Verdammen. That didn't even maintain rough course with the established plan. Claiming fallacy wouldn't help either party's case, so that would have to be refrained from -along with the sudden desire to apologize. To be exact, she wasn't sorry for being caught out and called out; the Major was troubled that it didn't work properly. Rather than begin to become uneasy or panic the Auburn haired one just discarded the illusions. How debilitating. What sort of decay was festering in Riplian's mind where her intended plan did no longer work? Tess was at fault then, because somehow her affections were tarnishing the Fallanassi's ability to manipulate her lover's mind on a whim. Familiarity with the adapt no doubt stunned ability. Was she getting old? Soft? Love may feel sublime but it wouldn't do any good if it got killed so soon. Maybe the killer instinct was leaving and forsaking the Huntress. There was always a cause for any sort of failure. Did the concepts of right and wrong have anything to do with it? Maybe she had crossed a boundary. Nay, the Major could not afford to start dabbling in morality at this juncture: it would decimate her near boundless use of the Current.
Tess' words did not bring a fresh spark of rejuvenation or stimulate compassion. On the contrary: the Major was sullen. This quickly is taken by mental exhaustion, as that familiar, sleepy glaze begins to cloud over the blue of her eyes. More of the same, then. More doubts. More complaints. More this. More that. And never a solution. So when a back was turned in the morbid markswoman's direction, she copied the gesture and walked to a smoldering crater as others faltered and pieces of the terrain, sky, hedrons, and lake returned to shattered glass against black swabs of void in random spots. Expecting to hear a "take me back" any moment now gave enough deflation to have the Major sit hunched over while leaning her head in her hands. She just didn't comprehend it: why would anyone assume she being criminal if she was trying to be empathetic to the situation? This is why you don't mess with altruism.
"You are extremely naive. I.... ugh. I cannot even judge you, or say anything with the intention -bah. Where is my point? I do not even..." She rambled, unsure how to express anything at the moment. Silence dawns as the taller of pair replays what Tess just said in her mind, searching for meaning and listening -wondering why each time it was heard caused her chest to somehow feel weaker.
This of course resulted in fragments of the speech to come from invisible speakers surrounding the Fascist Fallanassi, which sounded off loudly enough to echo in deep bass tones around the plane.

"Excuse me?" Tess asked with a voice laced with venom. She turned around, her face nearly contorted with anger. She wasn't surprised to see the change in terrain. In fact, she thought she should add to it. A crimson sky rolled over the area, with black tumultuous clouds adorning it. The quaint table set up fell through a crack in the splitting ground, and rocks reverbrated against the slate gray expanse of land every time Tess took a step forward. Gnarly naked trees with vultures upon their boughs appeared while the screeching of that black and gold dragon thundered from all around. The craters spat out molten fire, and the air became dry. Stifling. Almost unbearable.
Tess stepped through a curtain of smoke and stopped inches in front of Rip. "Me? Naive? That's funny, coming from the sniveling and ironic imperial defeatist," she said darkly. Her voice became flat, almost monotone."You got one thing right- you can't judge me. Not with your sordid history. Have you ever done anything worthwhile in all the time you were supposed to lead your so-called people? In fact, name one good thing you've done in your life. No, name one person you haven't lied to or betrayed. No, no, wait- name one person you've loved and they have actually reciprocated such a base emotion back at someone like you." A wicked smile unfurled upon her face and grew larger at the effects her words had on the bespectacled woman.
"Did I hit a sore spot? Oops. Maybe next time you'll learn to listen to Tessy. She asked you to trust her, and now you have turned her into one of your science experiments. You wanted to see if she was lying? Well, no need for any introductions, eh?!" The woman bent over Rip and snatched from her hair the velvet ribbon that held it in a low slung ponytail. "I'll be taking that back, thanks," she said, not caring if any strands were ripped out. "This isn't hers to lend freely." She slowly and deliberately tied it around her own hair while keeping her dark eyes upon Rip's.
"Right before she, well, 'fell asleep,' she was very upset," she said in an undetectable tone. "You didn't answer the nagging questions she had asked you. Even if you don't bring her back, I'll be here. I'll always be here."
After she tied the ribbon into a loose bow, her eyes narrowed. Of course, she did know who this was. Interesting how her other half had found her and became... intimate... with her. Tez held out her hand. "Well, isn't it nice to see you again, Major. Thanks for abandoning me on Dressel, by the way."

