Larissa slipped out of her facade when her son was mentioned. She had not expected that. It had been years since she'd been able to see Vallius. He wasn't her little boy anymore. She stepped toward Viox unintentionally.
"You're bringing him home? He could die in the battle that follows. We all could."
She moved forward again and laid a hand on his chest.
"I won't lie, your father's reign needs to end. But is this how you want it to happen? You're putting us all at risk. If our son dies in this...."
Larissa trailed off. She had spent far too long without her son, but she could feel him out there. She knew he was in the galaxy somewhere, living his life. The thought of that spark winking out was too much to bare.

Viox eyed Larissa carefully, reading her body language as well as the way she spoke. Her political facade dropped quickly at the mention of Vallius. He could feel her concern and doubt about bringing him home. But that wasn't his plan, at least not yet.
In truth, Vallius probably wouldn't step foot on Rhommamool at all. He was far to valuable to be left exposed to the Overlord's machinations. And despite all of his training, he would find Xander's lure difficult to resist. Though, any dark sider around him found his very presence difficult to resist. The raw power that he emanated. The twisted, seething ebb of the dark side. It was the lure of power. A false lure of power though, as Xander would never give up anything that he has claimed as his own.
After a few moments of silence, Savage spoke again.
"No, I am not bringing him home. That would be a foolish move that would doom all of this to failure before we ever got started. No, for now he is to be located by his god father and protected. We cannot protect him here. He has a better chance of avoiding the Overlord's ever expanding grip by remaining mobile...and I understand I am putting us all at risk, but it is a risk I am willing to take. We cannot continue living this way. It was a mistake to allow my father to come to power. It was an even bigger mistake to roll over and join him..."
Savage trailed off, remembering the fateful turn of events two decades ago when his father had boldly struck out against the Triumvirate. It wasn't the most pleasant memory he had of those times, but it certainly was a painful one. If he had of known then what he knew now, he would have defied his father right to the very end, regardless of the consequences his defiance had. He looked back at Larissa and spoke again.
"You need to trust me. You've always trusted me in the past. Though lately I have not given you much reason to do so, you simply need to. I am doing all I can to ensure this will pull off without a hitch. And for now, we need to keep this quiet. Any hiccup now and the entire plan will fall apart and we will be exposed as the traitors we are eventually going to become. I'd rather not have our hand tipped too soon..."
He knew Larissa was looking forward to seeing Vallius again. And, if everything worked out, she would be seeing a lot of him in the future. In order to cover all of his bases, once Venom and Vallius were located, he was sending Larissa to accompany them in their eventual quest to build up a resistance against the Empire. Larissa would be invaluable to them. Her political experiences would be their greatest asset. But first Vallius needed to be found. And in order for that to happen, Venom Starkiller needed to be located. All in due time. Events were beginning to be put in motion. Events that would ultimately shape the entire galaxy as they came to pass...

Larissa eyed Viox critically. He was right, they couldn't continue living like this, but she didn't know what he was planning.
"I am hoping that you have a plan. Don't tell me about it now. I need to be in Council in a few minutes. Just know, that I will do everything in my power to see my son again and keep him safe."
She stepped around Viox and paused at the turbo life doors.
"I will be back in a couple hours. If you have enough of a plan figured out by then, let me know. I am going to trust you. Tell me what i need to know. Don't tell me everything, so I can't give anything away of your father suspects. I doubt he will suspect anything from me. I have recently become his favourite. I'll be back later."
With that she called the turbo lift and stepped into it's quiet confines. As the lift moved down the tower she thought about what had just happened. Viox wanted to end his father's reign, and needed her help to do it. They were in for a long, difficult campaign.

