*An Tiarna turned his head to the voice. In the tongue. & more than that it was delivered in a familiar tone. Instinctively he spoke* "Dia is muaire dhuit a Cormac...." Looking around stroking beard he continued* " Well funny really. " *Barking a laugh in spite of himself* "Decided I'd drop by home." * Giaint right hand sweeping over chiseled face & over hair* "& walked right into a war, so it seems." *Brows dropping* "Been watching the show. Rather entertaining, don't you think now?"

<Manaan... home? Or just a familiar place... can't tell anymore... too many outsiders... foreigners...>

*An Tiarna sat, burning cigarette hanging from lips & a full bottle in hand. He could feel Mortus. The words fell on him & he yelped with laughter* -An Tiarna- "Right you are a chara!" Pondering he took a deep drag removing the cigarette with a massive left & chasing it with a hard long shot then bellowing* "I'm stumped as to whether send the lot of them reeling or merely pull up stakes & split. " Leaving the words hang like a question he continued to set his eyes on the sea. The construction truly baffled him. Indeed, having erected not only everything on the beach but also the beach itself he knew that just laying something out was impossible; if placed wrongly any edifice of substantial size risked threatening the integrity on Ahto city. That thought ppast by & abruptly he said* -An Tiarna- "I truly wish that people with big mouths would have the intestine to speak directly to my face....."

*Tossing butt aside then lighting another the Old man set the bottle down, snatching a grenade from left side in right hand & began tossing it *right - left, right - left, right - left* Abruptly the Old man sniped* -An Tiarna- "Always wondered why so many struggle with the difference between cheap plagiarism & original thought." *Shrugging the Old man lit a cigarette, tossed back a belt of whiskey then began tossing the grenade again*

*Sitting stoically the Old man burst out suddenly* -An Tiarna- "So... the mother in law was by for dinner..... The woman says 'Why is your dog staring at me?'& I says, ''You're using his plate.'" What happened next was swift. The Ancient warrior accidentally discharged the grenade in hand. The cumulative effect of the assortment of equipment he decorated his body with exploding set off a light show tht rivaled TheMacy's Day light show & left little more than a pile of synthetic ash*

Cormac rose from kneeling before his father and king, and merely watched with sadness as the once mighty warrior king spoke so, defeated. He felt through the force the activation of the grenade and with instinctual thought reached out with the force and snatched the grenade, throwing it into the air and casting a shield about to protect them from shrapnel. "Have you lost your fuckin' mind da? Pull yourself together. You are An Tiarna Dubh! An unshakeable barrier in battle. This wallowing does not befit either my father or the King of the Gaels. Secure your self pity and be the man you are, and if you cannot do that, then at the very least have a care for those of your subjects and family that have not surrendered their pride!"

*The faded image of The Old man appeared looking at this his son. He spoke, but not directly to Conor's hyperbolic ranting. The Old man spoke to physics* "Conor. You look like hell in that getup. & now you show. How convient..... Thanks. Oh. What that woman is doing will bring down the whole place; any with but a wee look back in history will know that. To start the beach is man made. Villa to be exact. Near drove the poor soul to a nervous breakdown building it. More importantly, the structural integrity of the entire edifice rests on the placement of the building; logically that thing is gonna break off & sink.... *A giant hand waved* "Have a nice swim & see you soon." *The Face began to fade but left Connor with this* "& where awere you raised; do you plan to nothing with that body?" * The face faded away leaving a final plea for justice*

The cleanup medical crew arrived with advanced towards the scene. A group of dignitaries stood back watching. One pediatrician spoke to Magnuts: "I hope that you're done chastising the corpse sir; we must use speed. Thank you for your patience." The man joined the other paras already well into scrapping himself's bodily remains and personal effects scattered in the area. At long last An Tiarna was bagged and the splattered hideous mess of the tyrant, along with any of Bigfoot's belongings were whisked away in an ambulance speeder. The siren bowl grew dimmer and dimmer until it was gone. Two fish people cleaning dudes washed away any remaining remains. There ended a long dark chapter in the history of Mamaan

