Thing? Thing? This was the security chosen for a diplomatic event? No diplomatic team should have addressed anyone so crudely. They were obviously not a crack squad chosen for this even. She glared turbolasers at them.
=Ar'lah= Don't move.
Ar'lah stormed over to the Vor, and pulled up her yellow dress over her ample cleavage. Excuse me, but you are making a series of terrible mistakes right now. I demand that you remedy them. Now. That young man has been invited by the Rylothian Diplomatic core, me in particular. That means that while he is my escort, my diplomatic immunity extends to him. You men have behaved rudely to the guests, harassed this young man, and prepared to arrest him without cause nor jurisdiction.
As head of security, you should not be drinking. You should be checking people at the door, before guests arrive. Order your men to release that young human and apologize to him. Once they have done that, they should return to their posts. And do not throw out anyone else without first consulting me, as Ryloth's foreign affairs advisor.
In truth, Ar'lah cared little about the situation, except that she had been in prison for 20 years. She enjoyed throwing her weight around, and she was also... lonely. She felt like indulging her lusts with this peasant.

The two Jedi spotted Seleevan Khar among the guests at almost the exact same instant, and made immediate eye contact. Kel did not need to exchange a single word with his younger counterpart, Jordan immediately knew what was expected of him.=Jordan Halcyon=Slipping through the crowd as unobtrusively as possible, he made his way to the outer edges of the circle of onlookers that was beginning to form around Koronov and Cass. He kept his presence within the Force dampened as much as he could without endangering his own awareness of his closest surroundings, and there was no ill intent in the Knight's motives, only curiosity and a determination to watch and observe. Opportunities like this were exactly why Master Raganella had brought Knight Halcyon with him in the first place: to gather information and allow Kel the freedom to mingle as an emissary of the Jedi and the Republic, without distraction. =Jordan Halcyon=The Jedi Knight assigned to shadow Khar by Master Raganella had had enough. It was time to make his presence known. Stepping toward the confrontation, he cleared his throat."I suggest you do as the lady says. Otherwise, may I remind everyone that this is a Republic world, and any security incident here must be dealt with according to Republic law. If you refuse her, and you refuse me, I will call in the Senate Guard and have the room cleared." The young knight said, speaking firmly and loudly enough so that a good portion of the guests could hear him."First, this man has been accused of possessing a lightsaber. That makes this case Jedi business, according to our mandate to guide and oversee all Force use in the Republic. If the man you are harrassing is a Jedi, then you should be ashamed of yourselves, and release him to Jedi custody. We will deal with him in our own way and repremand him if the council deems it necessary." His eyes flashed, not with anger, but with determination. "If, however, as I suspect, he is not a Jedi, then that saber may be stolen property and subject to confiscation. May I see the weapon? I may be able to identify it." Jordan hated to cast more suspicion on the young man, but he knew that the reactions to his request would reveal much about the situation. He lowered his voice to address the Twi'lek sympathetically. "I'm sorry about all this, and for increasing your guest's embarrassment, but there's a line that needed to be drawn here."

Orik snarled, wanting nothing more than to rip this native apart, but remembering his mission. He breathed in deeply and silently prayed to the Gods for patience and talked to the man while his companion stormed in another direction. "Your name-calling does not offend me, infidel. Your lack of respect for your superiors does, however. Where I come from, such attitude would be punished severely. Perhaps you do require cleansing, as the alien suggests?"

As the outraged guests have started flying around, sel didnt move an inch at first. The twilek started to babble at him histerically, and he cought her in a lie, second of the same sort today. This indulged Seleevan a lot while he finnished off "drinking" his wine bottle. Vors lack lips, thanks to the large beak, thus drinking looks a lot more animalistic and uncivilised to other races when Vors do it. Its like filling a bowl, then gargling the contents down as fast as one wish to enjoy the liquid. This Sel now did, put down the empty bottle of wine and finally turned around at his social attackers.
A twilek and a jedi whom jumped out of literally nowhere.
"Lady, gather yourself, and start again, this time without lieing. I will not be lied to."
Turning to the jedi, Khar suddenly had a hand emerge from its sleeve with the lightsaber in question. The mans prints would still be on them, since Sel not only has a bloody god damned beak, but handy claws also.
"The man is not charged officially yet. That is, as you say, your business. You are more then welcome to escort him out of this event and question him however you like. My main concern is to keep this party free of death and destruction.
The lightsaber."

