A pair of Praetor Stormtroopers were waiting in the hangar bay when Standash's shuttle landed. They waited until the Moff appeared, before ushering her and her guard to follow them. They led the way through the shipyard to the office, where they took up guard positions on either side of and motioned for Standash to continue on through. Zahn looked up from his paperwork then, watching as Standash and her Guard entered. He motioned to a pair of seats opposite him for the pair to take Moff Thule, it's a pleasure to see you again...

Standash follows their escort into the complex. He own guard follows behind. When they get to the room, Standash motions for her to wait outside. Hello Grand Moff, I was pleased to receive your invitation. This is my first time to Kuat, it's reputation doesn't do it justice. The shipyards here are beyond anything i could conceptualize.

Zahn smiles and pours a glass of water, pushing it across his desk for Standash as she enters the room Well, I'm glad you've had a chance to see one of the many splendors this galaxy has to offer... Only a handful of shipyards in all the galaxy encircle the planet around which they orbit. It's testament to the engineers and the success of the Drive Yards that this all still exists... Please have a seat Moff Thule. There is much to discuss, and I'd rather not force you to remain standing... He would wait until Standash took a seat before speaking again So... How fares Carida?

Standash takes her seat. she pulls a data pad out and shares the information to the nearby display. Colored graphs showing an upward trend appear. Academy numbers are on the increase. There has been a massive influx from Coruscant. The recruiting drives in the lower levels offering a "way out" I feel is the biggest reason for this. I have sent a request to command for more instructors and guest teachers to help with this influx. We have started construction on a new wing of the campus. Another graph appears, this one showing population breakdown. The majority of the native humans are enrolling in the academy, as we were hoping. There have been slow downs if encouraging the Caridans to cover the other business ventures. My predecessor, it appears tried to keep them subservient, as a result, many lack management skills. I have been working on opening up more schools to increase these skills, and playing to pride. Ad campaigns are showing promise. She hist the next slides. The Auxila and the Harab designs appear. There was a time when Carida was at the forefront of military innovation in the galaxy. Navy and army innovations originated there. As the centers of production consolidated, Carida let these endeavors fall away. I hope you agree that we should always be thinking. I have been encouraging the retired leaders and ambitious cadets to start thinking again. In the sort time I have been pushing this, 2 ship designs have been accepted by command. They should be going into production soon if they haven't yet. I of course said that Kuat was the best place for them to be produced.

Zahn examined the display as Standash brought up the information regarding the Academy's enrollments. He made a couple of notes on a datapad of his own as she spoke I'll be sure to get that request expedited and if you require additional resources for the construction of the new wing, I'll see they are prioritized. More graduates means more Stromtroopers, and that means we can better patrol our holdings while adding new worlds to the First Order... He made some notes then about Standash's plans regarding the native Caridan's, but made no comment on the matter. She seemed to have the situation handled well enough. His attention returned to the display then as the Auxilia and Hereb designs appeared on the screen. A small, knowing smile cross his lips as he listened to Standash address the two designs and Carida's role in their designs Indeed, we should always be preparing and improving. Otherwise we risk growing lazy and apathetic, and that will lead to our downfall... I want to say that I appreciate your recommendation of Kuat to produce these designs. With so many Imperial shipyards, there is always competition for work. But this way, they at least remain close to where they were originally designed. Speaking of, I can confirm that production has indeed begun on these vessels. The first pair of Auxilia's should be completed soon... I'm glad to hear you have been handling Carida well. I'd imagine it's a bit of a change going from being a senator and Chancellor of a Republic to being a Moff of an Empire...

She paused and thought. She was not embarrassed of her past, but she knew that many in the First Order looked down on her for it. She did not think that Zahn was in that camp, but she had to be careful with this. It is different, but mostly in a good way. It is much easier to read people here, fewer people put on a face. Also fewer people openly challenge you. The Alliance was the worst, every decision you made was questioned publicly from every direction. Here, a subordinate may disagree but will still do it, mostly. The chain of command helps. Mostly the job is the the same now as it was then. Work to do what is best for the people.

