Kadish took in a breath and kept his straight posture. His expression hardened as he responded.
It is fortunate that you two showed up then. I'm sure you can handle minor disturbance. I- on the other hand, must prepare for what's about to happen.
He turned away from them, partly wanting to make distance, and part of him wishing to actually take care of things he found much more important than some intruder. He glanced back
It's going to happen regardless. This place will be only ash. The Array has fore seen it. All we can do is prepare.
For a very brief moment, a glint of strange light came to Kadish's eye before he headed deeper into the lab.
So- this newcomer probably thought he was a mad scientist, who liked hooking people up to computers, and, with Thea's well timed comment about being here against her will, the man probably also thought he was a kidnapper too. Great.
well undercover work wasn't suppose to be glamorous. Dr. Noble shook his head with a sigh. I needed an assistant. These Ren idiots kidnapped me one. What ever. At least she's qualified.
He motioned to Thea, with a thin smile at her outburst. He then seemed to ignore the dangerous situation as he turned to the control panels and began checking Anna's vitals. Over there's Anna. Not quite sure why she looked at you though. She never does that unless she knows someone. He hesitated, glancing back to Dominic in some confusion. Come to think of it- Anna did foresee the absolute obliteration of this place in a few hours- but I figured there's be more of you.
He walked over to Anna's capsule and lightly tapped on the glass. I was expecting more sweetheart. Are you just trying to scare us? He smiled slightly,
But it suddenly vanished as Anna lifted her head and shot opened her eyes. She spoke, but her voice echoed throughout the room, from the intercom system, and within Dominic's ear.
It has begone.
Screens began flickering on, filling with scripts and layouts of the lab, and the surrounding field defenses. Anna's eyes seemed to track something, invisible to everyone else but her.
Ready external defenses. Maintain shield generators. Ground troops, prepare for assault. This is not a drill.
Nobel whirled to the controls and began keying in commands, which were almost instantly revoked by the computer system. Anna's message roiled throughout the facility. No longer was she speaking only to Dominic.
Thea, steady her while I lower the capsule. She's lapsing again. None of this is actually happening.
He said, fighting with the controls to actually release the large cylinder from its restraints.
But it is, Doctor. Protocol 317- You must not interfere.
The control panel Dr. Noble was currently working at suddenly ignited with sparks, sending the man sprawling backwards, grasping his twitching right arm.
Another message rang throughout the facility.
To your stations... Wipe out the intruders...

Dominion sighed to himself. Whether she was innocent or not, he was ordered to not leave anyone alive. But the more he thought about it, she was technically not with the First Order, and she was apparently 'Qualified' for something pertaining to this matter. She could live, only to elaborate to Dominion . As he spoke and was distracted, the agent raised his weapon again, aiming for the Doctor. Then she shot open her eyes and spoke, the only reason he didn't pull the trigger on him.
Her voice came over the intercom, alerting the whole place of danger. Suddenly, the trigger in his pocket to blow the whole building became heavy. He couldn't use it yet though, he would die. If he did fall, the timers would still activate.
But then she said something interesting. Intruders. Plural. Were there more people who knew about this place? Or did she mean just him? "Please tell me you didn't just trap me in here." He spoke into his earwick, lowering his weapon and aiming it at the door incase it opened.

*Kadish's irritation could be felt by Soku, something the senior Knight of Ren might have corrected were the situation not so dire. But the junior Knight was all too concerned about the evacuation of his precious cargo and experiment. Foolish. Soku paused for only a brief moment as they parted ways, long enough so he could call out,* "The future is never written. It must be seized." *Turning away, Soku continued once more down the hall, muttering under his breath.* "Another reason this experiment was foolish," *he realized before he and his Rodian companion made for the hangar.
Upon reaching it, noting the destruction caused, he scowled and scanned the area both visually and through the Force. One could hide from the Force, but they could not hide their wake...* "This way," *he announced, determining the most likely route, allowing the Force to guide him. Fools, all of them, incompetent and too trusting in their little pet project. These intruders were no match for the First Order.*

Thea jumped into action, forgetting all about this newcomer. She was curious to why he was there, but the healer inside her, made her push that out of her mind. She walked straight over, grabbing gloves, and waited for Anna to be lowered down. The last time this happened, she was terrified. This time, she knew what she was getting into. She just looked away from Dr. Noble when she heard Anna's voice again. Suddenly, Dr. Noble was practically thrown across the room, by means of being electrocuted. Running over to him, she knelt down and gave him a hand up. Looking at his arm, she saw that nothing seemed damaged, but it would hurt like hell. Turning back towards Anna, she pounded on the glass with a glare in her eyes.
"We are trying to help you, you stubborn girl!"

