Viz’eath sighed as the citizen approached him. He was obviously in a haze from the pheromones in the atmosphere. He decided not to act hostile. “No, actually. We are part of a military force that has landed on the planet. We were investigating the colony ship in the spaceport and found you here.” He thought for a moment. It wouldn’t pay to linger here, as they would need him back on the base. “Seeing as this isn’t a proper military installation, I will leave you in peace.” He slowly backed away, trying not to show any signs of hostility. The last thing he needed was to lose troops from an uneeded firefight. They boarded the speeder and the convoy made their way back to base. By this point, the base was nearly completed, as the final targeting systems were being put in place, turrets and hard posts were being set up on the other side. Things were almost ready for the Chiss to fully move into the base.

She was sitting on one of the balconies, enjoying her pipe & plotting how to hit the First Order first. She nearly ducked at the speeder that raced by, but managed to check the movement before it actually started. It was definitely a First Order vehicle, but she hadn't actually done anything yet. If they could read minds or locate jedi out of a crowd moving like that, then they had already lost the war anyway. She simply let it pass beneath her. The symbol wasn't the normal First Order logo though. Her mask's optics were already trying to run a match, even with it half pushed up to expose her mouth.
She took another draw & let it drift from the tip of the long stemmed pipe. The shallow bowl on the end had a small round cone suspended over it, making it look slightly like a tiny round house. Though one that was currently burning softly. The mask had needed to connect with the Tempest's systems for a positive match. Sure enough, it was a Chiss logo. She hadn't ever heard of the species before, but a quick glance into the historical records showed her they were traditional Imperial aligned, which was strange enough for a race so obviously non-human. Either way, it didn't matter to her. Human or alien, the First Order would burn alike. Still, that made at least two factions of the First Order on the planet. Three if she counted the strange Mandalorian clan selling spices. Possibly more if some of the rumors she was hearing from the big base they had made were true.

At last, the Chiss base was complete. The structure was reminiscent of Chiss architecture, with it being extremely simple, and yet elegant and not hard to look at. With docking facilities for up to a squadron of Clawcraft and Airstraekers, along with 3 shuttles, and plenty of defensive emplacements, it was a veritable fortress. In addition, the base had hydroponic facilities and water purifiers, allowing it to be self sufficient. Finally, unique to this world, the base has airlocks and decontamination arches at every entrance. Coupled with the air purification system, this would prevent the pheromones in the atmosphere from entering the base. In the event of the purification system failing, the vents would seal, and large oxygen tanks stored on a separate, smaller island would fill the base with oxygen, allowing for an evacuation to take place. The base was complete with armoires, barracks, a laboratory, and everything else needed by the occupation force.

Mary had decided on a measure of disguise. While she was normally covered from head to foot anyway, she now added a light blue shroud over the top. It was distinct enough to give the enemy something to focus on, but would be simple enough to dispose of & replace as often as needed. She had already used it several times in setting up some of the various cells. She even heard that some of them had started calling her Lady Blue. She didn't particularly care one way or the others, as long as they couldn't identify anyone outside their own cell.
She was waiting, at a table oddly enough, with several other members of the cell she was using for the first strike. The road was mostly abandoned, as it was late enough that the partying in this area had wound down & hadn't yet gotten back in gear for tomorrow. It was a few peaceful hours of quiet that happened at roughly the same time every day on this street. Other streets, of course, had slightly different time tables. The party in this city was never more than two or three streets away.
The Stormtrooper squad sauntered into view precisely on time. Or at least as precisely as anything happened on this world. Mary watched them walk right by. On another world, the group she was sitting with would have been challenged. Alone, armed, faces covered, in the middle of the night. It spelled trouble. Here, the airborne drugs hazed their senses to nearly a stupor this far into their patrol. Within a few more streets they would even start drifting away from each other. The next patrol always started by bringing the last one back to base.
Mary waited. The squad was nearly halfway to the next turn in the street when she flipped the switch. A hundred meters away & the squad suddenly vanished into a plume of fire & ruble. Within moments, her cell was to the stormtroopers. A ragged, gaping hole in one wall showing where the explosive had been hidden. The entire structure moaned as if it was one of the dying troopers. THUDD The first shot was her own. She had been very clear on that point. The voice of Gar's Tooth was unmistakable. Within a few more moments, the still stunned remaining stormtroopers joined their fallen squadmates.
They had doubtless been recorded in the actual attack, but they managed to disperse back into the city without incident. This early, Mary wanted the First Order to know they had enemies. She wanted them to know fear.

