Hello to the Database Operators. Going through the database, there have been some ships that I feel could use a review and update to their stats. Of course, none of these are mine, but just ships that I have noticed searching around that I feel don't match up. And these are of my own opinion. I would have made this request in the resubmission forum created for ship resubmissions, however, it remains locked so none can post there.
Moving on to the ships I have noticed.
Liberator-class CruiserI feel that the Liberator should be boosted to a 5 in offense. The reasoning behind it is due to the amount of weaponry it carries versus others of its class. We have but a few in the frigate class that rank at a 5. They are the
Privateer-class Frigate, the
Nergal-class Assault Frigate, the
Munifex-Class Light Cruiser (Modernization), and the
Golpeador-class Frigate. These ships are a bit more versatile in their complements, but the Liberator's capabilities are a bit better, is equal to, or falls just short of these ships.
While this would cause it to break the MAD system by 2 points, the ship is most certainly an insane ship for its class, considering its troop and starfighter capacity as well. However, it is possible that the agility could be dropped to a 2, and maybe the speed dropped to a 2, though I feel those are fine as they are.
Interceptor-class FrigateIn regards to the Interceptor-class Frigate, I believe the offense should be bumped from a 1 to a 3. While it is a modified ship, there is nothing to suggest that this makes it weaker when it carries a bit more firepower than a
CR90 Corvette, which is rated at a 3, and just a bit shy of the firepower of a
CR92a Assassin-class Corvette, which sits at a 4 in offense.
TIE/D DefenderWhile created in a time that we tried to fit everything cleanly as possible into the MAD system, our ability to break canon ships has opened up the doors to allow truly superior ships to reflect their stats. Once brought up by
Lucien Needa, I feel that both the agility and the defense should be buffed. The agility of this craft is significantly higher than the T-65 X-wing and should be bumped to a 4. This is based on the maneuverability rating stated on Wookiepedia that both craft have available. The defense, when compared to a Y-wing, is equal to or greater. The shielding stats greatly exceed the Y-wing, though it's hull is weaker, which when combined, the two ships are on par with each other. As such, I feel the defense should be boosted to match the Y-wing.
Also, the link no longer leads to the proper page and needs to be updated.
A/SF-01 B-wing Heavy Assault StarfighterTo be honest, I'm not sure how this ship was stated this way based upon the stats given to it on Wookiepedia versus the
T-65 X-wing and the
BTL Y-wing starfighter.
First, agility. I feel it should be dropped to a 3 in agility. When following the maneuverability rating that all three ships have, its rating is just below the X-wing.
Next is defense. Like the previous TIE Defender, it has the same numbers regarding shield strength. When combined with the hull strength, it far surpasses the Y-wing. Based on this, the B-wing should have a defense rating of 4, if not a 5.
After looking through the Wookiepedia page at the armament, I feel that the offense stat can remain at 4. However, I think that the armament list should be updated on the page to reflect three light ion cannons, one heavy laser cannons, a twin autoblaster, and two torpedo launchers. (The twin autoblaster is what has been changed from the original submission.)
Finally, speed. Based on the Wookiepedia stats the ships have, the B-wing is actually slower than the Y-wing and is mentioned in the description to be a slow craft which made it bad for dogfighting. Its acceleration is also slower than the Y-wing as well. As such, I feel the speed stat should be dropped to a 2. If it is felt that it should be dropped no less than a 3, I believe that the Y-wing should receive a bump in speed.
Thank you all for your consideration in reviewing these crafts. I hope that I have provided sufficient reasoning to the need in looking at these ships again.
