As Aleena continued to meditate, questions began to run through her mind. All of which pertained to what she desired and the power she craved. However, it wasn't a question about what she wanted, but more along the lines of the way she should go about it. She wished to rule the minds of others and wished to have many abilities over it, but the question was how to proceed having power over others? Should she just control them completely? Maybe break their minds through fear? Even still the possibilities of simple persuasion. Even with how she wished to progress, the question rang at the front of her mind.
Opening her eyes, she took a deep breath before speaking.
"Master, how do you approach ruling the mind of another? Do you simply break them from the start? Or do you slowly work on them, starting with simple persuasion?"
Her voice was soft, questioning, though it wasn't with the tone of uncertainty, other than the hint from simply trying to understand her own approach.

He opened his eyes and looked at his apprentice. His voice seemed distant, his mind still emerging from the deep mediation.
"You can do both. There are a lot of factors that are involved in taking control of another's mind. The biggest one is their will. If they are weak-minded, breaking into thier head is a simple task. But if they've been trained to defense against tactics, it takes a lot more effort and focus. If you try to break them on the start, the results would be faster but takes a lot more energy. If they're not caught off guard, you better have a back up plan. If you decide to be stealthy about it and take your time, it takes longer, requires equal amounts of concentraion and seems to be more successful. But with more time, comes more chances of error. One slip and all of your work is in vain. You have to be able to catch them off guard."
He stood up, a couple of joints popping from his extended period of stillness. He rolled his shoulders and his neck as he looked down at his apprentice. Immediately he attacked, hoping to catch Aleena off guard, as that was the point he was trying to make. Mental fingertips lashed out against Aleena's mind, seeking to shatter any defenses should she be able to get them up in time. Being far more experienced, Andor knew her defense was futile, but to succeed, one must try and try again.*
*If Andor broke in, Aleena would feel her body longing to stand up and to walk over and grab a Sith Training Saber off the weapons rack to her right. She wouldn't have any control of her body, as Andor was controlling it for her.

She listened to his words as he spoke, letting them sink in. It wasn't quite what she was aiming for when she asked him, but they were words worth listening to to help her own skills.
When she was about to speak up to clarify what she was asking, she felt Andor's attack. She hadn't been prepared for it despite her choice to stay on guard around him. She tried to resist, though it was, indeed, futile. She had no true understanding of how to form a barrier around her mind or to simply resist another's attack. She tried to push back, only her will as a defense.
She continued to try and fight as her body stood on its own. He had control, but her consciousness hadn't been broken, at least not completely. She wouldn't let herself become a slave to another will. She could see the point of his attack, working to strengthen her own focus and will to keep others out of her head. However, at the moment, it was a little worth. The only thing other than what resistance Andor could feel in her mind would be the slightest of jolts in her movements as she took the training saber of the rack.

Andor could feel his apprentice attempting to resist, trying to force him out of her mind. But he had already snagged on, forcing her to walk over and grab a weapon of the rack. As she would turn to face Andor, she would hear his voice in his head.
"If you can't force an opponent out, look at the problem from a different perspective." He willed Aleena to spin the blade, which would result in her holding it in a reverse grip. From there (If she hadn't stopped him yet), her arms would strain to extend in front her, gripping the handle of the blade in both hands, the tip pointing at her stomach. "Regain control. Find the Darkness and embrace it." Andor visibly stood still, his hands clasped in his robes, his electric blue eyes staring his apprentice down. He seemed perfectly at ease, as Aleena's defense was untrained and practically non-existant.*
*There were countless ways Andor could teach Aleena, but this approach always yielded the best results. It was like diving head first into a pool without knowing how to swim. Soon enough, instincts kick in and you find a way to survive, or you die. And that was the way of the Sith.

