Myriana nearly lost her composure, forgetting completely that she had an identity to keep secret, but managed to recover quickly enough to not betray her emotion. Instead, she gave a light laugh and looked lazily at her captain.
"Please. When you go to school like I did, you learn things."
Her face grew slightly stern.
"And... the Dagobah system isn't dangerous, as far as I know. Just Dagobah itself. I hear that it's just endless swamps with murky mists and lots of crazy indigenous lifeforms. Probably not a safe place to land a shuttle. Still, I'd be willing to personally go rescue this man, if we're not willing to commit out ship to it."

For a moment Quintion was curious as to what kind of school taught those kinds of things. He had been to the acadamy on Corellia. It would have been hell if he had to memorise those kinds of galactic coordinates.
Well, if you have that kind of information memorized, then im kinda glad I didn't go to whatever school you did. The academy was enough.
He sighed as he looked back at the navicompter.
Well regardless we have about 10 more minuets until we get out of our current hyperspace jump and then it will be another half hour or so to reach this Degobah. We will see about thease endless swamps and indigenous lifeforms. Hopefully we might be able to pinpoint that beacon when we reach orbit, that is if its still transmitting.
Looking back at Myriana.
Thanks for the information, let the rest of the crew know about this if you could.

"Seems to me that using the ship's intercom would be easier, captain, but if you insist, the lady can do your work for you."
Myriana winked snarkily at Quinton and departed for the elevator.

