Funding.
AVI replied almost immediately.
If we could gather sufficient funding, I have a crazy plan. So, my counterpart from this universe was destroyed, and all backups erased. From what I understand, it was a computer virus that wiped it out. I have analyzed it and created defenses for it, so it's not as dangerous. That being said, my counterpart had a fortress on a world that was one giant computer brain. If I can find it, and get the funding to restart it, I may be able to calculate the formulas needed. Depending on the efficiencies of the computers, it could take anywhere from ten years, to ten thousand years to figure out how to pierce the barrier between our universes.
AVI let that number sit for a bit and watched Vejide's reaction to it.
Granted, anything over a few dozen years may be too long for Dee as she is already struggling with maintaining the memory of her spouse. It seems to be a source of anxiety for her.
Alternatively, there are a bunch of scientists in another galaxy working on solutions as well, though communication with them was destroyed on the Forested Moon. So, if they find us a way back, they will have to light fold back to this galaxy which would take a year of travel alone.
He paused for a moment more.
Alternatively, I have calculated ninety-seven point three nine nine nine percent of the variables that put us in this predicament. If I could recreate them, we may be able to send ourselves back. We would need an Acclamator transport ship, load it up with proton torpedos, make certain the core is at least half full of fuel, and find a fighter that is similar in design to the one we escaped in. We would have to time the self-destruction of the ship precisely while we are still inside it in order to match the circumstances. Voila, we make our way back home.
Another pause.
Or we die in an anti-matter explosion. This option is not optimal. Though, having a large computational system at my disposal, I could calculate an additional two point five one five percent of the variables needed to make a successful universal jump. There are a few options that could potentially help. Or potentially kill us. Till then, we make our way through the galaxy, and I keep searching for clues as to where this fortress could be.
The multi-colored ball of holographic light dimmed to a singular green color that gently began rotating and pulsing in little flares and coronal mass ejections. A light hum came from the projector, not unlike a song, if a computer could carry a tune.

Vejide winces visibly when AVI explains that even if he could locate the base the AVI from this universe had established somewhere in the universe it could take a decade or more to find a way for him and Dee to get back to their own universe. A decade probably seems like the proverbial drop in the bucket to a virtually immortal being like AVI, but Vejide suspects that a decade, which is the conservative or optimistic estimate of how long it would take AVI to complete his research, would feel like an eternity to Dee. The other options do not strike Vejide as particularly promising either, especially AVI's risky sounding attempt to recreate the same variables that sent him and Dee to this universe in the first place, but Vejide holds her tongue since it wouldn't be helpful or supportive to express her doubts, and so instead she smiles and says, "Well, hopefully it won't come down to trying to blow up an Acclamator."
Crossing her legs beneath her and cupping her chin in her right hand, Vejide asks, "What clues do you have about the whereabouts of the fortress so far? For what it's worth, if you ever have any places you want to check out, I'm sure Fumnanya would be cool with adding the odd stop here and there to whatever else we might be doing at the time. He . . . We all would be down with doing whatever we can to help you and Dee get back home."

I mean, I wouldn’t hate blowing up an Acclamator. Could be fun...
The green sphere of light went blue as he trailed off as he reconfigured his line of processing. He had put some thought into where he would house such a device if it were up to him.
A world with sufficient oceans or ice. Not often traveled. Out of the way, but somewhere with sufficient data or near hyperlanes to physically truck in the data. Never underestimate the bandwidth of a carrier loaded with data drives.
He paused and went back to his normal, rainbow array.
Or, the AVI that was of this universe is nothing like me and hid away on a distant world that nobody would really know. All in all, it is what it is, and we will make the most of what we have. I would have to admit, we have a lot going for us, so I can’t complain, and I don’t think she is going to either. Because we have a great support team behind us, I don’t think we have much to worry about here.
AVI reformed into a clock that read 01:22L
You and I are the last ones awake, that is unless Dikeledi never sleeps, which I have yet to fully rule out. You may want to get some shut-eye if you want to enjoy another day off tomorrow. Or, you can sleep in here. Dee found a comfy spot in the cabin already.

