Royal Palace - Present Day
Enitan puts one arm around Vejide's waist while lifting the other to gently stroke the nape of her neck, smiling as he asks huskily, "Oh, do tell? Dancing close to her slowly, the King glances upwards as though in thought while saying in a playful tone, You know, I have the feeling that these intriguing other things you have in mind require that we retire to someplace more . . . comfortable. Am I right?"
Lifting a hand as she shakes her head, Makena declines the offer of a drink, "No thank you. Perhaps later. Reaching over to pat Fumnanya's hand, she smiles and says warmly and sincerely, I am glad to hear that he's doing better. Such a shame that his last time here ended so. Looking over her shoulder towards where Enitan and Vejide are dancing together when Fumnanya asks how she and her husband are doing, Makena smiles as she says, We have been very well, thank you. Knowing that most species do not understand the common Zeltron views on commitment, and not failing to correctly guess the intent of Fumnanya's question, Makena says, He and Vejide do seem to enjoy one another's company, yes. Looking back towards Fumnanya, she smiles and assures him, I am not upset that he finds pleasure with others, if you are worried that I might find their enjoyment threatening. Enitan and I do not find it necessary to deny one another opportunities to . . . enjoy the companionship of others in order to validate what we share together. I know that some find that difficult to understand or to believe, she says with a laugh, just as I am sure that some would not understand my inability to understand why they feel it necessary to deny themselves such opportunities and experiences due to their beliefs."
Thirty years ago upon the sea . . .
Frowning in playfully theatrical disappointment when Thalassa declines his offer, the Zeltron quips with a sly grin, "You could just lay back and let me take care of everything, you know? Chuckling with a shake of his head, able to tell that their guest has other things on her mind, the Zeltron points towards a chest of drawers beside the bed and says, Your clothing is still being dried, so you can help yourself anything in the dresser or closet. With an apologetic shrug, he explains, We've nothing fancy like those robes of yours, I'm afraid, but it will be warm and dry. It will not be as lovely, he says with a grin, as the sight of you wound in those sheets however. His expression becomes a bit more serious than it has been as he says, As for your weapon, our captain has it safe and sound, don't you worry. He'll return it to you in due time. Just, he adds with a questioning tilt of his head, as he'll return our other guest's lightsaber to him. Lifting his hands, he says, We know what a red lightsaber usually means, so I hope you understand why we ask that you keep yourself to your quarters until we dock and sort a few things out."

Royal Palace - Present Day
Stopping their dance but keeping hold of Enitan's hand, Vejide begins to walk backwards, leading him from the dance floor as she nods with a mischievous smile and confirms, "You are absolutely right, Your Highness. I am sure that you will be able to lead me to the perfect comfortable, private spot too. Spinning so that Enitan and she exchange places and he is left in the lead rather than she, Vejide bids him eagerly, So lead away already."
Joining the Queen as she laughs, Fumnanya admits, "It is a little hard to understand at that. After taking a sip of his drink, Fumnanya says, Cultural thing, like you said. Well, he says after considering the fact that even some non-Zeltrons of many species espouse similar views where monogamy is concerned to those Enitan and Makena appear to hold, sometimes anyway. Not exactly accustomed to conversing with royalty, Fumnanya takes a moment to think of something to keep things flowing, eventually asking, So, how long have you and the King been together?"