At first curiosity pipped up in those moribund eyes. The shadow smothering them is casted off into obsolescence but darkness would never truly depart from those wrinkling, heavy eyelids. Squinting and coal were their fault line, their infinite surrender laced with killing jar plots and quick leveled sniper shots, and their daily prescription. Slipping into self progressed tragedies, over and over, was only more of the same. Pulling the plug on the cycle was her only recompense.
The crater sinks, and suddenly the Major is crawling up to the lip at a frantic pace, struggling to hear her Other cut into this realm's representation of 6 foot plus combat spindle. Fire intensified, and the Dragon speaks in an unidentifiable language of the dead, humming the hedron clouds and causing them to dissipate. What was this? Why was her heart rate spiking up with adrenaline, familiar as the final hours of Reecee when this Major crawled through corpses and eviscerated, tank busted bodies, rotting --- Tess wasn't like this. It must be that the Fallanassi's actions truly did do much mischief, like a misfire.
It would be okay. She may not understand what she did wrong but understood something like a gulf could be torn from the little sentiments which cause someone to freeze over at their alleged partner. It was worth seeming pathetic and weak in this realm; nay, it was worth being admonished, pathetic, and weak in this realm. Did someone say Dressel? It was difficult to discern in the din of roaring, screaming radiation, or the crunch of gravel.
Standing, the Major step-leaps a two timed dash into Tess, past the cold steel orbs and twisted countenance, attempting to embrace her in a combination of caresses and kisses -they don't negate a single atrocity, but maybe? "I am sorry. I thought that you had to be panicked to entice the other side to manifest. I attempted to manipulate you thinking it would be less harsh than having you imagine it for yourself. This was folly. We do not need to make such promises. I will not push you anymore for any reason: science, medical, or otherwise. Stay with me. Forget the other. I cast aside my curiosity if it means being without your warmth....
"....But please stop speaking like this. You do not need to pretend to be harsh in order to teach me a lesson. Stop hitting me in my weaknesses, which I have revealed to you in trust. I am not strong. I will not survive your precision assault."
But Hölle was a funny place. And it would show us, and her, and her, how funny it could get.

Manical laughter came from the mouth of the sinisterly grinning woman. She was rather amused by how fast and how far this situation was escalating. She pushed Rip away, rejecting her futile attempt at connection. "You really think this is a joke? A charade? A farce?" she inquired, hungry eyes refelcting the darkness enveloping them. "You think I'm that useless girl play acting? She doesn't have it in her to even pretend to be me. No, Major, your wish has been granted. Here I am, your lovely little Tez- an upgrade from the older and outdated model. Happy as a Scatalpen, friendly as a Felucian Spore Plant. I'm all you have now. I'll be damned to go back into idleness, watching that pathetic wretch whiddle down our lives hiding from me. She can't escape. It's her curse and burden. It is mine also, but I'm more accepting than her. I wouldn't mind sharing if she wasn't so damn scared all the time! Why doesn't she just embrace what we have!? Why doesn't she utilize our combined strengths?! She's so stupid! What do you even see in her?!"
More bellowing in the distance, but this time it sounded as if it came from everywhere and nowhere all at once. It personified the fire burning inside of Tez, just as trapped and alone as Tess. She handled it much differently, though. She refused to live a life defined by the unknown, and strove to experience the little time she had the exact opposite as Tess did. There was just so much out there! Why waste the opportunities at hand?!
"Well, as much fun as it is here, I'm out of here," Tez said with a vague sense of cheer. She surveyed the area, but it was very unfamiliar to her. She tried to make a flourished exit, but was unable to muster the energy to do so. "Hold on. What is going on? Why can't I use my--" her brow furrowed as she locked eyes with Rip. "What is this place? Where am I? Why can't I use my Force abilities here?"

