That would be very convenient. She could already imagine ways to make use of that, just imagining the reactions of her various Jedi cohorts in the impossible event of them ever finding out. It was a good thing she'd never become as reliant upon the rules as they had. She preferred the freedom and mobility to be had in thinking outside the box. And the Jade of now as opposed to the Jade of several decades earlier was even more private regarding her personal affairs, and much more willing to act in her own best interests. She was feeling overwhelmed at the realization of the trust that Z'har had just placed in her. This gift was tantamount to being welcomed into his family with open arms. If she was physiologically capable of it she'd have been blinking back tears by now. As it was, she simply contemplated him in silence for a couple minutes, determined to give him something back that demonstrated her own regard and trust in him. However, that was a matter that would require some thought.
It was easy to lose track of time with him around, as if he had suddenly placed himself at the center of my universe. Even though his face was hidden behind the security helmet he'd donner earlier, I had no trouble envisioning his features. There weren't really words for what had just happened, or, words that could be spoken now that is. Neither of us was really what one would describe as 'emotional' or 'affectionate.' So, a simple, "Thank you," was all I could say, and even that fell short of the mark.
She flipped the twin silver hairsticks he'd just replaced, end over end in her hands. They were thin knives sharpened just enough to do the trick and catch the unwary offguard. But, she liked his much better. "So, the Grand Tour?" she queried, as he had only showed her his private quarters and this seemingly innocuous storage room. She felt like doing something active, to burn off her excess energy, though, she knew he'd win a rematch. Or did she? No holds barred? She still had the Force at her command, even though he'd inadvertently negated the most obvious of her other latent abilities.

-Z'har I don't see why not. Most of the chambers below ground level are storage rooms & utility chambers. Reactors, hydroponics, sewage, the works. The Citadel is fully independent of external ties. We even produce the fuel for the reactors here with special collector arrays.
Much of the above ground section is taken up by personal quarters & the various amenities that keep the staff here happy, full, & productive. As the staff here is either full time residence or on a six month shift, the Citadel is more like a self-contained city that a normal fortress.
The real heart of the Citadel however is the Command Center. The Command Center is the deepest part of the Citadel, it is a massive complex of rooms devoted solely to making sure that MandalMine Collective runs nice & smoothly. Every single ship, base, & station that is owned by the companies is linked up to the Command Center in real time & every one has an Operator that keeps them up to date on anything that may affect them.
So, what would you like to see first?
The unspoken message was fairly clear, in that he was offering to show her any part of the Citadel that she wanted. Of course, jade hadn't had a breakfast yet, so he was more or less certain that food would be the first stop. He had a few possible ideas about that, but it would mainly depend on what she was in the mood for.

"The Command Center is where I would start," Jade replied, hardly thinking about it at all. "It is there that everything happens." Much like she still knew the layout of her old ship by heart, the various stations and crews working at each, though most of the time she remained on the bridge, because it was the head of the ship. "But first, what about breakfast on the way there?" She smiled up at him, teasing lightly, "Or, do you intend to keep swinging me between adrenaline and starvation?" She'd have thought a direct, face to face approach was more like him.

-Z'har Very well, I have an idea about where we can get a bite to eat.
Leading the way out of the storeroom, the pair made their way down progressively more populated corridors. Exiting the hallway they had been walking down, the pair entered an hallway that was nearly three times as wide & twice as tall as the other hallways they had gone through before. Studding both sides of the massive hallway were open fronted stores & small gardens. Heading toward one of the cafes along the way, the admiral picked one of the tables & sat down, pressing a small button set into the edge of the table. A few moments later, a short human female walked up to the table.
-Waitress After offering menus Can I start you off with a hot drink?

Jade accepted her menu with a brief nod and glanced over it in a cursory fashion. She shot a glance over at the Admiral, then looked back up at the waitress. "Spiced caf if you'd be so good," was her reply to the hot drink question. Her own beverage of choice was tea, but she was particular about it and generally preferred to brew her own. She glanced around momentarily. This seemed to be a typical small cafe just like thousands of its kind spread across the galaxy. She waited till after Z'har had ordered and the waitress left before leaning forward to inquire curiously, "I am not yet familiar with this city, but what influenced your decision in favor of this cafe?"

After placing his own order, Z'har returned the menus to the waitress. As the waitress slipped off back into the back, there was a massive thud that sounded like a small cannon going off in the kitchen, followed by a massive wave of smoke. A few moments later a cook was chased out of the back by a much smaller woman wielding a ladle like a club & berating him at the top of her lungs. After chasing him around several of the tables, & landing a fair number of blows, the pair vanished back into the kitchen.
Surprisingly, few of the patrons reacted much at all to the spectacle, other than to watch.
-Z'har Well, beside the rather nice quality of the food here, one of the primary requirements to work here is apparently being completely insane. It usually makes for an interesting meal.

