Zeltros' entry into the IRI had been slower than some, as the IRI's negotiators worked with the local Royal Family to negotiate details. As with Hapes, Zeltros was a Monarchy, and so the deal wasn't simply a matter of a mandate from the masses. While negotiations continued, the IRI's Protectors had been granted temporary sanction to operate in anti-criminal operations.Unfortunately for the local judicials, the IRI was still in the formative stages, and resources were stretched extremely thin while the process of forming an interstellar government rolled on at a sedate pace. Due to the nature of the underworld, more backup had been requested, and the info had been flagged; leading to Kaine himself taking a strike team of Mandalorians to Zeltros to deal with the situation. The Mandalorian Alor had allowed his Mandos to be spotted by the local crime boss's forces loitering near their headquarters, a cube shaped building about five stories high located in the outskirts of the Capital. While the goons were watching the Mandalorians, a team of Night Witches made their way silently and invisibly to the rooftop and secured the snipers located up there. Once they were all secured, Kaine took his squad of four in the front doors.Inside, they found nearly a hundred further goons, and several more serious looking players, all of whom deferred to a larger human sitting on a throne-like chair. Next to him sat a larger chair, empty. Kaine scanned the room, everyone was heavily armed, no surprises there. The scanner also picked up traces of spice, and other less savoury substances in decent quantities. These criminals looked to be serious players. They'd also been sensible enough not to try shooting first against Mandos. He could work with this. I'll talk to your boss. The big goon on the throne laughed, and taking their cue from him, the goons of various species, Zeltrons and others, from grimy humans to Gran and Weequay, some Aqualish and even a few Quarren, all joined in. Kaine took off his helmet so the scum could see him smiling. While he did that, an even bigger being, a Zeltron male, came around the larger throne and sat down. He was not smiling. I'm the boss. Kaine's smile dropped. The Inner Rim is my territory. You want to work in my territory, you follow my rules. Now the big boss did smile, and it wasn't a very nice smile to Kaine's eyes. He met the boss's eyes, unsmiling. No slaves, and you don't sell your product to kids. The crime boss snorted.Thats half my potential customer base. I.. Kaine cut him off. Under eighteen is off limits. When people are old enough to make their own choices, thats on them. The crime boss fixed Kaine with a nasty look. I hear Mandos are adults at thirteen. You cool with me selling to little bucketheads at thirteen?Kaine advanced a pace forward, very aware of how many weapons were pointed in his general direction, slowly and purposefully. Just one pace, his voice was pitched very low and very dangerously.Targeting Mandalorians for being Mandalorians would be a hate crime. That's really about the dumbest thing anyone could do, just send up a beacon to the galaxy telling every Mandalorian in existence to drop whatever they're doing, because there's an instant Great Hunt for the Galaxy's Stupidest and Soon-to-be-a-trophy Shabuir. The boss had actually shifted backward into his seat about as far as he could go, and only when Kaine finished speaking did he realize, and correct his posture. The nasty smile had gone, the Old Boar was pleased to see. Kaine didn't smile, the boss didn't speak. They understood one another. Kaine might have to step on some heads, but not today. Word would get out, there were new rules. Stepping back, Kaine returned his helmet to his head, and led his squad out.--- Hours after the raid, Kaine met with local Judicials and IRI Protectors to inform them of the new arrangements. Practical law-enforcement professionals understood that they would never and could never eliminate crime entirely, and managing it was essential to protecting the general public. Morale was high, there was a new Sheriff in town, and the Inner Rim would become more of a safe and secure society.

