Xander watched his son carefully. There was something he wasn't telling him. Though he would find out in due time. Being shackled with this Colonel was going to slow him down a bit, however he would do his best to take advantage of it. As his son dismissed him, the Colonel motioned for him to get up. Obligingly, Xander rose from his seat. He then walked out with the Colonel following closely behind.
"After you, Colonel."
Xander motioned for the Shadowtrooper to take the lead. Locklear shoved past the large Zabrak and continued walking with a snort. As he passed, Xander managed to lift the collar controller from his belt. Xander then slipped the controller into his pocket. He grinned. He was no fool. And regardless of how powerful his son had become, he wasn't going to be treated like one of his son's lackey's. No, if Xander was going to do his son's bidding for now, he was going to do it his way. Xander fell into step behind the Colonel. They both entered the lift which took them to the ground floor. As the Colonel exited the lift, Xander followed, still playing along for now. The Colonel led him to the hangar where a speeder was waiting. Locklear mounted up, tapped the side of his helmet and punched in the controls. Xander climbed into the back seat. Locklear looked at him.
"What? Do you honestly think I'm going to sit beside some trigger happy idiot such as yourself? I'm more comfortable back here anyways."
Xander forced a very obvious fake smile as the Colonel stared as him for a few moments longer, then chuckled to himself. He then piloted the speeder out of the main hangar and into the streets of Malidris. Shortly thereafter, the unlikely duo was out of the city, heading out into the vast open, rocky terrain of Iridonia. As the speeder went, Xander discreetly signaled Warden, alerting him to his location. Xander then withdrew the collar controller from his pocket and deactivated the baradium charge. He then stood up and undid the clasp. He tossed the collar off of the speeder and began to laugh. This caused the Colonel to turn around. As he noticed Xander standing there, collar free, he was about to shout out in surprise as he reached for his lightsaber pike. Xander merely hoisted the Colonel up from the pilot's seat and held him there for a few moments.
"You have no idea who you just crossed, Colonel. I will spare you now, but you cross my path again or interfere with my plans in any way, I will ensure that your entrails decorate the Palace courtyard for all to see."
Xander grinned, baring his teeth at the Colonel who was struggling to breath.
"Until we meet again, Colonel."
And with that, Xander hurled Locklear from the speeder. He then slid into the pilot's seat and contacted Warden.
"Break orbit and head as far out of the system as you can. I will be along once I have seen to something."
Without waiting for a response, Xander accelerated towards the coordinates Locklear had put into the speeders navicomputer...

As these events transpired between Xander and Colonel Locklear, Viox was busy recruiting his brother...
Savage smiled at his brother.
"You will be given much more leniency. You haven't crossed me, nor have you attempted to interfere with my plans. Our father is a pawn in my agenda, nothing more. You still have...options. No one is beyond...redemption..."
Savage chuckled at his choice of words. He didn't truly hate his brother. How could he? They had fought side by side for years. An unparalleled team among the Jedi. Until the day someone decided young Viox needed to head down a different path. Despite his brother's best efforts, Viox succumbed to the dark side. And now here he was. Self proclaimed King of Iridonia and a High Admiral within the Imperial First Order. Out of the tragedy of his fall, he had risen to successful new heights. So why stop there. Why not aim higher. Shoot further. Push the boundaries. And that was exactly what he wanted to do. He eyed up his brother with a small feeling of amusement. This was going to be interesting.

Vlad merely continued to watch and study his brother as he spoke. It was interesting that he was so willing to work with Vlad instead of push him into slavery like he had done with Xander. Clearly Viox had the power to do so. So what was stopping him? And then those words left his brother's lips. Redemption. So Viox assumed that he needed to be redeemed. Typical. Arrogant. Vlad believed in the tenants of the Jedi Code. Nothing was ever going to change that. But he also saw how restricting the Code could be. Yet, despite his new found allies among the Knights of Ren, Vlad never once struck down a foe in anger. Nor did he indulge in extravagant displayed of power like his brethren did. No, Vlad remained cool, composed and in control of his emotions. He wasn't about to compromise himself just to accomplish a specific goal. Vlad smirked.
"Naturally you, of all people would think I need redemption...why is that, I wonder? Why do you think I need to be redeemed?"
Vlad watched his brother curiously. It was so interesting that his brother was trying this approach. And now he wanted to know why...aside from the obvious amusement Viox was getting out of this, what else could there be?

