A trio of ships exited hyperspace, poised to move into a high orbit. However the ships did not move right away, they hung close to the hyperlane, watching, waiting. Their sensors were working over time to scan the system and analyse as much information as possible. The three Ardent-class Frigates were named The Black Poison, The Damned Daemon and The Foul Serpent and they were loyal to the Bloodrage Pirates.
On board the Black Poison Captain Annix was calmly sifting through the analysis his crew had been able to process already. A faint smile was creeping across his scarred face. So far no sign of any strong military presence, though they hadn't scanned the other side of the planet. He had already decided to proceed but continued to read the whole datapad for information. Once he had finished he passed the sensor information back to a very nervous looking crewman and activated the comm system.
Captain Phlox, Gibbs, the situation is profitable, we'll got for this one!
The message was received by the Captains of the other two ships and they signaled their acknowledgement by raising their shields and powering their weapons. The Black Poison did the same and soon the trio were ready for battle. They made sure their fighter compliments were ready to be launched and they engaged their engines. Captain Annix made sure the geographical data from the planet had been relayed to the tactical station, they would hopefully need that and not spacial targeting. The trio halted again once they had reached a high orbital position. They were in such a position that in four hours the capital city of New Escrow would be in view, and in firing range. Captain Annix paused once more, waiting to see if the planet would form a response. Once he had waited the arbitrary amount of time to seem sinister, he hailed the planet.
Members of the Aargau government, I am Captain X'lor Annix of the Bloodrage Pirates. This system is now under my control, you will transfer the sum of 10% of your yearly tax income to a bank account of my choosing. You have four hours to respond or we will open fire on your capital city. Annix out.

Had this been a normal world. Unaffiliated or maybe Republic the ships may have gone unnoticed after all space was a big place. This however was the Imperial capitol. They were notorious for creating their worlds into massive fortress worlds. To attack one would be suicidal, even a remnant of one would prove to be more than a match for most pirates. However to bad for Aaragu the Empire that was there was not up to the challenge of defending it's holdings.
The higher ups had agreed to go to war against the NOE, no small task considering these were the toughest badesst kids on the block. Many had tried to take them down, just as many had failed. To bad none of them had been Imperial, for when the war machine of the Imperial Remant came knocking they destroyed all in their path. Now any who had survived their wrath were on the run or imprisoned. To the public knowledge at least. Of course this greatly reduced the amount of military strength the Remant had. They were stretched to the breaking point again and as such no reaction to the ships in orbit were to happen right away.
As soon as they had arrived in orbit the call for help had been sent out. Regrettably the closest ship was 5 hours away and so they waited, and prayed. Nothing happened for four hours and those in charge though maybe they would avoid incident, that was of course until the message came through.
All was silent on the comms, those who were in charge made no move of recognition for an hour. An hour filled with tense looks. The laser grid which was in orbit made no move to attack in an attempt to make it look like they were cowed. Of course all of this was about to chance. In the blink of an eye a single ship blinked into existence as it exited hyperspace, behind the trio of ships the Aggresor Star Destroyer looked pitiful. It lacked weapons boasting two turbolasers on it's wings but it made up for it by being the size of the average Star Destroyer. That and a massive cannon on it's nose. It made no attempt at contact as it drifted in space, warming up her shields and weapons. In no time flat the weapons were charged and a single shot fired. Not from the turbolasers but from the nose mounted ion cannon.
Taking aim at the poison a shot of ion blasted forth swirling in the darkness closely followed by boiling hot plasma. The whole point of this ships design was to take out the ships shields as the curcuits overloaded from the ion blast then be struck by a large bolt crippling the ship. At the time of it's creation, nearly 100 years before the Ardents it would have worked no problem. However these ships were newer and their systems would be just as new and advanced. At the same moment the barrage from the space turbolasers erupted towards the same ship. In the lack of numbers the underprepared imperials were hoping for speed, surprise and concentrated firepower to win the day.