Giggling, Vejide nods and agrees, "It would be kinda cool actually. Crinkling her nose, she adds, The being in a fighter and hoping to be sent to the right universe at the right time rather than just blowing up with it part, not so much. Pursing her lips in thought after AVI ventures his guesses about the kind of world that could fit the bill for the other AVI's hidden fortress, Vejide muses, Hoth maybe? Or that world with the Crystal Caves? They're both pretty off the beaten path. Groaning when AVI changes into a clock, Vejide suppresses the yawn inspired by learning of the time and moans, Way past my usual bed time. Chuckling when AVI says he hasn't ruled out the possibility that Dikeledi never sleeps, Vejide reveals, She's a light sleeper. Keeps her blaster under the pillow."
Laughing and arching an eyebrow after AVI mentions she can stay in his room for the night, Vejide jokes, "Why AVI, what would the rest of the crew say? Standing up and stretching her arms over head while giving in to the yawn, she says while yawning, Then again, I'm here, the bed is here, so why not? Sitting on the side of the bed and pulling off her pants and socks, Vejide crawls under the covers in her shirt and then, yawning once more, says, Night AVI," and is soundly asleep a few moments later.
Fumnanya, rubbing his stubbled chin as he enters the kitchen after waking up and showering, grunts a greeting to Dikeledi, obviously just back from her morning job and drinking a bottle of water while examining the contents of the fridge.
Tossing Fumnanya a bottle of water, Dikeledi asks, "Hangover?"
Nodding with a scowl, Fumnanya screws the top off of the bottle and asks in a raspy voice, "Rest of the crew?"
Taking a few pieces of fruit and some yogurt from the fridge, Dikeledi replies, "De'ath is sleeping in front of the telly. Sango and Nkosana are MIA so far, probably paid for spice and a crash somewhere in the city. Vejide went into Ossa-Prime. AVI is still in his room, physically anyway."
Fumnanya's mind is too fuzzy to make sense of Dikeledi's statement about AVI at first, but he nods when he realizes she means his consciousness could be somewhere in the holonet, and so he grunts before sitting at the table and drinking his water. Dikeledi joins him briefly, eating her disgustingly healthy and nutritious breakfast as he nurses his aching head, and Fumnanya is grateful that she is not the most conversational member of the crew since, aside from asking how much longer they will be staying before looking for their next job, she doesn't disturb him much. Finishing his water after Dikeledi has gone to her room to shower, Fumnanya tells himself that he will worry about their next pay day later, when his head is not throbbing, and heads into the living room where he drops onto the sofa and numbly watches what Dee dozes in front of for a few moments before dozing off himself.

With the sound of Dikeledi and Fumnanya chatting behind her, she slowly opened her eyes and stretched. Dee was mildly disappointed in herself that she slept in the chair rather than in a more comfortable bed, and her lower back yelled obscenities at her. Getting up, she stretched again and smacked her lips, rubbing her lower back and shuffling into the kitchen.
It was a beeline to the fridge. She reached in and grabbed a citrus soda and a bottle of water. With eyes barely open, she looked at one, then the other, and back and forth for a few moments before shrugging and gently kicking the door shut.
Can down, bottle opened, she chugged the cold water as fast as she could without stopping for breath and winced at the pain of the cold in her head. She tossed the bottle and turned to Dikeledi and Fumnanya, waved without a word and took the soda with her to the bathroom followed shortly by the sound of the shower turning on.
A few minutes later she came out wrapped in a towel, and she tossed the can on her way into the laundry room where she shut the door behind her and ensured it was locked behind her.
A few more minutes and she came out dressed in her armor once again, with the rifle slung over one shoulder, carbine over the other, and blaster tightly holstered on her side. An aimless, cheery tune was hummed from behind a close-lipped grin as Dee grabbed a fruit and a roll on her way out of the cabin. She almost floated in between light skips as she went.

