She smiled at the gesture and tucked the beans away in a different pouch for Eralam. She downed the rest of the brew in her mug as the bell drew the attention of Dazbog, a new arrival coming into the coffee shop. Sinistra recognized the Jedi coming through the doors, and she spun low to hide behind the counter. It was time to get out of here. She reached up and gingerly grabbed the pie. With a sly look, she melted into the floor and disappeared like the evaporation of fog from an autumn morning. Her voice was all that was left to recede in the empty space.
"Gotta run, pie to deliver..."

Dazbog nodded his head, acknowledging Sinistra's foggy disappearance. Hearing the bell of of his door open, he went to work. Almost as soon as Diamonte was able to see into the coffee shop fully, it was already spotless. He was once again behind the counter, wiping it with a wet rag and something called Whill Be Gone. If one were to read the fine print, it had nothing to do with the removal of Whills, but rather the removal of dirt, grime, grease, molds, and bacteria with amazing ban speed. These atrocities had no place in his coffee shop, and they were kicked out for all eternity with each wipe.
Gentle, soothing mood music played over speakers, and Dazbog already had a mug of coffee, complete with chibi artwork of his fine self, ready for the new arrival, as well as having refilled the bowls of assorted fruit granola mix. He gestured to a seat.
"Ah, a Jedi. Diamonte Tuhlute no less. Welcome to my coffee shop. I hope you will find everything to be more than satisfactory."
Great timing. No sooner had one guest left than another had come. Dazbog smiled warmly, and poured himself another mug of coffee. Would he ever stop imbibing in the delicious liquid that was coffee? Never.

I smiled as the … i didn’t know what the form of being was beckoning me forward. but this place had an aura that was unlike the tense one from where i was. so naturally i followed and took a seat where i was instructed to sit and smiled
“Thank you… i don’t know how i got here…”
i grabbed a small handful of granola and began to nibble out of it. then it was time to address the obvious question in my mind
“It seems obvious to me you are a deity of some kind… by what name may i call you?”

Dazbog clapped his hands together when Diamonte sat down. Immediately the music went down in volume, and the room grew just a bit brighter. He held his arms out, as if expecting a hug, but actually for the things the Jedi in his presence was witnessing.
"Impressive no? I had the clapper installed right as you came in. It's amazing what modern technology can do for family owned businesses is it not?"
Dazbog's face grew serious at Diamonte's question. He topped the Jedi's cup of coffee off from the never ending pot of coffee, then tapped his nose with his finger, waggling the same finger at the man after he tapped his nose.
"Smart as always. You Jedi are observant. I'm glad you took notice of what I am so quickly."
Putting the coffee pot back on the coffee machine, which bubbled and gurgled, Dazbog took out a fresh Granny Smith apple and took a big bite of it, speaking in between chews.
"I'm surprised you can't guess which deity I am. I thought the coffee shop made it obvious."
Dazbog bowed deeply in proper greeting.
"I am known as Whill Dažbog. You may call me Dažbog for short, and your coming here is no accident, Jedi. Forces stronger than even I are behind that. Let me again welcome you to my home. You are on the planet Tython, in the Temple of the Ancient Order of the Whills. We are honored to have to grace us with a visit."
Dazbog lifted himself from the bow and took another bite of the green apple, showing his delight with yet another friendly smile.

I smiled as i was introduced to the whill of the coffee bean.
“Well met Dažbog… apologies that i am not as well versed on my deities… my mind confuses itself sometimes… part of what happens when you choose to depart one reality for another.”
taking the last bite of the granola i grabbed in the first bunch i muse
“however i got here, i am glad… the particulars of when i came from… not my proudest moment.”

Dazbog crossed his arms over his bare chest and smiled.
"It is sometimes when one needs to get away from a situation, they get themselves out of it. Don't fret. You're still where ever you were...or are...which is here...and there..."
Dazbog made a strange face.
"Sorry. Splitting one's time line can be a bit confusing. It's like trying to understand advanced quantum theory with a dash of thermodynamics. It's just hard to comprehend. But you're here. And that's all that matters."
Dazbog uncrossed his arms and leaned on the counter, looking Diamonte in the eye, his own green eyes gazing into the Jedi's very soul. He still kept on the friendly, almost fatherly smile.
"I have been watching you, as much as is possible, and know of some of your most recent actions, young Jedi. If there is anything that is bothering you, no one is better to talk to than a Whill. You know of us, yes? Anything that is said within these walls will never be known to anyone but me."
Dazbog extended his arms, gesturing to the empty room.
"This is a safe place, and I always enjoy speaking to you mortals. It can add perspective that I don't have. Your lives are so interesting. So quick and short, but shine bright with the light of a dozen quasars. Hearing tales from one is a treat, instead of reading of them in our Archives. It adds life, and the experience that came with it."

i twinkle came to my eye as the whill discussed temporal displacement. I was shite when it comes to the force and to armed combat, but using my brain…? I knew that there was where my talents lay
“excuse me Dazbog… but it seems to be a simple Temporal displacement theory in action… element from a non fixed point in the course of events gets pulled off to the side in which time is continuing to move forward, while at the same time looping around to rejoin the moment of departure allowing the element to remain constant in the primary timeline without memory of side event… however this leads to potential boot strap temporal anomalies later on down the line.”
taking a napkin I illustrated my point not sure if the whill would get it.
“i would be more than willing to tell you a tale… which one would you like to hear? this current one I am in is a bit rubbish… or at least it is right now… coward hiding in the training arena while a group I can only describe as being nearly tyrannical or terroristic in nature is potentially looting the location.”
but looking down I noticed that my clothes were still rather ratty
“But before I begin, I don’t suppose you have a change of clothes I could borrow. being in a place as nice as this in tattered robes… kinda isn’t how a gentleman would carry himself.”