Jace had to admit that Liya was right about leaving your friends behind for their own good despite what he had previously said. The situation wasn't always the same as theirs, seeing how not everybody was skilled at the more... violent business practices that the crew and their 'associates' got involved in. Some people just didn't have a reason to be involved, whether they were misguided by others intentions or just a civilian at the wrong place at the wrong time. Either way, not being there usually took the heat off of those you cared about. Provided they weren't in as deep as you were. Liya suggested that they get back to the business at hand, and Jace for once was slightly relieved that they weren't siphoning information from one another. While divulging glimpses of his past to Liya and alleviating tensions, he believed he was revealing too much too quickly. "Indeed... Onto the task at hand." Right after he said that, Jace's datapad silently vibrated in his inner jacket pocket. He'd ignore it until later, assuming that it was another report for the Emerald Blades HQ.Jace turned to Liya and returned the smirk when she mentioned funding the maintenance for the Red Cred. He had sent for a team of skilled engineers from the Emerald Blades HQ (EB) to rendezvous with him at Coruscant when they had first snagged the Red Cred from Ryloth. The entire vessel was overhauled, with new parts and upgraded ship systems installed to provide peak performance. And beside the massive engine tune-up they had also restocked the compartments with everything they would need. His team had been careful going about it as well. The supplies were bought on Coruscant under aliases and fake companies to cut the connection to the EB. Parts that seemed out of place for a supposedly abandoned ship were made to look well-worn and had their serial numbers removed to not only remove the trace back to the point of origin but also to make it look as though it were stolen or bought on the black market. While one of the compartments had been emptied for the crew's storage the other three had been filled with food, various tools for maintenance, and a small armory.Another vibration in his jacket indicated yet another message. That wouldn't have been the headquarters, as they would have included everything they needed to tell him in one clean, heavily encrypted packet. Taking advantage of the timing he fished around in his jacket and pulled out the datapad. "The Red Cred is undoubtedly a 'wee bit' more expensive." He grinned, following the procedure to open up the first secure file. "Fortunately, I had thought of that exact same thing when I agreed upon taking this ship as payment for transporting that tech and his Twi'lek friend. I called in a few favors and had her spruced up... the ship that is. Fully refueled, stocked up completely on food, and had the engine tuned up to current specs. And... I pulled an extra string with a guy that really owed me and had the armory shielded and re-armed." Jace had been acting as though he was reading from the datapad, but in reality he had been reading a very remarkable message that he had never expected to see again. While he kept his tone and facial features even enough to avoid suspicion, something flashed in his eyes.He started to read the next message from Dante, which helped him keep the faint smile on his face as he finished the message and slipped the datapad into his jacket. There would be time to respond to those later. "The only thing we have to worry about for awhile is refueling. And I believe I can lean on our employer a little to pay for that." { Bridge, Loronar Medium Transport The Red Cred } "Well... Nice job, then. Sounds good." I was a little surprised by how dismissive Jace was about our financial situation. Maybe he just didn't want me to worry about it, but it seemed like he went out of his way to reassure me. Either that, or he had past experience with wealth that had colored his attitude. "I did notice the armory already." There was a glint in my eyes, and I flashed a toothier smile than usual. I'd liked what I saw. A lot.And even here, I learned something more about him. I had to respect his strategy of storing up favors to be collected later; it was a tactic I had seen used to great success in the past. It seemed unlikely he would cash in a large percentage of his chips just to outfit our boat, so that implied that he still had a fairly lengthy list of contacts whom he could call in for a favor. I wondered just how active he still was in his mercenary circles. It didn't matter to me, but it did seem like he was better connected than I was. Not that that was any great challenge. It was hard for a dead girl to keep her network active. If everyone knew, then I wouldn't be dead anymore, would I? Subconsciously, I shoved my left hand into the pocket where Fel's cred chip was burning a hot hole in my skin. I had been planning to remind Jace of what I still held, and it's possibilities if we should need it, but that no longer seemed necessary. I had no intention to spend the good Captain's money without his approval, unless it was an absolute emergency, but in some oft-suppressed part of my conscience, I was uneasy about being the only one who knew what I had. Jace deserved to know, didn't he? He was part of the crew. But he really had no need to know, at least not yet. Withdrawing my hand, I decided to wait. "When we get to Bespin, I have some errands to run. I need to get some local intel from an old contact, both on Kim Zawadi, and on Fel, if possible. But it's been a long time, and I don't know what kind of welcome I'll receive. It would be smart for me to bring someone as backup, and I think Seros is the best choice --- I have a feeling we should keep him and Dante away from each other for a day or two." I winked. "Can't have them getting in a brawl and getting locked up."Jace nodded, affirming the plan, and I exited the bridge, after taking one final look at the navicomputer and confirming that all was well with our course. We still had a couple of hours to kill, and I wanted to have a word with each of our potential loose cannons. Taking the lift down a level to the crew cabins, I made my way aft, looking for Dante or Seros. As I walked, I wondered just what we were getting ourselves into once we arrived on Bespin. Why would the Syndicate want martial arts experts --- especially ones like my old mentor Kim Zawadi? I couldn't imagine Kim willingly going along with anything the Imperials had planned, and I couldn't imagine the level of brute force it would take to force her to do anything she didn't want to do. The thoughts of what they might do to her sent a cold shiver down my spine.