I do not play games, Nkosana, AVI turned up the intimidation factor in his voice; cold and dark. He used as little power as he could to the motors to turn his head slowly and steadily toward the man. I win them . . . Please, forgive my rambling monologue, but is it possible for us to get ahold of some fresh capsaicin bearing fruit for consumption? Hot peppers? Until Vejide arrives, Nkosana is unsure whether or not AVI is displaying a sense of humor or is genuinely trying to intimidate him, and looks more than a little nervous. Scratching his elbow as AVI answers Vejide's question, Nkosana tentatively concludes that AVI was only making a joke when saying he does not play games, probably.
Sango, resting his furry chin on a furry fist with an attentive, scholarly expression, listens to AVI patiently and without interruption as he answers Vejide's question about Dee. Though his curiosity is piqued by AVI's comments about Dee's Force sensitivity and a Jedi temple being bombarded, Sango is more concerned about the revelation that Dee may have injured herself when escaping from the First Order bombardment, and may have injured herself further to perform her quite miraculous navigational feat to make the trip to Ryloth as rapid as it was. Lifting a finger in triumph, Sango answers the question about fresh capsaicin bearing fruit, "Ah! It just so happens that I not only have pepper oil, for the Roba sausages I bought, so lovely for a breakfast you know, but also some fresh Bellassan peppers. Gartro egg omelets are . . ."
"Sango, Nkosana helpfully interrupts before the crew's doctor and chef gets too carried away with discussing what his plans for the peppers were, maybe you should, like, go and grab those peppers and check on Dee, huh?"
"Of course, of course, and so I shall," Sango says, patting the RFX/K Medisensor clipped to his belt as he turns to head back aboard the Geheim Masjien.
Stopping first in the galley to grab a fresh Bellassan pepper and the pepper oil, Sango then makes his way to Dee and AVI's cabin. Gently knocking on the door, Sango says, "Dee? It's Sango, my dear. Might I come in? I have a lovely Bellassan pepper for you with me as well, as AVI seems to believe doing so might help you were you to consume it."Lighting a cigarra as he reaches Nkosana and the others, Orn nods a greeting and, used to dealing directly with Jang rather than his crew, asks gruffly in Basic, "Where's the pretty boy?" Scratching beneath his chin with one hand, Nkosana waves as he tells Orn, "He's, like, still on . . ."
Walking down the Geheim Masjien's boarding ramp, Fumnanya cheerily calls out, "He's right here, actually. Patting one of the crates that are being unloaded near the foot of the boarding ramp, he asks, So, where does good ol' Mazzie want these delivered to?"

AVI watched Sango head back for the ship and he elbowed Nkosana lightly just as the hangar doors were opening up for a new arrival.
I hope he saves some of those peppers for me.
He turned and watched the new freighter come in with crossed arms, kicking at the floor as the crates were being unloaded. Not entirely sure what the procedure is at this point, he decides he would mimic the crew around him and just follow their lead.
-----
Dee rolled over at the sound of the knocking. She wasn’t sure how long she had been asleep, or if she was asleep now. Was she awake previously and delirious? She shook off the feeling, wondering if it was Sango's voice or not. Sitting up with both feet on the floor and rubbing her face, she croaked Yeah?
She really wasn’t sure if she had heard anything until the Bothan opened the door and stepped inside. Her head was stuffy and her throat raw. Dee hadn’t heard what he said before he entered, but she saw the vial of pepper oil, and she reached out for it. Opening the bottle, she dabbed a little on the back of her hand, the smell alone was perking her up. Handing the bottle back, she dabbed a little on her index finger, then licked the back of her hand. Fire rushed into her mouth and down her raw throat. Before she could stop herself, she rubbed the oil coated finger inside each of her nostrils.
Gah! She cried out and pressed her palms into her face, putting pressure on her nose and eyes. She refused to breathe for a few moments. She pulled her hands away and gasped for air. Her eyes were watering, but the fire that filled her sinus' and the magma that was running down her throat made her cry. Her voice was hoarse.
Holy kriff doc. She gasped for breath as her head started to clear. The fog was lifting as the minuscule molecules worked to fill their roles. Good goddess, kriff me.
Dee laughed I am a little bit of a lightweight when it comes to spice, but I’ll take what I can get. AVI send you my way?
She stood up, but her head began to spin again, and she sat right back down. As Dee held her head, the pain started to subside as it spread over her face and into her chest. She reached for a small container of water by the bed and took a drink. It didn’t help the pain go away, but she was dehydrated. And she was hungry again.