Out of hyperspace, incidentally far to close to the current engagement for anyone's liking, but far enough away that collision wasn't in the forecast, comes a Nebulon-B-class frigate with its shields at full strength. It began scanning the system, much as the poison had done nearly an hour ago with its two companions. The crew however was already beginning to react to the sight of an ongoing engagement only just outside of effective weapons range. The CO ordered both squadrons to scramble, and all hands to report to battle stations. Weapons are charged as engines warm up and the navigators begin calculating a course back out, should it be needed. The Nebulon-B recognizes the Aggressor as an Imperial ship and marks it as Friend, while the other three are automatically labeled Foe. It broadcasts an Imperial Registration as does its squadrons. The CO sends and emergency signal back to Foerost, with what data he'd collected so far. It would be at least three hours before anyone else from Foerost showed up, but perhaps that would be soon enough. The Nebulon-B was slightly above the Aggressor, so that with minimal maneuvering it would have a clear shot at the Poison.

The ThunderStrike, the home of the 916th imperial legion commanded by Talon Fenris just under 5 kilometers from the ongoing engagement. Flash-comms were sent to the planet to inform them of the return before another comm was sent to the Imperial ship and Nebulon-b which looks to be assisting.
::Orbit Control, this is ThunderStrike returning from Prakith. Have med teams on stand-by as we have a lot of injured and dead aboard.::
::Aggressor, this is the 916th, want a hand old dog?::
Although they would come to the aid of their brethren in a heartbeat, the ThunderStrike was lass then half crewed at best, and most of the ground team had little to no space combat experience. Less then half of the fighters were in good need of repair or replacement with even less pilots to use them.
Not to mention there may be a virus in the ships systems, which would mean there was a 50/50 chance of the ship responding at all to controls imputed from the bridge.
If they were asked to assist, then the best they could hope for was a mad dash through the center of the enemy formation towards planet side, giving them something to think about and draw their fire

"INCOMING FIRE, EVASIVE MANOEUVRES!" Came the cry from the tactical officer on board the Black Poison. The helmsman almost broke his wrist on the controls to try and avert disaster, the main weapon on the Aggressor may be out-dated and crude but it was still very powerful. The Ardent's were not called "Fast Frigates" for nothing and the four hundred metre long craft managed quite a tricky move to bring it almost out of danger. The large bolt of energy from the Imperial craft scratched at the edge of the shields, shaking the craft violently and draining much of the power from the shields. However the destructive force of the second bolt flew straight past the agile ship and onwards towards the planets surface, Captain Annix chuckled, they were doing his work for him!
"Deploy fighters, return fire at the Aggressor and identify any other threats, send a signal to the Daemon to follow our lead and have the Serpent flank on vector 4-7."
The Poison continued to move around to starboard, pointing her nose above the plane of the Aggressor, followed by the Serpent, which was already on the starboard side of the Poison. During the arcing turn the hanger bays opened and vented their own small cloud of fighters from the ships. Two groups of six X-83 Twintail fighters, each with a single D-5 Mantis Patrol Craft. The pirates in the cockpits had great experience hitting targets in key systems to disable ships and they had not had a good fight in too long. The fighters broke off into groups of three with the Mantis craft separating from those for an attack at multiple angles. The Aggressor was light on anti-fighter weapons, the mainly Echani pilots made a point of memorising the specs of many ships of Mandalorian design. Even so the groups had spread enough to not approach directly from the front, two groups and a Mantis approached from the Aggressor's starboard side while another two groups and a Mantis were attacking from the destroyers dorsal surface. They each released a volley of laser and torpedo fire, half the lasers and eight torpedos aimed at the bridge, the other half of the lasers and 8 more torpedos aimed at starboard weaponry. These volleys echoed that of the frigates, the Poison firing at the bridge while the Daemon fired upon the starboard weapons.
The Serpent was almost slinking away from the combat, moving hard to port and "below" the plane of the Aggressor. Although the fighters on board the Serpent did launch, they made no attacking moves and her weapons remained silent as they scanned the other ships in the neighbourhood, paying close attention to the Nebulon-B frigate that was very close to the action.

