-Z'har Of course it did. You were simply the face of dignity last night.
While the words were slightly mocking, the tone he used was light enough to convey that the joke was not mean to harm. Taking her advice, he wrapped his arms around her waist. Though not without some minor detours.

Jade naturally was too busy steering a rather precipitous return to the citadel proper to 'dignify' the Mandalorian Admiral's overtures with an appropriate response. As she skidded them to a dusty halt hard by where they had originally borrowed the speeder-bike from she finally spoke up, "I seem to recall that at one point you were inclined less to command and a bit more to... pleading? than one would expect from someone with your illustrious career---" she challenged, left eyebrow steeply arched in a skeptical taunt.

Stepping forward, he leans forward & silences the end of her statement with a kiss. After a long moment he breaks the kiss just enough to reply.
-Z'har I think you will find that I can be commanding when the need arises.

"I would not be at all surprised," she whispered back, wrapping her arms around the Zabrak's waist to pull him closer for a moment, while contemplating all the different ways she could have manipulated the interpretation of 'need arise' in the context of how he had used it in the first place.

Deciding that a random hanger bay probably not the best idea in the world. The fact that it was still only early afternoon made it a little early to be heading off to bed. It would however be a good time for some lunch, as the walking most likely would have worked up an appetite.
-Z'har In the mood for anything in particular for lunch? The Citadel has a wide range of choices.

"Kabobs... freshly killed and roasted over a fire," she replied without hesitation. There was just something about them, not to mention, they were difficult to mess up or tamper with, not that she really thought there was much danger of that here in Mondder. She was pretty hungry by now anyway, and the warmth of a fire was always enjoyable, unless of course one was stewing in a pot over said fire, but that was a different story.

-Z'har I know just the place.
Checking the time internally, he saw that he had enough time to get the two of them to the place he had in mind. Before long, the pair found themselves sitting at a small booth looking down into a sand-filled pit. In the middle of the table, a small but warm flame was burning. Other than that & the spotlights shining into the arena, there weren't any lights on. A few moments later a massive reek is set loose in the arena.
-Z'har It is a combination of a show & a feast. Pretty soon the reek will be joined by a fighter. The point of the fight is for the fighter to come as close to the beast as possible without being gored or trampled. Despite its size, the reek will tire quickly, once that happen the fighter is given a weapon & kills the beast with a single strike. After that, the meat is chopped up & delivered fresh into the stands. The beast itself isn't wild, instead it is cloned right here in the citadel. The lamps are for cooking the meat.

Surprised, Jade had to admit that she was impressed. "I see you are a literal man, were you trying to impress me?" she inquired warmly. She sat down next to him, facing the arena, and curling up her legs under herself lotus-style while picking up a skewer and eyeing its point for sharpness. "Good job."

-Z'har Usually the show is only held once a month. Other, lesser beasts are much more usual. Apparently, it is some form of traditional right of man hood for the people that run the show, though others can ask to participate, after a training course anyway.
Shortly after that statement, a young man entered the central ring of the arena. Wearing nothing more than a short leather skirt & a spiral of blue paint on his chest, he holds his arms wide as the crowd cheers.
With a pair of claps, the fighter draws the attention of the large beast. The two figures in the arena eyed each other for a long moment. A handful of sand tossed by the smaller of the two seemed like the signal to start as the larger beast charged. Waiting until the beast was nearly on top of him, the smaller figure spun away from the larger one. The cheers to this were not quite as loud as the first cheers.
-Z'har The point of the show is to come as close to the reek as possible without dying. While allowing the creature to tire itself enough that it lies down for the finishing stoke. If either is hurt before the finishing blow, it is seen as a mark of shame & generally counts against their score. The number of times the fight manages to touch the reek is counted as the score, it is rare for it to happen more than four or five times in a match. Any more than twice is seen as a mark of skill.
Soon, the massive beast had turned itself around & made another pass at the fighter. This time he managed to trail his fingers along the beast's flank as it passed, earning himself another deafening cheer from the crowd. The 'fight' continues this way for some time, with both fighters showing significant weariness. Eventually the reek settled down onto its haunches & refused to rise at the fighter's goading. A small spear was thrown into the ring, little more than a two foot length of sharpened metal. Slowly walking up the the beast, the fighter positioned himself at the creature's neck. With a quick thrust, the spear pierced the back of the creature's skull. The crowd roared with approval as the fight hefted the bloody weapon above his head & droids moved out into the arena to cut up the beast. The fighter had managed to touch the beast three times, but had received a cut on his shoulder the third time.
Soon, the meat was making its rounds among the spectators.