"He did, he did, Sango says to confirm that AVI had sent him to look in on Dee, his tone somewhat distracted by the questions running through his mind after learning that Dee is Force sensitive from AVI and then watching Dee make a rather interesting use of the pepper oil. Taking the medisensor from the clip on his belt, Sango asks, Would you mind terribly if I performed a simple scan, my dear? Completely noninvasive, I assure you," Sango assures Dee as he activates the device, which is linked to the Geheim Masjien's full medical computer.
While waiting for the medisensor to compile the data gathered so that it can detect any injuries or illnesses Dee is suffering from at present, Sango's omnivorous curiosity prompts him to ask, "Do you use the capsaicin in the pepper oil as an analgesic, my dear? Does using the Force to perform your quite impressive navigational feats cause muscle and joint pain, or is it more like peripheral neuropathy? Is there a reason you rely on pepper oil or plants containing capsaicin themselves rather than other more conventional and readily available analgesics? Frowning as he observes Dee's complexion and recalling the way she had sat down quickly after standing, Sango asks, Are you feeling dizzy or lightheaded, my dear? Do you have a headache? I wonder if you wouldn't permit me to assist you to the medbay, as I think you might benefit immensely from some IV fluids, at the very least," while offering a hand to help Dee up should she consent to be helped to the medbay.

Before she got up, she pulled out a small box she had hidden under her bed. It was a little larger than her palm, and about twice as thick. She opened it revealing a silvery white powder, with translucent blue hues reflecting off the fine dust particles. She showed it to Sango for a few moments before closing it and hiding it away once more. She looked at him for a few moments before outstretching her arm to be helped up. I trust you will keep this between us, Doctor?
She leaned on him as they made their way to the med bay. That… that is Xhro. That is the last of it in the entire galaxy, or universe even.
She closed her eyes, and her head bobbed under the dizziness. It lets me see space-time. Or if it’s a Force thing, it connects me to that... whatever. Its produced by algae that naturally grew on our home planet. It seemed to thrive on Tatooine, but it’s all gone now with my people.
Things are a little different here. The fabric is woven with a different thread. Things are just different. This is the second time this has happened to me. The first time was the worst I have ever felt in my life, though I did overdose on it to get away from the Eff Oh. I wanted to die, and I thought I was about to.
She coughed, a little heartburn was burning, a side effect of the oil. We were on Tatooine, and there wasn’t anything to eat but this dried bantha meat, but it was dried with peppers. For whatever reason, it kicked me out of it, the sickness. AVI thinks it has to do with the capsaicin overriding whatever neurotransmitter something or another. I don’t know, and he doesn’t really either. He thinks there is an orchid flower somewhere out there with similar properties and would have the same effect.
She sat down on the table in the medbay, eyes half opened. She realized she was rambling but knew that it would be better the doctor know if she was going to be a part of the crew for a bit. I mean neither of us is medically trained, I just had the biology basics. He knows the how Xhro functions, I just know how it works for me. And this isn't how it’s supposed to be.
She lay back on the table, covering her eyes with her right arm, letting it rest against her face. I think there is a better method for me to do my thing, but I will probably not worry about it this next jump. My severe apologies to the crew, our delivery may not be done in five minutes.
She breathed slowly, she was exhausted, hungry, thirsty, and sore. Her mouth, sinuses, and throat were burning still, though it was getting milder by the minute. Dee was still not exactly certain that what she was experiencing was a reality as her derealization popped in and out and on different things and places and times.

