"Ok, strictly recon. If that is all Master Jade, I shall take my leave."
Nemo bowed respectfully and pocketed the datastick. He walked around the Jedi Councillor and he hoped in the general direction of the North East Tower.

"It is to hoped that is the case, Nemo."
Jade nodded. He would be on the ground so the judgment call would go to him. She bowed formally.
"May the Force be with you."
And then the two of them parted ways, leaving the Room of a Thousand Fountains in two diverse directions, bound for different destinations.

Hexecter Hue entered the room, and released a soft sigh of contentment. This was the end goal in a journey that had seen him walk across well over a thousand kilometres of this bustling world. After receiving much needed medical treatment to his wounded arm, when most would just take a shuttle to their destination, Hex decided to take a stroll instead. Months later, his urban trek had come to an end, and he was back in the most tranquil place that he knew on the whole planet. He had not been here for several years, and although things were somehow different now, the feeling was still the same.
He slowly made his way along the winding stone pathways toward the centremost part of the room. There, he found a vacant stone bench, and removed his satchel bag before easing down to take a seat. His eyes had been busily looking over the features of the enormous room as he had entered, but now as he sat, a minute growth of moss, clinging to one of the cracks in the stone bench, caught his gaze. “Well, hello there…” Hexecter said quietly to the moss as he studied it.
That piece of moisture soaked moss had Hex enthralled for the better part of ten minutes before his attention was drawn back to the awesomeness surrounding him. He remained seated for quite a while, reflecting on both his recent past, travelling this world, and more distantly on Felucia, where he had resided for much of his adult life. That was all behind him now though. He had returned to this temple for a reason, and that was to finish what he had started.
Hexecter had never completed his training as a Jedi. He had certainly honed his skills, and had never felt such a strong connection to the Force as he did now, but he knew that there was still much to learn. There was also, he believed, much that he was obligated to dedicate to the Jedi Order, after having been out on his own tangent for so long. It was time.

After several hours of reflecting, pondering, contemplating, and possibly even taking a short nap, Hexecter finally decided to rise up off his seat. He had a great big stretch, and then had to sit for another moment because he made himself dizzy, but then he was on his way! He gathered his very few possessions, and left the room in search of some purpose here.

*Gavin came to the Room of a Thousand Fountains. While this was his first time in this particular room, he had found that many orders, even the Estate of the Ten under Sinistra, had rooms such like this. He smiled. No matter who you where, one could not deny the beauty of nature and the peace it can bring, unless that person was an agent of chaos and cared only for destruction. He made his way slowly through the room, taking in the beauty that resided on this world. He stopped at a fountain and looked into the clear water, then looked around as a saying he had spoken to Tyra at the beginning of her training came to mind. There was no one around, but he spoke aloud, perhaps to simply say it to himself.*
"The world around us. There is such beauty in it when we actually stop and look. Yes, we all say it. I've said it many times before, but every time I stop and actually look, I am in awe at what I see. The only thing in this universe I'll ever call 'perfect'. Look and take in everything. In everything, there is a lesson to learn. These lessons can shape you, strengthen you, give you knowledge and wisdom. Each of these is important to finding true strength and being true warrior."
*He smiled as he thought over those words. True strength and true warrior, something that he always sought after. That was what he was about, gaining that true strength and being that true warrior. He remembered. It had so long since he had sought after that. And now, it had all but disappeared completely in his mind. But it still remained in his heart. Gain such strength, he remembered wasn't about gaining lots of knowledge and becoming immensely strong in the Force. It meant so much more. You could be much weaker, but gain that truth. He only needed to remember what it took to gain it.
He ran his fingers through the water before pressing on. A few minutes more of walking around, he found a place that he felt would suit him well. He removed his trench coat and set it to the side, letting his defined bare arms become revealed. He sat down and crossed his legs, taking in a deep breath as he closed his eyes. He began to relax and let himself sink into his own mind. He dove deep, pushing into his past to the memories of his training with Tyra. She was the one person out of all in the galaxy he felt could be a successor to his power and knowledge. He trusted everything to her, for she was like a daughter to him. It was there he needed to go to remember his own training and to remember who he was.*