That laughter was repulsive, disgusting, thumping. More than anything it reminded the Major of Diva's own brand of sanity, branding the worlds like the blackhole that it was. She found this connection so vile it almost caused her throat to well up with repressed bile. Riplian had grown accustomed to Tess' compassionate hands and their devotion to never reject or belittle, but this? This feeling? Rejection, doubt, dereliction. Every possible fear that could nag and tear at a person who was determined to give themselves unto another now played havoc in her subconscious -felling so much that had just been recently built up. Nay, said logic. Listen. Listen. Be calm. Do not give in. Do not surrender. Tess warned. This was the reaping of hard driving on an axis of advance blindly. Apply knowledge and remain calm. Many of Tess' previous statements played in rapid forward motion in Rip's awareness, and this helped her discard the discomfort of having her face shoved violently backwards, pressing her glasses into her nose with a enough force to cause temporary imprints on the skin. The pain was more symbolic, but she thought her way past selfishness -for once.
Visibly scorned, slowly bubbling with such swelling emotion that she forcibly kept her own voice small, the Fallanassi asks for confirmation. "You really are not my Tess, my defender, my absolution, my partner, right now -are you. You really are the other person -are you. You are not a trick or act -are you. . . ."

A look of abject scrutiny was passed from Tez to the woman with the enigmatic monicker. Was Major being serious right now? She didn't at all appear to be inept in any way, so why was she having a difiicult time understanding Tez? Even if it were shock, she should have shaken it off by now. She got what she wanted with her parlor trick, so what more did she want? As the idiom goes, it appeared that the darling Major had bit off more than she could chew. Whatever she was doing or experiencing was beginning to become annoying. Not only that, but this introduction had been disappointing- when she met Major, she seemed so vibrant and malicious in achieving her objectives. Any opposition was met with a blow: either from her ridiculously large musket or her meticulously white gloved fists (or so she had heard). Tez was so incredibly intrigued by the infamous woman she felt she just had to track her down and meet her. After an extensive amount of planning- it was difficult to not be in control of one's body for days on end- she was able to sneak on to Dressel. She hoped to become some sort of protege, or even an officer, and was willing to prove herself in any way she could. However, there were set backs. A dead sister. A broken chest plate. Enlisting in a Fascist army. The plan had failed and she was stranded, surrounded by deplorable figures in gray. But through some demonic miracle, they were seemingly reunited. Except, these circumstances were not living up to her prior expectations. Major was in front of her once more, but this was different. Sickening, even. Instead of asking her to be her cut throat apprentice, she was asking her if she was her miserably weak girlfriend. No plan is without its set backs, it seems. Maybe she could salvage it from the ether it was cast in to. Perhaps she could just edit it a bit. Re-work it and improve it.
"Have you stopped listening to everything I've been saying?" Tez asked coldly. "I thought I made it clear who I was. Let me reiterate for you, since you're obviously confused. I. Am. Not. Tess. Please stop addressing me as such and do me a favor- how about you give me some answers? I really don't like repeating myself, but I'll do it just this once as an exception, okay?" Tez cleared her throat, trying to keep the tension that was rising at bay. She didn't have time to waste being trapped here for however long she and Tessy had planned. In fact, they wasted enough time as it was. Who knew how long she had this time around?! It was time to pick things up where she left them.
"Right. So first off, I want know what it is we're doing here. This is some Force construct, isn't it? That's why I can't really do anything except stand here and philosophize with you, right? Secondly, how do we get out of here? I have some business to attend to. Oh, and thirdly--" Tez cut herself off and swiftly punched Rip in her stomach, causing her to double over with the blow. Before Tez could explain herself, she felt a ripple in the atmosphere. This minor shift gave away the final missing piece to her internal theories. "Ah, I see," Tez said in an appreciative awe. "We're not physically here, are we? This is all mental. I don't fully understand this, but I know there's more to it than I can see. You're the one in control of this realistic dream. Tell me, are we hiding from someone or something? Where are our bodies? Huh. I was able to split in a different reality? How interesting. Wait! What about outside?! What's going to happen to me if I leave?!" Tez grabbed Rip by her shoulders to hold her up. Shaking her gruffly, she sputtered out many thoughts garbled with just as many questions, threats, and demands. She felt her plan begin to disintegrate all over again. Could she make it rise from the ashes next time around? Eventually, all her words just became noise.

