On the Edge of the Felucia System
=Theomiir Starstrider= At the edge of the star system, on an inbound vector towards the fourth planet orbiting Felix, the slightly-dilapidated G9 Rigger-class Light Freighter The Purple Phoenix popped out of hyperspace. A proximity alarm blared, and the lone pilot's eyes popped open. He yawned, and his hand slapped the alarm reset. But the ship wasn't content to be quiet for long. Almost immediately, another alarm blared, and a sensor light came on, indicating low pressure in one of the sublight engines. Theomiir groaned, and ignored it. There was nothing seriously wrong, so far as he could tell, and he'd survived half a dozen short planet hops around this part of the Outer Rim in the last nine months, but he really did need to find a decent mechanic soon. The trick was to do it without blowing his cover, or attracting too much of the wrong kind of attention. He was slowly learning that a Jedi Knight could stay off the radar almost indefinitely, but a starship, not so much.
The only reason he had dared to come to Felucia in the first place was that for only the second time since he had parted from Jordaan and Kay'li to cautiously roam this corner of the Outer Rim, he was absolutely certain that the Hirudineans were no longer tracking him or his ship. His presence therefore would not endanger the Jedi who called Felucia home. With the Force as his guide, he hoped to catch up on the latest Jedi and Galaxy events (the stuff that didn't make the outer rim rumor spinners), and maybe even acquire knowledge that could help him make a more informed search for his missing friend. And he wouldn't repeat the mistake he'd made after he left Muunilinst. There would be no hypercom call to Kay'li this time.
The mottled browns and blues of hyperspace had long since faded, and Felucia herself had grown from a pinprick of light to a glowing ball. Theo shook the sleep out of his eyes, and prepared to hail the surface as soon as he was within range. His eyes fell to his transponder, and his eyes narrowed. He pondered which explanation he should use for his presence. He didn't want to lie to a Jedi-aligned world, but he also didn't know if the authorities on Felucia would see that Corellia had reported The Purple Phoenix stolen. Perhaps it was best to explain as little as possible, and let the Felucians ask the questions.

