So, where do you want to take your career in the Jedi order to. Or is it just a means to end for you.Von played with his knife then looked up at Jade as if he wanted to tell her what he wanted to do but tried to be sly.

*Jade thought about what she'd like to eat, and settled for something slightly different.* "I'll take a nerf steak and a water."
*She watched as the droid took her order and left to have them prepared. She then looked to Von.* "Right now I'm not sure what I want my place to be with the Jedi. Until I understand what I'm capable of as a warrior, as a person, trying to figure out something that's beyond my full understanding doesn't serve much purpose yet. I know I want to use what I have to help people, but how I can best do that is still an unknown. So for now, it is a means to an end."

Von leaned back in the seat as he listened to Jade speak, what she spoke had real emotions emanating with each word that she spoke. He could understand where she was coming from. Taking a sip of his drink he sighed and stared at the ceiling for a moment.
I understand what your saying and I agree with it thats why. You should know that I have been trying to think of ways to use my ability to be in touch with the dark side to use it for the Jedi's advantage. I was thinking of becoming a Jedi Shadow, I heard some of the other knights talking about it and I am interested in something along those lines. I know I can never be happy following the same path as Kulaan or my Master. Their ways of living just won't my taste.

*Jade looked down at the table. What were her "tastes?" It was a question, as she had said, could only be answered in time, but it still left her confused and unsure of what lay before her. But her attention moved along to Von's words and what he hoped to achieve. To use the dark-side for the Jedi seemed radical in a sense. Could it even be done? Her father had told her of Jedi who could step into the darkness a bit and use it, but it wasn't the same. She had only experienced the dark-side for a short moment, but what she gained from it drove her away from the idea of using it.*
"While it sounds like a good idea for you, I don't think that's a path I could follow."

Von sighed and looked down at his food that had just and back down over to his drink. Jedi life was not something he could do straight as a Jedi. It wasn't in him, but he had no where else to go.
I know you're right Jade, and I also know that I have to figure this out on my own. It could just be doubt or the jitters but one day I am going to have to make a decision on what path I am going to have to walk down. An I fear that on that day, my entire world...no my entire universe will be flipped upside down. In the back of mind I sense that one day, something will be created from my past, present and future choices that will alter everything that we see today, how we live life and how we view this existence. But that is just me rambling on about nonsense.Von took a hard and long sip from his drink. The alcohol was bitter and strong but it dulled his pain and made things easier.

*Jade looked down at her food, suddenly not feeling hungry. The discussion had begun to weigh on her mind. She had come her, partially out of fear of the darkness, a darkness she wondered that still lay inside, and partly because of her father's suggestion. But had she taken the time to think about what her path would be? It was clear that she hadn't. All she knew was that she wanted to find a way to understand her power to help others.
Looking back to Von, she thought on his words. Suddenly, she spoke, her mind not giving her any time to think.*
"Well, you may have to figure it out on your own, but it doesn't mean you have to walk the path alone."

The LastDark Club 8:00 PM
Kronos Marek entered the establishment. His Jedi studies were going fine, but he wondered about the Force and what it meant to truly be in balance. He understood the dangers of the Dark Side - it could be addictive and control could be difficult. He hadn't been a Jedi Knight long and was already questioning these things. There was a need for him to have things balanced and he was unsure of how to accomplish that. Was there balance to be found in embracing both?
"The Force always strives for balance. The Light Side cannot exist without the Dark Side. Both must exist, and both must be embraced if we are to find balance within ourselves."
Those were the words he had written in his journal only moments before leaving the Academy to come here. Kronos wondered at them - wondered if they were heretical. They were the words that drove him here. Kronos walked to the bar, slightly stooped over, the weight of his thoughts carrying him. The bartender approached as he took a seat.
"Corellian double-brandy please." Kronos said after the man asked what he would like.
When the order was filled, Kronos sipped at it - alone with his thoughts.