Hell was curious in its humor. Thank whatever glimmer of hope that this realm was ultimately guided by Mars, who could consider and evaluate the evidence, even when under direct onslaught. The first inclination was to avenge itself for this grievous belligerence. Nothing, absolutely nothing, was ever allowed to lash back upon its awareness like this foul thing, mink, upstart, cocky roach needing crushing. She would have mashed her rifle through the thing wearing her lover's face until eyes and brain turned to chunky paste, until the Major could directly manipulate its brain stem with her own fingers, making the remaining body shake and tremble with a fist crunch here and there. Intelligence curbed such violent reactions, because they would solve nothing. It took absolutely every cancerous fiber of her being not to absolutely and utterly ravage the tiny mind currently trapped in the labyrinth of her own until it was nothing but a comatose veggie fit for needle play. The strength and resolve came from a surprising place -one that was presumed as never present.
I must fight myself for you, Tess; I must fight you, Tez, for myself.
At a certain point in the violent punching Riplian literally cracks. Her body produces fissures and cracks. Another shake sends dozens of shatter lines like breaking glass, until black, viscous ink begins to weep freely from the gaps. This saturated Tez' hands, and at once the body of the Major blasted into a thousand tiny shards of glass floating like white freckles in a space of total blackness. The world is taken, the sky taken, dragon taken, everything taken- pain would be the educator. But for now, this space was empty besides Tez, and should she try to cast imagery then it would fail as the Fallanassi's will completely overpowered her mind and set the plane to overclock. Instead, it would feel like a giant trench spike was digging into the mind, stabbing.

Mouth agape, covered in a mysterious black fluid, Tez sure was a sight- that is, if A: one was able to see in the dark, and B: one was there with her. Tez was alone in every sense of the word, it seemed. Major had spontaneously combusted, taking with her the enviornment and atmosphee. She was the queen of this void, with only herself to reign over. Her mind became as empty as the expansive wasteland, only able to mutter incoherent curses.
After several moments, Tez was shook off the dazed stupor she was trapped in. She wiped her soiled hands on the sides of her pants, and used her jacket sleeve for her face. "That was a great trick!" she called out to the darkeness. "I know you're still in this place with me, otherwise, I wouldn't still be here- we'd be outside with my fist in your face!" She began to take steps, akin to a lioness on the prowl. "I'm going to find you, Major. You can't hide forever!"
With her final exclamation, Tez took the initiative, thinking herself clever by thinking up a homing beacon to find Major. To her utter dismay, a jabbing and debilitating pain entered her frontal lobe. She screamed in anguish, falling to the ground with her head in her hands. "What are you doing to me!?" she choked out through gritted teeth. "Just let me out, damn it!"

There is darkness, yes; there is torture by chagrin tip, or mental abuse, mind rending, even things constructed with metal barbs and freezing chains, but this was going to be far more specialized than anything she, it, the "what have you," them, a force, a person, a self contained god, an unwitting god, a mote of dust in an ocean, was about to undertake. Find a blessing in the curses, the rose in a pool of feces, or love in the torrent of abuse. It was a slanted viewpoint, but who else could muster the aptitude and appetite to relish these circumstances, these struggles, this war -because of what it tore down and what it built up.
There is a terribly loud hissing noise, spreading from nowhere then concentrating on a zenith above the lone, ichor slicked person in this chamber. Warm wind comes down from above, then retreats the other way, and repeats at a steady pace. Suddenly two moons, nay, two white orbs, twin lights that somehow radiated no shine in this lightless place, appear to the front of this Stage of Nothingness. It takes a moment, but then it's obvious: these were not celestial bodies floating in the heavens, but windows hum glowing in farsighted prescription. They were watching. They were watching her. They watch her speak, meaningless, crushingly white, oppressive, scrutinizing, agonizing, peering inside, past clothes, past the birthmarks upon the body, past the skin and tendons, down, deeper, past flesh and organs. And all the while? Breathing in; breathing out. A twisted white line appears beneath the eyes, and then it grows. It was rapid. It was something that would have been better off not seen, like the ugliness beneath, but it is too late.
The smile was as bright as the eyes, larger than humanly possible, lined with a horror so precise, so exquisite to its purpose that it could only be her, watching, grinning, breathing in and breathing out.
It speaks, rumbling, a whisper, but also a shout.
"Let us come to an understanding. Soldiers follow orders. You were inducted to a unit, assigned a regiment, and deployed in a platoon. Your platoon is in their presighted location. You are not. Dereliction of duty is a punishable offense. You are a traitor, abandoner, and deserter.
"Let us come to an understanding: you are only alive because of your, so called, sniveling, cowardly, weaker half. Let me be open, candid, honest -with you. I cannot kill you because she will die; you cannot live because she has you trapped.
"Let us talk. Let us be friends, ja?"

