Clan Wars: Savage vs StarkillerThe Royal House of Savage estate was located within one of the few temperate zones upon the surface of Iridonia. Sitting near a large forest with a deep rocky gorge running near by, the Savage estate was of the ideal location to both train its clan members as well as raise a family. Well defensible against attack, the Clan had fortified the ground to the estate with several defensive emplacements as well as multiple training facilities. Raising a family wasn't always easy, even with the highly defensible location. Before Viox or Vladimir had ever entered the picture, there was only the wise and powerful Clan Elder, Valorus, and his sons and daughters. Among the sons was Xander, a powerful and fiery young Zabrak. While Clan Savage held members numbering into the high hundreds at one point, years of infighting between Clan Starkiller had changed the way battle was done. It had been agreed upon that neither Clan could afford to continue to battle as they had. Instead, each Clan ran trials to test the prowess of three of their best warriors. Upon completing the trials, the three warriors would engage in fierce and brutal skirmishes in the territories between the Clan Savage and Clan Starkiller compounds. This story will cover the final months of the bloody feud between the Clans...

Xander stood along side his brother and sister, Jerome and Serena. Xander's black and blue tattooed chest glistened with sweat from the harsh sun overhead. Jerome's black and yellow tattooed face remained neutral. Serena's black and violet tattooed face continued staring on wards, thoughtfully. Xander flexed, causing his pectoral and abdominal muscles to ripple slightly. Across from them was the three chosen combatants from Clan Starkiller. Vetarikan was their leader. He wore similar tribal tattoos to that of Clan Savage, thought they were not filled in, merely outlined. He was busily thinking of his next move. Severus, his brother, was standing beside him, nursing a bleeding nose and a swollen eye. He bore not tribal tattoos, instead he only had a tattoo with the Starkiller Crest across his muscular chest. Frienzia, their sister, was laying on the ground several feet from them, unconscious. Xander took several steps forward and addressed the Starkillers.
X: "Vetarikan! You cannot win here. Savage holds the superior might, as we always have! Surrender, and your lives, along with those of your Clans will be spared. If you choose to fight, then it will only result in bloodshed and death. You know this. Be smart and walk away now. There is no shame in bowing down to a superior force."
Vetarikan stepped forward and bellowed his response.
V: "NEVER! For centruies we have allowed you to push us around, for you consider us to be beneath you. Just becasue you have wealth and superior numbers does not give you the ablitiy to walk all over everyone. I for one have had enough and it will end! Let there be violence. Let there be war. Let there be blood! The Starkillers will not rest until we have made it known that we are EQUAL to you and your clan! Until then, there will be no peace!"
Xander snorted in disgust. The thought of the Starkillers being equal to that of the Savages was the most outrageous concept he had ever heard.
Vetarikan motions for his brother to grab their sister.
V: "This isn't over yet, Savage! We will be back tomorrow to finish this, mark my words!"
Xander turns to face Jerome and grins as the Starkillers collect their equipment and wounded and make a slow retreat back to their territory. Xander turns to his siblings.
X: "Come. We must rest and prepare for the morning."
J: "Agreed. The Starkiller's won't let the severe injury of Frienzia go unanswered. There will be blood spilled tomorrow...I can sense it..."
Xander and Serena nodded in silent agreement. While they may have been more physically prepared for this hand to hand engagements, the Starkillers were sneaky and underhanded sometimes, especially if Clan Savage managed to gain the upper hand. The Savages collected their things and made their way back to their estate, where the could recover and prepare for the day ahead.

Savage Estate, Iridonia.
Xander, along with Jerome and Serena, stood in the Council of Elders chamber. The Clan Elder, Valorus sat upon his throne before them. His loud and powerful voice echoed within the walls of the chamber.
"We need to do better! The Starkillers are a plague upon our very existence. Simply making them retreat isn't enough! We need to hurt them!"
Xander took that moment to step forward.
X:"We can hurt them, mi'lord. I would gather our best and strike at the heart of their estate. Cripple them with a strike they would never see coming!"
Valorus sighed deeply and shook his head in disagreement.
"As much as I admire your ambition Xander, there is a certain etiquette to follow. Tradition dictates that we abide by rules. That we honor and uphold the traditions as our forefathers did."
