While this planning is in OOC and viewable by all I will trust our opposite number to not use this information in an IC context.
Does anyone have a problem with me planning and coordinating the opening stages of the space battle? If not, post what you have available.

That's what we'll be packing. If there's any confusion, PM me, and I'll clarify. As for how this battle should start…I'm not sure. I think even the Mandalorians would want to be able to take control of the Kuat shipyards, rather than simply destroy them, so that ought to be a goal: Secure the shipyards. Though of course, not at the expense of the fleet as a whole. Securing the yards should be more a post-battle tasking, making planet-fall should be the primary goal. Which means getting through their defense forces and installations. Obviously we have a few different types of combat going on here: Fleet battles Starfighter engagements Small scale dismount (foot soldiers) operations Large scale dismount (foot soldiers) combat operations Large scale mounted (armored vehicles, i.e. tanks) combat operations Large scale aircraft support operations (includes both air-to-air and air-to-land/surface-to-air engagements) I will be writing involvement in practically every one of these areas. Aircraft engagements all around are my lowest priority considering GALSAF doesn't pack much of a starfighter force. We use it for bombing runs, hit-and-fades, distractions for boarding operations, etc. That's pretty much it. Our fleet will act mostly in support of other Mandalorian units in orbit. If you're craft is getting chewed up, we swoop in, bloody your chin so the Mando vessel can get away/retaliate, then we back off again. Our ground forces will be striking for the surface hard and fast, working to insert themselves into the best possible tactical position in order to eliminate enemy forces and secure fortified enemy positions for the Mandalorian side. Our armored forces will act in support of our ground forces. Our airborne support forces will act in support of our ground forces. Our Black Operations Units will focus on special tasks, though I'm not sure what that ought to encompass. I'm thinking random mission taskings, like "take out that shield generator," etc.

Since the infiltration mission was nixed, I'm probably best suited for space combat. While I am confident I could take on any single Jedi or Sith writer in the conflict, I'm ill suited for large scale ground combat. I'll be bring a small squadron of 4 Skipray 24rs to the fight.

Unless someone tries to square off against me, I'm going to focus on using my ships to accelerate inert beskar projectiles up to something like .5 or .6c, and then letting them loose on ballistic courses towards the driveyards. At that speed, it won't take a very large projectile to do obscene amounts of damage.

K, The Yavin ground stuff has been wrapped up in an anticlimactic way, done cheesy action movie styles with a fade out and fade in. Just a heads up.
I will be on the ground ASAP. Taung, I understand you want to try and off Ashrah? If so, PM me and we can work something out.

Ok so Sinistra is going to post objectives for both sides tomorrow and I'll have initial directions set up and after that you guys can feel free to peel off to whatever partners you have paired off with for 1v1 writing as the battle develops to that point.
And as for offing Ash it would be if you werent interested in being Manda'lor anymore.

Trull and whoever he brings with him (#npcs) will most likely be on the station. Not certain yet though; I'll go wherever I'm needed.

Ok. So.
As far as fleet goes, their job is going to be to destroy ships, and to escort troops to their objectives.
Opening phase, I figure we can split the fleets up. So that individual people people can spread out the battle to do 1v1 type stuff and they don't have to pay attention everything all at once.
Microjump to the planet from somewhere in the system to polar approaches, there is no point in jumping in where everything else does as those are the obvious insertion points and likely be the most heavily mined or trapped.
Ander and Shun I will have you guys come in from the south, and other people who have ships can as well. Keep together as long as possible and get troops to the station and ground respectively. Wherever they are going to pair off with whatever opponent they end up with.
I will bring in my ships from the North Pole first, because they are big and scary looking and will try to pull most of the attention from their ships my way. Later on if they try to go for you I will bring in my superweapon ship and pull even more attention away from your ships if I can.
After that, it will mostly be have fun, try to write keeping the yards between your ships and the planetside weapons as long as possible. I will post my scout ships having scanned the planets defenses so you should have a decent idea of what kind of defenses are in place. I can write a nice post with Taung giving a briefing to all the Mandos who are participating in which he would give them all that information if you would like. As well as giving general commands in space depending on how the defenders respond.

A repost from the Kuat Battle Thread, just for everyone' info: I'll be focusing my posts to cover one distinct unit for each of our branches, and then simply narrate the rest of the force in a general sense. So, one unit (likely a battalion) from each of the 1st Infantry Brigade Commando Team, 1st Armored Commando Brigade, 1st Airborne Commando Support Battalion, Black Operations (just 8 guys), and the fleet itself, of course. We have a small starfighter group, and dogfighting is too personal and detail-oriented for me to take on while handling everything else, so they'll likely only show up here and there to provide cover and support .

My fleet is ready to take some damage, however I will need to rebuild after. Any options that I have?

For rebuilding fleets? Lots. I plan to lose all my ships in this battle and rebuild.

We're looking to keep at least one, either our Venator or our Imperial-II Star Destroyer, though which one is destroyed I'll leave up to the RP Gods. However the story goes, it goes.

Holy hell, reading over some of these armies and fleets, I'm considering a push to shrink limitations again. lol After having written such detailed stories and characters with a small fighting force, these limitations just sound ridiculous. I can't look at them! It's too silly! XD
Seriously though, Mandos: My guys are all Commando-grade soldiers, minus our Black Operators, which are General-level equivalent NPC's. I write all my soldiers as best I can, the Forcies won't find any cannon fodder here. That being said, there's always a huge number of them, and though they can have Force Powers and lightsabers and all that good stuff, I can't even pack beskar onto more than a handful of my boys.
That being said: I would love to lead the charge on the ground here, and already have a decent plan mocked up, but considering we're outnumbered by an insane amount, GALSAF won't last a moment with boots on the ground without Mando forces to swell the ranks.
So again, I'm going for ground assault, have to cut through atmosphere and orbital defenses first though. Thankfully, both our Star Destroyers are capable of dropping into atmosphere, so I may just go with that and pack the extra firepower to help. (Unless there's rules against bringing and atmosphere-capable starship into atmosphere even though one man can fund an army of 50,000 people. lol)
I'm getting and entrance post up that will outline GALSAF's current plan. Feel free, writers, to interject IC/OOC at any time.

I like your plan Taung, and am working our boys into it with my entrance. I'd like to keep our entire force more or less together, considering we're best as a precision element. We can charge in together and basically spear our through the enemy. They outnumber our troops and armored vehicles, but considering the downsizing I did and trading up that followed, we pack more power and skill, so I'd be surprised if we couldn't help cut a swathe through to Sinistra's compound so the Mandos can secure the place.
I was planning on sending my Black Operators a little bit ahead to make a go at that shield generator on the planet. What do you say? You with me? Or do you have another plan already forming?
