The Imperious-class Star Destroyer was a prototype warship designed by Mon Calamari Shipyards during the Second Imperial Civil War. Its design was from the mainline Pellaeon-class Star Destroyer, a popular warship of the Fel Empire and the later Galactic Empire under Darth Krayt. it was to the Pellaeon-class what the Imperial II-class Star Destroyer was to the preceding Imperial I-class. Very few were historically fielded within history; one of which was captured by the Galactic Alliance Remnant during the Second Imperial Civil War and another, known as Darklight, which subjugated Falleen in 138 ABY.
The Imperious-class Star Destroyer had an impressive armament, starfighter complement and troop capacity. 50 heavy turbolaser batteries, 50 turbolaser batteries, 40 ion cannons, 50 proton torpedo launchers, 50 gravity mines, and 20 tractor beam projectors was the full armament of this warship, all evenly distributed on both port and starboard sides. It could carry an average complement of 72 starfighters and 3,000 troops, making it more an ideal vessel for ship-to-ship combat, but not so much for planetary invasions.
