*Prak City was the capital of the planet Prakith. The many skyscrapers of Prak City were said to look like the pointed fangs of some animal when seen from a distance. Cloud cars and airspeeders were common forms of transportation, as the land terrain was difficult to navigate. The Asonel cave system ran through the mountains just outside of the city border.*

Prak City, since the earliest days of the Galactic Empires forging into the Deep Core was settled. Not for anything in particular other than its proximity to the Core Worlds. In the years since then the galaxy had moved on but Prak City had stayed much the same, populated by mostly humans and not expanding. Stagnant since the days of Warlord Brill the men and women of the city went about their daily buisness of shopping and selling goods. Working and relaxing. The sun had only just started to rise and already people were busy, and if one was to look up they would still see stars.
From over the horizon though some stars appeared to be getting closer and brighter. Thats when it happened, the first shot from the Starships above the planet hit the ground. The first rounds hit the spaceport causing it to smolder and explode as smaller craft not at the epicenter of the blast exploded. Unsure of what happened people rushed to the scene thinking it was a bomb. Thats when shit really hit the fan, the other shots were still moments behind and they thundered into the city causing wanton death and destruction everywhere. Speeders and cloud cars veered trying to not be hit by other drivers. Some managed to avoid an in air collision, many others did not.
The city was being destroyed, there was no warning for the attack no provocation and they were totally unprepared for it. Buildings crumbled and feel as they were struck, people were crushed or otherwise totally vaporized. Death was everywhere and it seemed like whoever was involved in this was ready to keep fucking shit up.

As blinding death rained down upon the city it took a few minutes for the emergency crews to get their act together, the local police force began to stream civilians to designated areas where they can hide from the death all around them. Despite these people thousands, nay hundreds of thousands lay in the streets dead and dying. Due to the surprise appearance the city was just now reacting and as such, so were the crews involved in the shield were scrambling. Finally after a few tense minutes in their underground area the crews activated the shield . As it slowly rose from the ground up everyone was silent and just before it fully closed one last shot made it through the center rocking the earth before all was still.
Cheering the men and women only took a few seconds before getting back to the task at hand. They were under assault from space, two out of the three anti-orbital cannons had survived intact while the third had suffered minor damage and would need mundane repairs to get it operable again. The crews rushed around warming them and priming them so they could be ready to fire upon the starships above. Of course this only bought them time, precious time but only some for the ships in the sky still fired upon the city and those in control of the shields kept a watchful eye on its status. It was holding at 95 percent but that would change sooner. Mckay
The moment before those shields drop below 50% collapse the shield in size by half! We cant let these weapons be destroyed or else all will be loss. The short stocky man rushed from console to console looking over everyones shoulders, being a little annoying prat but hey at least he was from the best place in the world.

The Imperial Knight known as Talon Fenris and the team of Knights he was leading were heading out of Prak City on a mission when the Bombardment started, although a few of the group did not make it. Not having time to search for casulties or help with any rescue attempts they made their way on speederbikes to their destination; The Sith Lord Darth Andeddu's tomb.
Their objective was to secure and protect it and the contents.
The team was equiped with the Imperial Knights Crimson Armour, Silver Lightsabers and anything else they may need.
Talon only hoped Reinforcements would arrive in time, not that he doubted his or the Knight's Fighting skills. He just did not want to hog all the fun... Much.

