Lakehouse — Pool
Atlantis had a feeling that he would be getting the short version of what Serrin had been up to, and it was fine with him for he didn't want to push her at all in sharing what she had been through over the months of her disappearance for he also knew that being too pushy was one of the many ways to make people draw back and not share. He just had that philosophy that whenever a person was ready to share, whenever a person was comfortable enough, he'd listen. That was just him and he hoped that Serrin would know that, but since they were all under that general rule, he had decided to just go with a joke. "Are you telling me that we are supposed to have perpetual excitement in our lives?" Atlantis asked feigning shock before grinning and just nudging her shoulder with his own gently. "We might have skipped the same classes, shame on us."
His laughter though was soon heartfelt when Serrin offered to play courier on his behalf and again he looked at her with shock. "Wait, wait, wait..." Furrowing his eyebrows thoughtfully as he looked at her dubiously but mainly he was teasing her really. "We are friends, how can I even ask you to play courier about that, that is just so unheard of." Atlantis was speaking a little dramatically but that was just all theatrics and he clearly was enjoying the conversation he was having with her. "No, I was thinking, I tag along with you and hand over the coffee to her, I'll even have fresh brewed one in my hand and apologize for messing up her plannings." His voice was filled with humor, that was a fact but at the same time, perhaps he just wanted to be there whenever Serrin was comfortable enough to go back home. That was just Atlantis, he was wired weirdly perhaps and often times he admitted that he was very complex about particular subjects, but he would never turn his back on a dear friend in need.
Taking another sip of his water, Atlantis put the bottle down and looked at Serrin with a faint smile before he shook his head faintly. "I actually do not know them," Atlantis started to say which was a fact for yesterday it was the first time he had met the family. "Met them yesterday when we met them at the Academy, although Aerandir, I have heard about him, other than that, I only knew the family name but not its members." Atlantis was still keeping himself informed with news about the Jedi Order, who the current High Councilors were and where Academies or Conclaves were located in the galaxy. "What about you? Other than the obvious, of course, but you and Morgan seem to be sharing a good history together." Atlantis looked over the pool noticing that Morgan and Lukas were together but even Crystal seemed to be speaking to the children, which made him smile, for no particular reasons really.
Remembering that he was still with Serrin, he looked back at her with an amused grin before saying playfully. "It seems like Morgan seems to be sharing good history with a few people here."

Imitating Franz's earlier thoughtful expression as she looks at him after he has named those worlds he has been to in the course of his life, and the reasons he had for being on those worlds, Ayodele does not comment at first; adding what Franz has said with other things he has shared with her to see what might be revealed of him, or his nature. Ayodele was not always in the habit of cultivating a practiced disinterest in the larger picture or in the many players on the larger stage; there was a time such things were of great interest to her, and so she knows enough of the Jedi and their philosophy to understand that Franz's pronounced attachment to his friends and family would more likely than not be considered atypical for one belonging to an Order that asks its members to set such things aside in order to better serve the so-called greater good. Taken at face value, all that Franz has shared seems to suggest that he either holds to a more narrow view of what constitutes the "greater good", or has simply surrendered his self-agency to his friends as though trusting that remaining loyal to them ensures that he fulfills the duties demanded of him by his calling. While she feels that she has been given a clear understanding of what ultimately drives him, Ayodele also feels, overall, that she has been allowed to see less of who Franz is, of what he enjoys and wants for himself alone, and more of who Franz feels, or has felt, he must be or must pursue by virtue of his overwhelming loyalty to his friends and family. Or perhaps, Ayodele considers, Franz has become his loyalty and duty in the way that she was once little more than her drive to sate the biological imperative that drives the vast majority of her species; for has she not seen, after winning her freedom from the drive that defined her for so long, that many beings in the universe, no matter their species, fall prey to surrendering more and more of themselves in the service of the roles they chose or that are thrust upon them until they are little more than the embodiment of those roles, what individuality they might have been possessed of cast aside and forgotten. Not, Ayodele reminds herself, that she herself is, even now, necessarily free from such a fate; biology has simply given her longer to see what lay outside of the cage birth, socialization, and biological drives had backed her into. Seeing the bars and slipping from them are not at all the same thing, Ayodele knows, and even stepping from a cage does not always mean one is free from it, or might not find themselves forced back into the cage.
Her head tilting to the side as the reflective expression is overcome by her more familiar amusement, Ayodele smiles as she slowly repeats some of Franz's words without any hint of mockery, "For a friend, because you were needed, and then asks with a genuine curiosity that is without any sense of judgement, Has there been nothing, nowhere, or no one, Franz, in your life that you sought out or undertook for yourself rather than out of your loyalty to your friends and family or in the course of fulfilling the duties of your calling?"