Aleena turned and gripped the saber as Andor had made her. The power he had over her was unreal. Despite how well trained he was and how untrained she was, it still amazed her at the power. It made her want it more.
As she tried to fight back, she heard his voice in her head. She had not realized yet the ability to speak with the Force, but it didn't phase her as she listened. A different perspective? She wasn't sure what to think in that manner. All she could think was force Andor out. Was there another way? The only thing coming to her mind outside of forcing him out was trapping his mind in hers or somehow sealing or separating it. But how? Was it even possible?
When he forced hr to hold the saber as if to stab herself, fear slowly started creeping back. All she knew was he had control of her mind and she was holding a sword to herself. She knew nothing how the blade and if it could even truly harm her, but it didn't matter. Once again, she feared for her life. In that moment, she let the words he had heard before ring in her head.
~Use your emotions, let them build and unleash. Find the darkness, embrace it, and let flow.~
She let the thought ring in her head as she embraced the fear. If there was any instinct that was so great, it was the survival instinct. The fear it brought, the anger that came behind it towards the one that threatened her. Only in these moments had her emotions ever been worth anything. Her hands began to shake as she fought back. The darkness she remembered, the darkness she felt while in the Sanctum, pulling out her emotions was starting to build in her. Her mind flashed back to a few days prior when she first met him and he made it seem like he aimed to kill her. She remembered her feels and tried to pull on them.
Slowly, her eyes began to change, turning from green to red. She might not have the power to defend herself against him in a one on one confrontation, but she refused to let him rule her and kill herself. She began to push, letting her mind embrace the darkness that began coursing through her. She began to wonder on another thought as she fought to hold him back. Could she enter his mind while he was in hers? Would that leave her defenseless? All she needed to break his control was just a jolt in the path between their minds, or so she thought.
Finally, she opted for separating him from her mind. If she could form a barrier between her mind and his, he would be cut off. In order to do this, she had to begin by momentarily cutting off his connection, at least in particular aspects. The first and foremost was control over her movements, hers arms most of all. She sharpened her focus the best she could from her training with the orbs. She would have to move swiftly a so she attempted it, sharpening her focus and slicing at his connection like a blade, hoping it would work, and using the Force to spread a barrier over the areas that began breaking free.

Andor snickered as Aleena's emotions began to augment, slowly consuming her as the darkside pooled in her veins. As he mentally commanded for Aleena to stab herself with the blade, his mind hit a wall. He pushed against it, trying to break through and regain dominance over his apprentice's mind. Sure, he could have exerted more effort and snapped it like a toothpick, but that was not Andor's intentions. His intention was for her to instinctively retaliate against a strictly metaphysical battle, and to be able to hold her own.*
*Not but a second later, Andor's connection was severed as Aleena threw up a proficient mental barrier. Through the power of the darkside, Aleena had successfully cleansed her mind of Andor's presence. The Sith Lord stood on the opposite side of the room, staring at his apprentice.
"Well done, My Apprentice. You've taken the first steps to protecting your mind against the invasion of others. Always keep it defended and always be prepared. I will periodically check your progress, and each time, I'll go harder on you than the previous time."
His hands removed from his robes and in his right hand, he had unclipped his black lightsaber hilt from its harness that was strapped to his forearm. "You have successfully completed your first true task underneath my teachings. As is the customary way of the Sith and for our relationship as Master and Apprentice to become complete, I must bestow upon you the title of Darth. Only then will you truly walk the path of the Sith.
He motioned for Aleena to approach him, his voice becoming much darker and sinister. "Come. Kneel before your master."

As Andor separated himself from her mind, she let out a few heavy breaths. Even a strain mentally could wear a person out. But Andor had considered her attempt successful. Very true it would be nothing to control her, but she was able to protect herself from his current attempt. As he gave her her praise for being successful, she stood straight and returned the saber to a regular grip at her right side.
When he spoke, she took in his tone as it changed. In response, her appearance became more calm, her eyes, while returning to their green, held the darker tone. She approached him, her steps as she would carry herself in the presence of others, calm, sure, and seductive. It was the person she was to become. Standing before him, she dropped to a knee, her right being up as both hands rested in fists at her side.

Snap-Hiss!*
*The crimson blade shot out of the emitter, humming eerily in the silence. Andor let it hover just centimeters above Aleena's left shoulder. "From this moment forth, you will abandon the name of Aleena Mirax." The blade lowered, searing into the top of Aleen's left shoulder. Andor held it there for a second, where he then lifted the blade up and over her head, letting it rest above her other shoulder. "You will leave the ways of your past and rise from its ashes. Embrace the power of the darkside. Embrace my teachings. Embrace the power of the darkside!" The lightsaber would then lower until it burned into Aleena's right shoulder. The blade would then deactivate, leaving his apprentice his pain from the two identical burns on both shoulders.
"Rise, my apprentice. Rise and become...." He paused for effect. Darth Luxeria."

When Aleena heard the sound of his saber come to life, she wanted to look up, wanted to jump back. But she remained knelt before him, head bowed. If he really wished to kill her or harm her, he wouldn't waste time letting his intentions be known. She did, however, tense up when she felt its heat just above her shoulder.
She listened to his words, wondering what he meant when she would abandon her name. Was she to not have a name while training? Did she have to beat him in order to gain a name of some importance. She winced but held her place as she felt the saber burn into her shoulder, then move to her other side to do the same. It was painful, an easy way to understand what a lightsaber was capable of. But she remained quiet, feeling the blade leave her shoulders finally and deactivate.
Now his final words, her new name. So it was a ceremony of sorts, a means of gaining a new identity as a Sith. But she wondered why she should give up her name. She liked the new name. It sounded like the name of a goddess, perfect for what she desired. She had no problem leaving her past behind her, yet she could see value in keeping it handy. She rose slowly and looked Andor in the eyes, a small dark smile rising on her lips.
"Yes, Aleena Mirax exists no more, for I am Darth Luxeria."