"Of course, my dear, of course, Sango assures Dee when asked to keep to himself what she shows him, Doctor patient confidentiality applies even on a smuggling crew," he adds with a chuckle while assisting Dee to the medical bay. Though he would like to have a sample of the Xhro for analysis, Sango sets that aside for another time, Dee's present state a more pressing concern for him, though he supposes that the two things may not be entirely unrelated in light of all that she shares. Dee's characterization of space time being different here than elsewhere is a curious statement, also warranting further examination another time, and Sango makes a note of the need to do so after he has seen to her immediate condition.
Once Dee is laying down, Sango skims through the medisensor's preliminary analysis, which unsurprisingly reveals that she is dehydrated. Gathering the supplies he needs to start an I.V. and run a bag of normal saline, Sango says, "You are a bit dehydrated, my dear, so I will start an I.V. and give you some fluids. Starting the I.V. is somewhat more difficult than usual given that Dee is dehydrated, but the medbay's doppler enables him to do so with relative ease. As he secures the I.V. and begins priming the I.V. tubing, Sango says, For now, I suggest that you not attempt to use the Xhro, or any other substitute. We shall simply explain that your navigational abilities require a refractory period, which I guarantee will have the effect of Fumnanya insisting that your talents only be called upon in dire need in the future. I'm a doctor, not an astrophysicist or scholar on Force sensitivity, darn it, but what you've said suggests to me that there is an undue amount of risk involved to your health given the difference in the, erm, fabric of space time you've encountered. I would also appreciate it if you would include me in any investigation you and AVI make into alternate methods, my dear. You are, after all, now officially a member of the crew and therefore under my care."
Setting the I.V. pump's rate of administration, having concluded that there is no need to bolus the fluid given that Dee is not in shock, Sango says, "Now, just lay there and try to relax, my dear. Your electrolyte levels appear to be near enough to within normal limits that we need not concern ourselves with correcting them intravenously, he mutters as he studies the results of the medisensor's analysis, I think we'll just have you drink a nice bottle of Hydralyte in a few moments for that instead. Your BMP and CMP are not particularly alarming either. Yes, yes. Smiling as well as his canine features permit him to, Sango says, I think you'll be feeling better in no time. Observing that Dee is breathing more slowly than he feels is normal, Sango asks soothingly while looking at the vital signs displayed on the table's heart, temperature and other monitors after activating them with the press of a button, Are you having any pain, my dear? Headache? Shortness of breath? Do you know where you are? Who I am?"

Dee nods in agreement as he tells her to lay off the Xhro. He didn’t need to tell her twice. Unless it was a dire emergency and they had to make a run from the first order again, she would be staying away from the Xhro for a bit longer. There was a bit of a pause as he asked her if she had any other symptoms. She turned her head and looked at the door. For a second, she thought she saw De'ath leaning against the doorframe, still dressed up in yellow.
Derealization, or maybe delirium. Pain in my esophagus. I know who I am, where I am, and who you are, but sometimes I have to think about if its real or not. This happened the last time too, just mixed in with further dehydration and the Tatooine heat.
She laughed lightly so as to not aggravate her vocal cords.
It took me a few days to get over it last time, and its nowhere near as bad now.
She realized she hadn’t actually answered his question yet. She looked over at him and pointed to herself
I am De'ath Thu'ker, Guild Navigator. You are Sango, Medical officer of the Gegim Mashin. Gekem?
She made a funny face and some odd sounds as she stretched her mouth and tongue.
Cottonmouth, sorry. Yeah, we're on Ryloth.
She looked puzzled as the lights in the room faded in and out of reality for a few moments.