Thirty years ago upon the sea . . .
All traces of expression bleed from her pale, angular features as Thalassa listens to what the Zeltron says; the knowledge that the crew is aware of the likelihood she is affiliated with the Dark Side relieving her of the irksome burden of pretending to be anything other than what she is. Still, Thalassa thinks while weighing the merits of resorting to aggression against a more subtle approach, there may be some benefit in allowing the crew to believe, for now, that she will allow herself to be confined if it means she increases her chances of finding the Jedi fate has brought so tantalizing close.
Smiling to appear harmless and as though she intends to abide with the conditions set by the crew's captain, Thalassa says, "Oh, of course I understand completely. Sitting demurely on the edge of the bed to illustrate an intent to stay in the quarters she has been provided even though she has other plans, Thalassa adds, Tell your captain I shall be ever so quiet and compliant. Stretching her arms overhead and faking yawn convincingly, Thalassa says, I believe I will probably just sleep the whole time," while mentally stretching her awareness of the Force outwards in an effort to determine where the other living beings aboard the ship are in relation to her, especially the Force sensitive one she believes is the foe she intends to find and slay just as soon as she is left alone and can escape the room the crew's captain foolishly believes she can be confined to.
Royal Palace, present day . . .
It took time, credits, and patience, but in the end their employer had managed to arrange for the Clawdite and Shi'ido to, adopting the forms of a male and female Zeltron, secure an invitation to one of the many galas so conveniently often held at the Royal Palace. Once inside the Palace, the pair of uniquely skilled, and quite expensive, mercenaries had stealthily killed two members of Palace security, and after concealing the bodies carefully had then taken their place, allowing them to more even more freely about in the Palace.
Biding their time, the pair had watched and waited for a chance just like the one that the King's apparent dalliance with a humanoid female presented. Nodding to the Clawdite, the Shi'ido began making his way through the merry revelers towards where Enitan and Vejide were making their own way away from the crowds. The Clawdite moves behind Enitan, unholstering his blaster and pressing it into the King's side, with the Shi'ido doing the same to Vejide, and says in a hushed, firm tone both the King and his companion will be able to hear, "Stay calm and quiet, Your Highness, and you and the girl won't be hurt. Try anything, and you both die. Glancing towards Vejide to include her, the Clawdite says, Nod if you understand."

Vejide tenses up after almost jumping when she feels the blaster pressing into her side, her immediate instinct being to fight despite the odds given her occasionally volatile temperament. It is only the fact that her disobedience would endanger Enitan, the King's prowess in a fight an unknown variable, and Vejide's affection for him arguing against a course of action that involves starting out at such a disadvantage. Nodding to communicate to their captors her compliance, at least for the time being, Vejide surreptitiously glances around to see if she might be able to capture Fumnanya's attention in the hopes of silently communicating her predicament to him, her hopes dashed when she sees that her captain is focused on the Queen.
Keeping still as asked, Vejide determines to watch her captors carefully for any lapse in their attention that she might exploit, and waits to learn what the two have planned for the next stage of their plan.

As Thalassa employs her unique gifts, the Zeltron crew member, Wenyan, brings his own to bear and tries to use his telepathic ability to glean a sense of whether or not the ship's surprise guest intends to be as cooperative as she claims. Smiling charmingly while trying to get a read on Thalassa's intentions, Wenyan tells her, "The storm might make the sleeping difficult, but I guess you might just have been tired enough by your ordeal that you manage it all the same."
Thalassa will be able to sense that half of the crew are on the deck, securing the ship against the storm and seeing to other tasks, with the remaining three crew members and the Force sensitive being she had sensed earlier below decks or on the bridge of the ship. The Force sensitive being can be sensed on the same deck as Thalassa, further down the corridor aft of her cabin.
Royal Palace - Present Day
Enitan, looking more puzzled than concerned at first, frowns after the being that has a blaster pressed into his side finishes speaking. Were it not for Vejide's presence, Enitan might have risked something more bold than timid compliance, but as he has no wish to see the lovely Lorrdian harmed, only nods to confirm his capitulation. Turning to a more subtle means of attempting to extricate himself and Vejide from danger, Enitan begins releasing the pheromones his species is well known for possessing, hoping to endear himself to their captors enough to make it possible they will let their guard down as he says quietly and with no attempt to call attention to their predicament, "Why don't you tell me what this is about? What do you want? I am sure that we can work this out without any unpleasantness."

Thirty years ago on the sea . . .
Thalassa smiles sleepily with a nod of her head as she says, "I feel quite certain I'll manage to sleep, storm or no storm. As with many who are telepathically gifted in one way or another, Thalassa has learned to erect mental barriers around her to mind to make glimpsing her true thoughts and intentions difficult at best; though she also spends no effort in constructing any elaborate screens as some do, and so Wenyan will find no swirling illusory thoughts of the mundane or harmless variety to sift through, merely smooth, all but unassailable blank walls that conceal what lays beyond them. Turning to tacitly dismiss Wenyan, Thalassa lifts a hand in a lazy wave as she walks towards the bed and says, I'm sure we'll meet again. Ta ta for now."
Royal Palace, present day . . .
The Clawdite merely nods when both the King and his little pet do as asked. Lifting an index finger in warning in front of Enitan's face, he warns the King, "Don't try to use your Zeltron pheromones either, your highness. I start thinking of you as anything other than my hostage, start having the faintest hint of the warm and fuzzies for you, and you and your pet here are crispy critters. The Clawdite's threat is not entirely idle; their mission was one he and his fellow kidnapper were extensively prepped for, including exposure to Zeltron's pheromonal and telepathic manipulation to build their defenses against such abilities. Now, the Clawdite says as he prods the King into motion, let's all move nice and quick and calm to the hangar, shall we?"