Paradise CantinaAs citizens and visitors to Zeltros all around the planet celebrate the return of King Enitan and his Queen Makena, patrons of the luxurious Paradise Cantina celebrate along with them. Surrounded by lush natural vegetation, the roar of the many several story-high waterfalls pouring into the oasis that gives the cantina its name is not loud enough to drown out the babble of cheerful voices, the clinking of glasses or the thumping beat of the music many dance to.
Cais Nitin, a svelte, high cheekboned Zeltron with chin length platinum blonde dyed curls, turns from her companions, who play in the city's orchestra with her, when she hears a high pitched scream coming from behind her. The scream is, Cais discovers, one of delight, a patron of the cantina watching as one of the bolder Zeltron patrons dives from one of the highest cliffs into the oasis below. Applauding along with other patrons as the diver surfaces and pumps his fists in the air excitedly, Cais notices that a human male at the bar is surrounded by a small clearing in the otherwise packed space, as though he is emitting a force field that keeps everyone away from him. Frowning as she looks closer, Cais notices the human's pensive frown and can easily guess why it is other patrons are giving him a wide berth. Telepathically talented, all Zeltron are sensitive to the moods of others, and negative emotions are like nails on a chalkboard. Someone not having fun at any time on Zeltros is usually occasion for any respectable citizen to step in and try to elevate the mood of the potential party pooper, and as Cais watches, just such a citizen of Zeltros steps in and wraps her arm around the man's shoulders to lean in close and whisper in his ear. The man rebuffs the woman's advance easily enough, and Cais watches as the woman's handsome male companion gives it a go only to be just as politely brushed off.
Guessing that the moody human is not in the mood for one of the more common Zeltron solutions to ill humor, Cais excuses herself from her friends and, not one to sit idly by when someone isn't having fun, especially at a time like now when the whole planet is celebrating, decides to see if something less carnal in nature might cheer the human up. The human is, predictably, initially wary when Cais approaches him, and more than a little tipsy to boot, but warms up when it becomes apparent that she isn't there to throw herself at him. After a bit of conversational back and forth, Cais finds out the man is an opera and music fan, and once she tells him that she plays in an orchestra his mood improves considerably. Inviting the man, a resident of Zeltros who works as a chef at a hotel, to join her and her friends, Cais feels as though she has done her civic duty for the day and is all the merrier for it.

Northern Province Near the Sea
Thalassa Drakos, leaning forward with her arms resting on the deck railing as she looks out upon the waves of the sea she crash landed into over 30 years ago, sighs as she asks Berengar, "They know we've retired from our former lives, Berengar. I'm happy they've returned, of course, but . . ."
Berengar Crist, stroking his gray beard, nods, "I am too. They aren't asking us to grab our lightsabers and start doing what we . . . what I did before we came here. Enitan said it's advice he's looking for, nothing more."
Thalassa, a dark skinned native of Socorro and former Sith who looks far younger than her 76 years due to how well preserved her previous use of the Dark Side has kept her, arches an eyebrow as she says, "That's all he wants now, but he's had no problems asking for more than that in the past. I just don't want to be drawn out our retirement again. We've earned it, Berengar. Send our congratulations and well wishes, and let that be the end of it."
Berengar, a former Jedi Investigator who looks all 72 years of his age even though he has remained in decent shape, nods with a frown to show he understands Thalassa's sentiments, nonetheless says, "They're our friends. They're part of the reason you and I didn't die, he gestures towards the sea that he and Thalassa had both crashed into after an intense starfighter dogfight that has ultimately led them to this moment, out there, and why we're . . . "
Thalassa, smiling as she turns towards Berengar and rests her palm against his bearded cheek, "Poster children for the way Zeltros can put an end to any enmity, even that between a Jedi and a Sith? There had been a time she and Berengar had worried that all the love that has been born between them was nothing more than the pheromones and subtle, at times innocent telepathic suggestion that natives of Zeltros emit as part of their cultural aversion to conflict and negative emotions, but after moving away from the main cities to their remote home near the sea to see what was left once those things were removed both found that their love for one another had become genuine despite how it may have begun. Fine then, we'll go. Only to advise, though, nothing more."
Berengar plants a kiss on Thalassa's forehead, promising, "Nothing more. I'll let them know we'll come to the palace tomorrow."

Northern Province Near the Sea
Berengar, rolling his neck with a sigh after powering his dataterminal down, scowls as he considers what he has learned from his contact in Zeltros City's starport. Brock, an Imperial Knight and old friend from his days as a Jedi, had recently reached out to see if Berengar could provide any assistance in tracking down the whereabouts of an Imperial Knight that had gone missing after discovering a Force Sensitive youngling on Zeltros. Brock had been able to provide Berengar with the name and model of his fellow Imperial Knight's ship, which his contact in the starport had been able to use to learn that the ship in question had departed three days ago. The only problem, revealed after viewing security camera footage from the starport, is that the ship was taken out by a lone male Twi'lek that, given that the missing Imperial Knight is a human, raised more questions than it provided answers. While there a few benign reasons that could explain the Twi'lek flying off to parts unknown in the missing Imperial Knight's ship, Berengar can think of far more malignant ones.
Thalassa, walking up behind Berengar and massaging his shoulders, sighs as, able to tell from his posture and expression that he has not learned anything comforting about the Imperial Knight he had been asked to try to find for his old friend, she says, "I don't suppose you'll simply pass on the bad news and leave it to your old friend to deal with it, will you? Retired though Berengar may be, he has never been one to do any less than all that he can for his friends, and Thalassa knows he will not let the matter of the missing Imperial Knight and the youngling he had taken into his care rest until both have been found. No, she answers for Berengar before he has the need to state the obvious, of course you won't. Kissing the top of Berengar's head, she asks, How can I help?"
Berengar, resting a hand over Thalassa's, says, "Well, for starters, you can help me identify a Twi'lek that I'd like to ask a few questions," and then powers his dataterminal back on to fill Thalassa in on what he has learned so that she can offer her thoughts on how they can track down the Twi'lek.