=Theomiir=He was walking a fine line between truths and falsehoods in concealing his reasons for visiting Imperial space, but the Jedi Knight had decided not to outright lie to the Imperial Knight. Instead, he would let the full truth come out slowly, and use it to test the man's reactions, and his attitudes toward the Jedi and toward helping Theo with his twin missions.Smiling, he extended his right hand. "My name is Theo. I'm investigating the disappearance of a Jedi Master. I've exhausted my luck with the Jedi Order. They either don't know anything more, or they are unwilling to help me further." He cringed inwardly. That sounded worse out loud than it had in his head. "So I thought I'd try my luck here instead." He paused, and took a deep breath. "This is one of the only clues I have found so far. Can you tell me anything about it or it's former owner?" He opened his left hand, offering the object to Brock. It was the severed lower half of one of Kel'Al Raganella's lightsabers, with the blue pontite crystal missing. The severed edge was smooth and clean, as if done in one solid cut. This would no doubt prompt a hundred questions, but Theo wasn't going to volunteer the answers. He wanted to see how the Imp thought. Brock suppressed a knowing smile as the visitor mentioned the Jedi being unable to help him. He knew the Jedi were often very self righteous about helping others, however they weren't well known for giving out information to anyone who asked for it. Silently taking the half-saber from the man Brock began with a physical inspection, noting the oddity of it's clean slice as well as the basic internal structure. He noted a few things about it's structure but in truth it didn't give him much information about it's origins aside form a hunch based on the arrangement of some of the wiring.Taking a deep breath the Imperial Knight reached out with his senses, concentrating his focus on the object in his hands. He was not a master of psychometry however in this particular instance he had an advantage. There was a resonance between the broken weapon and the saber on his own belt, not the assembled that all Imperial Knights were issued but the more unique white an gold hilt that his armor's coloring had been based on and dated back to before Brock had even known of the existence of the imperial Knights. Following that thread of familiarity he gathered a flash of this and that, nothing solid but shadows moving on a background of smoke, leaving impressions rather than giving him full scene's of the owner's life. He stands silently in front of the other man with the force swirling around him for a moment as he processes the sense he gets from the weapon before finally opening his brown eyes and holding out the weapon to return to Theo. I am no master of Psychometry however I am certain that that saber is Corellian in origin His left hand briefly brushed his own second saber as he continued. Aside form that I can tell you that this wasn't the only saber your missing master carried, though it was well used. He was still alive when he was separated from it so it's possible that he's still alive. Other than that I only get a vague sense of danger and concern. It's not much but hopefully that gives you a few more hints to work on. The Imperial Knight had no ill will toward the Jedi and hoped that he would be found well and with all his limbs intact, in truth what impressions he got let Brock to believe he'd probably like the man if he ever got the chance to meet him in person. Some time ago...=Theomiir=The young man waiting patiently while Brock examined the damaged saber hilt. The Imperial's reactions and earnest responses quickly set the Jedi Knight at ease. Even as he suppressed his presence in the Force and therefore could not easily read the Imp, he knew enough about human (and Imperial) psychology to know that he was in no immediate danger from the Imperial Knight before him. When Brock had finished, Theo smiled slightly and reached out, gently taking the broken hilt back from the man. "Thank you. That is our assumption as well, from other evidence. We believe he was captured alive, by parties unknown, out in the Unknown Regions. After that, the trail goes cold." Bit by bit, as they conversed, the story came out, until it was obvious who Theo was (also a Jedi Knight of Corellia) and his intentions to search Imperial space for any further clues as to the whereabouts of Kel'Al Raganella. He listed off several specific planets as examples, but he knew ultimately the Force would be his guide, not guesswork. For his part, Brock re-assured Theo that the presence of a Jedi in Imperial space on personal business was not illegal and would not attract any undesired attention. In fact, the Imperial seemed somewhat tickled at the presence of a Corellian Jedi on High Port, and hinted that Theo should visit the Imperial Knights again someday, although he did not reveal why. While Theo did not reveal that Garqi, itself now an Imperial territory, was his homeworld, he suspected the Imperial Knight had guessed as much. Perhaps they had more in common than the young Jedi had realized. There was something strangely familiar about the man. With much to contemplate and his horizons expanded, Theo departed High Port and resumed his unending quest for the missing Jedi master.

If I say Emelia stepped down a month ago but crowning a new Queen Mother has been delayed by Coalition military action/responsibilities, would that about cover it? And then you can step in whenever you're ready.

If Li'nara still wants to write the Queen Mother, I am fine with that. I was going to suggest we write things as if Emelia had just abdicated, but a new Queen Mother has not been crowned yet. I'm happy to adjust the details of that to fit everyone else's plans.
All I ask is that the new Queen Mother continues to financially and diplomatically support my medical RP, which is a collaboration between the Five Worlds Medical Center on Selonia, the Hapan Royal Family, and possibly other governments.
We were going to work on security and cost savings for kolto and bacta shipments from the Inner Rim to Selonia (and potentially elsewhere in the Core).
I would think the entire IRI could benefit from that project, actually.

It turns out there is more interest in Hapes among the CC remnants than I expected. I will be in touch once we sort that out. But I don't expect that to conflict with your plans.

Within the Transitory Mists, not far from one of the few safe pathways through the ion cloud that had been properly and officially mapped, sat Telkor Station. The shadowport was a way place for more and less reputable individuals with business on the edges of Hapan space. One's presence here did not dictate that they were engaged in criminal enterprise, but certainly the smugglers and bounty hunters who flew the Mists could be found here. It was an unusual juxtaposition: both remote from the attention of the Hapan authorities, and right in the middle of Hapan commerce with the rest of the galaxy. And it was this contradiction that was about to cause a deadly mix.=Jax Durron=On C deck, a white-haired human strode into Telkor's main cantina, and sank into a decaying booth with a heavy sight. Avoiding making eye contact with the three Aqualish playing what appeared to be a custom variant of sabaac in the next both, he drew out his datapad, and began reviewing the navigational data again. "Blast it." He griped under his breath. The math was right, he didn't have enough fuel to get all the way home to Arkania. He was going to need to find some work here on Telkor, or sell some of his cargo, and gamble on replacing it later.=Bartender="Greetings, sir." A feminine voice at Jax's elbow said sweetly. "May I get you something?" =Jax Durron=The Arkanian's head jerked up in surprise to see a yellow-skinned Twi'lek standing over him. "Huh? Oh." He smiled as he realized who she was. "Yes please, bring me a Deltron spiced wine." As she nodded and disappeared, he turned his attention back to the datapad, and then to the other patrons of the cantina. He was still searching for a likely contact to approach when he caught sight of a massive object moving outside one of the station's viewports. An asteroid almost double the size of his ship was tumbling straight toward them. Jax stared, transfixed, unable to move, feeling as if all reality was in slow motion.