Viox watched Larissa go. She was still distant with him. However it was to be expected. He had been very distant with her, ever more so in the last few months. Not for lack of loving her. He always would love her. But due to his own inability to figure out how to topple his father's empire. He was ashamed it took him so long to figure it out. But putting his own self pitying aside, he knew what needed to be done. And he intended to follow through with it, even if it meant he lost everything in the process. Live a slave or die a free man. Those were his options. He stood there, thinking on what Larissa had said. Unfortunately she was going to be more involved than she realized. But one step at a time. Everything would fall into place in due time. Hopefully. He walked over to the lift and summoned it back up to his level. He needed more time to think and process what he was doing. Everything needed to be precise and calculated. He could no longer be the animal that he was when it came to combat. He needed to change how he did things in order for this to have any chance of success. And he needed it to succeed. Desperately...

Rhommamool. Imperial Senate Hall. Imperial City of Exodus. (Formerly the Grand City of Tyr.)
Xander stood on the raised platform in the middle of the senate chamber, garbed in a lavish robe of black and red velvet. Before him in the many seats surrounding the central platform, sat the delegates of the Empire. Members of the Imperial military and all of its branches were joined with the representatives from each planet under Imperial rule. Having taken the former New Order of the Eye colonies within the Expansion Region, it bolstered the ranks of the fledgling Empire back in its infancy. Now, the ISHS spanned much of the known galaxy, pushing the New Republic Alliance was in decline. And at the center of it all sat Rhommamool. For nearly two decades, Rhommamool was the central authority of the Empire. But now, with the resources gathered from many conquered worlds under his sway, it was time to move the Empire's seat of power to a much more fitting location. Xander addressed the Senate, his powerful voice booming loudly for all to hear.
"My loyal delegates! For two decades we have risen from the ashes of a broken and flawed society to become the dominant form of authority in the galaxy! We have built ourselves up, taking the weaken and broken remains of other lesser factions and brought them under our banner! We have purged many Jedi and Sith strongholds! And we have managed to push the stagnating New Republic Alliance to its knees. Trade had prospered and flourished. We have prospered and flourished! And in such times of success, I feel the need to bring even greater news to your attention. I have a plan. A plan that will be enacted from this point forward. After long deliberations with several key members of the Senate and the Imperial Military, I have decided to move the heart of this flourishing Empire to a new home! Dromund Kaas! From there we will fortify the world and reinforce our resolve that we ARE the dominant force in this galaxy! The heart of our empire beats proud and strong, but it will beat even stronger! Rhommamool will remain as our central figurehead to deter our foes. Imperial Councillor Novax will remain here to oversee and enforce the will of the Empire. With our relocation to Dromund Kaas and the reclamation of our birthright as Sith, we WILL rule this galaxy! Chaos will be dissolved and order will return! Reclaiming the birthplace of the ancient Sith Empire will allow us to reshape the galaxy to its very foundations! With this move, our power and influence in the galaxy will finally be consolidated! Long have we sought to restore order within the galaxy and soon we will!"
Xander spoke with conviction and fervor. As he finished speaking, the senate chambers were engulfed in an uproar of cheering and applause. This was the beginning of a new era for the Empire. Waging a war to bring the galaxy under control was one thing. Reigning it in afterwards was an entirely different matter. And with the war against the New Republic Alliance nearing it's end, the time to assert dominance and show the galaxy who was truly in charge was at hand. He had built this Empire from the ashes of nothing. And now it was time to expand it even further.

Larissa smiled politely as her father-in-law spoke, as she knew she must. But, when he spoke of moving the Empire to Dromund Kaas and leaving her here to "oversee and enforce the will of the Empire," was the break that Viox might need. She would be in command of the planet. She would have unrestricted access to everything. She would be an integral part of every meeting from now until the end. Every battle statistic, recruitment log, and deployment patterns and schedules would be hers. She would be handed all the military information that Viox would need to weaken the Empire before making a strike. Every chink in the armour would feed their resolve. She stood and addressed the room, as was her duty.
"On behalf of the Council, my Lord, I would like to express to you our delight and whole-hearted support of you plan to move the headquarters of the Empire to Dromund Kaas. As always, we are humbled by your far-reaching forethought. I would like to personally thank-you for the opportunity to stay here and continue operations as our true home is reclaimed. I am honoured by your generosity."
Larissa finished speaking, sunk into a low curtsy for her father-in-law, and sat again to polite applause. It was her right to address Xander for the Council as a whole, especially now. As always, her words were well chosen and rang of a sincerity she never felt. She was eager to find Viox and tell him the news. Hopefully he would se it as a good thing.