It must have been only two drops, Sakina thinks idly as, waking enough to realize that she is neither in her hotel bed nor alone in the bed she has woken in, she finds the realizations do not trouble her very much at all. Opening her steel blue eyes enough to note that her bedmate is a Zelton woman with an unruly mop of chin length blonde curls who is sleeping curled up beneath the sheets beside her with her head laying on Sakina's chest, Sakina smiles as some of the previous evening's events return to her. Prompted, Sakina remembers as she gently disentangles herself from the sleeping Zeltron woman, to venture from her hotel room only after her meager supply of Sweetblossom had been exhausted so that it might be replenished, she clearly succeeded in finding a way to procure her drug of choice and, either along the way or afterwards, encountered the Zeltron. She and the Zeltron - Cais, she recalls the woman's name suddenly - obviously, Sakina thinks as, standing to languidly stretch her arms over head with a yawn, hit it off well enough that, despite the fact she had acquired the Sweetblossom and typically preferred to enjoy it in solitude, she broke with her usual routine.
Finding her clothes in the currently sun drenched living area adjacent to the bedroom, Sakina pulls on her shirt and wraps her tactical scarf around her neck after compulsively going through the pockets of her jacket to see the small jar of Sweetblossom is there, and then sets out to find the kitchen and the caf she hopes to find there. Wandering lazily, pausing to examine the furnishings and decorations on display in Cais' home while her memories of the previous evening slowly unfurl as her mind, freed from the languor Sweetblossom use invokes, wakes more fully, Sakina eventually finds the kitchen and all she needs to brew a pot of caf.
Leaning back against the counter beside the caf maker as it begins to gurgle away and the scent of freshly brewed caf wafts through the air, Sakina closes her eyes and, her tail swishing from side to side absently, leans her head back to enjoy the feel of the bright, warm morning sun streaming in through the windows on her short tawny hued fur. Sakina's last temporary job, completed on Ambria, had left her with enough credits to enjoy a brief trip to Zeltros, chosen merely due to its proximity, before returning to Tatooine, which is as much a home as any world has been to her since she left Ryloth over two decades ago. In control of her addiction enough to refrain from using when on a job, Sakina typically allows herself a few days after the work is done to indulge herself, choosing the worlds on which she does so at random. Idly toying with the double stranded necklace she always wears, Sakina does a bit of mental math and calculates that her credits will last three, maybe four more days before returning to Tatooine is necessary, unless she finds work here on Zeltros in the meantime. Groaning, used to using Sweetblossom to keep thoughts of necessity and other mundane matters at bay while indulging herself after completing a job, Sakina looks at the pocket of her jacket, hanging over the back of a chair invitingly near to hand, promising herself five drops once she has returned to her hotel room.