*As the time past, Gavin pressed deeper into his mind, peeling layer after layer of memories. Getting to where he needed took a little time. There were one-hundred and thirty years of memories on top of it. Many memories he sifted through, many that made not come out they way he had hope. So much loss and regret. Watching Nyx leave, his fall into darkness and the chaos he created, his battle with himself and the sealing of his power, fifty years of endless wandering of his home, the final battle with Raziel that was meant to end it all, his time fighting with Iron Hail and once again causing chaos, the loss of Tyra, the fall of the Machine Empire, and his retreat into exile. But finally, he got where he needed and saw the face of a beautiful young woman.
He smiled as he remembered he face. Dirty blonder hair that fell just below her shoulder, the red and yellow eyes caused from the poison that kept her in darkness too long, he joyful smile. He valued her, cherished her as an apprentice and a daughter. He felt the Force had given him another chance to be a father, to teach and to raise properly. And he felt he had. Of all he had trained, he was most proud of her and her accomplishments. She had taken in everything he taught her, but still followed her own path, for which he was thankful. She started as his brother's second-in-command of the Kiffu Guardians, in time becoming the leader as Falcor had stepped away from it, cherishing his own time with his family. She had done great and wonderful things and he couldn't have asked for anyone better.
He pushed on, getting to the beginning of her training, when he first brought her to Kiffu. He had beat her into unconsciousness, seeking a reason to why she was there. Six months passed, the minimal training beginning. He then sent her to Dagobah to train in the wilderness and for a year and a half she lived in the swamps, learning to survive. When his brother called the Shadows together, he return and summoned her back and began the real training. The scene played in his mind, the fountain meditation room, he spoke the first true words of her training, wanting her to find a reason to fight and train. For her, it was to find a purpose, for she was without one. And from that point, she dove deep into her training. He focused in on himself at that moment, listening to the words he spoke, and as he did, he spoke them aloud to himself.*
"Search deep inside you. Past the flesh, the mind. Deep into the spirit and heart of your being. Find what drives you. Find your passion. Why do you fight? What reason do you carry those blades, engage others in battle? Find these things and meditate. Focus and let them rise within you. When you fight, let these things thrive in you. Fight with passion. Fight with honor. Fight with every living breath you have. Never give up. Time will go on and your reasons to fight will change as new reasons come to play, either by seeing new things or meeting new people, but should they come from your heart, they will be a reason of who you are. You have ideas, now you must shape those ideas within you. Make it an oath, and code within your mind so that it may be a more firm sense of fighting and living and not just ideas that come and go. Engrave it into your heart, mind, body, and spirit. Let each of these become one with the other and not separate entities within on being. That, too, brings great strength. A true warrior knows his strengths, his weaknesses, and his limits. He knows when he should quit and when to press on. He knows the reason for the battle he fights and uses it. He knows control over his emotions and when to use them for strength and when they would be a burden in battle. He knows and values life as it is. He does not try to change anything, not even himself, for if he does, he begins to lose everything that made him. His resolve will be gone, his will altered, his heart changed."
*As the words played in his mind, he began to remember, remember what he was. He was a warrior, plain and simple. He valued life and sought to protect that which needed to be protected. He was not afraid to what was necessary, though if he could avoid ending a life, he would. That's what made him a hard man to trust, for he fought the fights that needed to be fought, no matter who it was against. These words he had spoken to Jade days ago in the main entrance, but he had forgotten the depth of their meaning. And that would be what he sought after now. The depth of the meaning of his words and belief.*

