She watched the men with a raised eyebrow, rather amused at their scanning of her office. They wouldn't find any illegal bugging devices, but there were security protocols in place as there was in every office in the RDMC. When the men were finished, one of them brought out a small metal disc, that began to emit a humming noise, and sat it on her desk. A small short range comm system was also placed on the desk beside the metal disc. Within a few moments a familiar looking face appeared above the disc and comm and spoke. Ice recognized the Zabrak as a Mandalorian, The Admiral, she had met on Etti IV. She couldn't quite recall if he'd ever given his actual name, but that apparently wasn't important now since he'd requested they not use names. Chuckling softly, she leaned a hip against the desk and spoke.
"Your precautions are understandable. We have taken a few of our own here at the med center. We kind of have to since people seem to like the idea of attacking the planet once in a while."
She moved to the chair behind the desk and sat down then met The Admirals gaze before continuing. "So to what do I owe this pleasure? I assume you didn't go out of your way to contact me just to see how I'm doing since Etti IV...." Leaning back in the chair, she laced her fingers together and pressed a forefinger to her lips while she waited for The Admiral to state his business with her.......

A slight, serious nod met her statement.
-Z'har Indeed, this meeting is strictly business I'm afraid. Perhaps we can meet again under more amicable terms at some later date. My first question is one of confirmation. Would your husband happen to be one Adieumus Matango?

Her interest was piqued when he asked if Adieumus was her husband. Arching a delicate eyebrow, she gazed at his holoimage contemplatively before speaking.
"You know very well he is, ami. I told you he was, while we were on Etti. Though he's been gone, to Gahd knows where, for the better part of the last year...." Her voice held a slight cautious tone as she wondered where this was leading. What was going on, or had gone on, that people were starting to ask about Adieumus?

The floating head nods seriously.
-Z'har I was simply confirming it. You also happen to have answered my next question, & the point of the trip out here, as well. It would seem that he didn't only attack me in this latest bout of foolishness. Might you know anyone that would know his location? I freely admit that if I can find him, it will most likely not end pleasantly for him.

She listened intently to The Admirals words, though kept her emotions under control regarding his threat towards Adieumus. She knew, somewhere in the back of her mind, that it was only a matter of time until whatever shadowy Watchmen stuff Adieumus had been doing for the last year would eventually come back to bite him in the ass. She just hoped it didn't bite her in the ass too. Casually, she dropped her hands to the desk top and eyed The Admiral's image with interest.
"I have no idea where he is at the moment. He hasn't contacted me in a while. The last time I saw him was a few months ago at my knighting here on Honoghr, just right before the Mandalorian attack on Yavin IV - then he left again without saying where he was headed. I assume he went to Coruscant to meet with the council and update them on the attack."

The image nods once.
Thank you. I didn't expect such an obvious connection to have been left open, but it was worth trying. Hopefully our next visit will be less business oriented. I wish you good health.
After waiting for a return farewell, if one was coming, the image vanished. The two nondescript men gathered up the equipment & left the way they came.

Arching an eyebrow, she nodded her head once at The Admirals image. Her anger at Adieumus for putting her in this situation and The Admiral for informing her that it wouldn't end pleasantly for Adieumus if he found him first, was carefully kept in check. What was going on in her mind, thankfully, didn't show in her thoughtful expression.
"You're welcome.....and yes, perhaps our next meeting will be more casual. I wish you good health, also."
Ice watched as the two men gathered all of the equipment and left her office. Sitting back in her chair, she put her feet up on the nearest corner of the desk. Folding her hands, fingers laced together again, she brought them up to her face with her forefingers resting on her lips as she thought about what The Admiral had said. Well this was a fine mess that Adieumus had gotten himself into, wasn't it? Sighing, she unfolded her hands and absently rubbed her forehead with a sigh. It was at the moment that Betsy alerted her with a message stating that Master Morviael had sent someone to speak with her. Quickly sending a reply, Ice sat back to wait for her next appointment.......