Anya watched the event unfold before them, her eyes focused and mind ready. This was far from a smooth apprehension. She didn't know the complete truth or where each person stood. All she knew was it was creating a ruckus. She could see it, like ripples. This started with two and now others where getting involved to sort everything out. If it grew larger, things would probably get rough. If that happened, the Emperor could be in danger.
Despite not knowing the reality of what was happening, she wasn't fond of the Vorr. To her, he seemed to have no issue throwing his position and strength around, certain that he was right about this man, no matter what anyone else said. Not only that, but to leave things to the other guards and go off to have a drink showed him unprofessional, unless he was acting undercover. If that was the case, someone of the next highest authority should have been at the gate checking everyone thoroughly. She was on guard duty herself and couldn't spend time casually walking around and enjoying herself. It was her duty to stay close to the emperor and keep him safe.
She kept quiet aside from speaking in the conversation the Emperor had brought her into, keeping herself alert for everything around her.

Ar'lah looked offended. I did not lie. I invited him, just now. It is my right. Besides, look around. She gestured to Crom'nen's Twi'lek guards on the stairs, as well as the massive beast Dunn that stood near him. Crom'nen's honor guard has spears, albeit blunted. His person bodyguard has that massive scimitar strapped to his side. My understanding is that ceremonial weapons are allowed, but not blasters, explosives, or any other kind of projectile. The lightsaber can be argued to be a ceremonial weapon, a right of the Jedi. This is not the first galactic Empire, where only Lord Vader and Inquisitors could bear such a weapon. He has shown to be no threat, and if he does, there are both Jedi and Imperial Knights who are more than qualified to deal with such a threat. Now release him before you do any further damage to the party.

He was surprised at how offhandedly she had told him that. He knew what it was like to be a hunted man, always looking over your shoulder never wanting to get close to someone. In a way he was still hunted, but now no one would be looking for him as he had officially died two years ago. Although they may know his name the face would be that of a stranger. The only person who would know of his return was in this room. A man he had helped spur into claiming his current role and even he would not recognize the face. It was a gambit Xeonon, had had to use in order to gain entry. Risk someone knowing him, and calling bullshit when they saw his face or just not get in. Living with a bounty on your head is never easy, and most wouldnt blame you for finding some hole and hiding in it. Very noble of you to come support this planet Mia Ikova. So tell me dear, did you come here by your lonesome? I think you misunderstand, I am not hunted. Rather, my father sought to "rescue" me. The bounties for that rescue have been payed out years ago. I am actually accompanying my employer, Senator Koresh of Tralus, this evening. She pauses for a second. He always seeks new alliances with powerful individuals.

Sure, Avaro looks around for Landrin, I think he went this way. Avaro begins to sip at the champagne and begins to cough violently. This drink is disgusting, why does anyone drink this stuff? Bel'fima smiled at him.Not me. When I was a slave, my master would often have champagne at celebrations, then farm me out to his friends. The smell of champagne does not evoke happy memories to me. Meanwhile... Avaro leads Bel'fima to where Landrin stands. Landrin, this is Bel'fima.

Crom'nen smiled, genuinely, so it seemed. You are of no intrusion. I am sorry to hear that your family is so ill treated. From the outside, it seems that all your culture values is ability, not lineage, but I suppose outside appearances are always deceptive. I too came from a culture of castes. I should be a merchant. Luckily, my parents saw more in me. So did the Clan Council. So instead of trying to save a few pennies on a load of nerf, here I am in the center of galactic influence. That is the true beauty of Coruscant. As the galaxy's melting bowl, each of us can seek opportunity. You may even find opportunity here, if you wish. There was no particular reason to mislead though the Senator had apparently misunderstood her clan's status. Aya lets out a small sweet laugh that seem to fit perfectly with her small form.-Aya I believe you misunderstand, Sir Senator. My Clan is not ill treated. Indeed D'Ordinii is a rather powerful clan. However, we are a relatively new clan. A recent off-shoot of another clan. We are also known among the Vode as being somewhat ... Unorthodox. Enough so that some clans call us Dar'manda, outcasts to use the basic tongue, though very rarely to our face. It is for that reason that my Clan forsook most of our claims on the Holy World. It is better to keep to the edges of the Empire than to cause problems. Of course, that position at the edge of the Empire is what grants us our power, for we deal heavily with the non-Mando factions of the universe. We then use that power to enrich the Empire as a whole.

