*The Maw Installation was an Imperial research centre establisehd for the creation of superweapons. It was built from asteroids in the midst of the Maw Cluster, a virtually unnavigable cluster of black holes.*

The "Myst" arrived to the system in close range, Following archived data of the charted path in, the ship set it's vector point and proceeded inwards, The pilots are dressed in pressurized survival suits, for life support power and all power is used for shields and weapons systems only, the daring crew enters.

Arriving to a safer area, the ship glided into the open hanger bay. Codes are sent to the mainframe computer and accepted, the hanger doors are closed next and the area pressurized.

Commodore Darby Skyvers and the OE ShadowGuard Akdov exited the shuttle as the rest of the Installation was pressurized, Skyvers followed the route from his data pad to an office inside, escorted by Akdov, they moved about the station with ease, abandoned and empty for decades now, but still full of old Imperial tech files from the Imperial Department of Military Research.

Skyvers connects to the Mainframe terminal in the office and begins to download the files, actually all files on the system are copied, Akdov continues to survey the area in the room, moving about, picking up a few datapads from some desks, Skyvers looks to him.
Almost finished, corruption data virus ready to install upon completion.
Akdov nods to him after returning his light sweep of the room.
Time to Leave Commodore.
Skyvers finishes the virus upload to the mainframe, corrupting all data on the mainframe and the rest of the stations computer systems. They return back to the shuttle and prepare for liftoff, the ship powers up and the shuttle is secured for exit. Leaving the hanger and back to the hostile environment outside the safety of the Installation.

After Nilda and her flight crew set the shuttle down inside an abandoned, darkened hangar after a long, arduous, perilous, and tense journey to the remains of the Maw Installation, Faina and the other members of the Imperial Knights sent to search the remains of the station for a set of blueprints believed to be somewhere in the remains disembark from the shuttle.
Adjusting her breath mask, worn by all of the Imperial Knights given that a sensor sweep of Maw Installation revealed that the station's life support systems are either powered down or damaged, Faina walks away from the foot of the boarding ramp towards the edge of the circle of light surrounding the shuttle, the ship's external lights the only illumination in the eerie, silent hangar bay they have set down in.
Macario Genchi, the Imperial Knight in charge of the mission, waits until Commander Foresi, leading the Shadowtroopers accompanying the Knights on the mission, has disembarked with her squad, and then asks the slicer, "Where would you suggest we start looking for the plans? "

PV2 Nirav 74, the male Khommite chosen for the mission due to his slicing skills, holds his ARC-9965 blaster rifle in a patrol ready carry as he considers his answer to Genchi's question. ::There's no record of the changes Calrissian made, Nirav begins, which complicates things, but the living module seems like the most logical place to start. The plans are more likely to be stored in the facility's computer network than, you know, as a physical set of blueprints sitting collecting dust in a file cabinet or rolled up on a shelf somewhere. Get me to the installation's server room, wherever that is; that's where I think we're most likely to find what we're here for.::
As Nirav and Genchi talk, Nicolina tells her scout troopers, PFC Gerou and CPL Grahn, Deploy your R-4's, have them recon ahead of us, see what their sensors can pick up, give us an idea of the layout, all that good stuff. Looking over towards SFC Hintlian, the squad's medical officer, as her scout troopers bring their small reconnaissance droids online and prepare to send them out, Nicolina says, I want you to stay here with the shuttle. I doubt we're going to find any hostiles or other threats, place seems like a tomb. Adjusting the sling of her DLT-19 heavy blaster so that it hangs in a shoulder ready position as she walks over to where Genchi and Nirav are talking, Nicolina asks the Imperial Knight, What's the plan? We all sticking together, or splitting up to search?