Dazbog smile fell, replaced by a dumbfounded look as he had Temporal Displacement theory explained to him on, of all things, a napkin. He raised his hand, quieting Diamonte for a moment.
"Don't ruin the magic, Diamonte. Some things are meant to be filled with wonderment. I know about Temporal Displacement. I'm currently in two places at once myself. I'm speaking with my older brother, Erevis, in his own realm. I just like to take in every moment as if it is the first time it has happened. Eternity goes by faster that way. Knowledge comes through understanding, but take some time to enjoy it, and let it take you to places you're own imagination couldn't dream of."
Dazbog chuckled deeply, sipping from his mug. Taking note of Diamonte's request, Dazbog set down his mug of delicious coffee and clapped his hands. Everything went black. No sound, no light, no movement. He would feel as if a thousand small hands were touching him at once. Finally, Dazbog clapped once more, and Diamonte, upon looking at his clothes, would find them good as new. Fully repaired as if they had just been plucked off the rack of a discount Jedi Crew Outfitter's sale. Dazbog spoke as if the repairs had not even happened. But his eyes sparkled with the knowing that came with his power.
"You are, of course, speaking of the most recent events on Yavin IV?"

my face fell in embarrassment
“My apologies Dazbog, i am … or at least i try to be a scientist. i thrive in the unknown because it is just so… curious to me that i don’t know what is the reasoning yet. yes in some respects i realize this ruins the true magic of the scene when i see it unfold before my eyes… but on the other hand when i can piece something together with the knowledge i have and then see myself proven right…. or wrong it is just a bit of a thrill for me… does that make sense?”
i smiled as i the lights came back on, true enough my clothes were renewed… my mind reached out to try and comprehend what had just happened, however trying to distract my mind long enough, i reached for the closest drink to me (the mug of coffee) and spoonfuls of sugar and creamer, using the force to agitate the beans around the mugs until the drink was much less black and much more palatable to me.
“the only situation i am in right now. I just had a dozen guns pointed at me demanding i hand over tech… and to me, the act of asking me to hand over any of my tools, is like asking a collector to give away a mint XJ-2. and after i disarmed myself of my lightsaber at our first contact… but i mean, chips are down what do i do? run to any room and seal myself in… some jedi i am.”

Dazbog eyed the cup of steaming coffee as Diamonte took a sip, watching for the coming smile of amazement at its flavor. Dazbog took great pride in his blend, and it gave him much happiness when it brought warmth to other beings' innards.
"It makes perfect sense. But taking the world so seriously all the time can take its toll. Take a page out of my recipe book and learn to enjoy it for what it is, not what makes it up. Breaking it down is fine, so long as you can enjoy what the pieces make. Such is life. A bunch of a little parts, put together to create something wonderful. If it all comes down to science and mathematics, what else is left?"
Philosophy aside, Dazbog cleared his throat as he listened to Diamonte's story. He was well aware of the events that had transpired on Yavin IV, as well as events that had gone on behind the Jedi Curtain. The Whill patted Diamonte's hand reassuringly.
"You are young, Diamonte. You did the most logical thing that came to mind, and that was preserving your life. You were alone at the Temple, with people pointing weapons at you. If you would have engaged in conflict it would have only escalated the situation, and might have cost you your own life. This Universe is in constant conflict. Countless people die every day, many without notice from those around them. What would your death have accomplished? Nothing. If I were in your shoes I can say I would have done the exact same thing. You chose wisely. I hope you can take solace in that."
Dazbog's smile returned. It always seemed to reappear no matter the circumstance. Even if a herd of rabid Krayt Dragons had barged in he could have found something positive in it, and said it with the same smile.
"When I was a Jedi, I took what I had for granted, and it cost me dearly. I lost everything and everyone I ever knew, all for nothing. Conflict accomplishes nothing in the long term. It only causes more conflict. And yet peace is never a constant in our Universe because of the variables within it. Forces struggling against one another. Conflict creating conflict. A self fulfilling prophecy."