There seemed to be some commotion happening outside the Mortus. The group of four Howlers observed the Selkath and other bystanders as they neared the bar, covertly running identity scans through the HUD in their helmets. Data showed up for most of the individuals they scanned, but nothing of note. However that changed as they walked into the bar.
As the four individuals entered the bar, the data flags started firing off faster than they could keep track of. Almost every person in the bar was showing up as being flagged for either being wanted for some crime or considered extremely dangerous. If Mos Eisley was a wretched hive of scum and villainy, this place was far worse. Howler Four spoke to the others over a private group comm channel inside their helmets.
What in the name of Chaos did we just walk into?
Externally, the group remained calm. Howler Three moved directly to the bar and began speaking in low tones with the bartender while Pup One followed her. Howler Four and Pup One moved in the other direction, finding an empty table near a corner and sitting down. Howler Four looked over to Pup Two as they spoke through their internal comms and looking about the room. Pup Two's body language seemed uneasy and anxious while Howler Four was calm and relaxed.
Relax. They don't know who we are and they don't know we know who they are. For all they know we're just here for some drinks.
If something goes wrong we won't make it to the door.
Have some faith. We've been trained by one of the best. If he didn't think we could handle it he wouldn't have sent us. We're here to observe and report, nothing else.
Pup Two just nodded, seemingly relaxing in his chair. Meanwhile, at the bar, Howler Three was speaking quietly to the bartender.
I'm looking for someone. Maybe you know them?
She showed the bartender a picture on the datapad. The bartender took one look and immediately shook his head.
Sorry, can't help you.
Howler Three tucked the datapad away and kept her gaze on the bartender. From the intel she had before the mission, she knew there was a keyphrase that would make their job easier.
Is Sheila in? Maybe she knows them.
The bartender's eyes widened for just a split second before returning to normal as he heard mention of a name. He looked over to the table where the other Howlers were sitting and nodded before walking into the back room. As they waited, Howler Three and Pup Two went to sit with the other Howlers at the table. They didn't say anything to each other as they waited, they just continued to subtly scan the crowd until the bartender came back.

Lamia stood to go get another bottle. She heard the name Sheila and shuddered. "Sheila hasn't been here in an age. Probably as long as the IF has been quiet, if I'm honest." She signaled the bartender to grab another bottle. He nodded at her and handed her one from her private stash.
"I would suspect she's off running free now, maybe terrorizing another planet, as far as I can tell. I assume this isn't a new stop for you? You were IF or at least familiar with them?"
Lamia looked at the bartender. "Put their drinks on the VSE tab, my friend."

Before they could join the other Howlers, a Togruta woman approached the bar and began speaking to them. She spoke of Sheila, which Howler Three wouldn't know anything about other than the fact that the name was given to her to open certain doors in this establishment that may otherwise remain closed.
Right.
She tilted her head slightly as she scanned the woman. A quick query gave Howler Three a dump of information that she read through in a second. Something there raised a flag, but she didn't make any movements that would indicate something was wrong. She pulled out her datapad and nonchalantly typed a message as the woman continued to speak to her and offer to pay for her drinks.
Across the bar Howler Four and Pup Two continued to scan the patrons for information, seemingly unaware of the interaction Howler Three was having with the Togruta woman. They continued to communicate privately through their closed comms as Howler Four's right hand fell to his lap and slowly moved towards the firearm at his side should he need it. Pup Two had his back turned to the bar while he scanned the crowd.
Eyes up, Pup. Possible tango has made contact with Howler Three. Keep your cool, Pup One has her covered. Make sure you're checking the crowd for threats.
Seriously? Everyone in here is a threat.
You know the drill, prioritize and call them out. Tell me what you see.
Even though Pup Two was well-trained, Howler Four knew he was still somewhat inexperienced in the field. He'd have the young man's back if it came to it, but right now was a good opportunity to keep him in check and help him adjust to the situation.
Back at the bar, Howler Three sent her message to the Dread Wolf in orbit before looking back at the Togruta woman.
What exactly do you know about the IF?

Lamia pulled a spice stick out of her pocket and lit it, inhaling deeply. She held it for a few minutes and then let the smoke drift out of her mouth as she raised her eyebrow at the man speaking to her.
'What do I know about the IF... well that's a loaded question. I know heaps about the IF. I was part of the IF ages ago." Lamia moved her arm to show him the faded brand that still existed on her bicep. "But to be fair, I've not been around in just as long.... ATD and I.... well we went our separate ways. Now I'm VE and haven't really thought much about the IF days." Lamia took a drink and shifted her weight to lean on the bar. "Why do you ask? There's not been IF around here since we've shown up. I can't imagine any of them are around any longer."

Howler Three looked at the Togruta woman impassively as she explained about the IF. She was sure to record the video stream from her helmet so that the information was documented. As she heard the mention of ATD, her body language shifted slightly and she took a quick glance around the room. She was familiar with the man (at least in stories told by her master), and many in the galaxy knew his reputation. As the Togruta mentioned that they went their separate ways, Howler Three's shoulders relaxed ever-so-slightly.
Just curious. I've heard stories and knew they used to hang out here. I wonder how many are left in the galaxy.
Howler Three did her best to play it off as curiosity - perhaps someone who had become a fan after hearing of the exploits of the IF long ago. Currently, nobody knew who she was or who she worked for so her anonymity would remain intact.
Do you know of any others who are still around? I've heard ATD still swings by from time to time.
Across the bar, Howler Four and Pup Two continued to sit and pretend to drink. Howler Four an eye on his wife and the conversation she was having while Pup Two spoke through the potential threats he saw. It seemed to calm the man to fall back on his training and he relaxed in his seat slightly. Pup Two was still alert but now certainly less jumpy.
As they sat there, the entire team got a message that they would have some company soon. Apparently, their short visit here had already dug up enough to bring Howler Prime planetside. He and Howleer One were on their way there now.
Kriff. This is going to get interesting.