There was a pause, as the Elder Zabrak thought for a moment. He finally spoke once more.
"I will convene this meeting until the morning. You all have until then to come up with a solution to our current predicament."
With a wave of his hand, Elder Valorus dismissed the trio. All three of them bowed, then turned on their heel and left the Council Chambers. Xander was fuming. Jerome spoke.
"As much as I hate to agree with Valorus, he is right. If we didn't follow the traditions, we'd be little more than barbarians, fighting over scraps of meat around a fire."
Xander snorted in disgust.
X:"The old man is wrong. He is so blinded by tradition that he refuses to see that if we keep adhering to tradition, the Starkillers may actually win this war. But, I have a plan. Something that may tip the scales into our favor...but we shall speak more of this after dark. Same time at the usual meeting place."
Jerome and Serena both nodded in agreement and parted ways, each walking off in a separate direction.
Later that evening, deep within the gorge near the Savage Estate...
Xander, Jerome and Serena stood around a small fire. Neither one spoke, knowing that Xander would speak in due time. He was a very calculated individual, therefore they knew he would have something good to tell them. His plans, despite being rather radical at times, were often the key to victory against the Starkillers. Xander opened his cloak and produced an ancient looking tome. He placed it on the table before them. Serena and Jerome moved over to him to get a better look at what he had brought. Neither of them recognized the tome.
X:"Behold. The Tome of the Ancients."
There was a collective gasp between the other two. Jerome merely stared at the tome. Serena, however, spoke up.
"Where did you get this?!?" She hissed.
Xander ignored her question, and simply proceeded.
X:"I have managed to decipher some of the text. It was difficult, but my labors bear fruit. I have located the tomb of Elder Skaar."
Jerome finally found his voice as Serena gasped again and was about to round on her brother for a second time.
"How did you manage that? Elder Valorus forbade us from looking into the location of Skaar's tomb. He was banished for a reason, Xander. If we proceed with your plan, we will be directly disobeying the Council..."
Jerome trailed off, thinking hard on whether or not he wanted Xander to proceed. After a few seconds of silence, Xander took initiative and began speaking again.
X:"Do not question my loyalties. I am absolutely devout to this family. To its ideals. I however, am not so blinded by my beliefs that I would stand in the way of progress. This is progress. I have located Skaar's tomb. And it is said that within his tomb, his secrets are buried with him. If we set out to Skaar's tomb, we could unlock the biggest discovery Skaar had every made!"
"Immortality..." she breathed.
At the mention of immortality, Jerome's eyes lit up. But Xander quelled the rising interest by explaining further.
X:"Not immortality. Longevity. Imagine it, we uncover the long forgotten secret to a longer life. We live through several decades. We outlast the Starkillers due to longevity, not through martial might. As much as I love fighting, we need to be smarter about how we go about this. Instead of a war with weapons and abilities, it becomes a war of attrition. The lands surrounding our Estate are fertile and will provide for us for centuries. We could easily outlive the Starkillers...but I can't do this alone. I need your help. So, Jerome. My brother. Do you stand with me?"
Xander asked, waiting to see what his brother's answer would be. After a few moments of silent contemplation, Jerome extended his hand. Xander grinned malevolently and gripped his brother's hand in return.
"I stand with you, brother."
The two released each other. Xander turned to Serena.
X:"What say you, sister. Do you stand with your brothers?"
Serena merely stood, rooted to the spot. Xander could tell she was running through every possibility in her head. She was always weighing the advantages and disadvantages to Xander's schemes. And he didn't blame her for weighing this one so heavily. This was probably the most precariously poised plan he had ever concocted. Xander merely watched her for a few seconds longer. He was about to open his mouth and ask her one last time, but she spoke before he could.
"I stand with you, my brothers."
Xander's grin broadened. Everything was going according to plan.
X:"Excellent! Spend the rest of tomorrow packing your things. It is a two day hike to the tomb. We leave at nightfall."
And with that, the trio extinguished the fire and headed back to the Estate for the rest of the night. Tomorrow would be a busy day.

Midday. 35 miles north of the Savage Estate. Engagement Site Foxtrot.