Zahn studied Standash as she spoke. No doubt she had been asked about her past more than once before You have nothing to fear from my Moff Thule... The Chain of Command and respect for it are what drive things ever forward. We don't have to worry about the press questioning our every decision or move. It is truly liberating being able to operate without such baggage for the common good... Zahn rose from his seat, motioning for Standash to follow Many could learn a lot from you Standash. Discarding the bonds of this false ideal known as democracy... He lead the way from the office, with both his own guards and Standash's bodyguard presumably falling in behind them as they took a short stroll into a viewing deck There is but one power capable of bring peace, and it is Order... Serve it, and you shall be rewarded... The viewing windows turned from opaque to transparent, revealing the first Hereb-class sitting in a hangar bay If I might be honest, this is why I summoned you here to Kuat Moff Thule... To grant you the first Hereb-class to be produced...

Standash followed close listening as they came to the transpaisteel window. She recognized the smooth dagger shaped ship below. She smiled again, the cadet that designed it had named it after the word for Dagger in an old language. She was very proud of the role she played in that ships development. It was perfect for executives and diplomats. It was one of the fastest production ships ever made and its encryption was second to none. Thank you Grand Moff, but certainly there are others who are in line before me to receive one of these new ships. She was ecstatic at the offer and wanted to take it, but she knew she couldn't show it. She could see that she had earned it, but she also knew that wasn't how these things always worked. There were probably 100 other people with a claim above hers that she had to acknowledge.

Zahn couldn't help but be impressed by Standash. Her ability to appear humble and be mindful of those that were "in line" before her was second to none, at least in his experience. It seemed almost genuine. He held his hands behind his back as he looked out at the ship Between the work you put in to see this design exist in the first place, along with your success on Carida... Not to mention your impending start with the humanitarian fleet... You're firmly at the start of this line. Hard work and effort are rewarded in the First Order, especially when it comes to those under my command... Besides, you're going to more urgently need one if you're to lead Carida and command your own project...

She nodded to the Grand MoffThank you for the recognition. I will do everything to maintain your confidence. This ship was designed with these kind of tasks in mind.I will keep extensive notes on the performance. Is there a crew assigned to it already?

The crew will be of your own choosing. You'll have people that you can trust Moff Thule... While assigning a crew he knew and trusted to the ship would have been the strategic move, he wanted to make a gesture to show he trusted her. If she was truly able to threaten him and take his place, then it would be hopefully for the good of the First Order. Power was fleeting after all, and no matter how hard you tried to maintain it, it eventually slips through your fingers You've done a lot of good for the galaxy and for the First Order. But be wary, not all within the First Order have such noble intentions. A situation I suspect you are all too used to from the Republic and Alliance... Keep a watchful eye on those more overt about their intentions, but keep a closer eye on those hoping to be subtle about their plans... These Knights, as they style themselves, are just zealots of dead religions. Capable of serving but not leading... Be wary of them all Moff Thule.

Standash had a command crew in mind, a few Alderaanians had followed her to the FO, and a few that she had met more recently.. A full crew would take a bit. Annelise was probably best suited for that assignment.Grand Marshall, I have learned that people with power and influance are the same no matter the face of a government. Every one has the same types of people that make it up. The Knights have been... interesting to learn about.

The couple weeks of downtime for the Noctis Deep Patrol Fleet had reached its end, the last bit of maintenance and upgrades having been finished for a few days. Not only had the teams been given the chance to rest and enjoy what Kuat had to offer, but the fighter squadron also got the opportunity to look over some of the most advanced fighters the First Order had to offer.
However, their time was up and it was time to return to their patrols. Entering the hangar bay where the TIEs were being worked on, Xoia made her way to her fighter as the others began loading up. The other ships were already loaded up and beginning to take off. Powering up the systems, the woman lifted her fighter off the racks and fell into line as her te4am departed the hangars. Joining up with their respective Gozanti-class Assault Carriers, the patrol fleet disappeared into hyperspace.

Zahn turned fully toward Standash. His gaze settling upon her as he studied the young Moff for a momentBe careful how much you learn about them, otherwise you may find yourself on the wrong side of their so called justice... I believe that will be all though. You've done great work so far... keep it up...

Thank you Grand Marshall, please let me know if there is anything else i can assist you with. She lowered her head and turned to take her leave. She respected the man greatly. He was smart, cunning and powerful. He was also a bit of a dinosaur. Those without ambition are waiting to be passed, sometime they willingly ask for it, other times they have to be moved. She wasn't sure where Zahn would be yet. The warning about the Knights was always a good one. It was easy to learn too much about people like that, to learn things they kept hidden. She had learned long ago to be careful where and how she dug. Knowledge was power, but to much power at the wrong time got people killed or worse. She looked at both knights as the same. The Force was a tool for power, some were lucky enough to be born with it themselves and could use it directly. For others you had to find ways to use those lucky ones.