The transport vessel rotated as it descended above an empty docking bay until the ship was resting on its skids. Exhaust hatches were opened releasing a spray of smoke & funny smelling fumes into the air just as the cargo ramp hit the ground. Alright kid I'm not paying you for nothing, lets get this cargo loaded off the ship I'm expecting our contact to arrive shortly. Being called 'Kid' wasn't something Jensin enjoyed but this guy was alright and if there was anyone he could look up to it was him, the fifty year old white bearded man named Sheamus. He would let Jensin travel with him from port to port delivering goods to those who required it, goods like small ship pieces, small yet important to keep a ship together. There was nothing illegal or dirty behind it either, they both worked as respectable sales men trying to make a living in this forsaken universe. A couple more months of this boy and you could get a ship of your own. Sheamus said as Jensin rolled the cart full of crates down the ramp and into the open area beside the ship. Following behind Sheamus stopped his cart and crossed his arms resting them down against the top of the crates at chest elevation. Just imagine how much credits we could make by expanding our horizons and reaching out to those who cant get to places like Coruscant or other construction stations throughout the galaxy. Places where people really need help in getting by, Tattooine for example!
Jensin looked over at Sheamus, who had high hopes for this work. While it was profitable it may of not been worth it yet when he looked at Sheamus sometimes he could see it in his eyes that all he wanted to do was help people get by and building ships was his passion, this was a way he could help people. Promise me you'll stay away from the Hutts. That's everything your not and everything about those slime balls stink, we're better off Sheamus. Trust me. Though he knew Jensin was a thousand times right he didn't want to see his business die, perhaps he was just to attached personally since it was his father who taught him about ships and what they're made of. He clenched his hand around the lever as the crates lowered to the floor, he removed the cart and was about to go up the ramp for more until he noticed the familiar cylinder shaped weapon dangling from a cloaked humanoids belt. He moved just beside Sheamus looking out into the city just near the docking bay entrance to those people carrying weapons. They're Jedi.. He said with a hint of wonder.
Sheamus looked out the same way and spotted the three people under the heavy looking cloaks. Sheamus never thought much of the Jedi or even their famously known opposites called the Sith, at his age he knew a bit of something about them and as long as he could remember they've been at war where nothings good come out of it. Oh are they now, how do ye know that then.
Then with a yank from at his side Jensin removed a similar shaped hilt yet it's design was slightly different. Sheamus was actually surprised to know this kid had been carrying around a Jedi weapon, Jensin looked at it holding it in the palm of his hand. I think they call it the Lightsaber.
Sheamus raised his right brow and leaned in. What are you a Jedi now? How did you get that.
He looked over at Sheamus who had become so concerned all of the sudden. He placed it back on his belt before the old man got any ideas of taking it on him, Jensin thought back when he first spotted the hilt. I found it, that time we stopped at Yavin IV because there was something wrong with the hyperdrive. I didn't steal it if thats what your wondering!
Sheamus thought about that but looked at him squarely when he realized something quickly. We just came from Yavin. He said with a sigh. He shook his head before pulling his cart out from beneath the crates. Lets get the last two and get this over with, I need a drink.

The bartender approached as he took a seat. "Corellian double-brandy please." Kronos said after the man asked what he would like. When the order was filled, Kronos sipped at it - alone with his thoughts. By now the LastDark was mostly filled with its usual night-time patrons, those who habitually came here to see, be seen, and as always, watch the sun set over Coronet City, Corellia's capital. Up here it was easy to forget the darker side of life, the evils that existed just over the horizon. That wasn't what brought Nalatua'lin out though. She enjoyed the music and the atmosphere. It was relaxing to be somewhere other than the Jedi Academy, and of late she was becoming more introspective. The arrival of Five had caused questions and suspicions and forced her to think about her family back on Ryloth.
There was a slight bustle of activity near the entrance to the club, but the doorman recognized the statuesque Rutian Twi'Lek easily and waved her through. The ankle-length skirts of her tunic rustled softly as she headed over towards the bar. She smiled at the bartender and collected a flute-like glass of a lavender beverage that sent tendrils of bubbles up to the surface of the liquid. Lekku twitched in accompaniment to her quiet word of thanks as she turned to look over the patrons. She recognized most of them on sight, but the figure of Kronos Marek seated alone, seemingly lost in thought made a meticulously drawn eyebrow crook upwards sharply. He seemed a bit troubled about something.
The Healer headed over towards him and lightly placed her unoccupied hand on the back of the chair next to him. "Has this seat been claimed?" she asked gently.

