::Coalition Security we are here to visit Kiffu, shore leave for the crew.:: A first response came, given the trajectory of the ship.Hold your position. The stern voice said. The security captain would certainly have an eyebrow raised given the reason for their visit.Wild Boar, your ships have given such innocent reasons before and I do not believe I can accept such an answer.Any element of innocence or surprise that the Australis might have had been ruined due to prior encounters with the Coalition. The Union of Fondor had ordered for a greater alertness. Granted, one could assume they were jumpy, but how could anyone blame them? Thyferra still was fresh in the minds of all who lived under its banner. The new Prime Minister had once been a senator of the Union himself and his first-hand reports on what happened had left a bad impression of this lot of Mandalorians. We are all aware of what happened at Thyferra. Ships that size, the one you come upon, carried contraband to Thyferra when you claimed was not there. You sought to bring forth weapons of war and promoters of conflict to a world that do not wish such a thing. The captain was not buying their reason. How can one trust such people who lie about this and that? How can I allow you to land on this world given the record of the emblem that is imprinted upon your hull, Wild Boar? I am well within my right to deny your visit given the soured relations of our people. One that you agitate with claims that are nothing but lies.

Near the twin planets Kiffu and Kiffex, Wild Boar holds course as requested by control. Her commander was anxious not to provoke the local security forces unnecessarily.::Wild Boar to Kiffu Control, we can understand your reluctance to allow a ship this size to land on Kiffu.
Would a handful of personnel shuttles be more to your liking?::Mirta was certainly willing to go along with whatever precautions made the local security mooks feel at home. Her task here was a simple one, important only to Kaine on a personal level. Beyond that, shore leave for her crew was a bonus.Graemon Gorgano

::Wild Boar to Kiffu Control, we can understand your reluctance to allow a ship this size to land on Kiffu.
Would a handful of personnel shuttles be more to your liking?:: There was a silence on the channel. Then the captain returned.I am still very... confused, Wild Boar. The security chief states over the comlink.Your home base is very far from here. Not exactly a skip and a jump away. Kiffu is on the far side of Coalition Space, and yet, somehow you came here to seek shore leave? Not glamorous Corellia, the metropolitan of Coruscant, nor the oasis of Manaan. Either you are coming from the Unknown Region or the Deep Core...The male states as he speaks further on from his words....or you came directly here, from your base, and thought your excuse was enough to get through our security.Nothing about this added up in the Captain's mind. This ship was too far away, from its likely patrols, to be seeking shore leave after a mission or duty for their superiors. There was no reason for them to be here, this far into Coalition territory, besides the fact that this system was once one of their haunts. There was the possibility of old connections that likely remained here. Connections that could endanger Coalition authority within the region. So I will ask again, Wild Boar, why are you here?During this time, the Captain was recording the transmission for logging purposes. None of this was making sense and he wouldn't be surprised if these Mandalorians tried the same thing on other worlds. They already played the innocent card a few times on Thyferra and got caught red handed with munitions being transported to the world. There was very little trust towards these visitors.

So I will ask again, Wild Boar, why are you here? Captain Mirta Nebus sighed with her finger off the transmit key. This wasn't the first time Clan Australis had run into intransigence from Coalition security. She had her orders, however, and steeled herself to reply patiently. Her finger hit the transmit key to respond. ::Kiffu Control, as we said, we are here to visit Kiffu. If necessary, we can visit the surface one at a time, if that will assuage any worries you have about our purpose here.:: Mirta wasn't quite sure what threat her ship and crew were meant to pose to the Coalition when they were willing to comply with the locals' requests. If Clan Australis wanted to force the issue, they wouldn't have bothered requesting clearance. And if the Coalition continued to get in the way of Clan Australis, well, sooner or later, Clan Australis was going to react to such unfriendly behaviour. Surely these Coalition types realised they were going to give the Mandalorians an aurodium-plated excuse to cause trouble if they kept interdicting their ships, Mirta thought.Graemon Gorgano

::Kiffu Control, as we said, we are here to visit Kiffu. If necessary, we can visit the surface one at a time, if that will assuage any worries you have about our purpose here.:: The Captain can tell that he has two options here. So he decides to take the first one.You will be diverted to one of our military outposts for inspection. Your weapons will be left in our care. You, and those who come with you, will then be taken to a cantina, by the security's choosing, and be allowed entry there for your shore leave and visitation. Any divergence from this path, by your personnel, will result in that person being returned to your craft till further notice. Frequent transgressions will result in expulsion from Kiffu. This Captain wasn't going to take any chances and would ensure these visitors were put under a tight leash. These people had caused enough trouble for Coalition space and the Union was already on high alert. Australis folk probably still had connections here, after all, and so the Coalition wasn't going to take any chances. You will comply with these terms, in full, or be ordered to leave the system.During this transmission, the visit by the Australis ship was documented by the Captain's security force and logged. A transcript of this was forward, via encrypted transmission, to Union of Fondor's capital in the Tapani Sector and to Coalition High Command.