Faina arches an eyebrow in curiosity as, before Macario can answer the question that Nicolina poses to him, Imperial Knight Shura Losev speaks up after exchanging a pointed glance with Knight Kostin.
Restlessly twirling her lightsaber hilt, Shura says, "If I may make a suggestion, Macario, I think we should all stick together. Addressing Nicolina, she continues, If your slicer can access the installation's systems via a droid socket or other access point here in the hangar, he should be able to find some kind of schematic or other record of the current layout that can point us right to the server room, right? Why waste time looking around without a clue when t here is almost certainly a map in the installation's systems?"
Nodding, Macario says, "Good point, and then asks Nicolina, Think Nirav 74 is up to it?"
Faina, policing her expression to avoid any of her mounting disquiet from revealing itself, surreptitiously watches Shura, who looks more than a little relieved that her suggestion that they do not split up was heeded, makes a mental note to watch her fellow Imperial Knight closely without revealing that she has begun to suspect that something has begun to feel amiss; something that Macario appears to be as yet oblivious to.

Grinning unseen beneath her helmet, Nicolina looks over towards her Khommite comms operator, asking, What do you say Private? You feeling up to it?
Nirav 74 lifts a hand, making a circle with his thumb and forefinger as he says confidently, ::Roger that El-tee.:: Giving Maracio a nod, Nirav points towards a droid socket nearby, cheerily telling the Imperial Knight, ::That droid socket was a good idea, I can work with that.:: Moving his blaster rifle into an off-side drop carry position as he reaches the droid socket, Nirav says over a shoulder to anyone that might be listening, ::This might take me a few minutes, sorry,:: and then tunes everyone out as he gets to work.
Using hand signals to have her troops spread out around where Nirav has set and keep their eyes open, which feels like a useless gesture given that she feels utterly certain that they are alone here on the long abandoned installation, Nicolina walks over closer to Macario and asks conversationally, What do you think the odds are that what we're here to find is actually here to be found?

His voice somewhat muffled by the breath mask he wears, Macario replies to Nicolina's question, "Favorable enough I imagine. I doubt the Supreme Commander would have approved this operation were it not more likely than not that the plans he desires are here. Nodding his chin towards where Nirav is working away, he adds, If your slicer is as good as his having been chosen for this mission suggests, we'll find out soon enough."
Only half listening to the exchange between Nicolina and Macario, her attention and concentration more on watching Shura and Kostin, who both appear interested in Nirav's progress, Faina holds tightly to the sense she had earlier of something being amiss even though she can feel doubt creeping in. It has begun to seem paranoid to suspect that some of her fellow Imperial Knights might have an agenda of their own, and Faina resists the urge to dismiss her unease in the hope of fostering a subtle watchfulness that could enable her to . . . what, exactly, she wonders? Prevent her fellow Imperial Knights from sabotaging the mission? Why would they want to do such a thing? Shaking off her doubts before they can distract her, Faina steps closer to the scout troopers, Grahn and Gerou, keeping an eye on Shura and Kostin as she asks, "Have the recon drones found anything useful?"

Answering Faina's question, CPL Katina Grahn says, ::Whole lotta nothing. No power signatures, no lifeforms, nothing. Place is deserted.::
::No big surprise there,:: PFC Markos Gerou chimes in. ::This op should be a cake walk.::
::Got it,:: PV2 Nirav 74 says, ::Layout of the base is pretty simple, server room is not far from the power plant, which is convenient since we'll have to restore power before I can try to access the databanks to see if the plans are stored in 'em.::
Alright then, we know where we're going, Nicolina says, Grahn and Gerou, take point. Head out now, we'll be right behind you. As her scout troopers head out, Nicolina moves her DLT-19 to patrol ready carry and asks Macario, You coming along, or are we doing all the work?