=C3-P9= Cee-Three was slightly taken aback by some of their reactions, but did his best to cover over any awkwardness. Please to meet you, Niam Althacorr. He replied to the Arkanian, before continuing his prissy introduction to the group at large. I am Cee-Three Pea-Nine, at your service. I will be your guide during your stay on Corellia. If there's anything you need, please ask at once.
The protocol droid bent his legs, lowering himself closer to Roma's level. He appreciated the directness of the girl's question. It was a very logical approach, even if the answer ought to have been obvious. Er, well, your namesake was a very good friend to me, so I was honored to hear that you carry her name, and I have looked forward to meeting you ever since. He explained. His silvery head glittered as Corell's light struck it. I have some great stories to tell you about Master Serrin Roma. And the droid was fully capable of making those stories take many hours longer than necessary, but he would never admit that last part.

Just wanted to let you fine folks know I'm going to be retiring Marcus and handing the FedDub over to my friends on Corellia (Mike and Kel'al). Any of my custom submissions will still be available for the Coalition to use. Roger that.

=C3-P9= Forty-three seconds before the appointed time, the academy's silvery protocol droid exited the halls of the Corellian Jedi, and began to make his way through the meditation garden, expertly making the most efficient use possible of the curved and meandering paths and walkways as he searched for his visitors. His servomotors hummed softly and in timed unison, evidence of the effectiveness of the oil bath he had enjoyed earlier in the day. He passed Knight Starfield, who appeared to be deep in meditation, and, rounding a large, thickly-branched sweet-smelling Naboo pine tree, he found himself face to face with a young girl and an older woman. Behind them, four other adults of various races were waiting.
Greetings, my new friends. Cee-Three addressed them in his prissiest voice. And welcome to the Corellian Academy. I trust that your trip from Felucia was smooth? Leaving no time for a response to this question, he looked down at the child. You must be Roma. I've been looking forward to meeting you.

A number of minutes passed, and Temil began to assume that he would not get an immediate response today. However, just as he was losing hope, the gentle, bubbly haze that passed for hold noise formed into a holo of the Health Minister herself. It seemed that his royal connections still held their value after all.
=Health Minister= Hello Doctor Djo. The middle-aged woman with long, flowing golden hair said simply, a disapproving look on her face. She wasn't entirely happy to have favors called in, but she'd double-checked and this doctor was indeed the grandson of the famed Lord Protector of the Queen Mother's youth. She could spare five minutes for such a man, and then she would decide. I am Minister Renner. What is this proposal you wish to make, and why is it worth the Queen Mother's time?
=Dr. Djo= Thank you for your time, Your Excellency. He bowed slightly, but not too much. The Hapan Royal Medical Service and the Five Worlds Medical Center have been partners for decades, and once upon a time, the Queen Mother sponsored entire medical fleets. I wish to request that She fund a similar project, to help ensure the medical security of the coalition. We propose to build a new fleet of ships to transport bacta from Thyferra and kolto from Manaan to the Hapan Cluster, the Five Worlds, and anywhere else within the Coalition, or her allies, that might need assistance. With your blessing, I would like an audience to pitch the idea to the Queen Mother herself.
=Minister Renner= The woman's disapproving look had slowly melted away as Temil put forward a surprisingly serious proposal. You have my attention. What's in it for the Queen Mother?
=Dr. Djo= Temil smiled. He had left that detail for last on purpose. An excellent question, ma'am. First of all, we would cut the cost and improve the reliability of shipments to Hapes. Second, we would like to name the flagship after Her Majesty, in honor of her lifetime of friendship with the Corellian people.