Marcos could honestly say he felt better after getting the report. Even if it had been second hand & significantly delayed. He had been somewhat tense ever since setting foot on the world. He knew, somehow, that something was going to go wrong. Badly wrong. The locals however, seemed more intent on bedding his soldiers than fighting them. Of course, it wasn't actually his soldier that took the first hit. It wasn't even a squad from one of the other Nova Battalions. Instead, it was some shiny squad from the dregs that Brega had scraped up to bolster their numbers.
Personally, losing a squad of shinies meant next to nothing to him. They weren't his boys & he didn't care. On the other hand, this had not been a precision strike. It had been well planned, but it was anything but measured. The security holos showed the explosion more or less gutting one building & heavily damaging another dozen nearby. Nearly half the block would have to be condemned & rebuilt. Of the attackers, the female in blue was the first on the scene. The first to fire. & the last to leave. Whoever she was, she was in command. Likely of the entire operation. Something about her nagged at the back of his mind. She seemed a touch familiar, but in no way that he could put into words.
Either way, he finally had something to do. Even if he was far enough down the totem pole now that he wouldn't get first crack at the bombers. He considered giving the Chiss a call. Both to see what they thought about it & to see how good their troopers actually were. Eventually, he thought it would be a nice idea to invite them over. If nothing else, to keep them in the loop.

Upon receiving the invite, the Chiss prepared a small convoy to travel to the Imperial compound. In addition, the base was locked down pending the all clear. The Chiss were nothing if not thorough. Aboard the Chariot command speeder, Viz’Eath examined the defensive plan of the base once more. Carefully noting all possible attack routes, he was lost in thought when they arrived at the massive Novatrooper base. Disembarking from the speeder wearing a breathing mask, he stood waiting for someone to take him to Marcos.

The Chiss group was greeted after a very short wait by a Novatrooper captain that introduced himself as Zeke. Along with his was a squad of ten standard novatroopers, though that was hardly the best way to describe them. Of the group, only the Captain lacked the subtle armor modifications that pointed to a clear alien biology. One even appeared to be a Talz. As far as could be told at a glance, however, the Captain was human or nearly so. It was difficult to be exactly sure under the helmet. While quiet, the captain didn't seem to be rude. In fact, he treated the Chiss as valuable personnel, paying far more attention to his surroundings for any potential threats than to his guests. Despite the fact they were in the middle of his own base. All told, it didn't take long for the group to reach the Base structure that served the 12th.
Following the chiss example, the 12th had been making some changes in their own HQ. For one, non-essential personnel had bee restricted heavily. Secondary airlocks & in unit air scrubbers were also hard at work throughout this building in the base. While a few command rooms had been cleared of the local contamination, it would take a while yet before the rest of the building would reach the same state. Once that was done, they would start to cycle more of the non-essential personnel into the HQ, requiring the use of full atmo-suits when outside its walls, even within Nova Command's greater parameter. For now though, the chiss were led through the decontamination procedures & then onward to one of the clean rooms, notably the primary control room. It was the least active of the clean rooms so it would have to do for the time being.
Once delivering his charges to the control room & pointing out the un-helmed Major, Zeke & his escort departed to attend other duties. Marcos himself was leaning over a data table showing a full readout of the attack. All of it was either superimposed on a map of the street, or hovering just above the surface in a web of holographic reports. The Major gives the chiss a moment to open up their suits if they were willing, & to study the map in either case.
-Marcos What do you make of it?

