There was something about a charity ball.... and.... that's about it, I think, unless we want to start something.

I know people have holidays, end of the year deadlines, finals, family, etc. I think the ball will have to be after the first of the year. But I don't want to loose people because they have no reason to log in. So it would be nice if we could come up with a filler. Something completely meaningless we can debate in the Senate that has no IC effects other than a chance for people to develop characters through debate?

*debates the significance of Crom'nen's lekku*
Oh I say.... what about the 74th Annual Senatorial Bumper Pods?! Elimination! Last pod in the air wins!
...
On that note. Has anyone seen Koronov?

No, I'm serious. A chance for some amount of RP, whatever it would be. I'm been on this site through 3 websites. One thing I've learned is that lulls like this result in people who disappear. We could debate the pros and cons of intergalactic animal trafficking. Or the taxation of alcohol. Or a military uniform dress code (the uniformity and dignity vs. non-human clothing traditions). These are just off the top of my head.
But no, I've not seen Koronov.

On that note. Has anyone seen Koronov? Try sending me a PM next time. It really does work. I might have the results of a Jedi investigation into Sith activity by Seleevan Khar to present to you all for a trial in the Senate ... but then again at my pace it may take months to gather the evidence before I can try to press any charges. And maybe he'll succeed in fooling my investigators... who knows.

Sounds like a fun RP. That said, it's always a pleasure to see you, whenever you come.

I always thought of Crom'nen as more of an asexual being...

Not asexual, just controlled. He believes that vices of all kinds show weakness and can be used to control people, so he fights them.
Except for murder. He kinda has a blind spot when it comes to that. Especially of slavers. On that one, he's just satisfied not being caught.

The trial was because some jedi players who controlled the defense fleet (they no longer play) left Ryloth and Crom'nen is a vengeful politician and a jerk. He didn't murder anyone involved in that.
Yet.
But I have had bored people create slavers on occasion to send to Ryloth for Crom'nen and his people to hunt. The bodies are rarely recovered.

Ah. Well, if they left, you can't murder them. Well, I guess you could in effigy... Guy Fawke's Day or something.
So... Crom'nen usually stomps around on Ryloth then? Occasional appearances in the Senate?

Usually in the Senate, acting as the antagonist within, at least since he was appointed here by another player who controlled Ryloth at the time (also since departed). But he also likes to flit off on an adventure every once in a while, and then he leaves Bel'fima as his acting Senator.

Speaking of Crom'nen, what ever happened to the political backlash from the whole Ryloth and Kuat situations? I thought there would be a push to expel him from the Senate, or at least to ask him to resign his position. Surely a bureaucracy like the Republic needs a sacrificial lamb for that scandal, not just the Jedi trial? I only for IC strategic reasons. Koronov had a bill in the works for Ryloth's defenses and trade between Corellia and Ryloth, and he would feel unable to present that bill until Crom'nen is either replaced or rehabilitated. Right now, it would be political suicide.

The only push from it came from the Jedi. It would have happened internally, if not for IC push back against the Jedi appearing to "order" it for retaliation again the trial. That makes the expulsion of Crom'nen radioactive: no one can touch it without being burned. It makes Crom'nen and thereby Ryloth a "victim" when they are already garnering pity from the Galaxy at large because of the attack. There is also the small matter that it was a covert mission carried out on behalf of the Military Committee, making it a further hot potato. Just how Crom'nen planned it, sniveling weasel that he is.
It was also determined that since he was elected by Ryloth, it was dangerous for the Republic to overturn an election by the people of a member world, making the situation that much harder. So his fate lies in the hands of the Clan Council of Ryloth.
In addition, Crom'nen has yet to retake the mantle of Senator, leaving it in the hands of the far more tactful and innocent Bel'fima. With her in that seat, it makes it easier to pass Ryloth-oriented bills. And since Crom'nen dropped all charges, the whole thing was a bust, again as Crom'nen intended it. That's the long story.
As far as his rehabilitation, that is planned for the Ball/Gala/whatever it is being done as a charitable event to raise support for rebuilding Ryloth. Crom'nen will be a keynote speaker, showing the tragedy there. And as happens in real-life politics, the latest thing in the news cycle changed the appearance and perception of a politician.
Yeah, I know. It's a dick move. I'm the Borsk Fey'lya of our Senate.