Dominic would hear a response quickly relayed to him, and only to him.
You are not trapped. The voice seemed to hesitate. When it returned, there was a noticeable quaver to it- as the mechanical nature slowly began to fade, giving rise to a very real, very sentient tone. I just wanted to see you- before my end. For a very brief moment, Anna blinked, and then looked straight at Dominic. She held his form for only a moment before something pulled her eyes away. The next words spoken to him were soft, contemplative almost. It has to happen, you know. I must be ended. This place, this- thing I've become- should never have existed. I- don't really know where I am, but I do know none of this was suppose to happen.
Anna's body jolted as Thea rammed her fist into the thick walled tank and her strange lurid eyes captured the young doctor like a vice. Her voice washed only over the room but it was reprimanding, and much more mechanical than the one Dominic had the privilege to hearing. I am tasked to keep this facility safe. He was trying to interfere. This cannot be allowed.
A spluttering cough came from Dr Noble's figure and his whole body seemed to almost ripple as he slowly sat up and glanced around.
What's that, Anna? Interfere? Bah, stupid girl. You have no idea why I'm here, at least, not yet.
He pulled himself to his feet and tested his legs. His right hand flinched every so often as he tested his fingers. Turning to Dominic, he spoke, partly pleading, but mostly demanding.
Hey, you with the gun. I'm not sure what Anna's telling you, but I know why you're here, and I know what you're about to do.
He held up his hands quickly, right one still twitching slightly. But I'm not here to stop you. But let's make a deal ok? I can give you an easy, sure way out of here and then you can push that switch you're carrying and blow the hell out of this place for all I care- but you have to promise, to take her with you.
He motioned to Thea with a nod. I must stay behind- with Anna, but Thea was never meant to be here. She has no part in this. Do we have an accord? He asked, looking sharply at Dominic.

Dominion risked glances at the two while he watch the door and listened to the AI speak to him. If he was more attached to whomever this girl once was, maybe he would think of a way to get her out. But, that wasn't his objective here. What she wanted him to do, was what he was told to do. Her apparent struggles and what she said to the girl made him think that a part of her was the computer, and the other was her humanity fighting back, hating what it had become.
He listened to the frazzled doctor, quickly turning the gun on him. He raised his hands in response, and kept talking. Dominion looked from him, to.. Thea, she was called, and to Anna, he supposed was the girl in the tank. Finally back at the doctor. "...Fine." He lowered his weapon, still watching him incase he pulled his weapon. "Never met a doctor being alright with blowing up his own work." He remarked.

Thea heard the doctor speak and her eyes went wide, as she took a few steps back. Leave here? She was totally over that, but leave these people here to die? She didn't know if she could do that. That wasn't in her nature. Yes, some of them were horrible, and knew what was going on. She couldn't help to think, that if they kidnapped her, how many others were just victims? She looked at Dr. Noble.
"No, I am not leaving you!"
She started to panic and looked at Anna.
"Is that what you want? All these people to die, because you can stop this, right now!"

