The Dark Diamond Palace is the central location for Iridonia's government, and is the primary residence of the Iridonian Emperor, his hands, and the elected council body which is largely made up of prominent clan members of strong houses.
The palace was designed as a pyramidal structure, with a primary central turbolift in the center, hangar, security and medical bays at the base, the throne room at the peak, and conference and residences on various levels in between. Below ground is an interrogation room leading to prison cells specifically designed for force users, due to the abnormally high population of force-sensitives among the Zabraks.

A number of Iridonia's planetary defense force, about twenty thousand in total, were hauling massive objects through streets deliberately closed off for several days. This was one of three ground emplacements around the planet; a v-180 ion cannon, to be installed at the Dark Diamond Palace, firing from the tip of the pyramid upward. The troopers set to work bringing the various parts up to the very top and setting up conducive construction zones within to begin installation right away.

Installation of the ion cannon was at 100% completion. The engineers tested it out by retracting it in and out. In time, they'd have to test the weapon itself on space debris. But that was for a later time.
From outside the Palace pyramid, the top triangle slid open to reveal the cannon's ballpoint. It gleamed against the eternal sunlight for several minutes as the engineers inside took in notes of the initial dry run. Calculations for trajectories, angling, rotation, emplacement sturdiness, etc. Once completed the dome slid back in to the pyramid, and the engineers and all work crew made haste to polish the ion cannon and arm it for its first legit firepower test.

The twelve Atmospheric Assault Landers touch down in the massive courtyard before the Dark Diamond Palace.
With each AAL holding twenty soldiers, a combined total of two hundred forty Sith Troopers were present. Major Kage was in the reflective golden hued armor. Twelve were in the reflective crimson hued armor and the rest of the soldiers were wearing the traditional reflective silver armor. While certainly seeming dated, these Sith Troopers were the best of the best. Sporting the Mark V Sith Trooper Armor, these troopers were at the cutting edge, standing on par with the First Order Stormtroopers.
As a sea of silver armored troopers poured out of their transports, accompanied by their crimson armored leaders, Major Kage and Viox Savage strode of the lead transport together. The golden armored Major tapped the side of his helmet, then nodded and spoke to Savage.
Sir. The Landers need to head back to begin deploying troops into the city.
Savage merely nodded as he strode up to the front of the Dark Diamond Palace. Kage issued orders to the pilots of the Landers and they lifted off once all their troopers had been deployed. TIE/fo fighters streaked overhead, twin ion engines screaming loudly as they went.
Savage had a plan. With the city's defenses now sufficiently stirred due to his arrival, he needed to shut down the hangar bays at the Palace to prevent more enemy fighters from harassing his ships. Once the fighting in orbit was complete, he would deploy a Vic II to Wortan and the Sith Academy to ensure no resistance remained once he had successfully taken Malidris. Once the leader of the Iridonians was placated, he would order a cease fire to his forces as well as the defenders of Iridonia.
As Savage strode into the Hangar Bays of the Palace, two squads of Sith Troopers formed up on him and followed. The rest of the squadrons were busily securing the central plaza and ensuring the resistance fighters were kept at bay. All in all, the invasion was going as planned, considering an invasion wasn't actually planned.

So without hesitation Alex went for it. He managed to enter the courtyard of the palace. All of his uses of force abilities tired him out quite a bit. He wouldn't be able to use anymore if he wanted to be ready to join his master. Now all he has to do is evade patrols and find a way he could sneak through with engaging sith troopers when he didn't need to. So Alex moved in and out the shadows hiding behind crates and speeders, when patrols went by him. Alex felt that this was wasting time, but he would continue on with this strategy until it proved to be ineffective. Alex looked around the crate he was currently hiding behind and saw that no one was near the hanger bay entrance right at the moment. The only problem that Alex faced here is that if a patrol were to come by as he's making his way to the entrance he wouldn't have any place he could quickly hide and wait for them to pass. Alex thought on this for while longer all the while watching to see if anyone was coming.

Alex finished making up his mind, he was going to take the risk and go for it. Alex started to run towards the hanger bay entrance. In a matter of moments he would be inside and one step closer to joining his master. Sweat was starting to run down his forehead, after all he had come a long way in a short amount of time.

