Near Rendili StarDrive Shipyards
In the Heilwig's auxiliary command center, Captain Eilert Hirsh delegates the task of responding to casualty and damage reports to his XO so that he can focus on the ongoing battle with the Hammerhead cruiser, fighting on resolutely despite the damage it has sustained much like the Heilwig and her crew. The Hammerhead's captain, Hirsh thinks with the admiration he always feels for enemies that fight well, must be one tough, determined bastard, the evacuation of what appeared to be most, if not all of the Hammerhead's other crew, suggesting to Hirsh that the enemy captain is intent on going down with his or her ship.
Nodding moments later when informed that the Hammerhead has ceased fire, and appears to have lost power to its remaining engines, Hirsh orders his weapons to cease fire so that power can be diverted from them to the Heilwig's remaining engines and shield generator, engineering teams still working to complete repairs to the latter. Ordering his helmsman to take the Heilwig away from the Hammerhead cruiser and space station, Hirsh mops the sweat from his brow as his ship limps away from the battlefield like a wounded leviathan.
The Heilwig's damage too extensive to continue in the fight to secure the shipyards and defense platform, Hirsh reluctantly sends an encoded holonet message to the Adaleiz and Elke to let them know that the enemy Hammerhead appears to have been crippled, and that as his own ship is unable to remain in the battle any longer, he will withdraw to a safe distance for the time being.
Near The Siren's Call Space Platform
Captain Gisela Roth, commanding the Victory II-class Star Destroyer, the Adaleiz, clucks her tongue with a shake of her head as she reads the communication from Hirsh, an overly sentimental and philosophical old fool in her opinion that seems to her to have lost much of his vigor and fire after seeing so many battles, and who has utterly failed in his assigned mission to secure the shipyards and the undermanned defense platform that stands watch over them. At least, Roth thinks with an internal aggrieved sigh, the old fool managed to disable one enemy ship, leaving her to deal with the corvettes which arrived with the Hammerhead cruiser.
The corvettes, Roth thinks as she tucks an errant black curl that has escaped from beneath her cap behind an ear, will be dealt with in due time. Capturing the defense station is her first priority, and so Roth narrows her focus to the completion of that task for now. Ordering her comms officer to send a confirmation to Hirsh that his message has been received and understood, Roth returns her attention to the Siren's Call, which has begun firing on her ship and the Elke in what she firmly believes will prove to be an ultimately futile gesture.
Ordering her shield operators to divert two thirds power from port shields to starboard, Roth has her helmsman turn so that the Adaleiz's starboard weapons can fire a broadside at the defense platform, targeting its hangar shields so that the boarding party preparing to launch has an entry point. Ordering her TIEs to launch and begin attacking the platform's weapons, Roth leans back in her command chair to watch the battle's progress on the holographic projection displayed in the center of the bridge.
The captain of the Elke, Parzifal Bohm, paces lanquidly around the holoprojection depicting the battle, issuing his orders as he does. Ordering the launch of his TIEs, two trios tasked with escorting the shuttles that will be landing and attempting to take the defense platform while the rest join Roth's in attacking the platform's weapons, Bohm then orders his weapons to send a hail of ion fire towards the platform's hangar.
StarDrive Shipyard Hangar
Gervasio's aim is true, and the flametrooper's backpack explodes with a harsh coughing noise. Corporal Felicie Graf feels like a massive hand slaps her through the air, sending her crashing into a wall beside the barricade she had been leading the assault on, a cloud of flame spreading out and washing towards her as she tries to regain her feet and reorient herself.
Another Stormtrooper, his armor and helmet both wreathed in flames, tackles Felice down and covers her just before the spreading flames reach her, preventing her from gaining any clear sense of what is going on. Chaos reigns for a few moments, Felice and the Stormtrooper that tackled her both pulled up and dragged behind the barricade that they had been attacking when the flametrooper had been killed by enemy fire. Their medic, unimaginatively nicknamed 'Doc', Felice recalls as she shakes her head and tries to stand, is working on the Stormtrooper that tackled her, removing the human male's helmet and revealing the burned ruin of his face briefly before another Stormtrooper leaps over the barricade, turning quickly to send a few bursts of blaster fire towards any enemies that are visible as the cloud of flames begins to dissipate.
Assigning Fuchs command of the handful of Stormtroopers she will be leaving at the barricade to hold it and protect her wounded troops once some semblance of order begins to take shape, Felice leads the squad of Stormtroopers she assembles to secure the shipyard's command module further into the corridor beyond the barricade, alert for any sign of resistance.
Over Edethor
Ishild frowns as she feels the trembling shudder that accompanies the enemy MC90's fire impacting violently against the Kunigunde's ventral shields. Calmly ordering her shield operator to divert power from dorsal to ventral shields, Ishild then orders her helmsman to maneuver so that the MC90 is beneath their starboard side. As the Kunigunde begins to maneuver, Ishild orders her concussion missile, ion and heavy turbolaser battery gunners to reopen fire on the enemy vessel, with turbolaser cannons to continue focusing on the enemy fighters.
The captain of the Renate barks out an order for his helmsman to turn hard to starboard after the attack on his ship's engines damages his aft shields, nearly disabling them entirely and requiring redistribution of power from port shields to ensure than his engines are protected quickly once more. His TIEs not faring well at all against the enemy fighters and Carracks, the Renate's captain decides that he will need to adjust his strategy, and orders his turbolasers and ion cannons to target the Carracks, starting with the one that went for his engines, while point defense laser cannons focus on the enemy starfighters.
The Mette's captain, more than willing to move closer to the enemy battlegroup as it will mean being in closer proximity to the Kunigunde and her weapons, orders his helmsman to pursue the MC30 that they have engaged, instructing his turbolaser and ion cannons to continue their assault on the enemy ship's bow. As their TIEs are meeting with little success in their efforts to attack the MC30, the Mette's captain orders them to disengage, form up, and split into two groups, one to attack the remaining Carrak-class while the other defends the Mette from the enemy fighters.
The Guardian Docking Bay
Setting down inside the Guardian's docking bay after reaching the defense platform, the shuttles carrying the Stormtroopers having chosen landing points distant enough from each other that an attack on one would not be able to focus on both simultaneously, the Lambda's lower their boarding ramps in concert.
From each Lambda, a fireteam of Stormtroopers scrambles down their boarding ramps, looking for cover points and any sign of resistance as a second fireteam disembarks from each shuttle to cover them.