Cursing his poor luck the captian of the Aggressor could do nothing more than watch as the bolt flew past and down towards the planet. He could only pray that it didn't hit a populated part of the planet. Get this ship back into firing position on the Poison now!
Sir we have a transmission coming through. Tapping a few buttons on the screen the message from The ThunderStrike.
This is Captian Shepard of the Frickstick. You wouldn't be of much help I am afraid, you look like you may just fall apart at any moment. No you stay out of this one unless we gain the upper hand. If you have any fighters to spare feel free to send them over. With that the ship shook as the first strikes of the volley hit. Thankfully they had begun to move and half half the torpedoes missed their mark. The bridge was safe, however the same could not be said for the right Turbolaser. The concentrated fire and torpedoes weakened and broke through the shields there breaking the weapon.
Completing his arc the ship once again targeted the poison. Aiming for the prow of the ship the captian looked over to the comms officer again. Get online those down in the orbital guns and make em warm those bastards up. Once they are ready give them targeting solutions, we can't take these three alone. Almost on cue a squadron of fighters flew by the view port followed closely by red bolts. Not from a fighter but from the planetary defences. The turbolasers tracked the fighters slowly. They were not meant for smaller ships but they made up for that in numbers. 144 (I think, it says somewhere) constant bolts were firing at the ships hoping to score a hit and take out the small nimble craft.
_____________________________________________________ Under the cloak of the fight a smaller ship made it's way into space. All extra energy being diverted from the weapons and secondary systems to the engines if flew at 150 times the usual speed. The crew, six imperial knights had to be fast. Although there was combat to distract the people in space, it still wasn't enough. If they were caught they would be blasted out of the sky. Regrettably the safest hyperspace route would take them right through the path of combat.

The old Jedi master was in his room when the ship dropped out of hyper space. He contemplated his plans, thought about what he had seen and experienced. He remembered the tall woman that had greeted him when he had left the High Council Spire. Poor lost girl relying on a droid. Yolem agreed to the idea to meet with her once he got back. It for sure was an interesting story that surrounded her. Also he could try to help her.
He also pondered over his idea. Asking Imperials for help. Inviting them to shape a new future. It was not really one of his favorite ideas. Being close to 800 years old he had his very own resentments. Yet again it would help to create a balance. At least he hoped so. Giving them a chance to speak once the battle for Kuat was over and not starting a new war between the Jedi and the Sith. The galaxy could need a rest.
The courier ship of the Corellian factories dropped out of hyperspace and immediately sounded the alarm. A space battle was going on and the small ship was unarmed. Evasive maneuvers started and the captain of the ship immediately broadcasted the code of the Jedi identifying the ship as the vessel of an ambassador.
Master Yolem, there is a battle going on. We try to evade them should we make for the jump point? The captain was a young man who was quite unexperienced. Eager to follow the book and a bit of a coward. He had taken up the job as the captain of this ship for it seemed quite secure. No battles but close enough to the battlefield that he could brag around. He was sweating and waiting for orders.
Send the message of our arrival to the planet you will. Head for the spaceport we will and land we will. If insecure you are ready the drop pods you may but not forget you should a mission we have.

A signal for the Jedi ship was sent despite the battle. It seemed the Droids gave zero to no fucks about it and continued on with their jobs. Attached to it was a unimpressive audio recording. Welcome Jedi, please follow the designated path. Any deviated may lead to death from the attacking forces or our own. Have a nice day.

The Silvius, the Nebulon-B frigate, moved in concordance with its skipper's orders: Engage the Poison. Hangar doors open venting a two very different squadrons of fighters. The first, Predators, moved quickly to intercept and engage the enemy fighters attacking the Aggressor-SD. They split into shield trios, the first two engaging the antique patrol craft with quad linked laser cannons, while the third, opened up on the lead X-83 attacking the Aggressor's right flank. The second squadron, TIE Interdictors, flew towards the Poison, and locked on with proton torpedoes, firing at maximum range, though interestingly enough, the torpedoes had more range than the targeting computers, and would easily reach their target. The Silvius trains all twelve of its turbolasers on the Poison, and opened fire at extreme weapons's range. The Nebulon's current heading, was an intercept course with the Poison. The Silvius' laser cannons warmed up but didn't fire, as there were no targets in range, the fighters attacking the Aggressor being just outside their max range.
Imperial Ground Turbolasers, suggest you focus your fire on the frigates, I have the fighters.