Unlike the majority of the cafe's occupants, Jade actually looked at the spectacle in amusement. "So it appears! What did you order exactly?" Perhaps it was his food that had exploded. She peered at him under the edge of the visor he was wearing. "Maybe we should go help before there's a fatality?"

-Z'har An egg & meat sandwich, nothing special. From the looks of things, the cook probably knocked over a cooking pot. I could check the holo feeds & discover exactly what happened, but that just feels like it would rob some of the mystic from the place.
As the air systems quickly cleared the smoke out of the atmosphere, it was fairly obvious that Z'har wasn't too worried about someone getting hurt. Taking a closer look around the cafe, it quickly became obvious that all the staff visible had something distinctly odd about them. One waitress was walking around with a small sledge hammer hanging from her shoulders, another looked to be wearing something that might have fitted on a doll.

Jade smiled. "I agree. Sometimes looking too closely into things can spoil the effect." Her eyes sparkled mischievously as another waitress passed them with drink pitchers in both hands and sporting what looked like a domesticated chicken on her shoulder. "It looks like this is the tiny bit of chaos within your well-ordered machine." Perhaps the loose supervision in this place allowed for extremely high morale. It was definitely amusing, but something deep inside Jade's psyche cringed at such an overt display of disorder.

The Admiral takes a long look around at the cafe & the cavernous corridor beyond.
-Z'har Chaos? No, that isn't quite right. It is merely the Illusion of Freedom showing itself.
Noting the lack of understanding from the woman, the Admiral decided to explain his choice of words.
-Z'har There are three primary illusions for governments & those that are in them. The Illusion of Freedom, the Illusion of Control, & The Illusion of Power.
The Illusion of Freedom is the belief that the people have that they can do whatever they wish, whenever they wish. It is an illusion because if it were true, there would be no law to keep those same people safe. The Illusion of Control is the belief that the government will protect them from whatever harm might face them. This is an illusion because no government is willing or able to stop every crime. The Illusion of Power is the belief that the government is capable of destroying any attempt to resist them. This is an illusion because for every soldier or police officer, there are a dozen bureaucrats & hundreds of civilians who can oppose them.
For some unknown reason, the three major governments of our galaxy have each foregone one of those Illusions. My people, the Mandalorians, have forsaken the Illusion of Control & they are seen as wild barbarians. The Republic, or which ever group is currently claiming the title, forgoes the Illusion of Power & it is seen as weak & corrupt. While whichever sith empire is in power forgoes the Illusion of Freedom & is seen as power hungry & domineering.
He waves his hand slowly in from on him, gesturing at the scene around them.
-Z'har I have attempted to create a nation of sorts that uses all three.
These people know that unless there is a threat & as long as everything gets done on time, no-one will interfere with their daily lives. Freedom of a sort.
They know that there are force field emitters everywhere in the Collective stations. The emitters can box off a fire as soon as it forms or a hostile being before it can injure someone. The know that there are sensors that can read the serial number off a cred chip spinning on its edge. More visibly, they know that if all those systems fail, there are guards everywhere to protect them. A limited scope of Control.
Because of my reputation, that if anyone even tries to attack, that I will destroy them. Even though they also know of me as being well over ninety years old. Power.

Jade was considering this when the waitress returned with their food. For herself this consisted of a plate of mixed kavasa and meiloorun fruits. She picked up a delicate silver knife and began neatly slitting the rind of a ripe meiloorun as she replied, "You have done an impressive job, though I think more than traditional governments you have the advantage of being in several places at once, don't you?" She tipped him a saucy wink as she peeled off a section of rind and bit into the juicy interior of her breakfast. "A people that is convinced they are free is easily controlled for a time. And then, when it is finally too late and they realize what is happening, the crushing fist of Power is standing by." She drifted along in a musing fashion for a moment before looking back at the Admiral, leaning forward just a bit to peer under his dramatic eye-visor. "I commend you for your dexterity."

Ignoring her first little jab, Z'har decided to instead take a bite from his sandwich.
-Z'har Well, you would be the one to know. But no, I think it is more a question of not ignoring any of the basic lies that most everyone wishes to be told.