Redelli StarDrives Main Hanger"Commander - the Hanger is lost. You should order your men to fall back. We've placed charges along the turbolifts and the main entrance to the hanger. Let them have the hanger and we can trap them here and set up a defense elsewhere... this Hanger is not worth your life!" Bringing his DC-17 hand blaster into a two handed grip to steady his aim as he sights in on the back of a Stormtrooper heading towards the barricade that the First Order force has already succeeded in securing, Gervasio fires the shot and gets back under cover just in time to avoid a flurry of blaster bolts that were sent flying his way. Cursing under his breath as, after he looks at the situation from a purely tactical vantage point, he is forced to admit that Captain Sirraf saw the writing on the wall well before he had been able to bring himself to do. Failure, no matter the odds that had been against things ending any other way, is always a bitter pill to swallow, but Gervasio has the lives of his men and the civilians who had been unfortunate enough to have been on the job when the First Order invasion began in mind as he nods and says, "No, no it ain't. A lull in the blaster fire leads Gervasio to pop up from behind cover long enough to send a few parting shots towards the Stormtroopers, and after the blaster bolts have been fired he gets back under cover and tells Captain Sirraf, All right, me an' mine are with you, Captain. Any ideas on where we pull back to?" The Guardian Docking Bay

Twenty Rendili Defense Force troopers from the military space platform's skeleton crew are sent to secure the hangar bay, few of the engineers, gunners, MPs, and other motley assortment of specialists doing their stints on the platform possessing much more combat experience than they had picked up when going through Basic Training.
As the shuttles set down, four of the RDF troopers, armed with DC-17m Interchangeable weapons systems currently in the anti-armor grenade launcher mode, take aim on the boarding ramps and, when they drop, immediately launch their grenades for the top of the ramps to say their unique "hello" to the Stormtroopers that will be rushing out.
After the grenades go off, RDF riflemen with their DC-17m's in the standard blaster assault rifle configuration, sight in on the smoke filled air around the shuttles' boarding ramps and prepare to start mowing down any Stormtroopers that emerge from the carnage.Near The Siren's Call Space Platform

Ordering his gunners to continue firing on the enemy TIE fighters, and then instructing his shield officers to divert power from the sides of the platform not currently under attack to those that are.
Dispatching a team of engineers to the docking bay, Murali has them seal off the bay and then vent it. It may not deter the First Order for long, Murali knows, but it should at least slow them down enough that his troops can start setting up defenses nearer to the command center.

As the Hammerhead Cruiser drifted in open space the shuttles continued to make their way towards the secondary hangerbay at the Rendilli StarDrives. The hanger wasn't large enough to hold them both - especially with the Hammerhead Vette already having docked. The fighters would have no room to land. Lucian's hands gripped at the controls as he constantly looked back over his shoulder - the rest of his command crew were stone silent, they all knew what it meant that Nakor had abandoned ship - he wouldn't leave that ship while still breathing, and ever since his second officer had died in the battle in Chiss Space there was no one to remove him from command and force him off the bridge - as he had done in the last battle where they had lost two Victory Class Star Destroyers in a battle with the First Order. This battle was almost as tragic as that one had been - they had walked right into a full first order invasion of Rendilli, none of them had been prepared for this. As the shuttles reached the hanger bay and began disembarking their passengers Lucian sent a message to Altair...
*Altair had already ordered his men to begin pulling out, and slowly there were making their way to the only exit remaining in the hanger bay laying down fire trying to keep the First Order troops from branching out to far. D'lyse however had moved towards Altair and the remaining RDF guards.
"Sir, we've sealed the turbolifts and planted charges - should they try and be activated they will blow. The main entrance is primed as well, we've got to get out of here!"
*Altair nodded turning back to the RDF commander, who had relented command at least for the moment.*
"Get your men out into the hall, My men and I are headed towards the Command Center - we can't let this station fall into their hands. Get your men together and retreat to the secondary hanger bay... My ships are prepping there as we can escape the system."
"Sir, Go with them, i'll cover rear guard..."
D'lyse would not take 'No' for an answer here, this position was not going to be easy to hold, and many men would be lost if they were not out before the First Order was ready to advance. Shifting through the crates they were using for a defense he unbuckled two explosives and planted them by the crates - then lobbed two thermal detonators across the hanger towards the First Order's defensive line. He had to make a scene - to grab their attention to give the RDF enough time to get out. With a terribly loud battlecry he activated his personal shield and leapt over the barricade where he had planted the explosives. Moving across the hanger bay not towards the Enemy line, but across their field of vision. He had a DC-17 in the blaster pistol configuration in each hand which he unloaded into the flank lines where their sharpshooters would be, his first two shots were aimed to kill, but the rest were simply meant to force them into cover - he was after all simply a distraction.
"Damned fool!"*Altair cursed before turning to the Commander*"Lets get out of here Commander..."*Altair led the last of the men towards the exit where he was sure the rest of his men would be waiting for him... hopefully everything went according to plan.*
Back aboard the Gadriel'lora'lya
Nakor sat in his command chair his head hung low his body wrapped in darkness. Power failure had cascaded across the entire ship and he had spent the last power available to him to give his shuttles time to get clear - out the viewport he had seen the Vettes take up flanking positions and when he was sure the fighters were engaged with the hammerhead cruiser and not chasing after the shuttles he knew he had succeeded, at least for the time being - his crew had a chance.
"I am sorry Gadriel... I have done my best, but your fleet has fallen apart before eyes, I have failed you..."
Emergency power finally kicked in - a dim red light indicating that at the least lifesupport and the airflow mechanisms were functioning for the time being. With a tired and defeated glance he red the power consumption readouts - if he bypassed the emergency life support into the ships electrical systems he could at least get the doors open - maybe make it to the Hanger Bay. Gadriel's fighter was still in the Hangerbay - equipped with a hyperdrive he might have had a chance. But the reroute was a terribly ugly hack... so many things could go wrong... With a soft exhale he hung his head once again - this was Gadriel's first ship, his pride, it was the flagship of his fleet for that reason, not because it was the strongest, or the most heavily armed. Those they had lost to the Chiss. It was hopeless.
"These ships were never the pride of my fleet... it was the men I trained to fly them, the men that fought for me, for the Jedi, for Freedom. Nakor, my friend... you are the pride of my fleet. You must try..."
Nakor raised his head slightly at the voice that seemed to be echoing in his head. It was Gadriel, he hadn't heard that voice in years. The oxygen must have been getting low, he was starting to hallucinate. At least that is what he thought before he raised his head and caught the fading image of the Bothan Jedi... standing right next to the Emergency power console. Nakor's eyes seemed to come alive and he reached into the pouch at his side and pulled out an orange. Putting the fruit into his mouth he bit into the rind tasting the juices coming from within - he held the tasty fruit there as he forced himself to his feet across the bridge and threw open the console's beaker compartment ... He wasn't going to give up, there was oxygen still remaining... and his General believed in him.