Savage watched his older brother. And then he asked the question. He was falling perfectly into place, just as he had predicted. Savage smiled once more.
"I do not think you need redemption...yet. It is not some sort of mystery. I am evil. I have done terrible things in my life. Suffered and bled alongside those who didn't deserve to die. So naturally my actions and intentions will continue to follow along those lines. Enslaving our father was proof that I care little for anyone aside from myself. And Xander lost any respect I had for him...you on the other hand...I still respect you. Make no mistake. This does not mean I care for you or what happens to you. It means that you have done enough right by me at one point in my life that you deserve a higher class of treatment from me in comparison to our father. Refuse my offer and you will force my hand. But I'd rather have you as a willing ally than a slave..."
Savage cast his gaze to the black pearl seated in the scepter. He allowed the angular cut edges and the opaque ominous nature of the crystal to distract him for a few moments.
In truth, his mind was wandering. He wasn't wrong when he said he didn't care about anyone other than himself. But he also wasn't ready or willing to admit that he still cared for Larissa, Vallius and Lysandra very deeply. Enough to do whatever it took to ensure a place of power within the galaxy. Iridonia was just the first step. Next would be claiming his father's meager scraps of the galaxy. Then he would move to claim Dromund Kaas. Once his power had become more consolidated than it currently was, he would begin moving against the First Order. Supreme Commander Nicademus Delvardus was a military genius. But that's as far as it went. He had no vision when it came to furthering the First Order's grasp. He only held the title of Supreme Commander because no one had the courage to challenge his authority. And that was true of Viox himself, at the moment. But soon he would be able to challenge Nicademus. And the result of that would either begin a civil war between the Supreme Commander's forces and those loyal to Viox. Or those beneath Nicademus would realize how better off they were with a Sith sitting at the top. Either way, something was going to change. Eventually. Until then, all Savage could do was enslave or enlist members to his cause.
Savage finally snapped back to the present as his brother replied to him...

Vlad looked at Viox quizzically.
"So by your logic, you are offering me redemption for something I might end up doing? Brother, I had no idea you cared so much for my well being...you may as well stop trying to bribe me. I will not sell out everything that I have ever stood for just to become your pawn. You'll either have to enslave me as you did our father, or kill me. Those are the only two options I see..."
Vlad wasn't trying to be dramatic, but he needed to reinforce the fact that he wasn't going to play along with his brother's mad schemes. At least not willingly. Though there was still something off about this entire conversation. Sure, Viox had threatened him shortly after his arrival here, but aside from that, he was only stating what could happen, not what would happen. It was curious. Enough so that it was keeping Vlad's interest much longer than he had anticipated it would.

Savage laughed at his brother as he finished speaking.
"Oh brother, you are naive. Everyone has a price...you just have to know how to find their price..."
Savage grinned sadistically as he motioned for two of his Honor Guards to enter the throne room, a young Zabrak woman between them. She struggled and fought to get free. But to no avail. Savage slid the scepter into it's slot on the Throne and rose to his feet, grinning gleefully from ear to ear.
"May I introduce, Emilia Elizabeth...Savage, your daughter..."
As the words slid off his lips, he turned to face his brother. His reaction to this newly uncovered information was going to be truly delicious...

Vlad's mouth hung open as he stared blankly at the Zabrak woman. His mind was racing with questions, yet not finding any answers.
It had to be a bluff. It's not possible. She can't be mine. Can she? How is something like this even possible? The last time I...
"Oh no..."he breathed, as the pieces finally clicked into place.
Nearly thirty plus years prior to this moment, Vlad had indeed been on Iridonia. Weeks before his father had begun executing his plan to create a galaxy spanning Empire, Vlad had come home to visit his mother's crypt and to help aid Count Kamy, the Kaminoian-Zabrak hybrid, who was the leader of Iridonia at the time. He had been experiencing several problems with mysterious deaths of powerful political figures. Vlad offered to help. Only through out the entire thing, a woman had been keeping two steps ahead of him. Cutting him off a every corner, managing to remain just far enough ahead to impede his forward progression. It was later revealed that she was also working the case for Count Kamy. She had been stubborn, flirtatious and very resourceful in keeping Vlad in the dark. Near the end of the investigation, the night of his father's invasion of Iridonia, they had hooked up. Come morning, Vlad had to flee due to the heat his surname was now drawing. Without getting a second chance to say good bye or to meet up again, Vlad disappeared...he hadn't heard from the woman since...clearly there had been more involved with the situation than he had expected. Though with no way to contact him, how was she supposed to let him know?
Still processing the entire situation, Vlad merely continued to stare at the woman. Viox took that opportunity to interject his thoughts...