*Kronos sipped at his brandy, and realizing the glass was almost empty, he contemplated ordering another. He wasn't here to get drunk; Kronos didn't do that, but the brandy was good. One more wouldn't hurt, but he waited anyways. His thoughts weren't pleasant and adding booze onto that while he was alone wasn't a good idea. He let the barkeep attend his other customers while he continued to think.*
*His thoughts were interrupted by someone approaching him. A hand was placed on the chair next to his own and Kronos looked up to meet the gaze of Nalatua'lin, a Healer from the Academy as she asked if the seat was claimed. Kronos offered her a smile.* "Nalatua'lin." *He said, bowing his head in respect.* "No, it's not been claimed. Please join me." *Kronos gestured at the seat.*
*Her presence made him feel a little less melancholy. He gestured for the bartender. Another drink wouldn't be bad with some company.* "Another one of these please." *He gestured at Nalatua'lin.* "And please put her drink on my tab."

A barely perceptible tug within the Force pulled the chair out as she set her drink on the table and seated herself. She pulled her chair forward in the normal fashion and then turned to look at Kronos. Her arrival seemed to have temporarily jolted him out of whatever reverie was claiming his attention. "Good evening, Kronos," she replied in a friendly-enough fashion, tchunn draped in front of her, the shapely lekku curling gently before relaxing, while tchinn hung down her back.
Painted eyebrows arched inquisitively, though when the server looked over at her, she nodded in acquiescence. "Thank you. Next round is on me though. What do you think of the LastDark?" she asked, taking in the club's interior with a gesture as she picked up her glass and took a sip of her Veronian berry wine.

*Kronos noticed the servers look and Nalatua'lin's nod of approval. The offer to purchase her drink was just one of friendliness, but must not have been something that Naltua'lin received or liked often. She informed Kronos that the next round was on her. Kronos would gladly accept. He wondered what brought the Jedi Master to the club tonight and why specifically she had come to him. He was glad for her company, however.
At her question, Kronos rotated his chair slightly to look at the club. For the first time he really got a good look at the place. It was lively - people were being social - drinking and talking. A few couples dotted the seats. Live music was playing. The atmosphere was rather nice. Kronos got a glimpse of the sun setting over the city. It was a breathtaking sight.*
"You know, I grew up here, and this is the first time I've seen the sun set from here." *A slight sigh issued from Kronos, and he turned to face the Twi'lek* "It's quite a lively place. I like the atmosphere. It's very relaxed. The music is nice. Seems like a nice place to come to a little more often."
*Kronos loved life at the Academy, but sometimes it was just nice to get out. Kronos took another drink from his brandy and savored the flavor of it before swallowing.*[/color] "Master Nalatua'lin, if I may ask, what brings you here tonight?" *Kronos asked her quizzically. He hadn't expected to see another Jedi, much less a Master here.