Scowling as he studies the holographic projection of the battle being fought in orbit over Rendili, Cherney cannot escape the disconcerting conclusion that the enemy will, unless he changes his tactics in such a way as to turn the tide of the battle, almost certainly carry the day. While the Maebh might be able to trade blows with the Nebula-class vessel that is almost certainly the enemy fleet's flagship, the other ships under Cherney's command stand little chance of surviving unless they combine their efforts instead of trying to engage the enemy fleet on multiple fronts. His fleet's failed effort to deter the enemy ships moving on the military space platform meaning that it may only be a matter of time before the platform's weapons are firing on his ships, Cherney believes that it would be best to position his ships so that the platform's ability to target them is hindered.
Ordering his comms operation to prepare to send an encrypted holonet transmission to the other ships of the Alliance fleet, Cherney then details the orders he wants the other vessels to carry out after ordering his weapons to continue firing on their current targets, with heavy weapons attacking the Nebula's belly while the lighter point-defense weapons target enemy starfighters.
The MC40a and Gladiator-class Star Destroyers that had so far been keeping themselves ahead and above the Maebh's bow, after receiving Cherney's orders, suddenly break off from their positions, turning and beginning to move towards the Renate at full speed, their starfighters following suite and forming up in preparation of making an attack run on the enemy vessel that Cherney has decided to focus his fleet's efforts on.
The captain of the MC30 engaging the Renate before Cherney altered his strategy decides to save his relief for when reinforcements actually arrive, and instead focuses on issuing orders he hopes will enable his ship and crew to survive until those reinforcements enter the fray. Ordering the Carraks to form up with the remaining Alliance A-wings and then make an attack run on the enemy TIEs.
The MC30 battling the Mette orders his helmsman to bring them on course to close on the enemy fleet once he has read Cherney's orders, sending the captain of the surviving Carak to form up with his ship to begin moving towards the Renate, frowning moments later when the Carack is destroyed bey enemy TIEs shortly after they begin maneuvering for the Renate.

StarDrive Shipyard Hangar
Private Fuchs calls for the medic after three troopers are wounded when Gervasio and then D'lyse fire at him and the other Stromtroopers Corporal Graf had ordered to hold the barricade that they had taken, after sustaining heavy losses in the crash landing and subsequent engagement with the forces defending the shipyards. D'lyse and Gervasio's attacks, having killed four troopers in addition to the three that were wounded, make Fuchs, not yet accustomed to command or the need to order those placed under his command into danger, more than a little wary of attempting to advance in the face of the perceived level of danger Gervasio and D'lyse have succeeded in creating, and so his orders are conservative, consisting of holding their present position and concentrating fire on D'lyse and Gervasio as the former daringly succeeds in drawing the attention of the Stormtroopers while the latter seeks cover and confers with Altair.
Further beyond the barricade held by the dwindling number of Stormtroopers under Fuchs' command, Corporal Graf sends two three man fire-teams to hold either side of the corridor they have reached, ordering the seventh Stormtrooper accompanying her, PFC Gwerder, who has training in slicing and electronics, to try and get the turbolifts they have found back online. Gwerder, fortunately for Graf and her squad, possessed the foresight to advise against accessing the turbolifts prior to ascertaining whether or not they had been tampered with in light of the fact that the shipyards had sufficient warning of their attack to prepare countermeasures, and had therefore spared himself and his squadmates a fiery explosive death by the trapped turnolifts. Defusing the trap, however, will take Gwerder time, giving the forces defending the shipyards time to rally their forces, plot their escape, or whatever else they might plan to do as the assault on the hangar begins to taper off as both sides begin to focus the majority of their efforts elsewhere.
Siren's Call Docking Bay and Nearby Orbit
Setting down inside the docking bay, currently being vented into space in an effort to delay the inevitable, the Stormtroopers inside the Lambda-class shuttles check their gear once more as they wait for the signal to attack. From one of the shuttles, a black hued astromech, its magnetic feet enabling it to make its way across the hangar without being whisked out into space, is deployed to cross the bay and restore the magnetic shields, or in the event those have been disabled to hinder the assault force, activate the emergency airlocks.
Captain Gisela Roth, on the bridge of her Victory-II-class Star Destroyer, orders her weapons to continue firing on the weapons of the Siren's Call capable of attacking her ship and the Elke, the toes of her left foot tapping impatiently as she waits for the teams sent to secure the Siren's Call to report in.
The Captain of the Elke, Parzifal Bohm, having already sent the second Lambda participating in the effort to capture the Siren's Call, orders the TIEs he had deployed to escort the shuttles to return and refuel, and then, as they begin to do so, orders his helmsman to prepare to make for the shipyards so that they deal with the enemy ships that gave poor Hirsh such trouble and then send forces to help with the so far rather less than impressive effort to secure the shipyards.
The Guardian Docking Bay
Sustaining heavy casualties when the forces defending the Guardian open their campaign to hold the docking bay with an effective and devastating grenade attack that surprises those Stormtroopers it does not kill outright, one of the Lambda shuttle pilots responds by raising the boarding ramp and bringing the craft up to turn its nose towards the defending forces. As the surviving Stormtroopers inside the second shuttle exit quickly and begin exchanging blaster fire with the enemy forces that have killed many of their comrades, the first shuttle bolsters their efforts by firing on the enemy positions with all of its forward-facing double laser cannons.
Over Edethor
Ishild turns from the holoprojector's display, having concluded her latest assessment of the battle's progress, and orders her helmsman to increase speed to ahead two-thirds, initiating a slight down-plane to try and move into a position from which attacking the enemy MC90's engines will be possible, while also preventing it from continuing to attack the Kunigunde's ventral shields, which are holding still but taking more damage than she would like.
With the enemy fleet apparently altering its strategy from engaging her fleet on multiple fronts to seeming to focus on a single ship, the Renate, Ishild orders the other ships in her fleet present over Edethor to move into positions enabling them to assist the Renate, already beginning to take heavy damage, with the added proviso that they move to keep the enemy ships between themselves and the Guardian until the station has been captured.

As the surviving Stormtroopers inside the second shuttle exit quickly and begin exchanging blaster fire with the enemy forces that have killed many of their comrades, the first shuttle bolsters their efforts by firing on the enemy positions with all of its forward-facing double laser cannons. Nearly half of the RDF troopers are wounded or killed when the shuttle fires its weapons, including their commanding officer. Even though their ranks are in disarray, the RDF troopers rally themselves, bravely attempting to hold their barricades despite the overwhelming odds against them.
As two RDF troopers, their DC-17m's in the anti-armor grenade launcher mode, fire on the shuttle that has gone airborne and is attacking with its weapons, the others cover them by rising from cover and sending blaster fire for the Stormtroopers that exited the other shuttle.Rendili Star Drives Main Hangar*Altair nodded turning back to the RDF commander, who had relented command at least for the moment.*"Get your men out into the hall, My men and I are headed towards the Command Center - we can't let this station fall into their hands. "Got it," Gervasio tells Altair after being given his orders, pausing long enough to provide D'lyse a few more bursts of covering fire as the lunatic goes YOLO against the Stormtroopers manning the barricade that they have taken. Shaking his head as he reluctantly decides that he has done all he can for D'lyse at the moment, Gervasio rises and uses hand signals to have his remaining men withdrawal and fall back into the corridor outside of the hangar.
Once he and his men reach the safety of the corridor, Gervasio wastes no time, ordering most of them to begin making for the secondary hangar to meet Altair's ships. Unwilling to leave his men stationed to protect the shipyard's civilian employees alone to try and evacuate them, Gervasio tells Altair, "I have men protecting the civvies further inside, I'll go and help them get the civvies moving for the secondary hangar. Glancing at the three men he has chosen to either stay with him or help Altair with his plans, Gervasio asks, What do you have planned for the command center? Sabotage it? My men know the station and its systems, they can help you if you need their expertise?"