Turning to the jedi, Khar suddenly had a hand emerge from its sleeve with the lightsaber in question. The mans prints would still be on them, since Sel not only has a bloody god damned beak, but handy claws also."The man is not charged officially yet. That is, as you say, your business. You are more then welcome to escort him out of this event and question him however you like. My main concern is to keep this party free of death and destruction. The lightsaber." =Jordan Halcyon=The young Jedi Knight was surprised that the Vor had been able to detect the lightsaber crystal and the deceit that had been used to conceal it so carefully. This indicated, although it did not prove, that Khar might be in tune with the Force. But that was an observation on which to meditate later, on his own time, and report to his superiors. First, he had a dispute to calm. "That is reasonable, after all, this is your party. Unless you wish to grant this young lady's wishes" He nodded to Ar'lah "and allow her guest to remain, I will escort your unwanted guest outside for questioning. I am sure that I can discover the truth of this matter." He stretched his right hand out towards the curved, silver and black saber hilt in the Vor's clutches, intending to take it from the self-claimed head of security (if Khar would allow him) and call it to himself telekinetically through the Force. Jordan had seen the man found in possession of the weapon, as had everyone else, and he doubted the prints on the hilt would add anything, but he would not directly touch it, at least not yet. And the Vor had no true claim to the item -- either it legally belonged to the red-eyed stranger, or it was stolen Jedi property. Once more, he was testing Khar's reactions and willingness to cooperate.

The Emperor gives an affirmative nod to the Corellian. Koronov was indeed a veteran among the senators within the Republic. He carefully chose his words and displayed his expertise in speaking. Such a man could be a worthy ally and adversary.Indeed, Senator. Citizens, the lives of innocent people, should never endure the punishments and consequences of war and battle. While some may think that to kill them ensures they are not handed a weapon to strike back later, there are plenty who have no desire nor the ability to do so.Nicademus grabs himself a drink from a passing waiter. He sips it lightly; this one had quite the kick to it. The Imperial wondered if one of his old acquaintances, Tyrana, had tried it before. He takes another sip before speaking further. We will have to wait and see how relations between the Republic and Empire go, Senator. There are plenty among both of our ranks that would not even think of holding hands with the other nor willing to even consider more cordial relations. Such hardliners will make things difficult, very difficult.Nicademus calmly turns to the side, gesturing to the two Imperial knights present with him. The Imperial had nearly forgotten to introduce those who came with him. His gaze turns to Koronov for a moment.Senator, I forgot to introduce to you those with me. On your right is a recent recruit to the Imperial Knights, Anya Syen. To the left of her is Imperial Knight's veteran, Darren. They were hand chosen by myself to serve as my escort during the charity event. Anya took a step forward and gave a bow to Koronov. She was surprised he was introducing them. All she had planned was to guard the Emperor, not mingle with the guests."It is a pleasure, Senator." Dmitri had been angered as he watched how the Imperial security team (or whatever they were) mishandled the intruder to the celebration. They had escalated the situation unnecessarily, and now it was drawing a lot of attention. A murmur went through the nearby crowd, and some guests began to edge away from the confrontation, while others surged forward. There was a din of raised voices as some objected to the man's detention, while others argued with each other and with the first group. The Senator had been about to summon his own security detail when he saw the Jedi Knight thread his way to the front of the crowd. Satisfied, Koronov relaxed and returned his attention to the Emperor."My apologies for the disruption. I have seen that young man before, and I do not believe he meant us any harm. He should have been treated more gently." "But back to business. I see no reason why political adversaries cannot build cordial friendships, whether they be rivals within the Republic, or between the Republic and the Empire. After all, who is more likely to listen to suggestions for self-improvement? I will always have more influence with someone who respects me on a personal level, than someone who I have intentionally alienated." He sighed, and sipped his drink. "But you are quite right, we both have many young, red-blooded, patriotic politicians who would rather fight than negotiate. I was one of them once." The Senator nodded politely to each Knight as they were introduced."Does this mean, then, that you intend for your Empire to reject the use of the Dark Side of the Force?" He had not intended to ask the question so bluntly, but an Empire free of the Sith was a long-held dream among some in the Republic. It was a more pragmatic, attainable goal than the complete annihilation of the Empire. Koronov was not opposed to either solution, but he was a realist. It would be much easier for democracy to seep into the Empire and pervade it from within once the Sith were banished from its ranks.

