She heard the rushed voice of the captain at the bottom of the flight of stairs. Not quite able to make it out, but her time was now likely even more limited. Dah'lis took a moment to collect herself and draw the Force up around her like a cloak and dropped down the the rest of the flight of stairs. She landed in the doorway to the Muun's office and quickly took in the scene. There was the captain, the Muun, and the Sith. On the desk was an empty tray, possibly of diamonds. Likely the Sith had already pocketed them and now had what they had come for so would hopefully stay out of the way. But their wasn't much time to keep considering as from all around the complex lights and alarms started going off, warning of an intruder. Lunging forward she swiftly removed the arm of Captain Yoto with a simple slash as he drew his blaster. Dropping to his knees in pain, Dah'lis put her heeled shoe on his chest and pushed him backwards till he was laying on the floor.
Once I'm done with your boss I'll have some questions for you, so be a good little boy and stay. Her voice was soft and sweet but not so much as to hide the threat and menace behind it. Her eyes then flicked to the Sith, seeing what her move would be in all this.

Vasari kept her hands inside the folds of her cloak and watched the entire exchange, when the man's arm left the rest of his body she nearly smirked. It was a good move, a bit overextended and she exposed her side at the thrust, but Vasari mentally nodded her approval at it all the same. Her eyes turned back the Muun, then to the beautiful blue skinned warrior in front of her who now had her eyes trained in her direction. Vasari pulled her arms free of her cloak and slowly crossed them over her chest in a very non-threatening gesture before raising an eyebrow and turning her head towards Kram.
"What have you gotten yourself into now Kram?"
"What are you doing... Kill her! You are one of the Blackguard! Your Master serves my master kill her!
"My 'Master' serves no one..."She said casually raised her shoulders and looked back at the curious creature before her."You better hurry... There are probably 30 or more of his personal security force headed this way at that alarm."

The smallest of smirks formed on Dah'lis' face as the Sith showed that she would not be intervening on the side of the Muun. Taking her foot off the helpless guards chest (a familiar action for the two, though he had both arms attached that time) and deactivating her lightsaber, the half-breed walked slowly toward the cowering Kram. An anger and burning hate was in her eyes not usually seen with Imperial Knights. Though this man was not her former master, he was one of his close associates who had... used her talents before at the offering of her master. Now she wasn't just playing the role of punisher, she was one. Despite the urgency that surrounded them with the impending arrival of more guards, Dah'lis took her time approaching the Muun, letting her hips sway in much the same way they had back then, when last she approached this pathetic creature to dole out some discipline. Once to him she turned the lightwhip to a lower power and with a flourish and a crack, struck the Muun on his elongated face.
I thought I told you during our last visit never to to use that tone of voice with a woman again? Do we need a refresher? Another crack of the whip and the Muun was on his knees, blubbering. That's what I thought. Sadly, for you anyway, this will not be ending like that visit. Circling around behind him, she took a couple of steps to plant herself in a strong stance and then in a swift motion, as if this was not the first time she'd done this before, she wrapped the whip around his neck and pulled tight. By the order of his Imperial Majesty and Supreme Leader of the First Order, Nicademus Delvardus IV, I sentence you to death for conspiracy to assassinate the his Imperial Majesty. Dah'lis held the whip tight as the Muun struggled against the burning cord. She only spared a couple glances to the doorways and to the Sith.

Vasari's eyes moved over the knight watching her footwork and the curve of her hips as she half stalked half glided towards the Muun. He had completely lost himself and was groveling on the floor muttering something up at the girl that she was too distracted to pay attention to a dying man's last words. Her eyes passed to the door as she expanded her minds influence. She felt at least two dozen men moving their way. She slowly stalked around the table just as the Knight had her whip around the Muun's large neck and she was finally close enough to hear his whimpering pleas of desperation.
"It wasn't me... they forced me... they threatened to kill me if I didn't help them... I would never betray the Supreme Leader! I'm Loyal!
Vasari couldn't refrain from rolling her eyes at that. She could tell by the look on the woman's face, her body language and the burning power of the lightwhip searing into his flesh that this was not a trial, this was simply the execution. It was the first time she had seen an actual light whip. They had practice ones at the Academy, but this one was a work of art. She found herself studying it more than paying attention to the Muun. Though her attention was soon drawn to the stairs. She reached out with the force and closed the door, then rocked a bookshelf a little until it fell over to cover the entry way. After that she turned towards the Knight whom she was now standing almost side by side with and whispered.
"I feel at least 20 of them... I dont think they're the type to kneel to your authority either. So you want to umm... wrap things up here?"
She smirked at her little joke and then looked down at the table once again as if trying to memorize the passageways of the mine. She still had a mission to accomplish. She looked at the window, duraglass no doubt, but it would break like porcelain under her touch if she wished it, a cold but effective entrance into the mines since she had blocked their only other exit when she disabled the turbo-lift.