Cherney, wary of allowing the enemy fleet to encircle his ships and cut off any chance they might have of escape should the battle reach the point where retreat is the only sound strategy, which is an eventuality that he accepted as all but inevitable when informed of the odds facing him and his men, orders his remaining ships and starfighters to continue pressing the attack on the Renate until other wise ordered.
With the First Order's capital ship, the Kunigunde, maneuvering to hinder his attack on their belly, Cherney decides that the moment has arrived to concede that the First Order ship is not likely to fall to him today, and so rather than press his attack, shifts his strategy to ensuring that his fleet is not surrounded. Ordering the Maebh's helmsman to initiate a turn to bring their starboard weapons to bear on the Kunigunde and continue firing on the vessel, Cherney then begins reversing heading, moving away from the enemy vessel at a slow enough rate that it should not be immediately evident that he is withdrawing to a position that will prevent the First Order's fleet from closing in on his own smaller fleet like the fingers of a fist.

Rendilli StarDrives Main Hanger Bay
The personal shield that protected the Clone Commando took a heavy beating as he made his way, sluggishly across the hanger floor. The constant fire of the First Order troopers causing him to miss step once or twice, and the rate of his return of fire was dwindling as well. The shield absorbed the brunt of the impact, and even though he was battle trained and hardened any soldier who was wise enough to live this long was wise enough to not trust an shield forever. He couldn't spare a glance back to be sure that Altair and the rest of the RDF was making their escape, could only hope Altair was smart enough to take the opportunity for retreat and save the lives of those that now followed him. His DC-17's quickly overheated - and with a quick motion he holstered them and pulled his rifle from the sling around his back and dove for cover behind a half destroyed pile of munitions crates. ~Great~ he thought to himself coming to his knee and taking aim firing twice before moving again - away from the potentially explosive cover. He finally checked his shield - 15% - and turned and fired again - two shots - met with three more pelting against his shield which was starting to malfunction, one of the three bypassed the shield and slammed into his heavy armor knocking him from his feet and throwing him back into another pile of crates. Not bothering to check what they were he scrambled behind them and deactivated his shield. He was 20 yards from the nearest exit and sparing a glance back he noticed that Altair and the rest of the security force was gone. ~Good, all eyes on me then~ He took a quick breath and considered his next move...
Rendille StarDrives - Corridor
*Altair considered the offer for aide but quickly shook his head, he wouldn't risk the commanders men on such a foolhardy mission. This is why he was here, but they had already gone above their call to duty by staying as long as they have - any commander worthy of the title would know this station was lost.*"I thank you commander, but I'm confident in my men. We'll handle this, Get your men planetside as quickly as possible - down there you might have more of a chance."*He ordered his own men to proceed towards the command center and gave the Security Commander one last nod and a smile that wouldn't have been visible through the face concealing helm he wore."I'm getting what I can out of this station and getting out of this system... I'll send help if I can - you and your men are welcome to come with me?"
Aboard the Gadriel'lora'lya
Sticky orange juices streamed out of the fruit crushed between Nakor's teeth as he held it and half chewed when he could, both of his hands busy with the control conduit above him. Manually rerouting power from the failing life support to the doors - but only those between here and the hanger - bypassing weapons systems and fuel lines where a single spark of a failed power line could set the entire ship ablaze in moments. He could already feel the air growing thin as he ripped the last pair of wires from their homes and without hesitation scrapped them clean and crossed them twirling the ends together and half raising his head towards the door and counting... three seconds later the door opened and he smirked raising a hand to take the fruit from between his lips and took another bite - half limped to his feet and moved towards the door...

The Guardian Docking Bay
The co-pilot of the Lamnda-class shuttle that had fired on the troops defending the Guardian curses loudly when he spots the two defenders armed with anti-armor weapons, and quickly adjusts the aim of the shuttle's forward facing double laser cannons so that he targets them.
The Stormtroopers that survived the destruction of the second Lambda try to find cover as the defending forces fire on them, three falling before the rest succeed in the attempt. As the Lambda continues to fire, the remaining Stormtroopers rise from or peer around their cover to fire on the enemy troops that remain after the shuttle's attack.
Siren's Call Docking Bay
Encountering no resistance, the astromech sent to restore the docking bay's magnetic shields succeeds in its efforts, enabling the Stormtroopers in the two Lambda-class shuttles to disembark and, arranging themselves in positions selected to enable them to fire on anything waiting beyond the sealed doors leading from the hangar bay into the space platform, begin to wait as the astromech begins to attempt to override the command sealing the doors.
Should the astromech prove unable to open the doors, one of the Stormtroopers begins to prepare a charge to blow them open.
StarDrive Shipyard Hangar
Private Fuchs puts a hand on shoulder of a Stormtrooper that starts to climb over the barricade, clearly intent on charging the spot where the lone enemy trooper that had killed another two of the Stormtroopers with Fuchs before getting driven behind cover of the crates he has disappeared, at least for now, behind. Hold your position, Fuchs tells the Stormtrooper, having a strong suspicion that it is not the fate of the shielded trooper that was tasked with covering his mates as they fell back from the hangar to fall in the day's battle. Graf's orders were to cover her and the Stormtroopers with her, Fuchs tells himself as the other Stormtrooper gets back under cover, not to throw their lives away recklessly to hunt down each and every super soldier that assists the regular security forces defending the Stardrives.
Further within the Stardrives, Corporal Graf pats PFC Gwerder on the back after he has successfully disarmed the trapped turbolift. Unwilling to try her luck, or spend the time it would probably take to get the turbolift back online, Graf has her team prepare to use their grappling hooks to rappel down to the level of the command center.
Over Edethor
Ishild frowns as the Renate, having found itself to be the focus of the enemy fleet's ire, clearly comes close to destruction, the cruiser's shields falling on the starboard side and allowing a volley of enemy fire that tears into the ship's hull. While Ishild trusts the Renate's captain to issue the appropriate orders to his crew to contain the damage, realign the shields or their bearing to minimize the threat of further damage, and so on, she supposes that the time has come for her to try and arrange for the wounded cruiser to leave the field to fight another day. Ordering her helmsman to move them onto a course that will obstruct the Renate from the view of the enemy flagship, Ishild steadies herself as a particularly violent volley of fire impacts against the Kunigunde's shields, and then orders her gunners to press their attack on the MC90, with turbolaser gunners focusing on deterring or destroying any remaining enemy starfighters.
As the Renate begins, as predicted, to maneuver to put its wounded side facing away from the enemy while continuing to fire relentlessly on the enemy Carraks hounding it, the captain of the Mette orders his helmsman to increase speed and bring them between the Renate and the MC30 they have been pursuing. Ordering his turbolaser and ion cannon gunners to increase their rate of fire on the MC30's bow, the Mette's captain turns his attention to the holographic display of the battle to see how his TIE pilots are faring in their battles with the enemy starfighters and the enemy Carrak protecting the MC30.

