Its not the location that's the problem. Its the timeline. With a site-wide RP the timeline is very important. Otherwise we'll be all over the place and tying in each location to whats going on elsewhere would be a nightmare.

Ander: yea, I am not sitting around, I am on Dressel; taking the steps to put he team together to run the Yavin blockade. But Corellia as a whole, yes it is just sitting around.

Will, how would you feel about posting some NPC or the like on corellia to meet the twilek slave-like person by its doors, since Kel seems to be a bit preoccupied too...

Ahh okay I was honestly trying to avoid this thread mainly because I just was. But anyway, Corr and I have talked about Honoghr, yes. Why Corr? Because I trust Corr that's why. We still haven't worked out everything which is why we haven't done anything yet and I know Corr is stretched pretty thin as it is....that and there's no hurry for that part of the SL since it's pretty much an assured Mando win considering we have very little defenses and only maybe 3 regular main RPers there at the moment....Zion, Diamonte, and I, and I'm not sure Diamonte is even there in his current timeline. So even if you include all of our alts, because half of the chars you see on Honoghr at the moment are mine and Zion's alts, it's still just mainly two actual RPers for the time being - (Zion and I).
That being said, I hear a lot about "comfort zones"....which is easy to say when you actually like battles. I don't, and anyone who knows me, knows this....BUT, I am willing to give this a shot for the greater betterment of the RP/SL. Corr and I have discussed Honoghr being blockaded. RP would continue as normally as it can with Mando's in space blocking travel/communications to and from the planet. Planet side there may be some Mando's roaming around to keep the peace, get drunk, or play tag in the streets while listening to continuous loops of Justin Beiber and One Direction songs....the dance club mixes.
As I said before, there's no hurry for this portion since everyone's tied up elsewhere. Maybe the Mandos send a probe, or two, to hide out behind one of the moons (there's 3 moons- I suggest hiding behind the moon that Inky carved his name into just so we know OOC where the probe(s) is/are and not get confused when trying to post: "OMG, WHICH MOON IS IT AGAIN?!) and get an idea of the defenses first. IC of course, we'd have little, to no, idea that there's probes behind the moon unless we run a routine investigation or the pilot(s) of Mando ship had a little too much to drink and let us see him in orbit. This can all be discussed further of course.......