Visually annoyed by the soon to be intrusion, Dah'lis adjusted her grip on the whip so as to hold it in one gauntleted hand. This allowed a little reprieve for the struggling Muun, but that would soon not matter. She retrieved her lightsaber and held it to the back of Kram.
Looks like you get off easier than your fellows.
And with that, she activated the blade. The beam of silver effortlessly went straight through the Muun's chest. After a moment Dah'lis let the body crumple to the floor. Speaking of bodies on the floor...
Sorry, dear, looks like we don't get to play after all.
The Knight summoned the helpless Yoto's blaster to her she fired a single shot between his watering eyes. This had all turned out more crude than she would have liked, but shrugged it off as she tossed the blaster aside. But now she turned and looked at the Sith and had a chance to study her. Their were many thoughts running through Knight Vao's head, few of them productive in this moment, but would be saved for later. Her eyes were torn away from the lean and well proportioned Sith, to the door which the she had blocked up. It seemed she was willing to work with the Knight and that was good enough for her.
I have to admit, I did not expect Yoto to be leading the security team, otherwise I may have gone unrecognized. Do you have any ideas how to get out of this office... other than going through 20 guards?

Vasari noted the military efficiency in which she dispatched the two men and noted the look that she gave her before asking about her planned escape route. Vasari gave the half breed a rare smile and shook her head moving away from the table and turned her look towards the wall of glass overlooking the entrance to the mine. It was at least a 100 foot drop to the mouth of the cave - a force assisted descent could see them safely to the bottom, but that wouldn't give them a way back to their ships, and she knew that they had entered by the same hanger bay.
"They only recently got here... I had hoped to take advantage of the shift in power to acquire a few things. I get the feeling the ones here are the Muun's private security, not First Order soldiers."
She reached her hand up to the dura-glass and focused for a half second before sending out a wide waved force push that shattered the glass sending it flying outward and down into the open mouth of Dragon's Deep. Vasari looked back at the Knight the moment she heard men began to bang on the door - a moment later a blaster shot blew apart the control panel from the outside and the door began to hiss open. Vasari reached out with the force and closed the door, holding it by sheer force of will before blaster fire could fill the room. Still knowing what they were up against now they would just breach and do a controlled sweep of the room - or if they were well enough armed, burn them out with explosives.
"We should be going don't you think?"

Dah'lis was impressed by the woman's skill in the Force. Opting to not keep the tattooed woman waiting and holding the door, the woman stepped out of the window into the freezing air. On the way down she fully regretted leaving her cloak on the floor of the entry way. But that thought had to put aside as the ground quickly approached. Reaching out with the Force, Dah'lis slowed her decent to a harmless drift. Looking up to see if her new 'friend' was following or if she'd need to start deflecting blaster bolts back upward. Lightly and gently she landed on the snowy ground, her normally smooth skin now covered in goose bumps. She waited at the base of the building for the Sith to join her before making her next move.