"Ah ha, Sango says when Dee explains her symptoms, looking more than a little relieved when, shortly after she does so, she answers the questions he had posed to gauge how alert and oriented she is in a way that relieves his concern that her condition might be more concerning that vitals and medisensor scans alone could reveal. Geheim Masjien, he smiles while pronouncing the YT-2400's name slowly and clearly for her while he turns and removes an ice pack from a refrigerated cabinet. Handing the ice pack to Dee, Sango says, Hold on to that for me, will you, my dear. Focus on the cold sensation, it may help to relieve the sense of derealization you've described."
Pulling a wheeled chair closer to the table after grabbing a bottle of Hydralyte from the refrigerated cabinet, Sango takes a seat and hands the bottle to Dee, explaining, "For the cottonmouth and to replenish your electrolytes, and then asks, The derealization or delirium, do you feel it only after using your navigational abilities, or at other times as well? His question reminding him of another course of treatment known to have varying degrees of success in treating derealization, Sango then asks Dee, Would you perhaps like a mild anxiolytic, my dear? Nothing too strong," he assures her in a tone making it evident he is not going to press the matter should she decline the offer.

Thanks She takes the cold pack and holds it on her forehead, occasionally patting her neck, shoulders, and chest with it. She breathed deeply. With her free hand, she takes the drink and starts to sip on it. Not a huge fan of the taste, she powers through it knowing it’s good for her.
She was suddenly reminded of her father insisting she eats the tabor root. She looked back through the viewport and watched as a planet passed them by. They were on an expedition. For what, she couldn’t remember. She looked back at the yellow discs on her plate; they smelled old. She shoved the plate away.
She stopped sipping the drink momentarily as Sango asked her about her symptoms. She shook her head. No, I’ve never had symptoms from taking Xhro or navigating, outside of these two times. Derealization, sure, but that usually followed a panic attack, and I have only had a couple of those in my life before now.
She shrugged, breathing deeply. Delirium, once. When I was much younger. I had a crazy high fever and had a full discussion with myself about a show I had seen. I don’t remember how the discussion went, nothing too crazy, but that memory is burned in my mind as something that happened.
She held out her hand to the offer and shook her head slightly. Not now. If it’s not better by tomorrow, then maybe. I think right now I am going to stick to hydration and rest. I am getting my bearings again. The IV is clearing my brain fog a little. Maybe if you have a lozenge, numbing would be nice. She took another deep breath, suddenly wondering if the anxiolytic wouldn’t be a bad idea. She shook it off, figuring this too would pass. It was a series of events, just like last time, though now she wasn’t inhaling the dry Tatooine air every time.

"I believe I have just the very thing, Sango says when Dee requests a lozenge for her throat. Standing and using his thumb to unlock a cabinet containing the medications he has stocked in the medbay, Sango retrieves a few individually packaged phenol lozenges, popping one out into a small medicine cup he hands to Dee as he says, There you are, my dear, one for now and, he hands her the other lozenges, some for later in case you need them. Now then, he continues while taking the bag of fluids and placing them on a wheeled I.V. pole, the fluids will be complete in eight hours. I imagine you will be a bit more comfortable in your quarters than in here, so why don't I help you back to your room?"
Offering Dee his arm once more so that she can hold on to him while he pushes the I.V. pole, Sango helps her to her room and into her bunk. Checking the I.V. pump's settings fussily after Dee is in bed, Sango explains, "I'll check in on you near to when the bag is complete, my dear. You get some rest. I think we'll have our captain look after the piloting once we have the cargo aboard and know where it is we are to deliver it, Sango says in a tone making it clear it is not a suggestion, so don't worry about that at all. Setting a bottle of water and another of the Hydralyte solution on the table beside Dee's bed, Sango sets a comlink beside the drinks and says, If you need anything at all, my dear, simply speak into that and I shall be here in a moment."