"Shit," Tez thought profanely. "Technically she's right, but she is missing the fundamental core concept of this situation." Tez became less reactionary and more confident. Though Major had her points, Tez was still, somehow, not totally to blame in this scenario.
"Oh, Major," Tez said in a condescending way. "May I remind you of something? How is it that you think I 'escaped' my duties as a soldier in your regiment? That is no easy feat, and you know that. Did you stop to think before torturing me in this hell-hole that your girlfriend- ugh- is the one who deserted the camp? Do you forget what happens to us? I didn't leave my position; Tessy woke up and fled the first second she got, it seems. She should be the one punished, not I. I was aiming to be a good little girl in your army of freaks and weirdos with aspirations of grandeur. I was going to be your star, and now I'm back to square one. Oh well. If anything, YOU aided, abetted, and laid with a traitor. Look who's the pot here. How will you punish yourself, Ma'am? Ooh, can I watch?"

Interesting. Very interesting. But she wondered if she could truly keep up. The fact that the current visual aura had no seeming effect or phase on her incessant need to defend herself at least have her a testimony of credit. Yet. Yet!
"Two stories: one of a person awakening as a soldier in a menagerie of warmongers and hatred laced people, a nightmare -escaping with the use of any tactics she could possibly call upon; the other of a soldier begging for understanding because their failure to control themselves.
"Tell me: which do you find more compelling? Who of the two is stronger, braver, more steadfast?
"Perhaps you think your condition absolves you from valor. I will show you differently. But first, a lesson: do not present yourself hoping for sympathy. I will give you none, because you are weak, nor do you take responsibility for your situation. However, I will take pity upon Tess for the exact same reason I eschew you, Friend.
"Do not ever assume rules or standards apply to me. I am above them, because I am stronger than they are and stronger than you. Welcome to the double standard. Welcome to inequity. Notice how nobody cares. Welcome to your new reality: one where she gets everything and from which everything is taken from you.
"What say you now, Dragon?"
It grins, proud, hoping that the Tez will have an answer. And not just any answer, but the one that saves her.

"I don't give a damn what you think of me anymore," Tez said, still kneeling on the ground. She shifted herself to sit fully on her bottom, crossed her legs, and rubbed her temples. "I lose no matter what. This is a trick question. No answer I say will satisfy you. I say I'm better, you'll disagree and, I don't know, blow up in my face again. I say she's better, and I admit defeat while ultimately lying to myself. I know she's not better than me, and... I know that I'm not, can never be, and never will be better than her. But one thing is for certain- we need each other because we make each other better." Tez sighed, resigned to confess the things that plagued her which had always been kept stored away.
"I give up, okay? My, our, lives were spent living in an isolated nightmare. Despite all of the nonsense we've endured, we've been each other's only constant. Only we understand each other's torments. I've always given her hell, but I know that she can forgive me. I just want to help her live. She's so scared all the time, but she never lets that on. She hides behind this fear, and I admire her for that. She's not pathetic. I am. I'm the one who's always running away, starting fights out of no where. It's not an attention thing, though. I feel cheated. Why do we have to share our hold in the world? Why can't we have our own?! What nonsense is this, this pseudo-siamese... I don't even know what to call it. Tess is... my sister. My scared kid twin sister who's just trying to cope. I'm the bratty rebel who doesn't know what they're doing or why."
Tez sighed. She didn't feel worse, nor did she feel better. No burden was lifted, no light shed upon the predicament. Tez propped her head on her hands, elbows on her knees. "There. You win, Major. Do with me what you will. I was never really here, anyway. If you actually are the science genius they say you are, just separate us. Smother me. Abandon me. Spare Tessy. She's just trying to survive. She doesn't need me messing up whatever chances there are for her. Heh. Look who's the imperial defeatist now."