Vasari watched the half breed walk off the ledge she had created and plummet rather gracefully towards the mouth of Dragon's Deep. Turning her attention back to the door and looking at the two bodies lying there she rolled her eyes, knowing she would be implicated in their murder... excecution, whatever you wanted to call it anyways so once she allowed it to happen without interference she had chosen her side. It was her and this Imperial Knight against the entire security force of this mine. Keeping her eyes on the door she walked backwards - her not being seen leaving here would give them an advantage, there would only be one of them to chase, and not two. Any advantage would be key. She held the door firm until she walked backwards off the ledge, only then did the door open allowing the twenty men outside to poor in to discover what Dah'lis had done. In minutes the entire compound would be locked down, their ships impounded and they would have to fight their way through half a hundred men to escape the planet.
Vasari's body tucked slightly in air and she refocused her mind to her descent and used her connection to the living force to slow her fall towards the planet landing in the hard snow at the lip of the 'Dragon's mouth' in a billow of cloak and loose powdery snow. She turned on her heel and looked up at the ledge knowing their escape path couldn't be duplicated by those above, but that only gave them a moments head start. Vasari looked around at the loose powdery snow they were standing in and considered her options. There was no entryway back into the compound - the only path for them lay within the mine itself. This was where Vasari was headed regardless - she still had a mission to accomplish after all, but she turned to the Knight and gave her a half smile.
"It will take them a moment or two to organize... where to?"

Dah'lis lets her eyes linger on the graceful frame of the descending Zabrak and allows herself another private, yet momentary thought. But as the woman landed next to her, the half-breed looked around. The only way forward was down it seemed. Reaching up to her ear, Dah'lis activated her comlink to her squad. She was lucky that the security forces were sloppy and hadn't jammed short range communication. Over the comms, she heard the sounds of sustained blaster fire as well as the howl of the wind.
Lilith Squad, do you hear me?
=Lilith Captain= We here you, commander. We are holding off a squad of mine-sec at the landing pad. Orders?
Get the ship off the ground if you can and stay out of range of their defences. I'll signal you when we're ready for pick up.
=Lilith Captain= We?
Just do it, I'll explain later, Azure out. Lowering her hand and ending the transmission she nodded to the woman. I have clearly interrupted your business here and you helped me regardless, or at least stayed out of my way, so I owe it to you to help you finish your task. It wasn't just simple altruism that made Dah'lis want to help this woman, their was a curiosity that needed to be sated, and perhaps more.

Vasari listened exchange between the two women over the comms and remained silent until the end."If you have a spare pilot to bring my ship as well...I would appreciate it, greatly. I'll have a Landing Zone for a rendezvous as soon as we're out of here."Vasari made a show of looking about the area, she could hear shouts carry on the wind from above - they had discovered the bodies and no doubt were ordering men this way. Vasari pointed towards the mouth of the mine."This way... Lets just get you out of here so they dont try to tear you apart first, then we'll worry about the rest hmm?"The Zabrak Acolyte gave her a half smile and pulled her cloak tightly around her body before looking down into the darkness of the cave.
Zabrak's were hunters before they traveled the stars, their bodies had adapted over the centuries to see in low levels of light. So long as there was a spark or a flicker of a candle they could see for at least a hundred yards in any given direction, the only problem was there was no light in the caves - beyond what the miners set themselves, and even though the First Order had claimed the planet, they had not resumed operations here - at least fully. So when Vasari leapt from the mouth of the cave into the pitch darkness that awaited below she was truly jumping willingly into the unknown.

Dah'lis had to pause for a moment as the Sith seemed to express concern for her. Blinking and once more watching as the lithe woman jumped down into the dark and partially abandoned cave. Then as if the woman had taken what ever warmth was left with her, Dah'lis could nearly feel herself turning a deeper shade of blue as she realized how cold it was. And with this chill came another cold realization, that the Sith was likely trying to manipulate her. But at the moment it didn't matter, they were each others best bet at survival and would have to deal with the consequences later. Hurrying after her new ally, the half Twi'lek let her squad know of the Sith fighter that should also be secured, but didn't bother answering any of the follow up questions.
Not gifted with the sight of a natural born hunter, Dah'lis activated her silver lightsaber, giving off some light. As the two traveled down the mine, the half Nautolan spoke again to her companion. You show a surprising amount of concern for my well being, Sith. I suppose I should be grateful, and at least tell you my name. I am Dah'lis Vao, Knight-Errant of the First Order. And what can I call you... other than beautiful. The words had just slipped out. It was a reflex from her old life, though in this case, not wrong. Holding her composure as best she could, other than some color returning to her cheeks, Dah'lis waited for how this stranger would respond.