The Nebula-Class Star Destroyer of the First Order Navy, the Legacy of the Void, hung in the sky over the Dark Diamond Palace. Having been routed away from a direct assault against Starport Velecta due to a V-150 Planet Defender Ion Cannon, the Void had taken up residence near the Palace. Lord Savage stood on the bridge of his ship, distracted. He had just sent a report in to Imperial Strategic Command, updating them as to the current situation on Iridonia. But that's not what was distracting him.
Larissa was the one distracting him. He was still having a hard time wrapping his brain around the fact that she was still alive, and supporting the former Iridonian government. So many pieces didn't fit. So many questions were raised, without any readily available answers. So many long buried emotions came bubbling forth, and he was having a hard time dealing with it.
He shook his head to clear the unwanted thoughts and turned to the Void's XO, Commodore King.
"Get me a shuttle down to the Palace. It is time to put an end to this little charade and declare my true intentions."
King acknowledged him with a quick nod.
Within a matter of minutes, Savage was exiting the shuttle and striding up to the Dark Diamond Palace's main entrance. As he entered the palace, he was immediately flagged down by Major Kage...

Larissa lounged in the bath until the water began to grow cold. She sighed and pulled the drain. She walked back into her bedroom and hunted through her closet. She set aside an outfit for her companion to wear upon waking. It always pays to make a good first impression. Finally she pulled out a blood red gown with black lace accents and a low neckline for herself. She quickly laced herself in and walked back into the main room. She settled herself into one of the chairs that gave her a beautiful view of the city and motioned for Gemma to brush her hair. Gemma gently ran the brush through Larissa's hair and coiled it expertly at the back of her head.
"Milady, should we expect Lord Savage here soon?"
"Not quite yet. He'll go to meet with the Council first. And when I'm not there, the Councillors will send him here. I set aside an outfit for Ly to wear. First impressions are important."
"You know Ly will do just about anything for you. Wearing that outfit shouldn't be a problem."
"Thank-you Gemma. We'd be lost without you."
Gemma smiled and quickly made her rounds. She adjusted furniture, dusted the immaculate tables and repositioned paintings. After all, it wasn't everyday that you mistress was visited by a Sith Lord. Or was it?

Larissa sat quietly thinking over what she would say to Viox when he arrived. She let her mind wander, reaching around the Palace. The angry countenance of Viox's presence hit her rather hard. He was very close to her room.
"Gemma, get Ly dressed. Lord Savage will be here any moment. I will let him in myself."
Gemma scurried off to Larissa's bedroom as Larissa herself rose and swept across the room. She stood with her back to the door, taking in the view for a last minute of calm. She had no doubt that he would burst into her room. She was prepared for such an outburst. After all, he had had no idea that she was even alive for the last five years. She listened to the murmurs of hushed speech from the other room, as the sound of footsteps drew ever closer to her door.

Savage strode towards Larissa's chambers. He could feel her presence within the room beyond. As he moved, he motioned for the servant to vacate the vicinity. As he reached the set of doors leading into her chambers, he paused and gathered himself. He didn't want to start the conversation off with an angry outburst.
Having served in nothing but Imperial based factions since the demise of his father's empire, the exposure to such a rigid doctrine had hardened him in many ways. Especially in a professional sense. Disobedience was one of the big pet peeves of his that irritated him to no end. And she had blatantly done so. To be fair, she did not know the man he had become, but if she expected everything to fall back into place as it was, she was in for a rude awakening. There was no way he could go back to being who he was.
Changing his approach, he calmed himself as best he could and knocked on the closed door, waiting for a response. He wasn't about to go barging in. The situation didn't call for such brash tactics...yet.

Larissa turned at the sound of Viox's knock. She wasn't expecting him to knock. She moved toward the door and gracefully pulled it open. She dropped into a deep curtsy and rose to look him in the eye.
"How nice of you to visit my suite, Lord Savage. Please do come in, we have much to discuss."
She turned her back on him and walked over to a chair by the window. She sat and waited for him to follow her into the room. She could hear Gemma and Ly in the next room. She hoped that they would stay there until she called for them.
"I assume you have a great many plans. I hope I have not become an inconvenience. But there are people in this suite who need me. A great many things have changed in the last five years. Myself included. After your father's death I had to remake my life. I knew you were alive, but I had my reasons for not looking for you. The main reason is waiting in the other room. If you are not opposed to it, I would like you to meet my companion."
She watched for Viox's reaction. He was calmer than she had anticipated him to be.