Rolling my eyes playfully, I smile when Atlantis jokes about feeling as though I expect his life to be one of perpetual excitement; his familiar sense of humor a welcome shift from the business that has brought us together despite the fact I suspect that laughter and lightness may be in short supply in the days to come. Laughing with a shake of my head after Atlantis has expressed his willingness to personally deliver the coffee to Anya, I point out jokingly, "Running errands such as making good on the delivery of coffee is precisely the kind of thing that friends do for one another, though I would certainly not be opposed to your coming to Corellia to do so yourself. Resting my hands beneath my chin after lacing my fingers together, I smile when Atlantis explains that he has only just met Aerandir and his family, looking towards the pool with him to watch Morgan and Lukas together briefly before answering his question, Aerandir and I served on the Council together, and Morgan would often accompany him. Aerandir and I have not had many opportunities to interact outside of the council however, I add with a note of regret; Aerandir has always been someone I have respected, and though our roles and duties have meant that we have not had many opportunities to speak together outside of council meetings or similar gatherings, I have often wished it were otherwise. Smiling as I think of the time I have spent with Morgan in the past, I say, Morgan is quite charismatic," not at all surprised to see that, as Atlantis has pointed out, she appears to share strong bonds with many of those present.

Lakehouse — Guest Bedroom
After she and Ares had showered, Ali pulled on the t-shirt she had worn over her bikini while Ares dressed and left the room to go see if he could find her spare bikini in her bag out by the pool. While he was gone she had stripped the bed and remade it with a clean set of sheets she had found in a cabinet in the room. When she was done with the bed she put the sheets they had used in the hamper in the bathroom then she hung up the towels they had used after their shower so they could dry before she began tidying up the rest of the bathroom and bedroom.
When Ares returned, he placed the swimwear on the bed explaining that he couldn't find the spare bikini in her bag but Crystal had been nearby. He ended with mentioning Aerandirs, along with some other peoples, arrival, asking if she perhaps knew them. Arching an amused eyebrow, Ali removed the t-shirt and began putting on the borrowed swimwear. "It's fine, chéri. See? It fits perfectly, and it's even the same color." She grinned holding out her arms to her sides for him to see before dropping them to adjust the top a bit more. Stepping forward, she gave him a quick kiss before continuing to speak. "And yes, I know Aerandir and his daughter, Morgan. I haven't seen them in a while. It'll be nice to talk to them again."
She quickly put the t-shirt on again over the bikini then grabbed the pieces of her torn swimwear and turned to him again with a smile. "Shall we go join the others again? Also, do you need to put any finishing touches on the cake before we mingle?"

Franz nodded with a faint smile when Ayodele reiterated his statement, her question though that made him stop on the spot and think momentarily about that question of hers. Franz didn't really know how to answer that question, sure there had been a few but that was all in his past, nothing serious ever. So could he really define it as pursuing something for his own, when clearly it had just been fun and games before? Then again, he was currently here with her, so could that apply to that situation? Deep down inside of him, yes in a way but on the surface, he clearly didn't know how to express it, and that was mainly due to the fact that he didn't want to be faced with disappointment. As he knew whenever that happened, he'd try and bury it and just built that shell and pretend it didn't affect him, it was either by pulling away from the outside world, or just hide behind a facade of jokes.
It took him a moment on how to answer that question, for he was silent momentarily and it was only after when he had taken a sip of his beer that he finally spoke. "Currently, for the nowhere part, I cannot truly answer that..." He said genuinely before explaining further what he meant. "In my short life, I haven't felt the need or want to go to this or that place, although I will admit that it would be nice to just go to a planet and visit, doing nothing in particular, but it isn't something I have thought about, except," Franz took a deep breath and sighed softly, that was a part of him that he hadn't told anyone other than the Vyridian twins since they were talking about that a long time ago. "When I was younger, I only had that one wish, but that wasn't to visit a planet per se, it was more to leave the place I was in back in Coruscant." He was from the slums, he was brought up there and he was regarded as a freak show, a menace before he had something that most did not, the ability to manipulate the Force. Unfortunately for him, since he had returned there a few weeks ago for personal matters that involved his mother in particular, he felt he wasn't welcome there any more, so he tried all he could but again it was just a disappointment.
Trying to clear him mind from those memories, Franz looked back at Ayodele with a faint smile, he guessed that he couldn't just stop there about the nowhere bit, so he carried on speaking after a momentary pause. "As for the no one part, there has been a few, some serious and some weren't, for back then I didn't really stay around that much due to being asked to go at some places." Franz explained thoughtfully, that was mainly when he had been on Anobis and that clearly wasn't the correct time, with the planet constantly being under attack. "Though, I suppose that currently you can say that I am not in a rush and I wish to know a person better but spending time and speaking, which is clearly what I am currently doing." Franz told her with a sheepish smile just looking at her for a while in silence, again. "I hope that my answers have satisfied your curiosity, if not, please don't hesitate to ask anything you wish to know, I will gladly answer." He sincerely told her with another faint smile.
He knew what he might have been implying, baring himself so to speak, being honest, and while he knew that perhaps he wouldn't be able to say several things if he was asked about a few here, about himself, he wouldn't mind at all. All people always needed to do with him was to ask.