They hit the bottom some twenty feet down, not too far a drop, and now that she was down here she could see the unlit lamps that would usually circle the mouth the mine, illuminating this entire place. Before her lay three mine shafts, one she knew stayed pretty close to the surface and was more used for equipment storage and rooms for the workers - it had been mined out centuries ago. Another led to a more active shaft, but not deep enough for what Vasari needed. She needed to dive down into the very depths of the planet to find what she was after, and so without discussing their options, or what she knew with her new traveling companion she turned towards the third open mine shaft and began walking.
She kept a steady pace, not hesitant in the least but still there was something very calm and collected about the way she placed her feet, as if knowing exactly where each step would take her. Her mind exuded a quiet calming peace which was much different from most Sith who seemed to only feel cold to those who could touch the currents of the force. one could tell in moments that Vasari was different. After a few moments the Knight spoke, and Vasari nodded a quiet greeting, not pausing in the slightest when she called her 'beautiful' simply graced her with a charmed smile that could be clearly seen on her tattooed lips in the light of the silver saber.
"I was in that room as well... since i did not attempt to stop you, in the eyes of those after us I am just as guilty of Kram Lesser's death as you are."She let the name hang in the air for a moment gauging the reactions of the blue skinned beauty."Not saying he didn't deserve what he got, i might have killed him myself had negotiations not gone my way. I got most of what i had needed from him so..."She let the obvious go unsaid, she clearly enjoyed watching the tall Muun die.
"My name is Vasari... I am an Acolyte from the Academy on Iridonia. Here on behalf of the Blackguard."
She spoke informally, simply stating the facts but there was something that she was clearly holding back. The deception couldn't be seen on her face, in her body language, or on the currents of the force that surrounded her, but there was something in the words themselves that wouldn't sound right. There was another turn in the shaft and Vasari paused again turning back the way they had came and held out an a hand... a focus more than anything else... as she felt along the waves of the Living Force for any sign of pursuit. After a few moments she turned and took one of the passages that would lead them deeper into the mines.
"I dont have any particular love for the First Order, they burned my home after all... but there seemed to be purpose in what you did back there. And I did not feel the need to oppose that purpose."

As Vasari brought up Kram's name, Dah'lis couldn't hide the look of disgust that crossed her blue face. She had seen more of the Muun in her life than she needed and none of it was pleasant for her, though he likely had a good time until that last visit. But soon her expression softened as she followed the Zabrak. Impressed by the woman's confidence as the plunged deeper into the darkness. Soon though it became clear why Vasari had been eager to help, it was to save her own skin rather than thinking Dah'lis was worth the effort. All the same it seemed she was omitting some facts from her story, if not lying outright, like any Sith would be expected to do. But their was still something about Vasari now that left Dah'lis feeling flat footed and off balance.
I am sorry for what happened to your home, Acolyte Vasari. Dathomir, yes? War is never clean, though I would much rather solve conflicts as I did back in the office. Much to the disagreement of some of my fellow Knights...

Vasari moved through the darkness as if she knew exactly when the turns were coming, which one to take. She led them slowly deeper, the path they were taking twisting and turning but always they were walking down hill. The walls were still black, mined clean of anything of value by expert hands - or a hundred thousand slaves. She wasn't sure which was more likely with the First Order being in charge now. She scoffed at the thought, only realizing that she had done so aloud and then felt suddenly foolish. She listened as Dah'lis apologized and tensed slightly shaking her head, correcting her.
"Iridonia..."She replied somewhat testily as if letting the half breed know that it was not a topic she would discuss any further."A common mistake... And you have no need to make apologies, you kill my friends, my teachers, and burn my home."
She paused turning back towards the Knight as if looking over her face, then the rest of her body appraisingly as a jeweler might assess the worth of a rare gem he had been confronted with, she looked at her for a solid minute in perfect silence and stillness before she nodded her head firmly and turned to continue her path down into the darkness.
"Yup... im sure of it, you weren't there. A body like that I would remember."
It was still fresh for her, the conquest of Iridonia had only been a few weeks back, during the great expansion the First Order had started to form their grip on the Galaxy. For the life of her Vasari couldn't understand why people believed that had to own things. But then Vasari had never owned more than a few changes of cloths and a relic from her childhood. Even the cloak she was wearing now, and the weapon on her hip was stolen - nothing she could claim as hers if asked. That is one of the reasons she had come to this frost bitten world. As if remembering the cold she wrapped her arms around her chest, huddling inside her cloak and rubbed at her breasts. She had read once that when confronted with the cold, you rub your chest for heat, and it would warm the rest of your body - clearly a lie because all she gained from her effort was more of a chill and swollen hard nipples.
"What did he do anyways? You mentioned some assassination... heh... if only it were that easy."

