The Brigadier directed the shuttles to put down outside of the main city. Juvex and Juvex city was unknown quantity and although the reasons for Mardotte's journey to this Emperor-forsaken planet seemed to merit the attention he directed at it, he was not about to land in another alien planet where he did not have a smooth exit. The Captain's plans were multi-faceted and as best as he tried, he could only see one part of it at any time. Hopefully, it would not be like last time. And hopefully, he wouldn't need to shoot up another city trying to capture an errant Sith Lord.
He stood on the landing ramp as the armoured vehicles were deployed for the trip into town.

Slowly, taking his time Tysabaar exited the craft. He stopped for a moment as he took in the surroundings. There was nothing much to see as the sith cast his eyes over the landscape.
"Seen them once, seen them all."
Carrying on forward, Tysabaar joined the marines. Walking past the men, the sith inspected the troops with deliberate slowness. He was in no hurry to move out and so scrutinized every aspect of the marines appearances. As usual though, no flaw could be found in Mardotte's men.

While their display of landfall and bridgehead making was nice and perfect, the move was well known for Juvex military command, placed at the heart of Juvex City, under the Juvex Import Export HQ. They knew it well, because they had been thought the same at officers school. They all came from Empires. the CDDC and later the Phoenix Imperium. The planetary defence forces (an actual thing, deleted thanks to Whill misshaps, not rewritten because of lazyness) acted upon it.
Since the ship the landfall came from sent wishes for business meeting, the Commander of said force (actually a slave known as Gaia) decided not to show up in force to make sure this pittifull landfall soon becomes a land-flight. The All-Terrian Artillery Platforms quickly made their way to a valley between hills where they could stay hidden and also be able to answer calls for indirect artillery fire. The reserves of ten TX tanks and three A5 Juggernought warmachines stayed in said valley also, with a fourth making its way from the city to the landing area.
The Imperials with one sith would soon see a large armoured and armed A5 heading their way, topping the closest hill and finally stopping at the 300m mark. It had a white flag over it, with a black line crossing it from one corner to the opposite, one of the ways to show you wished to Parlay.
A man and a twilek departed said vehicle, and started to slowly walk towards the camp. The twilek was the only one who was armed.
An intresting fact for the Sith Lord: The twilek was faintly force sensitive. A weak such, but sensitive she was. Also, the planet gave him a bad feel, as if the Dark Side was present in some strong way. Somewhere on this planet something dark and sinister was in the doing.

Brigadier Levebrve panned his macrobinoculars accross the landscape and nervously swallowed. Captain Mardotte's aggressive landing had the locals all riled up. He could see the artillery platforms crawling into position, with armoured reserves. He had two squads of marines and a light personnel carriers. The briefing said that the slavers of the planet had ex-Imperial ties, but the reason to why they were currently ex-Imperial was curiously lacking.
Just as he was about to call orbit for further orders, he spotted an A5 rolling over the hills.
"Ah, the welcoming committee arrives."
The Stormtroopers assumed the ceremonial guard formation: two lines, two deep, rifles presented. The line led to the shuttle where the Brigadier and the Sith Lord were waiting.

It did. While there were several batemans talking to business associates, this Bateman was also armed with a suitcase. He had just finnished his talks with the bloodrage pirates when he was informed about the imperial landfall. Why would they come this way? Why not just drop down with some guards and a negotiator? Why come with a fully fladged battleship?
Well, if they have hostile intentions, they will find Juvex a hard nut to crack, even without the Glass Eye fleet. He did however order a message sent to the fleet so they know what is going on.
So, the two of them, Bateman and Gaia walked the 300 meters from the A5 and finally got to the neat rows of stormtroopers. Calmly walking past them without giving them a glance, Gaia leaned in to bateman to whisper.
-Gaia- "That one is force sensitive. Likely a sith."
Bateman nodded and continued up to the people that seemed to be in charge.
-Bateman- "Greetings and welcome to Juvex, whoever you are. Now, if you do not wish to be handled like rabid dogs, I suggest you remove these nice white clad individuals and follow me into the city for dinner. Otherwise, I must regretfully inform you of your rather hasty future departure."

