Skylar watched as a familiar face, one he had never put his eyes upon, walk out into the maelstrom of power between he and Kaja, apparently unaffected by either man's powerful auras that were surging between them. Stunned, and almost amazed, he barely noticed as Kaja fell to his knees. The Arkanian knew this woman, yet he did not. It was a paradox, but in the deepest parts of his exhausted mind, Winchester also knew that she was to be trusted. Her presence was somehow very calming to him, and he felt the massive waves of power flowing from within him subside, fade, and finally completely dissipate.
Before he could even react to either of the women, Skylar felt a tug at his psyche. The tug grew into a pull, then rapidly began pulling on his mind. That very flow...the connection that Skylar shared with Kaja...the very connection that had been cut, along with the darkness pouring from his friend....it was taking Skylar along with it as it receded, like a whirlpool that swirls the drain....
..Everything goes along for the ride. Everything is pulled down with it.
Weakly, Skylar tried to walk toward Raven, but his foot failed to stay under him in his weakened state, and he too collapsed to one knee.
"Raven..." He reached out his hand not realizing that she was too far away to see him in her weakened state. The vortex caused by the void in the darkness would not yield...and it pulled Skylar in.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A decadent room, opulently decorated in the finest manner. An ornate furniture set, bookcases lining the walls...floor to ceiling, and surrounding the entire massive area.
This...This was -not- something from Arkania. The air didn't smell right, didn't taste right. This was Dantooine...but how?
Sitting up from the large couch, Skylar looked around. His eyes caught a mirror, and he was stunned. His reflection was not his own, but that of a 10 year old boy. No, this was not the reflection that greeted the icy blue eyes of the Arkanian Prince, but a younger form of another that was recognized....
Skylar was looking at the reflection of a ten-year old Kaja.
A crash pulled his attention to a room next door. Standing up, he made for a large, red door with gold-tinted handles. There was another loud crash, and a thump. Inaudible voices....loud, angry, and foreboding...filled the air. Skylar didn't know at this point who he was, and he shook his head to clear what he thought was a hallucination....but the nightmare continued. Something crashed against the wall on the other side with such force that it knocked books from their places, sending them careening to the floor. Another, and one of the massive bookcases collapsed, crashing to the ground with a terrible sound.
True fear entered, and sunk its talons deep with the heart of the boy. Another huge crash, and the walls shook, sending yet another bookshelf down. Whatever was happening, it sent a sickening feeling to the pit of his stomach...and a frigid chill up his spine. Fighting through the fear of what lay on the other side, he reached for the golden-hued handle, and attempted to open the door, only to find it locked. He tried harder, jiggling the handle up and down, and still nothing. Suddenly, an ear-piercing female scream came from within the room that seemed just beyond his reach. He began to frantically try to force the handle open, only to find that the more he fought with it the more it resisted him. No matter what he tried, he could not get it to yield. Tears began to stream down his face, and feelings of hopelessness entered his very core.
He had never felt so alone in his life.
He started pounding with fist filled with as much fury as a terrified ten-year old could, trying in vain to beat the heavy door into submission, but to no avail. He slowly began to tire, his tears turning to quiet sobs as he turned around, and slid down the door in exhausted frustration. He felt the pain of inadequacy, the fear of what lay on the other side of that door, and the frustration of not being able to push himself hard enough to get through the door. In his distraught state, the boy did not see the tears falling to the ground sliding across the floor, and sliding together about ten feet away from the sobbing child. The puddle began to grow on its own, feeding on the sadness, the pain, the anger from the shed tears. The puddle grew into a seething mass of blackness by the time the boy had even noticed it, and he tried to run away. He only made it about five feet before tripping over a piece of the fallen bookshelf, and sprawling out across the floor. Scrambling backward on his behind, the boy backed himself up against the wall. The shadowy, evil, dark mass began to grow even larger, gurgling and sputtering as it expanded. Long, tentacle like arms sprung from the side, and shot out at the child. The inky, black tendrils wrapped around the boy, ensnaring him, and yanked him toward it. The young Kaja was so close that he could taste the stench of its breath, and see the vast emptiness in its silvery-white eyes as it began to speak.
"To have come so far...Such a waste."
He began to get sucked into the bubbling, gurgling mass of empty, inky blackness, when out of nowhere, a hand shot through the mass. It screeched, and splashed into nothingness, dropping the young boy, and sending him sprawling unceremoniously across the floor for the second time. Looking up at his savior, the boy saw the same eyes he had seen in the mirror. The man waved his hand, and calmly spoke to the very confused child.
You don't belong here, boy. Go home.
Reaching down, the man opened his hand, as if to help the boy up from the ground. Instinctively, the child reached up, expecting only to be pulled to his feet....but was shocked when the motion of being pulled up continued, launching him through the ceiling of the room, and through the roof of the villa. Explosive pain screamed into the boy's back as he shattered the duracrete, and was sent into the skies...and the blackness of space above. He did not stop there, however....He continued to accelerate, faster and faster through the stars, until they became white streaks in his peripheral vision. He could feel himself growing older, his body growing, his mind expanding.
Skylar began to feel more himself by the moment, when suddenly, he quite literally saw a pinprick of light. It got brighter, and more brilliant as he got closer, so bright that his eyes were forced to close as he hurtled at breakneak speed. Then, he hit it, and had the sudden sensation of falling deep in the pit of his gut.....
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Skylar awoke with a start, his eyes flying open, and he found himself on the ground, lying near his unconscious friend. He could feel something different inside him, like a massive weight had been lifted from his heart....like a dark veil had been pulled from his eyes. Slowly, gingerly, he pushed himself to his feet, every muscle aching from the exertion of the force sever attack. Limping over to Raven, he realized that he had only been out for maybe ten seconds...yet it had felt like an eternity. Kneeling down beside Raven, Skylar put his hand softly on her shoulder. In a weak, strained voice, he spoke to her.
"Are you all right, M'lady?"