That will be all Moff Thul... The ship is all yours... Was there anything further you required from me? he gave a bow of his head and moved to the side, motioning toward the door to allow her to take her leave. She'd given her report and he had provided her the ship she had helped get built and deserved as a reward. He had a lot of other tasks to attend to, and he suspected she was eager to take command of her new vessel and get back to the work she had been doing

Not as of now my Lord. I have much to do before I leave. Thank you. She left the office, she moved to have her shuttle move to the Hareb. There were docking options to travel home. She also made quick moves to get a crew brought from Carida, she would have to put together a command crew at some point. She made sure that the cadet that designed the ship was one of those brought in. She headed to the hanger to inspect her new ship while she waited for the transfers to arrive. She asked for the head engineer to meet her at the ship.

Few days after the smuggler incident over Ilum, the Conservator-class Star Destroyer Charybdis would enter the dockyards of Kuat in order to replace the welded western hangar site with a cleaner look and to ensure that security aboard the Light Star Destroyer was maintained. Given that the flagship of the taskforce was missing over Ilum for a week, Jenia had ordered for the time being a replacement fleet in order to ensure the stability of the orbital facilities within her brief absence.
As she watched the maintainance of her flagship from the wharfts, she noticed that the port was buzzling as always. To think that the last time when she was here, she had been a mere Rear Admiral of the fleet, solely with three Victory-class Star Destroyers and a Vindicator-taskforce at her disposal gave her nearly nostalgic chills. Back then things weren't necessarily less uncomplicated, yet she stood now here, being one of the Empire's most influential individuals. A position, similiar to the ones, which famous people like Wilhuff Tarkin and Grand Admiral Thrawn held. Scary to think of it that way, for the responsibility on her shoulders weighed heavily.
It was though the moment of stability, which Jenia made fond to some point. To see the various starships pass by and do their daily routine. Peaceful times, which nearly made someone forget that a few systems further the First Order was threatened by other forces within the galaxy, powers, which had risen from the ashes of the Galactic Alliance. The Grand Admiral had read several reports already about many known threats like the Corellian Coalition to the south of the First Order's region, a minor power with the potential to nontheless rival the imperial ships, which were previously sent into the southern sectors to chase down any remains of the Galactic Alliance. Wheras to the east more unknown constants were present. Apparently deals between the Emperor and a selfproclaimed Diarchy, an Imperial Remnant, were reached, though the content of them were unknown to even the Grand Moff herself. They claim to be the true succession of Palpatine's Empire from what Jenia had heard... fanatics, which would gladly undo all the hard work, the dynasty of the Delvardus line had started in creating the perfect Empire. As long as they existed, the Grand Moff was certain that they were a threat - they couldn't be trusted, for they were too similiar, yet so different towards the Imperial doctrines to just think of them as a granted ally. Time would tell whether these allegiances would shift or hold. To make matters worse, another faction has risen from the remainders of the Galactic Alliance, calling itself the Quarren Dominion. The information was sparse regarding their ambitions, given that the Quarren were former allies of the First Order, who have developed into a proper gouvernment, which no longer was a sole puppet state. At least not a puppet state of the First Order. Some of the recent reports suggest, that the Sith are pulling the strings on Dac, fueling up the war machinery of the planet. Apparently they managed to subjugate Jabiim and other sectors within range, building up larger ship armadas. There was still a huge distance between their systems and the border of Taris, so Jenia didn't thought too much about it. Yet it was concerning that other warmongering powers fill the void, which was created by the absence of a former imperial enemy. Jenia hoped that the First Order could learn from these errors and correct them, once the time has come to restore order to even the rest of the galaxy. In the end they fought for peace. Peace under an imperial gouvernment, peace for its citizens.
She eventually left the area, where she looked outside the window and eventually continiued on towards the hangar, where her shuttle was waiting for her. For the time being she would remain alongside her bodyguard at the surface, continiueing her reports towards the Emperor from there. She had eventually contacted Lucien Needa prior to her decision of visiting Kuat, so partially Jenia hoped that the Imperial Knight would eventually find time as well for her. It was probably a weakness, a luxury she shouldn't be so keen of. And yet... perhaps it was at least one weakness she could allow herself to show. She solely hoped that the Emperor himself would forgive her for it, if he was aware of the rumors as well.

