Azazel gave a nod to the Quarren, their business now concluded for the time being, with nothing left but for people from both sides to finalise formal documents that had agreeable terms for both parties. With that, Azazel motioned to the door Very well then. Enjoy your stay on Thyferra, and feel free to take in the sights... With that, Azazel would take his leave once the Quarren had, so that he could attend to the preparations of visiting with the Red Lord

With the alliance between Thyferra and Ses-Trade finalized, Lady Lilith had returned to Thyferra to reign in the government once more. Her husband really had no sense of politics. He could lead an army and speak grand words, but it was her skills with people that ensured it all came together. That wasn't to say she was an incompetent fighter, or any less vicious. She was just more capable of control than Azazel, and that was why the Government responded far better to her hand than it did Azazel's

The skies above Xozhixi darken with the wings of hundreds of shuttlecraft dropping from the Clan Australis transports that had arrived in system. Shuttles land concentrations of troops at several points in the city, and formations move out to secure key government and military installations.
The men were disciplined and well drilled, and there was no random blasterfire or belligerent behaviour. Indeed, little to no force was required, as most locations were taken by surprise. Commanders commed each other with the successful taking of each key building, and capture of the leadership. Within hours, it was all over, and control had been established.
In the main governmental building, an armoured Mandalorian bearing the rank insignia of a Major addressed the ruling council of Thyferra, a mix of humans and Vratix.
I accept the formal invitation from this ruling body to establish Thyferra as a protectorate of Clan Australis. The major's helmeted head looked around the room at the faces, some resigned, some shocked, some dismayed. Don't stress over the decision gentlemen, we walked in here and took over without firing a shot, before any of you knew we were coming. Clearly you need some sort of protection. Do you imagine you'd be getting a better deal if it were the First Order or the Hutts that decided to occupy you?
With us, you'll have your freedom, your rights, and most of your profits. Security isn't free, but it's reasonably priced. And we'll guarantee no one else will be walking in here blasters raised to take what's yours. Sign, gentlemen. Around the table, a pair of commandos passed around a copy of the document that would turn Thyferra into a protectorate.
Though some hesitated, all signed. Once it was done, they each filed out of the room, and the Major contacted Mandalore to let the Clan's high command know that his mission was complete.

Thyferra's defences were installed quickly and efficiently by Clan Australis technicians. The guns formed the main defence for the city, with the shields providing the civilians with limited protection from orbital attack. The Thyferran Defence Corps had begun increased training, and their TIEs crisscrossed the sky, training powered blasts lighting each other up as they dueled with each other.
There had been some friction between the humans native to Thyferra and the Mandalorians. The locals had been lords of the manor for some time, and they'd gotten used to getting their own way. The commander of the TDC, Dikut Dural was a very difficult fellow to get along with. Short tempered and sharp tongued, he'd already had to be separated from various Mando'ade who hadn't appreciated an aruetii talking that way.
As a petty form of revenge, no man or woman among the hundreds of Mando'ade on Thyferra would give Dikut any hint of what his given name translated to. The private joke spread among Clan Australis, and the other Mando'ade onworld, and was in general use within weeks of the Clan's arrival. Dikut was, after all, living up to his name.

Appearing initially as a speck on the horizon increasing rapidly in size, the three malevolent subjects approached the capital city of Thyferra, Xozhixi. The HWK-290 resembled everything that a Manadalorian Clan Australis ship would, however old it was in comparison to the current fleet of craft the Australis clan mustered. It should have been unidentifiable as anything other upon entry into the system, but that wouldn't stop the three occupants of the light freighter from being cautious in every one of the calculated actions to follow. Infiltrate Thyferaa and bring down its defenses - whether that meant turning them against their own or simply being rendered as nothing less than derelict scraps of metal. Only time would tell.
Nevertheless, the craft sped toward the capital, arriving within mere minutes after clearing the planet's atmosphere.
Spotting a vacant civilian visitor pad in the eastern sector of the city, the craft approached and began the landing sequence. Hissing and whining the ships engines whirled the craft around and brough it safely down on the pad, its ramp descending, thee exit to the hangar bay entrance into the city.

