-Aya Thank you. The perils of being considered important I'm afraid. It usually isn't worth all the effort, but sometimes you get something nice.
Having handed out what was a probably worthless bit of life advice, Aya proceeded into the meeting room. Tahu of course followed her in. This was more or less a private meeting, so Tahu would keep the the edges of the room. Close enough to see & make sure nothing unfortunate happened (to anyone in the room), but far enough away to at least pretend like she couldn't hear the conversation.
-Aya Greetings Grand Moff. I must say I am very impressed with the workman ship of the gift you sent me. It did however, have the effect of reminding me that I have been neglecting our people's long friendship since I have assumed power. Please forgive that oversight.

Vlusu stood and bowed when Aya entered the room. After all, she was a person of considerable importance. And it was the proper way to show such respect. He listened thoughtfully to her piece about her neglect of their alliance and paused for a moment before speaking again. “All is forgiven. I, as well, seek your forgiveness for ignoring our ancient alliance. I as well was reminded of this when your Smith provided me with several armies of very good quality. My highest complements on his work. But you should sit down; you must be tired from your trip.” He gave her a moment to either sit down or not before continuing. “I believe that now, more than ever, is an excellent time for us to renew this friendship.”

Aya takes a seat in the offered chair. It was surprisingly comfortable for how plain it looked. But then again, it was a chiss design so perhaps it should not have been too surprising.
-Aya I do hope he didn't get too extravagant with the designs. He does excellent work, but he tends to get caught up in adding more & more flourishes to his designs. He isn't exactly the best conversationalist either, but we all have our flaws. Before we continue though, I do have a somewhat serious question. How secure is this room? Do you trust we can speak privately here?
Aya takes a moment to pick an imaginary piece of lint off her dress, but it is clear that Vlusu has her full attention. Depending on both his reaction & his actual answer, the conversation she is hoping to have could go in one of several directions.

Vlusu knew this was coming, as he could foresee the purpose of such an inconspicuous arrival the moment she had visited. He pressed a button that immediately changed the window’s colors to a tinted black. The room was already soundproofed, and a bug sweep was done every day. Vlusu was confident in his security. “About as secure as possible. The entire room is soundproofed, swept for bugs daily, and with the windows tinted, no one can see in. In addition, the entire building has scanner spoofers.”

This was very interesting indeed. Vlusu began to think. Perhaps this Captain would be of more use then he originally thought. All of his men were on board with this, and so he was slowly looking for allies. He knew that, given time, he could rekindle the alliance that the Infintw Imperium and the Chiss had once had. True, they were technically still neutral, but he First Order’s conquest of the region had made the entire affair very tense. He had also heard word of a new Empire rising from the world of Zakuul; perhaps he would be able to count on them as well. But that could wait. For now, he had enough on his plate to not go worrying about a fledgling Empire.“I see.” He paused for a moment, allowing himself to prepare his thought process for if this were to go wrong.“You know, there are certain... people among the ranks that feel very similarly to you. That the Ascendancy should, in fact be restored... but that can wait. For now, I must decide where your talents would be used best.” He brought up a small map of Ascendancy Space, looking over it very carefully. He paused for a moment once again before speaking.“Tell me Captain, are you aware of our... activities along the edge of the galaxy?” Tennyson's face remained unphased at the hint of a possible conspiracy for restoring the Ascendancy except for the slightest of up turns on his lips, making the faintest and almost invisible smile. But as the conversation shifted, and a map brought up, Tennyson moved over to also view the map. He had heard stories from his father about the old Ascendancy, but not much more after he left for the core to over see his fleets construction.
I'm afraid I don't know too much on the home front. I've only just left Fondor a few weeks ago.

She was unaware that that her next question was echoing something said just a short while ago in this very room.
-Aya What are your thoughts on being a satellite state of the First Order?
Hopefully, he would feel much as she did. That the First Order was a threat. Even to those people that were technically its allies. A power like the First Order was not built on tolerance & understanding of the cultures of others. Especially those radically different from their own.