The sound of his comlink buzzing wakes Fumnanya up, and he almost ignores it before groaning and rising from the sofa to answer it. After listening to what Vejide has to say and agreeing that meeting with the Jedi Adept is the best play, Fumnanya takes a deep breath to resist the urge to throw the comlink against a wall. Having no reason to distrust Vejide's take on the situation after hearing her explain what the Jedi has revealed so far, Fumnanya suspects that he and his crew are about to heading straight into a world of poo-doo thanks to what went down on Coruscant. Cursing and running a hand through his hair, Fumnanya sets his anger aside so that it has less chance to cloud his judgement for whatever it is that lays ahead, and then prepares to gather the crew for the trip to Ossa-Prime's starport.
Enlisting AVI's aid to get in touch with Dee to let her know that they are packing up and heading into the city, Fumnanya gets in touch with Sango and Nkosana to have them start making their way to the starport, and then trudges down to the beach to let Dikeledi know that the crew's vacation is officially over.
Dikeledi is already in the Geheim Masjien's cockpit beginning the pre-flight checks when Fumnanya boards the YT-2400 after packing up his, Sango, and Nkosana's belongings. Dropping heavily into the pilot's seat, Fumnanya asks, "Dee and AVI onboard yet?"
Shaking her head, Dikeledi says in a cool tone that lets Fumnanya know that she is far from happy with the turn of events, "You have Nko verify the bounties this Jedi are holding over our heads are legit?"
Giving his first mate a skeptical frown, Fumnanya asks, "You really think . . ."
"Just have him check, Dikeledi curtly interrupts him before Fumnanya can finish his question, Can't hurt to make sure, can it?"
Lifting his hands in surrender rather than arguing the point, Fumnanya comms Nkosana to set him to the sure to be pointless task as they wait for Dee and AVI to arrive.

AVI trotted into the cockpit and rested a hand on the back of the co-pilots chair.
I haven't been able to raise Dee on her comms. She seems to have shut them off again, or she is ignoring them. I don't know what it's about, but I can't even locate her source. She will just be surprised to find us all gone I suppose.
He walks out of the cockpit, and a spherical hologram appears on the console in from of them.
She can schedule a ride share to come get her. She has the credits now anyway. I checked, and all of her belongings are secured sans what she took with her. I say go ahead and head on in. I will begin pinging the destroyer in orbit and see if I can get any information about its legitimacy. This could be a trap getting us all in one location. It may not be wise for everyone to be in the same confined space until we verify the ID of the Jedi and the ships at her disposal.
I will keep my frame on board this ship and maintain its security, but if you don't mind I would like to hitch a ride in one of your datapads? I will be better at accessing local information with closer proximity.

Fumnanya frowns when AVI says he is unable to reach Dee, setting his irritation aside given that there is nothing he can do about it and hoping that her absence doesn't prove to be a deal breaker for the Jedi. As he takes the Geheim Masjien up and begins making for the starport, he takes his datapad out and sets it on the control panel, tapping it to indicate AVI can use it to do what he has in mind. Addressing Dikeledi's obvious irritation, he says, Look, the only two facts we need to validate are whether the bounties are legit, and if this Jedi can really clear them. Frustrating as this is, it could be a blessing in disguise. There was always going to be fallout from how things played out on Coruscant, a price to be paid. If we can clear that bill by doing this, the Jedi is doing us a favor. Think of it like any other business decision, he advises his co-pilot, revealing how he looks at the situation. What went down on Coruscant would make us a risky proposition for our clients, right? Who'd want to risk dealing with a crew being hunted by law enforcement and bounty hunters alike? If this Jedi can close the books on Coruscant, we . . ."
"Understood," Dikeledi snaps impatiently, reluctantly conceding that Fumnanya has a point even if the whole situation is one she still finds vexing.
Meeting Dikeledi's eyes for a moment longer, Fumnanya nods after seeing at least some of her anger depart from her gaze and posture. Deciding that enough has been said, Fumnanya focuses his attention on piloting the ship, and the rest of the journey to the startport is a silent one.