Arching an amused eyebrow, Macario tells Nicolina, "We're with you, Commander. Lifting a hand to motion for Shura, Faina, Jaska, and a pair of female Zeltron identical twins - Lanfen and Xiulan - to accompany the group, he explains, Jaska and Xiulan were chosen for this mission for their engineering skills, so they can restore power while the rest of us move on for the databanks."
Faina, looking down at the restless curling and unfurling of the cybernetic fingers of her left hand as she moves to follow the others, frowns and curls the fingers into a fist, willing herself to ignore the compulsion to watch the movements of her hand, which still feels alien to her, something separate from her despite the artful way it has been seamlessly conjoined with her.
Just as Grahn and Gerou had claimed, the silent and dark corridors they follow the scout troopers at the head of the party are tomb-like - sterile, dusty, and still - and they encounter no obstacles or hidden traps on the way to the power plant. Continuing on with the others for the servers after Jaska and Xiulan separate from the party to restore power to the servers, Faina watches Shura, who twirls her lightsaber hilt ceaselessly as always, closely, her imagination making every move her fellow Imperial Knight makes seem furtive, laden with some dark, hidden purpose.
The wait for the power to be restored seems endless to Faina, watching Macario pace and while Shura twirls her lightsaber hilt as she leans back against a wall near where Nirav sets up in preparation of beginning his search and, if all goes well, retrieval of the plans they have come to find. Glancing upwards as, after what feels like an eternity of waiting, the lights overhead flicker on and the clicking and humming of the servers coming online breaks the silence, Faina, the fingers of her left hand curling and unfurling restlessly once more, reaches up with her right hand to adjust her breathmask as she settles in to wait now for Nirav to complete his task.

Once they have made it to the server room and Nirav 74 is arranging his customized datapad, scramble keys, and other tools of the slicer trade around him in front of where he has decided to do, or at least attempt to do, what he was brought to do, Nicolina asks him, Any idea how long it will take you once power is restored?
Fussily continuing to set his gear up, Nirav 74 answers, ::Depends. If all I'm dealing with is a purge of the systems before Maw was abandoned, might not be too hard. I've got a few custom data retrieval programs I can run, but it'll be a bit needle in the haystack without knowing where the files, assuming there were files with the plans, and that nothing happened that would have overwritten . . .::
Give me the best case scenario, Nicolina interrupts the Khommite before he can spout anymore techno babble she has no hope of understanding.
Bobbling his head from side to side for a moment as he considers the question, Nirav finally replies, ::An hour, maybe more. Like I was trying to say, it will depend on exactly what I'm dealing with, if there is any data corruption or equipment damage or degradation from how long . . .::
Lifting a hand to stop Nirav before he really gets going, Nicolina asks, Anything we can do to help you?
Shaking his head, Nirav says simply, ::No. Well, don't distract me while I'm working.::
Got it, Nicolina says, nodding towards his equipment as the lights finally come on, You're up. I'll make sure you're left alone, she assures him, and then walks over to tell Faina and the other Imperial Knights and her scout troopers, Might want to get comfortable, Nirav says it could be an hour or more before he does his thing and we know if this was all a waste of time.

Under other circumstances, Faina imagines that she would find watching a slicer at work to be exceptionally dull. As, however, the nagging sense that she has had since they set down in the long abandoned facility that something is amiss has only increased in intensity, her mounting anxiety supersedes any boredom which might otherwise have been invited by the waiting.
Continuing to keep an eye on Shura, who has, for no precise reason that Faina can put a finger on, aroused the majority of the unfounded suspicion that has left Faina so unsettled, Faina watches as her fellow Imperial Knight assumes a position behind Nirav and, twirling her lightsaber hilt all the while, appears raptly interested in watching his progress, as though, Faina cannot help but think, waiting for the resolution of the slicer's attempt to find the plans they have come in search of as though something is set to occur the very moment the search ends. Faina also notes the arrivals of Jaska and Xiulan, occurring separately, and how they move into positions near Nicolina and her scout troopers. Lanfen, for her part, subtly places herself midway between Faina and Macario, who Faina can see appears entirely oblivious to the way their fellow Imperial Knights have strategically placed themselves around the room. Or merely appear to have done so, Faina thinks, her uncertainty and unwillingness to believe that her fellow Imperial Knights might have some nefariously sinister plot nestled within the mission preventing her from accepting her suppositions as anything more worthy of concern.
Unaware that the compulsive opening and closing of her prosthetic fingers has stilled, or that they had done so the moment she rested her hand on the lightsaber hilt upon her hip without being aware of doing so, Faina watches and waits for the slicer to finish his work, a moment that she hopes will reveal that her apprehension has been suffered for no reason whatsoever.

