We'll be ready." Replied a still disguised Alith to the Grand Admiral, before shutting down the communications channel. Outside the hull, the metallic spine of an oggzil ceased crackling with electrical current as it was switched off, venting steam into the cold vacuum that was swallowed as quickly as it formed. The young commander stepped away from the villip choir and crossed the bridge, coming to stand beside the Prefect. His glowing eyes slowly shifted from emerald green back to their more normal cobalt blue hue. He reached up and gripped the lower half of his face, prying the gnullith free from his lips and throat with a painful tug, slapping it back against his hip where it hung like an upside down jellyfish swinging from its tendrils. The youngest member of Domain Yin leaned forwards over the tactical table, resting his boney elbows on the rough yorik-coral surface, his hands locked together beneath his chin as he observed the holographic projection.
Next to him, Ur Skell imbibed another cup of viscus sparkbee honey, before offering the bladder-flask to the commander. Alith took it without thinking and brought it to his lips, suckling the sphincter orifice as he took a long draught from the organic container, his words silent while his mind was deep in contemplation. A great deal of Octavian's victory hinged on Coruscant. The Ren had the entire Deep Core as a fallback position, but Baltasar had nowhere left to run after Coruscant. Dealing with him would turn this Tatooinian standoff from a three way contest to one on one duel between siblings. The Deep Core was a difficult region to navigate. He knew that from experience, when years ago the Praetorite had sought star maps of the region from the Imperial Remnant. Fast forward to the events of Byss, and those maps were already largely useless, with the shift of stellar tides and the unstable gravity from so many densely packed stars and black holes. Even with updated intelligence, the loyalists could spend years trying to gain a foothold of the territory, especially with the Ren largely already entrenched. He had no question who would be asked to bleed for every inch encroached. These Imperials, they didn't see the Yuuzhan Vong as equals, but as a resource to be expended. So that raised the question, what would they do?
Bastion, Ilum, Coruscant...there were no sure paths without potential pitfalls. Any decision he made could damn his people as surely as spare them further suffering. No wonder the Yu'shaa always looked so conflicted, so burdened by responsibility. Maybe Alith had spent too much time amongst the warrior caste. Navigating the politics of the situation did not come naturally to him. He preferred a clear enemy. The longer they waited, however, the greater the chance a decision would be made for them, an equally unpalatable outcome.
"Nem?" He dared to ask, looking at Ur Skell. The Prefect shook his head. Still nothing from the Executor. Alith took another long draught of narcotic honey, wiping his lips with he back of his arm when he was through. "Then we wait."

--It wasn't long before all the ground forces Lucius had sent out returned to their respective ships. With Ralltiir once again back under the First Order's control, all that was left was ensuring repairs were finished before making the jump to Coruscant. It was also best, he knew, to hold back for a bit as well due to timing. His fleet was currently much closer than the Emperor's. If he had jumped soon after getting word, they would have arrived with no support if a battle started.
But with word received that repairs had been completed and enough time passed, they were ready to make their jump. Issuing the orders to the fleets that remained, they made the jump to hyperspace, ready to retake Coruscant.--

"Have you decided our course of action?" Asked the Prefect, Ur Skell, formerly of the Praetorite Council. His question was for Alith Yin, Intendant serving as Commander of the Carcharodon and the remaining Yuuzhan Vong fleet. The youngest member of the brooding and shadowy domain turned his head and simply nodded, before giving the order. "Take us to darkspace."
Without further adieu, the Yuuzhan Vong fleet jumped to lightspeed, their destination unclear to anyone save for the commander on the bridge.