Ares had noticed that Ali had remade the bed, he should have probably helped her to do that, but unfortunately for him it was already done when he came back with the borrowed swimwear from his sister. As Ali changed though, he kept looking at her getting thoughts again, which wasn't helping his case at all which was why he took a deep breath and soon cleared his throat before smiling. "Hmmm, si, trust my sister to have the same color bikini." Ares commented with an amused expression before walking over towards Ali and placing his hands on her waist. "I do love that color on you, amore, it's se—..." He cut himself short because otherwise it wouldn't end up with them leaving the room any time soon and like Ali had mentioned, he still had to put some finishing touches onto the cake, the frosting of course, which he still had to make.
"I do have to put some frosting onto the cakes and mount them perhaps, but why don't you go ahead?" Ares suggested leaning over to peck her lips softly before smirking. Finally he remembered that indeed Aerandir had introduced himself, not only him but also Morgan like Ali had just mentioned but there was someone else too. "Right, Michelle is also with them, I don't know, I didn't get any details, but she seemed related to him too." From the brief encounter Ares had with Aerandir and Morgan, who was the man's daughter apparently from what Ali had just told him, perhaps Michelle was another daughter of his? Ares had no idea but for now he supposed he could revisit that matter later and it was best if they did leave the guest bedroom right now.
Which was what he did with Ali and closed the door behind them, he came to a stop at the kitchen's threshold, and looked at his fiancée with a smile before glancing towards the pool. "Just go ahead, chérie, you and I both know what happens when the two of us are in the kitchen together and I'd rather not cave in this time." Winking at her playfully, Ares leaned over again to kiss her softly before pulling his head back again. "Je t'aime..." He murmured softly before releasing her hand and turning around to head to the kitchen and check on the cakes which he found were in the oven and soon they would be ready, which was why he started to work on the frosting and the meringues.

Atlantis wouldn't be against to going to Corellia again, the last time he had been there, it was a good experience, one where Serrin had also requested for his assistance for a Padawan's trial. It was overall interesting and he also remember meeting the former Vice-Chancellor of the Republic, also a pleasant first time meeting with her, just like it was a very pleasant first time meeting with the Calmcacil family. Atlantis wasn't surprised at all that Serrin and Aerandir had served the Council together but what definitely surprised him it was the fact that they didn't really get to interact with one another, although it wasn't that surprising when Atlantis thought about it, both of them were constantly busy, that he was sure of it, and also tending to other matters on their sides.
Atlantis turned his head to look at Serrin with a knowing smile before glancing at Aerandir who was currently speaking with Ice. "Better late than never, right, so I suppose this simple moment here will be one of those times where you will be able to interact with him fully without really being on an," He lifted both of his hands and did the quote signs as he said, "Assignment." Atlantis said with a faint chuckle, technicalities, he guessed but considering that Serrin seemed to be aware of the ongoing rule right now, he smirked at the thought before shaking his head. "Let me guess, Crystal warned you about the proverbial rule of the day?" Atlantis said with humor before glancing back at his girlfriend who was by the pool and speaking with the children. He smiled just looking at her, she still had that same effect on him when they first met. Despite also the changes that he had seen, her and he discovering that she was Force sensitive and had originally been, Atlantis still wondered why Virgil had done that... It wasn't something that he and Crystal had discussed deeply, but he knew that it was to protect her and the last words he had received from Virgil before departing this planet was the same, Atlantis had to look out for her.
Sighing softly and lifting his hand to the root of his nose, he rubbed it gently trying to expel those things from his mind, at least temporarily but what could he really do about that? Atlantis looked back at Serrin with a faint smile and nodded to confirm that indeed Morgan seemed to be charismatic but also had that certain joie de vivre that he liked, it was just liberating someway, though he was still feeling guilty about having her pulled into this mess. "Tell me, Serrin," Atlantis started to say softly as he laced his fingers together over the counter and just looked at her thoughtfully for a moment. "Did you ever once have those moments where you wished, people didn't know you or what you could do and just live a simple and singular life away from trouble?" Atlantis knew that perhaps he was courting the drama zone but it was just a question, one perhaps she could relate to, at least he hoped that she could in a way.