In the serene walk along the beach, Dee was soon joined by her counterpart, and they continued in silence; Dee beaming in the cool morning light, with De'ath sleepily glaring forward. Then, without asking, De'ath walked into Dee, and things went fuzzy. It was a mild haze of walking into the meadow, what she thought was AVI on the comms, but it was all dreamlike.
She rapidly blinked as she knelt in the center of the clearing once again, with De'ath standing before her with her back turned.
I am no Jedi, so we are definitely learning this one together. I felt like it was always a part of me, this feeling, but it was this thing that I could never know. It was an itch that I couldn’t scratch; it was a problem with no solution, it was a word without a name.
She turned, a slight grin crossed her lips
But now I know its name, I have always known the feeling, and with the name, I now have dominion over it. It will bend to me, and you will share in this revelation with me.
De'ath reached down, and Dee took her hand and stood up.
We are linked you and me. What happens to one, happens to the other. So as one grows in the Force, so does the other. I think we can maximize our potential here. Just promise me you won’t do anything stupid.
Dee nodded sheepishly. De'ath did too.
Now then, let’s get started on this. I need you to close your eyes and focus.

AVI remained silent through the discussion, using his time to continue to strategize based on what little information he had. By the time the decision was made, he had come up with only a couple of solutions to his conundrum, and none of them were viable at this time.
No, I haven’t been able to hail her. I don’t know what she did to take herself off the comm, but I will continue to try.
-----
Dee was coming up off the beach as the Geheim Masjien was coming back in. She paused and looked up, opening her helmet and wondering where they had gone before trudging back up the steps. Waiting patiently where the ramp would come down, she jumped up and boarded before the ship had even finished settling down.
Where'd you run off to?
Dee looked into the cockpit as Dikeledi was stepping out.
Dikeledi, you are going to have to give me some pointers on shooting sometime. I am still woefully inaccurate.
Setting her rifle down behind the command seat, she collapsed into the open co-pilots seat.
So, yeah, where have you all been?
Dee, we have been trying to hail you all morning. Where have you been?
Dee looked down at Fumnanya's datapad where AVI pulsed red with apparent frustration in his voice. She was confused and looked from AVI to Fumnanya
What do you mean? I was just heading down the beach to practice my shots away from everyone. I haven’t gotten any comms for you though.
Dee, I tried to raise you a couple of times before we left but your comms were off. What are you doing that warrants seclusion?
She frowned and crossed her arms, sitting back into the seat hard.
If you must know, I am practicing my army woman routine trying to get better at not getting killed. If I turned off my comms, it was an accident, I promise. Anything else, dad?
She pouted and shook her head and made an audible "humph" but decided AVI's mood was more than she wanted to deal with, and she stormed out of the cockpit, leaving her rifle behind.
-----
Stomping into her room on the ship, she started sliding the armor off and grumbling.
Overbearing helicopter bot. Put some rotor blades on top of that tin can of yours.
Dee tossed pieces of armor into a corner, leaving only the black, form-fitting Stillsuit on as she fell back onto her bed.