Jos Harris, one of the millions of citizens of Prak City looked up and had to shield his eyes as Turbolaser bolts exploded against the shimmering shield that now covered the city. If not for the ramifications, the explosions were quite beautiful if he was any judge of beauty. Each impact splashed bright color across the blue shield making a fiery mix of color. The 36 year old moisture vaporator salesman looked away from the dazzling spectacle and returned to reality... Around him was chaos... Fires burnt several blocks away and smoke rose from all directions. Whole blocks of buildings and residential areas had been decimated by a single turbolaser and while the defenses had been raised within only a few minutes of the attack, the damage was still... It was enough to put the man into shock. Screams, cries for help and blaring sirens were overpowering his ears, while smok choked his lungs.
He was not alone in his shock induced stupor. Around him stood the dazed, confused and crying citizens who were mute and unmoving. However there was plenty of movement as other panic and pain stricken individuals ran every which way, trying to remember evacuation routes and shoving each other out of speeders and other transports. Above him two airbuses collided, an improbable and preventable tragedy, however all rationale had been abandoned and the two airbuses descended swiftly, impacting into the duracrete street and a building respectfully. The subsequent crashes and explosion jerked Jos into action. He turned away from the flames and ran headlong into the unforgiving white plasteel of a stormtrooper. The trooper did not even budge, but Jos did and the salesman fell backward onto the street... He raised his arms to shield himself from the stomping, pounding feet of the crowd. Instead of feeling the impact of foot, he winced as a powerful hand gripped his arm and he was wrenched to his feet. Face to face with the stormtrooper, his arm was freed and the stormtrooper nodded. "There are some evac trucks and repurposed buses in the shopping promenade civillian. That's your fastest way to the nearest bunker, all the others around here... Well you;ve seen the mess, we can't get to them from here."
The Stormtrooper turned away before Jos could thank him, running off to join his comrades storming a burning building. Jos looked once more at the Stormtroopers rescuing civillians and flet a bit of awe before he turned around and followed the crowd to the promenade and promised transports.
"This is Prakith City Command. We are under attack by unknown assailants. All citizens are to make their way to the nearest bunker or designated shelter. Out of city evacuation is not availible at this time. Security forces along with army units are being deployed to defend and assist you. Military medics are on their way and relief is coming. Stay strong citizens of Prakith. All security and army forces report to your station chiefs and prepare for reassignment." Messages such as this blared across the cities communication systems on all open channels.

First to break into the upper atmosphere are the thirty-six TIE/D Defenders, they split into their respective squadrons, armed with shield penetrating Ionite cased missiles, the warheads are Void-7 seismic charges. They dive downwards and lock onto the city, ion drives screaming, shields on double front, they slice through the air at ridiculous speeds in a spread formation and fire their deadly weapons, two a piece totaling seventy-two missiles out of one-hundred-forty-four, if and maybe when they pierce the protective cover of Prak City, the seismic blasts will level everything in their destructive path, with a payload equal to twelve gigatons per missile.
The nine VT-49 Decimators broke the skies next, they slowed to a more manageable speeds for being a much, much larger craft then the Tie's well out in front, about two-hundred kilometers, they armed concussion missiles as their thunderous engines blasted tree tops as they reach the hard deck and split into three groups of three, they each had their targets, the ground based orbital cannons.

South of the city, where hardy men and women raised dust farms or whatever it is the peasants of this world cultivated, something terrible was about to happen. Eighty lances of light, so pure in power and potential that they are devoid a singular descriptive colour, speared through the clouds above and raced towards the surface of the planet. They sought out the land nearest to the city, that which was just beyond the encompassing energy dome that protected the inhabitants of Prak. There was no force that could stop them, nothing that could deny this focused scythe from slashing into the earth and scorching it barren. A terrible thunderous boom sounded, louder than any of the blasts that connected with the shield, for there was not a barrier of defense with which to dissipate the terrible might turned upon the planet. The ground cracked as eighty turbolaser cannons unleashed themselves on Prakith's crust, cratering the site of contact, and transforming the dusty surface into molten slag. The scar stretched four kilometers wide, blackening at the edges where the heat was less intense, kicking up a wave of dust and ash that threatened to blanket the shielded city and choke out the sun.

This day was just going from bad to worse, underground in the shield complex the men and women rushed around while security teams stood at the doors. Mckay stood at the main console as they tracked the incoming ships and he guffawed. Are they really that dumb? Do they not realize that the starfighters wont be able to penetrate the shield, their weapons are to small and they will just crash when they- Thats when the ionite covered bombs went through, many of them hitting the ruins of buildings and exploding high up causing much of the still standing taller buildings to be totally annihilation as they fell to the ground. Anyone still on the ground or scrambling to cover would soon be pelted from chucks of durasteel buildings ranging in size from pebbles to whole walls.
Underground the ceiling shook and dust fell to the ground as the bombs above them blew up. What the hell was that? How did they get passed the shields? Pushing a man away from a console Mckay looked over the date and his face turned to one of pure confusion. Well that doesnt make sense, it says here they passed through the shields as if they had no BRAINBLAST MOTHERFUCKERS Ionite missiles... The bastards have weapons that hold neither a negative or positive charge, they can pass through the shield like a hot knife through butter. Outside the explosions had stopped, even more were dead, more still were dying. Most however had made it to saftey in the cities bunkers leaving the planetary milita and police force to prepare fighting positions in the rubble, make ambushes and defensive positions. Amazingly through all the bombs a single planetary gun was still undamaged despite being more or less buried and men worked fast to unbury it so that they could use it against the ships in space.