Standash smiles at Kel's invitation. That does sound very nice. I do plan on visiting as many Republic worlds as I can. I may represent Alderaan, but I know that I hope to do everything for the good of the Republic. I will only be able to do this if I know the people first hand. I have read up on most all of them, but books and vids never do justice to the people. Am i right? She takes a glass of champagne from a passing server droid and sips it. The lights make her grand gown shimmer and reflect a rainbow of colors. The Jedi Master smiled. "A very wise observation. You must have had good mentors. When I was more directly involved in politics, I followed a similar approach. Leading from the front is always more successful. People will follow you because they trust you, not just because they fear you or want something from you." He paused as his voice got a little bit nostalgic. "But it does take a certain amount of courage and fearlessness to go out and mingle with your allies and your enemies. I was detained on three occasions, and each time I learned a lot about patience. Because I kept my cool, each time I was able to stay alive until I was rescued or voluntarily released." Kel never liked to brag about his time as Chief of State, but if Standash had studied his past, she would know that the Jedi had spent almost a decade in politics, starting at about her own age, before deciding that he could not continue as both a Jedi and a politician. He had served the United Federation of Free Worlds, one of the predecessors of the current Galactic Republic, and then had helped found the Galactic Coalition, which eventually was reformed into the Republic after a corruption scandal. It was this service that had earned Master Raganella an invitation to speak at the gala.Standash notices the commotion. And hears what the detainee is saying.Excuse me Master Jedi, I can't just let this pass me by. Frankly i would be shocked if you can. She runs to where the guards and the man where. Her dress shimmering. She has a fire in her eyes. The Jedi moved to follow her as he realized what was happening, and something flashed in his eyes. But Jordan was faster, and he was almost there. Deciding to let his protege handle the situation, Kel observed from afar, ready to step in only if a fight broke out. Otherwise, one Jedi was enough. Two would have made the situation worse. Instead, he let the Alderaanian Senator go, followed closely by Koronov's Twi'lek secretary, Aylee'saresh, and turned his attention to a new arrival. XEONON SOLOMON FORMER HEAD OF THE IMPERIAL KNIGHTS, AND PRESIDENT OF SOLOMON MINES The name would no doubt grab attention from the Imperials present. The man was dead, he had been bisected nearly two years prior. This was not him as a god. This was the man himself in the flesh. He no longer looked the same he did alive though. What had once been a scarred face, was now something of beabeautyuty. This was what his face would have looked like had he not been a foolhardy youth. No scars marred it, the hole on his face was gone and his eyes almost looked real.
He wore a variant of Imperial Knight armour. As he was no longer amoung its ranks having been declared dead and all his armour was orange, but was lined with jewels and the imperial insignias outlined in gold. He had to flaunt his wealth after all. Grabbing a drink from one of the passing waiters with his left hand he entered the crowd his face either that of a man snarling or trying hard to smile. His eyes wandering over the red suits surrounding Delvaradus. Lingering on Delvaradus for a little to long Former head of the Imperial Knights? That was interesting. The Jedi Order had little data on the Imperial Knights, their actual training practices in comparison to the Fel Empire era, or their leadership. If Solomon were the former head, who was in charge now? And to whom were the Knights guarding the Emperor truly most loyal, the current head, the former head, or the Emperor himself? Kel's tactical mind began to spin. He was always looking for threads that could be pulled. He did not have any current reason to want to attack the Imperials, but it never hurt to be prepared. Casually, he made his way over toward where Solomon was addressing a young woman.