Ryan flailed slightly when he noticed someone grabbing him- well three someones. The remaining troopers lifted their comrade up and took him quickly to the ship, Roel insisting they follow orders and prepare to meet Master Alora at the river. They needed to stabilize their fallen friend before anything else happened.
For a moment, the weight of sorrow felt so crushing, that Raven hardly understood how she was even breathing. It was more than her loyal friend's dead body before her. It was more than the long, sojourn across the galaxy and the feeling of guilt. It was more than the sadness of watching a good friend fall so far. It was much more than herself.
Kaj's blistering rage, Adieumus' sorrow, his struggle to do the right thing and failing. It all spun together, pushing itself onward until the empathetic Jedi felt her mind would rupture from the chaos.
But then- something happened. Her blurry eyes gazed up at a girl, walking calmly through the raging storm of thoughts and power and energy. She only caught Raven's eye for but a second, but in that second, Alora felt a strange, out of body feeling. Stunned serenity attacked her. Such a peace she'd never felt on the receiving end before, and she wondered if this was how others saw her. She felt tired now though, her mind begging for the force to return, longing to feel everything and nothing again, like it was suppose to be. A chill draped over her, the clambering emotions of other people slowly fading away as the strange girl calmed the storm, leaving Raven feeling rather useless. Thus far, she'd only provided target practice for the angry darksider, and amusement for a dark immortal. She'd been absolutely no help to Adieumus, and now one of her men lay dead because of her inadequacies. Perhaps the dark immortal creature was right.
A hand touched her.
Raven jolted defensibly, clutching at the dead trooper's helmet she only just now realized still resided in her hands. Only until Adi's voice reached her hearing, did she drop her shoulders. But his words- his question. Was she alright?
Absolutely not.
And she was really tired of pretending to be.
No...
She whispered shakily. and wrapped her arms around the helmet, allowing an unhindered fresh wave of tears to cascade over her. Perhaps they would wash away the guilt and leave her the Jedi Master she was suppose to be. But until then, she didn't care about the others. She no longer noticed the unconscious darksider, or his daughter who reminded her of who she was suppose to be. There was just a friend, with his hand on her shoulder, and she closed her eyes, drawing closer against him and trying to control her dwindling emotions.
I should not have come here...
She said, plainly, swallowing hard and letting out a small sigh as she finally felt the fingers of the force start to penetrate her. But they were not warm and welcoming. They were sharp and chill, ripping the curtains of blindness back to reveal the world through the force again- far too quickly for Raven's tastes, and she shuttered violently. Her empathy shut down almost at once, until she could get better control of it, and the mark upon her chest flared- only once, before giving her rest from its taint. But the whole ordeal was enough to rattle the already rattled frame of Raven Alora.
I'm sorry.

"No..."
He didn't know what to say to her...how to respond. The tears streamed down her face...and it broke his heart to see such pain in her countenance. He realized that the attack he had used to bring Kaja down probably had affected her as well, stripping her of the Force...He knew how much pain the attack itself could cause, having experienced it himself...but to be an empath? Exposed to so much emotion from the troopers, Kaja, Skylar, even I'vaya...??
Wait, how the KRIFF did he know her name?!?!? How did he know that it was his best friend's daughter?? He had not seen the woman, save maybe in a lucid dream when he was recovering on Dantooine... Had it not been just a hallucination in Skylar's own mind when he had seen Kaja's childhood?? Where were these memories coming from? No, now was not the time for this. He had to do something...someone else he genuinely liked had been hurt through his actions.
Shaking his head to clear his mind for the moment, he knelt down to Raven as she apologized. She was apologizing for coming here? No, she had to know that it wasn't her fault for being here...it was -Skylar-....none of this would have happened if he could have just kept his cool when Tryn and Kaja hooked up like they did. As she leaned in toward him, he wrapped his arms around her, and pulled her into his chest, hugging her, and feeling the tears starting to well up in his own eyes. Trying to choke them back, he felt the first pangs of true regret, and sadness that he had experienced since he left the RDMC medical ship over Kuat. He put his head gently against the top of hers, trying to comfort himself as much as give it in the embrace.
"No, Raven...Please don't blame yourself for this. If there must be blame placed, it is mine...I am the one that brought Kaja here. He was looking for me. If I wouldn't have come, none of this would have happened. I should be the one apologizing to -you- for bringing this upon you, and your men. Chaos and death follow me...Everywhere I go, people get hurt. My lot in life seems to be causing people I care about tremendous pain, and now that curse has struck again. Anytime someone tries to help me, people die.
I am so sorry, Mi'lady...this is entirely my fault."
Even against his internal protests, the tears were now flowing freely down his own cheeks, forming streaks where his face had been planted in the dust of the ground earlier. He wept over the loss of Raven's trooper with her, knowing a little of what she was feeling himself. It was as if he was finally able to let go a little bit for the first time in a VERY long time. He wasn't sure if it was the release of the dark influence Kaja held over him, or Raven's lighter influence upon him, but a bit of the massive weight on Skylar's heart was slightly lifting. Just holding her, and letting the tears flow like they were...it was as if a cleansing was starting in the Arkanian's psyche.
Even through so much pain, and hurt...there was one more emotion that turned from a cold ash to an ember in Skylar's heart...
....Hope.
The Force had seen fit to bring one of the few people that might possibly be able guide Skylar out of the dark, shadowy fog that had been his life up until now, seemingly on a whim...Raven Alora. If anyone would know how to bring some of the light back to the former Jedi, it would be her. She could, however, only if she still wanted to be anywhere near him after this....He wouldn't blame her for punching him in the face, and leaving as fast as she could....if not just capturing him and taking him back to the Jedi. Maybe that would be for the best, anyway....If she wanted to take him in....he would let her. It was time to stop running.