I'm afraid I don't know too much on the home front. I've only just left Fondor a few weeks ago. Vlusu brought up a series of strange-looking schematics for some sort of space station. It was a strange design, something like a hybrid of a listening post and a factory or refinery of some sort. He gestured to the diagram.“This here is one space station, in a series of space stations, located along the edge of the galaxy. Ostensibly, they were built as an early warning system, for extragalactic threats. In that capacity, they preform admirably. However, there is a secondary purpose for their existence.” He wove his hand over the diagram, moving the space station diagram to one side and bringing up the diagram of Illum.“This here, is the planet Illum. Long a source of the Kyber Crystals used in the lightsabers of the Jedi. We have been mining the planet for its Kyber, and repurposing it for our own ends. Now, one of these satellites have been taken over by... I’m not sure what to call it. We lost the security feeds to the station shortly before it went dark.” He paused for a moment, looking straight at the Captain.“This is a major setback to our... plans for the revitalisation of the Chiss Ascendancy. I want you to go to that station, and investigate what has happened.” ==Private Visit RP== <<107 PP, F8 Sector, Csilla, Csaplar>> She was unaware that that her next question was echoing something said just a short while ago in this very room. -Aya What are your thoughts on being a satellite state of the First Order?Hopefully, he would feel much as she did. Especially those radically different from their own. Vlusu let no inkling of any emotion cross his face. Indeed, no emotion was stirred within him, other than a small sense of caution. This was entering some very dangerous territory. Yet, in spite of this, he could read the context in which the question from coming from. She was betraying no sign of this being some sort of deception. He decided to take her at face value.“If I am to be fully honest with you, I don’t find the arrangement particularly... agreeable with Chiss culture. We Chiss have never been overly aggressive and expansionist people, and yet the First Order further and further militarises our culture. Trying to fit us into the First Order. Truth be told, I can understand why. The Chiss are a very... unique people. Well sought after by any faction. One only needs to turn to the campaigns of Thrawn to see why. Yet, with all the effort to blend us in, the more they garner the collective dislike of the species. Vlusu was banking on the fact that his intuition had served him right. The Chiss never liked banking on such arbitrary things, but in this case, it was the only option.

She smiled at him. Her hands settled back to the arms of the chair as she hears the answer she had been hoping for. Or at least as much as could be expected from this early stage.
-Aya I must say I am relived to hear that. I personally feel much the same about the interactions between the Imperium & the Order. Even with our greater remove from them. Unfortunately, I am limited in my possible responses. Despite a continued effort by my propaganda Panel, we have not been able to bring public support for the First Order to less than sixty percent among Citizens.
She pauses a moment to school her features back into neutrality.
-Aya The First Order is a threat. They will continue until they have no enemies. Once they are alone at the top, they will turn on those beneath them. I, for one, will not allow my people to end in such a way.

Vlusu was admittedly relieved to hear that, even if he still was a bit wary. He would welcome any allies in this struggle against the First Order’s quashing of the Chiss People’s culture. Her smile certainly seemed genuine. Though he supposed one could never tell. “Agreed. However noble they believe themselves to be, they are somewhat misguided in their efforts.” He paused for just a moment, to let out a small sigh. “I won’t lie; the First Order is not nearly as stable as one would hope it to be. I already know that there is some dispute among the three Force-wielding divisions, in addition to all the problems caused by turning it into a hereditary Empire; I’m not even sure if the First Order will survive after the current Emperor passes away. Not to mention the new ruler may not show goodwill towards the Chiss; the current leader has certainly given us a great deal of rights as near-humans, but I know that there are others in their ranks that would seek to see us enslaved.”