Rendille StarDrives - Corridor*Altair considered the offer for aide but quickly shook his head, he wouldn't risk the commanders men on such a foolhardy mission. I'll send help if I can - you and your men are welcome to come with me?" Gervasio scratches a stubbled cheek as he mulls over all that Altair has said, and after a moment shakes his head with a hint of commingled reluctance and resignation with a dash of determination threaded throughout in his tone as he says, "I appreciate the offer, but our duty is to the civilian personnel. Our top priority with the station about to fall into enemy hands is keeping them safe, so we'll do like you said and make for the surface to try our chances there. Chuckling as though well aware of the odds he will be facing, Gervasio says, Who knows, maybe we'll make it, keep hidden, form an underground resistance that you can send that help to."
Clapping Altair on the shoulder, Gervasio says with a crooked grin, "May the Force or whatever gods you believe in watch over you, mate. Turning around to address those of his men that remained with him in case Altair had needed some support, Gervasio lifts a hand and motions in the direction they will be heading, Ok lads, let's go and round up the mewling civves and get the frell outta here while the gettin's good." With his men in tow, Gervasio makes his way quickly to where the rest of remaining men and women are beginning to round up the shipyard's civilian personnel unfortunate enough to have been on the clock when the First Order invaded. Pulling one of his men aside, Gervasio tasks him with questioning the civilians to locate any that have mechanical or piloting abilities, hoping that he can put a few of them to work prepping transports for departure.
One of the RDF troopers with his weapon in the grenade launcher configuration manages to fire a grenade at the shuttle before he is killed by the laser fire sent from the shuttle, the other taking an instant too long to line up his shot and being killed by enemy fire before firing it.
Their losses mounting with every passing moment, the highest ranking RDF trooper orders a withdrawal, having the troops with him begin falling back towards the hangar bay doors in an effort to, if they are successful in the attempt and can hold their fall back position long enough, trap the enemy inside the hangar.Siren's Call Docking Bay
The RDF did its work sealing the doors well enough that the Stormtroopers will have to go to the blow the doors option.
Beyond the sealed hangar doors, having taking up positions behind several barricades affording them a few fields of fire at the hangar doors or anyone coming out of them, the RDF troopers ready their weapons once the doors are blown open, watching the smoke as it begins to thin for any sign of the Stormtroopers they are sure will not be far behind so that they can begin firing on them.

~Main Hanger Bay~
D'lyse bunkered behind the crates and quickly field stripped his weapon. Piece by piece he broke down the blaster rifle slipping pieces into places on his armor and refitting the rifle into its sniper configuration. There was close to 35 yards between him and Trooper line, the distance out ranged 100/100 accuracy. He wasn't on a kill mission... had he wished max casualities he would have acted quite differently - his goal now was confusion, disorder, and containment. He had to keep them here as long as possible. He raised himself over the crates and fired a head shot at the trooper on the flank - they were moving towards their own exit - one D'lyse assumed was cleared of all Fuze's traps. It wasn't his mission to keep them in the hanger he had to remind himself. He raised his shoulder over the crates again but this time the barrage of fire drove him back down before he could get off a shot. Typical trooper tactics - fire enough shots and hope to hit the target. He smirked beneath his helmet and clocked his escape route. He had to assume he wasn't their main target as well, but he still had to get out - and now he was rather locked down - the only thing he could do was wait.
~StarDrives Command Deck~
*By the time Altair and his team reached the Command Deck Fuze had already worked his way into the first layers of their system. Select information was easy to search, and the hack was simple enough but the density of the file was much larger than a simple download.*"How much time do we need?"*Altair called out passing a hand signal for the rest of his team to fan out and cover the exits. Liz and Stitch each worked on sealing the exits they had not planned on using and now there were only two ways in and out of the Command bridge. There was only four of them now."If you want the entire Schematics on Rendili's entire line i'm going to need at least an hour... probably more."*It wasn't going to be possible - four against a hundred, with backup on the way. Within 10 minutes more troopers would be docked and within 20 they would be over run.*"Focus on the Cruisers and the support craft... the two capital ships that we spoke of and the fighters. That should cut it down a bit... Once you have it wipe everything. Clear the entire database... I dont want anything left for them to use. And if this place has a self destruct... set it."*It was a long shot a structure this large would have fail safes against intrusion and espionage a single self destruct would never have been put in place. If they had time then they might have been able cause trouble for the intruders, and if they had full access to the system but the extraction and the destruction of the ship blueprints would have to be enough. Crippling this Shipyard was now their mission priority.
~Gadriel'lora'lya~
The cruiser drifted like a dead stick through space - the last real threat from Master Gadriel's fleet floating powerless - abandoned by all hands save the Captain. Only one could have ordered him off this ship and had Nakor not known Gadriel so well he would have believed what he saw to be the hallucination of an oxygen deprived soul failing to make peace with the fact that he was about to die. It had taken more time than optimal to reroute emergency power from life support to the door systems and even more than that to make his way across the entire length of the cruiser without the assistance of the turbolifts. Luckily with the artificial gravity drive down Nakor didn't have to run the entire way otherwise the oxygen use would have done him in before he cleared the first two decks but now one last closed door remained between him and the Hanger Bay and Nakor was running on vapor - his lungs burning - his eyes filling with blood blurring his vision - his skin growing more and more cold by the moment. Life support near the hanger was almost none existent. Nakor rested half floating in the air just outside the doorway unable to summon the strength or coordination to splice the control panel...
Nakor's fingers closed around the last piece of his beloved orange. It was a ritual of sorts, he had always saved the last piece for Gadriel regardless of where he was, and even since the Bothan Jedi's death Nakor had continued to save that last piece. His eyes opened blinking taking one last look down that corridor he had come from. At first he assumed the russet colored blue was only his fading eye sight, and then he believed the hallucinations had finally caught up with him - but it wasn't until he saw the figures obscured outstretched hand call the orange from his frozen fingers did Nakor know what he was actually experiencing - then the words of his General played once more through his head.
Commander Nakor... You are relieved. Get off my ship...
Nakor would have smiled - he might even have laughed. He once told the Jedi the only way he would surrender this ship was over his dead body, or by Gadriel's word. He felt a cool breeze - but he must have been imagining that as well, the air systems were long disabled. He heard the door open behind him and then he realized what was happening The breeze pushed him into the hanger bay... the ship he was after - Gadriel's Orange Aurek-class assault fighter was right in his path - they had always kept it dead center as sort of a monument to what he meant the crew. The momentum from the push sent him into the ship and it didn't take long for the cockpit to sense his presence and open. The ships hardwired droid fired up the engines the moment Nakor's body was sensed in the cockpit and the ship sealed itself moments later. The ships internal pressure system quickly worked to ready the ship for space travel but Nakor was only hanging on by a threat. He looked up with just enough time to see the Ghost of his Master raising his hands - his glowing white eyes radiating light towards the ship and a bolt of lightning towards the nearest control conduit. The power buildup was tenuous at best but with the reworks Nakor had put in place the ship was a powder keg and Gadriel just lit the fuze... The hanger bay doors opened and the ship lifted off just as the explosion consumed the hanger bay. The Aurek's shields took a beating - but the engines pushed the smaller craft clear of the ship before the explosion could overtake the craft. Ship combusted silently and without grandeur several moments later the explosion internalized by the vacuum of space. The ship that appeared to escape the blast was no where in sight.