Savage observed the excessive display of pomp in disgust.
It was one thing for his subordinates and other like-minded Imperials to display such pomp in his wake. Larissa, however, was an exception to that rule. His rank and prestige within the First Order had no bearing on her at this point in time.
He strode into the room, taking note of the exquisite splendor.
He expected nothing less with her. She always had rich tastes and like to show it off any chance she got.
He watched her seat herself and speak. He snorted in disgust at her statement.
This was about to be interesting.
"I have eagerly waited for the moment to branch out on my own. And now I have that opportunity. Of course I have plans. Plans that I fully intend on involving you in, provided you wish to be a part of them."
He shifted his gaze to several of the lavish paintings, then strode over to the windows, hands clasped firmly behind his back.
"You never have been, or ever will be an inconvenience, mi'lady."
He pauses for a moment, thinking. This conversation was taking a turn he wasn't expecting. Mind you nothing within the last twelve hours had been expected, so he should have been surprised. He turned to face Larissa where she was seated.
"At the present moment, I do not wish to discuss anything to do with my father or the time from then until now. Once this planet is secured and order has been restored, I will indulge you with whatever information it is you seek. You had your reasons, I had mine. Fortunately, you have the ability to show me your reasoning. I do not have that luxury."
His senses extended outwards. A familiarity was coming from the next room, and yet it was oddly strange. He looked at Larissa one more time, then looked to the door. Bowing slightly and motioning with his left hand towards the door, he spoke.
"Proceed."
Regardless of whom ever walked through that door, he still had a planet to pacify. Once that was complete, he would take all the time necessary to clear up any issues that remained between himself and her. After all, one couldn't just disappear without a trace for several years and reunite unexpectedly and have every thing remain the same. And at this point, his own son could walk through those doors and he wouldn't be surprised, or so he thought...

Larissa smiled faintly at Viox's speech. She had expected him to be distant, and she sensed a change in him. But they would have to get into that at another time.
"I came here to make a new life for myself. But soon after I arrived on Iridonia I had a startling discovery. Gemma, come out here please."
Gemma walked out of the bedroom holding the hand of a four-year old Zabrak girl in a fluffy purple dress. She ran to Larissa and was instantly picked up.
"Lysandra, remember your lessons. What do you say?"
The little girl nodded and looked up at Viox.
"Hi Daddy."

Savage watched the maid and the little girl walk out of the bedroom. The little girl immediately over to Larissa and was picked up. Savage listened intently as Larissa spoke, followed closely by the little girl speaking. As the little girl spoke, his whole world seemed to melt away. The light side, the dark side, the First Order, the Sith. Everything. He was truly dumbstruck at the sight of the girl. And that in and of itself was a rare occurrence. His features visibly softened and his whole demeanor seemed to lighten.
It was in these rare moments that Savage longed to be something other than what he was. But being a Zabrak warrior, he did place value in family and what it meant. He and Larissa had gone through this once before, during the upbringing of their son, Vallius. But right now he was at a loss for words. He had known there was a reason for everything, and that the Force acted in mysterious ways. But this, this was entirely unexpected.
The taint of the dark side faded from his eyes, returning them to their vibrant, piercing blue. And it was in that moment that he allowed himself to truly feel emotion. His eyes teared up, but they didn't fall. He looked at Larissa, and truly took in her features. The soft glow of her pale skin, the vibrant emerald eyes as they watched him, waiting for a reaction. Her neatly groomed horns and flowing raven hair. And then he looked upon the little girl, Lysandra. That's what her name was. Larissa had spoken it mere moments before. He took in her features as well. The girl's eyes were a vibrant turquoise that seemed to glow faintly, as if to indicate a hidden power within. Her soft unblemished skin was aglow with youthfulness. Her curly raven locks were kept neatly in an ornate hair style befitting of Larissa's daughter. Questions flooded his mind, yet he asked none. Instead he searched for his voice, then finally spoke, his voice soft and reassuring, void of the usual menace that accompanied his voice.
"Hello, Lysandra."
But that was all he could manage to say. He returned his gaze to Larissa, asking millions of questions with his gaze, though not voicing them. He didn't know where to start.