There was nothing like the silence of an empty ship and that silence was all his. Perhaps the end of time would prove to be more elegant when all life seized to exist. In is hand he held a bottle of booze he'd bring to his lips as he lid back in his bunk with a smirk now awaiting for morning when they would depart from Coronet. He shifted his body up right and planted his feet onto the cold floor, a hollow spine chilling sound whistled threw the corridor that suddenly seemed a lot more long and narrow then it usually did. It became colder as his breath was visible and he had a strange feeling that he was not alone here on the 'Naraudia's Flame'.
Despite the horrifying feeling he just had, his mind just pondered on the idea of why Sheamus chose Naraudia's Flame as a ship name. Though there were many names that were running around worthy of questions, but right now it was here on this ship that he was in danger. Jensin stumbled just after he stood up but caught himself against the wall when he grabbed for his blaster on the floor still in the holster beside his pants. Had he passed out after having a couple of drinks? He sure did not remember getting up and undressing himself, in fact where the hell did he get the booze, Sheamus had none in stash and the old guy wasn't even back yet. As foolish as he looked Jensin tip toed into the hall in just his shirt and underwear, becoming cautious with every corner he passed. He stumbled yet again over a container and fell out into the main room, his blaster sliding across the floor. He crawled for it nearly seeing double as his arm reached out towards it little did he know he still had two meters crawl. When jensin finally came within reach a high heeled boot came down upon the blaster. Easy there, we don't want things to get messy here. I'm surprised your still awake. By the second after he'd sat upright he knew things were getting strange. Easily coming to the conclusion that he was drugged, but by whom was the question as he rolled over onto his back and looked at the woman looking down at him. You should be out for the night by how much a slipped into that bottle.. When and how was the question on Jensins mind until he thought of Sheamus and how much of a talker he could be when he got drunk. She knelt down and grabbed his blaster away from his fingertips just barely touching it. Maybe when you wake up and you've forgotten everything that's happened we could go on a real date huh? She said sarcastically then placing the blaster up on the table top where he could not get to, he watched her move towards a cart full of expensive goods. He was trying to get the blaster, but it just seemed to far away. He knew it was out of reach but he kept on reaching for it like the obvious didn't matter when suddenly it rattled on the table top causing her to stop and look back after hearing the rattle. It moved some more until it fell into his hands, he became extremely focused while unknowingly channeling a great amount of force to bring himself back to health. She stopped in her tracks with the blaster aimed directly at her. How - you took enough to bring down a Rancor!
She said to him obviously exaggerating since that much would probably kill anything his size, he was now back on his feet with his arm stretched to full length, the end of the barrel aimed directly at her as a smirk crept along his mouth. How about you let go of that cargo and maybe I'll take you up on that date..
Clearly she saw this as an opportunity, but to what extent was the question. She let go of the cargo when suddenly Sheamus arrived walking up the ramp noticing the girl with his cargo, so he assumed Jensin was moving around cargo as he walked in speaking up before he noticed him. I'm happy you two are already acquainted!
He said when noticing Jensin in nothing but a shirt and underwear, his eyes widened in shock as he looked back to the girl and then towards Jensin who'd waved at him. Well this awkward, look I'll just give you the short story. She planned on stealing from us after drugging me but not until she got some of thi-
Sheamus wavered his hands in front of himself shutting jensin up. She's my daughter.
and suddenly, Jensin's throat went dry. ..of- uh - some of our cargo SHE was stealing as you can see! He said motioning to her. Sheamus. He knew he was screwed. Backing up and gripping his blaster tight until he ran for it to lock his door shut behind him in his room. Threw the window of the door Sheamus motioned to his neck as he swiftly slid his fingers across it before going back out to her.
Jensin never saw Sheamus angry before...and now that he did he thought being digested by a sarlaac would be paradise right now. Especially in this situation. He just had to mouth off like he always did and make matters worse, he stopped, raising a brow as he thought of something. Naraudria's Flame...is..named after his daughter? He slumped back down on his bed in horror.

It was every now and then Jensin would have his nerve up to walk out there and speak to Sheamus. ''Man to man. He will respect me as an adult! '' Though every time he got his nerve up he recalled his crazy eyes threw the screen with his fingers sliding across his neck skin, he could only imagine now Sheamus hiding out there somewhere ready to shank him dead. His head fell into his sweaty palms when suddenly he heard a knock on the door, there he was calm as ever. We're taking off, I need you up front. We'll deal with recent events later..
You're not gonna take me to space and eject me from an airlock are yah Sheamus...buddy? He said giving out a nervous laugh until he left the door, Jensin stepped outside and followed him up to the front of the ship just after noticing his daughter sitting at a small table by herself. He was about to take a seat until Sheamus sat in the co-pilots chair. I need you to fly Jensin, just trust me.
Wasn't this strange, Sheamus allowing him to fly his ship. He shrugged and took the controls thinking to himself there was a first to everything, Jensin chuckled as he gripped the control looking over at Sheamus. Isn't this an inappropriate time to let me pilot this ship...I mean do you really want me to handle Naraudria like this? Naraudria's Flame, name of the ship, name of his daughter. One day those jokes will get him killed. Sheamus glared at him, his eyes like darts hitting him. Jensin thought to himself that he'll have to get use to treating Sheamus more like a father of a child rather then a buddy in these topics from now on. Though he did as ordered and ignited the engines as he took the ship up and out of the station then towards orbit.

Everyone knows about it, or has heard of it, but not everyone finds their way here." Guessing that he was wondering about her presence here she continued with, "I come here frequently to stay in touch with the pulse of life in Coronet City, to listen and feel, and stay informed. I think I can better serve the Academy and Corellia by doing so."
She picked up her glass and eyed the floating bubbles as they streamed up to the surface of the translucent lavendar beverage. The statuesque Tw'Lek eyed her opposite over the rim of her glass before taking a sip of her drink. "I suppose that answers your question? In terms of specifically tonight, I can't tell you that I was seeking you out on purpose. Although that may have been the will of the Force. What is on your mind?" She wondered why he'd chosen tonight to visit the LastDark. From what she'd seen of him, he tended to stay around the Academy, although she suspected he had various things that occupied him.