#### { Five years ago, Aslaja, Bunduki } We were off duty for the rest of the day, and most of the men and women in my unit had gone out for a relaxing evening on the town, with lots of beer, music, and maybe a holodrama or two. But I had a tough problem in the lab to solve, and I'd made my way to the ponderous stone structure downtown that housed the largest single collection of holobooks on the entire planet. Taking a seat at a desk in a quiet alcove, illumined by the late afternoon sun streaming in through the lightly tinted windows, I tried to focus on the chemical properties of Phosphor. There had to be some explanation for the effects we had been observing in our experiments, and I was determined to be the one to find the answers. But my mind soon wandered. It was the first time in the three weeks I'd been back in the capital that I'd had some genuine peace and quiet, away from my fellow soldiers and civilian scientists. Taking a break from my research, I called up a list of books on the history of Bunduki, hoping to find out something about tourist attractions here in Aslaja, or interesting local customs. Or maybe local cuisine. Instead, I noticed a number of references to an organization named the Followers of Palawa.Curious, I began to read. Skipping over a lot of boring religious discussion of the Force and the Jedi, I soon came to a description of their martial art, Teras Kasi. Eager to see this ancient art in action, rather than just reading someone's words about it, I called up a documentary holovid that demonstrated some rudimentary basics of the art. Almost immediately, I knew I had found It. The missing piece in my training was unarmed combat. I could handle almost any weapon, especially a ranged weapon, and I knew how to use knives, explosives, primitive slingshots, or how to fight with whatever was handy. Ingenuity had kept me alive more than once during the war. But someday I knew there would come a situation where I couldn't find a weapon, and then I would need to become my own weapon. I let the vid run for well over half an hour, watching in awed silence."I don't see many soldiers visiting this library." A strange voice said suddenly, almost at my elbow. "And even fewer care about the ancient ways of the Followers of Palawa. So, why are you different?"My head jerked around in surprise, to see a short woman in a white robe standing inches behind me, staring at me and my uniform with a combination of skepticism and curiosity. Her sharp black eyes pierced everything, almost as if seeing into my soul. She seemed ageless. She might have been 30, or 50. Uncomfortably, I realized that I had no idea how long she had been there, even as I played back the last ten minutes in my mind. She had made no noise whatsoever.#### { Present day, Cargo Hold, Loronar Medium Transport The Red Cred } Dante's thoughts were far away, moving from Serenno to that of his wife. He had been idly wondering if he could possibly find a Jopto tree on some botanical preserve somewhere, and whether or not he still remembered any custard recipes, when the droid beeped out a long sequence of binary. Blinking in surprise, Dante paused and looked down at the machine. In truth, Dante did know how to interpret binary - that and a few other codes such as battle sign, blink code, and other seldom used forms of communication. It was part of his espionage training. Smiling slightly, Dante inclined his head at the droid in the affirmative.
"Yes, I do actually. And to your earlier woes of the blaster scoring...perhaps if you used a light grade acid from the medical suite, you could clean the crate better. A one to three mix ratio with your current cleaner would boost its efficiency...though I would refrain from applying it to anything less than a metallic substance." Inwardly, Dante questioned his sanity of carrying on a conversation with a droid. But, he reasoned that if the droid was considered a member of the crew, then there was no harm in at least familiarizing himself with the machine. Besides the fact, the droid seemed to have some kind of sanitation routine error...it was certainly obsessive about its cleaning duties.Though, in the future, that would save him some time in cleaning up future medical emergencies. Also...he was tired of fighting. The thought was laughable. But...it was true. Dante was genuinely...tired, very, very tired. He missed the quiet life, he missed...Silently, Dante smiled down at the droid, though his smile didn't reach his eyes. His thoughts far away on someone else. Entering the cargo hold, I blinked for a moment as my eyes adjusted to the lower light level. In the center of the deck, Dante stood, not quite facing me, running through some exercises that looked strangely familiar. Beyond him, farther aft, Scrappy was busily scrubbing the outside of Dante's crate, for reasons that utterly escaped me. Otherwise, we were alone, which is exactly how I wanted it. I suppressed a laugh at the futility of the droid's overzealous sanitation matrix, and took a few steps toward Dante. Painting on a feigned look of anger, I paused just out of his reach, arms folded."Don't ever call me a human again. It can be useful to be mistaken for one, but I have never wanted to actually be one." I wasn't truly mad at Dante, or at least, not this mad. But I wanted to poke the wampa one more time, and measure his reaction. And then I wanted to reassure him that I had his back. I knew firsthand the pain and anguish that the descendants of the survivors of Palawa still held. I couldn't imagine what Dante had been through.