Xander watched his daughter-in-law carefully, as she addressed the Senate. His milky white pupils danced over her, taking in her every feature. Body language, posture, eye movement and her speech. Not the speech itself, but the way it was delivered. The corners of his mouth twitched upwards, forming a small smirk. She had become quite the professional at this. Having virtually no experience in this particular field, Xander had groomed her since essentially the fall of the old Triumvirate, sending her to all of the extravagantly lavish schools across the universe. And his effort had paid off. Larissa had blossomed from a timid creature to a fiery, yet excruciatingly precise member of the Imperial Senate. Should he have willed it, she could make an impressive Empress. However, she was not in line for the throne of his Empire. His son, Viox was. He was the sole heir to the Empire. And with someone like Larissa at his side, the Empire would become unstoppable. Xander stepped forward once again, hushing the members as he waved his hands.
"Councilor Novax, your unwavering support in these prosperous times is what allows for such developments."
Xander paused for a moment and allowed the senate a minute to absorb the information a bit more. He then cleared his throat again and spoke.
"Along with this movement comes room for several promotions that I would like to make official now. Governor Coopers of Contruum will now become the Moff of Rhommamool. And in so he will become Councilor Novax's advisor. To fill Moff Coopers' vacancy, Superintendent Hubert Coswald will now become the Governor of Contruum. Once the move to Dromund Kaas is complete, the senate will convene again to delegate the appointment of several more officials. Until then this session will stand adjourned..."
Xander stepped down and seated himself beside his other personal advisors. The central platform then began to descend towards the floor. The floor itself would then part, allowing for the Overlord's platform to pass through it and disappear from view.

Intermission.
The Empire was gearing up to move it's ever beating heart to the homeworld of the original Sith Empire several millenia ago. The prodigal son was plotting to over throw the Overlord. And Imperial Forces were pursuing a rag-tag smuggling crew in a vain hope that they could track one Venom Starkiller. And despite everything that was going on, the Imperial Sovereign House of Savage was waging its final battles with the New Republic Alliance. War had dominated the galaxy for the last seven years, with the Empire proving to be better organized and more determined than the New Republic was. The leaders of the NRA were planning on signing an armistice between the rising Empire and the failing Republic. Though there were those out there that still refused Imperial rule, many had accepted it, giving more strength, numbers and resources to the Empire. But even with the signing of the Armistice looming on the horizon, one poorly timed decision would escalate a small conflict and threaten to bring a renewed war against the Empire...

Serenity. Trian, High Orbit.
The Wayfarer-Class Medium Transport, Serenity exited hyperspace above the forest world of Trian. Captain Nathan Reynolds stood on the bridge behind his pilot.
"We been followed?"
The pilot, Wash, flipped several toggles and glanced at the display screens.
"That's a neg on the being followed..."
No sooner had those words left Wash's mouth, the proximity alarms began to blare loudly. Nathan scowled at Wash.
"You were sayin'?"
Wash swore under his breath and gripped the controls tightly as the ship accelerated towards the planet. He quickly glanced up at the sensor display.
"Crap. We've got six TIE Interceptors coming in hot, weapons ready."
A confused look crossed Nathan's face.
"They followed us? All the way from Raxus? How?"
As Wash deftly piloted the ship, he replied to his Captain.
"Musta outfitted them with hyperdrives. Seen it before. Interceptors can be outfitted with hyperdrives to pursue enemy craft, then signal their Star Destroyer. Once they locked on to our coordinates, all they had to do was follow us until we exited hyperspace..."
Nathan frowned at Wash's response.
"So the Empire's learnin'. That makes me all kinds of uncomfortable..."
Nathan trailed off and keyed the ship's intercom.
"All hands prepare for combat. Venom, Zoe, get to the guns and power them up. Once they are in range, give 'em something to think about."
Nathan then killed the intercom and gripped the co-pilot's console as the ship suddenly turned hard to the left. Things were about to get interesting...much more interesting the he generally liked...