The lightsaber deactivated and Andor returned it to his sleeve. He took a step back from Luxeria and he held out his skeletal white hand. One the weapons rack across the room, a second training blade rose into the air. With a flick of his hand towards his chest, the blade blurred as it shot across the room, barely missing his apprentice's head as it passed by. He caught it by its hilt and broke into movement.*
"En garde." He smirked as he performed a simple, but precise, thrust to Luxeria's midsection.

Luxeria had no time to react when the blade flew passed her head. All she gave was a blink of the eyes at the movement of wind that came rushing by. She needed to keep that demeanor as she progressed through her training and interaction. She had to intimidate those who didn't know her and stand strong against those that were above her.
His words were the only thing to give her any warning to the attack. As he made his thrust, she stepped to her right a bit as the blade in her right hand came up. She gripped it with both hands as she blocked and pushed it over to her left side, blade pointing straight up. Never before had she been in any kind of combat. Anything she did was instinctual and rough. But she needed to learn and the time to start was now.

Andor was surprised by his apprentice's instinctive reaction as she successfully deflected his first strike, even with his sudden warning. Luxeria moved to his left as she wielded her weapon. In a clash of metal on metal, Andor's sword was redirected to his right. But he went with it, stringing in a second attack. As his blade went to the right, he pivoted clockwise on his right foot, his back turning to face Luxeria. As he turned, Andor fully extended his left leg, hoping to make contact with her right ankle, sweeping her from her feet and knocking her to the ground.*
*As he reached the 360 degree mark and faced his apprentice yet again, Andor sliced downwards (hopefully she's laying on the ground now), aiming to slash into her right leg at the mid point between her knee and hip. If the blade made contact, it would slice the skin open and its toxin-coated blade would cause paralysis in her leg, giving the illusion that it had indeed been severed completely.

As Andor made his move, something seemed weird to Luxeria. Somehow, she was able to feel what he was about to do and how he was going to attack. She'd say she could see it but, but feel made more sense. However, it was still a little foggy to her and a bit slow. Was it an ability of the Force, letting her feel what her opponent was going to do? It was the feeling she had when he made the first strike, allowing her to defend as she did.
But that sense was still new and gaining shape to her. His next attack was quick in its following of the first, leaving her no time to comprehend what was coming. His foot caught her ankle and sent her to the ground. The angle he attacked from didn't send her back, but falling to her right. She let out a bit of a grunt as she hit, but was able to keep herself together. She gained just a bit more time before his next attack, fortunately. However, as the attack came, it left little in terms of a solid block. She couldn't roll away fast enough without getting a cut on her other leg instead. With his attack being so far down, her arms would be almost fully stretched to block completely, giving her no real strength to hold him back.
There was no time to think and she acted institutionally again, holding her blade out sideways she thrust it out in the path of Andor's. She had no strength to hold it, but with her blade turned sideways, the flat edge would hit her leg and hopefully keep his from cutting her.

She had arrived a minute or two ago, but she remained outside the training area. She could feel the intense battle of wills, followed by a similar battle of physical form, and she knew that it would not do to interrupt.
She was here simply to learn how to grow in power, to keep herself safe from all others. That was the promise that Andor had made her, and that was why she had followed him here. And, one way or another, she was going to learn. She rounded the door, standing just inside the entrance, watching in her customary silence as the two battled.
There was much to be learned just from observation..