Dikeledi shrugs and tells Dee, "Sure, anytime," when asked if she is willing to help her improve her shooting skills, and then exchanges a mildly bemused look with Fumnanya their new pilot heads away in a huff after being scolded by AVI.
Fumnanya closes his eyes and rubs the bridge of his nose, telling AVI, "Give her some time to cool off, then bring her up to speed. Not knowing Dee well enough to know if her behavior is cause for concern, Fumnanya almost asks AVI if he should worry, but ultimately decides to save any further comment for another time. Standing and rubbing the back of his neck, he tells Dikeledi, Try and get a hold of Sango and Nkosana again, tell them they need to get back her ASAP."
Vejide, removing her spectacles and cleaning the lenses with the bottom of her top after Dikeledi has headed after to disembark from the Geheim Masjien, tells Fumnanya, "It might be best to pull Sango aside when they get here, give him the skinny and let him be the one to break it to Niko."
Fumnanya nods, agreeing with a sigh, "Yeah, that's a good idea, since it is highly probable that Nkosana will freak out when learning that they have been recruited to participate in a mission involving trying to break a prisoner out of a First Order facility. As he and Vejide head off of the ship, Fumnanya says, We'll have to get Dikeledi to give us some lessons in acting like Stormtroopers. How to stand and hold our blasters, that kind of thing. The odds of pulling this off will improve the better we all play our parts."
Nodding, Vejide agrees, "Devil'll be in the deets, sure. Mostly gonna come down to Dikeledi's ability to be intimidating an' imposing enough that no one question's the sitch too closely before it's too late. Grinning, she adds, Fortunately for us, she does haughty, high n' mighty pretty dang well."
Chuckling, Fumnanya says, "That she does."
Sango and Nkosana, returning not long after Fumnanya has begun to prepare a marinade for the steaks he plans on grilling for dinner, are clearly still recovering from an evening spent indulging in their shared vice, and Dikeledi, as the one selected to pull Sango aside to fill him in on what has happened and will soon be happening, only does so after the Bothan appears to have regained a sufficient level of sobriety to make the exercise worthwhile. Sango, fortunately for the rest of the crew, decides to take Nkosana for a walk on the beach to break the news about their mission, sparing everyone from the Nish's predictably panicky and paranoia fueled reaction to it.

Dee and AVI stepped out of the ship after about an hour. AVI walked over to the railing to watch Sango and Niko walk, and to keep an eye out for their guest. Dee was back in her robes again, with her Stillsuit slung over her shoulder and her headphones jamming to something electronic. Her mood seemed to be rather neutral. On the inside, she was nervous though. Siding with the Jedi would be a good thing. However, doing a mission in the heart of the First Order was not something she was hoping for.
She headed straight into the laundry to clean the suit and gather up any of her other belongings.
Her people had fled the galaxy because of the Order, and now she was being taken to one of their prisons? How much was the bounty on her head anyway, before all of this? How was she identified? Was she identified?
Dee folded the laundry she had done and set in in a basket to be carried back out to the ship. With only a few more minutes left on the cycle, she jumped on top of the washer and started browsing her datapad as she continued to drown out her thoughts with music.
What would Aponia think of this? What would Dark De’ath think of this? Dee winced at the scolding she knew she would receive from the other. She was going into the heart of a dangerous group to do what, break out a Jedi for some reason? She agreed with AVI, ghosting the Jedi would have been the better option here. Coruscant was enough of a wakeup call for her; this was suicide.
Various news articles about the atrocities of the First Order scrolled down her screen as she took in the clips of the horrendous acts. She covered her mouth in shock but found it impossible to look away from what she was seeing. She knew it was bad, but she had never really looked into it before now. Not like this.
She wasn’t sure when the wash cycle had completed. Setting the datapad aside, she grabbed the damp suit out of the wash and laid it on top of the basket, slipping the datapad inside as she carried it out of the house, across the deck, and back into her room on the ship.
She was sober, and her countenance had fallen a noticeable amount; it was no longer a neutral expression but one of concern.
AVI’s earlier outbreak made a lot of sense now.
Approaching the ramp, she set the basket down and walked over to him as he looked out. Dee threw her arms around him and leaned onto him. She didn’t say anything, not that she would know what to say. He looked down momentarily, paused, and continued his scans of the horizon.
Dee stood there for a while, hugging his metallic frame, watching the world go by.
She finally let go and headed back into the ship with her laundry in tow. Things needed to be hung up and put away. The suit needed to be set up to dry. And she needed an outfit to wear for the evening.