Ten minutes to Drop Zone Alpha....Adi had been sitting in the back of the cargo bay, having a...smoke....to calm his nerves and mind a bit. With one final long drag, he inhaled the very last bit of Endorian Endo he had. For the first time in a long time, he was kinda selfish with it...which was why he was completely away from the group. He had to get his mind straight...put it on the proper track for the fight to come. He had a pair of earbuds in, listening to a rock song...nodding his head in time to the beat.
If he was gonna go out, he was gonna do it right.
Butting out the tiny bit left on the end of the joint in his hand, he put it in one of the pockets of his cargo pants, and pulled the headphones out of his ears. He inhaled deeply, exhaled, and approached the group assembled in front of him. As he passed the bag he had grabbed from his room, he handed it to Atton. Contained within was a helmet from one of Adi's ACTAS armors, a couple of thermal detonators, and a hold-out blaster, along with a reusable EMP charge. It wasn't anything spectacular, but the helmet had environmental seals, a HUD/targeting system, and would allow for seamless communication between Atton and Adi, due to the AEGIS link installed in both the CLoWDS armor, and the ACTAS helmet. He smiled, and nodded."You are gonna need those. I'm taking you groundside myself. You will be safe inside the shielding of my suit until I get you there. Sorry, it's the safest, most express way to the ground. I promise I won't let anything happen to you. I got your back. No one will get near you on the ground with me in the air, trust me. Get that EMP charge to the base of each of those towers, and set it off. It should disable the electronics inside. That thing has quite a pop.
Sorry to just drop you into this...pardon the pun. I'm glad you are with us, though."
He clapped his hand on Atton's shoulder, and nodded. He had a good feeling about this guy...he was pretty okay. Turning to the rest of the group, he began to speak. It was time to fill in a few blanks.
"Guys, gals....Raxxie has us at about 75,000 ft altitude right now, to give us maneuver time against the point defense around the turbolaser positions. Right now, we have every bit of the Son's jamming active, to keep them from knowing we are there until Atton and I jump. We will first take out the shield generator, and proceed on to the towers. By that time, though, they will most certainly know someone is coming. You guys won't be able to get anywhere near the place if we don't take out the shield, so do -not- drop until we tell you its down. Once we have it taken out, Loki and Antidar will jump in closer to the hangar bay. We have no idea if it will be open or not...but I am pretty sure you guys can figure out a way to crack that nut.
Raven, Sinina, once they have that open, you guys come in behind them. If another opportunity or entrance presents itself, and you can get in that way safely...hit it. It will cause confusion and draw their forces even thinner. Truthfully, I'm hoping that our attack on the guns will draw most of their security forces out to us, rather than keeping them inside the facility."Raxxie's voice came over the ship's com system, telling them that it was five minutes til drop time. Nodding, Adi walked over to Eya, and handed her the katana he had earlier pulled from the wall of his bunk. Reaching into his pocket, he pulled out the holorecording he had made earlier as well, and handed that to her, too."Do not listen to that recording unless things go south. It will help you with the package I left in your room earlier. It's your design, Eya...the one you gave me before the Mando Wars. I just tweaked it to make it faster, and gave you a few things that go boom. There is a spot for the katanas on the backpack...and they are maglock equipped. I also added a few extra cells to the stunstrips, so they are going to have a bit more...kick. Be careful with them if you have to use 'em.
I love you, Kid. I should be back rather expressly, so long as things go well."Smiling, he hugged her. His words were far more optimistic than he was truly feeling...but there was always the slim chance things would actually go the way they were supposed to, right??
Releasing her from the hug, he kissed her on top of the head, and turned away. He stepped toward the rear of the CLoWDS. Almost as if by magic, tiny plates shifted, and the suit opened, allowing him to literally walk into his armor. This was an upgrade from the older designs, which had a smaller access to get in and out. Adi had plans to use this new feature to his fullest advantage. Being able to exit and enter the armor almost at will was going to prove very, very handy. The eyes flashed a bright blue, and Adi rolled his shoulders inside the suit."Are we online, Gregory?"::Five-by-five, sir. We are ready to go. I have taken the liberty of adding a few pieces of hardware while you rested.::"Do I even want to know?"::Nothing you will regret having, I would venture to say. I added the Z6 rotary cannon that our friend Juuma left behind, along with a few extra types of grenades for the 30mm. I have also sent out terrain scans of the facility, and they appear to be coming online out there. The only conclusion would be that they know we are coming.::"That they do, Gregory. That they do. You ready for this?"::It wouldn't matter if I could be anything less than ready at all times, sir...This is happening regardless. So, yub yub, and all that jazz. Besides, it's not like I have a choice....you are wearing me.::Adieumus didn't even have time to react to how very wrong that last statement was before Raxxie was back on the PA system.::Two minutes, everyone!! Get ready, I'm going to be pulling some sharp maneuvers in about 45 seconds to get us to the drop altitude...45,0000 feet. Once Matango and Kaelin are clear, I will bring us back up to altitude until the shields are down.
Good luck you guys. Come back in one piece, or take as many of those bastards down with you as you can before you bite it.::Well, let it never be said that Raxana didn't have a way with words....

Anna did not acknowledge Thea's pleading. She peered straight ahead with glassed over eyes and a firm, yet blank look on her ghostly face.
Turbolaser 1, online.
Numerals and outlines began scrolling along the screens behind her. A map of the facility, every location Dominic had placed his cargo, and ever moving red squares of security troops.
Turbolaser 2, online.
Dr. Argon Noble shook his head with a frowned expression. No- she really can't Thea. Even if she could bring down the defenses of this place- it won't be Anna who levels it. It'll be this fine gentleman right here. He motioned to Dominic with a furrowed brow. Looking at Thea again, his expression softened. But don't think about that right now. Most of the staff are already leaving. By the time you two are at a safe distance, the only ones here will be security personnel, myself, and Anna. Because there's no way I'm allowing them to take her elsewhere and start this whole abominable practice up again. It's not what Anna would want.
He turned his attention to Dominic. You're doing her a favor. Offhandedly, I'm sure she'd be grateful. And for the record... None of this, He motioned to the room and to the Seer. Is my work. So I'm perfectly fine blowing it up.
Turbolaser 3, online.
Dominic's com crackled slightly, as if the connection was failing. I will keep you out of harms way, as long as the system will allow.
Dr Noble walked over to Thea and after hesitating for a brief moment, gave her a hug, quite unwarranted yet all together necessary. For that moment, he held her protectively. Looking down at her, he spoke, in what would be the most relaxed, kind voice she'd ever heard from him, in her whole time of being here. He wasn't pretending anymore. Before you go- I want you to know that I am, truly, greatly sorry for what happened to you, and I hope you make it home safely. He closed his eyes with a sigh. It's been a pleasure working with you, Miss Lockwood. He looked at Dom firmly as he released Thea. You take care of her- or I promise, you'll still be in here when it goes up. Pointing to the small back door Thea and Noble had entered in the beginning, he spoke his instruction. Straight down that hallway then take a right. Keep going, don't stop until you reach an intersection- go straight. Take the lift up, Turn left, keep going until you reach the hangar. Now go- quickly.
The scrolling data suddenly stopped, and a camera view of the dawning Etti Vii sky showed itself on the back room monitors, as if anticipating something to appear. Below, three projections and a glassy force field shimmered, waiting,