Cais is pleasantly surprised when, after rousing briefly to find herself alone in bed, she wakes later to the smell of caf. Pulling on a robe and making her way to the kitchen, Cais walks up to Sakina and, as she is several inches shorter than the Felacatian, tugs on her scarf to pull her face closer so she can kiss her lips lingeringly before telling her, "Good morning." Mornings after can sometimes be awkward, but Cais suspects that is not going to be the case given that Sakina has made herself at home rather than simply disappeared without a word when she had the chance to do so.
After pouring the caf for Sakina and herself once the pot has finished brewing, Cais suggests that they move onto her deck, and then leads the way to the glassine doors opening onto the deck, which overlooks the lush, verdant forest surrounding the edge of the city that her apartment complex is located in. After sitting in one of the chairs around the table on the deck, Cais takes a pack of small, thin cigarras and a lighter from a pocket of her robe and, after lighting one and offering the pack to Sakina, sits in her chair with her legs crossed beneath her and sips her caf while looking out at the forest.
Save for a few simple facts that are nearly always exchanged when meeting others for the first time, Cais knows very little about Sakina given that they did more drinking and dancing than talking, and, even though one of the things she learned was that the Felacatian is not going to be on Zeltros for long, hopes that she will have the chance to learn more. "So, Sakina, Cais says with a smile as she looks at the Felacatian after she has turned her head towards the side to exhale a stream of bluish smoke and tapped the ash from her cigarra into a small circular dish in the center of the table, if you don't have any plans for tonight, I was thinking we might have dinner together after the orchestra's performance. The fact that she is a double viol player in the city's orchestra, Cais recalls, did come up at some point during the previous evening, but she cannot recollect whether or not Sakina expressed her opinions about music, and therefore is not sure whether or not attending the orchestra performance will appeal to her, and so to make it plain that Sakina is under no obligation to attend the show, tells her, If you want a ticket, I can have one waiting at the box office for you."

Maybe the five drops day can wait, Sakina thinks to herself as she considers Cais' proposed agenda for the evening. Having grown accustomed to allowing herself to be carried along, to a certain degree, by the capricious tides of circumstance after serving her prison sentence and embracing the freedom the life of a smuggler allowed her, Sakina has never been one to make any hard and fast plans; the idea of attending an orchestral performance and dining with Cais, who feels familiar in the way Zeltron often do and who seems to share Sakina's philosophy of enjoying those pleasures that come ones way without the need to complicate them by worrying about the future or endeavoring to assign them with deeper meanings, appealing to her enough that abandoning her idea of indulging in her Sweetblossom addiction gives her little pause.
Drawing on the cigarra she had accepted when it had been offered, Sakina exhales the smoke from her nostrils as she drawls lazily, "As it so mmmrrr happens, I have no pressing plans for the evening. Dinner after the orchestra sounds nice. More of a listener than a talker, Sakina had not shared her views on music with Cais when the Zetron had spoken of her career, and spoke of her own job only in broad terms due as much to her inclination towards reticence as to the ingrained caginess of an ex-con. Though she often listens to music while enjoying the comfortably numbed effects of Sweetblossom, Sakina has had only limited exposure to orchestral music, having enjoyed it enough that she looks forward to hearing the live performance she has been invited to. What mmmmrrr kind of music does your orchestra perform?"

Cais smiles when Sakina, demonstrating the endearing dry wit and utterly casual air that had initially drawn her to the Felacatian, accepts the invitation to the orchestra and dinner, reaching over to lay her hand over Sakina's as she says playfully, "Ah, I am so glad you're available for the evening. Replying to the question about what kind of music the orchestra plays, Cais takes a drag of her cigarra before explaining, Well, we primarily play classical pieces, but we occasionally do something much more fun like orchestral pop or even hip hop. Tonight's performance will be classical, however, but I hope you enjoy it all the same."
As she is about to ask Sakina more about herself in an effort to get to know the Felacation's interests so that she has an idea of what else they might do together, Cais hears the chiming of her doorbell. Looking mildly perplexed, not expecting any visitors, Cais says, "Excuse me just a moment," kissing Sakina's cheek as she walks from the deck into the living area on her way to the door.
Returning a moment later, accompanied by a male and female Devaronian dressed in well tailored suits, Cais looks as perplexed as she feels as she introduces the duo, "This is Detective Bernardi and his partner Detective Vitale. Arching an eyebrow in obvious confusion as the alleged detectives both nod silently to Sakina, she relays as much as asks, They say they are working with you on something?"
The male Devaronian, tall, thin, intense looking and possessed of one broken horn, gives Sakina what can only be described as a warning glance strongly suggesting she play along, as his alleged partner, who looks almost amused by the situation, asks Cais, "Go on inside and give us a minute, love, will you?"
Cais hesitates a moment, looking at Sakina with a questioning expression as though to make sure she should leave her alone with the Devaronian duo.