Continuing to be impressed by Vasari's confidence in her choices of tunnels, Dah'lis followed on, still holding her saber above her head to cast as much light as possible. But then Vasari corrected her, it made her blue cheeks flush purple as she blushed at her mistake. But then her face continued to burn as Vasari's eyes began to take in her body. It was a look she was familiar with, looking her over, somehow appraising her value, she always hated it. But not this time, for some reason. She could feel her heart starting to pound faster and almost instinctively she took a slightly more flattering pose, once more a reflex from her life before freedom. Once Vasari had seen all she need or wanted to for the time being and turned away, the Halfbreed realised how weird she most have been and then trying to imitate humans, brushed her Lekku back, to try and seem more casual, for the benefit of her own mind. Her heart still pounding, it seemed to remind her too of the cold surroundings and having been in naught but her body suit for the past few minutes, was very thankful that the Force had been subconsciously keeping her body temperature regulated, but that was a draining effort. Looking down at her hands she could see herself still turning a different shade of blue than she was used to being. But thankfully Vasari spoke again, a very welcome distraction.
Kram? Aside from being a repulsive worm who never knew how to properly use his tongue? He and my former... owner... were involved with other Muun in an attempt on the Emperor's life. He was one of the last who had escaped the initial purge. I guess his ties to First Order business men kept him safe, until I tracked him here.

One of Vasari's prime suspicions was confirmed with the way she held herself under such demeaning attention, and while Vasari had not intended it to be such, she intended her stance to be one of mock intimidation half passed off as a joke about her not being around for the Battle of Iridonia, when she noticed the half twi'lek girl nearly preen for her she was sure of it. She was a freed slave. Vasari suddenly felt self conscious about how she had presented herself up until now, but then again she had taken note of the girls posture and the way she carried herself before. Then she was doing so as a means to determine her footwork as a fighter, but looking back on it now she realized what it had been the flawless grace of a woman taught to accent every positive angle of her own body for the pleasure of others. The thought disgusted her nearly as much as Kram disgusted Dah'lis and she let a silence hang between them until the Knight got around to answering her question.
Vasari gave a soft chuckle about the comment concerning the Muun's tongue, though she had no desire to think of it further after the amusement had passed. Her posture and the words she had said to him moments before his death all made since now as the picture of the other woman's life slowly came together before her. She was just about to respond when the echoing sound of footsteps filled her ears. They were faint but Vasari had been listening for them - sounds of pursuit. By the sounds there were no more than ten of them - which meant they had divided their forces to box them in - several of these tunnels all intersected at the main hub of the mine, and they were approaching it now. It was the only place where they would be able to access the lower shafts that led to the 'deep' part of Dragon's Deep. She quickened her pace but didn't look at all alarmed - they had time enough to reach the hub and prepare themselves before the three groups descended upon them.
"In that case you let him off too easy..."Vasari whispered giving the girl beside her a soft smile. It wasn't bright by any means, but it carried with it a feeling of honesty and purity of intent, she may have acted out of self interest before, but now she believed the man deserved to die."We wont last long like this... neither of us are really dressed for this sort of thing, we need to reach the lower tunnel's quickly, but before we can do that we'll have to rid ourselves of our followers. There is a lift up here that will take us where we need to go... its a fifteen or twenty minute ride down and we dont want it interrupted by a few disgruntled soldiers out for revenge hmm?"
Her eyes flickered down at the girl's hands and reached out to casually take her fingers inspecting the change in color of her skin as they walked. Vasari's circulation was better than most, having two hearts pumping twice as much blood quicker through her body and so it would take her longer to succumb to the temperatures down here, but she would, and when she reached that point it would be difficult for her to survive it either - however Vasari could only hear one heart from Dah'lis' breast when she knew nautolan's to have more... clearly the cross bread of the species had other effects besides the lovely head tails that she could also tell were turning a darker shade than would be comfortable for long. Vasari gently squeezed the girls fingers as if saying 'i'll get you somewhere warm soon' and then dropped her hand and quickened her pace onward down the last stretch of shaft before the main hub.