Vejide bites the inside of her cheek as she half listens to the exchange between Enitan and their captors, her mind racing to try and come up with a strategy to extricate herself and the King from the situation that they are in before they are herded to the hangar, where she assumes they will be spirited away to who knows where. Everyone knows that leaving the scene of an abduction is essentially a death sentence, though Vejide takes some small comfort in the fact that their kidnappers seem intent on taking them alive.
Scanning the crowded room, Vejide spots Fumnanya talking with the Queen and tries to catch his eye, hoping that she might be able to silently convey her distress to him through her gaze alone. Feeling a rise of hope as her captain looks towards her, Vejide holds her breath as she watches intently for some sign that Fumnanya recognizes that she and the King are in danger.
Unfortunately for Vejide and Enitan, Fumnanya is more focused on his conversation with Makena than anything else, and when he briefly catches sight of Vejide and the King he assumes that they are heading off to have some private time together, and so simply waves with an amused smirk before returning his attention fully to Makena, repeating his earlier question by asking her, "How long have you and the King been together? How did the two of you meet?"

Thirty years ago upon the sea . . .
Wenyan studies Thalassa's face, her thoughts and emotions proving to be unreadable to him. Her expression ultimately revealing as little as her thoughts, Wenyan smiles with a nod and opens his mouth to say something that is ultimately drowned out by the sound of an explosion somewhere aft of their position that rocks the ship violently.
Using the wall to steady himself, eyes wide in mounting panic, Wenyan says, "That wasn't the sea, or the storm, and then appears to collect himself as he tells Thalassa, Stay in your room," before closing her door and running towards where the sound of the explosion came from as alarms begin to blare inside the ship and the faint yelling of the crew comes from above decks.
Above decks, lashed by waves and torrents of rain from the storm raging upon the sea, several of Wenyan's fellow crew members search the sea for the source of the blast that rocked their ship while others rush to see if the explosion has damaged their hull enough that their is a threat of sinking. One of the crew members on the deck, shielding his eyes with a hand, spots a ship through the sheets of rain, and yells out for the others to get down as he sees the flash of another laser cannon being fired.
The second shot hits the bridge of the ship, killing the captain instantly. A third blast cripples their engines, leaving them easy prey for the other ship that begins to approach them and which would appear to be, and in fact is, intent on piracy of some kind . . .
Royal Palace - Present Day
Enitan, immediately ceasing his efforts to utilize his pheromones on their captors, nods with a grim expression when informed the plan is to get them to the hangar. Moving without resistance or attempts to draw attention to their plight, Enitan allows himself to be led towards the hangar for the time being; his mind racing all the while to come up with a plan that offers at least a slim chance of getting Vejide and himself out of their predicament.
The hangar, devoid of other guests that could be harmed by a scuffle with their kidnappers, Enitan concludes, may be the last chance to try an escape; Vejide's profession, he assumes, suggests that she may be no stranger to violence, and may therefore not be in as much need of protection as one might think. Every step closer to the hangar narrowing the time they have to act, Enitan glances towards Vejide and uses his telepathic talent to try and glean something of her thoughts, emotions, and intentions to gauge whether or not she, like he, is considering risking an escape attempt. . .

As they are led to the hangar, Vejide subtly lets her purse drop to the ground just outside the doors opening into it, hoping that Fumnanya will come to the conclusion that something is amiss. It is, she believes, the best chance she has of letting her captain know that something has happened. Seeing Enitan's look, Vejide bites the inside of her cheek as she considers the option of making some kind of stand. Taking into account the armor and weapons their captors have, and the thoroughness and professionalism both have displayed in their actions so far, Vejide shakes her head slightly to communicate she thinks their best play at the moment is to cooperate. Taking their captors at their word when they say that they will not be harmed if they cooperate may not be wise, Vejide knows, but for now it seems the wiser choice.
Fumnanya, having seen how Vejide and Enitan had gotten along the last time they were together, is not immediately concerned when the duo seem to have disappeared; the logical conclusion to draw being that they have gone away for a romantic interlude. Content for the moment to enjoy his drink and conversation with the Queen, Fumnanya, for now, remains unfortunately unaware of the plight his mechanic has found herself in with the KIng.

