He is a coward at heart. He will put on a brave face when he can but he will always run. He got his credits, that would be the only thing that he would stick around for. A lot more than this ship is worth. We are much better off without him. Plus he is the kind of guy it is nice to have afraid of you. The young man pauses. He knew he had treated the Rodian poorly. He could have, should have been kinder to him. He was raised better than that. He frowns, realizing that more of his recent surroundings had worn off on him than he would like. I have been apart of the underworld for a bit, I guess I went more native than I intended. If it's ok with you, we should send him additional credits. He did do a good job on getting us out of there.

If you have a way of contacting him, you should give Senator Koronov a heads up. I am sure they weren't alone. Cass makes his way to the cockpit, where he finds the squirming pilot. Well Yelmeck. You have two options it would seem. Stick around and face whatever dangers I plan on facing, Or you can take an escape pod. The choice is yours. We don't have time to stop and let you off. Cass gave a half sincere smile to the Roadian. Yelmeck mumbles as he slinks off to the escape pod. Until next time. Cass waves as the escape pod launches back to the planet. Cass sits in the pilot's chair and turns the co-pilot's chair for Aylee. Have a seat and you can tell me where to go.

If you insist... He threw a hard shove toward the coming troops, enough the stumble them at the distance. He grabs the rifle with the Force, tossing it aside. Before turning to the ship he takes one step toward the fallen guardsman. He throws his saber, it spins and stands on its blade an inch away from his face. The heat burning hair. And just as quickly he pulls it back. Following would not be good for you. The freighter begins its lift off. Cass flips onto the ramp. The saber vanishes into the pack on his back, and the ramp closes. Time to leave, get us to orbit. He turns to the politician's aid. Any idea what that was all about?

Cass tried to hide the smile from his face. I was hoping you would make this choice. Cass said under his breath. With his mind, he hit the Force trigger in the back. The curved silver cylinder dropped into his hand. The second it touched his forehand grip, he tuned it slightly and the cyan blade sprang to life. Swinging his arm and flicking his wrist the saber caught the rifle's first blast, deflecting it back towards its origin at a slightly off angle. The blast slid in front of the second that was aimed at the Twi'lek woman. The two bolts of superheated gas impacted and explodes in a flash of light. Cass spun and flung an outstretched left hand toward the guardsman. four bolts of lightning arced toward the armored man's chest. The armor would take some of the impact and eliminate the chance for the lightning to kill. Cass was looking forward to the fight to take a little time, he wasn't ready to end it yet.
As Cass engaged the focus of the blue clad soldiers the wine of a Corellian engine filled the area. The ship moved to the clearing behind Cass and Aylee. The boarding ramp lowered to a point where it would be an easy jump for a woman to make it in. The lightning had had just stopped arcing to the guard; Cass' eyes still were sparking with the blue electricity. Get in, and get to the lower gun. Let's keep reinforcements from coming shall we?

Cass watches the guardsman and listens too his accusations. He considered telling him that Standash was still the ruling power on the planet, so picking a fight with a friend of hers would only end poorly for the man. And with the fall of the Republic he was little more than a well armed vigilante at this point. All of this he thought about saying, but it was clear to him that the man wouldn't be bothered with facts and logic at this point. Cass stepped in front of the Twi'lek, his right hand just under a thin plasteel case on his back, nestled in the small of his back. If Aylee were to look down at his left hand at his side she would see small white charges of electricity building. Friend, you no longer have any authority here other than what you can force. I am going to give you this moment to walk away and never speak to the lady again. If you choose to continue I can promise you will be dead or at least severely injured within the next few minutes. Now move along. His eyes were filled with an fury waiting to be released, begging the guard to accept the challenge. They also made note of the back up he had within quick sprinting distance. There is no need for you or your friends to get hurt. Maintaining eye contact with the rouge guard, Cass whispers to the Twi'lek woman. When the ship gets here, get inside. Its pilot is a con man yes, but a decent being. He will not hurt you. He will try to get more money out of you, but tell him no. He is too afraid of me to press the issue and I am too valuable to him for him to risk betraying us. It will be ok. Do not join this fight, I can handle it. You might also want to let Dmitri know that he has some unfriendlies looking for him and coming after him.