Chuckling lightly, Ice inclined her head in understanding when Aerandir answered stating that he thought just saying the reason would break the 'drama free' rule before adding that he had just answered a call for help. Raising an eyebrow, she wondered if that call for help had anything to do with what she had read about Andros Vyridian upon their arrival to Umgul. She was contemplative for a moment as her gaze flickered over to Andros, very briefly, then back to Aerandir when he asked about Jena, saying that he needed to thank her for agreeing to train Jake in the healing arts.
Pushing her sunglasses up on her nose, Ice smiled slightly. "Jena's doing well and Jake seems to be very eager to learn all he can. I think this is good for both of them. It's good for Jena because she has someone new to pass her knowledge on to and it's good for Jake because he's young and energetic enough to keep up with her teachings."
She paused for a moment looking over to Lukas and Morgan, happy that they both seemed to be having fun in the water. Morgan was asking him if he wanted her to make a water ball or if he just wanted to swim. Lukas eyed Morgan for a moment, a look of thoughtfulness on his face then he splashed his hands down in the water in front of him. "Water ball!" He exclaimed with glee.
Ice shook her head, laughing at his enthusiasm then brought her gaze back to Aerandir. "So how are Cassie and little Lucina doing? Well I hope?"
Meanwhile back in the pool, Lukas was giggling happily, enthralled with what Morgan was doing in her attempt to create a water ball. It was then that Crystal came over to them and asked what kind of saucing they wanted on their meat. Lukas gazed up at her with a perplexed look on his face before calling out to Ice. "Mommy?!"
Ice, who had heard Crystals question to the children, grinned affectionately at Lukas before meeting Crystals gaze with a warm smile. "Since I'll share a plate with him, we'd better go with salty. He's not fond of sweeter meat sauces just yet. Our last experience with a sweet sauce didn't go over so well and I don't want him wasting it, especially when you've all be gracious enough to invite us into your home." She glanced down to a giggling Lukas again who had already turned his attention back to Morgan and the shimmering water of the pool.

Elikapeka rolls her eyes when Lily says that she and Delaana are essentially a unit, her pleased smile revealing that, despite the eye-rolling, she is more than happy with the observation and the implications therein. Giving Crystal a nod accompanied by a smile when her friend suggests that Delaana and Elika look after the side-dishes while she tends to the marinades, Elika tells her, "We're on the job, hon', and then takes her arm from around Delaana's waist, taking a hold of her hand instead, as she fakes a sigh and crinkles her nose as she teases, Hmm, well I guess that I'm alright with out helping out in the kitchen, my Ceesi," giving Delaana's hand a squeeze as she laughs and then begins heading inside to the kitchen.
"Oh, hi there Ares, Elika says to Crystal's brother cheerfully as she and Delaana enter the kitchen, releasing Delaana's hand as she adds, Don't, um, mind us, we're just here to make some side dishes. Frowning, her hands on her hips as she looks around the kitchen as though trying to think of what they might make for the side dishes, Elika looks over at Delaana after a moment and crinkles her nose as she shrugs and suggests, Salad and baked potatoes? Nodding as decisively as she is capable, Elika heads to the fridge to start gathering what she'll need to make the salad as she asks Delaana, Do you mind being on baked potato duty, my Ceesi? I'm pretty sure we have a bag in the pantry behind you there."

Oh no you didn't ... "Did you just roll your eyes at me? I ask Gorgeous feigning theatrical shock currently, though I don't buy the eye-roll since from the looks of it she is smiling. Mhmm, that's what I thought, Gorgeous, now please skedaddle to the kitchen, apparently that is the place where things happen. I would know, since ... Mind in the gutter again ... PG, PG gotta keep it PG, kids are around. Raising both of my hands knowing exactly that Gorgeous will understand right then and there, besides she knows me that much to know that I am relentless, gutter minded, and I usually do not have any filter. Enjoy it, while it last since apparently, well I have no idea yet if I can go inside or not."
Furrowing my eyebrows at the thought since Baby Girl pretty much has used both Gorgeous and the Hapan Bombshell as her proxies to stop me from going inside, and right now I haven't seen Ares and Alisha back yet, so I am guessing that embargo is still in effect. But right now, since apparently I am to blame if Ares isn't able to put the final touches on the cake, I turn to look at Baby Girl jadedly and roll my eyes grabbing her forearm and lowering my tone as if I am confiding a great secret. "Baby Girl, you have seen how Alisha was earlier, and, you and I both know what happens when frustration happens ..." It is a known fact, heck I am not going to be the one to spell it out, because again, PG.
Winking at her and releasing her so that she can go ask the kids how they want their meats or whatever, I look at the meats that I have to grill and thankfully they aren't overly frozen so I can diagonally slash them so that it is grilled faster, at least I hope, but I still need the marinades and I better just start up the grill so that it is hot enough to use in a moment. Wait ... There is something that I need to know, I already know Pookie from yesterday and the Hapan Bombshell, Lover Boy also, I know like Hot Stuff, they like their meats medium rare, but what about the others ... "Serrin ... Walking over the bar where she and Lover Boy are, I smile apologetically for interrupting their conversation. How do you like your meat cooked? Turning to the Jedi from Felucia and also Ice, I look at them thoughtfully and reiterate the question. Aerandir, Michelle, Morgan and Ice, your meat, how you like it? Rare, medium rare, medium, medium well, well done? Before glancing at Baby Girl since she is the expert here. Did I list it all?" I ask making a face, though I have no idea why I have asked all of that because I can't even do all those types of cooking.