I am actually accompanying my employer, Senator Koresh of Tralus, this evening. She pauses for a second. He always seeks new alliances with powerful individuals. Nodding his understanding the ex-Imperial Knight inwardly chuckled. Long ago (okay so like 60 years ago, but in another lifetime) the same thing had happened to him. He had "kidnapped" a powerful mans wife except they didnt get away. She died and he had to live on with the guilt. Your father must have loved you very much then. The same cant be said about mine Your employer? What is it that you do for the Senator exactly? Had he known the woman better, he may have added a wink to the end making it into something sexual. He did not however as this was a black tie event. That kind of thing wouldnt happen for some time yet. Not until the third or fourth act when people had consumed to much of the drink. He would wait until later for that kind of thing. Im afraid Ive been out of touch with the galaxy for about two years. Any sort of power I once held is all but diminished, after all I went from having dozens of titles to having just the two. Leaning in close to Mia he whispered in her ear Plus Im Imperial, as are all my holdings and with things as they are in the galaxy, or so Ive surmised something tells me that our two factions dont play well together. He hoped to the Gods that Tralus was still a Republic world or else he would be making a fool of himself. Maybe he was already but only time would tell. Former head of the Imperial Knights? That was interesting. The Jedi Order had little data on the Imperial Knights, their actual training practices in comparison to the Fel Empire era, or their leadership. By this time Kel'Al had made his way through the crowd to the two and was nearly on top of them before Xeonon realised he was coming this way. Again someone he did not recognize, but some things did stick out. Namely that cocky smile and green robes (unless I missed what it said you are wearing something else than ignore that part). That and the obvious aura of goodness. Jedi. Somewhere from the Core worlds but much like his counterpart he did not know much about the various Jedi temples across the galaxy. Inclining his head he smiled at the newcomerMaster Jedi

His gaze was tempted to see if his ears were deceiving him, but the Emperor would check upon it later. His own glass was moved slightly, causing the liquid within it to stir. He calmly sips it before speaking to the Corellian. The Sith's grip upon the Empire can never be truly broken, Senator. To even force it would risk my life and that of the entire Empire. After all, they were the ones who forged the core of it under the reign of the late Lord Sinistra. Yet with her departure, many of them have seemingly followed her example and vanished. They are but a minor vein within the Empire's blood. His own eyes turn to Anya and Darren for but a moment of time before turning his gaze back to Koronov. A smile crosses his face upon speaking further.I can assure you, Senator. I intend to keep them as a minor presence. With what space they have given me, I have filled with fellow Imperials and Knights of the order that protected me and the Fel Emperors before me. In my public speech to the Empire, I told the Imperial citizens my desire to make the Imperial Knights the face of the Empire. A face they can see and know is truly there. To be her defenders and enforcers. XEONON SOLOMON FORMER HEAD OF THE IMPERIAL KNIGHTS, AND PRESIDENT OF SOLOMON MINESThe name would no doubt grab attention from the Imperials present. It didn't take long to find the person he sought after. Once Nicademus could tell that Xeonon was alone and no one was speaking with him, the Imperial made his move. He calmly approached Xeonon and looked at him square in the face.Last I checked, people don't simply come back from the dead, Xeonon. Bound and still with security, Cass waits for this all to work itself out. Still observing and taking in all of the information he can. Any young lady that catches his gaze receives a dose of charm.
Cass is slightly taken aback by the number and the ranks of the people that came to his defense. This was why he had chosen to come here. Good people with power, these were the people he could work for, to benefit them both. The Jedi did concern him, a little. He trusted they respected justice, and he had done nothing wrong, but still if this was a Jedi with something to prove or someone to impress this could be just the beginning.
The Senator/ Princess from Alderaan was truly stunning, and seeing her up close in that gown was a sight to behold. He couldn't help but give her a wink.

Orik was becoming tired of the war of words going on all around him. He felt like taking the tizowyrm out of his ear so he did not have to listen to such drivel. He was a Yuuzhan Vong, though, and he had a mission to complete. He decided to stick with the alien who showed an interest in him. He could feel that major powers in the galaxy were represented here, and Orik did not want to alarm them before the new Yuuzhan Vong were ready for war.
He turned to the alien, Ar'lah, and spoke quite loudly. Hopefully whoever was important enough to take him up on his proposition would hear, for Orik's patience was now very strained. "The Yuuzhan Vong wish to pledge our living servants in the restoration of Ryloth. I need to know who to speak to."