In the bed, she smiles at the Bothan. His bedside manner is more than what she expected from someone among a bunch of smugglers. De had never really had much experience outside of her own company, and while much smaller, this operation reminded her of that feeling. She laughed hoarsely, though her throat was feeling better, or rather had little feeling at all thanks to the lozenge.
You know, having me trapped by an IV bag and doctors’ orders, I am surprised you aren’t using this time to dig a little with that inquisitive mind of yours.
She lay back on the bed and stared at the ceiling. It wasn’t spinning, and she was certain of how real it was. She took a deep breath, though not as deep as earlier. She felt sleep creeping up on her. She blinked but didn’t open her eyes.

Scratching beneath his chin with one hand, Nkosana waves as he tells Orn, "He's, like, still on . . ."
Walking down the Geheim Masjien's boarding ramp, Fumnanya cheerily calls out, "He's right here, actually. Patting one of the crates that are being unloaded near the foot of the boarding ramp, he asks, So, where does good ol' Mazzie want these delivered to?" Puffing on his cigarra as he squints at Jang with no evidence of finding any humor whatsoever in his irreverent banter, Orn replies in Basic, "Half to Coruscant, evenly divided between the underworld, the Uscru District, and Coco Town. Removing a datacard from a pocket of his tactical vest, Orn tosses it to Jang as he says, Names and locations of who'll be accepting the deliveries are on that. Not sure that Jang needs it spelled out for him, but also unwilling to take the risk of assuming the smuggler captain is not a complete idiot, Orn adds, Make sure you don't leave it laying around anywhere once the job's done, yeah? Probably best you try and commit it all to memory and then destroy it."
Tapping the ash from the tip of his cigarra onto the floor of the cave, Orn explains, "The other half is to be divided between Tatooine and Nal Hutta, reups for Gebhuza and Shabnam. Waving a hand, Orn asks rhetorically, I assume you remember where the deliveries are made? Tossing an unmarked electronic keycard to Fumnanya, Orn goes on in a bored tone, Payment for the Coruscant job will be in a storage locker in Coruscant Spaceport, the number of which you'll get via holonet message only when confirmation of all three deliveries has been received. Gebhuza and Shabnam's lackeys will have your payments for those jobs ready and waiting. Concluding in a sarcastic tone, Orn asks, Questions or concerns? Comments?"

Sango rumbles a laugh, putting a furry hand over his heart when Dee suggests he might take advantage of her present condition to pry into any of the interesting subjects that have come up in the course of his tending to her, "You wound me, my dear, I would not even dream of such deviousness. When you are recovered, he jokes, and not tethered to an I.V., however, all bets are off. Now, get some rest," he admonishes her playfully, and then bows before leaving her quarters. Taking his pocket chrono from his vest pocket to check what time it will be when the fluids are completely infused so that he can commit the time to memory, Sango walks back to the medbay and, after using the intercom to let Dikeledi know that he has put Dee on bed rest for the time being, creates a password protected medical record for Dee, charting the bits of history and other information she had shared along with the data from the medisensor scan.
Fumnanya manages to catch the datacard but fumbles the catch of the keycard, distracted by the effort to commit all of the details of the job to memory. Bending down to pick up the keycard, Fumnanya bites back the sarcastic comment that automatically comes to mind when Orn asks if he has any questions, reminding himself that the Twi'lek has never exhibited much of a sense of humor in their past dealings any way. "Nope, I got it all, Fumnanya says as he stands up after picking the keycard up from the cave floor. Brushing the dust from the card, Fumnanya gives Orn a salute and says, Until next time."
Turning to Nkosana, AVI and Vejide, Fumnanya says, "Get the cargo loaded up and secured," and then heads back up the boarding ramp, making his way to the cockpit.
Dikeledi, looking over her shoulder as Fumnanya enters the cockpit, asks, "Where we headed?"
"Tatooine, Nal Hutt and then Coruscant, Fumnanya replies as he settles into the pilot's seat, lifting a finger as he says, Not a word."
Adopting an innocent expression, Dikeledi asks, "About what? Smirking, she asks, You don't mean about the fact our new hire might only be able to do her little trick once, do you?"
"That was a lot more than a word, Fumnanya points out as he hands Dikeledi the datacard with all of the details for the Coruscant job, her memory for such things better than his, We're gonna need to burn or wipe that after you have all memorized. People and places for Coruscant. Checking the local weather to make sure there are no sand or heat storms to worry about at present, Fumnanya says, Weather is clear, start laying in our course for Tatooine. We'll lift off once the cargo is squared away. Did Sango . . ."
"Yeah, Dikeledi says as she starts working on the navicomputer, He says our little princess has orders to be on bed rest until further notice. Anticipating the next question, she says, She's expected to make a full recovery, but Sango also strongly recommends she doesn't do her trick going forward unless the situation is totally FUBAR and the risk to her health is warranted."
Fumnanya nods, anticipating his first mate's impending snippy comment and lifting a finger as he says, "Not a word."