Though it is more likely than not dull overall to wait for him to complete his work, the task of determining whether the data they are all hoping will be here in the decrepit installation is anything other than dull for Nirav 74 himself. Having the habit of narrating his work, as much to himself as for any possible interested listeners, Nirav 74 chatters as he works, affording some insight into what he does.
Nirav's first bit of running commentary, more a dismayed exclamation than anything, is a string of curses followed by the revelation that, ::We're not the first ones to have been here since it was abandoned. Last visitor was a bit of a prick, left a nasty virus behind, he mutters, leaning forward intently as his fingers begin flying across the keypad of his custom datapad, and observing, Good thing I have my own special programs all ready and waiting to deploy, he jabbers while taking a USB drive from a pouch and inserting it into a port on the server he has chosen to utilize. Diagnostic mode should, he says softly as though afraid the virus in question might overhear him, keep the virus from running, and then nods with a relieved sigh, so all I need to do now is find 'em and kill 'em. Search and destroy,:: he mutters, leaning forward to begin running a system scan with his antiviral program so that he can quarantine anything that looks suspicious.
After a great deal of Nirav's dismayed or excited muttering, including references to corrupted partitions, his brilliant and mighty data recovery programs, update rates, and various other bits and pieces of jargon that may or may not mean anything to his audience, if any such audience exists, the Khommite clone lifts his hands into the air and exclaims, ::It's here!!! Oh yeah, we now have the plans for the Knight Hammer!! Pointing both index fingers at the server he had utilized, Nirav asks, Who's your daddy?::
No shit? Nicolina, stepping closer to Nirav as he celebrates his apparent success, asks in commingled surprise and incredulity, the longer the wait for Nirav to finish his task having gone on the less likely it had seemed to her that they would actually be able to find and retrieve the plans for the Executor-class Star Dreadnought.
::No shit,:: Nirav answers, sounding more than a little surprised himself.

Almost as relieved as she is horrified when, as soon as Nirav announces his success, her unspoken question is at last answered, the uncertainty and unease Faina had felt both banished as Shura ceases to twirl her lightsaber hilt and, after exchanging a glance with Jaska that is answered with a nod, ignites the weapon with a snap hiss that is echoed almost instantly by the sounds of other lightsabers igniting around the server room, Faina unhooks her own hilt and, stepping back so that her back is to the wall, surveys the silver lit scene that has unfolded.
Macario, Faina notes with some small relief, appears utterly surprised at the sudden turn in events that includes finding Lanfen's silver hued lightsaber blade humming sinisterly just in front of his neck, caught completely off guard as the other Imperial Knights reveal with no room for doubt that they have come with an agenda of their own; if nothing else, Faina knows that Macario is not a part of whatever agenda the traitorous Imperial Knights kept hidden until now.
Shura holds the tip of her lightsaber at the back of Nirav's neck, icily telling the slicer, "Don't move. Set your gear down, stand up, and then back slowly towards the wall."
Jaska levels his lightsaber threateningly at Nicolina's chest, at the level of her heart, shaking his head to silently forbid her from moving, while Xiulan covers the scout troopers with her blade.
Macario, looking past Lanfen to Jaska, asks in a bewildered tone, "What is this?"
Keeping his attention on Nicolina, Jaska answers, "The long overdue end of willful blindness. Addressing Nicolina, Jaska lies convincingly, Tell your troopers to stand down, and you will all be unharmed. To Macario and Faina, Jaska pleads sincerely, You can come with us. You must see, as we have, that the First Order has succumbed to the influence of the Dark Side, and must be destroyed. Surely you have seen it, felt it. The Supreme Commander surrounds himself with Sith, Knights of Ren, and other Dark Siders that taint and pervert all that they touch, as they always do, as they can only and always inevitably do. You both know this. We have failed Delvardus, he is lost, but we can at least deny him and those who have corrupted him these plans, and can escape from the taint continuing to serve him and his allies brings upon us."
Watching Macario, his expression conflicted, Faina sees that she has not been alone in her doubts about the change in the First Order, and is surprised to find that, instead of the struggle and uncertainty she would have thought Jaska's accusations would bring, she feels only the eerily comforting calm that fills her before the beginning of a battle, the sense that she stands with one foot hanging over some invisible line beyond which the welcoming certainty battle brings her waits to take her up and claim her, where right and wrong, good and evil, doubt and fear all leave her and only the bright, cleansing desire to stand against whatever foes stand between her and her purpose remains. Though she has entertained the same doubts and fears that Jaska expresses now, Faina finds herself thinking of what Nicademus had said to her on Nirauan, and his certainty then, along with her belief in him and his vision, combine within her to dispel, if only for now, her uncertainties; she has been entrusted by the Supreme Commander to be his instrument, and Faina will not betray him now. Her prosthetic hand clasps her lightsaber hilt more firmly, thumb resting on the activation lever as she waits for the moment to step over the invisible line dividing the stillness of the present moment and the flurry of the battle she is certain the next moment will bring.