As the six TIE Interceptors exited hyperspace in the Serenity's wake, they immediately jumped into action. Weapons and shields powered up and they began their pursuit. Once within range, they began to fire upon the transport. Though it appeared as though the crew of the small transport had other ideas. A barrage of fire was returned, knocking two Interceptors out of commission right away. The other four spread out their attack formation and pressed harder against the transport. Green lances of energy danced out towards the Wayfarer. As the Interceptors and the Wayfarer exchanged fire, the edged closer and closer towards the planet. Though the TIE pilots obviously still pretty green, as the Serenity managed to knock out two more Interceptors. As the transport skimmed the upper reaches of Trian's atmosphere, the remaining two Interceptors peeled off their attack run and began to fall back, as the Victory II-Class Star Destroyer exited hyperspace on the edge of the system. Regardless of the small victory against the Interceptor squad, soon the crew of the Serenity and ultimately Trian itself, would learn the price of defiance against the Empire...
Imperial Victory II-Class Star Destroyer: Mistress of the Night. Trian. High Orbit.
Fleet Admiral Scarlet Bennette stood on the bridge of her ship. She was fidgeting with the stylus for her hand held datapad. She was nervous about apprehending these smugglers. Even if they were the crew she was looking for, they had stolen Imperial property, they had also evaded being apprehended. That was two strikes against them...if they were to be caught by any other Imperial patrol, they would be shot on sight. It's not like she couldn't report back to High Command. If she didn't follow proper protocol and procedure, she would run the risk of drawing unwanted attention to herself. And right now that was the last thing she needed. As she was lost in thought, the Tac Officer spoke up.
"Ma'am! Our pursuit squad has reported back. They have suffered casualties and are currently returning to the ship. And the transport we seek has taken refuge on the planet below...order?"
Bennette sat up straighter and replied.
"Contact the King and Queen of Trian. Ask them if we are allowed to apprehend a crew of escaped criminals. Even though I don't want to follow protocol here, Trian has always thumbed its nose at the Empire. This is a delicate situation. We've got to play it through the proper channels...though just in case, I will make a call to High Command. See if we can't find some way to overrule the King and Queen if they opt not to help us."
As the crew got to work, Bennette rose from her command chair. As she turned on her heel and began walking towards the lift, she called out to the ship's XO.
"I'll make the call from my personal quarters. Lieutenant Dawson, you've got the bridge until I return."
The Lieutenant, who had been pouring over post action data reports, stood up straight, spun to face the Admiral and saluted her as she entered the lift. Scarlet then rode the lift down to her quarters. She had a call to make first before she officially contacted Fleet HIGHCOMM...