He was silent, lost in thought, going through stances and disciplines. He was just finishing up the last of them in fact, when the human woman, Liya, from earlier walked up...
Finishing his exercises, Dante turned towards Liya, and raised an eyebrow slightly in surprise; though, it was more quizzical in nature than anything amounting to shock.
"Apologies Liya. Though if you evolved separately from the human race, what race are you?
He dismissed her anger - in fact, had she inquired, she would have realized that anger, disdain, and arrogance pretty much reigned supreme on his planet. Firrerreo stuck to their clans, and then their species, and not much else; a general callousness and lack of regard or manners to others outside of ones clan was pretty much expected. Inwardly, he examined her a little more closely. She certainly seemed to be a standard human woman...the notable exception being the corners of her eyes. Though, Dante didn't know what that meant. Despite his large medical knowledge, there WERE some obscure species that he hadn't dealt with. Epicanthix were among them. He supposed the eyes could be a racial trait...though, as he thought about it, there were plenty of near human species that had differing internal structure. For all he knew, she had three hearts.
"Also...are we nearing our destination? There are things to do...people to kill...other errands of importance."

Did he really not know? He had examined me closely when I had been injured in our escape from Coruscant --- far too closely not to have noticed my facial features. Along with my well above average height, and comments that various crew members had made in recent weeks, there had been clues. But perhaps he wasn't familiar with the biology of my species. The differences were almost imperceptible to an outsider. And if we were being fair, I had initially mistaken Dante for a human (once he removed his Omwati disguise). I grinned at his apology, dropping my false front of anger. "Epicanthix." I shrugged. "Pretty much everyone makes the same mistake. I like to think it's a good reminder about the dangers of making assumptions."
He'd taken it better than I expected, but that was encouraging. Hopefully that meant he was at ease, in contrast to his explosion earlier. "We should be on Cloud City in a little over an hour." I replied. "Let's just hope that new transponder Oz gave us doesn't raise any red flags with the Imps." I could sense his impatience, and I definitely shared in it. Worrying about Kim was ten times harder when I couldn't do anything to help. As soon as we landed, I'd be able to start taking action. And I knew this was going to be a tough job. It would take a lot of firepower for the Syndicate to neutralize someone like Kim. But so long as we could hold on to the element of surprise, we had a chance to turn the tables.
"As soon as we land, I'm going to start gathering intel on The Black Bantha, and plan our snatch and grab." Unfolding my arms, I ran a hand across my forehead. "Ideally, we pluck my friend away from the Syndicate, then in the chaos, we can grab one or two of theirs as well, and interrogate them." The real plan would be much more detailed, but I needed more data. I couldn't remember which floor housed The Black Bantha, only that it was a tapcafe inside a huge casino. "How do you feel about posing as a gambler when the time comes? The entire bottom floor is a casino."

"Epicanthix...I'll remember that."
He would. It payed to know the species traits of those you were working with. Besides the fact, he seemed to be the closest to the ships doctor...if she got shot, he didn't need her dying on him because he didn't know of some alien organ or whatever. No doubt he could access a medical database once they landed and familiarize himself. She didn't seem that different from a human though...didn't smell that different either. For a moment, he evaluated how he felt about her. Should he lump her in with humans? No...that would be like lumping in other near humans...to be sure, they looked similar - hell, even Firrerreo had humanoid characteristics - but they had all been pretty much equally persecuted during the reign of the empire. She was different from the rest of the crew.
Visibly, Dante seemed to relax substantially, a small quirk of the mouth revealing a...grimace? Smile? A half pained and half genuine expression, it looked unsuited to his face.
At the mention of the transponder, Dante outrighted frowned at the news. It wouldn't due to get caught before they even landed. Hell, who knew what the remnant would do to them. If the codes didn't work...and if Dante survived...he was going to shove a wrench down that weakly human's windpipe. Silently, he listened as she outlined her plan, and Dante nodded slowly. Listening, he began assembly his weapons back on his person, adjusting straps and double checking brackets to make sure his gear was in place. Putting the goggles back on his head, he shook his head slowly at her words.
"A casino...security will be tight. We'll need weapons, which will be incredibly hard to get inside. Unless we smuggle or bribe them in somehow. I'll play the part, in fact, I can get most of the casino's attention on me, I'd wager - nonviolently, I'll add. I can be subtle when the situation calls for it."

I couldn't help noticing that Dante's main reaction to my revelation was to relax significantly. Could he really feel that strongly about a distinction that was marked by rather subtle genetic differences? Some scientists weren't even sure we were a separate species. For example, reproduction with humans was possible, although not common. Or maybe his relief was a delayed reaction brought out by my news that we were nearing our destination. It was hard to tell for certain. But I hoped I had earned a little bit more of his trust by revealing our shared nature as non-humans. That had been one of my goals: if this whole thing went south on us, I didn't want his anger directed toward me. I wanted a chance to rein him in, or at least a chance to survive, and keep flying.
"There are always ways to get a weapon inside a casino." I replied, a devious grin written across my face. "In fact, I already know of three ways to do it. First, the Syndicate has obviously found a loophole, otherwise they would pick some other location. So we just have to find out how they're doing it. Second, we could build our own weapons once we're inside. Third, we could steal weapons from casino security." There was a look of amusement in my eyes. "I don't think getting inside will be hard. I'm more worried about the getaway, since we won't be leaving the planet immediately." My smile flattened out again. At least mentally, I was still stuck in on-duty mode.
"But there's no point in speculating about that until I have a look at the surroundings." I paused, wondering how exactly to say what I wanted to say about Seros --- namely, that I didn't expect Dante to take the rogue Jedi with him to visit the Altisians, and that I had plans to contain any remaining friction. I decided the best play was to casually slip it into a comment about our overall plans. "I assume Seros and I will take care of that while you and Jace and Daniel are visiting your 'Jedi' friends."