*Lukas seemed to think about this question for a little bit before exclaiming that he wanted to see a water ball. Well, not in so many words. Morgan grinned, then stood up.* "Okay!" *she announced, lifting her hands before her, palms down and above the surface of the water.* "Watch this!"
*She exerted her focus on the water, but what she found briefly stumped her and made her pause: The water didn't feel alive. And she knew that had nothing to do with the fact that it likely came from an artificial source and it wasn't a natural body of water; no, it was the fact that she felt no connection with it, like she would have upon the surface of Felucia.
It had been so long since she'd been off-world that she'd forgotten what it felt like to have a "normal" connection to the Force.
But that wasn't going to stop her. Once more she raised her hands and extended her senses, scrunching up her face and reaching out. As it would seem, she could feel the life in the water, but it wasn't as vibrant to her as it would have been on her home. But still she started to collect it, moving her hands in intricate motions as she began to lift a sphere of water from the pool, managing to maintain it with a little more difficulty than she otherwise would, holding it up in Lukas, who seemed enthralled by it. She grinned, even though water sloshed from the sphere as though the "container" holding it had a few holes in it... holes that were constantly shifting location.
That was when she and Lukas had been approached by Crystal, who asked them if they preferred their meat saucing salty, sweet, or none at all. Morgan looked up, nearly losing control of the sphere but managing to hold on, though she lost some water. Lukas seemed confused by the question and asked his mommy, who was nearby and answered for him. Morgan herself was fine with both, having shared many meals with the native Felucians, so, smiling up at Crystal, she answered,* "I'll have salty too, please." *She was definitely losing some control of the sphere of water, which kept leaking and now more resembled an invisible fishbowl.
Then Lily asked the entire family how they preferred the meat itself. She knew what the terms given meant, but wasn't actually sure how to apply them to the concept of cooked meat. Once more she thought of her experiences with Felucian meals, which were definitely cooked pretty well, a little crispy, but with a little fat on it. Which was just about perfect really. So... somewhere in the middle? Taking a shot in the dark, she smiled and answered,* "Medium, please."
*And by now, the water ball was almost completely depleted. Too many distractions... she had to try harder next time. She simply let the water fall back into the pool, lightly splashing her and Lukas, then she prepared to try again... After she was sure there were no more questions, that was.
Throughout all this, the little red and black tailring Lokay, sadly neglected by his forgetful writer, chilled on the shoulder of Aerandir, keeping an eye on Morgan in the pool; he was not fond of water, after all, unless it was a shower, which was okay. But high volumes of water he was not a fan of, so he was content to stay away from the pool. The smell of food being cooked certainly got his attention, though, and it seemed he was eager for a meal as well...

*As he spoke with Ice, Aerandir did overhear the mention of him in conversation between Atlantis and Serrin, though it seemed it as merely to discuss how they were acquainted. Aerandir gave them a small smile and a nod, returning his attention to Ice, saying Jena was doing well, and that Jake had been very eager. Aerandir smiled knowingly; the boy certainly couldn't be stopped once he put his mind to something, which was a good quality to have for sure.
He along with Ice briefly looked towards the pool as Morgan and Lukas played, then he looked back to Ice as she asked about Cassie and Lucina. Aerandir nodded, replying,* "Both well. Cassie's fully-recovered and Lucy's very active. Kayla won't keep away from her most of the time; if only she'd change diapers I would like that even more," *he joked, looking towards the water again when Crystal approached the children, asking about their preferred saucing.
Something that confused poor Lukas, who looked to Ice for help answering. After Ice answered for him, Morgan gave a simple response asking for salty as well. After a moment, Lily asked the family how they preferred their meat, Morgan seeming to take a moment before answering medium; perhaps she was trying to compare it to how the Felucians cooked their meat, which Aerandir had to admit, if anyone could make rancor taste good, it was the Felucians.*
"Medium's fine for me as well, thanks," *Aerandir replied next.
Michelle, from the pool, nodded and replied,* "That's fine, please." *She seemed to be floating a little closer to where Morgan and Lukas were, but otherwise was keeping to herself.
Glancing at the tailring on his shoulder, Aerandir chuckled and explained,* "Morgan'll feed this little guy off her own plate, so you don't have to worry about him." *"Feed" was a word the tailring understood, as he began to pad his feet excitedly. "Lokay the Hungry," Aerandir occasionally jokingly called him in his thoughts...*

