-Z'har I hold blame to the ones that give the orders, not the ones that follow them. However, I'm certain I can find some way to even the scales with you in that regard.
A somewhat predatory grin matched his words. Beyond the room, the nightly storm was once again raging in impotent fury against the Citadel.

"Riiiight," was the one-word skeptical response. Jade smiled back in an equally ferocious manner, "not if you don't do something about it soon. This night won't last forever!" she taunted, fully aware that she was playing with fire and enjoying the sensation immensely with a fervor that would have shocked the collective Force Ghosts of the entire Old Jedi Order if they had still been in that state. Luckily, they weren't.

-Z'har Who says I plan on getting even tonight? The way I see it, it may take a Very. Long. Time.
The last three words are drawn out as he punctuates the words with kisses. The first at her collar bone, the second on the side of her neck, before finally capturing her lips with his own.

"Mmmm, I---" Jade broke off to pull him closer and run her fingers up the back of his neck into his hair. That definitely sounded like grand idea, and she didn't have a problem letting him know that she thought so.

Eventually, the storm broke, leaving a few hours of clear night sky. It was these early hours that found Z'har standing on the terrace looking up at the multitude of stars. Dawn was still nearly an hour away, but the edge of the horizon was just beginning to show the first little hints of light. At the base of the massive structure, strands of fog clung & swirled like a living thing. But the mists could not reach the high ledge where Z'har stood. Even though he was nearly a kilometre above the ground, the air was warm & thick with moisture.
In a way he traveled the galaxy nearly constantly. However it would also be accurate to say that since his parting with Ael, he had withdrawn from the outside. Surrounded by layers of defenses, it had taken her sudden & unexpected reappearance to pull him for the dry stupor like state he had unknowingly buried himself in. This would be the first time in nearly four decades that he would mingle with those not directly under his command. Three decades since he had left the safety of one fortress or another. It was a monumental step. For a while he was left musing about his wild youth, the last time he had been truly free to see the galaxy. No family or history to hold him back. No responsibilities or reputation to hold him down. Just the gentle starlight & the clank of loose deck plates guiding his way.

Jade woke up and immediately knew that Z'har was not with her. Rolling silently out of bed, she scooped up the kimono/robe that she'd worn for a brief time the night before and pulled it on while she looked around. The Admiral's form was silhouetted against the lighter sky outside and she could only guess at what he was thinking. He had as much as told her that he'd lived an almost completely insulated life since the two of them had parted ways all those years ago.
Quietly she walked closer and then slipped her arms around his waist in a gentle hug as she leaned her head against his back.

He heard her steps behind him well before she reached the terrace, but he didn't bother to react. For a few moments after her arms slipped him from his revery he continued to gaze up at the stars.
-Z'har It is a strange feeling. Knowing that I'm going out in the galaxy again. Knowing that you are leaving the protection of the known behind. It has been a long time since I felt like this.

"Ehhhuhm, well, it has been awhile since I've collected a bounty on myself," she responded in a muffled tone of voice, sympathizing with him. It must be quite a change to step outside the meticulously ordered realm that he had created. He probably felt naked. That made her smile because it was indeed the literal fact of the matter, but that was not the point at the moment. "I'll take care of you," she promised.

-Z'har Should I be worried about your habit of turning yourself over for bounties? That seems to be a most worrying bit of sport.
A fall back on humour to lighten the situation & steel himself for the trip he would shortly be making. He had already decided to only take a single small travel duffel, & had already packed in.

"Turning myself in to you is worrying?" she responded lightly, stepping around in front of him to look in his eyes before stretching up to lightly kiss him. "I thought you liked 'negotiating' from a position of power," she teased him gently as she got dressed herself. When he looked worried as he did at present she felt it tug at something deep inside her. Silently she wondered if she was finally discovering what it really meant to love someone. She felt vulnerable, but at the same time, strong.

-Z'har Yes well, I was more worried that you might try that trick on someone whose company isn't quite as pleasurable as mine.
In truth, he was somewhat worried that she might end up in a position that she couldn't get out of on her own. Despite her formidable skills, there were still risks that could threaten even a Jedi Master.

"I doubt that is as likely a scenario as you anticipate," Jade replied, though the fact that he had practically confessed to worrying about her well-being was satisfying on so many levels right now. She turned to face him and wrapped her arms tightly around his back, pulling him close against her. "I'm not as reckless as you seem to be thinking..."