AVI took a look back at Niko and shrugged. Heading over to one of the repulsorsleds, he puts both hands on it. Bracing for a tough push, AVI's servos began whining under the electric load, but nothing was moving. He stopped, looked around and noticed it was locked in place.
Darn thing.
He muttered as he unlocked it and another sled. He pushed one and pulled the other behind him as he made his way aboard the ship. He avoided looking at the Niko and Vee. If AVI could have felt embarrassment, or at least shown it, his metal frame would have been glowing a dull red.
=====
Dee slumbered in her room, unmoving in her sudden exhaustion.
***She walked down the corridors of the Geheim Masjien. The hum of the engines behind her and the constant whine of the life support filled the air. Stale air was a bane to many, but for her, it was a reminder of home. It was the baked treats people's grandmothers made for them. It was the comforting embrace of their mother, a warm word from their father. Coming into the empty cockpit, she watched as space passed them by.
Flying through real space was a slower process than the quick jumps in hyperspace, but for moving around a solar system, it made the most sense. Do more, see more, experience everything the goddess provided and witness the spender and the beauty of it all.
She propped her feet up on the console as a gas giant passed them by. Unnamed, uncharted, it was a lone wanderer in a forgotten solar system. Its rings spoke of countless eons of chaos and wonderment. She would have liked to dance in those rings, dodging chunks of rock and ice and exploring their vastness.
She sighed, it was as close to home as she would get for now.***
Dee shifted slightly, her blanket falling off her shoulder.

Having observed AVI's method for loading two of the repulsorsleds at once, without having seen that he had needed to unlock them before doing so, Nkosana attempts to imitate AVI, stepping between two repulsorsleds and trying to move them towards the boarding ramp with no success as both are locked.
Shaking her head and subtly using a foot to unlock one of the repulsorsleds, Vejide says in an exasperated tone, "Wimp," and then, unlocking the other with her foot, pulls it while pushing the one she had been bringing towards the boarding ramp before pausing to watch Nkosana's comic struggle to move the locked repulsorsleds he had been straining between.
Fumnanya, pushing the last repulsorsled along, gives Nkosana a conciliatory shrug of a shoulder and says, "She works out, and then manages to suppress his amused smile long enough to get to the boarding ramp, catching up with Vejide and AVI in time to have one stow their sleds in the primary cargo hold while the other is sent to the secondary cargo hold. Pushing his repulsorsled into the primary cargo hold, Fumnanya tells AVI, Nkosana will show you how to deal with concealing the spice when he gets here, for now just start unloading the repulsorsled over by those containers along the wall there."
Nkosana, as promised, arrives shortly after Fumnanya heads to the cockpit, and shows AVI how the containers, containing caf beans, flour or other staples like grains with long shelf lives and which have been used more than once to conceal illicit cargo of one kind or another, each have a hidden compartments in which the bricks of spice can easily be stored without having to resort to burying them in the old caf beans, flour or grains. Using a small utility knife to dip into one of the bricks of spice after pulling up the adhesive keeping a corner in place, Nkosana gives AVI a wink as he says, "Just, like, checking the quality out, and then snorts the spice from the blade of the knife before putting the adhesive tape tab back over the small incision he had made and then returning to work after assuring AVI, Good stuff, no worries on that account. Can never be too sure. Always good to check. Can't trust anyone in this business you know."
While AVI, Nkosana, and Vejide work to stash their cargo, Fumnanya and Vejide take the Geheim Masjien out and into the desert once more, making for an infrequently traveled or patrolled area of Ryloth's orbit and, upon doing so, jump to hyperspace . . .