As the smuggling vessel Serenity escaped to the relative safety of Trian, Fleet Admiral Scarlet Bennette stood in her personal quarters before the blue-hued image of Lord Viox Savage. The image wavered, then solidified. Solar interference. She bowed her head respectfully.
"My lord, we have tracked the smuggling crew to Trian. They managed to destroy four Interceptors and escape to the planet. We are currently holding position in orbit, attempting to proceed through proper channels in order to continue the pursuit of our target. How do you suggest we proceed?"
There was a pause for a few moments, then the Zabrak Sith spoke softly.
Queen Fel and King Grendal have always stood against the Empire. They would make very valuable allies and may prove to be instrumental to aiding the revolution against the Empire...angering them to further forced Imperial occupation will make them resent the Empire even more...
The Sith paused for a moment, thinking. Although Bennette already knew what he was going to say before he said it.
Apprehend the target by any means necessary. Ignore the King and Queen's request. And disregard what High Command will say. I will take care of the bureaucracy. Occupy the planet until such time that this smuggling crew can be found. I will manipulate events on my end to make it seem like you were acting on the direct orders of the Overlord himself...that should be the final event to push the Trian people to open rebellion...
Bennette inwardly sighed, but bowed her head at the Sith's request.
"Understood, my lord. I will report back to you once I have the smuggling crew in Imperial custody."
The image of the Sith nodded in acknowledgment and then faded away. Bennette then moved over to the comm and signaled the bridge.
"Lieutenant Dawson. Move the ship in to low orbit and ready our forces. We are landing troops to secure our target. I will be along shortly."
Scarlet then killed the line, heard the announcement over the ship's intercom, smoothed out her uniform and left her quarters. The order had been given. Clearly there was much more at stake than simply finding Venom Starkiller. Much more. As the Fleet Admiral made her way to the bridge, the Mistress of the Night moved closer to the planet, dipping down into the upper reaches of the atmosphere. And then the fighters and drop ships began to flow from the hangar, destined for the planet's surface...

Trian. Royal Palace Landing Pads.
Serenity touched down on one of the pads outside of the royal palace. Nathan Reynolds was one of the first down the loading ramp as the rest of the crew prepared the cargo to be off loaded. Reynolds was greeted by one of the Palace Advisors, a robed figure. Nathan spoke quickly.
"We managed to secure the goods that our contact had sent us for. Also ran amok of some Imperials. We'll off load and be on our way as fast as we can."
The Advisor spoke, her voice whisper quiet.
"No need to rush, Captain Reynolds. There are greater forces at work here. Take your time and do what you came here to do. I will speak with the King and Queen. And do not worry about the Empire. I have a feeling their visit here will be short lived."
Nathan looked at her, seemingly dumbstruck. Apparently the Advisor noticed his mouth hanging open.
"That look is very unbecoming of you Captain. Like I said, do not worry about the Empire. After today, I think we've seen the last of the Empire around here..."
Nathan watched as the Advisor turned about and walked off. As she turned, Nate noticed the glint of a metal cylindrical device hanging at on her hip. He narrowed his eyes suspiciously, but said nothing. If this woman was packing a lightsaber, he certainly didn't want to piss her off. Force users were predictable, but at the same time they were unpredictable. So he merely watched her walk off. She called back, loudly as he watched, causing him to spin about and get to work unloading.
"I'm not who you think...until next time Captain."
Nathan heard her but merely addressed his crew as they came down the ramp with the cargo.
"Zoe, contact Vao and find out where we are going next. Venom...keep an eye on that woman there. Something about her that I don't like. Wash, get Serenity fueled up and restock any supplies that are low. Castle, come with me. We'll go talk to our contact here and see if there is any quick jobs we can get you to do. I have a feelin' we'll be leavin' in a hurry..."
Nate pulled on his gloves and double checked that his pistol was still secured in its holster before he and Castle made their way over to one of the small kiosks set up on the bridge spanning the canyon between the landing pads and the main palace.