Brigadier Levebrve's remark caught the sith's attention and so, he slowly turned and saw the two individuals approaching. They looked quite ordinary, only the slight indication that one of them was force sensitive (to a certain degree) made him slightly more interested in the dealings that were about to take place between them.
In actual fact, the sith had already earlier felt a strong dark influence in the force upon the planet. This force did not however, originate from the personage that was slowly approaching. No, it was far more powerful than that, it was more noticeable than most or even any force signature that a sith or Jedi could emit. Whatever it was, it intrigued Tysabaar and he felt a strange feeling of being drawn to its dark power. Yet he felt unsure of its nature and that made him feel slightly uneasy. Uneasiness is still not a disadvantage. It is a sign of new boundaries, those that are still meant to be reached and overcome.
As the two approached, it started to become clear that the one was a twilek and the other a man, the twilek being armed. Now it was also distinctly apparent that she was the force sensitive one.
The sith bowed slightly, as the two individuals reached him. It was not an exaggerated bow, instead it was one that only qualified with the most necessary criteria that would be expected form a polite greeting.
Hearing the very clear but impersonal greeting Tysabaar smiled to himself.
"I am Tysabaar, representing Captain Mardotte St Cyr. Thank you for meeting us. Your request for the marines to stay behind shall not be a problem. I would however like them to remain here. As it is not that close to the city I'm sure it shall be of no inconvenience to you."
"Brigadier, stay behind with the men and inform the Captain that I have made contact."

Batemans protocols were clear. Anyone wishing to do business were welcome. Anyone acting in or with force on the soil of Juvex or in its orbit were to be dealt with accordingly. While this landfall was too tiny to actually do harm, it was out of the ordinary. Bateman did not like out of the ordinary. The bow of the sith made it a bit easier. It indicated a somewhat equal footing, witch meant they actually wanted to discuss, as the sith later proclaimed.
-Bateman- "I do not do business with strangers. I also do not like to be thretened, or pressured by show of arms."
He glaced at the stormtroopers, then back at the Sith lord who spoke.
-Bateman- "I am Patrick Bateman, President of Juvex Import Exports. We do most of the business talks for Juvex goverment. Now, who are you and what do you want?"
At closer glance, Bateman was an ordinary old man in a suit holding a suitcase. The only things that would be off about him were his long fingers and the faint presence in the force. Not because he was sensitive to Space-Magic, but because his was weaker then those of ordinary people. The Twilek on the other hand, as she came in closer, one could take a better look at her. Her skin was red, and she was half decently clothed into black. It showed her forms well, but hid the skin to not be too revealing. Also, what might have looked like a scarf from long ways, now showed to be a slaves collar.
-Bateman- "And this one is ThirtySix."
A lie, Thirty Six was on Ryloth. Gaia didnt want the men to know she was a named one. Let them speculate what the heck 36 means.

Tysabaar waited patiently while he let the man finish speaking.
"Sir, I can assure you that we have absolutely no intention of landing on Juvex with military force. What you see behind me is only standard procedure for Captain Mardotte St Cyr. In any cause, let our arrival not be the main point in our discussion. I have come to you, to do business. I am sure that it would be in your interest to hear my proposal."
The sith looked straight at the man while he talked. He did not pay any attention to the twilek as he assumed that she was unimportant. She had not talked once after the man had welcomed Tysabaar and so he thought that she must be part of security if nothing else.

-Bateman- "Tell the good captain that next time, a shuttle and two thugs will be enough. If you would be nice as to follow me, I am sure we can discuss whatever you want on a... pick-nick. Thirty Six, if you would..."
The twilek nodded and ran off towards the A5 wheeled death dealer. Bateman himself slowly started walking towards it, motioning Tysbaar to follow.
-Bateman- "You understand, my philosophy concerning business is that guns should never be involved. If you happen to land with a bunch of white clad trigger fingers, you force me to arrive in a warmatchine myself, to not look weak. Who knows, next time, you might just land an army just to try and gain upper hand in negotiations, in witch turn, I might have to make a point and order a slaughter, and then, we will both be poorer then we started. That is bad business politics. We deal harshly with the most minimal show of force. This is a planet of commerce. I hope you understand. Now, if you would, what proposition do you have?"