Thirty years ago on the sea . . .
Thalassa nods when instructed to stay in her room, her expression having become a blank and unreadable one after the first explosion. Waiting a moment after the Zeltron has left, Thalassa moves towards the door and, after listening with her ear to it while also stretching her awareness of the Force outwards to try and gain a sense of where any living beings are in relation to her position, pulls it open.
Staggering as the second explosion shakes the ship, feeling the lives it snuffs out in the Force, Thalassa frowns as she steadies herself with a hand against the wall and debates whether she is best served by continuing on her mission to find and slay the Jedi, or by learning whether or not she can aid the crew stand against those attacking the ship. The right corner of her lips curls upwards as she decides she has time enough to deal first with the Jedi, especially given that the crew is sure to be focused on the unexpected attack. Her fists clenching at her sides, Thalassa stalks down the hall towards the room she can sense the Jedi's sickeningly Light sided aura emanating from.
Opening the door, Thalassa begins gathering the Force to her as she steps inside and looks at the Jedi to see how wounded he is . . .
Royal Palace hangar, present day . . .
Once their captives have been herded aboard their ship, the Clawdite tells his Shi'ido companion, "Take them aft and secure them. I'll get us up and away."
As the Clawdite, maintaining the form of a male Zeltron for the time being, makes his way up to the cockpit, the female Shi'ido, able to change forms without the discomfort a Clawdite experiences, shifts shape from a Zeltron female to that of a nondescript human male with black hair, and waves her blaster pistol aft as she says, "Let's go, Your Highness. Arriving at the door to a small room that has been stripped of all furnishings save for a bed, the Shi'ido, named Wachiwi, nods for the King and his consort to step inside, saying, Just keep cooperating, Your Highness, and this will all be over soon."

Thirty years ago upon the sea . . .
Berengar, having been thrown from the bed onto the floor by one of the explosions that rocked the small vessel violently, took a moment to get oriented to where he was and for his memories from being adrift on the ocean to fill in the events leading him to where he is presently. Dressed in a pair of loose fitting pants he assumes he was given by the Zeltron crew he vaguely recalls having rescued him, Berengar runs a hand through his short, brown tousled hair after standing, looking around the small cabin his is in for his lightsaber hilt.
Berengar has just spotted his lighstaber on the nightstand on the opposite side of the bed from where he fell when the door to his cabin opens. Looking towards the door, Berengar's lip curls upwards in anger as he sees Thalassa. Coiling to spring over the bed to get his lightsaber, Bernegar is thrown to the ground once more when another explosion erupts from above decks, sending a shock wave through the ship . . .
Royal Palace - Present Day
Makena excuses herself from Fumnanya after conversing with him for a while, circulating for a time among her other guests to ensure that all are entertained and enjoying themselves. It has been a few hours when it begins to feel to her as though her husband and Fumnanya's crew member have been gone longer than she would have thought, and yet Makena initially sets the vague sense of foundationless disquiet she feels welling up within her aside as unseemly and unnecessary; perhaps, she suggests to herself Enitan and his latest lover have found other ways to occupy themselves than rejoining the party.
As the party goes on into the early morning hours with no sign of her husband or Vejide, Makena's disquiet grows and grows until at last she asks some of the palace guards to see if they can locate their King and his guest. Telling herself that there still no reason to panic when the guards return with the news that the King does not appear to be in the palace, Makena finds Fumnanya, doing her best to sound cheerful and amused as she asks him, "You have not perhaps received word from dear Vejide that she and my husband have decided to do a bit of traveling, have you? It seems, she adds with the first hint of her true feelings beginning to creep into her voice, they have left the palace without telling our guards."
Kidnapper's ship, in the air - Present Day
"Jolly good! Enitan says cheerfully as they are herded into a cabin. We'll be no bother to you, he says while putting an arm protectively around Vejide's shoulders in part to ensure that she does not allow her fiery disposition to flare up and threaten the somewhat delicate position they have found themselves in. I don't suppose, he asks just as cheerfully and with a crinkling of his brow to signal he is aware of the fact his question might not be welcome and will not be pushing the matter if it not well received, whatever it is you and your friend are about requires filling me in on what this is about, does it? Lifting his free hand, Enitan says with a smile, If all that's required of me, on the other hand, is that I stay in here and keep out of your way, I can and will do just that, I assure you."