Raven closed her eyes, breathing sharply through her teeth as the wave of empathy lock down passed and she felt human again. Details of the environment finally splashed back into color and the Jedi Master calmed significantly. Any pressure, emotionally, she was unknowingly placing on Skylar dropped to a minimum, and she opened her eyes once more, taking in a few breaths to stop crying. Gently- so as not to interrupt her friend's embrace, she leaned forward and placed Jakk's helmet back on his chest and sighed, resting against Skylar's chest again. Inwardly, she admitted that she liked the hug. It was rare for her to brake down like this and expose herself so completely, and this was a completely inappropriate place for it too. What if the darksider was still conscious? What then? She just gave him the perfect time to spear her without even trying.
But he wasn't conscious, and at least for now- thought the force, Raven felt the danger had passed.
So now it was time to make a decision. Should she stay or leave? Should she turn Adieumus in to the Jedi council or leave him here? Considering for a few seconds, she figured she had no where to go- certainly not back to Felucia. She could not turn Adieumus in. Even if the Jedi council sought to redeem him, their tactics would hardly work on someone like him. Of that, Raven was certain. And she certainly couldn't leave him here, alone with that unconscious darksider holding such a sway over him. Slowly, she turned her head to look up at Skylar's face, and spoke purposefully.
I'm not leaving you this time.
She swallowed the last of her tears and gently wiped her eyes with one of her sleeves, lifting the other to remove his own tearful streaks.
If my first task to redeem myself, rests with redeeming you, then the force honors me.
She said sincerely. Glancing about as if just now realizing they were still at the ruined temple with the strange woman and an unconscious adversary, Alora rolled her shoulders, feeling the force fully returning to her.
Besides, we have got to talk about the company you're keeping these days.
She said, nodding in Kaj's direction.
If I recall- the last time I saw him, he tried to kill you.
She blinked questioningly for a moment and then shrugged.
Regardless, I suspect you need another perspective on things, and I'd like to provide that. If you'll have me.
She had absolutely no idea what she was getting into, but Raven Alora rarely did. Adieumus now, was a mystery to her, yet something pulled her toward him, something unyielding. That same thing that got her into so much trouble all the time. Perhaps this time- it would be worth it.