Major Ja'ak Australis was on his way back to the HQ when he saw the notification of the request for confirmation on the inbound freighter. Checking the comm logs, he noted the freighter hadn't replied. That wasn't illegal in itself, but it was a little strange. As command officer he'd have been notified of any operations or movements of assets. Ja'ak hadn't thought Clan Australis used HWK-290s either, and thus had diverted to the spaceport to meet the vessel personally and check out its crew and contents. Rather than pull any of the limited number of commandos from patrol duty, Ja'ak tasked a platoon of troopers to join him. Twenty five troopers in basic combat armor, no beskar, armed mostly with blasters and blaster rifles. Tracking the inbound ship via a feed from the HQ, the Major was able to arrive in time to see the vessel land.
The black armored major took five men with him to meet the visitors. The rest were arrayed outside, out of sight of the ship, spread out in a containment pattern around the landing pad. The five troopers held their weapons ready but not aimed, and Ja'ak's were holstered. Ready for trouble, but not expecting open hostilities. He halted some meters from the ramp, to watch the three figures make their way down. He and his five troopers stood in the open, in plain sight before the freighter's boarding ramp.
Welcome to Thyferra, vode. Can't say we were expecting you.
Ja'ak suspected the three were potentially smugglers. If so, they were in for a painful lesson that it wasn't a good idea to impersonate a Mandalorian. Boba Fett had hunted down and killed his impostors. Australis wasn't into cold blooded murder, but there were other ways to chastise. Certainly he wasn't expecting a handful of smugglers or conmen to prove any danger.

The D'ordinii Aka'jor settled on it's designated pad and began it's post flight checklist run through. NC looked over the four vode who would be accompanying him, his visor hid a grimace, this was a mando'ade world, there wouldn't be a need for this much security... oh well. The men always said better to have them and not need them than the other way around. NC wouldn't mind as much if they weren't so damned professional the entire time they were with him. Nothing for it, He was here on clan business and he wasn't going to start the trip with an argument about how many would or wouldn't be escorting him. He supposed he should be lucky that the other four were staying on board for this trip... bah, he didn't need bodyguards, but Aya insisted, so he was stuck with them and they him.
The ramp lowered without at a sound, the disjunction between motion and silence worked wonders on aruetii psychies. NC strode down the ramp, as soon as he could get to the bottom without hitting his head or changing his stride. He carried no weapons, but it was pretty widely known that he didn't often need weapons either. He really wasn't expecting trouble here anyway. In truth he was only wearing his beskar'gam out of habit today. His four tag alongs marched with precision, down the ramp and arrayed themselves in a shallow convex arc behind NC, rifles at parade rest, they stood silent and alert, as if expecting a surprise assault. NC ignored their theatrics and focused on the Austrailis delegate sent to welcome him.

The Gotal vod Tagg Australis had taken personal charge of meeting the D'Ordinii representative. Arriving alone, without the encumberance of troops, who were needed elsewhere; the Clan's garrison was woefully inadequate, the robed and horned figure awaited NC's arrival. His armor was mostly hidden underneath the rich robes he preferred to wear in his task as Clan financier and economic czar.
Tagg approached and offered a hand in greeting.
Welcome to Thyferra. Let's get a drink and discuss how Clan Australis can help Clan D'Ordinii.

NC took the Gotal's hand, and nodded his acquiescence a drink would be good. It always helped to keep things moving smoothlly with a good drink when discussing dry matters of logistics and personnel support. He gestured for the Austrailis vod to lead the way, with a word.

Formal communications between the minor noble house of Gorgano and the corporate plutocracy of Thyferra were established shortly after the schemes of Graemon began. Utilizing the better diplomatic skills of his brother, Valerian, House Gorgano were able to set up a meeting with the corporate leaders in order to discuss a new treaty of cooperation between the two neighbors of the Rimma Trade Route. Thyferra's bacta production and Fondor's ship production were being used as leverage between the two as the parties came together in Xozhixi, recently liberated from a Sith occupation period. Fondorian delegates were welcomed and all was arranged. Now was the matter of negotiations.