Let me just qualify all that follows by saying... this isn't meant to be an angry rant or anything like that (Which it may end up sounding a bit like, but it is not, I promise). It's more a stream of consciousness. Try to take it fairly lightly, I'm not mad at anyone or anything like that. Just ramblingly putting down thoughts.
So. That said:
Yavin being lost doesn't solve anything, and it really flies in the face of the whole motivation behind Yavin agreeing to be a major part of this RP to begin with. It's not the story we want to write. There are also a dozen other reasons besides, ones that it's a little late here (in the UK, I mean) to go into, but the short answer is and will remain no, Yavin is not going to successfully be occupied, not in this arc. It is the one thing I've put into this that is set as is and will remain so. It's not the answer to the problems, and will actually create more than it solves.
It is also actually not holding anything up outside of Yavin, either, except for any plans to come to Yavin. The point of this being bigger than Yavin is precisely why Yavin is not the problem, and precisely why Yavin is also not the solution, and why I'm finding the pressure being put on me to motivate greater posting speeds and story progression (something I am already spending more or less all my JvS time trying to do at the minute, with varying success) particularly unfair. I'm doing the best I possibly can to ensure that Yavin picks up the pace, but it also shouldn't actually matter to anyone who -isn't- part of this Yavin team (save Will and the folks joining him on that first blockade run). So long as your plans are a little more creative than "Lets go to Yavin, where we know fighting is currently happening", then this little moon is not the hold up. Yavin can exist quite happily as it's own little microcosm for a while longer, without affecting anyone outside of it's immediate storyline. If you're not on Yavin, and not a part of the team that Will is joining to come to Yavin, then Yavin doesn't make a blind bit of difference to your character's ability to act right now in this instance. If you're a Mando on Yavin... well, you guys are the flexible ones. You can actually go off planet to fight elsewhere if you wish. You can skip a few days, a week, a fortnight down your own timeline and write what your Mando gets up to after this current, immediate time frame
As I said a few times to a few people in a few other places, the need is for escalation beyond Yavin, with little to no direct relation to the siege on the Praxeum. That can all happen regardless of what's going on on Yavin, and should be happening regardless of that, and actually, the Watchmen, if utilised in a fashion similar to canon, are actually probably the right resource to be facilitating that, at least on the Jedi side. Ossus, Honoghr, Felucia (in some capacity, something within the desires of the writing team there - need to talk to Aer about that), these worlds are all right in the Mandalorian War Path. Something built off of that should be happening - it doesn't have to be fighting, it doesn't have to be sieges or captures or blockades or strikes. It can be RPs built around concern, around worry, about being on the peripheral and looking in on it all from the outside. There's soooo much to be done, so much that could be done, and with a little imagination, this could be the first, actual War RP on JvS that feels like a real war, rather than a string of random battles with no real thread connecting them, with no real feeling of any ripples in the water.
How about peace protests? How about scaremongering? How about shady deals, war profiteering, all of that? We could also look at... I dunno. What about some off camera battles? There are worlds not on JvS, a few hundred of them surrounding Yavin in the Gordian Reach alone, many conceivably outside of Republic jurisdiction, that could be narrated as being hit by Mandalorians. Then we get refugees arriving. We get hospitals (Honoghr?) crammed full of injured. We get aid supplies and all of that stuff.
The important thing is - this needs to come from other people. It needs to not be me and Corr. It needs to come from somewhere not Yavin. We need people willing to do precisely what Will is doing, create alts or NPCs to help bolster the story, such as by creating Mandos - something I've already done, in order to support Corr in the Ossus attack (where I will also have two named Jedi NPCs from my Dav account in the fight). We also need people open to taking a little creative initiative with the threads and storylines that they have control of. This is a cross site war. There is nothing stopping Mandalorian writers in their own right talking to RPers leading Jedi or Force Sensitive Worlds and coming up with something themselves. So long as it fits the overall theme of the war - the primary goal being the extermination or subjugation of Force Users - then it's probably only going to help matters. I'd like to see very real and logical geographical progressions of targets, so that there is an actual "front line", so to speak, rather than JvS' normal hand-waving of the travel implications - that being said, if a logical explanation and solution for running a battle fleet right out to the other side of the Galaxy can be devised, rather than hand waved away, then why not do that? Perhaps that could connect to the Imperials? Perhaps the Mandos find a way of... I dunno... crafting a deal with some kind of Imperial Admiral, or Rogue-ish War Lord, or someone like that? The Imperial in question provides the Mandos with some maps that help the Mandos navigate from the areas around Bastion and the old Remnant out there, skirt the unknown regions, cut through the deep core, letting the Mandos get a strike in at Corellia. Suddenly the Imps have an internal affair on their hands where some NPC Moff is in need of some severe discipline for having provided that information without authorisation, the Imperials have a reason to send ambassadors to the Republic to assure them that this wasn't a sanctioned action, Corellia has action, the Senate have things to react to - and that's three or four big aspects of this RP suddenly all opened up and expanded and enriched, in one swoop.
If I can come up with that in a single post off the top of my head without any real extensive thought, then I know that I'm not the only one capable of birthing some ideas for other worlds, other RPs connected to this. (At least, I hope I'm not.)
So long as people are open to telling this story in multiple places, through multiple sets of eyes if need be, it'll become the RP we want it to be. Like Will (who is contributing pretty extensively too) said, Corr and I are everywhere. I have something like seven or eight different perspectives, and well over a dozen named, major characters, spread right across this war, all being used to tell a different side. I've got kids scared, I've got a politician trying desperately to rally some support, I've got Jedi on Ossus, battle wounded, a medic or two, I've got people on Yavin Station who will soon become POWs, I've got a Mandalorian character... you know what? I'm finding this whole RP so much richer, so much more interesting, for all those different aspects, because despite their very separate locations and perspectives, they're all weaving together towards the same overall tapestry. I am, however, also at my limits for how much I can take a leading role in at once.
I'm not saying that everyone has to do that, far, far from it. But if I can do that all in the hope of fleshing out this war to more than just another series of cookie-cutter JvS stalemate battles (Yavin may well seem to be a stalemate, but it's certainly unlike any other stalemate I've seen on this site), then perhaps, just maybe, there is a little more that can be done by you (and by you, I mean whomever you may be, generic reader person). Wouldn't it be fun to write a Mando? Wouldn't it be interesting to create a character you know is doomed? Wouldn't it be cool to create your own little microcosm RP in partnership with a Mando writer YOU are friends with, just like Ice is discussing with Corr right now? A smaller story that still ties in to the greater whole? Remember, if you set the RP as Semi-Closed, so long as it's clearly laid out somewhere in writing and everyone who participates agrees, you can expand and balance the military forces to make things realistic. A world feasibly CAN be sacked, sieged, blockaded, or out and out captured by one person, so long as the writers on both sides of the battle agree on that. Those limits are only in place for when things are open ended and competitive - and that is not what this has ever been about.

Felucia (in some capacity, something within the desires of the writing team there - need to talk to Aer about that) In all seriousness, I'm not looking to get Felucia involved... at all. For a multitude of reasons. It's been involved in its fair share of overdrawn-out war arcs already, and the last thing I want to do right now is manage and oversee a battle on my own world, especially after seeing the headaches it's giving everyone else. Kudos to everyone else pitching in, but I want the fight to stay away from Felucia. Won't pretend the war doesn't exist, but I'm not interested in any fighting.