Savage cackled incessantly as he watched his brother process the situation. Oh this was going to be so much fun. Now he had the bargaining chip. Vlad just needed to make an offer...
"My my brother. How you have been busy...not only did you sleep with another woman, you managed to conceive a child! Highly frowned upon by the Jedi..."
Savage's sadistically gleeful expression shifted to a very serious one rather quickly.
"Now, where were we? Ah yes...you had mentioned not being for sale? Given what I currently have in my possession, surely you'd like to reconsider...?"
Savage's fierce yellow eyes dances between the woman and his brother, who was still trying to process the entire situation. He knew his brother was a strategical thinker. He would think through the entire situation, weighing the pros and cons. But he wasn't planning on giving his brother any room to do that. If he gave Vlad the opportunity to do that, this was all over. No, he had to force his brother's hand...drastically if needed...

Vlad continued to stare, still processing. Normally, he was quite quick on processing information but at that very moment, he was still struggling. His brother's cackling was annoying, but it wasn't bothering him. Even his comment on how 'un-Jedi like' it was to have conceived a child went unregistered. It was only until Viox regained his composure and began insinuating that Vlad's morality was for sale did he actually register any thing. Vlad rose from his seat. A twinge of anger began to course through him.
"You wouldn't. That's low, even for you..."
He was struggling to maintain his calm and cool composure. But Viox was treading on a very dangerous line. If this girl was in fact his, then Viox was borderline threatening his niece, Vlad's very own daughter. And that was something that was unacceptable. But he hadn't crossed that line...at least not yet...

Savage watched his brother rise from the chair. He tensed up, preparing for what was about to happen once he crossed that line. And Savage knew he would cross that line soon enough. Respect was something that was always valued between them, regardless of alignment. But now Savage was standing on that line, threatening to step across. And that put his older brother on edge. Savage simply smiled.
"Wouldn't I? Clearly you underestimate me, brother. I said earlier that I respected you, due to what you have done for me. My respect then ends once you parade around the galaxy, diddling strangers and popping out genetic combinations of you and said strangers. It's contradictory to what you stand for brother..."
He paced around the Honor Guards and the young woman, allowing his words to sink in. Once he had come back around, he stood up straight and clasped his hands behind his back. He eyed up his brother carefully.
"The time for niceties is over. Either submit, or bear witness to what the Force can truly do to an innocent prisoner..."
He gritted his teeth and brought his right hand back around in front of him. Curling his fingers, electricity crackled and arced between his fingers. The right corner of his mouth twitched upwards. He really wanted his brother to push the boundaries. He wanted to see the physical pain on his face and in his eyes once he began to hurt the young woman....he could practically taste the fear beginning to creep onto his face and in his thoughts...

Vlad watched and listened, horrified that his younger brother would actually willingly torture an innocent woman just to manipulate him into doing his bidding. Anger and frustration began to cloud his head. He clenched his hands, glaring at his brother. He hated him so much right now. Normally he was above such things, but right now, Viox was being impossibly stubborn and reckless. Needlessly so. And it was beginning to infuriate him. Inhaling slowly, Vlad tried one last time to calm himself down. As he exhaled, he spoke very slowly to his brother.
"You will not harm her. She has done nothing to warrant this kind of treatment. Man up and deal with your problems instead of resorting to torturing an innocent woman."
Vlad watched carefully as he very slowly lowered his hands to his sides, preparing to retrieve his lightsabers should Viox do the unthinkable...

Noticing his brother's temper flaring and the subtle hand lowering Savage merely grinned. He turned and extended his right hand towards the woman, unleashing a torrent of Force Lightning at the young woman. She shrieked and writhed in pain and agony. The Honor Guards holding her released her the moment Savage turned. The young woman twitched and contorted on the floor in pain.
"I AM the darkness! You have underestimated me for the last time, BROTHER! Now she suffered for your arrogance!"
Savage merely continued on, knowing exactly what was going to happen next...