Loki nodded at Adi as he spoke to him glancing at Antidar with disdain. Loki then fiddled with the buttons and a small silver piece extended and flexed into his hear from the side of the cybernetic, an ear bud linked to his communicator. Loki looked around, it was a minute until drop time. ::Check, All respond?:: Loki whispered into the mic, hearing the clicks back he nodded and walked towards Adi.
Raxnna’s voice cackled over the coms.
::ETA to drop thirty seconds, dropping the ramp::
The ships ramp began descending as Loki stood in front of Adi. Adi’s visor lifted and they shared severe smiles. “Seems a bit more heavily armed then the one I tossed you into a building with.” Loki said loudly over the roar of air coming from the ramp, poking the armor in the shoulder.“Lets hope nothing like that ever happens again, eh?” Loki put his hands on Adi’s armored shoulders. “Don’t die, down there I don’t want to take care of this ragtag bunch my self, ten seconds get ready Adi, give me the go ahead when we can jump…” Loki released Adi’s shoulders and waved Atton over, Loki walked over and grasped one of the ramps arms, holding onto it, so as not to be blown out into the air. “GO!” Loki Roared. Waving them on, five seconds to drop time.

Turbolasers? That confirmed it. Someone else was coming for this facility. Was it the Sith? Was his mission kept a secret from others, and those whom were uninformed of the unavoidable destruction of this place came to destroy Anna? Possible. But whoever it was, Dominion couldn't be caught by them. He grit his teeth that not everybody would be here to get crushed under the rubble, but that couldn't be avoided. With whomever these people were coming down, of course the super computer would warn them. He was going to be reprimanded for this, but it was unavoidable. His only choice was to get out as fast as possible to catch as much people as possible.
He got on his knees and began taking his gun apart, changing the pieces out for the anti-armor grenade launcher that this weapon could morph into. It would take a few moments, that were taken up by the Doctor hugging Thea. Almost like she was a daughter to him, or something. He also received a scratchy message from Anna. He would say quietly, "Thanks. I'll put you out of your misery, don't worry." He truly felt sorry for the girl. He would opt for shooting her now, but the Doctor would probably be against that. Besides, who didn't want to go out with a bang big enough to take out a whole underground facility?
He put the pieces back into his pockets, careful not to push the button in anyway. He carried the launcher on his shoulder nonchalantly, like he was carrying a sack of food instead of a weapon that could take out a tank. "Come on Thea. We have to move." He moved towards the door the Doctor pointed him to, not looking if Thea was following him or not.

Well, I'll do what I can. And hand to hand is simple, Raven. I just want to help.
*She watches everyone else in their preparing, and as they all started breaking off to where they needed to be, she would follow close behind Raven, not wanting to get left behind or be in the wrong spot. She made sure she had everything where she wanted it. She sighs deeply, deep down she was scared, and nervous, but she pushed it out of her mind. She had to focus. She wouldn't let anyone see what was down there. She bites her lip softly and rolled her eyes at Loki, his speech seemed a little over the top to her. Yea it was a big ordeal they were doing, but it wasn't that big. As more time had passed she heard Adi going on about when they would go, She looks at Raven, then takes a deep breath, soon they would be underway, she'd never been part of something as big as this, and she felt she was holding together as well as she could, you had to start somewhere, it may as well be now. She truly felt like the sooner they got underway the better, her nerves wouldn't take the waiting much longer. She rechecked her hair, her weapons, her tools, for probably the fourth time in the last 15 minutes, she wanted to impress them all, and show them she wasn't just a pretty face. She was afraid, but she was determined and starts to pace a little bit as she becomes more and more restless with waiting.*
Waiting is so difficult...

Thea looked at the doctor, then at the guy with a gun. Suddenly the doctor hugging her seemed just right. She wasn't normally a very touchy feely person, but apparently times like these can change someone. Somehow, she knew he was a good guy, deep down. She could tell every once in awhile, in his face, that he hated to do this to anyone. That wasn't all though. He had this protective energy to Anna, so protective, that he would probably throw his body ontop of hers, to save her from the explosion. She didn't know much about that kind of stuff, and didn't know how many were set up, but to bring down a place like this, there had to be a lot. She looked up at him, with tears in her eyes and started following the guy with the gun. Turning back briefly, she looked back at the doctor.
"Dr. Noble? I'm sorry I slapped you....twice."
Giving him a brief, sad smile, she turned around and left the room with the other guy.