She nods in understanding. It was a common theme in all the many states spawned from Palpatine's insane rise.
-Aya My own people would be no more loved. Probably less so as many of us lack the humanizing appearance the Chiss have. I fear that only our measure of distance keeps us safe even now. To be perfectly honest, this is the real reason I have come to visit in person. While the gift was a nice as I said, it alone would not have been enough to draw me out here in person.
She pauses, She isn't exactly certain how she want to proceed with her idea. It is a very rare circumstance for someone that thinks as quickly as a supercomputer.
-Aya In the past, our people have had very close ties. I would like to see that again. But I don't want it to include just our two people. I think we should reach out to other factions, both within & without the First Order, that would be particularly targeted. Obviously, we are no republic. But we might be able to pull off a very loose federation. A mutual pooling of our military strength, plus an increase in trade.
She tries to gather her thoughts but they are still rather jumbled. This is a half formed idea that was still taking shape as she spoke.
-Aya Each group would be otherwise free to do as they wish, as long as they support the others from outsider influence. Under the table at first. But we could move more openly once we have enough power that the First Order couldn't just wipe us out in one go.

Vlusu did understand where she was coming from; however, souring relations with the First Order was not what he wanted. “Such an agreement would indeed be mutually beneficial to the both of us, and any others involved. However, I am not willing to spoil our relationship with the First Order to quite that degree. I would still like to at least be neutral towards them, if not still somewhat allied.” Vlusu brought up a small table of reasources. Many would not understand the various figures upon it, but Vlusu trusted that Aya would understand that the figures upon it denoted various reasource pools. “As shown by the chart, the First Order’s considerable reasources are quite impressive. They are not worth angering.”

Aya nods, she had reviewed similar tables that her own intel people had gathered. The chiss version was a little different but close enough to her own people's estimates. She was a bit surprised the Chiss would be willing to be friendly with the First Order, but if she was perfectly honest, she wouldn't mind the same. Assuming she could ensure they wouldn't be a threat later.
-Aya That is understood. The two of us alone couldn't face down the First Order, even together. On the other hand, we need to be out from under their thumb. Perhaps not immediately, but the sooner we can manage some level of independence, the better. Even if it is just enough that we would put up more fight than it would be worth to conquer us.
She tried to think of a way to convince the Chiss of she point, without making him have to abandon his own stance.
-Aya We could easily word it so that most would think it is a joint defense treaty against threats from the Unknown Regions. After all, that is how our people originally became allies. It would allow us to stay at least friendly with the First Order, until they decide that one of us is the next thing on the menu.

As his assignment is given, he once more looks up at the Moff.Hmm, should I take my fleet, or is this something you wish to be executed with a more subtle hand? Also, I will need marines. I was not assigned any at Fondor... Nor do I think I would have wanted any more non-Chiss aboard my ships.

It was an understandable question, but one that Aya hadn't thought about too much yet. The Yuuzhan Vong would probably be a good addition. The Clan had nearly a good & long history with them as with the Chiss. They would require significant effort to bring up to fighting shape, & she already had the rest of the Assembly to worry about. The Mandalorian Assembly itself would be a good addition, collectively they were nearly as powerful as the Imperium, though not yet as advanced. Beyond that, she knew that Imperium scout were more often encountering a group known as the Eternal Empire, out even further from the core than Lehon was. There were also reports from the direction of Kamino & Geonosis about a new faction taking root.
-Aya For the moment, just the two of us. Hopefully I can bring more Clans into it from the Assembly, but I won't force it on them. The Imperium has a few more old allies it can feel out for membership but nothing solid yet.