The sith slowly followed Bateman towards the A5.
"I shall inform the Captain of your wishes next time we land. Now, to business. You probably realize all to well that raw materials mean nothing to a military force. They need ready made products. Things that will help in their exploits."
Tysabaar paused a bit, just making sure in his mind that he was not jumping the gun so to say. He didn't want to bring across the wrong impression to the president of imports and exports. The sith and the captain where by no means in desperate for what they wanted, but it would greatly help them in their future exploits and plans.
"We have two places in mind, which are in our possession, that are currently of no great use to us but have of course are of high economic value. I believe your government might be interested on owning the rights to these. In exchange we would like certain supplies and 'materials' that are needed in our land annexation and other such activities that will help us to fulfill our ultimate goals. We of course would also need a supply of personnel as often there are causalities."
"That, Mr Bateman, is a basic version of our proposition."

Bateman walked silently for a couple of paces, thinking. While bateman didnt think as normal people, his capacity to analyse information was far better then most sentient spicies. This was one fact he liked to hide. In actuality, his thinking process was done in 0.003 seconds. Rest was theatrics.
-Bateman- "An intresting proposition. Of course, I would like to know more about these two companies and what they do before I accept anything. If I were to accept this without reviewing the companies capabilities, I might be unable to deliver your... demands. And I guess, from your attire that you... deal with failure fatally. Also, what would stop you from ... annexing... Juvex once I have secured your future military endeavours by organising these companies into shape? What if I suceed, and so do you, and you start a war and I am linked to this war as your accomplice? What if you loose? My home planet will become a front in a war we have nothing to do?
Most importantly, what do I get out of it? What does Juvex get out of it?"
He had a price, and all these points he took up made it more and more expensive, step by step. And he have not even seen or heard the company names.

Tysabaar listened to Bateman's queries. He carried on walking for a while then stopped. He wanted Bateman to fully consider what he said next.
"You raise valid points Mr Bateman. First of all, the two companies. The first is the Sorosuub Corporation on Sullust. The other are the Alzoc 3 mines. You can base your evaluations on that I'm sure. Now for your other concerns. Firstly, I am sure our relationship with you and Juvex is far more valuable than the actual planet would be to us. Why try to run a business when others can run one for you and much better than you, if you know what I mean MR Bateman."
"Then there is the point that you are not comfortable with us being supplied by you in our efforts. Currently I think it would be mutually beneficial if you are behind our guns than in front of them, don't you? As you said Mr Bateman it's bad business having unnecessary causalities. Further on that point, loyalty will always be rewarded. I assure you that we shall not lose. Our plans are quite definite and their outcome has been calculated to be quite definite too. What do you get out of it, you ask? Influence of course! Isn't that what everyone wants? As our exploits expand, in due time your influence will to."
The sith looked past the president and onwards to the nearby A5. It showed a definite menace. The proof that business was not the only thing a plant like Juvex dealt with.

-Bateman- "So what you actually is saying, is an alliance? Based on your notion of not loosing agianst... what? The Republic? The Dark Tide? The mandalorians? Hutts? Pirates? Slavers? The Tiemsters Union?
Mr... or shall I say Lord Tysabaar, your notion weighs heavily, and you understand I cant make a snap decision. I also understand you do not wish to confine your plans in me, allthough you have already stated your wide intentions towards the galaxy making me a liability in your endeavours, should I decline."
he continued walking. They could see the twilek slave exiting the A5 with a metal box and a table cloth. A table was already set up with two chairs, so she put up the cloth and then started unpacking the box. Glasses, untencils, plates. An assortment of microwaved pre-made foodstuffs. Steak with vegetables and general sous. A bottle of wine. Bateman looked at the slave woman, and she looked up at him from her work. She nodded, then continued. In truth, she could hear everything Bateman said and heard through her earpiece. If you didnt know this fact, it looked more like she signalled that the pick-nick was ready.
-Bateman- "Never the less, your notion interests me. Dinner is ready, let us dine and continue."
He got up to the table and sat down, motioning for Tysabaar to do the same opposing him. THe Slave was standing by in attention, waiting for orders. Nobody else was seen outside the A5. Also, might to add that Bateman didnt ignore the slight threat Tysabaar put up about being in front of their guns. Let him feel like he has the upper hand. Bateman hoped the fleet wouldnt show up while these people were here.
-Bateman- "If I do accept this offer, I will accept it, not Juvex. Juvex itself will be left out, as if it never existed. It would be a holy planet, as far as you are concerned. Is this understood?"