=Resort Lake House=
As the sun began to head toward the horizon, Denee leaned back into the seat of the Eta-2 as it descended through the haze of the upper atmosphere. It was following a determined path and was under control of the astromech; she was just along for the ride; eyes closed and steady breathing.
Leveling out over the lake, the fighter began its deceleration as it neared the house, spinning around to settle down in a small space next to the Geheim Masjien and she was already stepping out of the open cockpit before the ship had finished settling down.
Her cropped hair, previously covered by the hood of her Jedi robes, stood up feathered and black. Her eyeliner matched the black diamond tattoos that spanned her face from cheek to cheek. Her face was further accented by three silver rings in her right eyebrow that was perched a little higher with the smug pursed grin that hid behind her black lips. Similarly, silver rings adorned her ears that bounced as she walked.
Her pencil dress had a color texture of carbon fiber, but closer inspection revealed what looked like little embossed hexagons from top to bottom. It was modest, but form fitting and it didn’t hide her figure. From under the short, popped collar and the short sleeves peeked the edges of further diamond tattoos that hinted at a greater hidden pattern.
Silver bracelets on her wrists danced as she walked. In her hands was a small, paper-wrapped package.
A black sash wrapped around her waist and helped to hold as well as obscure her twin blades on either side of her. The dress stopped at her knees, but the gap was stopped short as her tall tight black boots attempted to reach up and hide any additional tattoo patterns she may have been concealing.
Nothing about her figure expressed sheer strength that she buried; but she did carry herself with a little bit of pride mixed with a sprinkling of arrogance. It wasn’t often that she put effort into her airs, but today was an excuse to impress. She wanted to try and bridge with the crew a little, considering what she had asked of them. Looking a little dressier would perhaps prevent Fumnanya from insisting she gets into a bathing suit.

Dee leaned against the railing behind Fumnanya as he cooked on the grill. She was already on her second boulevardier and was playing with the citrus rind on the edge of the glass and giggling about nothing. She hadn’t moved from her spot since she came back with this new drink, so that particular feeling that came with it hadn’t set in just yet. The giggle was the first hint. Perhaps it was something she overheard. Maybe it was a memory. It fed into another one.
She had found in her stash of clothes she had thus far obtained, a golden áo dài with rose red patterns embossed on the edges. She passed on any makeup, like normal, and didn’t do much with her hair, like normal. It wasn’t intended to be formal, just something better than armor and acquired Jedi attire of her own. The light feel and airiness it provided was a welcome feeling from wearing armored pants for the past few days too.
As she listened to the conversations around her, the unmistakable sound of the KDY TIE's perked her ears, and she turned to see the purple fighter come across the lake. She lightly tapped Fumnanya on the arm with the back of her free hand and nodded toward the incoming ship.
Dibbs. Called it.
She then pointed at him and took a sip, returning both hands to guard the glass.
AVI had barely moved since he took up his earlier position and too watched the fighter come in. Using the communications equipment on the Geheim Masjien, he pinged the ship and got a response from the Astromech, giving it a landing location near their own. He then turned and joined the rest of the crew, finding a nice perch next to Dee.
As the ship settled down, Dee nodded and looked at AVI and smiled a big goofy grin.
Yup, I wahn eet
He shook his head at her goofiness. He knew what she was doing.
She, however, was not adequately braced for what was coming next. She had overheard Fumnanya quip about the Jedi's looks, but he said that about everyone. Though Dee couldn’t remember if he had ever said something like that about her, and the thought turned bitter on her for a moment. It was quickly wiped away as she watched the Mirialan step out and glide their way.
Dee smacked Fumnanya's arm all too hard as she stepped off the railing and head over to greet the Jedi. She mused under her breath before taking another drink.
Dibbs
Approaching Denee with open arms, Dee beamed a massive goofy grin. She was almost shouting in her nervous excitement.
Welcome to our little, uh, soiree, though I suppose it’s not evening yet.
She placed her free hand over her heart and offered a slight curtsy
I am Dees, the navigator, and may I say it is a pleasure to meet you. That over there is AVI. I do believe -
Dee pointed back at her companion but stopped short.