Rebecca managed to find her way to Ice's office without too much trouble, thanks in part to the receptionists directions and also to the signs that pointed the way to Ice's office. She then gave a knock on the door when she arrived, before waiting for admission

In the few moments between The Admirals men leaving and her next appointment, Ice received a message from Jena who had made it, safe and sound, to Coruscant to attend a Jedi Council meeting. Upon reading that message, Ice smiled a little. Nearly all the Jedi Masters had been called to Coruscant after the attack on Yavin and her aunt was one of those called. She also knew Jena had left Coruscant after her husband, Travis, died almost five years ago and very briefly wondered how Jena was handling the memories of that. She knew her aunt was a strong, confident woman and she had no doubts that whatever past memories of Coruscant Jena had, she'd deal with them accordingly after the business with the Jedi Council was taken care of.
A knock on her office door caught her attention thus breaking Ice's line of thought about Jena. Sighing softly, she straightened up in her chair while she pushed a button on the panel beside her desk, allowing the person on the other side to enter the room. She silently hoped this meeting was better than her last one as the door opened to reveal a lone, rather striking, Chiss woman standing on the other side. Arching an eyebrow, Ice stood up with a warm smile while she greeted the other woman.
"Please, come in. Have a seat, or stand, whatever makes you comfortable. I'm Ice Matango, and you must be Zions friend."

Rebecca stepped back a little as the door opened automatically, revealing the room beyond and it's sole occupant, a rather beautiful woman, with green eyes. The woman was definitely different sight to be sure, though Rebecca was sure a Chiss was nothing entirely normal either. She then took a step into the office and gave a slight bow as the woman introduced herself as Ice Matango, before going over towards one of the seats in front of Ice's desk "Rebecca Elios of the Chiss House of Prar. It is nice to meet you Lady Matango, Zion has said many great things about you... and I can see why" Rebecca She smiled at Ice, hoping the other woman would not take offence to the comment. She had no teenage delusions about love, and knew Zion was something of a casanova, so it was no surprise he had been slightly taken by Ice

The Chiss Woman stepped into the office and bowed slightly before introducing her self as Rebecca Elios of the Chiss House Prar. Returning the bow, Ice was curious to know more about the Chiss Houses, since she wasn't that familiar with their culture, but that was for another time. While Rebecca sat down in one of the offered chairs, Ice moved over to the caf maker that sat on a counter top in the corner of the room.
"Please, call me Ice. Titles like 'Lady' are just so....odd sounding. Would you like something to drink? Caf? Soda? Whiskey?" She glanced over her shoulder with a slight grin then proceeded to fill her mug with caf again.

Rebecca remained seated as she turned her head, following Ice as the woman moved over towards the caf machine, something of a strange energy drink of sorts that Rebecca had never really liked the taste of. She smiled as Ice spoke of how she found titles to be odd sounding. Well she was a humble one, that was for sure. Rebecca politely declined, shaking her head a little, no matter how inviting a glass of whiskey sounded "I'm fine thank you. I've never really gotten into drinking caf, and whiskey would be a poor choice for trying to keep a level head. But the offer is much appreciated" Rebecca

Ice chuckled lightly at Rebecca's comment about the whiskey and nodded her head in agreement that it might be a poor choice at the moment. Turning, she walked over to her desk and sat down again, placing the mug off to the side. Meeting Rebecca's gaze, she leaned forward.
"So Zion has told you about me? I wonder how many embellishments he added. I'm really not that interesting." Giving a small laugh, she took a sip of caf before continuing thoughtfully.
"Zion is a decent guy. Its one of the reasons I asked him to run the academy. I know he'll do all he can to help instill some kind of values into the padawans. Anyway...." She gave a wave of her hand as if to brush that train of thought aside for the time being. "....what brings you to Honoghr? It's not often we have Chiss visitors here."