=Dr. Djo= The Hapan smiled encouragingly as the Senator struggled to find the words to respond, waiting patiently as the short, serious man made his best effort. His face brightened as the man managed to utter four intelligible words. That he was speaking at all was a significant improvement from the reports that has circulated when Hu was first transferred to Selonia, and a testament both to the Senator's iron will, and the skill of the medical center's best speech therapists.
"Excellent. I am glad to hear it." He looked around the courtyard, his eyes falling on the tri-species statue by the fountain. "The beauty of this place is a big part of what first drew me here from Hapes." He got a distant look in his eye for a second, as he thought about his grandfather, the first member of his family to visit the Core Worlds as a Senator in the Galactic Republic. It was somewhat ironic that now he was here, checking up on the care of another Senator. The handshake had told him quite a bit about how far their famous patient had yet to go, but no patient wants to be endlessly reminded of that fact. "Just appreciate each day's progress, and before you know it, you'll be out of here."

Upon final completion of the build-out validation checks and quality control inspections for the FAF, with all test cases passed and all certifications accredited by the shipyards' independent inspectors, the chief engineer's report was forwarded to the CDF, alongside the flight worthiness certificate for the first-in-class vessel. The report detailed every inch of the vessel's as-build specifications, and all engineering changes that had been made to the original blueprints provided by the Raganella Family Trust. Vance Waterpool was also notified, as trustee and chief legal counsel for the Trust, as were the top executives of the Corellian Engineering Corporation, and local and Coalition holonet news media. Once the CDF dispatched a provisional commander and bridge crew, the vessel would be launched for air- and space-worthiness trials and training, then released for active duty in the CDF navy.=Cmdr. Bretton="After you." Bretton replied, opening the door to the shipyard's main public entrance. =Carla=Looking up from her terminal, the Duros receptionist smiled as the pair of CDF officers entered the CEC lobby. "Good morning, sirs! Please, help yourselves to a cup of stimcaf, I just put a new pot out." She gestured to a small table to the left of the doors. "Let me know if you need anything else."

The flagship vessel of the new Corellian Fast Attack Frigate line was nearing completion. After weeks of work, the interior buildout was structurally complete, and the final space-worthy polish was being applied to all interior and exterior features. While there were no literal bells and whistles, there were plenty of small features to paint, and indicator lights to install, and signs and control panels that needed their wires tucked out of sight. CEC was preparing for a final walkthrough of the vessel, and there was a scramble to clean up not only the ship itself, but the surrounding work yard, in preparation for the arrival of CEC and CDF VIPs for an inspection tour.
Weapons installation and testing were a check.
Propulsion was a check.
Life support was a check, with an extra note from CEC's independent medical consultants from the Five Worlds Medical Center.
Navigation was a check, although the CDF navigational software had not yet been loaded. The maneuvering outriggers had been tested in a wind tunnel and in a vacuum simulation, to ensure the expected craft agility ratings. Just about everything that could be tested, had been, aside from the hyperdrive, for obvious reasons.
It wouldn't be long now. The FAFtest ship in the Core was on its way (or so the cheesy marketing slogans proclaimed).

A transmission from the Core arrived in the Fountain Palace's central communications hub, and was routed to the health ministry.
=Dr. Temil Djo= A holo of a perfectly ordinary Hapan man in scrubs blinked into existence, and his message was recorded for the Palace record. Greetings Minister, this is Dr. Temil Djo of the FIve Worlds Medical Center. As a proud member of the Hapan Royal Medical Service, I wish to request an audience with her majesty the Queen Mother, to discuss a proposal for expanding the role of the HRMS here on Selonia. He paused, bowing reverently. He knew he was not of the favored gender. That was one reason he had left home. But his family had a special connection to the royal one, and Emilie Ka would not have forgotten her Lord Protector. Years ago, my grandfather Willis served the Queen Mother, and Her Mother, in one of their darkest hours. Please allow me to serve you likewise, and in a much more hopeful hour. Thank you.
=Health Minister's Assistant= Acknowledged, Doctor. I will bring your request to the attention of the Health Minister. The woman said simply, but respectfully.