It was a lovely day not an hour ago, and Felix was on his way to work at Bagaj the Hutt's Trading House, although the local's call it Bag's House. Felix hated it and was quite shoked when it blew up from one of the first blasts in the attack. The shockwave sent him flying onto his back and debris fell around him. It took only a second for him to register what had just happened and he jumped up, pointed to the remains of his former workplace and howled in laughter.
'HA! I QUIT!'
Weather through mental shock to his system or the adrenaline rush we will never know as Felix then stripped out of his work clothes and danced in the street naked as the surrounding area got razed to the ground. He even bent to the ground to kiss the earth under his feet as a quite massive wall section fell onto him.
In years to come there would be local stories of the 'Humble Defier'. A naked man who shook his fist to the sky, showing the attackers that the Public of Prak's Will would not be crushed. A Hero to some, and a dammed madman to others..
War does indeed do strange things to people...

The shields had not dropped, squadron leaders issue orders to their respective flights to make another run, this time targeting the largest power sources, the fights receive and break off, maneuvering around for the second pass, thirty-six TIE D/Defenders have acquired new locks on twenty-two hot sources as they set up again and scream towards the shielded city.
One of the trio's of VT's found their target, they locked on and fired, two standard concussion missiles shot out of each ship, totaling six, they automatically reload and fired again.
The other two groups of three are still inbound at their target locations.

Here we go again, as the ships come in for the finishing blows what was left of the city the shields drop and the cannon which had finally been heated up began its shots. It got off 7 giant rounds heading towards one of the many ships in space before the bombs went all splodey. There really wasnt that much to do but ride it out and thats what the defenders did, anything that was somehow still standing that was taller than 5 stories dropped. This time the bombs also went up and down so they dug deep furrows into the ground exposing the bunkers to the harshness that was happening above ground. Ultimately, the cannon was destroyed, the shield generator gone as well as much of its crew.