Luxeria's reflexes were quick and her instincts were keen. Andor was impressed that she was able to defend herself even after being knocked to the ground. Their blades clashed and Andor pushed down, trying to overpower his apprentice. But she had anticipated it and had strategically placed her blade on her leg, gaining extra support against Andor's aggression.*
*He withdrew by taking a step back and spinning his blade in his right hand in an elegant, showy flourish. He could sense his apprentice's curiosity and confusion. Something had taken her off guard, and Andor was fairly confident he knew what it was.
"The Force flows through you. Your reactions were not of your own decisions. You opened yourself to the Force and it guided you." He stated as he moved to his right, creating a triangle between himself, Luxeria and Valerie. He had sensed Valerie's presence before she made her appearance in the room. She seemed quite content with standing back and observing. It was time she got her hands dirty.
"Using the Force to guide you, to predict what's about to happen, is an ability commonly referred to as Force Sense. It is imperative that you take the initiative to master this application of the force." He was addressing both apprentices now, but his eyes glanced at Luxeria and winked. "You must always be prepared and ready to defend against anything. The Force will help you with that."
As he winked, Andor practically repeated himself with the first lesson he had given Luxeria about protecting one's mind, from the consciousness of another. Hopefully, Luxeria would take the verbatim recitation and the wink and understand that Andor wanted her to break into Valerie's mind and to try to control it.*
"Brace yourself." Two words would echo in Valerie's head an instant before Luxeria would attack.
*Apprentice vs. Apprentice. Who would win and gain the approval of their master?

Luxeria had expected Andor to make another attack, her mind focused upon him. However, when he backed away, she let her focus lessen, which allowed her to sense Valerie's presence. He had also sensed her thoughts and wonderment as to how she moved, able to to defend herself without a single bit of combat experience. She had never even held a weapon of any sort prior.
She stood to her feet as he spoke, everything becoming clear. It didn't need an explanation of a great magnitude. It had already rooted itself in her, leaving only the need to further her connection and her focus. Her eyes glanced over to Andor as he winked. For a moment, she didn't understand why he was winking at her. But it soon clicked. He had two apprentices. This would lead to many battles between the two while the learned. And in this moment, a battle was to begin. Supposedly neither had combat training at all, so that only left one form of combat left, the very style she sought.
As she looked away from Andor to Valerie, her eyes closed as she focused. Since the Sanctum, since the small bit of training she had already began with Andor, she had become more adapted to the feeling of the darkness and how to reach into it. It wasn't so quick like Andor could do, but she focused upon the feelings, the anger and fear, letting it surge through her. Opening her eyes, the forest green orbs had become blood red.
She reached out with her mind to Valerie's, just as she had in the cantina days ago. It still wasn't the easiest thing, but the flow of darkness guided her better than the first try. She pressed her mind into Valerie's, seeking to latch on and seep itself in it, seeking to gain control. She pushed hard, hoping to break any defenses she had. Still new to the concept, she wasn't yet sure which aspect of control she was displaying, whether persuasion, full control, or something more. Either way, she pushed into Valerie's mind, suddenly feeling the desire to reach into her thoughts and see her fears.

The Liar's Gambit was a little into it's hyperspace route, before Bron relaxed a little and gave a nod to Aros Shade, Artemis Bloodmoon, Ca'guuror DelaSangre (if he had joined them), and Emma, to let them know everything was going well. Emma smiled a little at her brother, wondering just how long it had been since he had really said a word to anyone, not that she didn't understand his reasons, considering what he'd been put through after she'd disappeared and their parents had passed away, leaving him alone and without a home. She then just as quickly turned her attention towards Artemis and ArosSo... What's the plan? We drop off Jonas, and then what? Artemis, now dressed in a pair of shorts and a t-shirt, was sitting at one of the tables in the ships lounge mending her pants from the blaster burn in the leg. She had already slapped a bacta patch on the wound on her left thigh as soon as they got in the ship back on Fondor. It still hurt a bit but the bacta was doing its job so she could deal with what pain there was. Looking up at Emma, she set the pants aside with a thoughtful look on her face."Well Jonas sent a message to his wife and apparently she's on Selonia after having decided to go there to accept a job at the Five Worlds Medical Center since she's a certified nurse. They should be safe there. So....Selonia it is!" Artemis smiled and waved her hand in the air for dramatic effect then laughed at the look on Aros' face as he just shook his head at her and went back to cleaning his guns.

Where Aleena had some sort of rudimentary training in the dark side, Valerie had none. She only had what her parents had taught her, that she should trust in her instincts and let her emotions guide her in times of need. She heard Andor's words in her head, telling her to brace herself, but she didn't know what that meant..
..until a moment later, when she felt a presence that was not her own pushing against her mind. The attack, while not entirely unexpected, had not been prepared for, mostly by virtue of the fact that she would have had no idea how to do so anyway. And the attacker drove straight into her thoughts, digging up her deepest fears..
The man was hot on her tail as she turned corner after corner in her house. It was like he knew the layout as well as she did.. But.. there was no way.
Her emergency comlink wasn't working, either.. Her parents should have responded by now, SOMEONE should have responded, but no one was answering, no one was there, and she was all alone, alone except for her pursuer..
"No one's going to save you, child! Just give up!!"
She shook her head, and the motion proved to be her downfall as she took a turn poorly and tripped, landing flat on her face. She rolled over just in time to see him walk up to her, his blaster coming up to point at her chest..
..and the fear inside her exploded outwards..
Her attacker -- she could feel that it was her fellow learner -- had wanted her fears brought out.. But if she had seen her on Nar Shaddaa, she would have realized what a bad idea that was. Just as before, her fear rose to the surface; and just as before, her powers lashed out in response. There was no scream this time, simply a pair of raised hands and an explosion of raw, emotionally-charged energy directed at the woman before her. It was all Valerie could do before she fell, Aleena's mental assault succeeding in exploiting the wide-open cracks in her mind and bringing her quite literally to her knees. She fought, trying to cling to her own mind and body as best she could, balling her hands into fists as they crashed into the floor...