As the Captain and Castle wandered off and Wash went to collect supplies and refuel the ship and Venom trailed the mysterious Advisor, Zoe contacted Jerrak Vao on Ord Mantell.
"Vao. Job's done. Got anywhere in particular you want us to be?"
The hologram image of the aged but muscular Twi'lek shimmered slightly. Vao spoke to Zoe.
Sorry darlin'. Got nothin' fer y'all right now. Though I do have some information. Word is the Empire is gearing up for something big. No lead on what it is, but you might wanna steer clear of 'em for a while...oh and I hear you were lookin' fer a medic. Word is there is a good one on Trian right now. Goes by the name of Rianon Kardama. She's a bit of a strange one, but damn good at what she does. Might wanna look fer her before you leave.
Zoe nodded.
"Sure thing Vao. Thanks for the info. We'll see if we can find her."
Zoe terminated the link as she heard screams and a loud rumbling outside the ship. Zoe grabbed her rifle and sprinted out of the ship. She saw people running towards the palace. Some of the citizens were froze to the spot, pointing skywards and gasping in shock. Zoe glanced skyward. The faint outline of a dagger shaped Star Destroyer could be seen. And coming right towards them was what appeared to be an invasion force. Fighters and drop ships were racing towards them. And the unmistakable roar of TIE engines could be heard, even at this distance. Torn between staying with the ship or running out to warn the Captain, Zoe decided that warning Nate was more important. She took off toward the bridge, hoping the commotion being made would prompt him to investigate. As she reached the bridge, the first of the TIE Fighters began firing upon the landing pads. Green bolts of energy rained down, melting the duracrete platform, ripping up the dirt and destroying the small shops and kiosks that lined the spaceport. As the TIE Fighters raced over head, Zoe glanced back to see three Lambda-Class shuttles landing, dispersing troopers. White plastoid armore Stormtroopers surged out of the shuttles and began firing indiscriminately into the crowd of people running towards the palace. Finding an overturned kiosk for cover, Zoe crouched down behind it. Checking the charge on her rifle, she popped up from behind cover and sighted in on the nearest trooper, and pulled the trigger. The shot was true, connecting with the trooper square in the chest. He dropped, but the sudden shot drew attention. Blaster fire peppered her position. Zoe ducked down and glanced around, just as several of the Palace Security Forces fought through the crowd and began taking up defensive positions, returning fire upon the advancing Stormtroopers. This situation had gone from bad to worse...she only hoped that they could push back to the ship and leave...otherwise they might be stuck here for a good while...

Trian. Royal Palace.
Queen Keeta Fel and King Ton Grendal were striding down the hall as the mobile holo projector followed them. They were in deep discussion with the robed figure.
"-...unprecedented reasons. While we may not see eye to eye with the Empire, we've never done anything to warrant an all out hostile invasion. Why is this happening? I demand answers!"
The hologram snapped back, revealing himself as Sith Lord Viox Savage, son of the Overlord to the Empire.
You are in no position to demand anything, Keeta. You would do well to remember who has prevented an all out invasion of your planet since the collapse of the Tyrian Triumvirate...
As Keeta was about to retort back, King Ton Grendal jumped in.
"We are grateful for your continued support of our civil war effort and your secret support at keeping the Empire at bay. But Keeta is right. We do deserve answers..."
The hologram of Viox let out a loud sigh.
Ton, you were a very valuable ally of the Triumvirate, and I respect that...The Overlord is planning something big. And a lot of executive decisions have been made without my knowledge. I was unaware of the Overlord's plan to invade Trian. Had I known, I may have been able to delay it, or at the very least warn you. There is nothing I can do right now...unless...
The Sith Lord trailed off. Annoyed, Keeta took the bait. Her fur bristling in annoyance and frustration.
"Unless what?"
Beneath his hood, Viox smirked slightly. This was all going according to plan.
As you are both aware, I do not support the Empire. But I cannot rebel against it. I am too closely watched. But I have recently been in contact with an old...friend of the late Lord-General Praxus. He has the means to support and liberate your planet..."
Without missing a beat, Ton asked the question Keeta had been thinking.
"I know that sound in your voice...this support of yours has a price. What is it? What is this going to cost us?"
There was a long silence. To the point where both Keeta and Ton stopped walking and looked closely at the hologram of the Sith Lord. Viox sighed.
Your allegiance. To the rebellion that is slowly building against the Empire. Anything you can spare to help the rebellion in its fight against the Empire...I wouldn't ask this of you if I wasn't certain of the support being given.
Keeta and Ton exchanged glances, both thinking hard on the matter. After a few moments of silence, Keeta nodded. Ton then spoke to Viox once more.
"Consider it done. You send this support to drive the Empire off and your rebellion will have Trian's full support against the Empire."
The hologram of the Sith nodded.
Then I shall speak to my contacts and have the support sent to you as quickly as possible. You may have to accept imperial control for a few days, however. I can't just send this support out right without raising questions. It is unfortunate, however I know that the Royal Palace can be a fortress. Withstand a siege for days. Dig in and hold the line. I will contact you again once the support it on it's way. Savage out.
And with that, the hologram of the Zabrak Sith dissipated, leaving the Cathar King and the Trianii Queen to collect their thoughts and make a decision on what to do until help arrived...