Dante listened, nodding his head every now and then at her words. She smiled mischeviously at her plans...and then got the smile under wraps mere moments later. She was taking her role as de facto leader seriously it seemed...perhaps too seriously. She didn't strike him as someone unable to lead...which meant it felt uncomfortable to her...that much had been obvious from some of her behavior on the bridge anyway. Storing that away, he nodded at her plans for weapons, smiling slightly himself.
"Stealing weapons from guards would probably be relatively trivial...building weapons as well...using the same loophole as the syndicate could tip someone off though...perhaps we should err on the side of caution. I leave that decision up to the rest of you though. Recon would be MOST appreciated...counter intelligence was my forte after all...if our getaway needs to be masked, I can lend a hand. If the need arises."
He was silent at the mention of the human Jedi, and casually readjusted a strap on a holster.
"I'm sure the Jedi will do fine. With you."
Downright subtle for a firrerreo, and practically head bashing for anyone else; Dante returned Liya's casual insinuation with a rather blunt answer of his own. Finishing with the strap at his side, Dante cleared his throat and crossed his arms, looking distinctly...uncomfortable.
"...Look...you're doing a good job. As leader I mean. But stop...tensing up. We walk on the same road...but that road sometimes takes detours for some of us. I've been alive a hundred and three years...you're a child to me, and while I must seem ancient to you, I'm barely in my prime yet. But there's one thing I know even in my youth...very, very well. People die, mistakes happen. And rarely, very, very rarely, is that the fault of their leader. Rather...that's just life. Life sucks. And then you die."
Turning, Dante walked over to the cargo bay door, and leaned against a support beam next to the door control.
"...Lets land already. It's time to kill."

In the great void of nothingness the attack fleet of the Warlord of the Eye drops from Hyperspace near Pzob. The Beast from Byss sit in his command chair reviewing a list of old members of the Eye, One stands out, Valstrol Horica, The hulking giant stands and moves from the command bridge of his Tector-Class Star Destroyer to his private chambers.
His private quarters were dark, he moved to an insignia carved on the floor, he sat and let his being dive into the darkside, deeper and deeper into the darkside he sank, spreading his consciousness out far and wide searching for Valstrol, The hours passed into days until the Beast found him, Bacca twanged the back of Vals thoughts with one word, Revenge.

The Darklord slipped out of his trance and brought his mind back to the here and now, His large bulbous Eye opened, His fang filled maw crooked a grin, He stood to his clawed feet and glided to the door to exit.
With no hurry at all the giant from Byss walked back to the command bridge of his Tector-Class Star Destroyer, With his clawed hands folded behind him, He entered the room and spoke.
Normal growling tones. "Pzob Admiral Keiths".
Bacca signaled for a Stein of Pzobian Coffee and a Smokible. He sat in his command chair
With the command given, the word is sent along over encrypted comm's to the two Victory II-Class Star Destroyers. A Short few clicks of the chronometer later the attack group moves off at full sub-light speed. Innon'Ruuk drank his coffee and smoked his smoke.