However many drops it is that she ultimately decides to indulge herself in, Sakina thinks as she gives Cais a reassuring smile while nodding to convey that the Zeltron need not be concerned about their unexpected guests, it is not likely that she will be indulging in them anytime soon. As she was not so impaired the night before that she would have forgotten about working with law enforcement in any capacity, the very idea of doing so laughably absurd given the innate distrust she has of them by virtue of her past, Sakina had immediately begun to think of who the Devaronians might really be and what they might want with her no sooner than Cais had introduced them. Sakina has served as a combat medic on several smuggling crews, and yet so far as she knows has made no enemies that might sic the Devaronians on her; being laid back and rather self contained by nature, she tends to get along well enough with her shipmates despite not making much of an effort to connect with them. The Devaronians choice to put on a show for Cais' benefit rather than coming at whatever their angle is in a more aggressive fashion suggests to Sakina that they want something from her as opposed to wanting to settle some score, but she reminds herself to bear in mind that some beings don't take no as an answer well.
Taking a drink of her caf while watching Cais leave the deck, Sakina waits until she is no longer in view before setting her caf down and, sounding just as relaxed as her languid demeanor suggests she feels, turns her attention to the female Devaronian since, between the pair of the faux detectives, she seems like the talker, and rather than asking how they knew she was here or any other ultimately irrelevant questions that others might ask were they in her place, lazily drawls, "What mmmrrr is this all about detectives? What is it you want?" Sakina's deliberate emphasis on the word detectives, accompanied by the slight upward curl of her lips denoting amusement, will let the Devaronians know that, unlike Cais, she is not convinced by their show, while she hopes the directness of the question will prompt them to cut down or dispense entirely with any preamble leading up to the revelation of why they have sought her out.

Chiara Vitale, dropping casually into the chair Cais had vacated, chuckles when Sakina, apparently unfazed by the situation, jumps right to business and asks what they want. Looking over at her partner, Chiara says, "You believe this cat? No let me see your badges or how did you know I was here for her, just straight to what do you want all serious and unbothered. So cool, right? Returning her attention to Sakina, she asks, So, what gave us away? Your girlfriend bought the detective thing. Didn't ask to see our badges though, which is a pity, we got these, she holds up a convincing enough looking badge, cool accessories and everything all special for the occasion. Returning the badge to the inner breast pocket of her suit jacket, making sure Sakina sees the blaster she has holstered under her right arm as she does so, Chiara, still sounding amused with herself and the overall situation, says, So, your buddy Takoda talks really highly of you, Sakina. Looking over at her partner, she asks for confirmation, Don't he? Her partner, not as chatty as she is, just nods, so Chiara jerks a thumb towards him and asks Sakina, See? Leaning forward like she is confiding a secret, Chiara states the obvious, He don't talk much."
Leaning back in her chair, Chiara decides to finally answer Sakina's question, "What we want is to make use of your medical skills, Sakina. Lifting her hands and smilig, she asks, What else would we want? Sniffing and lacing her hands behind her head, Chiara explains, Got into a little mix up with the local lawmen, the real ones, and our doc can't patch up our other guys on account of he took a blaster bolt to the face and got dead. Since we can't take our guys to the hospital, obvi, Takoda, who got an ouchie or two too, suggested we come and ask you nice to take care of our crew's boo boos. He talks a lot, huh? Kinda overshares? Like, he was all excited you met a cute double viol player and went home with her. That's how we found ya, by the way. Looking over towards the doors leading to the living area, Chiara smiles, Your girlfriend is cute. We don't gotta be all if you don't come with us she'll get hurt do we? Looking back at Sakina and frowning, Chiara says, That's so cliche and we don't wanna be those guys, ya know? So, she smiles brightly, whattaya say, Sakina? You wanna help our guys and your buddy Takoda out, make a few credits to buy your girl something nice, or do we gotta force the issue?"