Other than her customarily amused smile resurfacing when Franz speaks of presently taking things slowly, his implicit admission clear to her, Ayodele does not say anything after he has finished answering her question; instead taking a moment to absorb what he has said while cautioning herself not to draw any immediate conclusions since she knows that her interpretation may not be accurate given the potential differences in the meanings she and he might assign to various words that have been used. While, overall, it sounds to Ayodele as though Franz has largely allowed circumstance or the movements of his friends and family decide his course, she supposes that there are other ways of looking at and interpreting the larger picture Franz has presented; to follow is, after all, a decision unto itself, and may be indicative of actively pursuing a course rather than passively drifting. Her species are largely solitary by nature and necessity, and Ayodele was not socialized to greatly value the interpersonal; and she is, after having stepped from the confines of the existence and pursuits her upbringing and cultural values would have defined for her, still in the process of forming her own opinions what place or value it might have for her, and so she finds that she can both understand and appreciate Franz's electing to move forward with whatever it is they have found together unhurriedly.
While Franz's invitation to explore his thoughts, values, and past through further questions seems entirely sincere, Ayodele decides to spare him from additional inquiries for the moment; having detected on several occasions what she interprets as a certain disinclination to dwell on such topics unless pressed on them. Rather, then, than ask any further questions, Ayodele instead signals her desire to step back into lighter banter by tilting her head to the side with an amused smile as she teasingly, "Something tells me that I should relent for the time being where questions are concerned, Franz. I would not want to rush you, she says without the playful tone so that her sincerity is more readily apparent as she adds, nor to rush through getting to know you. Arching an eyebrow, her playful tone returning, Ayodele asks rhetorically, Would I now?"

My lekku swish idly behind my back and then resettle as I nod to agree that there is a chance that I may be able to interact with Aerandir more than circumstance has allowed in the past; though given that today may be the last relatively peaceful and free moments that we will have with the reasons we are here, I am not entirely confident that there will be time for anything outside of the pursuit of the individual or individuals responsible for the attack that has been mistakenly lain at Andros' feet by the media. Laughing when Atlantis correctly guesses that Crystal had made me aware of the rule for the day, I nod once again before telling him, "That she did, yes. Turning to look at everyone gathered outside, I smile as I say, It is a good rule, I believe. I'm sure, at least, that you, your brother and your friends appreciate the break. To say more on the subject would take us perilously close towards breaking the rule for the day, and so I move on quickly, pursing my lips as I consider how best to answer Atlantis' question about whether or not I've had moments where a simple life seemed inviting, the question making me wonder if he is actually expressing his own occasional desire - fleeting as it may ultimately be - to have a life other than that which he has that has none of the complications that come along with it. The answer that comes immediately to mind is an unequivocal no; for I can truly say that I do not often spend time thinking of such existential questions as I find such exercises to be without any great merit unless they are being conducted for the purpose of . . .
"Are you always so resoundingly boring? I hear myself ask, glancing back towards Atlantis to see my other me leaning over his shoulder with an exasperated expression to match the tone of her voice. It's just a fun question, not a request for a dissertation or something."
As Atlantis does not react to the other me's words or presence, I know she is not a doppleganger, just another annoying visitation of the me that had been with me for much of my time on Bimmisaarai, and so I simply ignore her, reaching up to rub my right temple as I smile and tell Atlantis, "Once or twice, maybe. When I was younger, I add, frowning as I consider answering more completely; which would involve sharing things I do not often speak of. I am about to explain that there was a time that I needed to contemplate the possibility of having a different life than the one I have made for myself since, but Lily's arrival provides an opportunity to reconsider, and I realize that to bring up my past would probably be a heavier topic than might be welcome. Rare, please, I tell Lily, smiling as I add, Thank you, Lily. Returning my attention to Atlantis after Lily has gone to ask the others how they would like their meat cooked, I say as though it were what I was going to say all along, I have no regrets about not having a simpler life, if that is what you were asking. I laugh softly, not in amusement so much as at the realization I give voice to when I add, Even with all that I have seen and been through, I do not wish I had not been born with the gift Ashla gave me, or the responsibilities that came with it. Taking a sip of water, I set the bottle down, resting my hands on either side of it as I give Atlantis' question back to him, And what about you, Atlantis? Do you ever wish you had a different life, or that you could step away from the one you have now to make a simpler one? You do, I point out to him as I glance past him towards Crystal, have the ability to choose to make such a life for yourself after all."

Lakehouse - Guest Bedroom
When he walked over to her and placed his hands on her waist, telling her that he liked that color on her, she closed her eyes for a moment while reveling in his touch. She opened them again when he said that he needed to frost the cakes then suggested that she go on ahead and join the others out by the pool before leaning over to give her a peck on the lips. After pulling back from the kiss, he added that Michelle was with Aerandir and Morgan and though he didn't get the details, she seemed to be related to them. Stepping back from his embrace, Ali smiled, informing him that Michelle was Aerandir's younger sister as they exited the room, closing the door behind them, and walked toward the kitchen.
Once they were at the doorway of the kitchen, Ares reminded her what usually happens when they're in a kitchen together, adding that he'd rather not give in to the temptation this time before kissing her again and reminding her that he loved her. After returning the kiss, Ali reluctantly nodded her head in agreement to his assessment about them and being alone in kitchens.
"I love you too, chéri. Now go and finish the cakes. Besides, we still have tonight....if you're up for it...." She grinned wickedly before gently patting his cheek. Giving him a quick playful kiss on the lips, she turned and exited the kitchen making her way out to the deck....