Eya went back to her room, to put Zee in there, hoping he would stay out of the way. She didn't want him to get hurt, and knew that if he did, she would hate herself. Changing into black jeans, shirt, and knee high converse, she smiled. It was her normal attire, but it felt comfy enough to move around in. She reached into her drawer, and grabbed her glass knives, and stuffed them into the top of her converse.
Reaching under her mattress, she pulled out her Katana, silently swearing about losing the other one to her father. Grabbing the package, she headed back to where everyone else was. Right as she sat back down, her father came walking in. She wasn't far from the door, but she wasn't close either, and could smell Endorian Endo on him. Narrowing her eyes, she glared at him for not sharing. Suddenly he addressed everyone. She assessed people who looked steady, but their eyes showed that they were all nervous. She couldn't blame them, the enemy knew that they were coming.
As she stood up, she moved closer to her father, to say something, anything. She was glad that they weren't hating each other, and she knew that they had a long way to go, yet she didn't want to leave things the way they were. Suddenly he handed back the Katana he took earlier and she smiled big. It was like they had one brain, at times like these. When he handed her a holo recording, she looked at it, confused. Listening to him talk about what to do, and what not to do, she stood there, kind of dumbfounded. She could certainly feel the pressure of being his daughter at that moment. She put the holo recording into her pocket and looked up at him, about to say something, but he stopped her short.
When he said he loved her, all thoughts went out the window. Standing there as he hugged her, her mouth went dry and her words got stuck in her throat. She wasn't expecting this, she was expecting to give him a witty comment, that he would just roll his eyes to, and shake his head at, smiling. When he walked away, she suddenly had this bizarre feeling, like something bad was going to happen. She didn't know what, or when, but just as she was about to say something, she realized she stood there frozen, and everyone was already at the ramp. Silently cursing herself, she pushed the feeling away and watched them get ready to jump out of the ship.

Raven Alora looked over at Adieumus, watching Loki help prepare him and Atton for the jump ahead. Her mind drifted back to the unexpected kiss, and her Empathy brushed against the former Jedi's emotions. She blinked suddenly. He was actually afraid he wouldn't come back from this. He really was. The idea astounded her. It wasn't a demeaning feeling toward him, but rather one of disbelief. She'd seen the man endure impossible odds, and walk out with a weird smile on his face.
Then the reality of all that had happened, to him and to the universe in her absence came to her. His state on Yavin- Something had broken him, something big, and that something still had him shattered whether or not he wanted to admit it. The universe was no longer an inspiring thing to defend- for Adieumus, it had become something to to scrutinize and approach with caution. His loved ones could no longer be his allies, because they had to be protected. He was desperately afraid of letting go, of all he feared to lose. And the idea that she had ignored a chance to encourage him, just half an hour ago, weighed heavily on the Jedi Master's heart. She determined that he had to come back from this, alive, just so she could make it up to him- so she could reconcile her own fear which she also must admit to herself.
Closing her eyes, she spoke quietly into the com- Everyone would hear it, she was sure, but she didn't really care. Adieumus would hear it too, and that was all that mattered.
What ever life throws at you, Adi- Never forget who you really are.
No one would really understand the implications of Raven's words, and she figured she'd be lucky if even Adi understood her, but while she did not know this man as well as others, she'd seen some of the best sides of him, and it was those aspects, the Jedi knew, which would help him survive this and conquer his unrest.
Her small brown eyes passed to Sinina, almost timid in her stature. She wanted to impress these people, and obviously she didn't want to die. That was healthy, but Raven wanted her to know that, she was not among those Sinina needed to impress. Remaining with this strange group of people, and going on this unknown mission without so much of a protest was a strong enough push in the right direction, at least for the Jedi Master. There was something- solid- about this Echani, and it was why Alora had asked Sinina to join her, even without knowing much to nothing about the girl. Gently, the Jedi spoke.
Hey- See all these people? None of them are looking at you. Do you know why? She paused for dramatic effect. Because they don't doubt you. I Mean, the first thing I saw was you running in front of Naboo law enforcement, fearlessly pointing them another way. You'll do fine, She smiled slightly, hoping to ease the girl's tension, mainly because that was how Raven Alora did things, but also because a distracted mind could spell death in a situation like this. For the record, You've already impressed me. She shrugged, but no one takes me seriously on this ship anyway. So- let's go smile at the enemy- they never expect you to smile.

Argon smiled at Thea's apology and shook his head.
Na- I deserved it, considering I'm not even a real doctor.
And she was gone. Noble signed and leaned against Anna's capsule, glancing up at the girl, still staring off into nowhere.
Well kid, It's just you and me now, waiting on the world to crash in on us.
He mused with a thin smile. He patted the tank gently and shrugged. We had ourselves a time though, didn't we? He suddenly whirled around and faced the Seer full on, putting his hands on the tank, and a strange, almost happy smile came to his face. But you know we're not going to die here. He even chuckled a little and shook his head. I've been keeping your secret. It's safe. No one else knows, I promise. Those intruders, They're here for you my girl. They've come to take you home. If you really knew who you were shooting at- Anna, I did my job, Just know that alright, you know- if you foresee me dying on my way out of here and all that, just remember- and forgive me. His sighed and pressed his head against the glass even as she spoke again in that strange mechanical voice of hers.
Ready hangar turret defenses. Lock and seal hangar blast doors. All interior guards, report to the hangar.
Argon clinched his fists and his shoulders shook slightly with an odd sorrow swelling within him. Slowly he looked up at her again. I weep for you Anna- You remind me so much of her, but at least this time- must maybe, I might play a part in bringing you back to life. He took a step away from the capsule as Anna continued spouting off commands, completely ignoring him. Because this- This my girl, isn't living. I'm sorry I couldn't get you out sooner.