Jerome had been correct in his prediction of Clan Starkiller not letting the grievous injury of Frienzia go unanswered. Vetarikan and Severus had been waiting for the members of Clan Savage to arrive. That was to be expected. The unexpected part was the much younger sister of Clan Starkiller, laying in wait for them. Xiandria had set a trap before the members of Clan Savage had arrived. And it had nearly succeeded. Jerome had triggered the trap first. He had been taken out of play early on. His limp form could be seen several feet behind where Serena and Xander now stood. Serena had narrowly avoided the trap, suffering from a blow to the side of her head. A vicious gash ran down from the right eyebrow, across her nose and stopped just above the left side of her lips. Xander, having whisked Serena out of danger, had managed to avoid any sort of injury. At least from the trap. Xiandria was a feisty little number. She had gone down, but not easily. Xander had dispatched the Starkiller female, permanently. As a result, Vetarikan and Severus had become enraged at the sudden death of their sister. Though Xander himself was not remorseful of his actions. This was a war, after all. Casualties happened. And it just so happened that today it was one of the Starkillers. Though he wanted to also speed up their engagement today, so that he and his two siblings could get away from the Estate tonight. With the surprise attack, it appeared as though Jerome wouldn't be making the trek to Skaar's Tomb. The sun bathed the battlefield in light and sweltering heat. Xander, breathing heavily, stepped forward.
X:"Inaction at the death of one of yours is a sign of weakness, not strength! If you cannot deal an appropriate response, then I suggest you walk away now! Blood had been shed this day, and much more will be shed if you jump blindly into this. I want to fight, but I also want a challenge. I can't have that if you are uselessly throwing your lives down at my feet. I am giving you this one opportunity to lay down your arms, collect your dead and vacate the vicinity. We will meet again on the field of battle in three days time. That give you time to mourn for your dead. What say you, Vetarikan?"
Serena was taken aback by Xander's sudden change in demeanor. He was playing by the rules and actually willing to back down. If Serena didn't know the true reason behind why he was playing the situation this way, she would have thought he was sick. But she knew that he wanted to make the trek to Skaar's Tomb as soon as possible. The opposing members of Clan Starkiller seemed to consider this option, though only for a few moments. Without a word to each other, Vetarikan and Severus merely glanced at each other, then sprinted towards Xander. Upon seeing his opponents jump into action, Xander tensed up. He widened his stance and shifted his grip on the Zhaboka he held on to. As Severus closed the gap between himself and Xander, Xander sprang into action. He lunged at the oncoming Zabrak, Zhaboka spinning in a deadly arc. Severus countered with several parries from his single bladed Zabrak Vibrosword. As Xander locked up with Severus, he gave an mighty shove, sending Severus into Serena's waiting grasp. As Serena engaged with Severus, Vetarikan was finally on top of Xander. His muscular bulk pressing upon Xander's defenses. Sweat dripped down the side of his face as he parried and countered Vetarikan's vicious offensive strike. And that's when Xander found an opening. He locked blades with Vetarikan once more, pushing his attack. As he spun about, he feinted a strike at Vetarikan's exposed right thigh. Vetarikan instinctively moved to block the attack, and as he did so, he exposed his entire left flank. Xander grinned and heaved upon the Zhaboka, snapping the handle in half. The second half of the Zhaboka found purchase in Vetarikan's ribcage on the left side. A shocked Vetarikan stopped. Xander grinned malevolently as he brought the other half of the broken Zhaboka to bear. He batted Vetarikan's weapon aside and plunged the blade into Vetarikan's stomach. Xander then released both ends of the broken Zhaboka and brought his right clenched fist up into Vetarikan's face. As Xander's fist made contact, he followed through, sending the wounded Zabrak to the ground. As Xander caught his breath, he hollered at Severus.
X:"Severus! You should have listened to me. You have been defeated. Vetarikan is severely wounded. Now heed my warning and leave. I will NOT show you such mercy again."
And with that, Xander spit on the ground and turned away from the wounded Zabrak before him. He motioned for Serena to follow him, as he went to collect the unconscious form of Jerome. And then they begun the trek back to the Savage Estate. And for the time being, Clan Starkiller was going to remain silent. They had a dead to mourn and a severely wounded to tend to. It would keep them occupied for a few days, giving Xander and Serena the opportunity to slip away from the Savage Estate and pursue Skaar's Tomb, and the secrets that were supposedly held inside.