The end of Sakina's tail, hanging down low, twitches as she listens to Chiara babble on. Her posture and expression remain relaxed despite the mounting irritation she feels while waiting for the Devaronian to get to her point; the only time she evidences any emotion at all being a brief look of understanding coupled with commingled amusement and annoyance when it is revealed that Takoda, an overly talkative Herglic that she has crewed with often enough that a casual friendship has developed between them, is the author of her present situation. Sakina vaguely remembers being surprised when she had run into Takoda, and recalls him excitedly chattering about the crew he had most recently signed on with, and supposes she must have shared enough about her evening that Takoda had been able to let the Devaronian duo vexing her now know to track down Cais' residence, the fact she was something of a public figure making that easier than it would have been otherwise, unfortunately for Sakina.
Sakina's tail becomes still, and her steel blue eyes narrow ever so slightly when Chiara not so subtly threatens to harm Cais should she not agree to tend to the Devaronians wounded crew mates, and she calculates the distance she would need to cross and how fast she could cross it in order to simply eliminate her problem by using her teeth and claws to dispose of the duo. The thought passes quickly, however, as Sakina has no desire to find herself at the center of the police investigation that would surely follow, or to visit such chaos on Cais's life. From the sound of what led the Devaronians to their predicament, now Sakina's as well thanks to Takoda's big mouth, winding up in the middle of a police investigation is still a distinct possibility given that the local law enforcement is almost certainly looking for the crew that they mixed it up with, but Sakina supposes she can hope the fact that the duo making it to her without incident affords a small hope that they will also be able to get her to their wounded crew mates without attracting unwanted attention.
Only after yawning and languidly stretching her arms over her head, having resigned herself to the fact that she has no choice but to go along with the Devaronians but wanting to make it clear how wearisome she finds them and their insistence on making their problems hers, Sakina doesn't deign to answer Chiara's answer and instead drawls disinterestedly, "Let's mmmrrr get this over with," deciding it wise to refrain from making any more overt sign of her displeasure as she has a feeling that antagonizing the Devaronians would risk the situation going from annoying to dangerous.

Chiara looks over at her partner when Sakina responds with what appears to be her default setting of bored insouciance, telling him, "So cool, right? Standing up and clapping her hands cheerfully, Chiara says, Let's get this show on the road then, yeah? Tilting her head to the side, she gives the Felacatian a wink as she suggests helpfully, You might wanna put on some pants, and then waves towards the doors leading back into the living area to have Sakina precede them inside rather than have her at their backs, After you."
Once inside, Chiara stays with Sakina as she gets dressed while her partner skulks about silently in the kitchen with Cais. Once Sakina has gotten dressed, Chiara pats her down to make sure she didn't manage to conceal any weapons on her, then stays beside the Felacatian as they enter the kitchen. Smiling reassuringly, Chiara tells Cais, "We're gonna borrow your girl for a bit, but we promise to get her back in time for anything you two crazy kids have planned for the night."
Cais, trying to gauge from Sakina's expression and comportment whether or not she should be worried, goes over and hugs Sakina after nodding to Chiara. Stepping back after the embrace, Cais looks questioningly into Sakina's eyes as she asks, "I'll see you tonight then?"

As she had not brought her weapon with her, Sakina has nothing to find when searched, enduring both being watched while finishing dressing and then patted down with an unperturbed and becalmed demeanor; accepting that she has been cornered into helping the Devaronians injured crewmates, she sees little to gain from bemoaning her fate or allowing irritation or stress to distract her from what needs to be done.
As though the Devaronians are not present, Sakina places a hand on Cais' cheek after they embrace, the corner of her lips curled up in a confident grin as she lazily drawls, "Tonight," to confirm that she intends to follow through with their plans for the evening even though, in fact, she cannot guarantee that circumstance will cooperate with those plans. The best that Sakina can hope for, she knows, is that Chiara's glib attitude indicates that her belief that the fugitive status of her crew will not result in local law enforcement finding them before Sakina has tended to the crew and then gone on her way is founded on something more solid than mere hope.
Knowing that the Devaronians will want her in front of them, Sakina leaves her jacket and the bottle in its pocket behind as she leads the way out into the hallway. Once they are making their way to the turbolift, or stairs should the Davaronians choose them instead, Sakina asks in a bored tone, "You have the supplies I'll need to look after your wounded? If not, we can pick up my kit on the way."

Chiara, looking and sounding a bit less amused now that they are on the move, fields Sakina's question as they start descending the stairs, "Our doc's field kit made it through the mess in a lot better shape than he did, and should have all you need. The locals, for funsies, had some Mando's backing them up, so you'll have some burns and slugthrower wounds to deal with in addition to the usual blaster ouchies, should be real fun for you, practice those skills and all," Chiara tacks on.
When they reach the ground floor, Chiara puts a hand on Sakina's shoulder to hold her back as Bernardi. after rubbing his broken horn in a mildly apprehensive way, heads outside. As the male Devaronian ducks furtively outside, Chiara explains, "Checking to make sure it's all clear, wouldn't wanna walk right into a bunch'a Mandos and locals, yeah? Giving Sakina a gentle shove when Bernardi returns and, proving his partner's claim that he doesn't talk much, simply grunts to indicate they aren't walking into an ambush as far as he can tell, Chiara says cheerfully, Stay close, don't try nothin', 'm'kay?"
Bernardi takes the wheel of the commandeered airspeeder, Chiara indicating Sakina should get in the passenger seat while she herself takes up the seat directly behind her, grinning as she brandishes her blaster to remind the Felacatian not to try anything cute, adding, "Just stay cool, patch up our pals, and you'll be back to your girl in no time," as Bernardi takes the speeder up, joining the flow of traffic heading towards the city's industrial district.