Captain Nebus breathed a sigh of relief as the response came back from the Coalition controller. She turned to her XO. Prepare a shuttle for launch, you have the bridge, commander. Then she sent her reply.::Thankyou, Control, we will be launching a shuttle shortly. Stand by. Wild Boar out.:: She keyed off the comm.Hold position here until I return. And she left the bridge, heading aft to the hangar bay. The shuttle was an old Aka'jor-class. Mirta boarded along with a single companion from the ship's company. There were personal weapons, stowed in the shuttle, but neither of the two were armed. The shuttle dropped away from Wild Boar and made course for the planet of Kiffu. Mirta commed the controller once again, ensuring the shuttle's IFF was broadcasting correctly.::Shuttle Hyllyard requesting landing instructions.::Now, she would wait to see where the locals sent the shuttle for inspection, and then see if they were allowed to disembark onto Kiffu.Graemon Gorgano

::Shuttle Hyllyard requesting landing instructions.:: Control took a moment to respond to the hailing shuttle. A new voice spoke this time.Shuttle Hyllyard, this is Kiffu Security. You have been granted permission to land at Base 44C27, northeast of the Dark Citadel. You will be welcomed by Colonel Taggert and his regiment for inspection. Afterward, passes will be issued for your visitation. The individual goes quiet for a moment before speaking further.Transportation will be provided between the base and the designated cantina. Expenses will be covered by the local government on behalf of Shigar Vos, Sheyf of Kiffu and Commander of the Kiffu Guardians, as a welcoming gesture to former and returning friends. It seemed that the Sheyf had been brought up to date on what was going on. Coalition served as overlords, but they respected the local government of the sister worlds within this sector. A member of the Konshi clan had been elected to serve as representative of the Sheyf and his people.

Transportation will be provided between the base and the designated cantina. Expenses will be covered by the local government on behalf of Shigar Vos, Sheyf of Kiffu and Commander of the Kiffu Guardians, as a welcoming gesture to former and returning friends. Aboard shuttle Hyllyard, Captain Nebus laid in the course for the base to the north east of the Citadel. Then she sent her reply. ::Thankyou, Control, we are inbound with two..::Scans of the shuttle would show just the two passengers, the Captain and her escort. Mirta brought the craft down into Kiffu's atmosphere and easily to the designated landing zone. The notification that the locals had extended a welcome was very positive news indeed. There were still many Kiffar within the House of Australis, and the bond between the Kiffar people and their home was strong. It was important to Kaine that he show continued respect to their people and their traditions, even if he could not yet make a personal visit. Upon arrival, Mirta and her companion exited via the boarding ramp, moving to one side of the ramp to allow the locals to board and inspect the shuttle. The shuttle was provisioned, with blasters stowed in the racks, medical equipment, and food stores. There was no contraband or other objectionable kit aboard. Neither Mirta, in her captain's uniform, or her companion, helmeted, in Australis black and green beskar'gam, carried any weapons.Graemon Gorgano

The 7th Fleet emerged from hyperspace nearing the fairest reaches of the planet’s orbit. It was here that their path would begin, starting with Kiffu and it’s home system before spreading out to the nearby systems before once again moving on to its next location.

Wild Boar noted the arrival of a Coalition fleet in the Azurbani system. The vessel remained where she had been, halted while their Captain visited the planet below. They did, however, continue to monitor the situation and send reports back to Clan command.

A pair of IRI patrol cruisers dropped from hyperspace in the Azurbani system, making an anti-piracy sweep past the twin worlds of Kiffu and Kiffex. A recent military operation on Kiffex had been conducted successfully, and part of the current patrol included a full scan of the prison complex and surrounding area, to be sure all rebel activity had been stamped out.
Though it was in its infancy, the Inner Rim Imperium had gotten to work quickly.