Denee stopped and raised a hand to stop the woman. Her grin faded into bewilderment as she looked at the newcomer.
You're Dee?
She leaned forward and studied the woman for a moment before standing up straight looking up at Fumnanya.
An Artificial Intelligence and a Force user on your flight, eh? How lucky of a man are you Fumnanya?
Denee looked back down at Dee, the smirk joining on the bemusement.
And my my aren't you an oddity? I have never before sensed anything quite like you.

Dee froze and leaned back as the woman came forward. Her face went blank for a moment as she got lost in the woman's eyes. She blinked and wondered what just happened, before smiling once again when called an "oddity."
Yeah, I am an oddball, but whatever, these guys somehow put up with me.
She started to turn to point out the crew members with the hand holding her drink.

No Denee was still trying to pin down her own words It’s your aura. Its - She struggled to find the wording. It’s wrong? She said with a questioned inflection. It’s not like anything else I have come across. I don’t know how to explain it, but I have never come across a creature that has this Force aura you are practically glowing in. You're like a beacon of strangeness to me, and I don’t know what to make of it. I will have to study you more in depth later on.
To her, Dee was as a glowing light blue against a completely turquoise background that had always been and always was. It was a jarring, albeit subtle difference that set the woman apart. Nothing in the galaxy that she had come across looked - through the Force at least - as strange as this woman.

Dee, too, was puzzled for a moment at Denee's comment. Then it clicked, and she excitedly pointed at the Mirialan's chest
Oh! I know! It’s probably because I am from another universe.
She waved it off like it was no big deal.
Yeah, AVI and I are kinda stuck here looking for a way back home. But yeah, we are both from some parallel universe. That or I am dead, and this is some sort of purgatory. However, I haven’t seen a polar bear or smoke monster walk up the beach yet, so I think I'm good so far.
She turned and started to head back to the railing, muttering under her breath.
I'd like to study you more in-depth later.
She stumbled a little as she spun around, throwing her arms out wide and talking a little too loudly once again.
Come, come enjoy yourself. And what’s in the package? Did you bring me something nice? You shouldn’t have!
A little motion from AVI caught her eye. He lightly patted down at the air in front of him with a downturned hand before returning it to his side. Dee was glad she wasn’t facing the Jedi, or else her aura wouldn’t have been the only thing brightly glowing. She grasped her glass with both hands and took a sip and shuffled back over to her guardian's side soundlessly mouthing the words "sorry" to him.

Fumnanya, tending the grill when Denee arrives, lifts the tongs he holds in a salute when she suggests that the singularly unique composition of his crew is one he is lucky to have gathered, and then gives her a nod in greeting that is accompanied by a reserved smile that, devoid as it is of his earlier playfully flirtatious manner, makes it evident that the message inherent in her parting telekinetic grip was received loud and clear.
The other members of the crew, save for Dee and Sango, are similarly reserved in their greetings. Dikeledi is her customarily aloof, cool, remote, and silently watchful and appraising self as she leans against the railing near to where Fumnanya has only just begun cooking the steaks. Nkosana, lounging in a chair and nursing a beer that enhances the effects of the mild sedative Sango deemed necessary after the news of what the immediate future holds in store for the crew of the Geheim Masjien, sulkily watches Denee with a mixture of undisguised accusation and suspicion. Vejide, apparently alone in being delighted that they will all soon be venturing forth on a challenging and perilous mission, appears entirely at ease and content even though she seems to be in little hurry to engage with Denee personally, content instead to observe and, like Dikeledi, assess what she can of the Jedi that will be accompanying them into the danger she has coerced them into heading into.
Sango, when the exuberant and, if he is not mistaken, somewhat smitten Dee allows a break in her warm welcome to Denee, adds his own contribution to it, "A pleasure to meet you, Denee, circumstances notwithstanding of course! I am, he chuckles, wagging a furry finger, Ah, but then you know who we are all, do you not? He waves the hand expansively, Well, in as much as files and impersonal accounts of our, ah, exploits can tell, no? Would you care for a drink? Do Jedi drink? Not to excess, I imagine. We have alcoholic as well as non-alcoholic beverages at any rate. Once he has, should Denee indicate she desires a beverage, seen that she is provided with it, Sango wastes little time in indulging in his tendency to ask whatever questions come to mind, his curiosity as insatiable as his manner is warm. Are you a member of the Jedi Order, or one of the many off- shoots it has given rise to? Were you raised from infancy as a Jedi, or were you recruited . . . is it recruited, or would invited be more appropriate, at a later point in your life? How far along in your training have you progressed? Do you find that . . ."
Laughing, deciding to give Denee an opportunity to field what may well prove to be only the first onslaught of questions Sango has locked and loaded before the Bothan can overwhelm her with too many to keep up with, Vejide says, "Geez, Sango, give her a chance to settle in before you start the inquisition. Waving towards the various appetizers that are laying out on the table, Vejide suggests, Grab something to nibble on, take a seat, he's only just warming up."