Save for a single ambiguously drawled, "Mmmrr," Sakina says nothing in response to Chiara's commentary, appearing unruffled by the overall situation as she simply settles herself comfortably in the passenger seat as they continue on towards wherever the Devaronians associates have holed up. As the Devaronians medic had reportedly been shot in the face, the fact his kit is in better shape is not exactly promising, but Sakina sees little point in pushing the issue as it would only delay, should the Devaronians not alter their arrangement, her release from them. Blaster wounds, ubiquitous on nearly any battle field as well as common enough in the smuggling life, Sakina isn't particularly concerned about her ability to treat any such wounds the Devaronians companions might have suffered, but burns and slugthrower wounds are less common and often require more intensive care to treat completely than any field medic is equipped for; though Sakina does not imagine that she will be expected to do anything beyond stabilizing those that suffer from them. Of more concern to Sakina is the fact that Mandalorians are usually both persistent and adept at tracking their prey. The last thing Sakina wants is to find herself in the crossfire should either the local authorities or the Mandalorians assisting them manage to locate the Devaronians and their crew while she is tending to the wounded.
Worrying about the possibilities and the unknown, in Sakina's estimation and experience, seldom accomplishes anything, and so she leans her head back after dismissing the apprehension mounting within her, closing her blue eyes and dozing as they hurtle on towards whatever the future holds in store.

Content to let the Felacatian nap, Chiara doesn't wake her until they have arrived at their destination, a veterinary clinic on the outermost edge of the city. Gently tapping the side of Sakina's head with her blaster, Chiara asks, "Have a nice catnap? And then, when Bernardi, who had left the speeder to check the immediate vicinity for any sign that it might be under police or Mandalorian surveillance and seeing nothing suggesting it is, gives the all clear, tells Sakina, Let's go, and adds cheerily, Don't try nothing, m'kay? We're all getting along so well it would be a cryin' shame to spoil things now, right?"
Once inside the clinic, Bernardi goes to confer with their captain, a surly looking male Weequay with a blaster wound to the shoulder that has been hastily bandaged, while Chiara herds Sakina to the rear of the clinic where their wounded crew members are sitting or laying about in the operating rooms or exam rooms. In all, six of the Weequay's crew are wounded; one, a female Rodian with a particularly nasty acidic slugthrower wound to the neck breathing raspily as she lays on an operating table, two male Trandoshans, one with a blaster wound to the left abdomen and the other with severe burns over most of the right side of his body, Sakina's Herglic friend Takoda, who has blaster wounds in his left shoulder and upper thigh, a human female with a large acidic slugthrower wound in her upper left back, and a Chalactan male with an ugly wound on his right temple from a blaster bolt that, fortunately for him, only grazed his temple.
Gesturing with her blaster towards the Rodian, Chiara suggests to Sakina, "Probs wanna start with poor Kavya there, she don't look or sound too hot. Doc's kit is on the sink over there."