Thyferra was in fact a world with a bitter past, highly valued for it's production of bacta, the world had last been forcibly clamied by vode of the aliit Australis. The Ifinite Imperium, or II, had brokered a rather agreeable deal with the clan to see to the provisioning of the clan and the rest of the mandolorian empire, with bacta. With the decline of the the Australis things had more or less returned to the control of the locals, though the II had been rather interested in keeping it's supply lines open. So far that hadn't been an issue. Though it seemed new contenders for the worlds' exotic product had arrived.
An II representative would be present for the negotiations, but had been instructed only to remind the world rulers that the II was very interested in keeping it's business. As such, he probably wouldn't say anything to the foreign delegation, though he had the ability and power to negotiate for the clan if the opportunity arose for mutual profit. She was rather distinctive, in that her armor bore paint unlike most of the II, it was a brilliant scarlet with gold trim, and a shimmering gold cape fell from her shoulders to her knees. It all looked very ornamental and decorative, as it was meant to. True it wasn't as durable as what most vode wore, but it was enough to survive most small arms fire. She entered with the local delegation, but moved to stand in a corner of the conference room, instead of taking a seat at the table. The various aides all gave her a respectable berth, as she leaned against the far left wall, from the Fondorian delegation's point of view. She wasn't particularly interested in the meeting, and hoped that her presence would be enough, and that she'd be able to stay quiet for the duration. Time would tell.
Aside from the side arm on her right hip, she appeared unarmed, though she rarely needed to use even that. Still, if anyone had happened to do their homework, they might have heard she put in plenty of time at a local range with her side arm.

Stationed upon Thyferra, Elise had a rather simple, albeit boring task set before her: ensure that the bacta producers were secure, supplied, and safe. With the planet under the Union of Fondor, it wasn't an unusual task assigned to a sole Jedi Knight, seeing as it typically only meant following mundane procedures and offering additional security for a time. At present, the politics behind such decisions typically went over Elise's head, and explanations delving deeper into the treaties, agreements, and acts of good faith were rare. All that mattered is that she was issued here, she would find all to be well, she would report back any pertinent information, and then she would head back to Corellia in the matter of a few weeks' time. At least, that was usually how things went. This time, however, she had to shake off a strange disturbance she felt originally upon landing on Thyferra. It was an easy enough task, considering that nothing was out of the ordinary throughout the first day. She went through the motions with the same routine, the same greetings, received the same type of concerns and requests. Keeping her senses heightened to pinpoint the location of the disturbance came up empty-handed. Just when she was about to dismiss it as a fluke in her senses, her dreams revealed new horrors to her.Visions of screaming, panic, disease. Men and women rushing, glass shattering, liquid spilling all around her feet. Suddenly, she was suffocated and her screams only elicited a terrifying silence as bubbles floated their way upwards. A fiery pain seeped its way deep into her, beginning at shredded crimson upon her side and quickly spreading to every limb, every fingertip, and no matter how hard she pounded against the glass cage, no one seemed to hear her cries. It felt like hours of agony -- days, even -- until darkness crept at the corners of her vision and numbing the torment...
Help. The gentle, pleading voice of a woman guided Elise from her nightmares, her dreaming panic painted by beads of sweat on her body. With a deep sigh, she forced her erratic breaths to steady. It was only a dream, she tried to console herself. Oh, how she wished it was only a dream. The rest of her night could only be left in meditation. By the time that dawn broke the horizon, she had made up her mind. The Force had called out to her, and she would heed Its call.Reporting in her visions to her superiors, Elise hadn't the time to truly wait for any other forces to be sent, and even when they arrived, what would they do? Where would they go? How would they stop this unknown terror? All she had were her dreams, without a definitive location, a point brought up by more than one. With little else choice in the matter, she sought out the locals for any information at all in between her routine check-ins. Her dreams led her to believe the source revolved around the bacta suppliers. It was a start, at least. The burning liquid, the glass encasement. At first, her questions regarding the known scientists came up with nothing. However, it was her first lead who changed her original theory. It's not like I know any of them personally, but things have been pretty normal around here as far I can tell. I mean, normal as normal could possibly be, he answered at first, to her dismay. ...but a buddy of mine got back from one of his regular trips, and he said he noticed one of the old abandoned factories outside the city seemed up and running again. He thought it was odd but left well enough alone. Might be what you're looking for, though. At last, a lead. The Force be praised. After a few more minutes questioning the man, she had a general idea as to where she could at least begin. The next step? Double checking holomaps and lists of all sanctioned factories upon Thyferra. Sure enough, after cross-checking the rough coordinates she was able to decipher from her leads, there was an abandoned factory a few kilometers from the city, and one that should still remain abandoned. After a quick relay back to her superiors with the new information, she rallied up a handful of armed guards, loaded up into a landspeeder, and rushed out of the city. Although it was advised that she wait instead of going in blind, the memories of that tormenting nightmare haunted her. She couldn't just stand around and wait, not when all those lives depended on it. Surely, she would get an earful when this was all said and done, but if lives were spared, an hour-long lecture would be well worth it.Hopefully, she wasn't too late as it was...