Iridonia. En route to Skaar's Tomb.
Xander and Serena trudged up the rocky mountain path. They had disembarked from the Estate two and a half days ago. And according to the instructions Xander had been able to translate, they were almost at the Tomb. The mountain that they were currently climbing up was once the site of a terrible battle between the current Elders of each Clan. Back when both clans had the numbers to mount an army to fight with. The battle had been horrific for both sides. It was said that the Elders of their time, now known as the Ancients, had cursed both sides to failure so that they would re think their strategies. And it had worked. That last battle between the Clan Armies was the final battle of the war. Now they resorted to small skirmishes. Xander, garbed in loose training fatigues and a rough fabric cloak, consulted the Tome of the Ancients.
X:"Just a bit further, sister. Over this next ridge!"
Serena grumbled under her breath as Xander pushed forward. Within ten more minutes of hiking up the mountain side, the duo arrived on a plateau. Xander stepped forward in awe, lowering his hood as he did so. Before him was the Tomb's entrance. Weathered, hand carved statues of the Elders before Skaar could be seen on either side of the wroshyr wood doors. As Serena joined him, she too seemed to be awestruck. Xander cast a glance in her direction.
X:"Your doubts are unfounded, sister. I have made a promise and I have delivered. Behold, Elder Skaar's Tomb!"
Xander trudged forward, consulting the book as he walked. He pulled his nose out of the Tome long enough to help Serena open the doors of the Tomb, then immersed himself into the Tome once more. Serena lit a torch and took point, allowing Xander to direct her as he walked. And finally they entered the inner crypt, where the entombed body of Elder Skaar was located. Xander made his way to the stone alter while Serena began lighting the torches on the wall. The flickering light did little to ease the ominous darkness that permeated the chamber. As Xander read, he became more and more sure of what he had to do. The Tome specified that there was only one way to achieve the longevity he sought. Blood sacrifice. As Serena join him at the stone alter, Xander closed the Tome.
X:"It states in the Tome that there is a pouch at the foot of the sarcophagus. Would you mind helping me search for it?"
Serena nodded and proceeded towards the sarcophagus. Xander followed her, a few steps behind. He unsheathed the Zhaboka he was carrying on his back silently. As Serena approached the foot of the sarcophagus, Xander made two quick steps towards her and slid the blade into her back. He plunged the blade deeper and wrapped his free hand around her mouth. He whispered softly in her ear.
X:"You have done well, sister. You shall go down in the history of our clan as a valiant warrior. I am truly sorry for this but a sacrifice must be made..."
Xander twisted the blade, sealing his sister's fate. As he withdrew the blade from his sister's body, he gently lowered her to the ground. Blood pooled around her. As it did so, the entire tomb began to shake and shudder. Dust fell from the tomb ceiling far above. Xander ran back to the alter and opened the Tome once more. he then read a passage from it.
X:"I sacrifice my offering to you, oh mighty Elder! Take this offering made to you this day and grant me the power to do what is necessary! In this I command you!"
The shuddering within the Tomb ceased as Xander's last words echoed within the cavernous space. A fluttering noise caught his attention. He spun around. Standing before him was the ghostly apparition of an elderly Zabrak in archaic armor. Xander dropped to one knee. The apparition spoke to him.
"You summon me, child of Savage. And yet I think you do not understand what you truly invoke from me. I am Elder Skaar, formerly of Clan Savage. Tell me, why have you made this sacrifice to me? Of your own blood no less..."
Xander raised his head, but dared not move from his kneeling position.
X:"I seek the power to end this conflict that weakens our mighty clan. Through it's end, our clan can truly prosper."
The apparition seemed slightly amused at what Xander sought.
"You know not of the powers you attempt to dabble with. But there is something about you...a certain destiny. Great and terrible things will be done in your name, this much is clear. But there is a price you must pay. Are you willing to pay it, son of Savage?"
Xander's piercing blue eyes met Elder Skaar's lifeless gaze.
X:"I am willing to do whatever it takes to achieve my goals."
Skaar chuckled at this.
"Indeed. And that is the kind of ambition that our clan lacked for so many years...rise and follow me..."
Without hesitation, Xander rose to his feet and followed the Elder over to the foot of the sarcophagus. The Elder reached through the sealed sarcophagus and pulled out a small, perfectly triangular stone with smooth edges. It appeared as though it was a very old holocron.