Cass hears and senses the fire fight a few hangers over. He makes mental note. Multiple combatants, military grade weapons. He extends his awareness to the pack on his back and senses his silver lightsaber in its place in the case. It had been too long since he last used it. Maybe today was the day it would get free. Don't worry, this ship once belonged to a Merc out of Anchorhead. He pulled out his comlink and set it to the desired frequency, Yelmeck... Yes it's me. I am ready to cash in on that favor you owe me. Bring the YT-2400 to the senate hangers, bay G42... Yes that YT-2400... I know that, i have the credits and you are going to give me the friends and family discount... Why? Because if it wasn't for me that ship would still be baking on Tatooine with you locking in its cargo hold that's why... No I will deal Salba if and when the time comes, It's not like I haven't handle him before. Oh and have the ship's registry cleared, I will be naming it myself and I don't want any ill feelings that should be directed at you or Salba... No that you are doing for free... Good we have an agreement, 47,500 credits will work fine, here is the account you can withdraw the funds from... Yes it is a former senator's office, so you know the credits are good... Does it really matter how i got the account? Just make it happen. Tell you what, make it an even 50 if you can have it hear ready to go in 20 min... Don't give me that, we both know it is stocked and ready for space... How do I know that? Because it is the easiest ship you have to run away in, even if it scares you to fly, and a guy like you is always ready to run away. You have 19 min... Good see you then. He put the comlink back on his belt Sorry about that, its done. Will you be ready to do once it gets here? Hearing the escalating firefight. I am not sure how long staying around here will be a safe plan of action.

Cass notices the Republic counselor ships, freighters, and diplomatic vessels all unloading gear. News travels fast it would seem. Unsure as what the future held for them, their crews were unloading everything. It was for sure that Cass and his new friend were not going to be able to take one of those. Given the relations between Corelia and Ryloth, showing up in an official Corellian ship may not be what they needed. Cass didn't have a ship, but he had a contact that could get one. One that was fast, strong, armed, and supplied. It would take a favor and credits. That last part was why Cass hadn't cashed in on it yet. Now things had changed, he had a partner with credits.
It doesn't look like we will be getting out of here on a Republic ship, and If i may say so. A Corellian diplomatic ship may not be what we need. I have a contact that can get us a ship quickly, if we have the credits.

To sum up, we are making sure that Ryloth will be stable given the now defunct leadership here. To see what if any of the old deals are still in play. And finally to find a corrupt former senator and make sure he isn't dead and or running a criminal underground. To accomplish these tasks, diplomacy is preferable, but force and intimidation are not of the table should the need arise.
This is what i signed up for madam.
A porter droid comes over with a small duffle bag. Cass picks it up and tries not to think it contains all of his possessions. 2 spare tunics, some combat armor pieces, data pad, a couple blasters, and targeting hud. His lighsabers, like always, hidden away in the protective case on his back.
Ready when you are, I will follow your lead.

Will you hold enough sway to make things like that happen? You are a Twi'lek but surely you are considered an off worlder at this point. And it is my understanding that Crom'nen and Senator Koronov were not exactly friendly...

From the edges Cass surveyed the hanger. He looked over the area gathering information and understanding. He watched his contact for a few min. He studied her mannerisms. She was anxious, nervous even. Not about this meeting in particular, but the greater workings of the galaxy. Things were changing that much was clear and it didn't take the Force to notice it. There was a new player, someone Cass had been unable to get any real information on, a Princess from Alderaan. This new player had everyone on edge. After observing for a few minutes he walks over to the Twi'lek I believe you are my contact, Secretary Aylee'saresh. Or is it Senator now?