It did not take long for Jade to grasp the initial rules of the spectacle. As the freshly killed meat was making its rounds, she snagged a tender looking bit with the sharp end of her skewer and deftly added a few vegetables and herbs as well before popping it over the fire.
"So, I guess tickets sell out pretty quickly then?" She imagined there was probably a waiting list since this event only took place once a month. "Or you paid a hefty bribe..." she surmised, quickly looking up at him. "Have you ever, uhm, touched a reek?"

While it is true that there was a waiting list for the show, the entertainment for other times meant that there were plenty of other things to draw attention. Another factor was the population of the Citadel was fairly stable, with few entering & fewer leaving. This mean that most either had had or would had a chance to see the show at least once if they were the least bit interested.
-Z'har Less of a bribe & more of a connection. I have gone somewhat out of my way to make friends with most of the major names here on the citadel, though not as the admiral of course. As such it doesn't take much more than asking to get in to most places here. Even without my true identity being know.
Ask for your second question, no I have never danced in the arena here. While it might have been something I would have tried in my youth, it is not something I'm willing to risk this body over.

"That is understandable of course," she replied. Even with practically unlimited resources, clone-type bodies required a specific amount of time to grow. While she was not sure of the precise limitations and composition of Z'har's current manifestation, she could see that it would be a similar type case. However, the spirit of inquisition prompted her, so around a juicy bite of fire-roasted reek flank she queried with an elegantly uplifted eyebrow, "Just what exactly would you ever consider it worth risking for?" as she eyed his physique appreciatively.

He seemed to think about that question for a little bit before answering. Taking the time to cook a chunk of the meat & eat it.
-Z'har In truth, I don't take many risks. With this or any body. However, sending this one out into the galaxy at large would definitely constitute a risk. So I would have to say that the answer to your question is you.

Jade did not say anything for a time, ostensibly busy with her skewer, though if her Zabrak companion was paying attention he could see the deep blush that suffused her skin all the way down her neck. She had barely looked up when his eyes seemed to meet hers and pierce all the way to her soul. Naturally, she looked away again and played for time by taking another bite.
The petite Jedi was deeply honored by what he'd said. So much so, that she could not think of anything suitable to respond with as in this case words would have fallen much shorter than her feelings. When one has spent a lifetime learning not to feel, it's a hard lesson to unlearn. She slid over to sit next to him. Setting down her skewer temporarily, she leaned up and brushed a heartfelt kiss against his lips. "Z'har... I---"

Her companion was in fact paying attention. His bio-mechanical eyes were also much better at seeing in the dim light that most truly organic beings. Both of these together meant that he did indeed spot the blush making its way lower toward her chest. He debated, for a very brief time, whether to crack a joke after the kiss. However, he decided to think better of it & wait for her to decide how to finish her statement.
Altogether, these thoughts managed to move the awareness of the slight weight in one of his pockets several steps up in importance. Inside the pocket was a braided chain with two things hanging from it.

"---uhm, nothing." Jade feigned a cough and quickly hugged him before returning to her food, aware that his attention seemed to be slightly drifting elsewhere, to what she did not know. Certainly this lessened Force awareness around him was inhibitive, and she was feeling inquisitive. And a bit angry. Whether at herself or him remained to be seen.
Well, this is damned awkward! she reflected to herself, furious that it was technically simple to say what was on her mind, but only too hard to actually articulate it when the moment came. It'd be far easier to simply kill him, and naturally that would be pretty near impossible.

It was quite obviously something other than nothing. He had let this slip away from him once, he wasn't about to again. Especially, when it looked like she mostly felt the same.
-Z'har I don't think it is nothing. In fact, I think it is everything. Is it that hard for you to say as well?

"Mmmm, it would seem so." she replied with an infinitesimal sigh, absentmindedly resuming her skewer, before suddenly looking up at him with a smile that made her eyes shine with light, "Wait, what have you been trying to say?"

As a reply, he reach into one of his pockets & pulls out the chain. Laying it on the table in front of the two of them.
-Z'har I had intended to give you one of these fifty years ago. I have been carrying them since then.
Hanging from the chain was a pair of matching rings. Each was a simple stone band. One was a fair bit larger than the other. The rings were white marble with veins of raw gold threading them. The truly eye catching part of the rings was the fact that each of them was set with three jewels in rub-over settings equally spaced around the rings. They were no ordinary jewels though. Each was a Corusca gem, shimmering with a fiery passion in the dim light.

"But that's...pretty close to priceless, isn't it?" Gems were not her specialty, but even to her untrained eye, there was far more solid money sitting in the Zabrak's hand right now than she'd ever been likely to possess. That was a side matter though, and of less importance than something else.
She slipped her hand gently into his and replied huskily in a low voice, ignoring the firelight dancing off the rings, "I am sorry." Osarian sometimes seemed sunk into the long past, other times, like it was yesterday, but it had haunted her thoughts for many years. Unfortunately, time travel was still only a theoretical pipedream.