Elsewhere in Csaplar, the Aristocras, along with other important Chiss figures, were meeting in the large structure that was devoted to the old Chiss Government. It was a circular room, with large glass skyslights bringing in light. It sat atop a large structure hat resembled a pyramid with the top cut off. Within the room, there was a very tense atmosphere, as the Aristocras debated on what the best course of action would be. For the Chiss, this was considered extremely unruly. The discussion followed Vlusu’s apparent desire for the Chiss to fight the First Order. Several of the Aristocras were worried, stating the obvious fact that the Chiss would never be powerful enough to stand up to the overwhelming numbers of the First Order. Others were concerned by the fact that he had stripped power away from the Aristocras. The debate had gone in for an hour, when they had finally decided to put it to rest until after dinner. At this point, the head of House Nuruodo, father of Tasot, had come down to the Expeditionary Library, where his son had been looking through a number of texts related to the Galactic Civil War. He looked at his father as he entered the room and sat down upon one of the seats that had been put in place to allow visiting Chiss to sit down while they reviewed the texts. The man looked relatively deterred. Recently, the tension in the Aristocras meetings’ could be easily felt. They were under a great deal of pressure due to the unnaturally reckless course the Grand Moff was taking. He knew the same thing his father did. Something needed to be done, and quickly. He placed the text he was reading back on the shelf and walked up the dark grey stairs that led up to the main floor of the building. There was often a great deal of activity here. However today, this late in the evening, the Hall was all but deserted. Save for a few of the Aristocras who had come down to clear their minds after the meeting and formulate a plan to deal with this insurgency. He noticed the leader of House Inrokini. The two of them had often spent time discussing the science that they were working on long into the night. It truly fascinated him to hear of the miracles they were working. Walking up to her and giving the customary salutation, he pulled her into an alcove. “What’s the word? What are they planning to do about this whole buisness?” ”Nothing yet, I’m afraid. They can’t reach a decision on what to do. They are hamstrung by the fact that Heas holds all the power. There is nothing that they can do, not through official channels anyway. He expressed his dismay with a sigh. He was hoping that they would have come up with a solution to the problem by now, but apparently not. He looked out into the corridor. Nobody had noticed them. “Then what? What are we going to do?” ”You’re going to have to speak with the First Order directly. It’s not like Heas can do anything to stop you. You still are a war hero, and people will be dismayed if you end up dead.” He thought for a moment. Perhaps, if he could get into the strategic command on Muunilist, then maybe he could speak to someone, anyone, who could help with this... dilemma. His ship was outfitted with cloaking, like all Chiss vessels, so he could probably get past the fleet above Csilla undetected. They were unlikely to shoot him down, but they had to keep this off the Grand Moff’s radar, otherwise things could go badly very quickly. He realized it was unrealistic that anyone would meet with him, but at this point they were out of options and out of time. “All right then. I’ll go to Muunilist and see if I can’t get someone to help with our situation. Wish me luck.” With that, he casually walked out of the alcove and proceeded to walk across the darkened hall. The other Aristocras were returning to their chambers, having decided to hold off the debate until tomorrow, in an effort to allow some time to be allotted to come up with a plan. As he exited the hall, he glanced at the fountain in the center of the square just outside the building. Commemorating the past glory of the Chiss. He took no notice, however, as he took a speeder to his ship, and climbed aboard. The landing legs of it retracted and it raced off into the stratosphere, headed for Muunilist.

She thought about it for a moment.
-Aya The next step would likely be the two of us drawing up an agreement that fits our needs, without making it seem aggressive to the First Order.
She had a fair idea of what did & didn't want included in the document. Which she set about explaining in great detail. There were three major points, but mostly she needed help in the exact wording to use & how to order it on paper.
The largest & most obvious was the anyone that signed onto the Pact wouldn't be able to attack other members. At least not in an openly military way, some level of inter-state conflict was going to be inevitable as more members signed on. Hopefully, they could keep it down to economic pressures & general spy work instead of open warfare. That alone would be a huge boost.
The second was a joint military agreement. While they would normally be free to go about whatever they would be doing, the members of the Pact would agree to support each other militarily should a member be attacked by a group outside the bounds of the Pact.
The last was a fairly simple request for favored trade status between the various members of the Pact. While exactly what that meant would likely be left up to the individual governments, it would be a nice boost to get things rolling.

==Private Visit RP== <<107 PP, F8 Sector, Csilla, Csaplar>> She thought about it for a moment.-Aya The next step would likely be the two of us drawing up an agreement that fits our needs, without making it seem aggressive to the First Order. She had a fair idea of what did & didn't want included in the document. Which she set about explaining. Vlusu nodded in agreement.“That would make sense.” He paused for a moment.“I will need specifics, however, if I am to sign a document.”