Lamia took a drag and studied them. They seemed to be very interested in the IF. It wasn't one of Lamia's favorite subjects.
"I don't have any idea. I have long past been privy to that information, nor am I interested. If ATD swings by, I can assure you, I'm probably the last person he'd want to know. I've not heard of hide nor hair of that man in many many years. Is there a specific reason you are so curious about them and him? Is he on the lam or something?"

The door to the bar opened again as two more people walked into the establishment. The man was older with a shaved head, full beard, and nondescript faded robes while the woman was younger and dressed in the same armor as the so-called Howlers that had come into the bar. The man stopped and closed his eyes for a moment, taking in the sounds and smells of the establishment he had frequented so many lifetimes ago. Somehow it felt the same as it had back then, and yet something was... different. He couldn't put his finger on it yet, but he would keep that thought in the back of his mind.
He opened his eyes to see the events in front of him. Two of his Howlers were sitting at a table across the bar keeping an eye on things while the other two were speaking to the Togruta woman at the bar. Howler Three had relayed all of the information of their conversation while it was happening, so the man was aware of everything that was said. He walked up to the bar beside them before interjecting on the conversation.Lamia took a drag and studied them. They seemed to be very interested in the IF. It wasn't one of Lamia's favorite subjects. "I don't have any idea. I have long past been privy to that information, nor am I interested. Is there a specific reason you are so curious about them and him? Is he on the lam or something?" She's not the curious one... I am. He nodded to Howler Three as she and Pup One walked away from the bar to join their companions at their table. Howler One continued to shadow the man and stood close by. The man looked at the Togruta woman's eyes, almost as if he was trying to size her up. In reality, the information he had already gotten from Howler Three told him everything he needed to know about her. What he was curious about was whether or not she recognized him. He turned away for a second and reached behind the bar to grab the traditional EPBOW and two glasses while the bartender just watched and said nothing. He put the glasses on the bar and turned back to the Togruta woman and held the bottle out as if to pour it.Apologies for interrupting. Drink?

Lamia tilted her head to the right just slightly and put out her spice stick. She didn't think he recognized the man, but she'd met so many people over the years, and her memory vague in spot, it wasn't beyond the realm of possibilities that she had met him before. She motioned for him to take the stool next to her at the bar.
"I never say no to a drink. I'm Lamia Bes'tial, leader of the Vegemite Enclave. Who has the pleasure of my company today?"

As he poured the whiskey into the two glasses he had grabbed, he searched the deep recesses of his brain for any memories of her. He knew that she was former IF but didn't remember having any interactions with her during his time there. The IF was a large empire and it seemed likely that they could have gone for so long without crossing paths.
Lord Maximus au Barca, formerly of Dark Tide and the IF. Currently... self-employed.
There was something else that stood out in his mind. It was the other name she said... Bes'tial. He had known a man with the same last name from when he had been in Dark Tide. The man named Bes'tial hadn't been in Dark Tide but Maximus had heard of and may have met the man in his dealings with other organizations. However that didn't seem as relevant right now as her history with the IF. He was still here for a reason and needed information.
He handed one of the glasses to Lamia and downed his own quickly. The familiar burning sensation of many years ago graced his throat as he set the glass down and poured another.
I'm sorry, I don't remember you from the IF. My mind isn't what it used to be lifetimes ago. Although it's probably fair to say I was too low on the food chain to have been graced by the presence of someone as striking as you.

*The Old man's time had engendered good relations with the natives. The politics that slipped past the grasp of others. So The Selkath elders did not resist. Overtly anyway. What was did was orchestrate passive resistance. Quietly making every move difficult. Simple, monotonous, passive acts. Cumulatively they were backbreaking. And they collected data. Pictures. Audio recordings. Everything, right down to pubic hairs off toilet bowl seats*

Lamia raised her glass to him. "Slainte." She took a drink and continued on. "It's not a big deal, honestly. My time there was short. I ended up taking my son and I off planet to be with his father when we could. I haven't been around the IF in many many years. But... we thought we would try our hand at some inventive farming and check out the Mortus again. It's one of two bars that feel like home, you know? What brings you back here to Manaan anyway?"

The Elders had ears everywhere. It was one of the ways they survived for so long. And they excelled at reconnoitering. Ga'wanar and Shak Los had drawn the short end of the deal tonight. They entered The Morgue quietly had watching and recording what transpired. Many an interesting face lift had been through here. Shak and Ga'wanar spoke rapidly between themselves as they slipped out of the joint. Shak looked nervously to Ga'wannar, and Ga'wannar nervously to her..... They whispered frantically for a long moment. Shak flipping open Comm., hitting SEND on the device in her hand. The wheels began to turn.....
