Corr, I'll be jumping a post into Ossus here today. Was editing a picture I wanted to use for it. I'm open to helping out wherever. We have plenty of forces, and I love writing my NPC's, so even if Ander does get frozen in time on Yavin 4, I won't be missing much by just writing for another character perspective…wherever. Cheers.

Hang on Aaron. Are you going in all covert-like to get boots on the ground?

Truthfully Corr? Yes, I am pretty much incapable of writing with anyone other than Adi. He is my personality, in a richer, better looking, in better shape, and more popular body. I've tried several characters in the past, and they just end up fizzling. I don't want to make a character and watch them go poof again. Its a waste of dataspace on the site. Grin all you want, Adi is my boy. I've tried mando characters, sith characters, even a smuggler. They all end up in the forgotten character bin....or end up an Adi clone.

Give me cliff notes on plot and where you need cannon fodder and I will make you NPCs or "alts" or whatever you need.

I've made this mando to help out. Should I post him with the forces at Ossus, or should he be put to use elsewhere?

I NEED to see Adi write another character.
Syren; We need Jedi on Ossus if you're down for that. Cliff notes are basically the Mando vs Forcie's war thingy. Plenty of data on that. Lots of it up there but if you want it in a nutshell I can prolly sort that out.
Hileo; Its entirely up to you, ner vod. Ander is going to rock up on Ossus, hopefully under cover and not blow the surprise, so you can roll with him, or you can take a hand in the fleet thing, be it arriving and going to ground, or flying a starfighter.

I vote on the ground.i might play as a whole squad or something. We will see how the need fits. I will hook up with Ander then.

Yeah, Andi. That's what I worked out with Dewe. Drop in all silent and unnoticed, then spend some time working recon before planning an assault to take the Praxeum. He's given me the rundown on the current state of defenses, as well as the possible writers supporting the defense.

So, do you want me to hold off on the fleet arriving? They've left Dath so IC you'll only have a few hours if that.

This all sounds spiffing.
Adi, dear... why not do what I've done with one of my newest NPCs. Create someone with a character and personality different to Adi, but with a few basic and easy to use defining qualities - IE: he's a gruff bastard. Or he's a wise-cracker. Or he hates fighting and is all about the negotiator role. Some straightforward traits that can be used to give him a little depth and uniqueness. And create the character to, basically, be a short-term, this RP only character. Create one of the faces that fall, one of the souls that are doomed to be lost. That should take the pressure off of you having to spend too much time worrying about his development, and it also spares him from the obscurity of being forgotten - he never gets the chance to get that far, as he falls in battle some point in the coming skirmishes. Give him just enough personality and feeling and richness that there's a bit of a sense of loss about his death, that he's more than just another faceless NPC grunt. It's a simple step between, and it'll help take a little bit of the weight off of other shoulders.
Basically, I've created two Jedi Knights for the battle on Ossus. One of them, I made, photoshopped together a little mini-bio for my profile NPC section for, and set up, purely so he can die, in battle, on Ossus. Who does the deed hasn't been decided yet, only that he doesn't make it out of there alive.
Naturally, I used Sean Bean for this character's avatar.
Because a Sean Bean death scene gives your story gravitas.

Sean Bean dies good its true. I think your NPC should slip on a banana skin and break his neck before the fighting starts. Just a thought... Add comedy to the gravitas.

Ossus will have a ground battle, yes? I'm absolute shite at orbital stuff, is the only reason I'm asking. I can't wrap my head around how to write space battle on this site, and I would just as well not have to deal with it. But should we be able to meet upon the field of battle, I will still be craptastic, but more fun

Whoa, stuff on Ossus is going to start soon? Whoa, whoa, whoa. Let's slow down here. Everyone take a step back and breathe deeply. We all need to consider the ramifications of such an event. Think of the Younglings. I think this means I need Devlin to go meditate in the jungle. Seems like a good time to get him out of the Praxeum. Now we'll see which of my fellow Ossus RPers crawl out of the woodwork. Here's crossing my fingers that the Jedi can win...well, at least fight off the Mandos long enough so Devlin can get out of Dodge. That's where Dav's NPC comes in. Blaster bait. Bolt catcher?
But seriously, I'm looking forward to the coming battle. Hopefully, we'll have a good time.

Definitely going to be ground battles, Sy...at least, I hope so. That's how I have it drawn it out in my head, anyway. Plus, I was hoping the fighting would start mid-prep. So we're caught off-guard. Like the warning/news of Yavin reached us but the attack came almost as soon (something like a week or less later [at most two weeks later])...if that fits with the overall timeline. Not sure how everyone wanted to play it; i.e. how soon after Yavin the attack on Ossus takes place. And if any non-JvS planets were hit along the way. There are plenty within the Tion Cluster, just saying.

LOL. People have been hollering after the start of the Ossus thing for at least a page dude. Ander will be there first and I can always drag out the fleet intro if you need more time.

Yea, I'm with the Hermit, what is the rush guys. . . . . I mean, can we just wait maybe. . . . six or eight more months? I mean, I don't think the authors are sufficiently lulled into boredom.

If you want, I can have a dig round the site, find JvS's slowest posters, and enlist them all in this. That should really spice things up a bit.
Time line wise - the Council, and all of the major Jedi bases, definitely know about Yavin. That would only have taken, at most, an hour to disseminate once the fleets retreated. How serious they take the threat, and how far along the path of preparation they are, well, that is certainly open to some wild discrepancies.
And timeline wise, I figure this battle falls within a week of Yavin. Maybe even just a couple of days.

It IS just a day and a half. The fleet arrived in the Dathomir system at the same time Ashrah was fighting the Vhett boys on the morning of Day 2 was it ?(its actually written in my narration) A few hours, maybe a day at most, and the fleet jumped to hyperspace. Not a long jump to Ossus from Dathomir. I can edit anything that needs to be edited so we're flexible on that.

I think, though, that it should be raining. It always seems to rain during intense battles, these days (in movies). I say we continue the typecast.

I can also put down blaster catching Jedi on Ossus as well. Don't know how much depth or richness of story they will have, but they will have lightsabers and the force.
