To stand was his entire response. To declare intention to leave. To declare his condolences.
I will admit that I'm a little nonplussed, and frankly, the prospect of denying their food is a bit sad. Yet, it has to be now-- if I wait until it's sitting in his stomach, well, then I have to give an additional fifteen minutes or so such that it isn't weighing him down, and then there's the restroom break that we would have to take, and the list wearily goes on and on...
...No, when you're hungry is when you are most focused. And, though my stomach is satisfied, mine is a hunger that burns within the soul. My hunger is to observe his true power and his ability to become like me. I must make him do it. Make him do it now.
I unfold my arms and place my left hand on the seat back, push myself to my feet-- as I had been sitting on the chair backwards. So, I too am standing.
"Even now, spouting nonsense. Or don't you realize that this is just another means of conversation? We'll come to an understanding yet, not to fear."
Not yet, not yet. It's not the time to activate the Reflex yet. So I stand, poised as if on a precipice, with the slightest nudge ready to send me tumbling into the power of the Force. Almost harder to resist using it than to use it, at this point; but I obey my rational senses, and I withhold; and take one step back from the table and one step towards the door, creating a bit of space between Atuna and me as I do, dragging the chair legs in similar fashion to how I approached it when this all began as I do.
It's better to be in action than to be in inaction anyways. My hesitation has all but subsided now. Now it is replaced by tactical patience, and the careful study of Atuna. With each gifted by the Force with the ability to see at supernatural levels...I have to say, I'm pleased to have brought it this far. I've never fought against another man with eyes like these before.
The space I created is important, you will see. The chair legs would hit the table, otherwise.