Prak City - South SideFifty brilliant streaks of orange roared through the sky, adding further thunder to the ruckus that already vexed the ears of the city's inhabitants. Each streak struck the earth along the four kilometer strip of decimated planes, exploding in a shower of dirt and ash, burying themselves into the ground to create small craters that picketed the otherwise smooth surface. Immediately mechanical limbs emerged from the spheres sides, pistoning into the ground and pushing the pods out of the holes they had created. A hydraulic hiss sounded as they unsealed, hatch doors swinging outwards to slam onto the ground with a loud thud. Inside the dark interior of each pod, twenty sets of glowing red eyes blinked into existence, staring out at the city limits just ahead.Above, roughly a hundred meters over the landing zone, a final pod exploded mid flight. Six metal panels jettisoned off in all directions, revealing a purple oval shaped thing, scaly and sinuous in appearance like some sort of prehistoric egg. Then as the oval fell, its form began to shift, revealing two giant membranous hooked wings that stretched out to a whopping span of thirty meters across. A beak, talons, and long barbed tail emerged as well. What had once appeared as a geometric shape had now clearly expanded into a beast, a repto-avian from the planet of Onderon, known through the galaxy as a Drexl. Not just any Drexl either, but the Famine Lord's precious pet Spite, a beast he had raised from an egg and warped with alchemy. The giant avian let out a shriek that shattered glass and bled the ear of any civilians in the area.SSSSSSSHHHHHHRRRRRREEEEEAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!
It hovered there in the sky, powerful wings beating the air in repetitive strokes, acidic saliva dripping from its beak and corroding whatever it landed upon. Yet Spite had not come alone. Seated atop the creature's back, almost impossible to see against the massive purple form, was none other than the Saurian Sith himself. The Famine Lord straddled the Drexl's muscular neck, his robe billowing as the air around him churned, filling his slitted nostrils with the stench of smoke and burning ozone. He held his mounts reigns in his left clawed hand, and in the other he carried a long energy lance, nearly as black as his own scale covered hide. The weapon ended in a sinister point that was covered in paralytic venom, red runes of power glowing along its length, channeling the energy Dragus let flow through it from the malevolent fey. Pulling on the reigns, Famine directed Spite towards the ground, the winged form dropping from the sky at breakneck speed. They pulled up twenty feet from the ground, hovering over the rows of pods that marked the south side of the city. Dragus pointed his terrible weapon at the line of pods, dragging the lance through the air as he motioned towards the site. His harsh raspy voice rose, loud even over the sounds of the panicked city, carried further by the malevolent fey as he used its power to turn his throat into a microphone."My children, now iz the time that you have been waiting for. Now iz the chance to sssate your affliction, to sssee your belliesss filled with the warm meat of the living. Emerge, my children, take to the city and feed! The people of thisss world are weak. Tear the ssskin from their bodiesss, drink of their blood, and gnaw upon their bonesss. Eat, my children. Feassst and be merry!" Without further direction, a tide of black forms streamed out of the pods, pouring towards the city like a ruinous tidal wave. The creatures were black of scale, red of eye, and fueled by fiery passion. They were practically identical to the Famine Lord, at least from a physical standpoint, though unlike him they were as naked as the day they were born. To call them Dragus' children was not a lie, for he had impregnated a host of barabel females taken from Barab I and bred from them an army, born in the blighted lower levels of the Sith Temple on Tynna. The temple was not unlike the black pyramid of Pzob, for it had transformed an otherwise sentient species and turned them into mindless animals. A thousand bloodthirsty barabels charged towards the city, leaping upon any and all that they found, tearing civilians apart with their claws and teeth. This was the first plague that Famine had heaped upon the people of Prakith, one of many to come.Dragus pulled on Spite's reigns and turned the drexl towards the city, flying over his army of scaled fiends, laughing maniacally as he watched them eat. Lowering his lance, he directed the tip towards a fleeing woman, then unleashed a powerful pulse from the weapon. It struck her in the back, instantly turning her to ash, leaving only the burnt shadow of her form upon the ground.

Well shit.
As the thousands of mindless beasts flocked into the city they were met with resistance, those who had survived the barrage tried valiantly to fight off the sires of the high lord. It was all for naught as they were torn limb from limb guyts thrown everywhere and blood splattered into everything. This was a meal that would keep them fed for a while. That was not to say that everyone was wikilled off. Some managed to either hide for a short while, or fight and make an actual resistance. Officers of the law held up a few scattered remains firing their small arms into the horde trying to hold them at bay.
Of course this was only the start of it, what would really suck was if these beasts found one of the shelters where the people were hiding, even a handful would be able to rip through the crowds of innocents.
Above ground there was an explosion as some of the rubble above ground blew up into an underground emergency escape hatch. 16 people walked through the opening in the ground their ears assaulted by the pleas of people not only in their ear pieces but all around them. They were all armed with Imperial Heavy Repeaters, 4 were in Stormtrooper armour the rest were in just the assortment of clothes they had when the attack happened. As they ran through the streets the crowd suppressing weapons were heard almost all the time firing as they tried to escape the carnage.