"Now you must suffer and endure. I will grant unto you the power of longevity..."
Elder Skaar then dipped the holocron in Serena's blood and muttered something incomprehensible. Brilliant tendrils of green light shot forth from the stone and began enveloping Xander. He was raised off of the cold stone floor and into the air, suspended by the green tendrils. And then it happened. Pain wracked every nerve ending within his body. He shrieked and convulsed in pain. As he shifted in mid air, he felt the changes taking place. His body was being altered. His horns grew from a neat three inches to a monstrous eight inches. All of his hair fell out, save for a long strand of hair, now white that protruded from the center of his crown of horns. His already muscular body seemed to gain more mass as the green light danced over his skin. He screamed in pain. But he did not recognize the demonic sounding howl that escaped his lips. Below him, the apparition of Elder Skaar began to fade. But the green light continued to work. As the physical pain seemed to subside that's when Xander's head seemed to explode with the voices of the entire planet. Whispers danced within his skull. And finally the green light lowered him to the ground. Kneeling on all fours, Xander breathed heavily. He slowly rose to his feet and began to examine himself in the dim light. His muscular biceps rippled as he flexed. The whispers within his head subsided, but one very particular stood out.
You have survived the transformation. You have been granted the ability to use and access the Force through alchemical means. You also have an unnatural lifespan. This does not mean you are immortal, simple that you are stronger, faster and immune to the effects of aging. One last thing. Inside the sarcophagus are two forearm bracers. You will need them if you are to achieve the mantel of Sith Lord. You are destined for great and terrible things...son of Savage...
And with that the voice faded from within his head. Xander approached the sarcophagus and opened it. Instead of a body, there were several more small triangular stones, several tomes and the two bracers Skaar had mentioned. Xander picked them up and examined them. Attached to the bracers were two cylindrical devices. Xander buckled the bracers on. White hot pain shot up both of his arms. The bracers were now permanently bound to him. He clenched his fists and red lightsaber blades sprang to life. The cylindrical devices on the bracers were double-sabers. Xander swung his arms around and then relaxed his hands. The blades extinguished. Xander gathered up the other items from the sarcophagus and placed them in his satchel. Now it was time to return to the estate and make a few changes in the leadership department. Xander swiftly departed the Tomb, ensuring it was sealed once more as he left.

Savage Estate.
It was utter chaos outside the estate. It was under siege, but not by Clan Starkiller. It was one of their own. Xander marched upon the estate. Crimson blades shining brightly in the darkness. The bodies of several of his former Clan brothers and sisters lay strewn about. As Xander approached the main hall, a recovered Jerome stood before the main doors. He wore the look of sorrow as he confronted his brother.
"Brother, what is the meaning of this? You have been changed and not for the better. Why do you continue along this course of action?"
Xander's eyes, filled with the taint of the dark side, darted over to his brother.
X:"Stand down brother. This does not concern you. I am doing what must be done. I am cleansing the taint of weakness from our clan. Once I am finished, we will be stronger than ever!"
Jerome shook his head sadly.
"No brother. You have crossed a line. You spill the blood of your own kin. And only to do what? Defeat Clan Starkiller? This is not the way. Surely you must realize that?"
Xander lowered his head, staring at the ground for a few moments in silence. He raised his head and looked his brother dead in the eye.
X:"If you are not with me, then you are against me. Stand aside! I will not ask again."
With a determined expression, Jerome withdrew his zhaboka and prepared to fight. Xander merely smiled and lifted his right hand. Jerome was hoisted into the air by an invisible force. Xander then swiped left quickly with his right hand, tossing Jerome aside. Jerome's body crashed through an ornate vase on a pedestal and hit the floor. He was rendered unconscious. Xander marched up the steps.
X:"In time you will understand. Or you won't. Either way, this is for the best."
Xander pushed through the doors. They closed behind him. Moments later screams of terror and agony could be heard, echoing out of the main hall and the Council Chambers. Xander was slaughtering any who opposed his new regime. And once he was finished with his own Clan, he would turn his sights on the Enclave of Clan Starkiller...

Savage Estate.