Elsewhere in the lab, on the upper level, in a secure well known, yet rarely visited office, a monitor activated and a bluish outline of a figure appeared on the screen. Strange- obviously not blue eyes peered at the office owner as she spoke. Commander- your meeting with Adieumus Matango has been moved up approximately three hours. Would you like me to speed up some other processes?
No, That won't be necessary. Just make sure the asset is already off the premises. A man answered, cybernetic fingers typing away at some commands on the keyboard before the active monitor. Everything else is on schedule, correct?
By my calculations, sir- though, considering your appointment with the former Jedi has been moved, so has the time of your- your resignation. The Array's image paused briefly. Is there a problem with that? I can't really change it if you do have an issue. My programing has limitations, but I can show you a rough sketch of how it will play out if you want---
No...no, that's fine. No one needs to see how they die. It's pushing it to know when. But I believe I'm ready for it now- if everything you tell me is true. The man said. He leaned back in his chair, focusing his eyes on the screen, one a cybernetic, the other, a colorless gray. It's about time the universe was rid of me. What do you think?
I couldn't agree more sir. The Array looked skeptically at the man for a moment before speaking again. However, I am disappointed.
How can you be disappointed? The man retorted rather bluntly, partly put off by her comment of agreeing- and partly because- well he wasn't wasn't sure. Are you making jokes now? That's new.
No, sir. I haven't been able to understand humor for an indefinable amount of time. It's just- you've given me an impressive arsenal of weaponry but you've given me no clearance to access it She narrowed her eyes. How am I suppose to protect the facility if all I can do is deliver images and make announcements? Wouldn't it be logical to simply give me level 5 clearance, and be done with it? Your staff is about to be cut in production to 50% in the next .... She paused, for a brief second. In the next 13.8 minutes.
Fine... The man grumbled, keying a few more commands and closing his one good eye with a frown. I won't be here much longer anyway.
That is correct. Gratitude, Commander. The Array nodded, adding one last thing before vanishing into a black screen. And good bye.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Anna's eyes flashed suddenly, a brilliant silver, and she flinched slightly, a small twinge of pain etching across her face.
What is it? Dr Noble asked, uneasily looking up at the Seer.
Level 5 clearance achieved. She responded, glancing down at the Doctor briefly, before snapping her eyes front and center again. Adjust first and second turbolasers 74.8 degrees. 34 seconds ticked by, and Anna gave her first, offensive command.
Fire.
*Sinina crossed her left arm across her chest, rubbing at her right elbow as she looked away from Raven, the words ringing through her ears, she looked at the floor and gave her head a gentle shake.*
I lived on Naboo... I know the patrols... Some of them would know me. I was sometimes a troublesome girl. This is a Military Research Facility on a Faraway world. Unknown. And we're against a Seer....
*Her voice trailed off as she turned fully away from Raven, her right arm crossed her chest now to rub at her left elbow. Her worry increased. She shouldn't have joined. She was unexperienced, in over her head. She shakes her head again, her closed eyes scrunched tighter closed as she starts to draw into herself, the dark spot inside her mind starting to open, threatening to swallow her whole. She didn't feel like she would stop it from happening, and that only made it grow bigger. She stepped away from Raven, her arms hugging tighter to herself.
Sinina stopped dead mid step, her foot hovered off the ground even, "Smile at the enemy, they never expect you to smile." Sinina frowned, and everything seemed to melt away, suddenly she was worlds away, back on Dathomir. She wasn't a young woman anymore, no more then but a child, looking up at a similarly grey skinned woman, not much older then she looked now. The young girl had tears in her eyes, and looked fear stricken, the older woman reached forwards and brushed them gently away, and whispered to the young girl, "Smile at the enemy, they never expect you to smile." Sinina's eyes opened, her arms slowly slide down her sides until they hung loosely by her sides as she turned to face Raven again, she felt calm, the dark spot inside her closed as she pushed it down inside again. She nods slightly and smiles at Raven.*
Then we will show them what we can do.
*Her smile brightened more as her thoughts returned to the small child, which grips a training saber tighter, returned to her feet, and the older woman steps back, and the young girl faces off against training droids again, she would make her Mother proud of her. Just like Sinina would make the crew proud of her, she would do her part. She would show them what she was made of. She wasn't a little girl anymore, it was time she showed them all.