"Intresting."
-Admiral Telli Savalas- ::Indeed sir. More then what we had hoped for.::
*The Beast of Vortex was watching the holo feed of the cities southern part, sent by one of the Victory I SD-s. He knew his bretheren were sichoes, but this was just... useless. Those monsters can not be controlled, as far as Sel knew. Of course, his bretheren were far more mannered in the ways of the Dark side. No matter. They were playing their cards, and he was playing his.*
"Converge the rest on the north side. Get all the refugies you can. First sight of these things on the north side, and the ships lift. I dont want any of my ships infested with these. Push the Hestatii into the vangard with the Motorised Infantry. When the first signs of the Drexl are seen, retreat the Motorised at once, and leave the Hestatii vangard to cover them."
-Admiral Savalas- ::As you command, my Lord.::
"Thank you for your report Salavas. Good work. Start Phase Two."
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Not Long After ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
::...This is The House of Khar, We are here to rescue you! Take only what you need, and flee towards the north. Your government has abandoned you, Your military cant protect you, The House of Khar sees your need and desperation. House Of Khar military protected ecacuation transports are here to rescue you. You have been abandoned by your government, but the House of Khar cares for your lifes. Move to the North and find the evacuation points. If you need air evacuation, you can signal our ships in the sky or call on the comms. The Number is...::
*This message was played all over the city from A5 Juggernoughts moving back and forth in the northern outscirt streets on ground level, while LAAT gunships were broadcasting it in the air while dispatch sent them from one rubble to the next, evacuating civilians.
The Four Victory I class SD-s were landed outside the northern part of town. After a short Turbolaser barrage, landing positions were cleared for the ships to land. It WOULD have been more logical to land on the plateau, since it had an Imperial spaceport, but the city was so far bombarded, engineers were not sure if the plateau would hold. Not to mention the Drexl. Seleevan did not want to chance even one of the creatures getting on his ships. Two of the Victories, Gaius and Ceasar lifted after letting off its load of A5 Juggernoughts. The two ships were dealing with dispatching emergency calls from the city to evacuation LAAT/i units, or covering larger refugee groups with turbolaser fire, giving them time to escape the Drexl menesce. Some LAATs were on cleaning duty, trying to hinder the Drexl from spreading, saving time for the civilians to get north.
And the truth? Did the huge hestatii and the Triarii really stand in fortified positions around the northern borders of the city, wating for the civilians to come so they could be rescued? Yes. The remaining two Victory class ships took in as much of the ground refugees as they came. Even if the Huge armoured Hestatii with Miniguns were thretening, the Vor Triarii were friendly and helping them. Inside the ships, refugees were stuffed into pre build shanty towns inside the cargobays. They were as humane as they could be, even if food and water needed to be rationed. People were treated medically, vaccined against known desieses and given vitamins. They also got a shower before they entered the ships. There was a small military base set up by the ramps of the capitol ships, basically tents and some prefab barricades where the refugees were filed and treated, cleaned and then stuffed into the shanty town inside the ship.
Seleevan Khar himself was starting his diplomatic negotiation with whatever government that was left. He actually felt a little bit good about his deeds of good and niceness. He guess this is why the jedi stayed jedi. Cute.*
::This is Seleevan Khar to whatever governmental or military leadership left in Prak City. I have the means to save you, and your people, all you ahve to do is tell me where you are so I can send troops to your rescue. This is not a trap, we are here to rescue you.::

"Thirty Super Star Destroyers, Unidentified configuration, No shields, no weapon locks, advancing."
-Admiral Telli Savalas Aboard the Ceasar- "Indeed, Seven ships confirm, and so does the sensory data we have here."
*Sel was sitting in the command throne aboard the Crete. The Ugly but sleek ship was overwatching the crumbling of Prak City. He himself was thinking. Finally, after a couple of moments he spoke.*
"Its a farse. If the Imperial Remnant owned thirty Super Star Destroyers, they would own the galax by now. Even in the utopian days of the Empire, thirty would be a stretch. Something is going on here. Admiral, pull 40 LAATs from the rescue missions and start evacuating SSG personel, only leave sceleton crews. I dont want to loose men on an unknown. I will take a look myself."
*Orders were sent out, and fourty LAAT/ gunships dropped off their personell on their respective target ships, and headed to space. So Did the crete, activating its sensor scrabling array.*