Lakehouse — Kitchen
Ares had that amused grin on his features when he thought about what Alisha had told him. Indeed, he had retained what he needed to retain and it went from Michelle being the man's sister and the perspective of tonight. Alisha didn't have to tell that to him twice. After being away from her for a year and coming back to her, to first explain and make amends, this, right here, right now, it wasn't something he truly had expected, for him to be connected with her once again as if he had never left. Now he was engaged to her and clearly with what he had found out, he had no idea how long he would still be around but despite all of that, despite her knowing about his predicament, she still said yes. Normally Ares was the optimistic kind but after hearing about all of that story and what befell his family, it was tough to come to terms with that.
Especially when he knew that it wasn't someone from his family, it's supposed to be one of the Drakes. Which one? Ares didn't know.
Thankfully, Elika's arrival and... ummm, oh right, Delaana! Now Ares remembered... Thankfully Elika and Lana's arrival in the kitchen made him steer away from his downing thoughts as he looked at both women with a smile. Though he furrowed his eyebrows when Elika told him to not to mind them at all, when he was clearly not the one living here and for a moment he felt like he was cramping the space. "Actually, you should be the one not minding me. I am after all the party crasher." Ares jokingly said, though there was some big truth in that. Since he clearly was the silent type to be perfectly honest, he didn't really know what to say and he knew that if he didn't say anything, this cohabitation in the kitchen might be awkward.
Putting the final touches on the cakes, Ares even wrote a note on the cake for Franz and smiled looking at it before scratching the back of his head, it looked like something was missing but then again Ares wasn't the type to really be bothered by trivial things that way. Putting that away in the fridge to let it cool it so that the frosting wouldn't melt immediately, Ares washed his hands and looked at both women with a friendly smile. "Is there any ways I can help you both right now?" He asked genuinely since he did like helping that was just him but his gaze lingered more onto Elika until he averted his gaze remembering from memory that she didn't like the attention much. "By the way, it's nice to see you again and you look good and this place looks greater than what I remember." The last time he had been here, that seemed like a long time ago and he did not really see everything and now that he was, it really did seem different or maybe he is just imagining things.

All in all, Atlantis agreed with Serrin that the rule currently in place was a good rule. It allowed for all of them to have that break especially when they had been hit with the news and it was widely broadcast by the HNN here. Try as he may though to temporarily forget about that issue that concerned him and his brother, he knew that he couldn't do so but he would try for this day knowing that it impacted not just he and his brother but also his girlfriend, and their friends overall. Nevertheless, Atlantis did smile knowing when Serrin gave her genuine and heartfelt thoughts on the matter, Atlantis inclined his head to confirm his statement and took another sip of water just so he would steer clear away from that general topic that ultimately had him on edge.
The question he had asked though, often times he did wonder about how his life would be if he led a simple life but down the line, he wouldn't really know what to do to be frank. Before he could go on with his thoughts though, Atlantis noticed that Serrin was rubbing her temple, he wondered if she was okay, she seemed to be okay for she was smiling. But from what he could remember, especially back on Corellia, whenever she was rubbing her temple that way it was due to the fact that she had called upon her doppelganger and maintaining it gave her that side effect. Nothing right now though told him that she was currently calling on the Force, it was only someone and that someone seemed to be in the pool which was why he looked in that direction and noticed that it was Morgan who seemed to be having a hard time maintaining a water ball it seemed, perhaps due to the distraction.
Ultimately Atlantis returned his undivided attention onto Serrin after she had spoken with Lily who was asking how people liked their meat, though he wasn't surprised she did not ask him for she probably already knew anyways. Currently that didn't matter since he was attentively listening to Serrin and he smiled knowingly when she stated her point of view about having a simple life or not. Of course, that question was back to him, She had a point on him about having the choice to perhaps lead that simple life especially when his gaze landed onto Crystal just like Serrin's. Atlantis sighed audibly and he looked back at the Twi'lek Jedi before he shook his head. Though his action right then and there could mean perhaps he did not have that choice, or perhaps it was something else, but currently it was just a faint mannerism, a habit. "A different life? No, although I do have those fleeting thoughts from time to time..." He admitted softly, a little ashamed of that revelation, but he was still human after all. "My biological family gave Andros and I up, for whatever reasons, I never stuck around to find out, I didn't care at all, everything I have done has shaped me. If I stepped away from what I know I can do best, help people, serve and protect, I'd feel guilty, and she," Atlantis looked momentarily in Crystal's direction with a faint smile. "Might not recognize the man she has come to know." Atlantis looked back at Serrin with a faint smile before sighing softly. "I have a promise to keep and I have to be at my best in order to keep that promise."
The promise he was speaking of, that was asked by him a while ago, after he realized the reasons why his very own doppelganger had preferred to dissolve itself before Atlantis had gathered the information. "If I had a simpler life, I suppose that I wouldn't have met anyone here, and that would be a shame, like for instance," Atlantis chuckled softly deciding to lighten up the mood because their conversation was starting to be a downer, he could tell. "You and I wouldn't have joked about toasts and you might have never found out how ridiculous I could be and my apprehension in hitting women while sparring, right?"