She said something that he truly did not expect after she laid her trooper's helmet down, words that struck deep into Skylar's heart.
"I'm not leaving you...this time"
...It was as if she was trying to shoulder the blame of the entire Jedi Order for their failure in leadership, and mission planning. This was a burden the small-framed Jedi Master did not have to shoulder. To be bluntly honest, it was becoming rapidly apparent who -was- to blame for all of the actions that Skylar had done since his recovery from his fight with Manda'lor Intalbo...
...Himself.
More tears began to fall as he realized the burden he was putting on everyone. He had done unspeakable acts, all in what had amounted to a childish temper tantrum...and blaming everyone else for his shortcomings, and failures. Here he was, feeling sorry for himself, and it was nothing but unfounded self-pity. He thought he was the strong one, all this time...and all he was showing was how weak he truly was. He had been right to give up his title of master....he wasn't deserving of it. Master Alora, however was, even in this vulnerable state, showing what real strength was. It was not how well you fared in your battles, it was how you held yourself afterward.
He felt her gulp, and start to compose herself, She pulled away, wiping both his tears and her own. It was one of the sweetest gestures...so small, yet something profoundly touching. It was something like this act that could show the misguided soul that good still existed in the universe. Sometimes it was the smallest of gestures that rang more powerfully than any superweapon, or army ever could. He, too, began to compose himself, and chuckled in embarrassment as he saw the dirt on her sleeve from his face. Reaching out, he took her hand, holding it to his face for but a moment, closing his eyes, and feeling the warmth. A very quiet smile spread across his face, and he released her hand, reopening his eyes.
"I guess that was a long time coming, eh? I've been holding back for so long, I almost forgot how cleansing tears can be."
He listened as she spoke of her own redemption. He could feel her aura...it was nothing but light. If there was any darkness hidden within her, it was less than most of the other so-called Jedi that he had met...even his old Master, Arhiia. There was only one other even close to Raven as far as what Skylar believed to be the epitome of a true Jedi, and that was Master Gene Kenobi. If there was anyone that needed redemption, it was most certainly not Raven Alora. Fact and point, here she was, trying to help one of the Jedi's former proteges that had fallen hard to darkness, and his own pride. She had every reason to walk away, right now....
But, she wasn't.
This was probably one of the strangest turn of events that could have happened at this point in Skylar's...no, Adi's life. Skylar had come here to kill Adieumus Matango....but he had not succeeded in the manner that he thought he would. If anything, Adi had just grown stronger in his trip here. That had been a secondary objective though. The original mission, to rid himself of his demons? That process had indeed begun, in a most peculiarly unexpected manner with Raven's appearance here.
It had taken both dark and light to bring out Adi's best. The will to protect Raven against the powerful darkness of Kaja had shown a lesson that was not lost on the Arkanian. He would never have had the strength to pull something like this off before...and it was through the balance of the two sides of the force that he had achieved it. Allowing emotions to permeate where they were driven out in previous engagements, embracing them instead of shunning them...It had shown Adi that it took more than light and dark to achieve the kind of balance that was necessary. This was where the true power lay.
There was, however, a -lot- that still had to be learned. For some odd reason, the force had seen fit to send the one person in the Universe that could help Adi achieve this.
She made reference to Kaja, and Adieumus couldn't help but smile, and give a half-laugh. "He does that. You get used to it after a while...Tends to keep you sharp, ya know?"
He smiled, and tossed out another chuckle at his assessment of Kaja. The man was his best friend, and had been one of his closest allies on many occasions. He just saturated everything and everyone around him with nearly pure darkness, no matter how good his intentions were. His daughter definitely had the right idea, though. From what Adieumus felt right now from her, she held the most well-balanced aura of anyone else he knew. He would speak with her in a moment about what he had seen, and maybe she could make sense of it all. Right now, however, Adieumus had to make a decision. Here he was, trying to stay away from the Jedi. So much time had been spent, so many things that he had done, everything sending him down a path that he felt he wanted...something he was entitled to, in fact. Now, in a few short minutes, he was questioning that entirely.
All over a small-statured Jedi Master.
"Indeed. Perspective is everything, and it can change in the very blink of an eye. It would be my honor, Master Alora."
He bowed his head, and closed his eyes. What in the kriff was he doing?? He was pretty much handing himself over to the Jedi on a silver platter, and didn't really know why. Was it the right thing to do? Probably. But it wasn't just about the 'right thing' this time. It was a curiosity, something that Adieumus had to figure out. The Force had seen fit to lay a path before him that he would have never thought he would take again. He would definitely need to see a new perspective, and Raven's was certainly a view that could help show him the way.
"I'll warn you though, I can be almost obstinately stubborn at times....downright difficult. I hope you know what you are getting into, M'lady."

Raven calmed almost fully as she felt Adi's hand catch her's and hold it to his face. Closing her eyes, she let out a very faint sigh, allowing the light energy, she had worked her whole life to achieve, to radiate unhindered from her person. A warmth, from her palm, would reach within the former Jedi master- if he would but allow it. Raven was not a forceful creature. She never buffeted anyone into a choice that would change their lives forever. Every one of her students, whether they came seeking to become a Jedi- or finally turning their back on the darkness, had all come to her of their own free will. This time was no different, and, at least briefly, she fully expected Skylar to refuse her. He spoke of tears though, and she nodded slowly, opening her small brown eyes and smiling kindly at him.
People who forget how to cry- are so truly lost. Weeping makes us human. Pain, without suffering, is corruption.
So many people, with so many ideals had crossed Raven's path, from sith who invited pain into their lives and twisted it into some warped sense of power- to people who mourned when their friends were suffering. It made the Jedi Master see her empathy as a gift, more so than a course, as she had felt in her early years with the Jedi order. That reckless padawan, so easily brought to senseless rage, when anyone else displayed the emotion, had matured into a well balanced, controlled adult- who, unlike others, sought to use her gist to help others, rather than take advantage of their fragile emotions.
Because emotions were such fragile things.
But they were also so very important. Raven tended to disagree with any Jedi who thought otherwise, despite the current code most of her colleagues aspired to. Without emotion- where is motivation?
When Adieumus spoke of Kaja, Raven turned her gaze to the unconscious man and nearly shuttered- though, with great effort, she restrained herself.
Won't be the first time I've had close ties with someone who was constantly on the verge of killing me.
She composed herself and slowly stood to her feet, shaking her head and casting her eyes away from the body of her dead trooper. Looking over to Adi, she gave a faint smile.
It's comparable to being around Zendodra all the time- except, she can be reasoned with- most of the time.
She did cast her eyes down at her trooper than and sighed. But this- this killing without cause or reason- It never settles well with me, and I assert that it never will.
She spoke plainly, and steadily- quite differently than the soft, gentle tones she'd used earlier. As he spoke of accepting her to accompany him, she turned back to him and bowed her head respectfully, a flutter of anticipation welling up within her heart.
It is, and will be, my pleasure. I'll, She cleared her throat and shook her head. I'll have to inform my men. I'll send them back to Felucia- without details of where we're headed. I assume you don't want them following us, so they won't, I assure you.
As he spoke of now knowing what she was getting into, Raven almost smiled. Life had always been unpredictable for the Jedi Master, and she liked it that way.
Though- I know you better than anyone else around us. It's not you I'm worried about. You will make the right choices, and I'll be there to make sure of that.
For a brief moment, she sounded like the teacher she was. Her kind, but firm tone seemed ill placed on such a small- even weak looking creature, but at the same time, it suited her. She would help this man back on the path he was meant to follow, and no Jedi order could tell him what path that was. That was a quest he would have to work out with the force-
And himself.