Royal Palace
Drinking too much has always made Fumnanya melancholy, not even the festive atmosphere and diligent attention to making sure that visitors are kept happy prevalent in the palace as much, if not more so, as it is elsewhere on Zeltros able to prevent him from succumbing to the old pains that haunt him; living longer than most beings no protection against the slings and arrows of misfortune that plague all, and which, if anything, become increasingly difficult to evade the longer one lives. When Makena finds him, nursing a whiskey while looking far from sober and far from festive, Fumnanya welcomes the distraction her presence offers from his trip down memory lane and the ghosts the trip invites; one ghost in particular that haunts him more often and more painfully than others.
Blinking blearily as he pushes his drink away, something in Makena's eyes or tone betraying that she is more concerned than her attempt to seem light and airy suggests, Fumnanya shakes his head, "No, I haven't heard from her since they . . . he waves a hand vaguely to indicate their earlier departure to indulge whatever it is that they have found in one another, not wanting to spell it out even though he knows that Makena is not perturbed by her husband's dalliance with his crew member. Steadying himself before standing, he tries to shake off the alcohol induced cobwebs as he asks, Any place you can think of they might have gone in particular? If you have a ship, I can pilot us."
Kidnapper's ship
Keeping herself calm and collected as possible, Vejide pays close attention to the ship's layout, other crew members, and other details such as the presence of any weapons of opportunity as they are led to a cabin, remaining silent as Enitan speaks with one of their captors. Keeping her expression neutral, Vejide mentally curses as she reminds herself once more that she needs to be mindful of the fact that any wrong word or move she makes endangers the King as well as herself; while she might have made a play by now were it only her skin at stake, Enitan's presence is making her more cautious and conservative than her temperament usually allows her to be, which may not be a bad thing.
Being underestimated is never a bad thing, and so Vejide plays up the helpless damsel angle, moving closer to Enitan when he puts an arm around her shoulders. For now, Vejide tells herself, the best thing she can do is stay quiet and alert.

Thirty years ago on the sea . . .
Thalassa bares her teeth in a vicious, feral smile when she sees the anger in Berengar's expression when they are facing one another. The taunt about a Jedi needing to guard against such anger that Thalassa opens her mouth to make is never voiced, the explosion that violently rocks the vessel altering her priority to staying on her feet, though her feral smile lingers all the while as she puts her left hand out against the cabin wall to steady herself.
Lifting her right hand and telekinetically summoning Berengar's lightsaber hilt to her waiting palm, Thalassa ignites the blade as soon as her fingers curl around the hilt, her grin widening as, with the saber's humming sounding forth its song, she sees the Jedi lose his footing and fall. Leaping forward, Thalassa twirls the lightsaber hilt nimbly in her hand as she lifts it overhead to reverse her grip so that the emitter is facing downwards when, her leap carrying swiftly her to the Jedi, she plunges it down towards the center of his chest or back depending on how he has fallen . . . .
Kidnapper's ship, in the air - Present Day
"That's good, your Highness, Wachiwi says, nearly permitting an amused smile to accompany her almost smug tone, 'cause that is exactly what is required of you, she glances pointedly at Vejide, and your friend here." Without explaining anything further, Wachiwi exits the cabin, locking the door after she is outside.
Leaning against the wall beside the cabin's door, Wachiwi holsters her blaster pistol, keeping the flap open so that she can draw it easily if needed. The journey to where the King will learn why he has been taken captive will be relatively short, but their employer was very specific about the consequences of allowing Enitan to escape, so Wachiwi has been tasked with standing watch over the cabin even though the possibility of escaping from it is remote at best.