It took Dah'lis aback a bit when she noted how... sincere Vasari was being. She had had few interactions with Sith in her times and never for this long or in a situation like this. I would have let him choke for longer if time permitted. But then she heard the sounds of boots on stone too. She wanted to turn and face them, but when the Zabrak mentioned an alternate plan, she nodded in agreement. Then her heart seemed to skip as the beautiful Sith took her hand, it was clear what she was doing, but all the same it was something she had not expected. Another skip as the woman squeezed her hand, and Dah'lis offered a trusting smile. Following quickly behind Vasari, the half-breed deactivated her saber, giving less of a clue as to their position and showing a greater trust in her companion.

Vasari led her unwitting partner into the large open space of the hub. Now that the saber was out Vasari was working blind just like Dah'lis, but she was guided by something more powerful than sight. Her instincts and her connection to the Living Force guided their footsteps and Vasari could feel the walls pulling away from them as they stepped into the open room - the first hint that they had come to their destination would be the louder echo of their footfalls, now that the arched ceiling was further away sounds would carry and take time to return to their ears creating the echo. Vasari did not even dare whisper in here, for such a sound would be as an alarm to anyone within a half mile of the dead silent mine. She reached out and took the Knight by the hand and guided her across the cluttered floor towards the lift. She hesitated a moment, as the currents of the force were never accurate in such pin point situations. Vasari was still for a short amount of time, focusing her mind on her surroundings and trusting in the nature of the currents to lead her exactly where she needed to go. She reached out her hand and stepped forward, releasing Dah'lis leaving her alone in the dark for several long moments until finally there was a whir of energy buildup somewhere in the distance, and then lights began to flicker on around the dome they now stood in the exact center of. Vasari appeared from behind a lift shaft that plunged deep into an open pit in the center of the room and Dah'lis found herself standing at the very edge of the drop off.
You are going to have to trust me a little here darlin'...
Vasari opened her mind a little to the girl and reached into her cloak pulling out the curved hilt of a fencing saber. As her cloak came away Dah'lis would notice what she meant by 'neither of us are dressed for this' for beneath the bulk and relative warmth of the Sith cloak she wore nothing but an armor weave breast wrap tied to a shoulder pad of her left arm, and a short, very shirt skirt around her waist. Her body was covered head to toe in Sith tattoos - black designs painted elegantly but deep into the layers of her bright red skin. She tossed off the cloak as her mind sought to connect to the knights, she wasn't sure too much of the girl's training, but she knew her own well enough to know her strengths when it came to this sort of thing - she was a defensive fighter to her core, needing time and preparation to mount a proper offense to overcome any real threat, but working in tandem with one taught and trained to kill they could be a deadly pair.
I'll keep you alive, you kill them as quick as you like... Any idea on what sort of weapons they might be carrying?
There was not much time for the half breed to consider her reply, for the sounds of their pursuers echoed now from three tunnels all converging on this location. This was the only place they would be able to make a stand, and the only hope they had was to clear the advanced group - probably no more than two dozen men in three teams - and be gone before the bulk of the force arrived to reinforce them.

