It's the hair, man. The best advice I can offer you is to either try and join up with an existing crew as their mechanic/handyman, hit up the galactic republic and see if they need any starship pilots/mechanics or even open up your own repair shop on a dinky little world like Tatooine.

Darth Kruor: To each their own man. I appreciate the advice though. Innon'Ruuk: I am definitely interested. I was looking more for small time, being on one ship with a crew. But I will definitely take a big time job like working at a shipyard. Could be fun.

I can do some quick research and see if my character would be qualified to build a reactor core. That seems a little out of a mechanic's league and more like an engineer.
And either one you decided to put me at, I can do. As for the reactor, I'll get back to you on that.

We can do That and no brutality of any kind towards you, Should I hire you as a contractor? I can pay you credits or you could work it off for a small ship of some kind under 100 meters.

If I might make a suggestion since I feel bad for almost derailing this, perhaps it'd be a neat idea to have Castle work with/on prototype or extremely expensive ships, just to make his story a bit more standout than just a random dock worker... unless that's what you're going for. Working on repairing and developing stealth fighters and prototype ships to carry Imperial commando squads would be pretty interesting to write out.