*Time continued on as Gavin peeled more memories aside to find the ones he needed. He was no glancing between multiple memories of different times, but the same training. It was his time with the Dark Jedi under C'thulu Plaga and his continued training of Tyra. One of the most important things he had learned from the Dark Jedi was control and mastery of oneself. They taught one control of their emotions, pain, sickness, and past. They held rooms that pulled at a particular emotion, amplifying it beyond what one would normally feel. Anger and fear where some of the most intense, the former being trained in such a degree that Sith poison was used. It was a matter of control your anger or die. He remembered being there for days, anger surging through his being like a fast acting poison. He wanted nothing more than to destroy and kill. But his training had paid off and he, in turn, used these methods when training Tyra.*
"Emotions are apart of us. Each being in this galaxy feels. One can learn to control and shut it off for a particular occasion, but none can simplly avoid it and cast it aside. There will always be something that stirs the heart and drives a certain feeling to the surface. If one does not understand the emotion, does not accept it as being natural to who they are, they can consume and corrupt, driving one into darkness that blinds them from the world around them as well as themselves."
*He knew the truth in these words. Instead of using his training as it should have been, he used his ability to hide his emotions to hide them from everyone, including himself. He would let them out in battle, but seal them away just as fast. In secret, he feared his own anger and fear, afraid of the rage and hatred that would follow. Little did he know at the time that would be exactly what would happen. After his training with Tyra, his mission with the Guardians had its consequences. He parted from the Guardians early to assist a man who was being chased by the enemy. Once the enemy had been stopped, the man explained that these men had taken his daughter and he was going to get her back. Asking the man to stay, Gavin went on ahead. He found where they were and snuck in from the basement. There he found young girls laid about naked, beaten, and dead. It was obvious that these men were raping them and beating them to death. When he looked at the faces of the girls, all he could see was his daughters, Videl and Tierany. At that point, his heart rip itself open, letting out the anger and rage kept inside. He used the shadows outside their intended purpose, letting it alter the mens' senses. In the end, they killed themselves in fear. He freed the one girl left, which happened to be the man's daughter and returned home to Kiffu with the Guardians.
There all his emotions and darkness took shape and after a losing battle, he had become trapped in his own mind. With his darkness in control, he caused chaos and let his hatred flow. Thankfully, Tyra had rescued him, though he ended up separated as two separate beings. Using what little alchemy he knew, he used a sword he created to absorb his darkness. In the end, it sealed all his power away. But through that experience, he had learned an important lesson. But he held regret for how long it took and the cost it had. But it was time to move passed it all, remember the truth in his training and become better than he ever was before.*

*As Gavin reflected up emotions and his fall into darkness, he began to remember the true teachings of the Shadows. He had not learned it from any who existed in the Shadows at the time, but when he died. He remembered that battle with Raziel, one of vengeance, but yet, also balance. He couldn't forgive him for what he did to his wife, but he wanted to save him from the darkness and chaos before he became lost in it completely. He succeeded, but at the cost of his life. That was the true reality of the Shadows, risk what needed to be risked to maintain balance. But he didn't join the Force. Instead, he found himself floating aimlessly in a dark void. There, he felt himself fade away, bit by bit. But while he faded, unable to do anything, he heard voices. They taught him the true reality of the Shadows and taught him the way back to the living. When he was almost gone, he followed the lessons given to him by the voices, the Ancients. His body dispersed and reformed. Being so far gone, he was unable to return to his normal form, but instead his body created itself based on the power within. From then on he was half demon, sustained by the Force and now with a new mission to restore the true Shadows. While it started to work, it failed in the end. But the lessons he learned would forever lay within his heart and forge his path.*
"For in each being there is darkness and light. One can not exist without the other. It is what makes the balance. The goal is not to snuff out one or the other, but to find the harmony of both. The balance, while not weighed the same for each individual, helps bring clarity to the truth of life. For without chaos there would be no peace, without pain there would be no ease, without despair there would be no hope, for we are all just a link of the chain of the light and the dark."
*That was the truth that had driven him forward. He had found that balance long ago. He had found that while he can step into the darkness and descend into its depths, he had the desire to be a light to others. Recently it had confused him, blurred his vision with the losses he had sustained. But now, with Jade's help, he was beginning to see the truth of himself once again. Never would his path of learning and growing end, but the clarity of his heart would be sure and true. He was almost there, almost completely back to the truth of himself.*