After setting her Whitecloak fighter down in the small spaceport in Joreinka, Trishna had made her way into the city itself to begin stalking Mazer'kairn by observing the villa where the Twi'lek resides and, according to what she had learned from Sinya'gella, presides over his ryll and slave smuggling empire.
The villa proves easy enough to find, though it's somewhat isolated location makes selecting a vantage point from which to conduct surveillance slightly more difficult. Ultimately deciding on an interior bluff within the caverns the city was built inside that is tall enough to make remote observation of the villa possible, Trisha settles in with her electrobinoculars to begin learning Mazer's routine, what defenses and guards are providing security for the villa, and to begin learning the lieutenants and other minions involved in the criminal organization so that she can ultimately wipe the organization out entirely.

It went off without a hitch, the plans established by the slaver scouts. Each of the ships arrived at their destination, moving in quickly to suddenly settle over the villages, giving the Twi'lek's no time to mount any kind of defense, though it was less than capable of standing against their invaders. The tactic merely crafted a scenario in which none of their men were harmed and the Twi'leks were forced into submission with a minimal amount of product.
in but a few short moments, men were dropping from the ships by cables and began rounding the villagers up. Though a few tried fighting back the best they could, a few shots from their main guns, especially a single barrage from one of the dungeon ship's quad turbolaser batteries, and everything gave up. There was nothing that could be done in regards to resistance and the residents were left with the choice of die or submit, the latter becoming the chosen option.
With the villagers within the slavers' grasp, the ships descended upon their respective villages and began working to tag the Twi'leks and load them up. But all had not gone according to plan. Within the sudden attack, there was one within the main village that had activated an emergency distress beacon. It was the only hope they truly had. Faith was all they had left now.

Bringing the ship in, Kel piloted the craft towards the designated coordinates. It wasn't long before they could see a village and a large ship landed just outside of it. Taking a deep breath, Kia looked to the Nautolan. "Bring the ship down just up ahead. I'll get a closer look on foot. We may be cloaked, but we don't need to risk catching unwanted attention."
Giving a nod, Kel brought the ship down as Kia departed the bridge for the cargo area. Already equipped with her weapons, she decided to pick up a homing device should they need to follow the ship. Time would tell what they could manage with their resources. Opting to go alone, Kia made her way towards the village, making sure to stay hidden the whole time.
When she reached the edge of the village, she lifted a set of macro binoculars to get a better view. Seeing all that was transpiring, she activated her comlink. I've made it to the village. As I suspected, the Twi'leks here are being rounded up. Slavers, without a doubt. Way too many for us to take on. She then looked over at the ship. There is only a single ship, but it looks to be corvette class. And from what I can tell, it's packing some serious heat. Transmitting an image for analysis. Looks like we'll need to call in Captain Velmor for assistance.
Sending an image back to Kel to be examined, Kia patiently waited as she kept her eyes on the unfolding events. Even if they only pulled in a single ship to take it down, they would have to approach this carefully. There was no way to stop the acquisition of the Twi'leks, so they had to let them go. They would need to plant a homing device and keep close to figure things out from there. If they were lucky, these slavers would return to a base of operations in which they could infiltrate and remove the captured slaves and bring the facility crumbling. It was merely a matter of patience.
After a few minutes, Kel came back over the channel.
I did some cross-referencing and packing serious heat is an understatement. It appears to be a Kiltirin-class Dungeon Ship. Enough firepower to take on much larger ships. Whoever they are, they sure don't mess around. Would definitely suggest bringing in the big guns for this one.
Copy that. Unfortunately, there isn't much we can do at the moment. We'll just have to be patient and see where they lead us. I'm moving in closer to plant the homing device and I'll be on my way back.
Cutting the channel, Kia began heading in. She needed to move fast as it seemed they were close to finished in loading up the villagers. Once she was certain she was close enough, she tossed the device and watched as it latched on to the hull. Being all she could do, she started heading back.