A few miles North of Vertag City, Named after a Former Governor, Located within the Northern Province of Zeltros, is the recently built Slaver's City, Qarth. The city was built and ran by Axel Drayer, a Zeltros native who until recently belonged to the Zeltros Military. In this City, Axel makes deals with some of the most wealthy underworld crime bosses as well as a few Galactic Politicians. Axel's right hand and personal bodyguard is a Gank named Carja Vel Aath but most people call him Carja. There are only a few reasons why someone would visit Qarth, one was to buy or sell slaves and another was to watch the fighting pits, a gladiatorial event that slaves can fight to earn their freedom. The Current Champion of the pits is Jom Veila, a human male who has over a hundred wins. Axel made a deal with a very dangerous man, who is referred to as the Dark King of Ziost. The deal allows the Dark King to have as many 'Volunteers' as he wants and all he has to to do is provide a Security force to ensure the rules of Qarth and the safety of the 'Customers'. The Security Force are all dressed in a black and white suit of Cybernetic armor, these soliders obey every command given to them by Axel and Carja. Axel walked towards his office, as he needed to know when the next shipment of slaves were coming in. He also wanted to know what was going on with a little operation he had going on. Since the success of it would give him an opening to meet with the head of the Ajuur Cartel and hopefully allow him to do business with the Cartel. Once inside his office Axel seat down on his 'Throne' and pressed a button which displayed a hologram of a Rutian Twi'lek that had lavender pigmentation, which was rare and would impress the Ajuur Cartel. Carja stood about two meters away from Axel and was ready for anything, however unlikely it was. As most moral, sane people usually stayed as far away as they could, since most people feared becoming slave and being shipped off world.

Her name was Maia Solara, honored shield maiden of the Northern Jarl. Until recently, she had not even been aware of the existence of live beyond the stars. Initially, they thought these people were gods, descending from the heavens. And indeed, as gods, they were nearly untouchable. They possessed weapons unlike anything she had ever seen before. No axe, blade, staff or arrow could pierce the hide of the massive airborne vessels, and even the warriors fired crimson bolts of lightning that tore through the stout shields of the Aegyr. Yet, even as they fell in droves, Maia strived forward, leading her people in defiance.
If they were gods, why would they bleed?
Though it was difficult, the daughter of the storms brought low more than one adversary that day. She knew then that they were not gods. And soon, she knew, that they were not the only world with living people. She saw her world from above the skies for the first time when she awoke, beaten and in chains, as one of the strange vessels bore her away. She was alone, and she could not understand what they said to her, but she understood their intent and belief: She was their property, to do with as they pleased. To show this, they had, quite liberally, removed her of most of her clothing, leaving her very little to her modesty. Though baring her flesh troubled her little, what Maia found demeaning was that they laid their hands on her without her permission.
“Jeg vil have min hævn, vildfarelser!” said Maia, her voice cold fury, “Jeg vil gå fri endnu en gang og fest på dit lig!”
She said no more since. And now, the airborne vessel was descending upon another world. She could not fathom the strangeness of this world. The buildings she could see, the people...so many people, all different.
Where were her people? Did they take only her?
Despite her anger and hatred, the girl was infinitely curious about this new world and all the people she could see. So much so, she barely resisted being led out of the ship, as she was preoccupied with looking around, drinking in the sights. What she was interested in was whether she could find a weapon she'd be able to use. There was also the problem with her not speaking a language these beings understood.

*The muddy streets stretched out before her. Small wood and stone huts lined the road through her village. The smell of smoke and farm hung in the air, mixed with the faint scent of pine from the nearby mountains. Everything about her home was pictured clear as day in her mind. At least until she opened her eyes.*
*Cara opened her eyes and stared at her hands. The steel holding cell was a far cry from her home village. This place was so loud, and the smell of so many beings packed together made her cringe. She had only been here for two days, but she was already starting to understand the workings of some of her captors. Even though she couldn't understand their language.*
*A new voice caught her attention and brought her back to the present. Cara moved silently to the window of her cell. Her bare feet making no sound across the cold steel floor. Outside she say another woman struggling against her captors, yelling in a language no one seemed to understand. The woman looked equal parts angry and in awe. Cara had felt the same way when she first arrived. The feeling was short lived when the reality of things started to set in.*

Qarth, Northern Province, Zeltros.
Axel and Carja made their way from Axel's Office down to the fighting pits as it was almost time for the next 'match'. Axel was looking forward to see the new 'product' being tested. The winner of these matches always fetched a higher price, of course the upcoming 'match' was not a death match as that was something that only those who wanted to fight and earn their freedom participated in, of course that was only a portion of the truth. In reality those who wanted to fight for their freedom had to be chosen by Axel, but it never hurt to let the slaves believe that they still had some free will however little it was. Axel hoped that the slaves perform to the best of their abilities, as it would make for a good show for any future buyer. He also knew that shortly he would have the 'gift' for the Hutt Cartel and that gave him a devilish grin.