Captain Annix was in for a very unpleasant few seconds as his frigate managed to draw fire from many enemy combatants. It was very bad news considering the ships shields had already taken damage. Speed was the Black Poisons main defence and she would have to rely on the pilot's skill to make it out of this situation. It was a Xexto at the helm, employed due to his excellent reactions and four arms make him formidable at the controls. The sensors told him the incoming fire quicker than it was relayed verbally and so as the Captain warned about the incoming projectiles the helmsman was already moving the control sticks and redirecting power to the engines. He drained power from the environment controls for the cargo and hanger bays, knowing everyone on those levels had life support suits and were required to wear them during battle. This power he ran to maneuvering thrusters soon the fast frigate had changed course completely in a sharp turn away from the Aggressor and further below the "plane" of the battle. This move cut off line of site to half of the ships weapons, reducing her combat efficiency but increasing her survivability.
The Aggressor's shots both skimmed the shields of the Poison, inflicting serious damage once again to their integrity. Point defence lasers picked off a few of the torpedoes aimed at the ship but several more crashed into the shields. Once penetrated through a crack in the failing defence systems and impacted on the hull. There were many casualties from the resulting explosion but bulkheads closed off the breach and contained the crisis. As the enemy turbolaser reached the shields the defence system barely put up much of a fight. Those that hit their target only had their power reduced by the shields and again impacted on the hull. The bridge shook as the craft was hit multiple times, luckily not in any key systems but a dual turbolaser turret was taken offline. The Captain sat down quickly and placed his head in his hands, he had seen the damage report.
"Re-direct all power from non-essential systems to shields and engines. In fact, take weapons offline altogether to boost those systems. Lets see if we can draw more power. Send a long range burst transmission to Tatooine, code orange, get me a channel to the Serpent."
Serpent, this is Poison, engage the enemy frigate with everything you have and launch fighters to neutralise their's.
The Foul Serpent had not engaged any enemy ship or launched any of her fighters and was perfectly placed below the plane of the battle to divert the enemy away from the Poison. Turning to face the ventral surface of the enemy Nebulon-B frigate it fired all available turbolasers, aiming at the front section of the ship near to the thin bridging section. All of her fighters were spawned forth from her under-belly and formed up into wing pairs to tackle the enemy Predators. In fact they joined every X-83 as they broke off their attack on the Aggressor and focused instead on the enemy fighters. Attacking in wing pairs to combine firepower against the enemy trios. The lead X-83 took heavy damage from the first volley of enemy fire but had strong shields. He maneuvered out of the inevitable dog fight with his wing pair to repair the damage. The Mantis patrol craft broke off their attack on the Aggressor and after they had all taken shield damage turned to engage the enemy bombers. They had not encountered this type before but nothing was immune to damage. They each picked an individual target and began to fire everything they had continuously. Heavy laser cannons and rapid fire laser cannons began a relentless wave while a pair of concussion missiles were launched at their first targets.
With the Aggressor fixed on targeting the Black Poison, the Damned Daemon changed course to pass the larger enemy ship closely and focus firing on the enemy main weapons. The Daemon reaches full speed during her attack run, her Captain having a dangerous plan in mind if things go wrong.