Trian. Main Thoroughfare. Royal Palace.
Venom, garbed in his typical smuggler's attire, followed the robed Royal Advisor that had spoken to Nathan. While no longer a Sith, Venom was still Force Sensitive. And he was picking up a familiarity from the robed figure ahead. But he couldn't figure out who it was. Not that it mattered. Seconds before the advisor disappeared into Palace, the roar of TIE engines overhead caused him to duck as green blobs of energy impacted all around him. When he looked for the darkly robed advisor, she was gone. Venom cursed under his breath, pulled his pistol out of his holster and headed back across the bridge to the landing pads. About half way across the bridge, Venom was shoved aside as several Palace Security Guards and a handful of Trianii Rangers bolted past him. Realizing that the situation was much more serious, Venom sprinted the rest of the way to the hastily erected barricade. He hunkered down and aided the Trianii Security Guards and Ranger in returning fire upon the Imperial Stormtroopers. This wasn't a good sign. First the Empire shows up during their job, now they are here, invading the planet. Something big was going on. And Venom had the sneaking suspicion that it somehow he and the crew of Serenity were involved. This was all too convenient in his mind. But first thing was first. Dealing with the Stormtroopers. As he was about to pop back up and fire, the TIE's made a return pass over the landing pads. Dirt, duracrete and other debris was flung into the air as the fighters rained fire down on them. Venom hollered to the Security Guards across from him.
"Help get these civilians inside and prepare to fall back! We are sitting banthas out in the open. Those TIE Fighters will rip us apart!"
Venom then sprang up from cover and fired several shots off at the slowly advancing troopers. At least the Palace was a highly defensible structure. They'd have a better chance holding the invading forces off from inside its walls. Provided they lived long enough to get inside. Each minute that slipped by, the risk of being overrun or gunned down by the TIE Fighters overhead grew exponentially...

Trian. Main Thoroughfare. Royal Palace.
Nathan heard it before he actually saw anything. The unmistakable roar of the Twin Ion Engines of the approaching fighters. Nathan shoved Castle to the ground and dropped himself. After the first pass, Nathan was back on his feet, pistol in hand. He helped Castle to his feet.
"Gorram Imperials! Castle, get inside. Help these people on your way in. I gotta find Zoe and Wash. See if we can't get Serenity off the ground. Go!"
Nathan then stepped out and surveyed the situation as the TIE's arched around. He then noticed the shuttles landing the Stormtroopers. The chances of them getting off the planet without a fight were looking slimmer and slimmer. Nathan fired off several pot shots and sprinted to cover as several shots rang back.
"Why can't it ever go smooth? Just once I'd like for things to go smooth..."
Nathan popped up again and scanned the scene before him. The finally spotted Zoe by an overturned kiosk. He made his way over to her, plopping down beside her.
"Status?"
Zoe sprang up, fired off several shots, then dropped down again.
"Three squads were dropped initially. Two more joined them. TIE's are rainin' hell down on us. No chance of us getting to the ship."
Nathan swore. And looked around at the scene unfolding behind them. Security Guards and Trianii Rangers had joined the fight. Over the noise and confusion, he heard Venom holler out orders. Nathan looked back to Zoe.
"Looks like Plan B is the way to go. Time to fall back and see if we can figure a different way out of this gorram mess. We need to regroup and get on the same page as the palace defenders. Otherwise we ain't goin' anywhere."
Zoe looked at him and nodded.
"On three?"
Nate nodded.
"On three. THREE!"
At that, both he and Zoe jumped up from the cover they were using and began to sprint back towards the Palace, dipping and ducking around the various overturned carts, kiosk and debris that served as temporary cover.

