Selonia was an industrial world, comprising many small islands surrounded by a global ocean. However, to circumvent this obstacle, the Selonians dug an elaborate network of tunnels under the planetary surface, thus facilitating contact among their peoples. The planet's oceans were rumored to be the habitat of sea monsters, since it was said that only Selonia's oceans were large enough to accommodate these creatures. Selonian "dens" and tunnels ran through much of the planet's crust and mantle, while orbital shipyards operated above.

=Shawna= The CorSec officer looked sceptical as she emerged from the tunnel, her glossy coat shining as it caught the first early morning rays of Corel's light. The tawny Selonian looked left, right, up, and down as she scanned the barren sand and scrubby vegetation of the small island. There was not a sentient in sight anywhere. A disruption on the Baymore beach, the caller had said. Right. Likely story. No one bothered to come here to sunbathe until there was enough sun to bathe in. It smelled like another false emergency call, but like all the other calls in the last week, CorSec had to investigate. It never paid to let their guard down. It was better to follow a hundred false leads than to let one genuine call for help go unaided.
Shawna sniffed, and turned to leave.

As a moonless world, Selonia's tidal patterns were unusual when compared to much of the rest of the galaxy, however, the oceans were not stagnant cesspools, despite what some students on other planets were taught about the consequences of not having a moon. Rather, Selonia's oceans had small daily tides caused by the tug of Corell herself, with minor deviations caused by the planets proximity to Corellia and Drall. In addition, due to being a planet almost entirely covered by water, all volcanic activity affected the oceans, creating ocean currents based upon heat differences, and tidal waves from undersea upheaval or lava flows running down from the Cloudland Peaks. It was all quite complex, as most planets are.

Frog Squadron, Over the Northern Hemisphere
Lt. Mandolin peered through the transparisteel shroud of her saucer-shaped bomber, and caught her breath as the jagged shapes of the Cloudland Peaks suddenly came into view. Jutting majestically out of the cloudy haze below, the tallest moutaintops in the Corell system glistened purple and brown and silver as the sun rose.
The northern route was a favored atmo training route of her YT-5100 bomber squadron, and this morning's view didn't disappoint.
Leading the V-formation, the Selonian waggled her ship from side to side, and then dove straight toward the peaks.
Over the comm, an excited voice behind her screamed YAA-HOOOOOO

Kainoa Den
Maleko, one of the fertile males of Queen Alamea, scratches behind a glossy brown furred ear as he yawns while returning from his latest attempt to impregnate the Queen to the sept where all of his offspring live together in the Queen's large, sprawling and lavishly decorated underground dwelling. Even though he is considered to be the choicest breeding male among Queen Alamea's trio of fertile males, due to the strength, intelligence and attractiveness of all of his offspring so far, Maleko is treated by the Queen and nearly all of the infertile females trained to perform duties ranging from cooks to guardswomen of the Den with the same dismissive or disdainful air. Only Kiana, his sister, who is one of the select few infertile females trained to deal with Humans and aliens, has ever treated Maleko with anything close to warmth and kindness. As Kiana is often away from the Den, meeting with existing or prospective clients of Queen Alamea's Security Services company throughout the Five Worlds, Maleko does not get to see her as often as he would like.
When Maleko reaches the sept after traveling through the tunnels leading from the Queen's chambers, passing only a few guardians of the Den along the way given the late hour in the evening, he smiles when he sees that one of his younger daughters, Iolana, only five and still yet to acquire the typical Selonian female views on the way males are viewed and to be treated, though he knows she will eventually, has fallen asleep on a sofa in the main living area. Careful not to wake Iolana, Maleko gently picks her up and carries her to the room she shares with one of her sisters, tucking her in before going to his own room to sleep.

CDF Fort Tir'mal
Kaniehtiio, a tawny brown and white furred, sterile female Selonian, selected at birth to be trained to deal with humans and aliens, had always dreamed of being a warrior and so had enlisted in the CDF as soon as she had been able to do so. Having served with the CDF first as an infantryman, Kaniehtiio graduated from Advanced Infantry Training in the top ten of her class, and later completed training in the CDF's Airborne Infantry School, where she demonstrated an aptitude for marksmanship and stealth that led to her being assigned the role of a sniper after she successfully completed the CDF's Scout Sniper School. During the course of her career with the CDF, Kaniehtiio has participated in missions ranging from reconnaissance, observation and long-range engagements.
Kaniehtiio, after meeting with Fort Tir'mal's CO to discuss the possibility of her being assigned to a special forces unit, as yet to be fully approved by the Five Worlds leaders, that would be detached to fight alongside the New Rebel Alliance, should their leaders accept the offer which has yet to be made, returns to her quarters and disassembles and cleans her MK sniper rifle as she mulls over the idea of accepting the assignment should the proposed unit ever become a reality. Though she has been on many off-world missions throughout the fifteen years she has spent in the CDF, a part of Kaniehtiio feels as though accepting the position would mean abandoning her homeworld even though she knows that the NRA's fight against the First Order means that she would still be doing what she can to ensure that the proverbial boot of the First Order never gets the chance to step on the neck of Selonia, or any other world. It is that last thought that ultimately makes Kaniehtiio decide that, if the unit in fact is formed and accepted by the NRA, she will eagerly sign up to be a part of it.

