The Alliance base, built into a large mountain atop an island on one of Fresia's seas, was only partially completed before being abandoned when, reading the proverbial writing on the wall, funds and resources were diverted to other projects and operations deemed more valuable to the fight against the First Order, but the hangar bay, medical bay and barracks were both completed enough that it serves the needs of the remnants of the force that had been assembled to try and prevent the First Order from occupying Rendili, a fight that the Alliance failed to win.
Arduino makes his way to the medical bay, where he knows Berdine and Jyotish, both Jedi healers, will be tending to the wounded Alliance troops. Finding Berdine first, Arduino holds up one of the MREs he has brought with him, telling her sternly, "You need to eat, so take a break before you collapse. You won't do any one good if you don't look after yourself."

Berdine, leaning against a wall outside of one of the operating theatres in the medbay, smiles tiredly when Arduino finds her to lecture her about the need to eat, Having just finished assisting the doctors operating on the wounded abdomen of an Alliance trooper, Berdine supposes that there is no harm in taking a moment to eat before she assists in another case; if nothing else the time will enable her to replenish her strength so that she can more readily work with the Force to heal the wounded.
"You're right, Berdine sighs, removing the stained surgical gown she wears over her tunic and depositing it in a bin near a handwashing station. Let me wash up, and then we can eat. After cleaning up, Berdine leads Arduino to a small room set aside for the medical personnel to use for breaks, and sits at the table in the center of the room after looking longingly at one of the sofas not currently occupied by a napping or relaxing doctor or nurse. Looking at the label on the MRE Arduino has brought, Berdine crinkles her nose as she reads aloud, Buckwheat noodles and nerf nuggets? Yummy. Opening the pouch and laying out the contents, Berdine asks Arduino, How's your ear? You need to let me look after it before it gets infected. Smiling as she turns his earlier argument about her need to look after herself back on Arduino, she says, You'll do no good if you don't take care of yourself, or at least let me do so for you."

Vashity lifts herself up onto her elbows upon waking, her mouth dry and her head still fuzzy with the lingering remnants of the nightmare that woke her from her sleep, memory of her battle with the Knight of Ren on Rendili playing on a loop and ending in her death rather than rescue by Berdine and Arduino. Her back is still sore from where the blaster fire had impacted against the plastoid inserts of the Alliance tactical vest she had borrowed, and Vashity winces as she pivots to search for her lightsaber upon realizing that it is not on her as she is now attired in a hospital gown. Relaxing when she sees that her lightsaber hilt in on a small tray beside her bed, Vashity ignores the nigh overwhelming desire to lay back down and sleep, instead swinging her legs over the edge of the bed and then standing up.
Dressing in the borrowed Alliance fatigues she had been wearing on Rendili, Vashity clips her lightsaber hilt to the belt of the thigh holster rig she also borrowed, and then begins heading out of the medical bay. Stopping when she spots Berdine and Arduino, Vashity hesitates momentarily, debating whether or not to interrupt them before ultimately deciding that it should do no harm to do so.
jokingly raising her hands as though in surrender as she reaches the table the pair of Jedi are seated at, Vashity says, "Don't shoot, with a grin, referring to the fact that Berdine had, in the course of rescuing her from the Knight of Ren on Rendili, accidentally shot her in the back. Pulling a chair over to the table, Vashity sits and says sincerely, Thanks for the rescue. I owe you. Looking around at the room, not having been conscious for the journey from Rendili to their present location, Vashity asks, Where are we? Frowning as she asks the next question weighing on her mind, she adds, How many of us made it away from Rendili?"

"I'm so glad you agree, Arduino tells Berdine when she relents and agrees to his suggestion that she take the break she undoubtedly is in need of given her exhausted appearance. Waving a hand to dismiss her concern over his ear after they have found a place to sit and begin to eat, Arduino says, Don't worry about it, pet. The medics have already had a look at what's left of the ear, given me some antibiotics, slapped a bacta patch and a bandage over it . . . trailing off when he sees from her expression that Berdine is not going to let the matter go so easily, Arduino grins and lifts his hands in surrender as he says, You win, you win. Feel free to do with me what you will after we finish eating."
Smiling as Vashity joins them, Arduino laughs at her joke about no shooting, and then answers her questions, "We're holed up on Fresia to regroup, at a Rebel base Cherney knew about. Looking down at his food with a sigh as he goes on, Arduino explains, We lost quite a few lives on or above Rendili. The orbital battle was brutal by all accounts, and we lost all but the Maebh, a MC30c and a MC40a. No longer hungry, he sets his fork down and concludes, The ground battle was just as harsh, and we escaped with only a fraction of the forces accompanying us."