*It had been a day, meditating and pushing to the depths of his memories, searching for the truth of himself. After all the long hours, seeing the good things and the bad, watching himself fail and rise again, he began to pull from the memories. he could hear the sounds of the garden around him, the fountains and their running water. It was welcoming to him. He opened his eyes and looked at the area around him as if it was new to him. He look in a deep slow breath, letting it fill his lungs before he slowly let it out. He finally understood.
As he looked around, he felt a hand on his shoulder. He turned and saw Jade there. He stood to his feet as he looked at her. Just as many accounts had described, she held a bluish glow and he could see through her a bit. She smiled at him and raise her hand to his face. He felt it run along his cheek. He brought his hand to hers and felt it. He looked to her, his eyes showing his questions. She chuckled a bit.*
=Jade=
"You wonder how, as a Force Ghost, I can actually touch you and you me. I never joined the Force." *She placed a hand on his heart.* "Remember, we were bound together at our wedding by the power of the traditional pearl. I will forever remain with you until you finally pass to the Force. So I'll always be here for you to help guide you when you need it. I'm sorry it took me so long."
*Gavin shook his head, his eyes watering lightly.* "There is no reason to be sorry, my love. You are here, and now I know that you always will be there when I need you. I'll never forget that."
*She closed her eyes for a moment before looking back into his. He could almost fully see the green that they were. She let her hand fall to his chest where the necklace lay and ran her hand across it for a moment before taking a step back. She let her arms hold one another under her breasts as she looked at him curiously.*
=Jade=
"So did you find what you were looking for?"
*Gavin nodded.* "Yes. I remember the man I was, the truth I believe. I am, and forever will be, a warrior. But I do not fight for the sake of fighting. I do not fight for strength or power or glory. I fight to protect that which must be protected. It is what I am. I can't stay separate from myself, the light and darkness, the fullness of my emotion, my heart, my mind, my body, and spirit must be one once again. It is who I was meant to be. But finding isn't enough. I must go into training once again to achieve that in myself. This time, I know I'll do it right."
*Jade smiled and nodded. She said no words but instead moved up to him and kissed him softly. He could feel it, not so much as her touch, but it was there. Whether it was from her being there or his memory of her kiss, it didn't matter. It was real enough. As she kissed him, she faded away. He opened his eyes and took another breath. He knew what needed to be done. It also meant his time here was coming to an end. But he wouldn't leave just yet. He sat back down into the grass before finally laying on his back. He decided to catch some sleep before he headed out. And with such, he was out.*

*Gavin let out a yawn as he sat up with a stretch. He had gotten many hours of sleep and felt rejuvenated. Laying back on his back, he flipped himself to his feet. He stretched out his arms was again, letting out a groan. With a sigh he looked around. He rather enjoyed the peaceful feelings of this place. It reminded him of home. But his time was over here for now. Time to gather his weapons and head back to Kuat. He knew what he needed to do. He was going to return to his training, going to face the tough terrains of other planets. Dagobah would be first. But in order to do that, he needed to acquire a new ship. With his ship in ruins on Kashyyyk, it left him with no transportation of his own. That would be his first priority, then on to training. Reaching down, he picked up his trench coat and slipped in on. With a final glance, he made his way to the Academy Wing.*

*Gavin entered the room and made his way into in just a little ways before stopping. This is where the terminals said she was. He didn't know why he wasn't able to sense her the first time. Perhaps his mind was too full of thoughts to searched clearly. Maybe now that he was closer, he would have better luck. Closing his eyes, he reached out searching the area. She was much closer. As the terminal suggested she was on the edge of the room, walking upon the balcony there. Looking to the balcony, he looked out to it to find her, making his way closer as he did.*

Jade was looking out into the far distance towards the Manarai Mountains. She pushed the long sleeves of her outer robe back up her arms and listened. Despite all the little bubbles of presence within the Force, one of them had detached itself from the muddle and was heading towards her purposefully. The prickling sense that warned of danger was not in evidence, so she didn't turn around. But, even without looking she knew who it was.
"Gavin."
She greeted him aloud. They had met earlier and at first she had wondered if she had known him, but then he had proved vastly different from his sister-in-law.

*Gavin looked up as the voice spoke, allowing him to find her. He didn't say anything at first, only let his mind run as he tried to find the needed words to progress this smoothly. But it never mattered. He couldn't predict how she'd respond. Would it be with disgust or perhaps welcoming? There wasn't anything that could give him a sense of where things would go. Taking a breath, he used Force Flight, lifting himself off the ground slowly and made his way up to where she was. As he gently touched down, he gave her a simple glance before crossing an arm across his chest and giving a light bow.*
"Master Jade. It is a pleasure to see you again. You said we'd undoubtedly meet again soon, but I must admit I did not expect it to be this soon nor under the circumstances that I have returned here." *Gavin stood straight again as he let out another uneasy breath.*

"And what circumstances might those be?" she inquired lightly, turning to look at him, as a slight crease appeared between her eyebrows while she observed him narrowly. She would have noticed if anyone had set fire to the Temple, so she gathered it was something else. And judging from the uncertainty clouding his presence Gavin Phoenix was not sure how the Jedi would react.