The slavers gathered up the Twi'leks one by one until none remained. While a larger village, the number of residents wasn't even able to fill half of the ship's capacity. Not that it mattered. The Kiltirin was the smallest, yet most capable ship for the task. Throw in a could of the freighters for a couple of outliers and a hefty stock was gathered for purchase.
To the knowledge of the slavers, all was going smoothly as no one picked up anything on the scanners. A quick easy grab with enough slaves to bring in a decent profit. Proper planning and care always made for incredible profits at the lowest cost. Once every resident was loaded, the ship lifted off. As they headed into orbit, the pair of freighters joined up as they moved into the planet's orbit.

Kia had just made it back to her ship when the slavers lifted off. For a few moments, the female stood there, simply watching until the vessel had disappeared from sight. She knew that they were on a time table now. The longer they waited, the more they risked losing some of the Twi'lek to purchase or worse. That was something she'd wouldn't allow. Yet, she had to exercise patience to ensure they had their location before looking to Captain Velmor for aid.
Taking a breath as a breeze blew past her, Kia headed inside. As the loading bay closed behind her, she moved with a hastened pace up to the bridge. Taking her place at the center, she began inputting commands to lock onto the frequency of the tracking device. Once it registered on her console, she looked over to Kel as she transmitted the information to him. "Let's get going. I don't want to get too far behind."
Only a nod was given as the ship powered up and lifted off the ground. No longer needing the cloak, Kel deactivated it as he took the ship up into orbit, following the signal from the beacon.

Her expression inscrutable beneath the headscarf covering all but her eyes, Trishna, who has not always been and will imminently no longer be Trishna, stands at the edge of the cliff looking down upon the lifeless, unclad body of the woman she has decided she will assume the identity of laying face up on the sands below, allowing herself a moment to mourn her latest victim, whom she genuinely not only admired but had also come to cherish enough to doom her. Having met first as adversaries when the woman, a Mandalorian bounty hunter named Malin Bralor, had been hired by a rival to kill a slaver that Trishna, acting in the capacity of the Jedi Watchman she had assumed the role of, had been tasked with capturing alive by Ryloth’s authorities. Trishna and Malin had fought one another to a standstill before, upon realizing their conflict had allowed the slaver to escape, reaching an uneasy truce that eventually resulted in an unlikely friendship that grew and deepened over time until it ended here in the Jixuan desert.
Sighing heavily as she unwinds her headscarf , her features shifting and flowing beneath it so that they become identical to those of the dead woman lying on the sands below the cliff, Trishna ceases to be Trishna and becomes Malin, releasing her old identity as she releases the headscarf and watches it flutter away on the wind. “Ret’, cyar’ika,” she who has decided to be Malin says softly in Mando’a, her natural linguistic talents and telepathic abilities enabling her to acquire the language just as the latter allowed her to learn all she needed to of who she now is even if it was something never shared between her and the woman she has now replaced.
Glancing at the hazy cloud of sand gathering on the distant horizon, Malin smiles, the oncoming sandstorm and desert predators sure to completely dispose of the remains of her victim, and then picks up the blue buy’ce lying at her feet, tucks it beneath her arm, and turns to board the YT-2400 light freighter that is now, like all that belonged to the woman she has supplanted, hers. Moments later the ship lifts off and makes its way into orbit.