Laughing when Arduino relents and says that he will let her take a look at his wounded ear, Berdine groans when Vashity arrives and makes a teasing remark about being shot. "You aren't going to let me forget that anytime soon, are you? Berdine asks, crinkling her nose as she adds, Sorry about that, again."
Arduino's exhaustion and frustration are abundantly clear in his voice as he answers Vashity's questions about where they are and how they had fared in the battle for Rendili, and Berdine rests a hand comfortingly on his shoulder. Having been the same battles against the First Order as Arduino, Berdine can understand all too well how he feels; clinging to hope has been difficult for her in light of what she has witnessed, as has been maintaining her belief in all that she was raised to believe.
"What will you do now?" Berdine asks Vashity, pointing her fork at Arduino's plate with a pointed glance at him to silently remind him that he should eat to keep his strength up.

Vashity frowns when Arduino has filled her in on the toll that the fighting on Rendili had taken on the ragtag Rebel force that had been sent to Rendili, knowing that if she dwells on it too long she might give in to the temptation to feel at least partially responsible for the lives that were lain down in a vain attempt to save the planet from falling beneath the boot of the First Order; for were it not for the intel she had gathered, none of the lives would have been lost.
Berdine's question, fortunately, prevents Vashity from succumbing to the lure to fall into an examination of the matter of her role in the lives lost in the grand scheme of things, and Vashity reminds herself that not only is it not her place to question the will of the Force, or to understand the often mysterious ways in which it moves, but that to do nothing in the face of evils like the First Order is not an acceptable option. "You know, I really don't know, Vashity replies with a sigh after reflecting on what her next logical step should be. Like most Jedi Investigators, she has a fairly large degree of latitude where determining how to carry out her missions is concerned. Having been tasked with gathering intelligence on First Order movements and passing that intel on to groups like Cherney's Alliance task force that oppose the First Order, Vashity has a dauntingly vast number of First Order held worlds or potential targets to choose from. I might talk to Cherney, see if he has any ideas for me, Vashity eventually says, concluding that the Alliance captain may have received word from his superiors about what their next mission will be. What about you two crazy kids and your buddy? Will you all be sticking with Cherney, or going to the Council for your next assignments?"

Arduino, remembering all too well all that he has witnessed since the First Order attack on Dantooine, says without reflecting on his answer at all and with a level of venom that he himself does not realize enters his tone, "Unless and until I'm given other orders, I intend to continue fighting alongside Captain Cherney and his men." In Arduino's mind there is no need to waste time trying to get in contact with the Jedi Order's High Council when his duty as a Jedi is so clear to him; the First Order is a cancer that has been allowed to spread throughout the universe for too long, an enemy of the Light that he is sworn to protect and uphold as a Jedi.

Though she easily catches the anger in Arduino's voice, Vashity doesn't react visibly to it; she can understand the sentiment well enough even though she has become adept at keeping her own emotional reactions to the things she sees and does in the line of duty, and doesn't see any utility in trying to make it a teaching moment just now for her fellow Jedi when it is probably too soon to do so.
"They'll appreciate the help, I'm sure, Vashity says with a smile. Pointing at the food that Arduino seems to have given up on, she asks, You going to finish that? Looking over at Berdine, she asks, What about you and Master Jyotish?" From what she has seen, Arduino and the other Jedi from Dantooine are a tight knit unit, and so she imagines they will all be sticking together.