Franz was actually expecting to be asked a question but to his own surprise, by Ayodele's own admission, she was relenting and wasn't going to ask him anything, at least nothing that seemed personal. Franz felt at little relieved, that went without saying, for truth be told, he did not want to lie to her nor omit things because it was necessary, instead though, his own sheepish smile was showing on his features and he chuckled softly looking at her playfully. "I accept that, though quite honestly that sounds like a nice perspective for me." Franz wasn't mocking her, no, nor was he actually making her consider to do otherwise than what she had decided, nevertheless, he did not hesitate to explain. "Compared to the lawyer over there," Franz gestured towards Lily who seemed to be asking something to Serrin, he looked back at Ayodele with an amused smile. "She is the epitome of relentless, so it's a nice change, and I thank you muchly for that."
Franz picked up his water once more and took a sip of his drink, smiling soon enough, though he did look at Ayodele for a moment in silence. Truth be told he didn't know that much about her but the fact that she was from Polus and had seen some other planets, also liked to discover places, like the one she had shown him yesterday. Plus added to his observations, she also enjoyed the sun and the water. But still it did not give him that much detail about her either, but he was fine with what he did know for now. Like he also had mentioned earlier, he wasn't in a rush and would take that time he could have with her to get to know her better too.
"In your own time, I do not wish to rush you either in getting to know me." Franz told her sincerely before looking over to Lily hearing her question about how people like their meat cooked, Franz soon looked at Ayodele dubiously although he wondered something, and he clearly had not asked that previously. "I have no idea if one of them asked you earlier, but was there something in particular you wanted to ear, and also if you preferred one type of food over another?" Franz asked curiously before nibbling the corner of his lower lip in thought for to be perfectly honest, he had assumed to begin with that she could eat anything and everything, perhaps but maybe he was wrong about that, since again he didn't know what food she favored, her answers though would give him an idea for the future hopefully.

Lukas giggled when Morgan scrunched up her face in concentration as she moved her hands with smooth motions. Before long she had managed to lift a sphere of water from the pool. Grinning, Lukas clapped his hands together while Morgan held the water ball up for him to see. Laughing in delight, Lukas glanced up at Ice. "Mogie made a waterball!!"
Chuckling, Ice arched an impressed eyebrow and grinned. "I see that, dude, and it's a pretty good one too." She gave Morgan an approving wink before facing Aerandir again when he spoke answering her question of how Cassie and baby Lucy were doing. "I'm glad to hear they're doing well and don't worry....eventually Kayla will try her hand at diaper changing." She stated optimistically with a smile.
It was then that she heard Lily asking them how they liked their meats cooked. Looking thoughtfully at Lukas for a moment, she turned her head meeting Lily's gaze. "I think medium well will be fine for us." She indicated with a nod of her head toward Lukas, who was pretty much oblivious to anyone who wasn't Morgan at the moment. "Just as long as it doesn't try to escape from the plate, or make noises when I cut into it, then it's all good." She gave Lily a teasing smirk with the last sentence.

Lana pursed her lips at the back and forth between the three housemates. It really was amusing her and one could even say that whatever was happening to the Vyridian brothers wasn't affecting them, unless they were just good at masking their emotions, or perhaps they were disinclined to bend the AG's rule of the day. Lana did not blame them at all, she knew how Counselor Ljiljana Jankovic could be when on a case. "You guess?" Lana repeated teasingly before shaking her head playfully. "And here I was making a sincere offer, I suppose that I will have to find other ways to get you thrilled." She added on playfully before lifting a finger to ask for a moment, she fetched her dress and put that on after drying her body before following Elika right inside of the lakehouse.
Lakehouse - Kitchen
Upon arriving there, Lana saw Crystal's other brother who was working on the cakes, she smiled a friendly smile to him before waving her hand. "Hi," Lana said softly before turning to look at Elika who had suggested salad and baked potatoes for the side dishes. That would work perfectly, though she wondered if maybe they could perhaps upgrade the potatoes into something more. Nodding her head with a knowingly smile, Lana retrieve the baked potatoes where Elika had told her where she could find it and looked at the architect thoughtfully. "I have an idea, my Shakal, it's one of the few dishes I can do." Lana said with an amused grin. "Potato gratin?" Lana suggested but she would be needing a few more ingredients, though it made her wonder if that would be too much with the meat and salad already. "Or would that be too heavy, and we just keep it light by just baking it?"
Turning to look at Ares who was offering his help, Lana smiled at him gratefully although something told her that perhaps he should be spending some time with his sister over there by the pool instead of remaining here and helping out, plus he already made the cakes that seemed to be done and cooling into the conservator. "Thanks for the offer, sir, but you have already done a lot, wouldn't want to give you more chores and prevent you from spending some time with your family."
