Description:
As the Quarren Dominion's power continued to grow, so too did their demand for capable machines of war. To fill this need, the designers at the Mon Calamari Shipyards designed the Akkad-class Gunboat. It was crafted as a Long Range fighter, which provided it a greater range to distort sensors of shielded vessels, and meant it came equipped with a Hyperdrive. For defensive measures, it featured armour plating and a standard shielding system. But where the Akkad really came into its own, was its offensive capabilities. It was equipped with 2 Turret Dual Laser Cannons, 2 Swivel-Mounted Dual Laser Cannons (with a 20 degree horizontal field of fire), and 4 Torpedos (fired in over-under launchers and programmed by a targetting module located in one of the bubbles upon the wings). The missiles allowed them to hit hard against capital ships, while the laser cannons provided precision fire to ward off enemy starfighters.