Over the course of the last year, Lynne had become something of a celebrity in the medical and philanthropic community for her work on the refugee crisis. As such she was brought to a leading medical center in Thyferra's capital city to give a lecture on her work since joining the Coalition. After the speech she was given time to tour the facility and witness some of the experimental work that was being done. Something that caught Lynne's eye was the work being done by the Thyferra scientists to improve upon the designs made by Angela Ziegler, a First Order doctor. Doctor Jameroo declined to ask how they had gotten a hold of these schematics, but did have a number of other questions; including if she could field test it?

The medical facilities of Thyferra prospered under the directory of the department of Public Health and Safety. The directory were notables in the field of medicine and technology, under the guide of picked persons by Doctor Lynn Jameroo. These people served the Coalition, and the greater galactic community, by ensuring the latest in medical breakthroughs were readily available. This committee worked with Thyferra's facilities that researched not only in bacta, but also alternative means of healing. Even some Jedi and Knights of Karabor participated in the research, lending their own views on things.

It had been a number of hours since the Australis fleet had been intercepted above Thyferra. News had spread quickly across Thyferra, and the local population, particularly the Vratix were concerned by the reappearance of the Mandalorians. Since the ascension of Thyferra to the Union of Fondor and the Corellian Coalition along with the election of the popular Senator Argon had filled the lower echelons of society with a sense of nervous optimism. The Vratix had been exploited for their bacta for countless years, as corporations and other actors harvested their bacta and sold it as commodities they were enriched at the expense of the Vratix who created and produced it. For centuries control of the bacta was fought over by the Xucphra and Zaltin Corporations, but now it had become a struggle between the people and those, like the Mandalorians who would seek to exploit it. Joining the Coalition had been argued by Argon and others to be essential for safeguarding Thyferra and its prosperity. Without the defence of the Coalition, they would be vulnerable to the galaxy's megacorporations or more selfish factions. Many still opposed or were sceptical, arguing they'd simply replaced their corporate overlords with Corellian and Fondorian ones, and that their independence was once again undermined. When the Prime Minister agreed to the Reparations Tax it had helped win over many of those on the fence. However, the return of the Mandalorian's had reopened the discussion.
Despite the events in orbit, the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister managed to make most of their scheduled appointments on time. Now they arrived at a large meeting hall in the capital city where a massive crowd had gathered to partake in a planned town hall with the Prime Minister and Senator. The Vratix were a very sociable species, and liked communicating and hearing about things in person, meaning they tended to be more likely to attend these sorts of events than other species who may be more content to watch over the Holonet or read about it from news outlets. While Salvor was used to the large crowds at these types of events, this one did seem noticeably large. The meeting hall was overcapacity. He wondered if it was due to the rare opportunity to directly address the Prime Minister, or if it was due to the Mandalorians. Perhaps both. After a brief introduction by a local Vratix politician, Salvor begun to speak.
"I want to start by thanking the people of Xozhixi for having us and allowing us the opportunity to address you all. I'd also like to welcome the Prime Minister to Thyferra," there was clicking sounds from the crowd, to those unfamiliar with the Vratix language there would be no telling if it was more akin to applause of boos. The skin tone of many of the Vratix in the crowd changed to various colours, showing Salvor opinion was clearly divided. The few humans in the crowd mostly clapped for the Prime Minister. "I suppose the first topic we should address would be the appearance of the Mandalorians..." he was then interrupted by a Vratix who stood up and spoke, choosing to make his points in Vratix not basic. After a few moments of his polemic, Salvor responded. "For those who did not hear," or could not understand Vratix, "My friend here raised concerns that the Coalition Fleet simply allowed Mandalorian invaders to land on Thyferra," there were angry and anxious noises from the crowd. They distrusted outsiders, and frankly, after their long history who could blame them? "I would like to emphatically clarify that the Fleet did not allow them to pass by unobstructed. In fact the Mandalorian flotilla was confronted and forced to pay the Reparations Tax by the Prime Minister," he was careful to label them as a "flotilla" in order to imply they were far weaker than the Coalition Fleet above and not any serious threat, "They were not at all comfortable by our security measures. They were also far from an invasion force."
"Does the Foreign Investments and Construction Regulation Bill have the support of the Coalition government?" asked another Vratix, this time in English. The bill he was referring to was a piece of controversial legislation before the Thyferran parliament seeking to ban construction by foreign actors and corporations in most circumstances. It was unclear if it would pass and there had been much speculation about how the Union of Fondor and Coalition governments would respond.
"I am personally in favour, perhaps it needs refining but I support its goals. I will let the Prime Minister speak for himself."
"What is the Prime Minister doing to protect us from these Mandalorians or anyone else who covets out bacta? How far will your Coalition go to defend us?" asked another one, who's skin flashed a reddish hue. Salvor looked to the Prime Minister to handle that question.