Cherney tugs at his graying brown beard as he watches the holoprojected display of the battle, frowning as he watches the MC30 that the Renate had been engaged with falls to enemy fire shortly after the First Order fleet's commander maneuvers to protect the heavily damaged Renate before his own ships can destroy it. Pursuing the wounded enemy ship would be, given his own losses so far, ill advised, and so Cherney orders his remaining ships to continue returning to a loose, semi-circular line of battle formation that he hopes will enable them to hold out for a while longer so that Alliance ground forces can join with Rendili's defense force to prevent the First Order from taking the planet's capital city.
Cherney's remaining ships, a MC30c frigate, a MC40a light cruiser, a Gladiator-class Star Destroyer, and a lone Carrack-class light cruiser, continue firing on the enemy vessels as they continue moving away from the enemy fleet to come into the formation Cherney has ordered, positioned so that the enemy fleet is between them and the defense stations that are not likely to remain under the planet's defense forces's control for long.
With so many of his starfighters damaged in the battle, Cherney orders them to pull back as well, focusing solely on engaging any enemy starfighters that attempt to attack the fleet's larger ships, with the sole remaining Carrack assuming a close support role. The MC30c frigate and MC40a light cruiser cease maneuvering once they are in position to act as picket elements, keeping out of the lines of fire Cherney establishes for the Maebh and the Gladiator-class Star Destroyer to engage the enemy upon. Designating the Mette as their next target to focus on after the Vindicator moves to protect the Renate. Cherney has his starboard gunners, and those of the Gladiator-class, to begin firing at will at the enemy ship.

The Guardian Docking Bay
The Lambda's shields take a beating when the grenade impacts against them, but maintain enough integrity to protect the shuttle and its crew. As the RDF troopers attempt to fall back, the shuttle's steerable forward twin laser cannons open up on them, sending a relentless stream of laser fire at the enemy troops as they flee.
The Stormtroopers that survived the destruction of the second shuttle sent to board and capture the space platform charge from their cover when it is evident that the enemy troops are retreating, mercilessly firing on the RDF troopers in an attempt to prevent them from escaping from the hangar.
Siren's Call Docking Bay
The Second Lieutenant in command of the Stromtrooper platoon that has been sent to take the Siren's Call motions for his demolitions specialist to breach the hangar doors when their astromech tweets and chitters to inform them that it cannot override the lockdown of the doors preventing them from continuing on into the platform itself. Ordering his heavy weapons specialists to lay down suppressing fire once the doors have been breached, the Second Lieutenant joins his Stormtroopers behind cover and waits for the doors to be blown open.
Moments later, once the doors are blown open, and with smoke and debris still filling the air, the Stormtroopers pour blaster fire through the opening, raking the corridor beyond from one side to the other. With heavy weapons specialists laying down cover fire with their FWMB-10 repeating blasters, the Second Lieutenant sends a pair of 3-man fireteams forward to asses the situation and engage any enemy troops they encounter.
Over Edethor
Ishild pulls her gloves on more firmly, nearly smiling as she spots the Suenja, a Victory-II class Star Destroyer, and the Kasimira, the Assassin-class corvette that had engaged and destroyed the RDF forces in orbit over the Southern Hemisphere, appear on the holoprojection depicting the battle. The Suenja and Kasimira are approaching the Alliance ships from their six o'clock, enabling Ishild and her fleet to begin attacking the enemy fleet on two fronts. The element of surprise will not, Ishild knows, last long, given that if the returning ships from her fleet are visible on her sensors, they will also be visible on the enemy's, and so she orders her gunners to increase their rate of fire, focusing solely on the MC90.
The Suenja and Kasimira both launch their fighters as they join the fray, and both vessels fire a volley with all forward weapons towards the MC90's engines. As their TIE/IN fighters near the enemy, flying in finger-four formations, half break off to engage enemy fighters or assist the First Order TIE/IN pilots that are already engaged with the enemy while the others begin an attack run on the MC90, targeting the ship's engines.
The captain of the Mette, noting that the enemy has begun to focus on his Vindicator-class heavy cruiser, orders his helmsman to turn their bow towards the enemy fleet so that they present a smaller target, and orders all forward weapons to prepare to open fire on the MC90, focusing on the centermost section of the vessel.
StarDrive Shipyard Hangar
Private Fuchs, heaving a sigh of relief after receiving comm from Captain Bohm - in command of the Vindicator-class cruiser, The Elke, which has been sent, along with the Victory II-class Star Destroyer, the Adaleiz, that is currently engaging the Siren's Call - informing him that reinforcements are making their way to the StarDrive's hangar now in two Lambda-class shuttles, rolls his neck and then, turning to the Stormtrooper beside him, armed with a FWMB-10 repeating blaster, and says, Cover me on my signal, in a somewhat less confident voice than he was trying for. Taking a fragmentation grenade from one of his tactical pouches, Fuchs, having decided that it would probably be best if the lone enemy super soldier were either dead or, failing that, withdrawn from the hangar when the cavalry arrives, closes his eyes behind his helmet and says a brief prayer to whatever gods or powers might be listening.
Sounding more resolved, Fuchs nods to his fellow Stormtrooper and says, On three, and then raises a finger with his free hand to begin counting down. After he has raised his third and final finger, Fuchs waits until the sound of the FWMB-10 firing fills the air before he rises from cover and throws the grenade towards the crates D'lyse had last been seen to seek cover behind.
Further in the shipyards, PFC Gwerder shakes his head apologetically and tells Corporal Graf, Sorry Corporal, whoever they got doing their slicing is, like, totally way more O.P. than I can get around or through. This is, he gestures towards the data scrolling on the screen of his customized datapad, some real, you know, next level sh. . .
Waving a hand before Gwerder has a chance to start spewing technobabble she won't understand anyway, Felicie says, Don't worry about it, and then sighs wearily as she mutters, Par for the fekkin' course, as the day has thusfar been one that has led her to lower her expectations considerably where anticipating little or no resistance on the way to the success of their mission is concerned, and then says, Guess we'll be doing this the blow our way to where we need to be way. Without enough explosives to breach their way to the command center, Felicie orders her Stormtroopers to hold their present position until the reinforcements inbound for the hangar arrive and bring the explosive ordnance she notifies them they will need.
Captain Gisela Roth, commanding officer of the Adaleiz, watches the Lambda shuttles moving for the shipyard's hangar bay for a moment before ordering a squadron of TIE/IN fighters to launch and make a pass of the shipyards to try and locate the enemy ship or ships that destroyed the Wibeke and crippled the Heilwig. Having maneuvered so that her Victory II-class Star Destroyer is positioned above the shipyards, roughly at the center of the overall structure, Gisela orders her sensor officers to continue scanning for any sign of the enemy ships, and reminds her weapons officers to be ready to fire on any enemy targets in range that might reveal themselves.