*Gavin took a breath as he set his pack on the ground. Once settled, he reached up and removed the large sword on his back. He held it for a moment, his mind pondering thoughts before he set it down as well. Leaning up against the railing, he gave a sigh as he took into the sky.*
"I remember telling you last time that I was here that I fought the battles that needed to be fought and protected that which needed to be protected. While it can seem like a good thing, it leaves many things open. And at the time, I remembered that but I also had forgotten what it was that I protected." *He reached up to his chest and held an emerald that lay in a necklace.* "During my time here the last time, I sought for information. I wanted to expand my knowledge, but also, I wanted to see where I could really belong, where I would best fit. Anyway, while going through the the Archives, my wife returned to me. She encouraged me to remember who I was, why I came to this point with this particular power and understanding. And as such, I remembered my time with my brother. he had started an academy on Kiffu, training Force-users to use their powers, but didn't align it with dark or the light side. Instead we tried to help them understand both sides. He also started the Kiffu Guardians again. Only we did more than what they used to. We would be a rescue team, going into battle zones and worked as an evacuation team for civilians. Wars are inevitable. We didn't want to fight on either side. We simply wanted to keep those who weren't involved out of the fight the best we could. And that's what I want to protect."
*Gavin crossed his arms and looked to the ground. He had been proud to serve with his brother and apprentice in helping those they could. They couldn't save everyone, and it was something they accepted. But saving some was better than none.* "While the Empire is expanding on a diplomatic scale rather than forceful expansion, aside from the battles in the Deep Core with the remaining Imperial Remnants that don't approve of the new Empire and Sinsitra as its leader, I'm not worried much. But the time will come when their strength is back to one-hundred percent and there's no telling if there will end up a war or not. I was taught by one Sith that they, too, value life, but are not afraid to end it if need be. In this war, I worry that the civilians caught in the middle might become that need be to the Empire. That is something I cannot accept. So I am avoiding that situation of turning against the Empire and left before I became too involved. I'm fighting the Empire still, yes, but I'd rather leave now before I get in too deep."
*Standing straight, he took a single step to Jade and held himself firm before dropping to a knee. He kept his head looking to her as his eyes focused on her.* "I wish to fight alongside and aid the Jedi the best that I can."

Jade listened quietly enough to a jumbled mass of facts, but it seemed that Gavin's long-dead wife had manifested herself to him via the Force and convinced him to leave the Empire.
"Get up. Kneeling has never been required among the Jedi," she replied curtly while still assessing the situation. She folded her arms contemplatively.
"So, you have left the Empire, correct? Does the Emperor know this?" that could prove embarrassing in the future, but if she did not ask the hard questions now, who would? There was no point in fostering a potential double agent in the middle of the Jedi Temple on Coruscant itself, though it was not beyond reason that someone would attempt it. In fact, the recent situation with Five on Corellia led her to believe that a similar situation was developing there with the notable difference being that they were not only aware of it, but accepting, in so far as it remained a beneficial relationship for themselves.
"The Jedi have not declared war on the Empire, Gavin. That is out of our sphere of authority, and the universe would not thank us for creating a hot war from a cold one. We are not leading armies." She smiled faintly, "but this does not mean that we do not oppose the advancement of the Sith."
She viewed his declaration with a modicum of concealed skepticism as it was so far in opposition to his earlier behavior and manner of speaking. But, time would reveal the truth of the matter.