Work continued on the first Corellian Fast Attack Frigate, the pace of construction unabated except for a brief three day delay due to a massive series of thunderstorms that shook the entire area and made it somewhat dangerous to be working among large metallic objects. After weeks of effort, the entire hull had been assembled and passed all initial inspections. Future ships would be manufactured in a fraction of the time, once procedures had been standardized, and once the shipyard workers had learned the intricacies of the new design. But this first one would take many weeks to complete.
With the outer hull complete, work began to lay each deck, test its structural integrity, and begin assembling interior hatches and bulkheads to properly distribute weight throughout the ship and preserve its integrity not just at Corellia's gravity, but also in the vacuum of space, and on planets with heavier gravity.
The weapons specialists had not been slowed by the storms, as their work was largely indoors, and the heavy ion cannon was complete, awaiting installation.
Meanwhile, the entire propulsion system of the craft had been constructed at one-hundredth scale and tested in various laboratory environments, until it stopped exploding and starting to be controllable. Such a fast ship would require intricate precision in its main engines and maneuvering thrusters. For a final test, the model was taken to space and tested in zero-gee at the orbital shipyards. With significant sales of the new Frigate to the Coalition expected, no expense was spared in ensuring that the craft would meet both the safety and performance standard that CEC had set for generations.

Sitting down by the fountain to catch his breath Jacques stared at the arcs in the water letting the sound of the water ground him. Since transferring here from the Red Dawn Medical Center he had taken to walking around courtyard as a way to get out of the general hospital and to help pass the time. There was a time when he could have walked around this entire facility for hours on end. When he had first transferred here it winded him just to walk to the end of the hall and now he was able to walk the courtyard with only a few breaks. Sighing he tapped his cane impatiently on the ground drawing looks from a family of Drall. For a moment he considered throwing it at them, but squashed that quickly. Standing up he began walking again before he changed his mind. =Dr. Temil Djo=Catching sight of the politician, Temil recognized him from press coverage, even though they had never met. As a mid-level member of the hospital's management, he was kept appraised of their more notable guests. Temil made a u-turn in his slow walk across the central courtyard, and approached the fountain, nodding to the man respectfully. "Senator." The handsome man in his late twenties said. "It is good to see you up and outside." He smiled, his blond hair rippling in a slight breeze, and extended his right hand. "I am Temil Djo, an assistant medical director here at Five Worlds." One of his tasks was external relations, a category into which ensuring the best care possible for a Coalition Senator would certainly fall.He looked the man up and down with a critical eye. "How has your stay been thus far? I trust you're been well cared-for?"

The villages of Drall had remained quiet after the fall of the Galactic Republic, and the rise of the Corellian Coalition had continued that quiet stability, even as the Coalition grew beyond its original size, and the brief dream of an independent Corellian Sector faded into another regional government. For all practical purposes, while not as centrally organized or as weighed down with bureaucracy as the previous Republic, the Coalition was almost as large, and was perceived the same way as it's predecessor by many Drall: an unfortunate foreign commitment that brought extra militarization to the Corellian system, and left Drall vulnerable by association to a war not of its own volition. Not all Drall opposed the Coalition, and still fewer would openly speak ill of it, but the fact remained: strict Drall pacifism and the existence of a regional government were at odds. Even all of Senator Hadrig's peacemaking efforts in the Republic Senate had never fully bridged this gap, and he had not remained in office long after the formation of the Coalition. Now, as the Coalition grew, and a less well respected Senator was in office, with less real power to force deals, the grumbling became a little more audible in the streets of Mastigophorous and its sister villages. Drall was for the Drall, they said, and the Corellian sector was for the Corellians. The philosophy was debated at dinner tables, and in libraries, and in classrooms. All they lacked was organization, and a specific course of action to make their point.