Rebecca met Ice's gaze as the woman sat down and inquired about what Zion had said about her, before questioning Rebecca about what would bring a Chiss out this far. Indeed it wasn't often any Chiss really left Chiss space for the wider galaxy, not unless it was for conquest or banishment. But Rebecca had another reason entirely, one that Zion seemed sure Ice could help her with "Yes, I wouldn't imagine you would get many Chiss out this far. In fact I only came out this far to catch up with Zion. It was during our little catch up when he mentioned that you might be able to lend me a hand. A lot has changed for my people in recent years: betrayals, wars, different political ideals. Eventually my House was left as the sole remaining power in the Chiss Ascendancy, and although my brother's before me tried desperately to maintain a cohesive government, whilst also doing their best to protect our people from dangers, both internal and external, ultimately it was a doomed prospect. Members of minor houses sought to see us fail, whilst people who sought to sell us out to more nefarious empires took their chance to create political turmoil. Now me and my house seek a new home, somewhere far from the incompetance of Chiss Politics and those willing to sell out their own people. It is for this reason that I have come to meet with you, Ice. Honoghr is situated well away from Chiss Space, and it is home of the one friend I have left. We will gladly help out in anyway we can, should you allow us to stay..." Rebecca

Ice listened to Rebecca with great interest while she sipped her caf. She had heard a vague account of one of the wars Rebecca spoke of when the Dark Tide, then led by Iniquitous, had attacked Csilla - but other than that, she really didn't know a whole lot about the planet, or it's people, so the Chiss womans words of betrayals, wars, and differing political ideas intrigued her. She had experienced wars, betrayal, and a bit of political maneuverings, herself, with the last couple of attacks on Honoghr.
Silently, she contemplated the pros and cons of allowing the Chiss refuge on Honoghr and noted that the pros far outweighed the cons. Having Rebecca, and those loyal to her, as allies would be a far better choice than having the woman as an enemy....plus she was an old friend of Zion's so Ice had a feeling she could trust the woman. Her decision had been made by the time Rebecca had finished speaking. Arching an eyebrow Ice folded her hands in front of her face and rested her forefingers against her lips while remaining silent for a moment or two after Rebecca had finished her explanation. With a slight smile she leaned forward placing her forearms on the desk and met the Chiss womans gaze.
"I can relate to being betrayed and being caught up in wars, but we both have one consolation....we're still here and most of our enemies have either went into hiding or otherwise disappeared from the face of the galaxy."
She stood up from the desk and walked over to the window. Folding her arms across her chest, she looked out over the grounds of the RDMC while thinking. Turning to face Rebecca again, she continued speaking.
"I like your honesty, Rebecca. If Zion trusts you then so will I....until you give me reason not to. You and your people are welcome to stay here for as long as you like. I also appreciate your offer to aid us, just be warned that it may entail helping to defend the planet. For some odd reason, people seem to like attacking us sometimes and for no apparent reason....though it's been probably a little over two years, give or take a month or two, since the last attack....I think that's some kind of record for us."
Ice dropped her hands and moved to her desk again to pick up a datapad. After finding the information she wanted, she handed it to Rebecca. It gave a map of Honoghr and details of the things that Rebecca and her people would be entitled to while on Honoghr as citizens and defenders of the planet.
"This is some of the detailed information you'll need and if you have any questions, just ask one of us. It also gives a short list of doctors at the medical center should any of your people, or yourself, need medical attention. Of course, any of your medical personnel are welcome to use the facilities at the medical center for any patients they may have also." Pausing momentarily, she looked thoughtful before continuing with a warm smile. "And Rebecca....welcome to Honoghr...."

Rebecca could see that Zion had not lied to her about Ice, the woman was indeed a strong leader, albeit a somewhat reluctant one, something she could well relate to. Rebecca smirked as Ice said it was some sort of record that no one had attacked Honoghr in atleast two years, before Ice handed her a datapad with a map of Honoghr along with the entitlements. Rebecca nodded as Ice briefly explained all the information that the datapad held, before officially welcoming her to Honoghr. Rebecca gave a curt nod to the other woman "It's a pleasure to be here..." Rebecca Rebecca then rose from her seat and placed the datapad in one of her coat pockets, knowing there was a lot of work to be done. She needed to get her people settled in and work out what sort of defences were currently in place and see what needed to be changed about it "Well Ice, if you don't mind, I best be taking my leave. There is much to do, and I wouldn't want to keep you from your patients" Rebecca Rebecca gave a swift bow to Ice Matango, before turning around and making her way out of the office to attend to the business of settling her new people and getting a measure of the fleet