Ah well. It seemed that he refused to rise to the occasion this time. She'd remedy that later. Having finished the meiloorun, she dipped into the kavasa fruit with a hearty appetite and finished her breakfast at nearly the same time that Z'har finished his sandwich. She generally ate a rather slim breakfast by some peoples' standards, but she'd found that a lighter meal tended to hone her alertness, and since her routine went from a light repast to a more rigourous form of exercise on a typical day she'd settled for fruit instead of a more heavy diet in the mornings. Too much food tended to make her feel both heavy and sleepy, neither of which appealed to her. She smiled, "I think some would be offended by realizing that on a basic level we crave the stability of lies. And yet, there is a shocking amount of truth in that." She delicately dipped the edge of her napkin in her water glass, dabbed at her fingers and lips, dried her hands, and then folded the napkin neatly before replacing it next to her now-empty plate.

Having finished his own sandwich, Z'har pulled out a small card & tapped it against a point marked on the table. Standing up, he led her a good way down the hallway, point out various shops & venues of interest. Eventually they left the massive hallway & entered one of many side passages leading off from it. A brisk walk & several hallways later found them at a turbolift.
stepping inside, the pair were whisked deep beneath the surface of the planet. After a few moments the turbolift slowed to a halt. The doors opened to reveal a massive chamber. The chamber's walls were lined with turbolifts, all of which could go no further down. Making their way down the corridor, the pair passed through several check points. Eventually, they reach another chamber this one much smaller. Only a dozen large turbolifts reach down to the Central Control.
After riding one of the turbolifts, the pair found themselves in a long hallway, studded regularly with doors on each side. Unlike the hallways above, this one was a blank white & devoid of any decoration or cover. Leading the way down the hall, Z'har stops at what appear to be a random door, as none of the doors have visible markings.
Beyond the door was a small room centered on a large spherical hollow space. Arranged around the space were banks of terminals. Inside the hollow space, a complex map of symbols & glyphs looked more like a truly physical object than the normal blue static of a hologram.
-Z'har Nearly all the rooms in the Central Control are identical to this one. The employees here are directing a small skirmish against a local pirate group we were hired to destroy.
Once he had described what the projection was displaying, many of the markers began to make much more sense. From the looks of things, the battle was going quite well.

Jade took note of where she was, naturally, but did appear overly interested in remembering every single door. Anyway, as the two of them progressed deeper into the interior of the planet and further underground, Jade bit her lip and focused on rearranging her body temperature. There were several different exercises young Jedi students were given in this arena, but it still remained her least favorite. All other things aside, she hated being cold. More than that, she despised it. So, the brisk walk was good, though not quite enough to offset the outfit that the Admiral had earlier recommended.
She slowly circumnavigated the area around the spherical war holomap, considering the events taking place there, before coming to a halt next to the Admiral again. "And, I assume each of these Control Centers is autonomous and isolated from each other and directed from a central nervous system? Or have you duplicated them?"

Z'har nods as it was a very good question.
-Z'har The control network is a single entity, but one that would be incredibly hard to subvert. Generally speaking each of the rooms is directing only a single thing. But for particularly large engagements & complex problems, several rooms might work in concert. Beyond directing troops & fleets, Central Command also issues orders to many of the automated systems on various stations, such as the worker droids or assembly lines. In many cases for production stations, the crew located on board are just there in case the connection gets broken or something else fails.

As she suspected, while this was part of the Control Center, it was not Central Command. It was instead an outer layer of the nervous system behind the MandalMine Collective. She smiled wryly because in this instance 'central nervous system' might end up being more literally true than she had at first envisioned. Jade was enjoying this. It was similar to the command structure of a capital ship, but on an exponentially larger scale.
"So, you have yet to show me what I am truly curious about." By this point, she had ceased walking the room and was standing near enough to the tall Zabrak to converse in a low tone without disrupting the operation around them. "Are you teasing me on purpose?" She left unspoken that in this case she could practice stoic unconcern and wear him down.

A smile glanced across his face, apparently she had missed the importance of the room.
-Z'har Central Command is not a single room or controlled by a single small group. Instead it is like a brain, made of a large number of identical cells working together. In a way, the entire Citadel is Central Command, as everything here is present to support or protect these rooms we are standing in now.

Jade nodded. There really was no way to ask the question she'd been considering. No doubt in time all would become clear. For now, she accepted the way things were. "Understood." She replied in one word. Maybe it seemed militarily terse and abrupt, but she didn't mean it that way.

Z'har nods, it was an understandable response. He also wasn't going to hazard the risk of revealing the location of his true self just yet. He may trust her, but that didn't mean someone else couldn't use the situation to their own advantage.
-Z'har Very well, What would you like to see next? You seen some of the recreation areas. There is still the hangers, the defensive wall, & the courtyard. Though there isn't much to see on the courtyard. There is also a fair bit more of the recreation area to be seen, but that is often the case in a location of this size.