Vlad's eyes welled up with tears of anger as the woman shrieked and contorted on the floor. Without thinking, Vlad's hands closed around his lightsaber hilts, as he began to charge forward, the blue and green blades sprang to life. All he wanted to do now was cut down his brother. Make him suffer for torturing his daughter. Make him pay for each and every injustice he had ever inflicted upon the galaxy. There were no words. Only actions were left. And Viox had chosen this route by his actions. It was only fair that Vlad answered his younger brother's actions with his own...

Time seemed to slow. Vlad reached for his sabers and lunged forward in anger. Skaar's whispers echoed within his mind.
He attacks in anger...undisciplined. Be mindful of his power armor...he thinks he's stronger. Devoted. He is a fool...
As his brother drew closer, Savage ceased his lightning attack on Vlad's daughter retrieved his lightsaber with his left hand and thumbed the activation studs. The orange blades sprang to life and clashed with the blue and green blades of his brother's. Savage lazily parried his brother's attacks, shoving the blades away effortlessly. With one heave, he batted the right blade aside, transferred his saber hilt to his right hand, batted the left blade away and reached out with his mechanical left hand closing the fingers around his brother's neck. As Vlad resisted, Savage pushed harder and slammed him up against the golden pillar. He dropped his sabers, which deactivated. Savage grinned and deactivated his saber, returning it to his belt. He then twisted, holding Vlad firmly pressed against the pillar and extended his right hand towards the young woman again. His fingers once again crackled with electricity. Vlad gripped his brother's arm with both hands, squeezing hard. Savage grimaced, but held him firm. He grinned once more. As the charge began to build, Vlad managed to expel one word before Savage released that charge...

Even in anger, Vlad was surprised at how fast his younger brother was. Even aided by his light powered exoskeleton, Vlad was just managing to keep up with his younger brother's movements. And then he faltered. Viox found an opening and broke through. Batting his sabers aside, suddenly Viox's mechanical prosthetic hand was clamped around his throat. He gurgled and sputtered for air, struggling. In a last, desperate attempt to get free, Vlad gripped his brother's arm and squeezed as hard as he could. He noticed his brother grimace in pain, but his strength did not waver. Vlad could not believe it. Any normal being would have screamed in intense pain if he would have done that. Or the would have ended up with fracture or broken bones. What had his brother gotten himself involved with now? As his brother grinned and prepared to launch another barrage of Force Lightning at his daughter, Vlad managed to push one word out as his brother continue to strangle him...
"S...STOP!"
Vlad tried to gasp, but only managed to wheeze. His vision was beginning to blur, the edged narrowing. His eyes began to roll back onto his head and his grip on his brother's arm lessened. His arms flopped loosely at his sides. If Viox wasn't careful, he'd end up killing Vlad before he was able to break him...

Savage grinned and released Vlad from his grasp. Vlad then slumped to the floor, coughing and gasping for air while holding his throat. Savage clasped his hands behind his back and strode over to the throne.
"I think my point has been made. Guards, take her away."
Savage motioned for the guards to pick up the whimpering woman and remove her from the Throne Room. He then seated himself on the Throne once more. He watched his brother as he wheezed and gasped.
"Like I said, everyone has a price. You just have to know how to apply the right kind of pressure...now are you ready to deal, or do I have to make an example of her?"
Savage watched his brother thoughtfully, knowing that he was willing to cooperate now. His beliefs didn't allow for an innocent being to suffer in his stead. As useful weakness to exploit, but a weakness none-the-less. Vlad would trade his daughter's suffering for his own and shoulder whatever burden Savage was about to place on him...

Still wheezing and coughing, Vlad rose to his feet, somewhat unsteadily. His vision was returning to normal, but his throat was sore.
"You...you will pay for this. The power you now possess will not remain contained forever..."
Vlad summoned his lightsabers to his hands and returned them to his belt. He then made his way back over to the chair before the Throne. He seated himself and looked up at his brother.
"What would you have me do?"
He would regret joining his brother and allowing him to call the shots, however, he didn't have a choice right now. Not with Emilia's life hanging in the balance. He would play along until he was able to free her and escape with her. To some place Viox wouldn't be able to track her.