Standash rolled her eyes at the man's attempt to flirt. He was handsome enough, and she was smart enough to realize that he had to be very smart to have made it this far. One overzealous security chief was his only downfall, and that could hardly be considered a flaw in his plan. She gave him a smile she had practiced for years, one that could make most men a little week at the knees but made her still see out of reach. Normally this would make a man want her more. She then walked up to the Yuuzhan Vong, this was a race she had never met nor expected too. Not this early in her career at least. She had studied up on them some, but not as much as most races. I cant direct your inquiry, but I would be remiss if I didn't introduce myself. Standash Thul, Princess of Alderaan. It is nice to meet you. I won't lie i didn't expect to see your kind here, but i am very happy you could make it. I know i shouldn't be, but I am a little disappointed you didn't cleanse him. I have never seen one of your people in combat before. I am told there is nothing like it.

"Princess..." Orik repeated, as if tasting the word. The tizowyrm translated it as hereditary power, though he was not sure if this was entirely the case. Orik kept his comments to himself, as his race believed in power through skill, and not into which family you were born. The Yuuzhan Vong of his ilk were less relaxed in the caste system than the members of his race who originally invaded, though the roles still existed.
"Standash Thul, I am Orik Kanor of the Yuuzhan Vong. I command the servant Crusader, currently waiting not far from here. I have been commanded by my superior to offer our biological expertise in the restoration of Ryloth."
Orik only accepted praise from his superiors, and would normally punish a subordinate harshly for such language. Being a Yuuzhan Vong warrior inherently made him superior to most beings here, save perhaps the jeedai, and therefore he only deserved praise from them. He shook his head at the infidels' ignorance, but remembered his mission. He was not to cause trouble, and allow the Yuuzhan Vong to mingle with other major powers in the galaxy as his master race readied itself for war.
"There is no better honour than fighting and dying against warrior from my caste. The Gods have granted us the best protocols and servants to give us unparalleled skill and prowess. We also excel at other things, too."
That was twice the tizowyrm had translated 'ship' and 'technology' as 'servant', because to the Yuuzhan Vong that was what their living tools were. Servants.

=Jordan Halcyon=The young Jedi Knight was surprised that the Vor had been able to detect the lightsaber crystal and the deceit that had been used to conceal it so carefully. The vor ignored the mans claim this being "his" party. Misinformation or miss use of grammar. The lightsaber floated out of his hand and he was promised the man would be gone. But, the Gargoyle of Vortex was stone. Sel looked into his memmory of the guest list, and found the mans name, or one that would fit very well."Jedi Knight Lacyon, you are more then welcome to help 500 republica security, maybe even to help them fix the hole in their security this man has abused. None the less, gone shall he be. I dont care how many people vouch for an intruder with a dangerous weapon." And it was true. What would be a larger disgrace then getting told off by some youngster from "Whereverwille" would be if someone actually got hurt from an assasination attempt. Sels reputation would need a coffin. The man was unchecked, uninvited (whatever people now may claim) and wearing a dangerous weapon. Scimitars and helbards, holdout blasters and hidden blades he can handle. A forceuser with a lightsaber? Can ALSO handle, but the person may do a lot more damadge before he is subdued. And his job is to stop the damadge from ever happening. The Twilek woman only annoyed him with her tiny little verbal stabs. He made her feel that the "men" were "on it" by fully forgetting her existence. It was a simple choice. Either join her in an argument in an unfriendly environment (Sel wasnt much liked) or simply wait till she finds an other hobby, like helping her people.

Inclining his head he smiled at the newcomerMaster Jedi That famous Corellian smile got just a bit more crooked as Kel smiled. "Mister Solomon." He replied, extending his right hand as he introduced himself. "I don't believe I've had the pleasure. Kel'Al Raganella." As he approached, it had been impossible to ignore the precious stones and other adornments built into the man's orange Imperial Knight armor. The significance of the color orange was lost on the Jedi, but the jewelry was a curious addition. He had not seen such a thing previously, but it was an interesting and impressive way to flaunt one's wealth without foregoing armor. And Xeonon's introduction as president of Solomon Mines by the herald probably explained both the source of his wealth, and his motivations to show it off. Mining could be a very enriching business -- especially if you were willing to cut corners on labor."Thank you for coming." He continued, unsure how else to begin a conversation with one he knew so little about. "I am sure the Twi'leks and the Republic appreciate your support."