First off, Dav: You just lopped the head off the hydra. Every point's a good one. That being said: NO HASHTAGS ON JVS! lol
Will, I'd love to jump onto Corellia. Considering we're only using half our forces for the actual battle on Yavin 4, I can easily select forces to use for an RP on Corellia. We have Black Operations squads that would be perfect for any sort of snatch-and-grab op, information steal, etc. I like the idea of hijacking information the Mandos could use against the Jedi, be it tactical or otherwise. Perhaps the premature exposure of corporate plans that results in a massive stock fallout for a Corellian-based company supporting the Jedi effort? We could hit the economic side that way. (I'm not suggesting that be the outcome, of course, but that information could be made the target)
Just so you know, Will, when I mention our "forces" I don't mean to suggest I'm just wanting to send nameless, faceless soldiers and ransack Corellia. I write our soldiers with backstories, personalities and lives of their own. They're PC's in everything but name. So anything that takes place there will be worthy of note.
I just made plans with Garwig to jump in on a couple Jensaarai missions. One is to Raxus Prime, to gather scrap resources. If anyone on the Mando side is interested in sending a guy or two to tag along, it's all small operation stuff, so more personal level writing.
Also, if you need more "baddies" Dav for Ossus, I'll gladly volunteer for that as well. Rather than wait for an estimate on what might be needed, I'll volunteer a couple of companies of troops off the bat that can be put to sabotage, extortion, or espionage, for example. A mission or two focused on any of those three would be ideal as they fit the situation. I would like to resurrect Delmani Altic for that one, as well. The old Fett clone commando should be able to shed an interesting perspective on GALSAF's situation with the Mandos, which I've been trying to expose through various NPC's.
And Dav, final question:
Anyone tried assassinating that Senator you have?

Well, that's why I wanted to talk to you, Aer, about how we can involve Felucia without bringing some heavy and drawn out fighting stuff to your doorstep, because I know you don't want that. Because, from an IC perspective, there is... very few logical justifications for Felucia being spared, and the few there are are sketchy at best. However, I don't want that to enforce anything on you OOC... so... well, there's half a possibility forming in the back of my brain that isn't quite done cooking yet, but that I think you would actually find much, much more in line with what you want. Something that will serve to give the IC element some explanation, and will avoid the OOC stress side of it that you're hoping to avoid. I won't make any movement on it without your full involvement, of course (and I will ensure the Mandos steer clear too), and it also won't be happening anywhere near what could be described as yet (or even soon). Just an idea that I would, most humbly, as a friend, like you to hear out before writing the whole thing off.
But I'll drop you a PM about that later, once I've tied a few other ends off and I'm not all like "WHAAAAA?!" and stuff.

Thank You.

Yes please.
Delmani would be fun.
He's brand new and fresh out of his wrapper, so no, not yet. He's also not a massive player and therefore not a particularly credible target - yet. His thing (IC) has always kinda been staying just slightly below the Radar, being a former intelligence operative and whatnot. That said, once the whole senate side of thing gets a little momentum, then yeah, that actually would be kinda interesting.

Alright. So what I'm seeing here is, "fuck Yavin, go somewhere else."
We can do that. Why aren't we doing that? Lets do that.
Jesus H, people, it isn't that hard. We can work with a timeline separate from Yavin. That frees up any of the writers in a deadlock on Yavin to join if they so choose, or give it wide berth. That's the beautiful thing about it- we can all write, in any capacity we want to. Fuck all this "comfort zone" nonsense, as Ice called it. We have non-com's. Word. Let them non-com.
Just give the REST of us something to do before we go off our rockers. I don't get a war soon, I for one am gonna start one.
And that just might turn out masterfully.

Ossus should, as I understand, have the green light in the next few days - maybe even tomorrow, if stuff really goes well. But I shall leave that to Devlin to divulge on.
Other targets for the Mandos... well... I can't speak for them, but if anyone wants to talk to their Mando buddies and make some cool stuff occur, then that would be superb.

Delmani it shall be then. I'll need to draw up a new profile for him (hadn't pulled the old one from 1.5 yet), and then he'll be ready to go. Are we "waiting" for a word, or are people good to start heading over there for intros, etc?
I hear ya on the senator. I'll be following your posts with him and I'm sure I'll enjoy watching him develop.

Corellia won't be instant. It would be much cleaner for me if I run Yavin and find plans to hit Corellia and bee line it back. That would be ideal for me as far as Corellia. But I can always NPC defense if Ander and whoever decodes to jump get antsy.
But I am doing what I can to push Fressel to its deserved quality and make a break for Yavin. Smash some bucketheads, bee line to Corellia. Yea...that sounds like a plan.:-P

Good news: Ronan's classes have now finished for the summer, exams and the such are, I believe, done and dusted, so he should be back in action and swinging wildly like a blindfolded drunk child desperate to get at those sweets in the pinata .