Several+ months ago, right after Jena's return from the Kuat Battle
The Kuat battle had lasted a short time, considering the firepower that arrived in the planets orbit around the KDY. There had been many lives lost, including some valuable personnel from the RDMC when three of their rescue shuttles had been shot down resulting in the loss of 768 lives, civilian evacuees from the drive yards and medical personnel alike. Adding the losses from Yavin IV, Ossus, Kuat, two whole planets being completely obliterated, and various other planets unlucky enough to be locked in the sights of the Mandolorian onslaught, the combined death toll reached astronomical proportions. Jena wasn't even sure Palpatine had tallied up this many deaths in his years of brutal reign as Emperor before his demise at the Battle of Endor.
Now, as Jena walked down the hallways of the RDMC toward Ice's office, she was feeling very tired. She hadn't gotten very much sleep in the last few weeks since being away from Honoghr and she was definitely feeling it now. Rounding the corner, she continued on until she came to the door of her nieces office. She was dreading the news she had to deliver but it had to be done, and it was better that it came from her than from someone else. Taking a deep breath and letting it out, she raised her hand and knocked softly on the door. The door swished open to reveal Ice standing on the other side. Smiling tiredly, Jena greeted the younger woman as she stepped inside giving Ice a quick hug before stepping back and walking to the middle of the room. Turning to face her niece, she folded her arms across her chest and met Ice's gaze.
"Ice....we need to talk...."

Ice had just checked on Lukas who was napping in the small bedroom attached to her office and was now sitting at her desk watching the latest HNN on the large holoscreen in the main part of the spacious room. She looked up when she heard a soft knock at the door, sensing Jena on the other side before getting up and walking over to invite the other woman inside. After a quick hug, Ice took note that Jena looked tired and worn out after they both stepped back from each other. She watched Jena closely as the other woman walked to the middle of the room. When Jena turned and met her gaze, Ice knew by the look in her aunts eyes that something was wrong. Then Jena said those four little words and Ice arched an eyebrow before walking over to stand in front of her. She could see that Jena was thinking something over as their gazes met. Tilting her head slightly to the side, Ice studied her aunt for a moment before speaking.
"Of course, Jena." She replied rather cautiously, instinctively knowing that she wasn't going to like what her aunt was about to tell her. Had something happened on Coruscant that had affected Jena? Was Adieumus okay? Ice knew that her aunt had met up with Adieumus and that sometime in the last few months he'd been promoted to Jedi Master and had apparently been given a seat on the council as well because of the last message Jena had sent her before going to help with the medical rescue efforts on Kuat. She'd wondered why Adieumus, himself, hadn't contacted her but perhaps he'd been preoccupied with Council and/or Watchmen business or maybe he'd been under orders to not contact anyone. Ice couldn't afford to think any other way. She had to tell herself that there was a good reason why he hadn't at least tried to contact her in all these months, but as she looked at Jena she felt a sudden sense of foreboding. Placing her hand on Jena's shoulder, she had an almost pleading look in her eyes.
"Jena, what is it? Has something happened?"