This is Captian Shepard of the Frickstick. You wouldn't be of much help I am afraid, you look like you may just fall apart at any moment. No you stay out of this one unless we gain the upper hand. If you have any fighters to spare feel free to send them over. Orders had been given to the fighter squadrons to get into their craft and be ready for action. With only five turbolaser cannons currently operational(the 916's engineers have been ripping out circuits heard and there in an attempt to hunt a virus down, and so far have the weapons to cleanse), Thundersrike rotated untill the bridge was upside down from the battle plane and gunned its engines to make a barrier between any enemy fire and the Frickstick from above. It looked as if the Thunderstrike's bridge tower was going to hit the Frickstick's but came up 100 meters away. Those 5 turbolasers let rip at the fighters and frigites whilst its four squads of five ARC-170 fighters were released into the fray along the Ventral flight deck. "Frickstick, this is Thunderstrike, hope we didn't scare you with our close manoeuvres, just wanted to give you a breif respite to catch your breath. Command codes and call signs of our fighters have been transferred to you. Good luck. Thunderstrike out." In less then ten minutes, Thunderstrike was on its way planetside, taking a good bit of damage from the enemy. Knight Fenris looked over the damage reports and was happy, only a few dozen people were injured or dead from that little escapade. He looked at the metal case that held Grandmaster Solomon's body and the equipment laid out next to it and wondered if he knew anything about why Prakith had been attacked so violently. Was he in league with dark forces? "All will be answered in time.." he mutters as he leaves the medbays.

The bridge was a flurry of activity, with reports coming in from every station. The captian at the helm deliberated his actions when an alarm sounded.
Sir the Thunder has taken maneuvers and is about to hit us! Brace for impact. Turning back to his station he watched as the numbers got smaller. 100 Km. 10. 1. Finally things stopped at 100, and he worked to turn the alarm off. Once this was finished he began diverting power from the hangers, life support specifically. Any crews that were in there were equipped with oxygen masks and were required to wear them. Although the output was small it was enough to bolster the shields a further 5 percent.
Captian the targeted vessels weapons are offline, it may be a ruse, but for the time being all fire has stopped. Greatful for any respite he could get he made a mental note to thank the man in charge of that ship. He had saved the lives of everyone on the bridge and possibly the ship. As it rumbled from another strike he started the maneuvers to turn the ship. Send a message to those platforms orbiting the planet, order them to concentrate fire on the damaged vessel. And for gods sake tell me why the planetary guns haven't opened up yet!
The tone of his voice was obvious. Fear and desperation. Three against one wasn't working, and although there were a further 2 ships in orbit things were grim for himself. As the order was given out the orbiting turbolasers changed their aim. The small thrusters on each kicking on as they angled their guns. Those still working of the 144 started to shoot at the engines of the damaged ship. As the Flipstick turned to get a bead on Deamon, the second smaller Turbolaser was taken offline damage taken to one of the focusing coils it's energy diverted towards the engines.

Silvius's shields glowed under the vibrant assault of the Seprent, dropping to 38% strength on the port side, the bridge engineers poured energy into the shield generators, pulling it from the cargo and empty passenger deck's life support and lighting. The shields shimmered with all the fresh energy, bringing the port shield strength up to 81%. The Silvius was a slow vessel, but it's captain was aware of it's limits and manuvered so that the passing Deamon crossed the Serpent's firepath and would shield the Silvius temporarily. Seeing the poison was at least temporarily fleeing, Julius ordered his turbolaser gunners to shift their aim to the Seprent, and for the Laser gunners to work with the Predators to try and thin out those enemy fighters. Fire control officers began calling fire lanes to the Predators. The Silvius's point defense lasers saw the missiles streaking towards the slow and lumbering bombers and tried to pick them off, but the range was to great, and only one missile was destroyed.
The TIE-Predators flew nimbly through the swarm of enemy fighters, out numbered they focused on using defensive tactics to evade enemy fire until a squadmate could get a shot off. Two shield trios played chicken, each trio firing on the X-83's pursuing the other trio, as they passed, before breaking hard left to avoid colliding with the X-83's and to set up for a second run. The other two trios, heard the firing lanes being called, and began scissoring back towards the Silvius, on a path that would put them between the Silvius and the Serpent as the fighters flew past the Silvius. As they approached they flew threw several firing lanes, calling "fire occupied lane," as they flew through hoping that the laser fire would hit any pursuing X-83's. These Predators, shifted energy from their weapons into their shields to help them survive the hail of incoming fire.
The Interdictors couldn't keep up with the enemy frigate, and peeled off to fire on the Serpent, as it drew close to the Silvius. They called fire support and got one of the unengaged turbolaser cannons to open fire on the attacking Mantis'. The two fighters specifically targeted by the mantis patrol craft tried desperately to avoid the incoming fire. One took several hits from the one of the repeating laser cannons to his starboard solar array and sent him into a tight roll, which incidentally saved his life as a concussion missile streaked through the space he would have been in had he not been hit. The Other pilot was not so luck, managing to dodge the incoming fire long enough to be hit by both concussion missiles, which set off the remaining war heads in his four ordnance pods creating a spectacular and blinding explosion. The ten other TIE-Interdictors, grimly flew on, acquiring a target lock on the Serpent, and unleashing a full volley of forty torpedoes and forty concussion missiles and for what it was worth, twenty laser cannons pouring fire into the Serpent's shields. The damaged TIE-Interdictor pilot wrestled with his control yoke eventually regaining control of his bomber, he pulls it back towards the fight, thanking his lucky stars that he was still alive.