The mission goes off the rails in the blink of an eye, and despite Jaska's claim that no one needs to die Nicolina has the distinct feeling that not only were she and her Shadowtroopers not ever meant to make it out of the derelict installation, but also that Faina and Macario are both dead as well unless they agree to desert, betray the First Order and join the traitorous Imperial Knights.
"The long overdue end of willful blindness," Jaska says, his voice sounding to Nicolina as though it comes from a great distance as her focus shifts to tactically assessing the unexpected development.
Jaska's decision to make a little speech gives Nicolina a few seconds to assess the situation with an eye on trying to find some way to extricate herself and her troops from it, and she figures she may get a few more during the wait for Faina and Macario to reply. Best case scenario, Nicolina thinks, her eyes flitting around the room to mark where everyone is while her mind races to think of the best way to deal with it without unduly risking any of her troops, Faina or Macario stall the traitors by arguing the point about the First Order being corrupted by the Dark Side, giving Nicolina more time to plan. Neither Faina or Macario, Nicolina observes in her rapid assessment of the room, look particularly tempted, and in her experience neither are big talkers either, and so waiting for more time she might not get could be a really bad idea.
". . . corrupted him these plans, and can escape . . ." Jaska says, Nicolina tuning back in more than before as his tone and posture indicate he is wrapping up his sales pitch to Faina and Macario. With the attention of all the traitors shifting to Faina and Macario to hear if they will be joining the deserters, Nicolina figures the end of Jaska's sales presentation may be the best chance she and her troops have to make it out alive, and so she uses the specific eye movements required to switch her helmet's external speakers off so that she can address her troops without being overheard and simply hisses, Now!!
Nicolina, her blaster rifle held in front of her in a patrol ready carry, swings the blaster violently upward and out on a diagonal to her right while lunging forward to try and strike Jaska's elbow and knock his arm upward, the pivoting of her chest as she makes the swing taking her heart out of danger of being pierced, if only temporarily.
Nirav 74 knows that the odds are against him given a Force user's typically enhanced speed and reflexes, but intends to go down swinging all the same, and so, having set his gear down and stood up just as he had been instructed by Shura, tries to duck quickly beneath the lightsaber at the back of his neck while simultaneously drawing his SE-14r sidearm from his right hip so that he can turn at the waist and fire at the Imperial Knight.
Gerou and Grahn, having worked as a team for years, react to Nicolina's shout with their usual effortless coordination, even without the opportunity to plan their thoughts ensuring that they are on the same page. Gerou, stepping back and to the side so that, with Grahn mirroring him, he and his fellow Scout Trooper are back to back, fires a quick, precisely aimed shot for the center Xiulan's forehead. Grahn, her E-11 sniper rifle barking almost in unison with Gerou's, fires a surgically precise shot for the back of Shura's head . . .