aLIEzDominion didn't wait to hear soppy goodbyes they may be having. They needed to move, and him moving ahead to clear the way worked well. He held his launcher in one hand, held at the hip and pointing slightly low. In his other was the handgun the assistant had as he let out his last breath moments ago. As the alarms went off and the robotic voice of what once was Anna declared for everyone to evacuate, scientists started shuffeling out of their workrooms with briefcases and bags filled with their research and findings. He still had the task of not letting anybody leave alive. One by one, he pointed his pistol at them and pulled the trigger. They were all running the same way he was headed, to the hangar, so their backs were to him. The first screamed as the blast didn't quite kill her, but ended up wounding her badly. It was ended quickly by one more shot to the back of the head as Dom stepped past. All of the people in the hallway whipped their heads around, seeing the woman getting executed, the assailants eyes locked onto their forms. Another man yelled in fear, and was the first to get a blast to his head. All of them began running from him, but quick shots picked them off. Then one was a soldier stepped out of a door right infront of the agent. He, at first glance, regarded Dominion as another scientist, until he saw the two weapons. Using his quick wits, Dominion estimated that the armor he had one was too thick for the pistol, and the launcher used this close would kill them both. He swung the heavy launcher into the man's head, blunt force trauma either knocking him out or killing him outright. His handgun was of a better caliber, so he dropped his small one and replaced it with his. He pointed the handgun down the hallway to see the coattails of the last surviving scientist escaping the hall, turning to the right. Turning quickly to check if Thea was following, he saw her behind him. With his head, he motioned for her to follow as he stepped over the guard, four or five dead people she may have known laying bloodied and dead on the floor or leaning against the walls. He took a right, just like the doctor ordered.
Butting out the tiny bit left on the end of the joint in his hand, he put it in one of the pockets of his cargo pants, and pulled the headphones out of his ears. He inhaled deeply, exhaled, and approached the group assembled in front of him. As he passed the bag he had grabbed from his room, he handed it to Atton. Contained within was a helmet from one of Adi's ACTAS armors, a couple of thermal detonators, and a hold-out blaster, along with a reusable EMP charge. It wasn't anything spectacular, but the helmet had environmental seals, a HUD/targeting system, and would allow for seamless communication between Atton and Adi, due to the AEGIS link installed in both the CLoWDS armor, and the ACTAS helmet. He smiled, and nodded."You are gonna need those. I'm taking you groundside myself. You will be safe inside the shielding of my suit until I get you there. Sorry, it's the safest, most express way to the ground. I promise I won't let anything happen to you. I got your back. No one will get near you on the ground with me in the air, trust me. Get that EMP charge to the base of each of those towers, and set it off. It should disable the electronics inside. That thing has quite a pop.
Sorry to just drop you into this...pardon the pun. I'm glad you are with us, though."
He clapped his hand on Atton's shoulder, and nodded. He had a good feeling about this guy...he was pretty okay. Turning to the rest of the group, he began to speak. It was time to fill in a few blanks.
*Atton took the bag and examined the contents as Adi explained their functions. Well at least most of them. A holdout blaster needed no explanation beyond 'point and shoot' and thermal detonators didn't need an explanation, but rather a warning to be a good distance away from it when it blew. The helmet would come in handy, sure, although if it was air that Adi was worried about, Breath Control would have sufficed to keep him going until he reached the ground and a simple headset would have worked well to keep in touch. Atton preferred to keep things simple during missions, usually only taking his lightsabers and a fusion cutter and improvising once on site. Still, he went along with it, if only because this wasn't going to be like most missions he had undertaken before.
He rolled his eyes at the pun, and because it seemed Adi was dead set on just dragging him into dangerous situations. Atton was wondering just what he had gotten himself into...he gave a silent nod towards Adi, then stood by while he filled the crew in on how this was going to go.
He joined Adi near the ramp, donning the helmet as he walked over. The HUD inside the helmet was active and the comm was patched in. It was almost time now. Atton made sure the bag containing the essential items was secured on his back before nodding at Adi once more.*I'm ready whenever you are.
"I don't forget who I am, Raven. That is why I do what I do. Please, Raven....be safe. If I make it back, we have much to discuss."At this point, he didn't care who knew he cared about Raven. His voice would most certainly give it away, regardless if he wanted it to or not...so it didn't really matter anymore anyway. Over the coms, the entire crew would hear it. Still though, he kept that nagging feeling pushed down as much as he could. Raven could tell he was holding something back, but there wasn't time to address it at the moment. It could be talked about...IF he came back alive. He knew that she was just trying to alleviate his fears, but at the moment, there wasn't anything that would really be able to do so. Only returning back to the Son, with everyone and everything intact, would do that.
Loki came over, and the visor of the suit opened. Adi smiled as Loki spoke, and put his hands on the shoulders of the armor. He truly did hope he would return, that they all would...but he wasn't altogether sure that it was what the Force had in mind for him on this one....he had this strange, gut-level feeling that he just wasn't going to be coming back this time. Still, he nodded and smiled at Loki."You watch yourself out there, too. Neither of us is invincible. We have yet to have that steak dinner you owe me, you know."In a very uncharacteristic move, Adi raised his right hand up in a fist. Loki, knowing exactly what to do somehow, did the same, and the two fist bumped. He looked over at his daughter, grinning ear to ear. She would be safe, at the very least. That was what mattered most. As long as the rest of the team came back alive, Adi could, and would, consider this a total success. There were times that a commander's life mattered little in the grand scheme of things...and, at least this time, Adieumus had fallen into that role. It seemed like fate, seen by Anna or not, had yet again seen fit to place him exactly where he needed to be. A chuckle could be heard coming from Matango as his visor closed, and the repulsors on his boots activated, allowing him to hover mere inches from the ground.