Raven's men leaving most certainly was the best idea at this point. Any one of them could report where Adi was, and thereby jeopardize Master Alora's position as well. It was apparent that she didn't want to be found at the moment, either...she had pretty much vanished before the Mandalorian War, leaving some to wonder if she met an ill fate. Her presence here definitely confirmed that she had not come to a bad end, at least. Maybe she would explain where she had been at some point. Right now, though, she seemed back in teacher mode, which was just fine with Adi. There had been a moment where having her in his arms felt almost perfect, as if it were meant to be. These were definitely not feelings that he should be having at this point. Perhaps it was just the after effects of the Sever Force attack stripping the area bare of any kind of force presence causing some kind of imbalance in his head. Maybe it was something to do with getting out of the bacta tank, and going straight into heavy activity with his newly-mended body. Either way, that was something that he would have to try to avoid in the future...thoughts like that weren't healthy. Luckily, MICRO came out from behind the pillar he had been hiding behind, and trotted over to Adieumus, giving him a distraction. Almost forgetting that it was a droid, he petted the cat between the ears. A programmed purr sound came from inside the little droid, and it headbutted him, keeping the cat act up for Raven. Standing up, and brushing some of the dust from his knees, Adi picked up the cat and put it on his shoulder.
"Meet MICRO...the cat droid extraordinaire. Keeps my hide out of trouble more than you know. I had the AI from my CLoWDS armor put into a replica droid, giving me about the most useful companion anyone could have. I know what he sees, when he sees it. He's really handy in tight situations where an extra pair of eyes is needed, but a humanoid presence would draw too much attention. I don't go anywhere without him."
He gave the cat another scratch under the chin, it jumped back down to the ground, and sat beside Adi.
"Your men heading for home would definitely be for the best. They handled themselves exceptionally well considering the circumstances. In order for Kaja to get that pumped up, they must've really given him a threat to react to. They should be very proud. However, I wouldn't exactly trust ME with anything right now. I have a tendency to screw up anything I touch. We -should- probably get to a more civilized world as well. I think my time in the wilderness is done. Besides, I think I've found what I was looking for, anyway."
He smiled a little bit, and brushed the dirt from his shirt and arms, sending small clouds out from either side.
"All I need to do is clean myself up a little bit, grab my things, and I am ready to go. Any suggestion as to where we might go next?"

Raven remembered the small cat droid from earlier just after Adi had left the temple. She shook her head when he spoke about trusting himself.
Good thing we're all a little screwed up then.
She cleared her throat and smiled warmly at him. It felt good to be doing something good again, for someone else- rather than just herself. She figured sending her guys back to her planet with tidings of her continued existence would be good for the Jedi base there. She'd heard tails of Felucia becoming some center of the Jedi order now, or something like that? Raven had yet to give credit to those rumors though. The thought of very important Jedi occupying their sparse council chambers, almost amused her.
I should get some kind of droid- some day, maybe.
She mused to herself. He spoke of finding what he was looking for here, and suddenly a warmth began to spread throughout Raven's body. Perhaps- this time, she could actually make some sort of difference in someone's life. Perhaps it wouldn't turn out with Raven found beaten half to death on some remote planet. Maybe, just this once, her efforts wouldn't result in a condescending 'I told you so' from well meaning friends. If she was lucky, Zendora wouldn't have to save her this time.
Regardless to past experiences, and the ever snaring trap of helping people, which always gripped her, Raven nodded when Adi complemented her men.
They're loyal. I couldn't have asked for better companions over the past few years. You go get your things and meet me over there. She motioned to the still settled, J-type star skiff. I'm going to inform my men what's going on.
With a nod, the small Jedi master made her way over to Roel- who stood pensively at the bottom of the landing ramp. Now in the presence of her familiar companions, she suddenly scowled.
And why aren't you at the river.
Sorry ma'am. Your orders were clear, but we wanted to get Ryan stable before lifting off, and, well Roel cleared his throat. We were worried about you, and- no one was shooting laser cannons at us. So, we um, decided that- due to the current circumstances, your past orders had shifted into, how would Zen put it- irrelevantce? Roel shifted uncomfortably before glancing around, unwilling to make eye contact with the small jedi woman. So, ma'am- where to now?
Home.
Raven stated firmly, while putting a gentle hand- completely off setting her vocal tone, against Roel's arm.
You are to return home.
At last!, or, ahem, very well. Are we done here, or do you need to finish a few more things before we take off?
Roel asked. Their time away from Felucia hadn't exactly worn down his crisp military discipline, but being with someone rather carefree and peaceful, like Raven Alora for an extended amount of time, almost made one doubt the over done importance of military manners. She wasn't as tough on them because they were not her Padawans. They were her weapons- and you don't normally yell at your weapons.
I'm not coming.
Alora held up a hand at the trooper's opened mouth and potential retort.
I feel your shock and anxiety, but please, Roel, I need you to go. Take Jakk's body back to his family. Tell the others that I'm still alive. Tell Aerandir NOT to try and track me down, and you, do not follow me.
Raven frowned. She disliked the feeling of saying good bye. She absolutely hated the look in Roel's eyes right now. His blue orbs were sharper than she'd ever seen them, bordering on Zendora's strength.
This is something I must do alone.
Will you be alright, Master Alora?
Roel asked, with an over composed voice. What I mean is, Will you be safe?
No.
Raven said, truthfully.
I will not tell you that I'll be safe, because chances are- darkness will fine me eventually- just like it finds all of us. I will not promise you that I'll come back to Felucia, because I do not know if that's a promise I can keep. But what I need from you now- is to follow orders, and trust that these orders will never become irrelevant.
She blinked a few times and shook her head before glancing around her and then giving Roel a swift- ill practiced salute.
You guys have been more than companions to me. You're my best friends, and I couldn't be more proud of you.