{Continued from Kuat's Orbit}[/ul][/ul] *A ramp extends from the Flare, just moments after its repulsors jetted in for its final descent on one of the innumerable landing pads of the Kuat Drive Yards main commercial spaceport. In short order, five beings descended: three females and two males. Three passengers, one pilot, and one copilot; but their roles could not possibly be distinguished by attire. After all, from the neck down, all five wear the armor of the Sun Guard. Perhaps the gold-plated armor itself, or the dark-skinned complexion of species, are not distinctive enough to prompt identification - but the helmets slung under their arms are unmistakable. Anyone who knows anything about Emperor Palpatine's Royal Guard would note the similarity.*
*One of the women takes a swig from a liquor bottle held in her left hand, prompting a tilt of the chin from one of the other females, and a sheepish grin in retort from the drinker. Given the speed with which they disembarked their Helix-class interceptor, the five suddenly do not seem to be in any hurry to go anywhere; instead, they seem content to break into a stretching routine, combined with the occasional turn of the head to take in their surroundings. The reason for the lax attitude quickly becomes apparent, however, as in due time another group of five Sun Guards strolls up to join them on the pad.**This is uttered by the woman who reprimanded the drinker. One of the male Thyrsians in the approaching group chuckles.**Only an eye roll and a half smile is given in reply. One of the male Thyrsians who disembarked from the Flare interjects with an outstretched hand, from which a holocaster projects an image of a freight shuttle. The rest of the group give various gestures of assent, and then the whole ensemble makes its way from the landing pad.*
*Along their way, various signs announce the way towards passenger transportation. The group is making their way towards a shuttle that will take them halfway around the planet (unfortunately, the main spaceport is as far as can be from the Kuat Drive Yards business office, and as visitors, these guardsmen lack the necessary clearance to land in either the civilian or military spaceports). En route, they speak only a few words; but as they approach the shuttle depot, a nearby cantina attracts the attention of the drinking woman, who shakes her bottle to indicate that they (she?) could use a refill. And probably some food, too. A short, wordless debate breaks out, but the majority clearly favors taking a short break. So, they enter the premises and await the host to seat them.*~[/ul][/ul] *A party of 10 is a tall order to seat at any one time, so the group agrees to split 6-4. Moreover, tavern policy dictates to check weapons at the door, so the group collectively strips their solar pikes, vibroblades, Verpine Shatter guns, and various other armaments. A nearby group of First Order stormtroopers who had the same idea to grab a lunch break cannot help but turn their attention, however briefly, at the disarmament going on. The Thyrsians (plus one Echani) pack their weapons in one of the complimentary lockers afforded for such a purpose. Moments later, they are seated between two tables. The laughing Thyrsian has ensured himself to sit with the Echani. As they glance over their menus, he clears his throat softly and speaks out.**This was the drinking woman speaking up from the next table over.**He mimes a bottle of liquor, which prompts a violent arm motion from Seliah in reply. Fortunately, the arrival of the wait staff quickly cuts short the banter.*
*Forty-five minutes or so later, the group is paying their tab (Seliah having drank three additional pints of beer) and collecting their effects, then disembarking from the restaurant to make their way towards the shuttle. Callum shakes his head dejectedly, prompting a reassuring back pat from one of the Thyrsian men and a punch to the chest plate from Seliah.*

Administrator Voss was an officer in his early 40s, a native to Kuat, he had been lucky enough to be stationed on his homeworld. His father and grandfather before him had worked at the shipyards, engine design and armor design specifically. While he didn't have their eye for design, he did have a skill for numbers and managing people. It had taken years, but he was now the First Order's official representative on the KDY board. As such the board often used him as a public face when power needed to be shown. Today was his day to "run" day to day operations. It was also the day the new Grand Moff had chosen to take extra interest in KDY. He knew it was coming, with every transfer of power, someone needed to learn about their new charges. He had seen the Grand Moff once before, when she picked up her Hereb Class Corvette, but hadn't spoken to her. He was impressed by her resume for someone so young, but in his mind she was still young. She would be better off trusting experienced people to do their jobs. He sat in his office looking at various figures coming through. He noted for a second that there seemed to be more people on station then were expected, he brushed that off quickly. That should make the rest of the board happy, more people means more ships sold and more money in their pockets.