Dah'lis would have been able to assist normally with her own Force sense, but with much of her energy going to maintaining a functioning body tempreture, she would trust wholly in Vasari. Another flutter of the heart as she felt her hand be taken in by her ally. This sort of thing rarely happened to her, any more that is. As Vasari let go of her hand and left her standing alone in the dark, Dah'lis felt a moment of fear wash over her. It was too similar to her days spent locked in her room... no cage. But soon her mind felt the press of Vasari's and a comfort returned to her.
I trust you.
Now able to see clearly for the first time since entering the underground cave system, Dah'lis got a look at what Vasari had on under her cloak. This was no flutter of the heart, but a full skip. But unfortunately, she only had a moment to take in the sight of her beautifully tattooed companion. Readying both saber and whip, Dah'lis looked back into her memory for the brief skirmish in the lobby.
Most I saw were armed with Relby-k23s, but some had A280s. Though this Muun had no qualms about slavery so expect some stun batons as well.
With both adrenaline from the impending battle, and the visage of Vasari still in her mind, Dah'lis would be able to keep warm for the coming fight and utilize the Force a bit more offensively.

Feeling the girl accept her presence within her mind Vasari set the groundwork quickly for half prepared battle meditation. It would have held against another force sensitive or any sort of mental or force assisted attack against her partner, but it would serve them well against the type of thugs they were like to be facing. It would give them each a constant sense of where the other was, when one moved the other could step to cover, or attack in a various direction. It would not be flawless because they had not trained together, and their styles would likely overlap or clash in some regards but did not need to be pretty, it just had to keep them alive. Vasari smiled softly at her the girl and ignited her own blade without the stylistic Makashi flourish that would generally accompany such a weapon. In fact the weapon looked clumsy in her hand, her grip was wrong for the Makashi style and there was no other reason why someone would choose the curved hilt over a straight one - it would be clear to any that knew saber combat theory this weapon was not made by her, or even for her. She turned around and pressed her back gently against the other girls - facing the entry point that the Knight couldn't see, reaching out with her mind to feel the presence of the others.
Take care not to let things go boom... one wrong explosion in this place and it'll all come down on us.
She assumed the thugs coming against them would know better than to try something like that, but still, the warning was a wise one. And soon the echos of footsteps became shouts as orders were passed as soon as the security teams realized the lights were on in the main hub. The energy from the Lift could also be heard - it was on a timer and was currently being pulled up from the lower levels - so for the moment they were trapped.
The teams did not come at once like she had hoped for, they paused to coordinate their attacks with the other teams. Their comm devices wouldn't work down here - too far from the base relay and with too much solid rock between them - so they would be going off a pre-agreed upon timed attack. Unfortunately there was nothing that could be done but wait in the middle of the trap for it to be sprung. They did not have to wait long, for moments later the sound of boots on rock could be heard - this time closer and Vasari could feel their minds through the first current of the force. Vasari exhaled and raised her blade crouching slightly in a Soresu style stance.
The first team broke through into the hub all at once rushing into the room from the corridor and fanning out in a V formation their blaster rifles tight to their shoulders - they had had training obviously but they way they moved - fearlessly towards the two force wielders led Vasari to believe they were a gambit. Vasari waited for Dah'lis to reach hugging tight to her as they stood back to back she shifted her towards the group coming at them just as they opened fire. Vasari danced in a circle around the half breed deflecting bullets rather clumsily with with the awkward blade, but it was effective - it kept the Knight from harm while she planned her attack. The bulk of Vasari's attention however was towards the other two corridors knowing there would be something. There it was... she felt a shift in the living force... hostile intent, deception, thirst for blood. Sharpshooters were taking positions inside the mouths of the corridors barely in sight in the darkness, only visible enough to gain their shots. She exhaled sinking into the second current and moving as if on waves. Then she shifted to one side - exposing Dah'lis from the front just as she expected the girl to make her own aggressive move - and raised her blade at an angle and spun her body just in time to reflect a high powered shot from a sniper attachment back into the mouth of the corridor from where it was fired. She was unsure if she had hit her mark, but she couldn't wait, for a moment later a bolt from the other direction was fired as well - both were aimed at Dah'lis - not her. She deflected this one as well, but this time it was not nearly as clean, and the bolt slammed against the wall of the hub several yards from the corridor it had originated from. All this had passed in the time it had taken the main assault force to clear only half a dozen steps - seconds if not less. And with the initial plan foiled she moved back into position behind the Knight ready for the charge she expected to be coming.