The Guardian
Captain Marik Barul, watching the battle in the station's hangar come to an end as the last of the troopers he sent to try and hold them are gunned down by the Stormtroopers while attempting to retreat, lowers his head with a resigned sigh. Weighing his options, Marik decides that there is nothing to be gained in ordering the rest of the skeleton crew to lay down their lives in what would only be a futile effort to forestall the inevitable, and has his comms operator establish contact with the leader of the First Order's boarding party, informing them once they are in contact that he wishes to negotiate a surrender, his only term being that his surviving troops are spared their lives if they lay down their arms.
The Siren's Call
Captain Murali Jha, gritting his teeth while watching his troops make a stand against the Stormtrooper boarding party, knows that it will only be a matter of time before the station falls to the First Order. Deciding that he will be damned if he allows the station to be turned against the small friendly fleet that is bravely fighting against the First Order's ships even now, Murali unholsters his sidearm and looks at it with a determined grimace before turning to his bridge crew and ordering them to seal all entrances and prepare to make a stand he knows they all know will ultimately end in their deaths. As his bridge crew carries out his orders, Murali contacts his troops that have been manning the station's weapons, ordering them to sabotage all that they can before the First Order's forces take the station.

~Rendilli StarDrive Hanger~
D'lyse had sensed the fire from the troopers become more and more sporadic - he had refused to offer them an actual target for many moments now in the hopes that they might just forget about him and move on about their way - he was after all - only one man. He would have chuckled at the thought if his situation had been any less dire. He had already run his options and realized that the best chance for escape lay in the main entrance that Altair and the rest of his team had moved out of - no doubt sealing behind them - but there was a defensible position there and he could blow the door with enough time - he had the charges already. Just about the time he had decided to make his move the blaster fire picked up - he blinked and raised his helmet slightly to peer over the edge just in time to see a rather ballsy command trooper lob a grenade in his direction. His eyes widened and he moved at once slamming the control module on his personal shield (Depleted as it was) as he went.
The explosion burst the shield apart in a spray of blue energy and flame and he heard nothing but the cuncussive sound of the grenade exploding mere feet from him as he lost his feet and flew across the hanger onto the floor. The hit had not been direct his reflexes and the remaining shielding had saved his life but the entire back of his heavy army was scorched to his biosuit and his helmet had been blown off in the resulting explosion. He heard nothing - not even the loud thud of his head slamming against the durasteel hanger floor - and only felt a sharp pain as his vision blurred and he fell still... motionless - defeated.
~Command Bridge - StarDrive Factory~
Altair had just received a communique from the Star Razer - it had finally made its rendevous at the auxilary hanger with the Requiem - the only remaining hammerhead that was still functional enough to fly - and they had begun loading everyone they could onto the small Corvette. Hopefully between that and the Fury-Class interceptor they could get those that had made it to the hanger off this station.
So far they had not been harrassed by the First Order troopers - no doubt waiting for reinforcements - not stupid enough to attempt to sweep the entire station with the rag-tag force that survived the encounter at the hanger. He had begun to grow nervous - he had expected D'lyse back by now, and all attempts to reach him had failed. Of course if he was still in a fire fight he wouldn't be able to respond right away but he had expected something. He hadn't liked the idea of him recklessly distracting the landing party to begin with - but it had given them a very clean ex filtration from the Hanger - and few of the security forces were lost as a result - which was the goal he supposed. He was about ready to damn the plans and assemble the entire team to tear through the First Order to rescue him as Gadriel no doubt would have done when Stitch, the teams medic, finally spoke up...
"Trooper down."
Altair's eyes widened as he turned to the medic for an explination - his helmet was angled down at the large wrist-guant computer which held the lifesigns and readouts for the entire team - D'lyse's signal had just stopped. He was dead then...
Altair steeled himself and felt the eyes of the entire team lingering on him.
"Where are we on the download..."
"I still need another 10... maybe 15 to get everything we need..."
"Do it... you all stay here... Ex-fil when its done... and seal the passage after you go. Orders stand - fry the system and get off this station as soon as you have the data we came for."
Altair had already drawn both of his pistols from their holsters leaving his disruptor still on his hip and was moving towards the main entry way that they had created a Kill zone for intending to hold their location until the download was complete - no it seemed Altair had other plans...

The Guardian
The lieutenant in charge of the troop of twenty Stormtroopers that had been tasked with capturing the station accepts Captain Barul's terms for surrender, seeing little tactical advantage in denying the request that the lives of his surviving troops are spared; if he and his men prefer captivity and interrogation to death in battle, so be it as far as the lieutenant is concerned.
As Barul and those of his troops that yet live are searched for and relieved of their weapons and comlinks, the Stormtrooper lieutenant has his comms operator send word to Admiral Sauer that the platform has been taken. Ordering six of his Stormtroopers to stand watch over Barul and his fellow captives, the lieutenant has his EOD officers begun conducting a search of the station that begins in the hangar bay and extends outwards while he and the rest of the Stormtroopers move out for the station's command center.
The Siren's Call
Taking only minimal casualties while advancing from the hangar further into the station, the Stormtroopers use a bounding overwatch tactic to advance and ultimately battle their way past the enemy troops that had been laying in wait in the main corridor leading from the hangar bay. The lieutenant in command of the Stormtrooper platoon, now down to fourteen in number, has his medic and two wounded but still combat capable Stromtroopers set up a triage area in the hangar bay before he and the rest of his troopers continue their advance, halting when the troopers scouting ahead of the main group report that several of the surviving enemy troopers appear to have barricaded themselves in the command center.
Deploying his Stormtroopers to what cover there is to be found in the main corridor leading to the command center, the lieutenant has his platoon's combat engineer place an explosive charge on a wall of the command center. Once the charge has been set, the lieutenant has his Stormtropers prepare to storm the command center once it has been breached by the explosive. The charge explodes with a rumbling roar a moment later, filling the command center with smoke, flame, and debris that the Stormtroopers charge through, firing on the enemy troopers within all the while.
StarDrive Shipyard Hangar
Resilient little schutta, isn't he? Private Fuchs muses as he nudges the shoulder of the fallen enemy trooper that survived the grenade due to some combination of skill, luck, armor and shields.
Unholstering his SE-44C blaster pistol, the heavy assault trooper that covered Fuchs as he tossed the fragmentation grenade says, Not resilient enough to survive a shot to the back of the head. Schutta and his pals killed alotta our friends today. Just say the word, Fuchs.
Shaking his head, Fuchs hands a set of binders to the heavy assault trooper as he says, Negative, I think the higher ups will be interested in learning who this moof-milker is, and in who he's with. They're well trained, well equipped, and either lucky or misfortunate enough to have been here over Rendili to get in our way.
Nodding, the heavy assault trooper holsters his sidearm and accepts the binders, agreeing reluctantly while securing D'lyse's wrists with the binders, You're probably right, then while searching the captured enemy combatant for any weapons or other gear that might have survived the blast that left him unconscious, muses, Moof-milker might actually wish we'd have put one in the back of his head by the time the interrogators are done with him.
Grimacing beneath his helmet as he recalls that they have a Knight of Ren accompanying them that could, were she brought in to help with the interrogation, make the interrogation process even more horrific than usual for their captive, Fuchs looks over his shoulder as the Lambda-class shuttles carrying their reinforcements enter the hangar bay and set down, moaning, Man, I wish Graf was here to give this sitrep instead of me, not looking forward to reporting that the StarDrives are not yet entirely under First Order control.