Xander sat on the throne within the Council Chambers. Seated around him were those within his Clan that were found to be Force Sensitive and aligned with his ideals. Before him stood several of his former Clan brothers and sisters that were opposed to his new regime. Among them, Jerome. He defiantly stared at Xander. Xander addressed the Council.
X:"You have been found guilty of treason against the Council. You defy my words and insight rebellion against me. It shall not be tolerated. Normally I would have you all executed in public to reinforce my cause. However, there had been enough of our own blood spilled."
At that statement, Jerome spoke up.
"You willingly spilled that blood yourself. And yet you now refuse to spill mine. I have fought alongside you for years and you deny me a proper death. It is not us who has betrayed this Clan. It is you!"
Xander merely chuckled and rose from his seat.
X:"You misunderstand the reason for you being here. You are here to be permanently banished from Clan Savage. Of course this will only be known by those within this room. Publicly there will be several Starkiller prisoners taking your place at the executions. Do not questions my mercy and do not ever think of returning or you will be killed. Do I make myself clear?"
Xander glared at each and every member standing before him, before his eyes fell upon Jerome, as if daring the Zabrak to speak up once more. Thinking better of it, Jerome merely hung his head in shame. Xander motioned for the newly appointed guards to come forward.
X:"Take them to the holding cells. Dress up the prisoners to look like them and then come nightfall, release them."
The guards escorted the newly banished out of the room. Xander merely watched them go. Once gone, Xander spoke up.
X:"Now that they are taken care of, there is another matter I wish to bring up. We are lacking the prominence on Iridonia to have any political pull with what happens. I want to change that. Tomorrow myself and my selected advisers will head to Malidris and begin leaning on the Ruling Council to integrate ourselves into the daily planetary activities. Once that is successful, we will call for new elections and push to get one of ours placed on the Ruling Council. I want to take this Clan from the tribal status and move us up in the world. Eventually I envision the Clan ruling the planet..."
Xander trailed off as the newly elected members of his Council began to debate the possible courses of action to implement his new ideas. Soon he would bring his Clan to prominence and then it would be the end of Clan Starkiller. Soon.

Savage Estate. Central Courtyard.
Several 'members' of Clan Savage stood on the raised platform in the courtyard. Gathered around was the entire clan. Men, women, children, elders. Everyone was gathered to watch the spectacle unfold. Xander stood on the platform, reading from a datapad.
X:"Here stands those found guilty of treason against the High Council and this Clan. Each individual had been tried and convicted by the High Council as well as myself. They are found to be guilty on all account. They are hereby sentenced to death. Normally I wouldn't do this publicly, but to set an example to all of you and reinforce our ideals as a Clan, I have decided to have them all executed before you..."
And with that, Xander turned to the rather husky looking Zabrak, face painted entirely black, with red and yellow markings across his face, resembling the tribal tattoos. He wore entirely black clothing and was wielding a double-sided war axe. As he took his place next to the stock, the first of the guilty was dragged forward. The executioner removed the bag from their head and pushed them down to their knees. The tearful eyes of the Zabrak danced across the crowd. The executioner lifted his axe high, and brought it down swiftly with a wet thump. The head of the Zabrak fell to the platform and rolled off onto the ground. The crowd gasped and shifted away from the raised platform. The body was removed and the process was repeated. One by one until the prisoners acting as traitors were all executed. Xander took to the platform once more, addressing the Clan.
X:"Let this be an exam to all who would break our Clan! Treason and traitors will not be tolerated. Our clan has stood for over a thousand years! I will not let the idealistic manipulations of the other clans turn our own members against us. We've warred with the Starkillers and lesser clans for centuries. But soon, that war will come to an end. I will make them see their error and stand down, allowing us to prosper and grow. They will be given one chance to meet my terms of surrender. If the choose not to accept, or stray from the terms, they will be slaughtered. All of them..." Xander paused for a moment, allowing his eyes to scan the crowd. Satisfied that they were compliant, he spoke once more. "You all have lives to get back to. Get to them."
As the crowd began to break apart and drift away, Xander stepped down off the platform. Now he was to assemble the High Council and make a ruling on what to do with Clan Starkiller. Everything he had just said was for the public's sake. Not the Clan itself. Though the idea had merit, despite his dislike of it. Only time would tell on how they would rule, however...

Savage Estate. Xander's personal chambers.