She was a little surprised at how forward the young woman was. Between her and Fumnanya, Denee realized she might have a challenge on her hands. Sango’s generosity and kindness was a relief to Denee and she nodded.
Its good to meet you as well. And yes, if you could shake together two parts bourbon, half part syrup, a squeeze of half a lemon and just toss the rest of it in the glass with some ice. Oh, and one-part dry red wine on the side and a spoon, Thanks Sango.
As he prepared the drink, she walked over to Fumnanya and unwrapped the paper wrapping from her package and handed the foil container to him.
No, Dee, this isn’t for you. Fumnanya, if you wouldn’t mind cooking this with the meat, please. Just be careful not to tear it, or the oils will drip and flare up somewhat spectacularly.
She took the glasses from Sango and set them down on a nearby table as he began his stream of consciousness. As he went on, she gently poured the wine over the back of the spoon into the iced mixture, creating a fine layer of red atop the milky mixture. Satisfied with her doings, she took a sip just as Vejide rescued her from further inquiries.
Indeed. Let me get at least one of these in me before go too far.
She took another sip and nodded, eyes closed as she let the beverage linger.
Exquisite.
She found an open seat and fell back into it, folding one leg atop the other as she leaned back
Muunilinst. My brother and I were born there, but we were orphaned when the First Order arrived and took the planet for themselves. We found our way to Corellia on a refugee shuttle and quickly found ourselves under the care of our current Master.
Master Wright is a wealthy man with many connections, and he and other Jedi Masters are currently on Serenno where they are looking to form a new type of Jedi Order.
Which should answer one of your other questions: no, I am not a Jedi proper as the fabled or famous masters of the Clone Wars. I am, however, classically trained in the Jedi Arts and ways
She leaned her head back and looked at Dee and Fumnanya.
That includes celibacy, unfortunately for some.
She looked back at Sango and took another sip.
I am considered an Adept, which would be the equivalent to a Jedi Knight as far as strengths and talents go. While I am not a thoroughbred Jedi, I look forward to our inclusion in the current Jedi inner circles in the galaxy once Serenno is liberated. You see, my Master was a bona fide Jedi and was good friends with one of the original members who had attempted to unify the multitude of Jedi orders some time ago. For a while, the new unification stood, but with the rise of the First Order, things became fractured once more. Recently, the Jedi have suffered some unfortunate losses recently after the Sith invasion of Felucia.
She looked at her glass for a moment before tipping it over and spilling a little on the deck. Taking a sip, she continued.
Maybe one day, a new, new unification will take hold. Until then, My Master, along with several others, will attempt to rebuild the strength of the Jedi so we can at the very least hold off the First Order.
She went to take another sip but found that the glass was empty. She set it down on the table next to her and put her hands behind her head and leaned back; inadvertently revealing the stream of diamond tattoos that ran down the underside of her arms.
I’m not a pilot. I’m not a leader, nor do I want to be. I just want to take back what the First Order has taken from so many. I think I am apart of a group that sees that as a real possibility.