Thirty years ago upon the sea . . .
Berengar's fall leaves him laying on his back, and he shakes his head to clear it in time to see that Thalassa is descending rapidly towards him with his own lightsaber pointing towards his heart. Oddly enough, Berengar feels no fear, even his earlier anger leaving him as he imagines that he can hear his former Master's voice in his head lecturing him about the dangers of allowing one's emotions to become distractions, and feels instead only a sense of surrendering himself to the Force, of giving himself over unto It. Without conscious of making the decision to act, time seeming to him to slow to a crawl, Berengar lifts an arm, palm outstretched towards the Sith who appears to be floating gently down towards him rather than hurtling inexorably down to deliver a killing blow. Feeling the Force around and within him, filling him with a sense of strength and surety, Berengar casts a powerful Force push outwards in hopes of slamming Thalassa into the ceiling. After the Force push is expelled, Berengar acrobatically executes a flip that takes him from laying on his back to standing on his feet in a defensive stance facing his opponent . . .
Above decks, the storm rages on as the surviving crew members see the ship that has crippled their vessel pull alongside them, lines springing forth from the enemy ship to bind their vessels together. . .
Royal Palace - Present Day
Makena does her best to appear unconcerned by the news that Fumnanya has not been in contact with Vejide, a fact which makes the icy sense of dread she has felt ever since the palace guards had informed her that Enitan does not seem to be anywhere in the palace grow within her. Shaking her head when Fumnanya asks if she can think of anywhere Enitan might have taken Vejide, Makena says as steadily as she is able, her tone slightly distracted and distant as she tries to begin thinking of what actions she should begin taking, "No, and Enitan would not have left the palace without informing the guard in any event. Her smile more confused than anything as she considers all that Fumnanya had said, Makena suggests, I think the palace guard is best equipped to handle any search, Fumnanya. Thinking that there may be other options to consider, Makena purses her lips in thought as she says as though speaking aloud, Though maybe, in this instance, it might be best to call upon some old friends instead . . . Still undecided after a pause, Makena summons a smile that is not very convincing as she says, Or maybe it is best not to jump to any conclusions just yet. Vejide did not have a comlink with her by any chance, did she?"
Kidnapper's ship, in the air - Present Day
Nodding his understanding, Enitan smiles chipperly and even waves as their captor leaves the cabin. Turning to offer Vejide a sheepish smile once they are left alone, Enitan says, "I'm terribly sorry about this, dear one. It isn't quite the sort of excitement I had in mind, he jokes as he rubs his neck with a hand while scanning the cabin's layout thoughtfully. Chuckling inwardly at the absurdity of considering trying to escape despite the dangers, Enitan says, On the bright side, I don't sense anything in our captors suggesting their claims of cooperation being a guarantee of our safety is concerned. Sitting down on the bed and patting the mattress beside him, Enitan says, So I suggest we make ourselves comfortable and keep ourselves unobtrusive while our captors do whatever it is they are set on doing. With any luck, we'll be back to the palace in no time at all," he concludes in a hopeful tone he tries to make sound as believable as possible.

Palace
Frowning, resting his chin upon his hand as he takes in what Makena says, Fumnanya cannot help but feel his sense of unease and concern for Vejide increase; despite the Queen's suggestion that they may be leaping to conclusions before they have any evidence that something is amiss, Fumnanya finds himself doing just that. Nodding when asked if Vejide has a comlink, Fumnanya says, "She should have it," and then holds up a finger as he uses his comlink to try and reach his crewmember.
Shaking his head after it is clear that Vejide won't be answering her comlink anytime soon, Fumnanya says, "Doesn't mean anything, with a sheepish grin meant to be reassuring even though he has already more or less decided that his crewmember is in danger of some kind, They might just be, er. otherwise engaged. Remembering the Queen's mention of old friends, Fumnanya asks, So, uh, who are the old friends you mentioned? Venturing a guess, he asks, Trackers or investigators of some kind?"
Ship
Vejide stays huddled at Enitan's side as though in fear until their captor leaves them locked in the cabin, her expression immediately becoming irritated once they are alone and she no longer needs to act. Nodding here and there as Enitan speaks, Vejide scrutinizes their surroundings once more even though she imagines that the odds of anything having been left in the cabin that could be useful was removed.
Arching an eyebrow skeptically when the King concludes by suggesting they will be safe and sound back in the palace soon, Vejide says unconvincingly, "I sure hope so Your Highness. Dropping onto the bed beside Enitan with a frustrated sigh, Vejide rests her head in her hands as she asks, Are there any reasons you can think of these goons might have for grabbing us? Any, I don't know, political rivals or old enemies who might be making a return appearance?"

Thirty years ago on the sea . . .
The Jedi's reaction to her attack too swift to be avoided, Thalassa is sent hurtling upwards, slamming painfully into the ceiling, the back of her head bleeding as she drops back to the floor of the cabin.
Landing in an unsteady crouch, dizzy from the blow to the back of her head, Thalassa's lips curl back from her teeth as she faces Berengar with his own lightsaber humming softly as she holds it out to her right side as she draws on the Force in preparation of renewing her attack with the great speed and strength that are hers to command. Not wanting to give the Jedi long to recover or launch an offensive of his own, Thalassa ignores all else transpiring on the embattled vessel and bolts towards him with Force assisted speed, swinging the lightsaber up in a diagonal blow meant to cleave Berengar from his left hip to right shoulder . . .
Kidnapper's ship, in the air - Present Day
The ship sails over the city, leaving the Royal Palace further and further behind as it turns onto a course that will take it deep into the forest west of the capital city. In hopes of evading any pursuit by avoiding sensor detection, the ship's pilot hugs the terrain as closely as possible once away from the city, activating the ship's cloaking field to further deter detection . . .