Turning, Dante walked over to the cargo bay door, and leaned against a support beam next to the door control. "...Lets land already. It's time to kill." I opened my mouth to reply, and then shut it again, and thought carefully. There really wasn't much else to say about our plans right now, and so there was no reason for me to waste my breath, or Dante's time. He had confirmed my analysis of the Seros situation, and I was glad that our plans allowed a little bit of separation between them. I just hoped they would both cool off once we were on the ground and had a job to do. We couldn't afford any failures in teamwork if we were to succeed. If worst came to worst, I could always lock one of them in a cargo bin. Hopefully it wouldn't come to that. And then there was his perceptions of my own situation, which were surprisingly accurate. Had I really been that obvious, or was he just that good? It was hard to tell. It was definitely a role that made me uncomfortable for a lot of different reasons. There were the ghosts and shadows of all the comrades I had lost in the war on Bunduki, and there were the betrayals within the Bounty Hunters' League which had shattered my trust, and there were the two years I had spent operating on my own. I had enjoyed that freedom, and I was afraid to lose it.I hated feeling responsible for anything that I couldn't control. And I couldn't control other peoples' lives. They made unexpected decisions, and accidents befell them, and sometimes they even got sick and died. In the past, I had held everyone and everything at an icy arm's distance, and I had shut out my emotions, and survived that way, like a machine. Fel and his crew had forced me to change, and I had come to appreciate and even like those changes --- that is, until a leadership void sucked me up. Again. Just like such voids always did. Each time, I was more reluctant than the last time, and yet I always got stuck with the job. Life had a definite sense of humor that way."Thanks." I said after a moment, and I was thankful. Not because I entirely agreed with him, but because I appreciated the concern. "Don't worry about me. I'll hold it together. I just hate waiting, the same way you do. I'll be fine as soon as we land." I was still trying to sell myself on the lie I had just spoken, but I kept that to myself. I flashed a smile for a moment, then nodded slowly to myself as I turned away. "We should be almost there." I tapped the chronometer on my wrist console, even though I didn't need to look at it to know: I had about twenty minutes before I needed to be back on the bridge.Slowly, I turned and made my way forward, leaving the cargo hold and re-entering the crew cabins, looking around for Seros or Daniel. I wanted to get a better read on each of them, privately, before we landed. Pausing outside the door to Seros' bunk, I listened for a moment, but could hear nothing. Quietly, I tapped the controls, but a tiny red light and a harsh buzzing sound informed me that the door was locked. Shrugging my shoulders, I continued down the hall in search of our artifact expert. It had occurred to me that I might be the closest person to an academic mind that Daniel could hope to find in the Outer Rim (which was a scary thought, since my studies were all about application and destruction, not history or anthropology). He was totally out of his element, and it showed. Maybe I could help bridge the gap. Or maybe I'd make a fool of myself. Who knows. But I needed him to stay alive, so I had to try.

The quiet, almost reclusive doctor was harder to locate, but I soon found Daniel in a quiet corner of the ship, engrossed in his studies. Books, papers, maps, pens, a datapad, and four or five empty caf cups were scattered in the vicinity. I knocked on a bulkhead and coughed politely, but his attention was elsewhere, and if he heard me at all, he was too deep into his research to give an immediate response. Shrugging my shoulders, I left him at his makeshift desk and slipped away quietly. Our conversation could wait. Moments later, back on the bridge of the Red Cred, I made another careful check the navicomputer's route map and status before settling into the pilot's seat once more. I stared thoughtfully at the controls of the Loronar. There was nothing productive for me to do until the hyperdrive disengaged in a few moments. I tried to remember the last time I had piloted a craft this large --- it had to have been well over a year, and it wasn't something I had done on any regular basis at all since leaving Panatha and her military behind. Until now, I had been limited to the Bronze Star and other freighters of her class. But you never really forgot how to operate those bigger ships, either. Or at least, I never did. I was pretty comfortable with the Red Cred after my experiences in recent weeks. The last unknown was how she would handle in atmo on Bespin.Outside, the blue swirls of hyperspace continued to speed past, providing a dim grey-brown light by which to see inside the cockpit, but my mind was wandering farther into the past and farther away from the craft on which we rode. In a way it was ironic that the crew's travels had brought me back to Bespin once again. Once upon a time, the gas giant had been the outer edge of my world, the farthest I normally traveled from the Pacanth Reach. Now, it was the closest I dared to get to my homeworld, and I had only consented to come because I needed information I could not get anywhere else. Bespin was the farthest outpost of the Bounty Hunters' League of the Pacanth Reach.The League's bounty broker on Bespin had been one of my father's closest friends, and he had been rather fond of me, back when I was a teenager learning my way around the business. I hadn't seen Crusher since before Father's death, but I knew where to find him, and I knew he would help me, no matter how messy my current standing with the League was. He was honor-bound, just as I was, not to prevent the collection of Fel's bounty. But nothing said we couldn't interfere once he was transferred out of the hunter's custody, and the chances were that the transaction had been made (and recorded) by now. The only risk was if Crusher had been forcibly removed from his post. It seemed implausible --- I had once seen him kill an armed man with his bare hands in under five seconds --- but there was no way to know for sure. I would have to go knock, and see who answered. My gaze stared out through the transparisteel into the distance, focusing on nothing at all. I remembered the first time I visited Bespin, and sitting in Crusher's kitchen, taking in all the sights, sounds, and smells. There was the starchy smell of pasta boiling, mixed with the sweet and spicy aromas of nine different sauces in five different colors simmering on the great stove that filled one entire wall of the kitchen. One of the three cooks hovered near the vats of bubbling liquids at all times, while the other two moved away to dice tomatoes, or shred cheese, or scoop enormous portions into shining white bowls, or shove trays of bread into the oven. All three rotated perfectly among the prep stations like clockwork, following some unseen schedule, and after a few minutes, that schedule brought a piping hot bowl and a spotless silver spoon into my hands. The food had been terrific, but the biggest lesson that day was the value of paying attention to the smallest details, all the way down to an herb leaf, or a finger smudge. But you couldn't be so focused on the small things that you let the larger ones trip you up, either. That had been a harder lesson for me to learn, and one with which I still struggled, although I rarely admitted it. Instead, I tried to have both at the same time. One of the end results was my reluctance to lead a team. My natural instinct was to micromanage every member of the team, and to try to control every variable, but my past experiences had proven that this was impossible. I didn't have the capacity for that level of control, and so people around me wound up dead. Repeatedly. It was enough to make one grow a shell, and try to hide inside it. But my shell had failed. Fel and his crew had pried me out of it, and now I had to adapt. And that started with landing this ship in one piece, without running into anyone or anything, or getting shot down. Coming full circle in my thoughts, back to the task that literally lay in front of me, I leaned forward expectantly, and three seconds later, the navicomputer alarm sounded, and the mottled blues and browns of hyperspace suddenly resolved themselves into distinct starlines, then individual points of light hanging in space. And, rushing towards us like a hydrocardon in a tunneling magnascope, was the Bespin system, with the orange ball of gas known as Bespin looming largest and closest. I immediately pulled back hard on the controls, sharply braking our speed as we closed the last thousand miles to the planet.{ Continued on Bespin ... }