Jena was mulling over in her mind how to tell Ice what she had to tell her. It had to be done, but there was no easy way to do it. Grasping the hand that Ice had placed on her shoulder, she gave it a warm squeeze before Ice drew away and folded her arms across her chest with an odd, almost pleading, look in her eyes and in her voice when she asked Jena what had happened. Taking a deep breath and releasing it, Jena decided that being straightforward was the only way to go in this situation. Rubbing a hand across her forehead, she sighed softly and began.
"As you know, I met up with Adi on Coruscant during the Jedi Council meeting. After the meeting was over, and Sinistra delivered her message requesting aid on Kuat, he had asked me to put him in a bacta tank to finish healing after his last mission. I let him use the bacta tank on my ship when we left Coruscant.
When we got to Kuat, and rendezvoused with the RDMC medical fleet, I released him out of the tank and gave him a check up. We had evacuees and wounded from the KDY coming in so he was released from medical care. We don't know if he left the ship and went to the KDY, or the surface of Kuat, or what happened exactly, but he hasn't been seen again. My ship and all of the medical ships have been searched from top to bottom to no avail."
Pausing for a moment, she ran a hand through her long dark hair in exhaustion and a little bit of frustration. She hated having to give people news like this, even more so since the one she was giving it to happened to be a dearly loved one, and related to her. Glancing toward the window, and gathering her thoughts, she steeled herself for what she was about to tell her niece next. Her blue eyes once again met Ice's green ones and she continued. "Ice....we don't know where Adieumus is. He's been listed as missing in action."
Jena held Ice's gaze while she visually, and mentally, gauged the younger woman's emotions and reaction to the news. She had seen her niece's meteoric rise out of the ashes, like the proverbial phoenix being reborn, but she also knew the inevitable fall could hurt a hell of a lot more. She knew Ice was strong enough to handle just about anything life threw at her, as had been proven in the past, but she also knew that losing someone could have devastating effects and she would be there to pick up the pieces and help Ice in any way she could....

Ice studied Jena, listening intently to her while she spoke. The news that Adieumus was MIA hit her like a punch to the stomach. He hadn't been found as of yet, but some nagging questions still remained: 'Where the hell was he? Was he alive, but captured and imprisoned somewhere? Or....had he just chose to disappear?' - The last thought lingered in her mind as she numbly sat down on the sofa behind her, breaking eye contact with Jena. She realized that it was a possibility that he had chosen to leave, but she'd like to think that wasn't the case. Her mind was racing with different possibilities and scenarios by the time Jena had stopped speaking. Silence filled the room as the moments stretched by. She could feel her aunts concerned gaze on her while she gathered her scattered thoughts, then with a deep sigh, she looked up at Jena.
"Where do we go from here? Are the Jedi or Watchmen looking for him? We should send someone to look for him. Maybe they can pick up his trail." She paused, feeling a wave of emotion ranging the gamut overcome her. Fighting to control what little hold she had on her frazzled nerves at the moment, she clenched her fists in frustration as she stood up and walked over to the window. Looking out over the grounds of the RDMC, she gazed out at the landscaping without really seeing it. She was hurting, she wouldn't deny it, or try to mask it, besides she knew Jena would see through the facade anyway. Her mind kept wandering back to the possibility that maybe he didn't want to be found, maybe that's why he'd never bothered to try to contact her since their last parting. But why would he even travel to Kuat with Jena when he knew her aunt would've messaged her about coming into contact with him to begin with? She kept dwelling on the fact that there were a hell of a lot of unanswered questions regarding his being MIA. Sighing heavily, she folded her arms across her chest as she turned to face Jena again. Everything she was feeling was showing in her eyes.
"I'm just....I don't know what to do, Jena. How am I going to tell E'yame that her fathers missing and may be dead? She already lost her mother a few years ago and now she may have lost Adieumus too. She's been so distant the last couple of years anyway, and I know some of it is because she misses Adieumus. He barely spends any time with her when he's here, and now I'm afraid this will push her away even more.
And Lukas....he's way too young to understand the concept of 'missing in action'. He's barely three years old. How do I explain this to him? He doesn't even really know his father as it is except through a couple of old holograms and some holopics. How do I explain to him that he may never know Adieumus now?"
Her voice was low with a note of the sadness she felt in it. She had lost people before and she was no stranger to the pain of it all, but it was a little different when you didn't know if someone was dead or alive. She was pretty sure she could handle it if he had chosen to walk away from all of them and was still alive. She wasn't so naive that she hadn't noticed that they had grown apart in the last couple of years. Hell, anyone with a set of eyes, and who knew them, knew that little fact. She'd just like to know if he disappeared by choice or if it was, indeed, because he'd been captured or killed. There was no closure if one was left wondering what happened, like she was wondering now.
Sitting down heavily on the sofa behind her, she buried her face in her hands, not sure whether to cry, scream, laugh, cuss, punch something, throw things, or just have a good old fashioned nervous breakdown. Honestly, all of those options sounded good right about now, and not necessarily in that order.......