Sakina does a quick assessment of the wounded as Chiara takes her through the clinic, triaging the wounds to determine which require attention most. The Rodian female that Chiara suggests that she start with, Sakina gauges after a look at the damage to Kavya's neck, is as good as dead, "Mmmmrr, nothing I can do for her except make her more comfortable before she goes into respiratory arrest," she tells Chiara, not adding that it would have been better to have left Kavya at the scene so she could have received care sooner, though whether or not that would have made any difference is doubtful.
Heading to the kit to have a look at what she has on hand, Sakina throws a bottle of sterile saline to the Chalactan with the head wound, telling him, "Get the mmmrr human on her side and start pouring that over her wound, since the Chalactan's wound is the least severe while the woman is probably the worst off, and removing any remaining traces of the acid is the priority, don't let it pool in the wound," she adds as she starts drawing up analgesic and anxiolytic meds to give Kavya and the Tradoshan that looks like he was hit with a flamethrower. Taking a look at the blaster wounds on Takoda and the other Trandoshan, seeing that the crew was smart enough to apply pressure bandages to the wounds to control the bleeding the pressurized steam and kinetic force from the blaster bolts would have caused, Sakina determines they can sit tight for time being while she treats the burned Trando and human female.
After dosing Kayva to make her passing more peaceful, Sakina goes to the Trando and assesses his burns more thoroughly, seeing enough exposed muscle and bone to let her know fluid resuscitation will be an issue unless the clinic has enough crystalloids on hand to combat the hypovolemia and hypoperfusion that systemic response to the burn injury will cause. Tossing Chiara a box of gauze pads and a bottle of sterile saline, Sakina tells the Devaronian, Wet the mmmrr gauze and cover any exposed bone or muscle," as she starts establishing IV access on the Trando.

Daksh Yadav, the Chalactan with the minor head wound, catches the bottle Sakina throws to him, looking over to Chiara questioningly. When the Devaronian nods, Daksh complies with Sakina's instructions and turns Capucine Berthod, the human female with the acid round wound in her back, onto her side so that he can pour the saline over the gaping, bloody hole.
Chiara, clucking her tongue as she watches Sakina dose Kavya, says, "Poor Kavya, and after being told to cover Bidzill's exposed muscle and bone with wet gauze, starts to do so as she asks cheerfully, Does this make me a nurse? The Trandoshan's moans become more subdued after Sakina has given him the painkiller and relaxant, and as she works Chiara says, Those Mandos weren't playing around. Who uses flamethrowers anyways? And acid rounds? Talk about disproportionate escalation, amIright? Tilting her head to the side as she observes the extent of the damage Bidzill has suffered after finishing covering the exposed muscle and bone surrounded by charred flesh that still smells vaguely of roasted meat, Chiara says, Eh, he was never pretty anyway, then asks Sakina, What's next, Doc?"

Sakina ignores Chiara's babbling as she works, searching the cabinets and supply room for bags of crystalloid fluid once she has established IV access on Bidzill. After hanging the first bag, she tells Chiara, "Look in the mmmrr cabinets over there for any antibiotics, naming a few of the more broad spectrum antibiotics likely to be on hand in a veterinary clinic, adding, and as much mmmrr bacta gel or patches as you can find." The crew's medic's kit has some of both, naturally, but not in the quantities she will need to treat all of the wounded. Bidzill will need some time in a bacta tank to fully heal, but that is the crew's concern, not hers, and so Sakina, once Chiara is collecting what she has been sent to gather, moves over to where the Chalactan is rinsing out Capucine's wound.
The wound, predictably, is nasty, the acid filled round damaging muscle and bone as well as flesh, but fortunately did not damage any internal organs. After removing whatever bullet fragments she can find, Sakina packs the wound with gauze soaked with bacta and a hemostatic agent, the latter to control the bleeding and the former to regrow the damaged tissue, muscle and nerves. Once the wound is dressed, Sakina injects her with whatever antibiotic Chiara found before moving over to where the Trandoshan with the abdominal wound, administering pain medication and an antibiotic before removing the pressure dressing that had been applied to assess the wound.
As she is checking the abdominal wound for any damage to the Trandoshan's internal organs, Sakina tells Takoda in her lazy drawl, sitting nearby, "Interesting mmmmrrr company you are keeping. I understand I have you to thank for this interruption in my vacation."

Chiara, finally getting the hint, stops trying to engage Sakina in idle chatter and simply does as asked, gathering what antibiotics and bacta supplies she can find and setting them on the counter near the crew's deceased doc's medkit.
Takoda, sitting precariously on a chair much too small for his massive frame, smiles sheepishly when Sakina gently chides him for having gotten her tangled up in the crew's mess, rubbing the back of his head as he booms loudly, "Yeah, I'm really sorry about that, 'kina. We were in a bit of a bind, and since I knew you were here on Zeltros it just kind of popped out. Looking around at the crew members that have been treated, he tries to sound reassuring as he adds, Besides, it looks like you're just about wrapped up here, so you should be back to your vacation in no time. Trying for a more cheerful topic, he asks, So, how did things go with your musician friend? It looked like you two hit it off pretty well!"