Royal Palace - Present Day
Despite Fumnanya's attempts to reassure her, Makena feels the sense of dread that had set root within when they had first learned that Enitan and Vejide were no longer in the palace tighten its grip on her when there is no response to Fumnanya's transmission to his missing crew member. Smiling halfheartedly when Fumnanya suggests one of the more likely reasons that Vejide had not answered the hail, Makena answers his question about her friends somewhat distractedly, "Something like that, yes."
Hearing the sounds of footsteps approaching, Makena turns as a palace guardsman comes towards her and Fumnanya. Motioning for Fumnanya to come with her, almost dreading what news the guardsman bears, Makena asks if any trace of the King or his guest has been found. The guardsman then reports that a purse determined to belong to Vejide was found outside of the hangar, and that security cam footage of the hangar and other areas in the palace is being viewed to see if the King's movements can be traced. Once the guardsman has left, Makena exchanges a worried look with Fumnanya before saying, "I think it's time I contact my old friends. I fear something terrible has happened."
With Fumnanya accompanying her, Makena heads for the security room where the camera footage can be viewed, making a brief comm transmission along the way. As they arrive and are admitted to the security center, Makena says, "My friends will be here shortly. Let us hope that something on the footage gives them a clue to follow."
Thirty years ago upon the sea . . .
Berengar, rather than retreating from Thalassa as she charges, tries to eliminate some of the advantage she has gained by securing possession of the only weapon present by darts forward to meet her instead. Trusting his instincts as well as the Force to lend him the swiftness, strength, and precise timing required for the strategy that comes to him as the distance closes between him and his opponent, Berengar launches his left hand rapidly down as Thalassa swings the lightsaber upwards to try and strike him down. Aiming for Thalassa's wrist, Berengar hopes to catch it in his left hand, locking her wrist if successful so that she cannot alter the angle of the lightsaber's blade to wound or maim him. At the same time as he tries to grab Thalassa's wrist, Bernegar throws a vicious punch with his right fist out towards the bridge of Thalassa's nose . . .
Kidnapper's ship, in the air - Present Day
Frowning as he considers the possibilities posed by Vejide's question about political rivals or other candidates with a motive for their kidnapping, Enitan is quiet for a moment before he finally says, "No one leaps out. I have political rivals, of course, anyone in my position would, but . . . he gestures around at the room, no one that I can think of that would go to measures such as this."
There will be no sign of pursuit on the ship's sensors; for the moment they appear to have gotten away without a trace . . .

Palace
Gathering from what the Queen says, and does not say, about the friends that she has mentioned may be of help in locating the King and Vejide that he will just have to wait until they show up to learn who they are and why Makena believes that they will be able to help, Fumnanya does not press for any details, instead following as they are led to where the security footage can be viewed.
"Start with the hangars," Fumnanya suggests when they arrive, the fact that Vejide's purse was found outside them meaning that they know of at least one place they are sure to see his missing crew member, hopefully accompanied by Enitan and whoever has abducted them. As he waits for the appropriate footage to be brought up, Fumnanya uses his comlink to contact his crew to make them aware of what has happened, giving Dikeledi tacit permission to take any action she might deem helpful in tracking Vejide and Enitan even though he imagines that Makena might prefer that her mysterious friends and palace guards handle the situation without any outside interference.
Ship
"Not very helpful, Vejide sighs when Enitan fails to come up with any likely suspects for the mastermind behind their abduction. Standing up from the bed, her frustration with the situation escalating once more, Vejide paces the room they have been confined to as she asks rhetorically, Where are they taking us? Why the big mystery about what the fracking frell they want from you?"