Captain Murali Jha is among the first to fall as the Stromtroopers advance through the smoke and begin their assault on the command center. The rest of the crew fight to the last man, taking as many of the enemy troops with them into death as they can before a silence settles over the command center when the last of them succumbs to the assault.
The RDF troopers that had been sabotaging the station's weapons to prevent them from being used by the enemy make their own stand when the enemy turns their attention to them, but they all, too, are killed when the First Order's numbers prove too overwhelming, leaving the Siren's Call in the hands of the First Order when the fighting at last ends.

First Order Nebula-class Star Destroyer, The Kunigunde - Bridge
Noting her XO, Commander Brandt, stepping up beside her with a datapad held in his right hand as she watches the holoprojected display of the ongoing battle over Rendili, Ishild continues to watch the display as she says calmly, "Tell me."
Having developed a personal vernacular over the course of the years he and Ishild have been serving together enabling them to operate efficiently and, when necessary, succinctly, Commander Dachs Brandt understands from the phrase Ishild chose that she trusts him to summarize the reports on the datapad, and so says, "Kuhn reports that the Mandalorian mercenaries have taken the capital's shield down. Her forces are currently engaging Rendili's defense forces just outside of Edethor. She is requesting an orbital attack on Alliance forces that are attacking her right flank."
"Give the coordinates to our WSO, Ishild replies, authorizing the attack, and then asks, Captain Bohm's report?"
"Captain Bohm reports that the Siren's Call has been captured. The reinforcements sent to effect the capture of the shipyards have arrived. A member of the small, unidentified force that engaged Captain Hirsh has been taken captive by the Stromtroopers that survived the destruction of the Wibeke."
Arching an eyebrow, Ishild asks, "The rest of this unidentified force?"
Clearing his throat, Dachs replies, "Still at large, save for the cruiser that was destroyed in the battle with Captain Hirsh."
Nodding with a dissatisfied sniff, Ishild says, "Tell Captain Bohm to keep us apprised of his progress. As the Kunigunde's heavy turbolaser batteries tasked with executing the orbital strike on the Alliance ground forces attacking Lieutenant colonel Vreni Kuhn's right flank open fire, Ishild says, Tell Lieutenant colonel Kuhn to contact Rendili's Arch-Provost and demand Rendili's surrender once her forces are inside Edethor. With the city's shield disabled, the mere threat of an orbital strike should make the Arch-Provost's decision an easy and swift one."

Alliance Captain Merodach Cherney spots the latest First Order ships to join the fray on the holoprojection of the battle just as his sensor officer announces the new contacts. As Merodach is issuing an order to his helmsman to begin a turn that will bring their starboard side facing the newly arrived enemy Victory-II and Assassin-class corvette, he is nearly thrown off of his feet as his MC90 shudders and quakes as it is struck at multiple points by enemy fire.
Glancing at his boards to assess the damage, Merodach frowns, seeing that his aft shields are near to failing, with his mid-ship shields having been taken down with some hull damage sustained from the enemy fire that continued to pour in after the shields had fallen. Hearing his XO clear his throat beside him, Merodach rubs his eyes and, knowing what his XO has come to say, spares him the need to do so when he says, "We can't win this fight. Patting his XO on the shoulder when he gives a nod, relief evident in the slight slackening of his posture, Merodach says, Contact Colonel Ua'niall, give him the order to disengage and retreat. Tell him we'll plan to rendezvous at the prearranged coordinates in an hour," not adding his thought that the plan is contingent on the remains of his fleet surviving the attempt to withdrawal aloud.
As his XO sends the encrypted order to the commander of the regiment of mechanized Alliance infantry troopers engaged with the First Order force on Rendili's surface to disengage and retreat, Merodach issues the order for his fleet to follow suite, maneuvering to break away from the enemy fleet and jump to hyperspace with the intention of returning in an hour's time at a point over Rendili's eastern hemisphere to pick up their surviving infantry troops.
As his ships begin maneuvering with their gunners firing all the while on the nearest enemy vessels to their positions, each ship choosing a different escape vector so that the First Order ships should find preventing them all from escaping, Merodach clenches his fists as the last Carrack-class light cruiser in his fleet is destroyed as it attempts to protect starfighters returning to their hangars from enemy starfighters intent on their destruction.

First Order Nebula-class Star Destroyer, The Kunigunde - Bridge
Watching on the holoprojection of the orbital battle's progress as the Alliance fleet, apparently conceding defeat, begins attempting to retreat, Commander Dachs Brandt asks Ishild, "Shall I have the tractor beam . . ."
"No, Ishild says, lips pursed in thought as she studies the holoprojection beside her XO, Let them go. With the capture of the shipyards still underway, and the possibility that the small battlegroup that has been making effecting the capture of the shipyards a more daunting task than anticipated is only the advance force for a larger force, Ishild decides that allowing the small, battered Alliance fleet to withdrawal unmolested rather than pursuing them is the wiser course of action. Have the Suenja and Kasimira begin maneuvering for the shipyards to help Captain Roth capture and secure the shipyards. Pacing around the holoprojection of Rendili as the tiny digital images of Alliance ships begin disappearing as they jump to hyperspace, Ishild tries to guess where they will return if her gut feeling that they will not leave their comrades on the ground behind proves correct. Have the Mette begin patrolling over the southern hemisphere, and have the Renate begin sending temporary crews to the Siren's Call and the Guardian."
After relaying Ishild's orders to the rest of the fleet, Dachs holds a datapad out to her as he says, "Rendili's Arch-Provost has surrendered to Lieutenant colonel Kuhn."
Ishild begins reading Kuhn's report for herself, telling Dachs, "Have the Lieutenant colonel keep us apprised of her progress, and remind her of the need to begin moving on the media targets immediately so that we control the narrative of what has transpired here." As Dachs begins relaying her orders to the rest of the fleet, Ishild congratulates her crew on a job well done and then orders the recall of her starfighters so that they can be repaired and refueled, .
As the captain of the Renate has the temporary crews for the captured space stations assemble in the hangar so that they can be shuttled to their assignments, the Mette, Suenja and Kasimira move away from the Kunigunde, bound for their respective destinations.