CDF Fort Tir'mal
Walking beside the taller human male with a bushy brown beard and sleepy looking bloodshot eyes that he had been met by and introduced to after landing in the fort's hangar bay, CDF Lieutenant Dyami, a 36 year old Drall with brown fur covering all but the area around his nose and eyes, chuckles and says, "Heini, huh? High school must have been really fun for you."
Bobbing his shaggy head in agreement, Heini drawls, "Yeah man, totally, then shrugs with a grin, I made it through it though, so, ya know, s'all good. So, he looks down at the tiny Drall, you're our doc, right?"
"That I am," Dyami confirms, waiting for the medical question that typically follows on the heels of the query.
"Cool man, Heini replies rather than asking the expected question, then pulls a pair of shades from the breast pocket of his tactical vest and puts them on as he says, So, like we're still waiting on our last dude to get here. Supposedly, he looks around as though concerned they might be overheard, our pilot is a Jedi, he nods, Yup, from Corellia."
"Interesting, Dyani says, I didn't think they did this kind of thing anymore. Haven't, he muses, heard of them doing much of anything, really, in recent times."
Shrugging, Heini nods his chin towards the barracks their unit has been assigned, sagely advising the tiny Drall, "Can't believe everything you hear on the holonews, or don't hear as the case may be, little guy. I'm sure some have been doing their thing out there, but, you know, they don't want us to know about it, so don't let the news outlets report on it."
Not sure who the demolitions expert is referring to when he says they, Dyani guesses, "The Jedi? Why wouldn't th . . ."
"Nah man, Heini says, looking around once more to make sure no one is listening, You know, them. The ones behind the screen pulling all the strings."
"Oh, right, Dyani agrees, knowing better than to argue with a conspiracy theorist, Them."
Tapping the side of his nose to let the Drall know he has gotten it, Heini pulls open the barracks door and says, "C'mon, I'll introduce you to our sniper and our slicer."

CDF Fort Tir'mal
The last member of the special operations team to arrive, a Jedi from the academy on Corellia, is Benedicte Proulx, a 30 year old brunette native Corellian Jedi Knight with a talent for and love of piloting shared by her co-pilot, a Wookie named Baqi'hansaka that pledged a life debt to Benedicte after she had saved him from slavers that had captured him several years ago and who has been her constant companion ever since.
Benedicte and Baqi'hansaka set their YT-2000 light freighter, the Lepota, down on one Fort Tir'mal's landing pads and, upon disembarking from the vessel, are met by Kaniehtiio, the Selonian sniper, and Dyami, the Drall medic who are also members of the special forces team that has now been fully assembled. Dyami, the more talkative of the pair that greet the Jedi Knight and her Wookie co-pilot, chatters animatedly as he and Kaniehtiio show the duo around the barracks and training facilities on the CDF base where they will be staying and training together until Diktat Gaultieri, who has put the team together so that they can, when she succeeds in her quest to make contact with the New Rebel Alliance leadership, fight alongside the valiant Rebels.

CDF Fort Tir'mal
Jedi Knight Proulx, once notified by Diktat Gaultieri that her search for the NRA leaders has finally met with success and that she and her team are to make their way to The Aarushi in order to join up with them as planned, has her team assemble their gear and board the Lepota with all possible haste in order to make it to the rendezvous as swiftly as possible.
As Benedicte and Baqi'hansaka, her Wookie co-pilot and best friend, are prepping their YT-2000 for flight, Kaniehtiio, the female Selonian sniper that is the first to board the ship after getting her gear together and stowing it aboard the Lepota, leans against the wall behind the pilots as she blows a gum bubble and, after it has popped, says, "Rest of the team's just about ready, rubbing her left ear as she adds, Had some trouble getting Heini up, but after the Doc gave him a pot of caf he's finally up and moving."
Benedicte, shaking her head, smiles as she asks, "Why am I not surprised? Everyone on the team by now well aware of their sapper's love of Ossus Kush, Benedicte hopes that Heini is disciplined enough not to indulge in his habit when on the clock, but tells Kanie only half-jokingly all the same, Have the doc give Heini a stim-shot if he looks like he's been enjoying his favorite past time too much, I'd like to make as good a first impression as we can when we meet this General Endor."
Not long after she and Baqi have completed their pre-flight checks and the red-eyed sapper has managed to get himself and his gear stowed away, Benedicte takes the Lepota up and begins the relatively short trip to Drall.