Maia's sense of wonder and curiosity was brought to an end when a burly bluish-green skinned monster yanked on her chains and she nearly went flying across the distance between him and her, except she managed to catch her feet and she pulled back, shouting, “Frigør mig, skidt!”
The brute's response was to grunt and pull even harder until she was wearing out the soles of her boots on the ground as she was dragged forward in a futile tug-o-war, shouting expletives in her native tongue, and nobody needed translation to know she was not being polite or asking about the weather. She briefly locked eyes with another young woman, but she didn't have time to think about it before she was was inside a building. The structure was larger than anything she had ever seen, and the interior was so utterly mind-boggling to her. Everything seemed so solid and unnatural. There were no rocks, ground or plants, just metal and more metal. More metal than she had ever seen in her life.
The brute drew close and began to attach the main chain to the ground, on a platform she was standing on. She drew her hands up, clasped them together and struck him with all her might. He grunted, finished his work, stood up and slapped her hard enough to draw blood, then just turned and walked away. He came back and said something in a language she couldn't comprehend, offering her her weapons, a pair of small axes. He repeated his words and shoved the weapons into her hands decisively then stepped out of reach.
She tried using her axe on her chains but it achieved little results. Suddenly the platform was moving and she found herself in a rather bloody looking ground, with signs of poorly cleaned gore and flesh littering the place. The chains fell off her, but the cage door behind her snapped shut loudly, and when she looked back before her, she saw the young woman she'd spotted earlier, also armed, and with chains. Wary, she looked at the woman and said, “Er du også fange?”
From across the room there was a sound like a massive beast roaring.

*Cara watched through the bars of her cell window as the guards dragged the other woman away. She shook her head and stepped away from the window, trying not to wonder what fate will befall this one. Her eyes went to her bow that leaned up against the wall, then to the daggers laying next to it. She found it kinda curious that they gave her back her weapons. Well, almost all of her weapons. The quiver and arrows to her bow lay just out of reach, and if it wasn't for these stupid shackles...*
*The sound of the door opening and angry yells caught her attention. The same woman Cara had seen outside was now being shoved into the same cell as her. She picked her daggers up and sheathed them before the other woman turned around. Then the floor started moving, well technically going up. The woman before her spoke in a language she didn't understand. Cara simply shrugged her shoulders and spoke.* "Nid wyf yn deall."
*To her great relief, the shackles had fallen off her wrists. Cautiously, she made her way over to her quiver, all the while keeping an eye on the other woman. The roar of a massive beast quickly put the other woman near the bottom of her list of threats. For whatever made that noise, sounded less than friendly.*

The attackers were clearly not organized, and were most likely conscripted from the ranks of local troublemakers. The Zeltros were a very relaxed people, who simply were not capable of an attack of this manner en masse. No, this had to be a small group of militia fighters. Probably using guerilla tactics to their advantage. There was of course, the matter of how these people were brought together. These were not organized fighters, nor were they diehard patriots of a former military force. These were merely rabble who wanted to take anger out on a visible target at best, or unstable maniacs with a vendetta and a powerful leader at worst. It was most likely that there was somebody else; somebody more level headed behind the attack. Somebody who had an ulterior motive for wanting to kill the Imperials. Somebody who knew to direct these people’s disruptive tendencies towards the Imperials. Clearly this was just a statement, killing a few stormtroopers wouldn’t do anything other than increase security in the sector they were killed in. Whoever was behind this clearly knew that already. No, this had to be a ploy.“Most interesting indeed.” He turned to Marcos, fully aware that he was expecting an answer.“This appears to be a ploy to draw your attention. It’s on too small of a scale for it to really draw attention, yet it is big enough to be considered a threat. Whoever is behind these attacks clearly has at least a basic understanding of Imperial procedure, and so will expect the response of overwhelming force. Let’s play their game for now.” He looked straight at Marcos, the crimson color of his Chiss eyes unwavering in their piercing gaze.“They may think they are safe in their victory, but they don’t expect our presence. We will at least throw a wrench into their plans, which will allow us to formulate an effective response. They are playing into our hands perfectly.

That was just as she expected. She couldn't understand the other woman. But she drew on the universal understanding of the fact that she too was in chains. Perhaps they were being made to fight each other, or they were to face something far worse.
She was right on the latter.
Hefting her given weapons, she stood ready and turned to look in the direction at what made that noise. A quick glance to her side told her the woman was doing the same. Since they had an unspoken agreement, she nodded at the woman and whipped her head to face the grate on the far side when it began to rise...
...and a tiny palm-sized short-tailed rodent emerged from the shadows. It had a light brown fur, large round ears almost as large as its head, and round black eyes. Maia straightened up, utterly puzzle as the creature ambled forward aimlessly, and the young warrior gestures to it with her axe and looked at the other woman. “Dette skal være en vittighed.” She said. Her tone, if nothing else, expressing her sense of bemusement.