Xander sat at a desk in his personal chambers, pouring over the Tome of the Ancients.
Deciphering the Tome was difficult. It was written in a combination of Zabraki and ancient Sith. He could decrypt the Zabraki easily enough, though the ancient Sith was more difficult.
As he stared at a page filled with strange glyphs and sigils, he allowed the Force to flow through him. As it did so, he felt the familiar presence of Elder Skaar brush up against his perceptions. Delving deeper into the ebb and flow of the Force, Xander spoke to the essence.
X:"Skaar...I require your help. Grant me the ability to read this ancient text..."
Skaar's distant whispers echoed within his mind.
He doesn't know how....Can't comprehend...Unable to... The trials...he must complete the trials. Prove his worth....go to the Tomb of Elder Varaxsis he must....Son of Savage, the Tome is only meant to be read by one deemed worthy....the Elder Council Chambers. Inside the statue of Blademaster Norvak, a map. To the tomb of Elder Varaxis of Clan Starkiller. Find him and prove your worth....he will die. Varaxis doesn't like outsiders...no visitors...death...failure...
The whispers trailed off. But Skaar's presence remained. Lingering just on the edge of his perceptions. And he was different now. Insane perhaps? Driven mad by his long years in solitude. Regardless, Xander would set out to do what he needed to in order to read the Tome.
X:"How very vague of you...but perhaps more helpful than you intended...we shall see..."
Xander closed the Tome and returned it to a drawer. Before he rose from the seat, he thought for a few moments.
This trial would undoubtedly be tricky. And most likely require something, like Skaar's Tomb did. So he would need a member of Clan Starkiller to sacrifice. Or perhaps one of his own. That wouldn't be too difficult. After all, Vetarikan had healed up and was willing to send more new recruits to challenge the renewed Savage threat. Xander would find what he needed on the field of battle. Tomorrow, during the fight he would take a member from each Clan in order to continue his ascension. Nothing was going to stand in his way. Nothing.

Iridonia. En route to Elder Varaxis' Tomb.
Xander, along with a captured member of Clan Starkiller and a voluntary member from Clan Savage, hiked down the winding trail. The group had set out three days ago. And Xander was impatient. He wanted access to whatever secrets Varaxis possessed. But he also needed to be smart about it. Which is why he had two other people with him. Just in case a sacrifice was needed. Skaar had required the blood of a Clan Savage member. And so, Xander had given it. If everything was similar to that at Varaxis' tomb, then it would require the blood of a Starkiller in order to work. Provided he passed the trials. And he would. Regardless of the consequences, he would pass the trial. Whatever it took. Nothing was going to stop him from achieving power. Nothing. The unlikely trio continued on their trek, heading into the jaws of the unknown...

Iridonia. Elder Varaxis' Tomb.
At long last they had reached the Tomb. The entrance of the tomb was carved into the mountain side, similar to Skaar's tomb, as was customary at the time. Xander approached the wroshyrr wood doors. He placed his hand on it, feeling the dark power swirling within. His Clan brother approached.
"So, this is the Tomb of the Starkiller Elder? I can sense great power here..."
Xander turned to face him, raising an eyebrow. It was impressive that Akranis could sense the power here. He wasn't very strong when it came to the Force. But his physical prowess was second to none. At that moment, the Starkiller slave spoke up.
"This is sacred ground. I know not of what you seek here, Dark One, but you will not find it. Varaxis was one of the most powerful Elders in his day. Stronger than your Elder, Skaar. Only a Starkiller can take whatever is to be found here."
Xander grinned.
X:"Why do you think I brought you along? If this Tomb is anything like Skaar's, it will require a blood sacrifice..."
Xander grinned wickedly as the Starkiller suddenly went quiet. Obviously he realized the only reason he had been kept alive this long was so he could be sacrificed. Arkanis grinned as well. Xander pushed the doors open.
X:"He goes first. Arkanis, keep your eyes on him. I will direct us by consulting the Tome of the Ancients."
Arkanis nodded and shoved the Starkiller forward. Xander watched for a few seconds as they began to enter the Tomb. He then retrieved the Tome from his satchel and began sifting through its yellowed pages. Once finding information about Elder Varaxis, he followed the other two into the Tomb. That's when things got interesting...