Messages and representatives had been burning up the spacelanes between the major and minor worlds of the Inner Rim, from Adari to Zeltros and most places in between. The formation of an interstellar government, even one that had grown as quickly as the IRI; took time, as the worlds of the new alliance began to work together, and to bring down barries to communication and trade.
For the interim Chief of State of the Inner Rim Imperium, she was dealing with more paperwork than she'd had to in any of her previous roles. The workload was unduly heavy as the bureaucracy and support systems came into place, slowly reducing the number of arbitrary decisions.
Economic predictions showed continued growth for all worlds, due to the IRI's control of the major producers of both Bacta and Kolto, as well as access to the primary resources any world required. Security needs were met by the loans of vessels or the outsourcing of patrol routes while the IRI Navy was officially formed up. Kiffu's contributions to the IRI were proportionate, and local authorities were welcoming the influx of trade, and the increased security.

Above the planet of Kiffu, a IRI patrol force dropped from hyperspace. An old MC-75 cruiser with several ultra modern Myrkr-class escorts. The craft were all bearing Imperium IFFs, as they filled out the IRI navy's ranks until the new fleet ships came online. Anti Piracy patrols were the major operational task of the Imperium, which meant many small and highly mobile flotillas. The Imperium had to cover a lot of space with not very much, though the fledgling navy worked hard.
The command ship was named the Conciliator, and though aged, it was a solid and capable warship, and was accompanied by well armed and equipped escorts. The fightercraft too, were all modern designs, fighters, interceptors, and bombers from the Imperium's Mandalorian contingent. The IRI was gradually phasing out the mercenaries and Mandalorians with their own forces as they were drawn up and equipped. In time, their forces would be made up entirely of IRI vessels with IRI crews, but for now, they remained rather eclectic.
Kiffu control was contacted, and recent activity reports pored over, and crosschecked with the IRI's headquarters on Hapes. Reams of data flew back and forth across the HoloNET, which allowed the IRI to keep track of its area of responsibility. Kiffu was doing well, and like most of the member worlds, seemed content and pleased with the recent treaty. As an official member world, the spice exports of the Azurbani system would find ready access to markets.
There had been little to no pirate activity at Kiffu, unlike some of the other Inner Rim worlds, due largely to the presence of the Kiffar Guardians, who protected their world even when not part of a larger interstellar government. Still, the IRI's presence was welcomed, allowing the Guardians to make their own contacts and friendships with the people of the other Inner Rim worlds.
Conciliator and her escorts made a patrol route around Kiffu and Kiffex, ranging out around the twin worlds, conducting routine scans to ensure no pirate or smuggler havens had escaped notice. They also ensured any watching eyes saw that Kiffu and other worlds under the IRI umbrella, though focused on economy and politics, were not unprotected and undefended.

On occasion, there were criminals and other ne'er'do'wells that did not get the message that it was not a good idea to mess with the Mando'ade. Even after the recent demonstration in the Onderon system, there were some holdouts. On Kiffex, one of these groups still held out, having moved off planet into an orbital station, they still maintained facilities and had been working on ship repair facilities for a minor fleet of ships. These fools had condemned themselves by murdering an IRI judicial, and the target had been farmed out to Clan Australis.
As the IRI's Conciliator moved through the system on its patrol, a full squadron of bulky craft launched from her hangars, and immediately cloaked. The Cabur-class Bombers of Rancor Squadron were Clan Australis's most elite and most secret squadron. They were tasked with eliminating the greatest threats, and they were equipped to do the job well. Each of the three flights were assigned to targets in orbit and on the ground, and each pilot was able to carry out their mission without the need for using comms which might be detected.
Not being detected was the modus operandi of Rancor Squadron, whose pilots prided themselves on being invisible. Four bombers headed into Kiffex's atmosphere, slowing so as not to give themselves away on sensors via turbulence or heat bloom. Eight bombers divided themselves among the orbiting capital ships, stations, and infrastructure. The criminals saw nothing on sensors, having only seen the IRI capital ship pass harmlessly on the far side of their planet.
When it was time, all twelve craft struck simultaneously, releasing heavy explosives without propellant charges. They used the shadow bomb technique, with bombs ejected just clear of their launch craft, before each pilot either used their own momentum to target, or nudged the projectiles in the Force to guide them in. No bright propellant trail to alert enemies or give away positions. The first note anyone ever had of Rancor Squadron was when things began to blow up, and blow up they did.
The ground facilities were scorched ruins as pressure waves shattered the structures above ground, collapsed tunnels and caverns, and set the air itself on fire. There were no survivors. In space, capital ships brewed up under multiple strikes, with shields overloading where they'd been active, and hull breaches venting atmosphere into space. Flames burst from fuel storage facilities, and huge explosions blossomed against the station, tearing great open rents into the hull. In moments, the station and the other structures in orbit had been blown to wreckage. All the ships, fighters, and enemies had been taken out in one precise devastating strike with no warning.
A flawless mission. Undetected.