Cass looked up The Csilla one, I am sorry I don't know if i will ever be able to pronounce it. That sounds good. To drink...He looked over the drink menu again. Like the fish he was drawn to a Stout from Chandrila. He also had never tried it but for some reason thought it would be perfect. The Chandrilan stout. Thank you.
Someone that is ready to do what needs to be done. Someone to count on in a time when everyone else is after their own. I am here because I have no place else to be. My loyalties are not for sale, but they are being offered. I have done my research into you, senator, and I know that you are someone I can offer my life too. I don't do this off hand, or because I am desperate. I do this because I see that i can help, and that you are worth helping.

I have not... Cass looked away remembering all the times he had asked. Every time they said, "It is not our secret to tell." My eyes, my dark hair, I always knew I wasn't one of them, but that was all they would ever say. They are very secretive. I have yet to ever find any record of their existence in any database I have looked in. I guess that's what brought me here. At least here, I can be doing something. Not just sitting asking questions that may not have answers that I can find.

I was not. There limitations never fit well with what i was taught, or with the way the galaxy is. I am not gray, or dark, to answer the question that would follow that response. I was trained under a sect of monks in the Unknown Regions. They were devoted entirely to the light side of the force and seeing how strong an individual could become. The word "power" was never spoken there. Power was not the goal, being the best you could be was. I was raised by them from birth, they taught me to better myself at every turn and never rest. The light was always the source of strength. I grew better and better each day, training. The Force was a companion to become a better me. Then I turned 16. I was told that I wasn't one of them. They had made a deal to raise me and train me until I was ready. They never told me who they made this deal with. Now that i was ready I needed to leave and fulfill my destiny. I was reminded that personal power was never the goal, and those that used what they could do to hold power over others were to be fought, and eliminated.
That may have been more than what you asked.
I do things that Jedi would not approve of. Have abilities they call may call evil, but i use them to one end only Justice.

Thank you for meeting with me. Did your assistant tell you anything about me?
Cass asks as he takes his seat across from the Senator. He smiled to himself trying to prepare an answer for the question he knew was coming soon. "What can you do for me, why should I take you on?" These questions should be asked but Cass was still unsure how to answer. How do you tell a respected and powerful Senator, one that will likely soon become leader of the Republic that you are willing to become his spy, enforcer, commander, assassin even. How do you explain to a man that represents a Jedi strong hold world that you are very powerful in the ways of the Force and you embrace the lightside, but you are not now nor will you ever be a Jedi. How do you tell him that you are not a peacekeeper, but a weapon. And mostly if he is as good as people say he is, how do you convince him he needs you. Cass should have had all this figured out by this point, but he didn't. He hoped that the Senator could read him and tell this all about him. Odd, Cass had spent years making it so he couldn't be read now he wanted nothing more than to not have to say anything.
Looking at the menu something caught his eye. It was a fish from Csilla, prepared in Chiss traditions. Cass had never heard of it before nor had he heard of any of the trimmings with it. But he thought it sounded amazing non the less.

The young man extends his hand to the elder statesman. Behind him, Cass takes note of everyone he sees. The running staffers, Jedi some serving a purpose others enjoying their status, guardsmen so bound by red tape they can't act, reporters looking for something true or not to make their career, and tourists. The true wild card, tourists, the other groups were easy to account for, to plan for, but the tourists you couldn't place. They made him nervous.
It is a pleasure to actually formally meet you. Of course.
He wanted a corner seat, it was a reflex, but he couldn't exactly ask for it here in this situation.

Well here he was, back a stone's throw from where this all had started. But hopefully this meeting would be helpful. He waited outside the restaurant waiting for the senator. His curved hilt saber hidden at his back. He had debated not bringing it, but decided he would rather risk getting in trouble again, even in the Senate building this was still a dangerous town. He waited for his hopefully new employer patiently.

I will meet him there. I may have a few things to take care of until thin my lady. He turns to take his leave, but then thinks better of it. He focuses and puts his hannd on his back. He is holding something small. One more thing. With the skill of a seasoned pickpocket he puts the small item in hers Give that to the Jedi, he will know what to do with it.