Savage grinned. It was all coming together. Much simpler than he had hoped for.
"You will return to your duties as a Knight of Ren. But you will feed me information. Troop movements. Tactics, strengths and weaknesses. I want to know everything I can about these Knights. I want to know if it is worth trying to recruit them or if I am better of killing every last one of them."
If everything played out the way Savage wanted, then eventually the Knights of Ren would be given a choice. Join him or die. And he wanted to know if it was worth having this new cult on his side or if they were better off being permanently removed. Until that time, however, he needed Vlad to feed him any and all information he could. Having a person on the inside was much easier than digging for the information himself. Being the High Admiral of the First Order had its perks, but it would raise suspicions if he was suddenly digging for information on the Knight of Ren. And his great disdain for them was well known through out the ranks of the First Order. No, he was too closely watched to be digging for information on them. And he didn't want to reveal his hand too soon. There was still much to do. As he waited for his brother's response, an Honor Guard entered the Throne Room.
My liege. Colonel Locklear's distress beacon has just been detected. Xander has managed to escape his watch. Orders?"
Savage clenched his jaw in frustration. His father was much more devious than originally expected. Though that didn't surprise him. What did surprise him was the fact that Xander thought he could control the situation here. He was sorely mistaken. Savage rose to his feet.
"You have your assignment, brother. You are dismissed. Report back once you have something."
Savage began to walk out of the room, issuing orders to the Honor Guard.
"Have the Starport's main cannon lock onto his ship and shut it down. Have the Fleet move in and block it in. Alert all ground teams that we have a security breach. And get me my ship. I will deal with him myself..."
Savage angrily walked from the room, heading to the Main Hangars where his personal Sith Interceptor was docked. His father had crossed the line. Now he was going to pay for his transgressions. He would make certain of that.

Vlad listened to his brother's instructions. It sounded simple enough. Though if discovered it would place him in a seriously compromising situation. And he was betting Viox knew that. Regardless, he'd have some time to think about everything that has transpired since he had arrived here. And then the Honor Guard marched in and spoke. So, Xander had managed to shake his handler and take off? That certainly was an interesting development. And it was also his cue to leave. He didn't want to be around, especially if it meant that his brother and father were going to lock up. Viox's most recent displays of power had been astonishing and insightful. Enough so that Vlad had to seriously rethink how he'd approach his brother again, should push come to shove. No. For now, Viox held the better hand. He would do as instructed. At least until he could free Emilia and hide her away. As Viox strode from the Throne Room, Vlad rose to his feet and saw himself out. As much as he wanted to poke around a bit, Viox was already pissed with their father. No need to redirect that anger on himself. Vlad made his way to the lift that would take him down the the hangars, where his ship was docked. He wasn't looking forward to rejoining the Knights of Ren. Not now that he was supposed to be feeding Viox information on them. But he remained committed. He would do his duty. Anything less would raise suspicions.

The now stolen speeder raced across Iridonia's harsh terrain. Xander piloted the craft expertly around the acidic pools and rocky outcroppings. As he continued to make his way to the abandoned training facility that used to house his former apprentice, Valafar Starkiller, the blue hued image of the aged Imperial Officer known as Warden Savage appeared on the small holopad in the center console.
Pardon the intrusion, sire. But it would appear as though we aren't going anywhere. The Sith'ari's Fleet his closing in. The Immobilizers have locked us down. And now the main orbital defense cannon at Malidris' starport has locked on to us. At this point, I am open to suggestions that don\'t involve pissing the Sith'ari off any more than he already is...
Xander flexed his jaw in annoyance. Some times the A.I could be very dry humored. It was annoying most of the time and well placed and appreciated the rest of the time. As Xander continued to pilot the speeder, he spoke.
"Reach out to the Immobilizers. Disable their gravity wells and jump away. I will catch up once I have finished dealing with something...important."
Xander knew it was a gamble to rely on the Warden's ability to hack into enemy computer systems, but at this point it was either do or die. Xander couldn't afford to have his most powerful ship tied up by the entire might of Iridonia. He was crazy, not stupid. He needed his ship ready to move where ever his newly assigned task would take him. Sure, he was free now. But it wouldn't last long. Viox's power was astounding. But not limitless. Sure he could easily trump Xander in combat now, but what if he either lost some of his power or Xander managed to gain enough to stand on par with Viox? Either way, he needed to get to the training facility. There was something there that was key to his next step. He just needed to get there before Viox was able to intercept him. And judging by how easily he could sense his son's presence, he was running on borrowed time as it was. Xander pushed the speeder right to its operational limits. He needed to get there faster...