Sitting down, Tysabaar removed his mask revealing the long scar that ran down his face, yet still leaving his hood on.
"We shall not lose to anyone. One makes enemies. We are not the only ones with objectives in the galaxy, and sometimes our objectives could clash with those of others. We cannot let these other parties get in our way."
He looked at the food that had been prepared. It showed forethought on Bateman's part. Having a dinner ready over which one could carry on negotiations was always good. It insured a relaxed environment in which to continue talks.
"I understand that you do not want Juvex involved. In this way we can also keep association to the planet at a minimum, something I think you would prefer. I have just one problem with this requirement, which hopefully you could shed more light on. As you would be the one accepting this agreement and not Juvex , what would happen if something where to happen to you? How can we be sure that your part of the agreement would continue to be carried out?"
This was one point that the sith was not fully comfortable with. Anything could happen with Bateman. He could be removed from his post and they would never hear of him again. How could the Captain and Tysbaar be certain that their military products and personal would carry on being traded to them? They had to have some sort of surety.

-Bateman- "Are you implying I am too old?"
Bateman smiled a sarcastic smile. He waved towards the twilek slave.
-Bateman- "I have Her protecting me, if you are scared I would end up with a blasterbolt through my kidneys. I could ask the question myself, since you are the one who will be shot at, if I understand your words right. What abut this captain you spoke off, who likes make protocol landfalls on unknown worlds, riling up the locals? What if you die and he gets in command? And dont give me the "I-Will-Not-Die-I-am-Sith" routine, I have heard it before. A reasonable man is able to forsee defeat. A wise man plans for it."
He started cutting up his steak into cubes.

"Mr Bateman, don't forget our offer is a fixed object. The two companies cannot just leave your control if I or Captain Mardotte die. Whereas if you die, our supplies that are owed to us might not arrive . It is easy for someone to say that you never made this agreement with us, thus since there is no one else to support our claims we will lose out. On the other hand, there is no one to say that the two companies in our agreement are not your property if me and the Captain die."
Tysabaar cut off a piece of his steak, brought the fork up to his mouth and chewed. He had noticed Bateman's attempt to underplay his query, yet he was not going to let Bateman get the better of him. Yes he may be the more educated in negotiations and shrewd in making business agreements, but he was not going to fool a sith that easily.

-Bateman- "The deal becomes clearer. What you want is a system, and a system can always be replicated. An Idea can not. What you want is YOUR idea, spread with my system of supplies. I can provide this system, and I want to profit from it, while I live.
I will owe you your supplies for your liftime, in return, the companies and its profit will belong to my person for my lifetime."
The old man made the most serious face Tsyabaar has ever seen on him. He was writing words into stone with his lips.
-Bateman- "This is my deal. Thus all our fears will be answered."

Tysabaar listened closely to Bateman's words. They were clear, meaningful and definite. The sith approved.
"Mr Bateman, I am happy we could meet an agreement. The Captain will be most satisfied."
Tysabaar finished the rest of his meal, leaving the wine which he had politely refused. He placed his mask over his face and stood up. He bowed his head once more.
"It has been my pleasure, Mr Bateman, doing business with you,"He looked at the twilek and then at the pick nick. Once more he faced Bateman. "and thank you for the most pleasant meal."

-Bateman- "I will be delighted to see a draft of the contract in the next couple of days."
He stood up himself and bowed his head back in the same manner Tysabaar did, but a bit lower. Being humble cost nothing. The banshee knew it, the twilek went down to her knees without a word.
-Bateman- "I rather show up at the next board meeting with a contract signed, then with my hands in my pockets."