-Z'har No, but I know better than most that even the most well laid & careful of plans occasionally go incredibly, intriguingly wrong with little notice.
As he says this, he gently pulls her around in front of him & wraps her up in his arms, almost as if the sheer action could ward off misfortune.

"Hey, I know," Jade replied gently. Looking up at him this closely she could see the worry in his eyes, as well as feel the gentle, but strong protective strength in his arms as he picked her up bodily and held her tightly against his chest. She slipped one hand up to the back of his neck and then kissed him slowly, reassuringly, enjoying the warmth of his lips pressed against hers, "I'm just glad we've gotten to see each other again, and--" she broke off a moment, voice husky with emotion, "don't try any more experiments without me around, because if something happens and I'm not here to---to be with you, to say goodbye at least, I'll make you sorry!"

-Z'har I happen to think my record is fairly good. I only had one major accident in nearly six decades of tinkering. Though if it sets your mind at ease, most of my experiments are done theoretically, with others later attempting practical demonstrations.
He hadn't realized that he had completely picked her up for a moment. Once he did notice however, he lowered her back to the ground.

"Fine," she answered, however she was aware that he had promised nothing. So, she'd have to keep an eye on him in case anything happened. Later she added, "Well, I don't think everything went wrong...you yourself pointed out some of the advantages of the current state of things." She smiled as he set her down, though she didn't move away from him.

-Z'har Of course, it helps that I more or less abandoned that line of research after my little mishap. It is probably for the best, I doubt the galaxy could handle more beings as I exist now.
The line of pink on the horizon was steadily growing now. Dawn was not more than half an hour away, & it would take time to reach the transport that would carry them back into the currents of the galaxy.
-Z'har It is about time for us to get moving.
Having stated this Z'har begins making his way back to the room beyond the terrace.

Jade got dressed in the clothes she'd originally been wearing, though they'd been taken away and cleaned since then. She didn't have anything to pack since, well, since a simple bounty collecting expedition had taken a different turn, and Z'har had provided her with clothes while she was here with him. She picked up her heavy utility belt and fastened it around her waist, her lightsaber on her right, and the one belonging to a former friend who had long since been dead on her left. Finally, she brushed her hair and twisted loosely into a knot at the nape of her neck, fastening it in place with the matching set of hairsticks that Z'har had given her.
She picked up her long outer robe and wrapped it around herself, slipping her arms into the sleeves as she did so.

The admiral's clothing wasn't something he was used to. Beyond a pair of Atmo-goggles, he wore a rather plain & not-quite-fitted suit, with simple boots & a rather worn looking duffel bag. The suit was a little too thick in the chest & round in the arms, suggest that it had been tailored once, but the owner had since lost a bit of muscle. The boots had various scuffs & the treads on the bottom were fairly worn done, suggesting a job that required a fair bit of back & forth. In actual fact, all the items were brand new, but designed to give the appearance that they had seen a fair bit of use. Inside the duffel was a collection of various simple outfits, a datapad, a small stack of datacards, A small blaster that was perfectly legal pretty much anywhere in the galaxy, as well as a wallet with his ID cards & a few hundred credits.
The items had not been randomly chosen. The list was practically identical to what he had started with when he had first set off on his own. The only changes were to update the items to those currently available.
Once both were ready, the two of them headed back through the Citadel. Eventually reaching a transfer station at the base of the massive structure. Joining the end of the line, the pair made slowly worked their way to the front. There they were stopped by the guard checking the IDs & belongings of those leaving the Citadel. Those that were cleared boarded a replusorbus that had had the windows replaced with additional armour plating. Handing over the duffel, Z'har calmly allowed himself to be scanned.
-Guard Z'har Desmonde, Let's see. Business trip. was your visit enjoyable?
-Z'har Very much so, I even met this nice young lady.
After that brief exchange, the guard was silent as he finished checking everything. Once he was sure that the 'Outsider' wasn't carrying anything he shouldn't be, Z'har was waved forward into the Bus. Next the Guard turned to Jade.
-Guard Ael Jade. Reason for visit is listed as personal. Visiting family perhaps?

Jade swallowed her automatic "it's none of your business" retort and maintained a level calm. She was surprised that chattiness was encouraged among the guards here. "In a manner of speaking," she replied with dignity, eyeing Z'har's back as he disappeared onto the waiting bus. She wasn't sure whether or not this was better than her mode of arrival on planet. Well, actually, she supposed it was, but the comparison did occur to her. Emerald green eyes sized up the guard silently as she waited for either her papers to be returned and herself to be waved forward, or for him to summon backup. That would be...awkward.