*Gavin stood his feet, his ice blue eyes looking at her for a moment. He gave the smallest of smiles and a faint laugh.* "In my time with the Dark Jedi, I was taught to never bow to anyone, yet, I cannot help but do so in show of respect, and at times, humility."
*Gavin focused on the question asked of him. Did the Empire know? He could only imagine the implications behind his departure. He could still been viewed as a traitor and be sought after, they may assume he was captured and use it as a means to attack the Jedi. On the other hand, with the state they were in, it would no doubt be thought that he was spying on them for the Empire, as Jade thought. No matter the thoughts or the reasons, he didn't expect himself to be welcomed openly. He would have to gain trust and respect.*
"That is a slightly complicated. Do they know that left? I didn't make mention of it to anyone. But I had told Sinistra that I would stay for a time and learn a bit, but didn't plan to stay. I had nothing to offer the Empire so I was going to return to wandering again. She convinced me to stay for a while, learn the ways of the Sith. Even the Sith that taught me knew I would leave soon. So it was known that I would, in fact, leave."
*Gavin looked out to the gardens, letting his hands rest upon the railing. He took in the deep breath as he admired its beauty. He so desired that all places could enjoy this beauty, this peace. But as the Sith code said, peace is a lie. To Gavin, part of this was true. It was nearly impossible to enjoy such a peace with no worries of hardships or war. But it had been the goal of Falcor and himself to create such a place on Kiffu, much like their home. If there were at least small little sanctuaries of peace and beauty that could allow people, for a time, to forget about such trouble and enjoy themselves, maybe that was enough.
With the last thing she spoke, Gavin nodded.* "I am glad that the Jedi haven't declared war. As you said, it isn't their place, but still, as you say, you will not be thanked for creating such a war. Despite my opinion mattering or not, I'm truly glad for that. The Jedi are meant to stand as a symbol of hope, peace, and light. They can be very far out of reach a lot of the times, but as long as the Jedi exist, there is the hope that such things can be achieved." *He turned back to her and leaned on the railing.* "I can't say I'm opposed to the Sith advancement as well. But I believe that should war come, they will be the one's to draw first blood and they will not care who is caught in the middle. This is what I wish to fight against."
*He tilted his as he looked at her. Her skepticism was concealed but it wasn't hard to guess there was some there. It was obvious.* "I know that it is hard to trust me. You may worry I'm here to spy, or that perhaps they may come after me, whether thinking I was captured or seeking out a traitor. But I speak truth about wishing to fight with the Jedi. Ask me anything you wish and I will answer honestly. Bring forth any test you wish to administer to see if I'm worth trusting. I will not hide from you, the Council, or the Jedi."

"Interesting," Jade replied in a musing fashion. From what she knew of the Dark Jedi Order under Reign, Nocturnus, Eversio, and company she was highly skeptical about any of them receiving disrespect lightly. "Which Dark Jedi do you speak of?"
Regardless of Gavin's willingness to accept any tests the Jedi might wish to administer, Jade herself knew that trust was only given in time. There is no dependable test to determine trustworthiness. "There will always be people caught in the middle, people for whom Jedi or Sith are distinctions that do not create much of a difference in their immediate lives. Those people are generally the first to die. Much as we attempt to limit that, it is still one of the ugly truths of warfare."
"How exactly do you intend to stop it?"

"The Dark Jedi I trained with was on Zonama Sekot at the temple of Asgard, lead by C'Thulu Plaga. He was my master there."
*He listened as she spoke about those that were always caught in the crossfire. He knew not all could be saved. He had accepted that such reality long ago when he first started working with Falcor and the Guardians. There would always be death and denying such was foolishness. "Yes, there will be death. It can't be avoided, no matter how hard you try. And as such, there is no way to stop it, not without erasing war completely. Such a notion is a mere fantasy. I can't stop it, all I can do is help, to add a little more so that a few more can be saved." *He took a breath.* "I've never believed that any one person can stop anything. My ambitions and hopes have never been so high. All we can do is what we can with what we have. If me helping can save just a little more, then progress and hope remains and can grow, if only a little.

"What are you wanting from the Jedi Order?" she inquired. Green eyes glittered in the sunlight slanting in through a tall window. Given his past and admitted philosophical differences from the Jedi, she could not see him being accepted as a trainer of padawans. In her opinion, one of the reasons the Jedi Order was in the position it was in currently was its lack of discrimination and oversight of those who were training the future Guardians, Sentinels, and Consulars of the Order. There was no need to hand the Empire half-trained Force users.
"You could see what is left of the Jedi on Bakura, if anything. Or Ossus. We have not heard from the academy there in some time. There is also news that Ryloth has been attacked by pirates." She clasped her hands loosely behind her back.