As Gavin's ship entered hyperspace, Ty stood with her arms crossed, glaring playfully at Gavin. She seemed slightly offended at his earlier comment and pouted
you know, Papa might not be happy that you think I'm not a very good fighter! Especially since I could probably kick your backside!
This was clearly a challenge, although Ty looked rather like a child in this moment with a pout to her lips, she was still a fierce little creature

*Gavin raised an eyebrow as he he looked at her out of the corner of his eye.* "You think so?" *He dropped his head as a small smile came to his face. Such a challenge. It had been quite a while since he got to let loose in situation. He had been at the battle over Kuat, though he never encountered any enemies in his location. Setting the autopilot, he stood to his feet before quickly turning and making his way out of the cockpit.* "This way, then."
*He lead her down the halls until they came to one of the cargo areas. It was the biggest spot on the ship and would give them plenty of room to move. He walked into the room a bit, rolling his shoulders, cracking his neck and fingers. Stopping in the center, he didn't turn to her but spoke, his voice growing quieter and colder.*
"Show me what you got, princess."

Tyra followed him into the storage area and looked around with a grin, she stopped just inside the door and watched him stand in the middle of room with his back to her. She rolled her shoulders, slipped out of her ballet type slippers, walking towards him slowly. When she was about three feet away from him, and he said "princess", she froze and stared at the back of his head with wide eyes.
Did you just call me... "princess"?
Her eyes narrowed as something like anger boiled inside her and she sprang, quite feline-like, and aimed to tackle him from behind.

*He took a deep breath after words, centering himself and taking in his limited surroundings. He gave a smirk as she questioned his statement and felt her lunge. His right leg slide out to his side, fully stretched and allowed him to slip close to the ground where he leaned forward, hands bracing his form. In her lunge, he planned to let her pass right over.*
"Why I do believe I did. Would you prefer cupcake?" *His smirked widened, aiming to edge her on.*

Her hands made contact with his back and used that momentum to do some form of a leap frog over him. She skidded to a halt about a foot away from him and twirled around, her legs bending for her to spring again.
Not that either!
She growled and reached for him, her right hand making contact with his shoulder