As the thoughts Valerie had began to appear in Luxeria's own mind, she smiled faintly, proud of the progress she had just made. The Dark-side truly did open one's capabilities. However, it was her first go at Force Fear and she lacked the power to fully cripple Val. It was made clear when the Force surged within her and also the tell tale sign of an attack with the position of her hands. It had been similar for Luxeria not long before when she first encountered Andor.
Thanks to the flowing energy of the Force entangled with the darkness, she was capable of sensing the coming attack, though she only was capable of putting up her hands just before Val's attack hit. The force behind it took her off her feet and sent her flying back about five to ten feet where she hit the ground hard. In that moment, she lost her connection to Valerie's mind as it took her entire focus to keep herself from losing her breath. Looking down to her arms, she saw they were burnt up a bit from the raw energy. Powerful, yes, but had her emotions been focused and channeled, it would have been a lot worse. As it stood, the barrage of Force Lightning Andor cast on her was more than this.
She struggled to her feet, taking a few seconds. Her face now held a look of disgust, if not hatred for the girl. It was in that moment, the fear and anger of her past faded, replaced with a present hatred and anger focused at Valerie. She had yet to fully grasp how to make full use of past emotions; however, present emotions were much easier to use. When it came to Andor, she understood he had years of experience over her while she had just started training. That made him much more powerful and understandable why she'd fall, though she wouldn't let it stay that way. In Valerie's case, Luxeria refused to allow herself to fall beneath this other apprentice, another girl for that matter. She desired the power to rule over all and be someone powerful opponents knew to respect and see value in an alliance. At the current moment, Luxeria seemed to be the one as ruler of the mind while Valerie held explosive power. Well, she'd change that visual.
Feeling Val's mental barrier was faltering as she tried to hold on. However, her control and focus was greater with her new found anger as she made her mental assault again. This time, she let her mind slither into Valerie's in attempt to take control of her body. Should she succeed, she would command Valerie to stand. As she controlled her fellow learner's mind, she held up her right hand as she began to focus the Force there. Trying to keep Valerie under control, kept her from building the power as quickly as she would like though eventually she built up a swirling red ball half size of her palm. She had tried this attack once against Andor, though this time, it was fueled with the Dark-side. Thrusting out with her right hand, the ball released and flew at Valerie. Never before now would she have seen the end result of a Force Burst, even at such a smaller level, unknowing of what damage it could cause. At this point, she merely wish to deal to Valerie as she had done to her in sending her flying. Punishment, one could say.
Even should Valerie resist the control, Luxeria still released the Force Burst of the same intensity.

Andor couldn't help but smile as his two apprentices began to face off against one another. Both were highly inexperienced and Luxeria had only had a single lesson with Andor, while Valerie hadn't had a single one. He knew it was going to be a battle of the wills, who desired to succeed the most. An instant later, Andor sensed Luxeria break into Valerie's mind solely from the eruption of fear that exploded from the younger girl. She fell to her knees and immediately, Andor's mind raced back to their encounter on Nar Shadaa.*
*Darth Luxeria had successfully performed her first use of Force Fear. Whether it was intentional or not, Andor didn't know. But what he did know was that fear was Valerie's number one motivator, having used it to constantly evade the clutches of a hired bounty hunter that had chased her across the Refuge Sector of Nar Shadaa. Andor, and a handful of others, came across her in a small alleyway. When the Sith Lord and another stranger who introduced himself as a doctor approached her, her fear had spiked and she had nearly brought down the entire building that had towered over them. And it was about to happen again.*
*Valerie's hands flew up, pointed at Luxeria. Raw energy exploded from her hands and Andor licked his lips as Luxeria was unable to avoid it, sending her flying backwards.

He wanted to kill them both, to satisfy his hunger and to rid himself of his father-like feelings for Valerie.*