Rianon walked out of the storage room and into the infirmary. Something felt off as she moved toward the hallway. Before she reached the door, it flew open and people came streaming in. She started ushering people into beds and chairs as she did a cursory examination. Mostly cuts and scrapes. One broken arm.
"What is going on out there?"
She asked the mother of the boy with the broken arm as she wrapped it.
"Invasion force. Just dropped out of the sky. We ran, but Teekan tripped and a cart fell on his arm. A man helped me get the cart off him and I brought him here."
"It's good that you did. The KIng and Queen will call everyone from the city into the Palace for safety. You sit tight for now. I'll see about finding a room for you both later."
She moved off to other beds, dressing wounds and keeping people calm. She worked quickly, trying to get out of the room to find out what the situation was like. Rianon finally made it out of the infirmary. She walked down the hall and continued to guide people to the infirmary. As she neared the stairwell a man carrying a little girl came bounding down the stairs.

As the first of the TIE Fighters roared overhead and explosions ripped apart the surrounding area, Castle was shoved down by the Captain. As the ringing in his ears lessened and his head stopped spinning he heard Reynolds yelling at him to get to the Palace and help as many people as he could. And then the Captain was gone, in search of Zoe and Wash. Castle, wasting no time, took off to the Palace as guards came rushing out. An elderly woman tripped. He stopped and helped her to her feet. As he ran, aiding those that needed it, the TIE Fighters made another pass. Several kiosks and other various vendor stand exploded and disappeared in clouds of fire, he heard a little girl scream. Castle frantically searched. Beneath a smoldering stall, a little human girl was screaming in pain. Castle, without hesitation, cleared the debris and gently scooped the girl up. She was burned and bleeding. Holding her tightly, he ran to the Palace, following the other wounded civilians. And that's when he came bounding down the stairs, spotting a slender, dark haired female. She looked as though she was guiding the wounded to the Infirmary.
"Miss! Excuse me miss! I need help! Now!"
Struggling to keep himself together and slightly panicked, Castle ran towards the woman, hoping she could help as the little girl's life hung in the balance...

Rianon ran toward the man and the little girl. She quickly read over the girl's vitals. The reading was muddled by the man's panic.
"Come with me. I need to get her into a trauma bed."
Rianon spun on her heel and led the way down the hall past the infirmary. She led them into a small, brightly lit room. She motioned for the girl to be laid on the table. She moved to the cupboards, rifling throughout to find what she needed.
"She's burned pretty bad. You might want to wait outside. I'll get her stable then see to you. I bet you didn't realize that you hurt yourself saving her."
She ushered him out of the room and turned back to the girl. She was badly burned on her chest and legs, but her back was relatively unharmed. Rianon carefully examined the girl, took a deep breath and began healing. She concentrated on healing the smoke damaged lungs as she sedated the girl. Washing the wounds was going to be painful, and she didn't want the girl to be awake for it. After washing the wounds, the burns weren't as bad as she thought. Very dirty, though. The dirt was ground in, like the girl had tried to crawl out from under the burning stall. The poor girl. Rianon worked quickly, she knew that the man standing outside would need to be looked at soon. She was becoming very tired; Force Healing took a lot out of her, but she knew that the girl needed her strength more than she did right then. She finished wrapping the girl's wounds and opened the door for the young man.
"If you'll take a seat, I can take a look at your hand."

Castle shrugged the woman's concern away. He then glanced down at his hand. His left hand had a deep gash across the palm. It was mostly clotted by now, though every so often a few drops of blood would seep out. He clenched his left hand into a fist and clenched his teeth as the pain shot through him.
"We ain't got time for me. I've got to get back out there and help. The Empire is attacking. I need to help people reach the Palace..."
His hand burned, but he no longer cared. His minor injury was nothing compared to those suffering outside as the Imperials pressed down on the Palace.