From out of nowhere, the ship rocked from something....something that had hit them, rather hard.::Sir, they have activated the point defense. The Wayward Son will not be able to take it for very long. Our time to exit is -now-.::::"Copy that, Gregory. Let's move!":: "GO!!"Loki yelled for them to jump, and Adi wasted no time. Activating his boosters, he grabbed Atton rather unceremoniously on the way out, literally flying right out of the back of the ship. No sooner had they done so than the Wayward Son again shot skyward to an altitude where targeting would be much more difficult for anything but the bigger guns. Down here, the point defense guns would be able to reach the ship, and they would quickly deplete the shields of the light freighter.
The shielding units of the CLoWDS armor came online, surrounding them in a powerful cocoon of energy to protect them from the incoming fire, not to mention the friction of the atmosphere. At the speed they were travelling, they would be generating a tremendous amount of heat. Then again, speeds like this...almost 4000kmh, the heat would be enough to incinerate them. The first drop on Honoghr to save Ice from Trynna years ago had shown the need for the energy shielding, rather than relying on the CNT/phrik armor itself. Pieces of the suit had been lost in the drop, and it had malfunctioned before it even hit the ground due to the excessive amount of thermal energy generated.
When you are moving fast enough to clear almost 14km in twelve seconds, you were bound to generate some kind of friction.
The streaks of blue from the multiple barbles of smaller laser cannons blasted skyward, trying to take out the small target they saw coming at them. However, due to the sensor negation on the suit, the ones firing them were trying to aim by sight alone. It wasn't working out very well for them, as Adi was darting back and forth to evade the incoming fire, aided by Gregory. Even so, one or two managed to graze the shielding, and cause the smooth flight down to be a bit bumpy. Opening a short range channel to Atton, Adi checked on his passenger.::You ok? We are about halfway down.::It was at this point that Adieumus realized something....He had to use the EMP cannon in order to drop the shield generator. With Atton in his grip, he couldn't very well allow the arm to convert to the weapon without risking dropping the man. He also couldn't put him on the ground, not without dropping him entirely too far away to be effective.
There was one choice. Atton had to go back -up- whilst Adi went -down-....and Atton was probably not going to like the 'how' part of it....::Sorry bout this....:: Cutting his boosters, Adi spun around, throwing Atton skyward. Without hesitation, the CLoWDS armor whirled back around, the right arm converted into the EMP cannon, and the suit shot toward the ground at an extremely rapid clip. Four shots ripped from the weapon, striking the shield at precise locations to cause the most impact. Taking advantage of the hole created by the EMP burst, Adieumus flew through, opening fire with the rotary cannon as he did so.
The generator never had a chance.
The smaller explosions from the cannon impacting the generator turned into a growing larger fireball as the shielding unit was torn to pieces from the multi-barrel blaster weapon. Not wanting to be around when the fireball turned into an all-consuming nova of an explosion, Matango again streaked skyward, searching rapidly for Atton. Seeing him coming down toward him, the Arkanian made a beeline for the other man, catching him at about 250 feet from the ground, and not stopping, so they could get clear of the impending boom. It was then that the generator actually fully exploded, sending out a shockwave that took out several of the anti-air guns around it as an added bonus. Luckily, the two men were a safe distance away by that point.
...Well, that was a lot closer than Adi thought it would be... Taking Atton the rest of the way to the ground, Adi landed, putting Atton down gently. The visor on the suit came up, and Adi looked at the other man. "Down in one piece....Thankfully. Sorry about the toss, but I had to get that shield down, or we would have been dead in the water. I didn't think about that when I came up with the plan to bring you down with me. Anyway....You have one last feature on that helmet that I need to tell you about. It's equipped with active camo....you can hide in plain sight for a short time, should you find the need to. And if you have a target you need help with, just paint it with your targeting system, and I'll handle it.
Good luck, Atton. May the Force be with you." With that, the visor clanked shut, and the active camo system on the suit blurred the armor from vision. The only indication that Adi had shot back up into the air was a burst of air and dust thrown up when he blasted off. Out of sight, out of sensor view, and now on a direct path for the three turbolaser positions, Adi was on his way to face his fate.
Opening a channel to the Son, Adi pushed back his growing unease.::"Shields are out, Raxxie...permanently. Send 'em down.":: Locking the first set of anti-air cannons in his targeting reticule, Adi began his assault on the first turbolaser position.