If Raven only knew how very 'screwed up' Adi really was at this point, she may not have agreed to stick around like she had....fortunately, he didn't have to explain, as she went on about wanting a droid...That one was far easier to respond to..."It wouldn't be too difficult to acquire another CRD. I don't know if it would be as smart as MICRO, but we can make sure it has an AI system in it. MICRO is a special case, though. His AI wasn't designed for a cat originally. Truthfully, I'm surprised he tolerates being a cat as much as he does. It kind of gives him an air that a normal cat carries. JUST enough disdain to make them -almost- hate everything you do.
Makes life a little adventure, I assure you."Before he could continue, I'vaya approached, a small datapad in her hands. Without a word, she smiled, quietly...sadly...as if apologizing for the death of the trooper, in her own way. Pushing the datapad at him, she turned, and began to gather up her unconscious father. Kaja was lifted through the air, and she carefully maneuvered his form into their ship. Cocking his head, Adi looked at the device. A tiny slip of paper said 'Click file one'. Shrugging, he proceeded."I won't need long, Raven. No more than twenty minutes. Your men are welcome to my ship, though. It has more room, and a solid first aid bay on board, not to mention all the natural painkiller they need for the next ten years. Besides, its a surprisingly fast vessel, and nimble too. They would be back on Felucia in no time. Only thing I ask is that I am allowed to take some of the herbs. I stole the ship initially, sure, but I had MICRO transfer more than enough credits to the Happy Herbs Dispensary to make up for the loss of the ship and its contents. It belongs to me, so its mine now anyway. I will be back shortly."He wasted no time in turning back toward the entrance of the temple, and heading back in. There was a hole in the roof, and with all the rain that came in from the jungle outside, it was filling a small crater with clean water. The water system in the temple wasn't working, so it would have to do. Dashing into the med bay, he retrieved his bag, and the rest of his gear, and returned to the pool. As a final precaution, Adi had MICRO run a quick scan of the water, who found it to be nearly 99 percent pure rainwater. Satisfied that it would suffice, he slipped out of his clothes down to his underwear, and jumped into the water. It was surprisingly warm, the sun streaming in on it since morning. Rinsing the dried bacta and the dirt from his skin was refreshing....relaxing his muscles that were still tense from the exertion of the Sever attack. He could have spent all day just lounging, but he knew that he had to hustle.
He climbed out, and unzipped his backpack. Pulling out a towel, he began to dry off. He turned on the datapad that I'vaya had given him, he clicked the icon marked 'IMPORTANT:READ FIRST!', and flipped through the data. Apparently, she had given them their next destination...Theed. There were a few images of a location, and a man who showed up in a grainy image leaving the building. This image was the only one with any kind of text on it.
'Find him. He can help you.'
Grabbing a clean pair of cargo pants and a shirt out, along with an energy bar, he quickly changed out of his wet underclothes, and tossed on a fresh pair before putting the clean clothes on. He picked up the dirty clothes, wrapped them in the towel, and tied them to the outside of the bag. Opening the energy bar, he picked up the backpack, and slung it up on his back, not realizing he had not zipped it yet. Another datapad fell out of the bag, and clattered to the ground. It came on from the contact with what was left of the tile floor, sending forth an intimately familiar voice. It almost took him by surprise, and he caught himself almost looking for her right behind him.::"Hello...It's me. Again. You can try to block yourself from me all you want, Jedi, but I know you are there. I don't know why you won't talk to me. Whatever's happened, we can get through it together. You aren't alone. I love you, Adem."::It was a holomessage that was almost two years old, sent right after Adieumus had vanished from over Kuat. These messages were sent regularly in the months following, saying nearly the same thing. "Come home, we miss you. We need you. I need you..." It had been a long time since he had listened to them...Nor could he bear to change the frequency. He even tried to delete them, just once. Even in his darkest hours, he couldn't bring himself to do it. Closing the message application, he pressed the image gallery. The first picture that popped up was one of Icey sitting on the Angel Beach. He had taken it on one of their weekend trips, and it was one of his all-time favorites of her. The sun was setting over the water, and giving Icey a halo of sun, further accenting her beauty. A sad smile crossed his face as he sat down on a broken pillar. He slid his finger across the screen, and the image slid away, another taking its place. This was one of E`yame holding Lukas shortly after he was born. Another flip, and a picture of Adi at the Sithies trying to cover up his wife's wardrobe malfunction. Another was Ice with her fingers dug into the dash of the speeder during one of the many times he had nearly scared the life out of her.
Each picture he came across was a memory he could never return to...never come back to. It would have been better with them thinking he was dead, it kept them from the pain of knowing just what Matango had become. He continued flipping through, seeing nearly two dozen pictures, when a video came up...one that had been taken from the HNN website. It was a report that a divorce decree had been filed by Isis Matango, due to her husband being absent from his duties at home for over three years. When this one had come through, it had done more damage than getting nearly killed by Ashrah. He would have preferred to be run through a thousand times by that accursed CNT beskad than hear news like that. It had been nearly a month before he even spoke, let alone told anyone what was tearing him apart inside. He had tried so hard to be their white knight, and all he ended up being was the villain in their eyes.
In her eyes.
He continued to flip through pictures and short holovids of their time together, each one bringing back a flood of memories. There were two in particular he liked more than the others...one was her smiling, and telling him to turn off the camera with that little eye roll she did. It was in their quarters in the Dukha, and she wasn't 'ready' to have her picture taken, let alone a video. In her cute little whine, she kept telling him to stop recording. In this video, she was smiling and biting her lip as she told him to knock it off, as he gently teased her about having her on film for all eternity. Little did he know that all he would have in the end were these few brief glimpses of the happiness they had shared.
The other video he absolutely loved was only a few seconds long. This one had been taken by a passerby in Nystao, standing in Anaxilea Square. The intention was to get a snapshot of the two of them together, but the inept person behind the camera instead captured about five seconds of what he considered to be the happiest moments in his life. It seemed simple enough to anyone else, but the feeling of having her under his chin with his arms around her was something he was unlikely to forget.
He was now on the outside, looking in.
He had no idea how long he had been sitting there, but the sadness, the anger he had felt in the past when he flipped through the images had changed. It still hurt, but somehow, it was all becoming clear. Even losing his family had happened for reasons beyond his understanding. The Force was telling him that it had bigger plans for him.
Drying his eyes on his shirt, Adi turned the datapad off, and put it back into the bag, along with the other one that I'vaya had given him. There were a few other files on that one, but there would be time on the trip to Naboo to view them. Sighing, he tossed the bag back up onto his shoulder, and turned to head for the entrance of the Temple with MICRO in step right behind him. Hopefully, Raven wouldn't be too upset that he had taken so long.