Thirty years ago on the sea . . .
Hissing in fury as the Jedi snatches her wrist, preventing her from completing her strike or moving the lightsaber enough in any direction to injure her opponent, Thalassa tries to dodge the punch thrown for her nose but it proves too fast or she too slow, and the blow lands painfully, obscuring her vision with tears of pain.
Growling, baring her teeth in fury, Thalassa whips her forehead forward to send a head-butt for Berengar's nose, so caught up in the battle with her foe that she fails to note the arrival of six members of the pirate crew, armed with blasters or slug throwers and vibro-cutlasses or vibro-axes, that have seized the ship which pulled her and Berengar from the sea.
The leader of the pirate boarding party - a female Zabrak dressed in red hued clothing and with pale orange tinted skin, ivory colored cranial horns, and black facial and body tattoos - laughs as she sees that the occupants of the room are fighting among themselves as the rest of the captured vessel's crew fight against her fellow pirates, and lifts her blaster as she whistles to get the attention of the fools fighting one another and, a pair of slug throwers held out and clearly aimed at the battling duo just as those of her, says, "All right, backs against the wall with your hands in the air if you want to keep breathing, lovebirds!"
Kidnapper's ship, a remote island on the sea - Present Day
After the ship has set down, Enitan and Vejide are manhandled from the cabin they had been confined to, and then down the boarding ramp.
Waiting for Enitan and Vejide at the foot of the boarding ramp is an aged, pale orange skinned male Zabrak with a vibrant, vital air and muscular build despite his advanced age. The Zabrak glances at Vejide dismissively before taking a few steps closer to Enitan with his eyes narrowed as though sizing the King up. "Not seeing it, the Zabrak sniffs after studying Enitan in silence for a moment. Not explaining the remark, the Zabrak shrugs and says, No matter. Not you or your lady friend I'm after. Pulling the vibro cutlass he wears at his side from its sheathe, the Zabrak holds the blade up as though to inspect it as he says, Going to need you to help me arrange a reunion with some old . . . friends of mine who I hear are friends of your now, Your Highness. Taking a step back and to the side, the Zabrak levels the tip of the cutlass at Vejide's neck as he asks Enitan, You can help me reunite with dear ol' Thalassa and Berengar, can't you, Your Highness?"

Royal Palace - Present Day
Nodding when Fumnanya suggests that beginning the search through the security footage should begin with outside and in the hangar bay, Makena rests her chin atop her right hand while the palace security officer brings up the footage in question. After a short while, the King and Vejide are seen in the footage, escorted by what appear to be palace guardsmen into the hanger. Frowning pensively when, by zooming in enough and freezing the footage, it can be seen that the guardsmen have blasters pressed into Enitan's and Vejide's backs. Though the fact that Vejide had left her purse behind suggested that their departure from the palace was not an intentional one, the undeniable proof of that fact offered by the security footage hits Makena hard, and she needs to sit as the rest of the footage is viewed.
The footage from inside the hangar ultimately proves to be of little value, for though the ship the King and Vejide are forced to board is one that belongs to the palace, a search for the ship using it's transponder proves futile, the kidnappers clever enough to have disabled it during their escape, and security camera footage from the city inadequate to determine even an estimated heading for the ship which, in any event, was equipped with cloaking ability.
Temporarily stymied, Makena sits and frets in silence, putting on a brave face while waiting for her friends to arrive, hoping that their unique gifts will enable them to find and rescue Enitan and Vejide.
Thirty years ago upon the sea . . .
Grunting in pain as he staggers backwards with blood pouring from his broken nose, Berengar shakes his head to try and clear it while struggling to keep on his feet, having been caught entirely off guard by Thalassa's head butt. As he prepares to continue the fight, however, the Zabrak and her comrades arrive, ordering Berengar and Thalassa to surrender to them.
Noting the number of weapons currently leveled at them, and factoring in the fact that he is exhausted to the point that concentrating enough to call on the Force would be difficult at best, Berengar concludes quickly that he would appear to have no option other than to comply for the time being, and so, sniffing and swiping at the blood dripping from his nose, backs up against the wall behind him, lifting his hands up as ordered while keeping an eye on Thalassa out of the corner of his eye to see whether or not she will also concede defeat.
Kidnapper's ship, a remote island on the sea - Present Day
It is not until the Zabrak names Berengar and Thalassa that Enitan, who had looked utterly perplexed initially, understands who the pirate is and why he has been kidnapped. "My father told me about you, and of what happened to your daughter, Enitan says, hands up as though to try and calm the Zabrak while he uses his telepathic abilities to try and subtly sway the Zabrak to remain as calm as he seems to be even while threatening Vejide with his cutlass. You have my sympathies, Enitan continues in a calm tone, and I will do everything in my power to bring Berengar and Thalassa here or wherever you want to meet them, so please, he motions downward while trying to telepathically sway the Zabrak to lower the cutlass, there is no need to threaten her. Tell me where you want Berngar and Thalassa to go, give me a comlink, and I will contact them immediately."
