Friends,
This is probably long overdue, but we have realized an important fact about the Roleplay Advocates. As the Database of Ships has taken off, and as the Chronicle has grown, the duties of the RPA have expanded into two very different job roles. We have decided that the time has come for us to split these into two separate entities, each with their own members: The Roleplay Advocates to foster writing on the site, and the Databank Operators (DO) to manage the chronicle and the database.
We will allow players to join both these groups if they commit to being active participants in both, however, this provides the option for members of the community to be involved in only one area, without also being expected to fill the other role. We hope that this will increase interest among the community in joining one of the groups, and also allow those who are really passionate about a particular area to specialize in that area.
If you would like to join one or both of these groups, please comment below with your choice (RPA, DO, or both). Even if you are a current RPA, you will need to re-apply, so that we know which of the two teams (or both) you wish to join. Some slight preference will be given to current or former RPAs, but we also encourage anyone in the community with an interest to volunteer.
We will also be appointing a Whill Liaison to work directly with each group.
We hope that the RPA, the Databank, and the community will benefit from this change.
This thread will remain open for any questions, and for applications to the two new guidance groups.
Thank you,
The Council of the Whills