Lysandra's face split into a wide grin when Viox spoke to her. She giggled and squirmed to get down. She skipped over to Viox and reached for his hand.
"Mommy said you were busy working and I wouldn't get to see you lots. Are you staying here? Are you going to live with us?"
Larissa laughed.
"Lysandra, give your Daddy a minute. Remember, he didn't know about you before."
She looked at Viox and saw all the questions in his eyes.
"I was going to look for you after I healed, but once I found that I was carrying Lysandra, I couldn't put her in danger. I thought about how we sent Vallius away for his safety, and I couldn't bear to part with another child. So I raised her here in secret. When she got older I was going to look for you. She's very smart, and already using the Force. I think she'll be able to Mind Walk with a little practice."
She sat back down and motioned for Viox to do the same. Seeing Lysandra and Viox together made her happy. She hadn't seen Viox that relaxed in a very long time. Not since Vallius was small. If only Vallius could be there with them. Larissa would have loved nothing more than for her whole family to be together again. Lysandra pulled insistently on Viox's hand, bringing Larissa out of her reverie.
"Sit down Daddy. I want to sit with you."
"As you can see she's very sure of what she wants. And stubborn. But she comes by it honestly."
Lysandra's eyes glittered mischievously as she grinned up at Viox. She had always wanted to meet her father. And she was excited to have him in the Palace with them. This was the most exciting moment in her young life.

A genuine smile split the tattooed Zabrak's face as the little Zabrak girl squirmed out of Larissa's grip and came bounding over to him. Feeling her little hand gripping his, he nearly retracted it, but managed to catch himself. The questions were nearly overwhelming. With so many unanswered, he was barely keeping up. And then Larissa spoke, answering some of his questions.
Everything that Larissa said had made sense. She had certainly made the correct choice in keeping Lysandra here. And after being in a state of constant fear with Vallius, both Larissa and Lysandra deserved to be safe. And with this little girl, so energetic and lively, hounding him for his attention, he honestly didn't know what to do next. It had been so long since he had to deal with a small child. He had almost forgotten how. Almost.
Lysandra's insistent tugging on his hand brought him back to the present. She certainly did know what she wanted. And Larissa was definitely not wrong. Lysandra's ability to be stubborn was only rivaled by that of her parents. Instead of picking the little girl up, he allowed his eyes to flutter closed. Extending his perceptions out to the room around him, he allowed his senses to perceive the small figure of Lysandra. And then he extended his right hand, palm up. The little girl was then hoisted off the ground slowly. Once at face height with him, Savage opened his eyes and grinned again. Stubborn and fearless. She was definitely his daughter. Little Lysandra giggled with glee as she floated before him. And then he reached out with both of his hands, plucking her out of the air. He pulled the little girl in closely. Feeling the weight of her in his arms was so different. She was so small and barely noticeable in his arms. And yet, there she was. And then she squirmed out of his grasp, wrapping her little arms around his neck in a tight hug. While unexpected, he followed suit and embraced the child. And then his wrist comm chimed, breaking the moment...

Lysandra hugged Viox as tight as her little arms would allow. She like that he had picked her up like that. She liked floating in the air and feeling weightless. Lysandra frowned when Viox's wrist comm chimed. She leaned back and looked at Viox in the eyes, a slight pout on her face.
"Does Daddy have to work now?"
Larissa laughed at her daughter's blatant attempt to sway Viox away from his duties.
Seeing Lysandra so content in Viox's arms made her heart soar. She knew that their meeting would go one of two ways, but this had gone far beyond what she had hoped. Seeing the hate and anger melt away from Viox when he saw Lysandra was unexpected.
"We both have to work now, baby. You'll have to play with Gemma for a while."
Lysandra frowned again at Larissa's answer.
"But I just met Daddy. I want to play with him. Can you come back later, Daddy?"
She looked at him pleadingly. Hoping that her cuteness would sway him to do as she wanted.

Savage couldn't help but smile at Lysandra. Her eyes sparkled with determination as she attempted to keep him there. He looked her dead in the eyes.
"I must leave. But I will come back, I promise."
He then set her down. Upon standing up straight, he smoothed out his uniform and answered his wrist comm.
"Savage."
The voice on the other end was that of Commodore King, his executive officer on board his flagship.
Sorry for the interruption sir, but you are needed in the Throne Room. The Councillors are ready for you to make your announcement.
Savage nodded in acknowledgement. An unnecessary, but absent-minded action.
"Understood. I'm on my way."
He ended the conversation by terminating the comm. He glanced up at Larissa.
"We are needed elsewhere. Come. Our moment of triumph is at hand."
He mentally began preparing himself for the speech to Iridonia. As he did so, the taint of the dark side slowly began to take hold again, turning his eyes from a piercing blue to a fierce yellow. Despite the emotions that were now swirling within him, he was too far gone in the dark side to escape its sway for too long.