Marcus and Salvor's Town Hall - Prior to recent events in orbit and the terrain
For most of the trip, Marcus let Salvor take the lead in most of the meetings and discussions that were held that day, interjecting only when he was asked to or addressed. While it seemed an unusual arrangement, Marcus wanted to make a point that the Coalition was not here to interfere and that they were all working together toward a common cause. He remained humble and gave a bow of his head when Salvor introduced him at the overly crowded town hall meeting that had been set up. Despite the rather packed accommodations of the hall, few ended up being turned away.
When at last Salvor gave him the stage to answer a couple questions posed by the audience, Marcus pushed off from the stool he had been resting upon. His knee brace flashing in the light as he supported half his weight upon his signature cane. His free hand brought a microphone up to his mouth as his gaze moved across the crowd. He was no expert in Vratix culture and biology, but it was easy enough to read the room without such knowledge "Let me first start by addressing the question about the Foreign Investments and Construction Regulation Bill. I have read the legislation over numerous times and offered advice to those who have sought it on how to move ahead with it. As ever, the Thyferran Parliament is an independent body and we respect it's right, and the right of the people of Thyferra, to pass laws as they see fit. Our only caveat has been that they do not contradict the Coalitions outlawing of bio-weapons and disruptor technology. The former of which could pose a threat to not just the lives of Coalition personnel, but the lives of all those that rely upon Bacta to heal and live. Thyferra offers an essential commodity to the Galaxy. One which has been abused and misused by governments and mega corporations in the past. If the Thyferran people wish to see tighter restrictions upon who and what can be built upon the planet, the Coalition will support the move as we did with the Reparations Tax. Which leads into the next question that was asked..." His voice remained calm and steady, his tone never raising. His goal was to ensure confidence in the Coalition that had been formed by so many independent governments. They might not win everyone over, but they would do their best to reassure as many as they could "The Coalition has stationed armed forces upon Thyferra in agreement with the Thyferran Parliament, and it is their prerogative to deploy these forces as they see fit. Except, of course, where such forces would be used to oppress the people of Thyferra. We have positioned and manned two Golan III defence guns, filled with some of the best designs the Coalition has to offer for starfighters. Coalition ships are positioned in orbit with reinforcements a matter of jumps away. Thyferra is a member of the Coalition, and we will defend it as ardently as we would Corellia, Fondor, Hapes, or any other world. The Navy has been placed on notice to keep alert for any forces passing through toward Thyferra with ill intent. Let me further address the Mandalorians specifically... We acted within the laws and regulations of Thyferra, granting the Mandalorians pass to collect any Bacta they had previously invested in. Any further investment would be contingent upon the Thyferran Parliament granting them permission to operate upon Thyferra, and any construction would be contingent upon the laws of Thyferra. Additionally, foreign armed forces will not be allowed to operate upon Thyferra, only those under the command of the Coalition or the Thyferran Parliament will be exempt. The Coalition will enforce the laws as they are made by the Thyferran Parliament, so long us you empower us to do so..." With the three biggest issues addressed so far, Marcus slowly paced across the stage, shifting his weight so as not to stress his good leg or arm too much. With the lull in the conversation, another audience member spoke up How do you respond to the concerns and claims that the Coalition is simply a new overlord for Thyferra, replacing the mega corporations that had ruled over us in times of past? Marcus came to a stop on the left end of the stage, the spotlight following him as he had moved. He had been aware certain factions within Thyferra felt that way and sought complete independence, while others were being paid by those mega corporations to oppose the Coalition I have indeed heard these claims, both before and after Thyferra joined the Coalition. However, I refute them all. The Coalition has helped see a drop in Mega Corporation control on Thyferra by thirty percent, while backing additional empowerment of the Thyferran Parliament. The Coalition makes deals with Bacta manufacturers that are ninty percent or more owned by Thyferran Natives. We do not barter prices down, using the Coalition's protection as a trump card in negotiations. We pay market price. We have made no move to limit the Bacta market, in fact, we have encouraged its growth. The Coalition has supported, and will continue to invest grants into local businesses... I understand for some, this comes down to a call for total independence of Thyferra. For those that are acting in good faith, I assure you that should the Thyferran people and their Parliament decide to withdraw from the Coalition of their own free will, without coercion by foreign powers or mega corporations, the Coalition will respect that decision. I am also all too aware that no matter what I say, it will never placate everyone. But I do want to make clear, that the Coalition's actions will always speak for it... A newscaster from the local HNN raised their hand then, calling Marcus' attention toward them. Given the limited physical space in which these events were held, HNN correspondents from various stations had been included to ensure the broadcast and propagation of these events Prime Minister, speaking of actions speaking for you, Coronet News has learned that your office has not submitted paperwork for you to seek re-election. Is this simply an administrative oversight, or something else? The Coalition's election cycle was indeed drawing near, and it was only a matter of time before someone noticed something was up. While it was not the ideal setting, Marcus could not lie to the reporter. He took a moment to compose himself, before setting his gaze upon her It is not a mistake. After much consideration and consultation, I will not be seeking re-election this cycle. Instead, I will be endorsing Salvor Argon's candidacy for Prime Minister of the Corellian Coalition...