Abnormally close to the planet, a Sentinel-class drop ship appears from hyperspace. It carries one unconscious prisoner and a squad of storm troopers as escort. The pilot engaged his sublight engines and threw the throttle as far forward as it would go, hoping to slip into the atmosphere unmolested, since the battle was a short distance to its right and it was closer to the planet than any of the other ships in orbit, that it could see. The co-pilot made sure that the imperial transponder was broadcasting properly. And sent a pre-made message to the capital down below, to be ready for an imminent prisoner arrival.

Suddenly appearing from hyperspace, an older Kappa-class shuttle entered into orbit and began descending towards the surface. Behind the controls, a broken shell of a man, trapped in a suit of armor plugged in an imperial access code from his time. A code only the former Lord Regent could know. Setting coordinates for the capital, he leaned back and let out a sigh of relief. He was home at last, and expecting a curious call from whomever received his clearance code before he hit the atmosphere.

After an abnormally long time a message was sent over the air waves. In reality it took a long time due to the code being sent up the ladder. The code was an older one, but it checked out. Eventually the stand in head of state got the recorded message. This is Ganner Draco, I dont know how you got that code but you have five seconds to explain yourself before I order the turbo laser grid to toast your ass. Had this been the average lost person the reception would have been a little kinder but Draco knew.
That was the codes for a man long dead and with the state of the galaxy as it was no chances could be taken. As it was the grid was on stand by tracking the inbound vessel.

A grin formed across the man's scared lips as the message came in. Tapping in a few keys on the dashboard, he stood up as the holoprjector kicked on. Before the man who addressed himself as Ganner Draco stood a blocky armored being in a ragged white cloak. Speaking through his helmet, his voice had a metallic echo to it as he said.
How dare you address your Lord Regent like some petty intruder. Now shut down the grid and meet me on the landing pad.
Cadeous Fel slowly crossed his arms and waited for Draco's response.

As the seconds ticked by the lasers began to glow green as their shots charged and waited. Agonizing seconds for the souls on boards as well as Fel I would assume. Eventually though a set of coordinates were sent to the landing pads and not another words said.

Cade's grin returned as his instruments signaled the deactivation of the turbolaser grid.
You made the right decision Ganner. I'll be setting down momentarily.
Shutting down the holoprojector, Cade took his place in the pilots chair and finished his descent towards the surface.

Out of hyperspace, the Nune-class Imperial Shuttle from Tatooine exits from its journey and enters Aargau's space. THe pilots send the ID code for Valstrol Horica, known who is under an alias, to the Orbital security and fleet. After a few moments, Valstrol returns to where his stepson was, sitting among the Stormtroopers within the shuttle.
I guess we both have questions and answers we want from each other, am I correct, Vallen?