Marcos gave a tight smile as he all but fondles an oversized mace. Beside being completely against regulations, it was also made of a metal that glinted oddly in the artificial lights.
-Marcos Hmm, can't say I'm against a good smash & run raid.
The grin faded nearly as quickly though as the major continued through the logic.
-Marcos It does sound like a plan that will get more of my boys killed. How do you propose using that to track the slugs down?

She nocked an arrow and slid into a better stance to fire. Her bow was still lowered and not drawn, to save the strength in her arm. What came out, however, caused her to lower the bow even more and tilt her head some in curiosity. This creature looked more like a child's pet than a fierce monster. Cara turned to the woman when she spoke and simply gave a shrug.*

Qarth, Northern Province, Zeltros.
Axel sat in his viewing platform watching the two new slaves getting ready to fight. Axel could not help but grin when he witnessed their reaction to the beast, the buyers would get a show that was worth it. He knew that this match would certainly drive the prices up on these two slaves. Carja stood just behind Axel, Carja always enjoyed watching the slaves fight. It somehow manage to get the other 'fighters' in the mood to spill blood, Carja was most excited for a match that would happen much later which of course would feature the current undefeated champion Jom.
Jom's pen
Jom sat in his pen listening to the buyers talk about the other slaves and their worth, it angered him deeply that such a barbaric practice still existed in the galaxy. He however had only one option which was to fight and earn his freedom so that he may once again be a free man. He prayed that he would be more swift and stronger than his next opponent. Jom dislike the fact that his matches were fights to the death, but when you have one choice to earn freedom; what is one life to one's freedom. He told himself this to make him feel better about his decision to fight for his freedom.

Something didn't add up about what approached the two women. She could still see a tiny rodent that could be found burrowing in warrens and tunnels in her homeworld, but the sounds she heard coming from it was the sound of something decidedly larger, more dangerous. Her head felt foggy and even a little drowsy and in the moment when she blinked her eyes to when they reopened, she thought she saw the visage of something truly terrifying. The growling, snapping of teeth and plodding of massive paws against the sandy ground, warned her in every way that she was in true danger, and that the source of that danger was the tiny palm sized rodent in the shade coming closer and closer.
The shade...
She looked up and realized that the lights and the position of the shelters could not possibly throw a shadow like what she saw surrounding the rodent, and then it became clear. She blinked again, and saw the same terrifying visage right before her, coming closer. It was the rodent, only a hundred times larger, with sinister intent in its eyes, and a large maw with so much sharp teeth.
“Det er en kæmpe væsen!” cried Maia, pointing at the shadow with her axe and she leapt to one side when she saw the "tiny" rodent lunge forward, and the gates behind her shook from the impact of the massive beast, which roared and wheeled around. It could affect their minds, make their prey think a non-threatening creature was approaching. The only thing it couldn't conceal was its shadow. Keeping her eyes on the shadow, she saw what must be one of its limbs reaching out for her and she frantically struck with her axe, the head struck into solid hide, but it hurt the creature enough to make it squeal deafeningly and withdraw for a moment. Pressing her advantage, Maia saw her own shadow and guessed the angle as she ran, jumped and clambered unto its back, looking to anyone affected by the creature's ability to be seemingly standing on air.

*Cara watched the small animal slowly approaching them. Something so small shouldn't have been sending out so many warnings in the back of her mind, enough so that she pulled some on her bow string. Luckily, she wasn't the only one who saw something wrong with this. To her right, the other woman pointed towards the shadows with her axe. Cara turned her gaze and saw the true danger.*
*She moved quickly out of the beasts way when it lunged, or from everyone else's perspective, the small animal. Pulling back on her bow, she breathed out and focused, calling on the aid of her gods. She watched as the other woman climbed the creature's back, even though it looked as if she was climbing nothing at all. Cara pushed the strange sight from her mind and focused on her shot. The world around her seemed to slow, sounds seemed distant, and her hands guided by something not of her own mind. She didn't need to see the beast to know were to fire. The arrow loosed from her bow without any concious thought on her part and sailed straight towards where the beasts head would be, judging by the shadow.*