Adirumus had said his peace, and reintered the temple to clean himself up and gather his belongings. Raven turned back to Roel- figuring the freighter would be a better option, especially for keeping Ryan in a stable condition.
Take that transport ship over there. It's faster than this one, larger, and has more medical supplies than our ship is equipped with. Use what you need, and store the rest on Felucia. We'll be back for it- at some point.
Rather unexpectedly, the small Jedi master embraced Roel, quickly, so as not to draw attention. She released him and he saluted her. Steppinb back, she watched silently for a moment as her men assembled themselves, took up Jakk's remains, and boarded Adieumus' transport. With a heavy heart, she watched them go before turning and heading to the temple. It had been a quite some time sense her friend took his leave. Perhaps something detained him? Raven Alora wanted to find out.
The lone figure of Adieumus emerged and Raven felt a strange sense of purpose in his stature, as if he'd just come up from a terrible ocean, only now beginning to take in much needed breaths of air- a resolve. She watched him approach her silently, time feeling like an eternity in but a moment, as her small brown eyes analyzed him. Empathy was bad enough, but a curious mind, with an empathetic spirit created a strange person indeed, an understanding of how people worked- shoved into the mold of optimism and hope that they could always work infinitely better. Raven did not know what Adieumus just finished doing. She was unaware of the bitter suite memories translated into images on a data pad. But she did know that he'd just struggled through something- and for a time, in a long time, he'd come out victorious. Adieumus was already, working better.
Our past experiences are but building blocks, that eventually create a most magnificent palace, but only you can decide how to build yours.
She looked up at him, offering her small hand in friendship.
Still, others can help. Are you ready to go?

"Those building blocks can also become your greatest encumbrance, stumbling blocks that can create a tremendous fall, Raven. It's breaking the chains that hold you to those blocks that creates growth."
Adi pulled a pair of sunglasses out, and put them on to shield his eyes from the bright sunlight. Taking his backpack off, he reached in, and pulled out the datapad given to him by I'vaya. Activating it, he opened the file, and began to show it to Raven. Flipping through the pictures of the buildings, and areas, he paid particular attention to the grainy image of the man standing outside of the building. They didn't even have a name to go on yet, but if I'vaya was anything like her father, it was highly significant that he would be pointed out. More than likely, he would find them if they made their way to Naboo.
"Our friend has suggested that we go to Theed, and find this guy. Apparently, she thinks he can help us somehow. Maybe she's trying to get you some backup to help you deal with my stubborn attitude?" He smiled, joking with the Jedi Master. "I think its worth a look. Wouldn't hurt, at the very least. Besides, I always enjoyed the Lake Country on Naboo. Perhaps we can take a side trip, and maybe get some relaxation in after all this hullabaloo, if this guy turns out to be a bust.
Besides, what could go wrong? Naboo has been pretty peaceful lately...I don't remember any kind of fighting there of any significance. Maybe it would do us both some good."
Adi couldn't help but feel a twinge of excitement...of happiness. It was something that he hadn't felt in a long time. It wasn't just the lifting of the dark influences from Kaja...it was something more. It was as if there was an actual future ahead now, instead of just him eking out a barely-human existence day to day, surviving however he could. Naboo had always been a pleasant experience for him...one of the few in the universe. It had been one of the places that he had never had to defend himself, or fight in anger. It was unusual, because most of the other places Adi ended up, he would have to fight some kind of battle, engagement, or defend someone that needed his help. He took her hand gently, and bowed his head slightly.
Things were most certainly starting to look up.
"If you think it's a good idea as well, I'm ready when you are."