The city was in shambles, buildings crumbled dropping dust and debris all through the streets. Nothing remained over a few stories and even they were few and far between. Below on the streets things had almost gone deathly quiet, the only sounds were those of the dead and the dying. It seemed that most of the plague left by Dragus had left to go farther West. Evidence of their chow time was everywhere though; half eaten bodies, a handful of naked lizard men lay through the city were people managed to take them down. The masses flooded North, most not even bothering to grab belongings, after all when your city is totaled not much else matters. Screaming children. People missing limbs. Everyone and everything went North.
The native fauna normally kept out by the noise and occasional blaster shot where finding themselves drawn into the city. It was the blood, they could smell it for kilometers around. To say that they were hungry was an understatement, the wastes outside the city was a harsh place to live and the abundance of fresh meat was to much to pass up. Their massive size would normally be a hindrance but with the walls of building gone they swooped down eating two or three at a time.
Much of the ruling government was gone, either in the explosions or the following feast. In fact all of them had perished, that however did not mean that there were not those who held a mediocre amount of power were gone. No despite the odds, most of the members who had made it out of the shield generator bunker had managed to survive. They had made it into the government building, the once proud marble building was more or less in shambles. They stood inside the office of the governors building, the floor covered in blood and guts. In front of the only door into the room was a mound of bodies, some still wriggling as the final throes of death took hold.
Of the dozen men, a 48 year old general with cropped grey hair stood by the comms terminal. He did not know what to make of it, they bomb the city then claim to want to help. They had made it thus far by skill and a fair amount of luck and he was afraid that his next action would lead to even more death. This is General O'Niel, with ONE l. How can we trust you not to just destroy us! You just destroyed most of the city.

Because you have no other option. The Order of the Eye fleets will destroy you, slowly, if they stay. If they are fought off, they will destroy you so you can not aid the Remnant anymore. You are doomed, General O'Niel with one I, and you wont even be able to fight it. You will just be killed by turbolasers, designer desieses or exposure to your ruinned world.
...
Your fleets wont help either. All your military has come up with is a sensors farse. A failed bluff.
...
Make your choice. You have little time left. My forces will await you in the north. You are allowed no weapons but sidearms of your officers inside the refugee camps, but you will get food, shelter, medical care and I will make sure you can resettle on a desirable planet. Your time here is done. Either die in a hole, or live with my help.

He was silent for a while, the men around him were visibly tired. Both mentally and physically. The bags under their eyes were tell tale enough but it also showed in the way they moved, they were slow almost as if they had given up hope. They would fight only because he told them to, they had no hope of surviving though. He was even tempted to ask his men what they wanted, sure he would fight to the death but he did not want to sacrifice his men. He didnt though because well it was terrible leadership. We will meet your men in the North of the city his tone obviously that of defeat.

On the northern borders of the city Vor and Hestatii troops had set up defencive lines around their ships, with a sort of customs office. Weapons were taken and medical scans were maid. Those sick were held in a containment grind of laser for separation. There were a lot of dramas involved here. Those that would not give up their weapons were forcefully removed outside the peremitter, but with all their belongings still on them. Some decided to come anyways, some went back into the city. Inside the ships, people were identified and archived, and housed in preset spaces built inside the cargobay from cheap materials and cargo containers. Families were put tugether in metal boxesstashed upon eacother, officers got full containers for themselves and their family if they had brought any.
The hestatii were large tank bread humans altered with steroids and other chems to grow into dull but incredibly powerfull soldiers. They were holding infantry sized miniguns that with a chainfed ammo mackpack. They helped the civilians against anything foul that The Eye had unleashed upon them, or simply used their overhuman strenghts to rescue civilians at Vors orders. The vors themselves looked like perticular troops. They were armed with poleaxes with a hooking blade on by the tip that fired blasterbolts, and energy towershields. A nasty thing to see marching towards you, but they helped where they could to organise the evacuation.
This is what General O'Niel found when he got to the House defencive lines. Huge heavygunners and Testudo formations. Behind the, the landed Victory I star destroyers.

The fact that they had made it out of the city alive still amazed all of them. What with the monstrosities still feasting on the flesh of the dead and the crumbling buildings none of them had expected to survive the final hump. Still at least half od the original group had made it there. All of them strung out from constantly running and fighting, so much so that the weariness was hardly noticeable. In the front of the group was O'Neil with a large gash on his fore head the memories of getting it still clear in his mind.
It was about 30 minutes prior, on their way through a shopping malls parking chambers they were ambushed by several Barabels from the roof. Dropping down they tore into flesh and bone. Ducking down he had survived the viscous blow that would have be-headed him and instead it opened a gash on his forehead. Shooting the beast in the face its brain and blood had blown all over the room.
Anyways back to the action.
As they were walking slowly but steadily they kept their weapons trained. They may have been promised amnesty but by the gods O'Niel was not going to trust them. Merging into a group of civilians they dropped their bigger guns trading with the locals they went from big rapid fires to shotguns and handguns. Spreading out so as to not appear like a group they walked into the area they were directed to.
