RE the Jedi Council rep to the Senate, the Council members seemed to take turns in the days of the Old Republic; Yoda and Mace Windu both went at various points, and others might have to, though I can't recall for certain, so perhaps instead of tying it down to any one Jedi Council member (and running the risk of even more consolidation, which I know Will wants to avoid), shall we just agree to go with whichever council member is available at a given time to speak to the senate can be their representative?
As for VC: both Crom'nen and Darma would make interesting choices. Darma, I know, is up for his character being assassinated - it could be quite fascinating if that happens, leaving a potential upheaval in the senate as a major figure is killed. Crom'nen would also be an interesting addition as he's shady as all heck - next to a relatively straight and honest Chancellor, a corrupt VC would make an exciting dynamic. If we say it's a choice between those two, and vote from there, maybe?

Hapan princess, go join me on the Hapes OOC and lets get things rolling. If I can get you two to rule, perhaps I will do more mundane tasks, guard and security and shipyards, etc.

I'm trying to get myself warmed back up to RPing. Maybe this Hapes thing can do that.

Should I just do it? It really just does not seem fair at all. No one ever complained about me doing both jobs, did they? (Well, actually, some people did, but it never stopped us...)

i've laid claim for the Republic and jedi for Corellia, Coruscant, Mon Calamari and Hapes. If you are from or write on a planet, you should make sure you have establish a presence there, people.

If we say it's a choice between those two, and vote from there, maybe? As for the Jedi Council idea yes that is much better then what I thinking. For VC how about Darma and once Darma is taken out I could RP a suggestion IC Crom'nen take over? Since my planet recently joined and a lot of the people Senator Liet Medon answers to are power hungry, putting forward a shady VC in an attempt to push Utapau's influence in the Senate would make a lot of sense. I am more then happy to play the corrupt senator who kriffs everything up.

If there is concern over you having to much power we can make it clear that you are willing to be replaced. Plus, a Chancellor is not always extremely powerful. If your VC dies I mean it wouldn't be crazy for a vote of no confidence which, if failed you would still be Chancellor but the Senate would be divided and you would be kind of a lame-duck. (unable to get anything passed you wanted. Basically the GR would be like the USA. . . JK) An RP like that sounds fun to me and then no one can say you have to much power because you can't really do anything with all this going on.

it's not the character so much as the writer who has the power. And a lameduck refers to someone who can't do anything, but rather has no prerogative to .
But whatever works. I did write the flipping constitution we are theoretically operating under. But the Senate as a body has never really done anything of value or worth besides creating itself since its conception. So there really has not been any reason to bog things down in semantics. I do like the idea of more political guile. Cilhbar has received flack and scrutiny on the domestic due to the civil unrest going on at Dac (as there usually is). Something that can be used against him in the whole vote of no confidence; then again, I can walk you through a myriad of other reasons why IC he is the best for the job-- but that is not the point here.
It would be hard to exercise influence over Crom'nen, but it would be interesting to see you try.

Will, for better or worse, you're seen as trustworthy, so you're stuck with it brother.
How about Crom'nen nominated for VC, but as he is off planet, my NPC rep Bel shoots it down. Half the fun of Crom'nen is his belief that there are two kinds of powerful people, those who have influence, and those who influence the influencers. He believes true power resides in the latter group, so he resists titles to be in the second group. But with Darma eliminated, he might have little choice.
Also, just so you all are aware, I might not be real available anymore for a while, but I'll do my best.

And I have returned the post, to both of you, Plu Or'dinii and Dav Man'SellAs for being elected VC, I would be honored to serve the Republic as VC. Though I am still allowing bounty hunters to pursue him, so Crom'nen don't get far out of touch, you may yet be our only hope.

Then we'll get Morgan Calmcacil in to replace Crom'nen.

It's perfectly plausible that there would be other Princesses. One of those Hapan princess is me. Been here since 2009 playing one. I never RPed anything with the royalty though, as my character's main goal was to get away from that life. That said, for a while now I have been looking to possibly join another character to be Nika's sister left behind on Hapes. So, I am willing to help out as long as you can try and respect my back story as it has been for 4 yearsHow many princesses can hapan possibly have? I have been in great contemplation on making a hapan, but really didn't know the rules when it came to royalty so to speak as in how many ruling family members or ruling members period could exist. Can anyone shoot their best answer to me? Thank you.

true, but then what hope is left once Crom'nen takes a fall Ordo, my friend, there is no reason for Crom'nen to take a fall. He'd take the Mandos over the Jedi any day.

Actually there is a reason, there's a price on your head Crom'nen; similar to the one on Darma's head, just wondering if the Republic had a second back-up plan( which they do in the form of Morgan Calmcacil as mention by the Jedi Dav) for the position of VC

... totally joking about Morgan. Although we perhaps should put Syla in charge of the Senate.
It, as we all know, would be hilarious.