Raven grinned at Adieumus' come back and shook her head, pointing at him and speaking sternly.
That's why you look where you're going. A mindful Jedi, aware of his surroundings, rarely trips over his past experiences. That's why the darkness is so very dangerous.
She pointed out and shook her head, distracting herself with the pictures Adi was showing her. She couldn't recall ever going to Naboo, which was odd considering it was a peaceful planet. Indeed her very ship had origins on that planet. Regardless, she enjoyed adventures, and now, she would be having them with different people- people who needed her help. Inwardly, she wished her troopers were here with her, but she knew that for Ryan's sake, and the others, it was best for them to head back to Felucia. They'd be taken care of there, and be given meaningful jobs. Roel probably missed his men anyway.
Well I'm not exactly sure what we're trying to accomplish, but I'm sure I'll figure it out eventually. If Naboo is our next stop, by all means, let's get going. I've never been there before.
She lowered the landing ramp to her ship and motioned for Adi to follow. Though the inside was smaller than his previous, Raven had taken great lengths to keeping it spotless and in solid condition, just as she'd bought it. Perhaps, some might consider it a bit too luxurious for a Jedi, but it was one of the very few nice things Raven Alora afforded herself. She rarely dabbled in worldly pleasures at the Jedi base on Felucia, only shaping the place to be comfortable for others. Even on this ship, her cabin wasn't fancy. But the ship offered itself a step up from the common transport- just in the way it was designed, and Raven found it pleasantly unique.
Welcome to the Diadem, I've had this ship sense before I took over the base on Felucia... Make yourself at home while I prep for takeoff.
Ai and navigational systems were very important to Raven, because she was almost blind, and flying without them would be very-dangerous. As she made her way to the pilot's chair she peered over her shoulder at the other.
And I do hope you won't be so difficult that I'll have to get help with you, Mr Matango.

Adieumus -almost- continued the stones debate, but decided against it. When it came to philosophy, he was definitely outclassed by his opponent here. Figuring it was best to just smile, and acknowledge her superiority in the subject, he followed her into the Diadem, marveling at how pristine the ship was. Adi was never one to keep his speeders the cleanest, and he was generally a little rough on pretty much -any- ship he had access to. This looked like it belonged on the showroom floor, and not in the middle of the Yavin jungle.
He would have to ask her what the secret was to keeping the chrome so shiny, for sure.
He followed her into the area near the cockpit, and sat in one of the rear jumpseats for now. He would more than likely join her in the cockpit of the ship after takeoff procedures were complete, but as for now, he wanted to stay out of her way.
"I don't know. My ex-wife might say you would need a battalion of backup to deal with me. I personally think I am rather simple. I just have a nasty habit of asking the question 'why' to superiors, or those that give me orders. Not knowing the 'why' of things can cause issues in the long run.
I guess I am difficult in a way, but if I would have followed my instincts, and asked 'why', I may never have taken on the task of heading up the Jedi Watchmen. Instead, I blindly followed ambition, and took on a task that was far too large for me to handle. It ended up costing far too many lives...all because I didn't question things."
He felt the ship give a slight 'bump' as it lifted from the ground. He moved into the cockpit, and sat down in the seat on the other side from Raven.
"I half expected Anna to be with you. For some reason, she showed up in the nightmare I had in the bacta tank. I distinctly remember her being there in my mind...but I know she wasn't there when it actually happened. Why was she in my dream?"
The nose of the ship lifted, and they headed off into the atmosphere of the planet, and orbit beyond.

A pair of Anthem-class Star Cruiser's set down near the Temple of the Blueleaf Cluster. Saurian forces quickly established a perimeter and then swept the Temple for any interlopers that had ill intent. Even as remote and isolated as Yavin was, no chances were being taken that a Sith or band of criminals had decided to take up residence

Once the Temple of the Blueleaf Cluster had been scouted and secured by the forward forces, builders were allowed off the Anthem-class Star Cruiser's. Surveys of the Temple's condition were conducted before supplies were offloaded and repair works were begun. Gardeners begun trimming and tending to the overgrown vegetation, while directing the builders as to what could just be torn down without issue. They would return the building to its once former glory while also upgrading it with modern technologies

Ander returned to his ship at a stroll, taking in the scenery around him. Yavin's skyline had been etched into his memory over the years, though most everything looked different now from where he stood. Still, taking in deep breaths of the moon's air years worth of his life came flooding back to the forefront of his mind. Training with Tebana, Dav and Ksandra, leading students with them as Masters themselves. Their successes, and growth of their students. His love with Ksandra, their unstoppable union...his thoughts turned dark suddenly, to his betrayal of her union with him. His betrayal of the Praxeum itself. The values of the Jedi, sour in his mouth, black as they rotted away within the chambers of his very heart.
He sighed, breathing deep and letting these feelings go. He had to forgive himself, even if it meant no one else ever did. GALSAF was indeed a force for good in the galaxy and his own Jedi values that once thrived here on Yavin 4 now thrived in the hearts of his volunteers. Ander breathed easier now, smiling gently to himself. "Today is a new day, Oly," he said to the droid, who'd returned itself to the astromech's socket in his X-wing. "A brand new day."