Governor's Office - Xozhixi
The transmission from Myrkr had come as some surprise to planetary authorities on Thyferra, who had been expecting a heavy military operation when the Coalition had pulled out of the sector, and Clan Australis had moved in with some forces from the Vegemite Enclave. So it seemed, Thyferra was to be given a choice? The governor, despite his misgivings, was intrigued by the proposal. It was almost too good to be true, and he had reservations. If the Mandalorian was genuine, then Thyferra would be able to remain free.
We'll see if this proposal has legs, but if the other worlds are involved, then Thyferra will join this Inner Rim Imperium. Said the governor, deep in thought. Many details would need to be worked out, but the initial proposal seemed to have merit.

The full ruling council of Thyferra was in session in the government building, at the governor's residence, in the city of Xozhixi. Representatives from the Bacta Cartels, the major corporations, as well as local chieftains and members of the Vratix. The planetary parliament had just voted to ratify the Hapes Treaty, the document which established the Inner Rim Imperium. Now, the governor had called the leaders of Thyferra together to discuss the future.
As you are aware, many of us held concerns for the future of Thyferra once the Coalition pulled its forces out. We assumed a Mandalorian occupation would be forthcoming. I am pleased to say this has not happened. As a member of the Imperium, Thyferra will enjoy generous contracts to supply Bacta, as well as coordination with Manaan on their Kolto production to ensure price stability.
Heads nodded. Bacta trade was the lifeblood of Thyferra, and the economy was bound tightly to the price on the galactic market. Keeping that price stable gave Thyferra economic security, as important to the corporate types as physical security.
We will support the new alliance in any way we can, as we benefit from this arrangement, so will our new friends. We gain far more from cooperation and sharing than we would from direct competition and struggle. The Imperium will aid us at need, and we will aid the Imperium.
More nods followed the Governor's statements, there was a lot of support for the Imperium in the room, the IRI having proven that it could be taken at its word. The first benefits of membership were now becoming apparent to the member worlds as the government was established, and trade links began to bear fruit. There was a lot more work to be done, but Thyferra was secure in its decision to be part of the Inner Rim Imperium, and dedicated to being a productive and active member world.