Berdine is not particularly surprised by either Vashity or Arduino's plans for what they will do once they have recuperated from the battle of Rendili. Vashity, as a Jedi Investigator that would appear to be tasked primarily with the acquisition of intelligence regarding the First Order, is undoubtedly hoping that Cherney's superiors will be able to give her an idea of where she would be best served in going to gather such intelligence. After what they witnessed on Dantooine and then again on Rendili, Arduino's desire to continue fighting against the First Order is only natural, though Berdine is somewhat taken aback by the depth of anger he evinces when speaking indirectly of the Jedi Order's rather hands off management, thus far, of the threat represented by the First Order.
As she is all too familiar with the anger Arduino must feel, having felt it stirring within herself on more than one occasion, Berdine can sympathize with her comrade even as she feels the faint twinge of concern recognizing it, and the potential danger to them both, causes. Making a mental note to speak to Master Jyotish about her worries, Berdine returns her attention to Vashity, replying to her question in a mildly uncertain tone, "I can't be sure. Glancing at Arduino, she says to let him know that she also would prefer to keep standing against the threat of the First Order, I want to keep fighting, I know that. Having . . . seen all that I have, I couldn't stand not doing something. As for Master Jyotish, I imagine he feels the same. Forcing a smile, she muses aloud, Who knows, maybe we'll all find ourselves working together with Cherney and his troops for a while longer?"

Arduino pats Berdine on the shoulder when she has finished speaking, glad to hear that she is of like mind where continuing the fight against the First Order is concerned as finding that their paths would diverge had been worrying to him, "It sounds as though we'll all need to find the good Captain sooner or later, doesn't it? We might as well all do so together, he suggests, So why don't we do just that once you've both finished eating."

Taking a final bite of the nerf nuggets and buckwheat noodles, Vashity dabs her lips with a napkin and grins as she says in her customarily cheerful tone, "No time like the present, right? I'm ready to see what Cherney has to say if you are. Standing and stretching, she asks after recalling that Jyotish seems to be the defacto leader of the trio of Jedi from Dantooine, Should we find Master Jyotish first?"

Nodding in agreement with Vashity's suggestion that they find Cherney now, Arduino claps his hands and cheerily says, "Why don't we just collect Jyotish along the way then?" Finding Jyotish proves easy enough, and the group then sets out to the makeshift command center where Captain Cherney, Colonel Ua'niall and the other senior ranking members of the battle group are gathered, embroiled in a somewhat heated discussion.
Staying out of the discussion for a moment, as much to give the group time to conclude their business as to try and learn the cause of the upset, Arduino and the others hear together of the recent First Order on Mon Calamari, a victory which has brought an end to the Galactic Alliance and left Cherney and the other officers bereft of any higher authority to answer to; what also becomes clear is that Cherney and the others do not believe that they are no longer without purpose, all resolved to continuing to fight against the First Order, though the manner in which they do so is the cause of some debate. Cherney, having learned of a group based out of Corellia that intends to find allies to fight against the First Order in some fashion that possibly includes under the table support of a rebel faction of some kind, is of the mind that learning more of that option is ideal, while Ua'niall, wary of politicians in general, proposes instead that they seek out the Jedi to learn what other groups may exist that also seek to stand against the First Order.
Cherney, spotting the Jedi quartet, runs a hand through his short brown and grey hair and says, "I guess you heard most of that? Addressing Master Jyotish, who is the highest ranking Jedi among them, Cherney asks the Zabrak, What's your opinion on the matter? You know your Order's thinking better than we do, will they have any better an idea of where we might best be of service than this coalition on Corellia?"

Jyotish, lips pursed in thought as he rests his chin atop his right fist, is silent for a moment before answering Cherney, "Loathe as I am to speak ill of our Order, we have hardly been proactive where the First Order is concerned, have we? Were there any indication that were changing, I would agree with Colonel Ua'niall, but, he lowers his hand from beneath his chin and lifts his hands in front of him, as there is no such indication, I feel we stand the better chance of making ourselves useful sooner by looking into the coalition that you have learned of."
Berdine, wincing internally at the sixty two year old Zabrak's assessment of the Jedi Order even though she cannot truly refute it, nods as she adds her own agreement to his, "I concur with Master Jyotish; turning to our High Council, at best, would likely only delay our search for other ways to continue fighting against the First Order."

Hadur Industries Ground Force Division
Teams worked to continue their productions of the various ground vehicles and weapons seen throughout the galaxy. While the orbital shipyards were seen as the shining gem of Hadur Industries, the reality was that the factories planet-side were just as productive. Anything a customer needed, they could create. And with the idea behind planetary invasions or defense, there was never a lack of orders.