I smiled
“This i know to be true.”
as i thought on words, my faced seemed to flash with the face of another (the fellow i only knew as “N.I”)
“Yeah… it is foolish for me to expect that i can halt conflict just to live at peace. just makes me a little frustrated that i am inept in ways of combat and in ways of the force that all i can hope to do if i want the side i support to win is design and program…”

Dazbog shook his head smiling. It always amazed him how mortals could never believe their own power and potential.
"You know more than many others, if that counts for anything. There are those who are not gifted with the Force, and are largely blind to its power. And you are stronger than you think, Diamonte. It's a bit cliche to say, but you underestimate yourself. All it takes is the right moment to unlock your full potential. Hopefully you will walk away a better man than some have in similar situations."
A beeping noise came from the kitchen, and Dazbog's hands were suddenly in oven mits, running back there. A very ridiculous sight to behold, but the smell that wafted from the oven was divine. Dazbog walked slowly, as if balancing on a tight walk beam, and set the freshly baked pecan pie down on a fancy display dish.
"Some things you can't replace with god-like powers. No matter how many times I've tried, the taste is always a bit off."
Dazbog removed his oven mits, which mysteriously vanished into nothing, and blew on the pie. The steam settled, and the pie became chilled.
"Just like mother used to make. If I had a mother, that is. Would you like a piece? I promise you there are few things as good as home made Pecan Pie. A secret recipe handed down from me, to me, to me, to me."
Dazbog winked jokingly.

I smiled earnestly
“Thank you Dazbog. i am sure at some point i will hard grasp to what you … and too many others say as the truth.”
nodding i smiled
“Sure, i will gladly take a slice, if you would permit me to prepare a family recipe of my own. a cheesecake.”

Dazbog stopped dead in his tracks, freezing like a wind up soldier that had just run out of tension in his gears and springs. Slowly his head turned and he spoke in a deathly seriously tone.
"Cheesecake?"
The Whill crossed his arms and his tone hinted with anger.
Cheesecake?!"
Dazbog extended his arms and hugged Diamonte from over the counter. It was awkward, being hugged by a seemingly omnipotent being half dressed that was stained and smelled of coffee.
"I'd love some!"

I nodded and walked around the counter and to a small workspace on it i assembled the ingredients i would need
1 premade graham cracker crust
Before i began i looked to Daz.
“Ok i know, that it is better to make your own, but lets save a little bit of time”
Taking the motions as seriously as i was taught as the record was passed down to me from my father and his father before him, I made the filling just right and then placed it in the oven. then knowing it would take about 40-45 minutes, my eyes drifted over to a particular wall that contained trillions of drawers and i got curious
“What is that i am looking at?”

Dazbog watched as Diamonte worked. It was marvelous how mortals worked. Much better than simply snapping your fingers and Whilling something into existence. He glanced from Diamonte to his own little surprise for visitors.
"That, my friend, is something special. Years in the making. The memories of everyone that has ever lived in the Universe. Even the Whills themselves. Each drawer has a name on it. In that drawer is a bag of beans that you can brew into a cup of coffee. Each sip grants you access to your memories, reliving them as if they were happening right then and there."
Dazbog took a deep sip of his coffee, gesturing at the wall with his mug.
"Help yourself. Only to your own, though. You can't open anyone else's. Personal privacy and all that."

Despite waiting an inordinately amount of time for 1 hr to pass, i look to the wall to find the drawer with my name, but as i pull to open it, i find that it is jammed. a simple look to the label reveals the name “Iríto”. i thought that was my drawer a minute ago. then finding it across the way reveals the same thing, i move to it, sure that the name reads my own, but upon pulling it, the drawer is once more jammed, and the name is changed to “Pala” …how many Tuhlute’s have there been?
FINALLY, i find the right drawer and open it, revealing a letter and a bag of beans. taking the bag i realize i had seen the words before…
“N.I.”
Removing what i had put in the oven so i could transfer it to the fridge to cool and set i muse
“I have seen the letters N.I. before… back after the dimensional rift had settled during the battle of yavin…”
needlessly i toss beans from the bag into a grinder and prepare a cup of coffee. i sit down to inhale the fumes, but am hesitant to take the first sip.

Dazbog raised an eyebrow, curious at the behavior of his drawers. This was only the second person to try out his little surprise, but he had not thought it would be able to link different people of the same wr-....Dazbog squelched that thought and simply shrugged.
"N.I...... What's the N stand for?"
It was a joke that was ages old, except it was supposed to be AI. Dazbog fanned the steam from Diamonte's cup in his direction, sniffing the aroma of the cup of coffee appropriately named Memory Lane. His eyebrow seemed to raise even higher.
"Curious...."

With the surrender of his final vestiges of Whilly power, there was only one place in the universe where Eralam could manifest his old robotic form, and that was here, on Tython. It was a damn shame that his own chambers hadn't been reconstructed, but given the enormity of the task of rebuilding the universe from scratch, he wasn't particularly upset. And hell, he could always come hang out with the coffee guy, which was interesting. The robot body had no need for coffee, but conversation and making fun of Erevis was always diverting.
With that in mind, Eralam popped by the Coffee Shop.
"Salutations."

Dazbog tilted his head up and smiled like a kid in a coffee shop. There was another person here, and from the gathering dust this frozen scene had gone on for some time.
"Eralam. Nice body. Glad you chose to stop by. Where's the squishy one? Still squishy?"
Dazbog knocked back a handful of blueberry granola mix and munched.
"What brings you to my neck of the planet?"