*Kronos frowned at her question, although he had expected it eventually. Nalatua'lin had surely noticed how he was brooding before and likely it was the reason for her asking to join him. He took another sip of his brandy - liquid courage might be needed. He didn't know if he should tell the Jedi Master about his vision or not. He didn't know what would happen. Then again, he hadn't acted on it, except for thinking on what he saw.*
"I've been thinking on a vision I had, Master." *Kronos frowned again, a part of the vision disturbed him, another part called to him - telling him that it was right.* "I was surrounded by darkness, then by a bright light - it wasn't until both intermingled that I could see clearly."
*Kronos drink was empty and he fidgeted with it, making the ice clink back and forth. He knew he shouldn't be nervous. After all, he should have asked a Master about it anyways, but there was fear there; fear of what they would think. Kronos didn't say more, letting Nalatua'lin interpret the vision on her own.*

*As Kronos contemplated it, he wondered if telling the Master about his true thoughts on the vision would be ok. He looked at the ice in his glass instead of at her as he spoke, feeling slightly guilty.*
"Master, it's really what I think this vision means that has me bothered. I'm not sure how I feel about it."

Nala sipped her berry wine calmly, lekku twitching sympathetic replies to Kronos' words even though he would not know the nuances of Twi'Lek gestures. It was an instinctive habit to her, one that not even extended residence among aliens had banished. While there could be several things that such a vague vision could portend, several interpretations came to mind. However, she let Kronos continue, though he was obviously disturbed by his thoughts. She'd found that humans sometimes just needed someone to listen, and while they talked, they worked out their own solutions. When he paused and looked over at her, she took a drink of her lavender wine and peered at him over the rim of her glass for a second before setting it down and leisurely crossing one leg over the other. Sometimes a relaxed appearance also helped.
"And what do you think it means, Kronos?" she inquired calmly. "You seem troubled, concerned, and embarrassed...perhaps even a trifle guilty. Why? If this is something that genuinely bothers you, there is no need to talk yourself out of it by attributing self-doubt."

*Nalatua'lin looked relaxed. She had asked him what his interpretation was. He looked at her for a moment, remaining silent. The bartender came over and asked if he'd like another drink. Kronos wasn't feeling too bad, but another drink of hard liquor wouldn't be a prudent choice. He ordered the blue wine that Nalatua'lin was drinking, and the bartender quickly filled his order. Kronos sipped at it, and admired the flavor. It wasn't a bad wine. Then he met her gaze once more.*
"I've been thinking a lot about balance Master - specifically about the Force. This vision has me thinking about balance in the Force. Look at history - Light side beats dark side - dark side comes back. Dark side beats light side, and the light returns. It's almost as if the Force is making this happen - neither one can be defeated because they are both two sides of the same coin. What if..."*Kronos hesitated, taking another nervous sip of his wine as he did so.* "What if the answer isn't light or dark, but light or dark working in unison. Not necessarily Jedi and Sith working together - but within the individual. I'm wondering if the Force is pushing me to find this balance within myself."*Kronos set his glass down, and surprised himself by being able to still look at the Jedi Master.* "I understand, Master, that this line of thought is dangerous. It is why I am troubled."

And the conversation came full circle to a question of balance. Nala took a long contemplative sip of her bubbly drink before setting the fluted glass that was now nearly empty on the table between them. One artificially painted eyebrow arched quizzically as Kronos acquired his own glass of bubbly Veronian berry wine. Judging from his lack of overt reaction to it, the experience was not unpleasant.
"Hmm, well, I wouldn't advise you to make that opinion common knowledge among the students at the Academy yet," sometimes people did need to be protected, but only until they were able to handle more responsibilities, "however, the question of balance has been hotly debated throughout the Order at various times over the centuries."
The Twi'Lek considered. She herself thought the Old Republic Jedi had led to their own eventual downfall by ignoring or denying the most basic aspects of being. With their rules they had driven Anakin to the Sith practically. However, that wasn't the most popular stance to take within the Order. She smiled faintly.
"I would think the danger truly lies in how you define that balance that you seek within yourself, Kronos. For instance, if you mean that for every good thing you do, helping others, you then have to go slaughter someone---" grey eyes peered over at him, "but, if balance means recognizing your own strengths and weaknesses, then that is to be sought for I think. Like Mace Windu for example, one of the most celebrated historical Jedi, yet some thought he skated close to the Dark Side by enjoying the heat of battle. I would posit that that attitude is what made him the Jedi he was. We need people like that, just as we need the others who's enjoyments lie in other areas, like healing."
"We all have a part to play."