Which is exactly when our good friend Tez would feel a pair of slender, somewhat stiff hands upon her shoulders. Thus the Fallanassi, unaltered, leans over the sitting one's shoulder with a wide smile attached to her face. Presumably, this was the expression the gargantuan eyes and mouth were mimicking without the cover of shadow. Truly, seeing the grin this closely and without a smothering shadow did nothing to alleviate the sheer perversity that powered innately from that freckled cheeked face.
"Only at our lowest do we see ourselves as we are, do you not think? Dear Tez, it would be too easy to kill you -erase you. I always win. Repeat that to yourself: the Major always wins. Thus I always take the most difficult route, and for excellent reason as well; anything else simply puts me to sleep.
"You will not be allowed to surrender; the choice is no longer your choice. This I have taken as well. In its place I will provide you hope. Why? I am a humanist, the most generous. Why keep you living another person's dream? Nein, it makes no meaningful purpose. Hold on to Hope; I only bring you down to enable you to see more clearly upon your rise. True, I may be only doing this for your sister, but it strikes me that her wish is not to let you come to harm. She would rather pursue peaceful co-existence. Naturally, I could be wrong, and then I will naturally eliminate you. But take comfort: when am I wrong?
"Come, come, chin up, jaw set, fists balled. Brute force has only exacerbated the issue. Why not indulge in a more subtle approach? Besides, look on the bright side. You share your sister's face: you look oh so very cute when you are depressed."

"Define 'hope,'" Tez requested in an uninterested voice. "What kind of hope do you think appeals to someone like me? There isn't enough in this or the next lifetime that could convince me that something good will happen. This whole thing will end in tragedy, Major Shepardt, you'll see. One of us will be drenched in tears at the conclusion after the curtains have been cut. Silence will roll over the dumbstruck audience because the lot of them didn't understand anything that had happened. The lights will dim, they'll stumble out, and the painted one-demensional scenery will be torn down by faceless hands. Nothing was there all along. The woman left on stage will fall through the rusted trap door before gasping her final breath."
Tez let Major leave her hands on her shoulders, but they came off when she shrugged. "I'm not depressed, just realistic. Can you conjure up a flask of scotch? I would do it myself, but you know, one aneurysm a day is enough."

It seems as though the imagery is bleak enough to cause even the Major to frown in a pensive manner. She is given pause, and in the duration of that concentration she imagines and plays out Tez's condemnation.
"Your description is morose and heavy handed in fatalism. I like it severely. It is a beautiful concept in its loneliness. In fact, a metaphorical demise like that one has a great deal of appeal. Let us do that. At worst we end up in a lonely play that no one will watch, ruined, dead. At best? Hope.
"Either way is better than stagnation or resignation. Do not surrender now, Tez. Fight. Fight with such snippets at your moribund nature and surely you will have me somewhere to, on, around, your rear. Claw by claw, climb up and claim your life. It can always be more abysmal. For instance: alcohol will not got you drunk here."

"I wasn't intending to get drunk, " Tez scoffed. "I like the taste, obviously." Tez's eyes looked up to meet Major's, and waited for what felt like an eternity, which was about fifteen seconds. "Fine. Don't do it," she snapped with a sigh. "Is there anything you wish to discuss while I'm trapped here with you? Questions? Comments? Complaints?"

Compared to Tess, this one was much more combative, even frustrating. The Major almost had to check herself from thinking the cliche about the worth of taming a wild horse. Surely, this firecracker might be willing to... try certain things that the Fallanassi may or may have not been considering. She certainly had enough fascination with the morose and theatrical. Is that awful to think? Perhaps misread? Bookmark the concept. The problem is that there is a possibility that they were still in fact one person just separated by empathy and apathy along the fault line of trauma. If that was the case then it would be very advantageous to make amends, or better, with Tez.
"Look: I will buy you the largest, tastiest bottle of scotch back in the lands where it has an effect, if that is your style of poison. Is it? But I do have a question: can you remember everything your, hmm, 'sister' does -especially in matters of that have transpired in, say, the last week."

"Tasty?" Tez asked with a raised eye brow. "Who the hell would use 'tasty' as an adjective for describing alcohol? Dreadful. Ugh, sorry. I've been cooped up for quite some time, so I'm a tad cranky."
Tez undid her ribbon and ran her fingers through her hair. She yawned while shaking out her tresses, getting accustomed to being awake again after the lengthy period of being dormant. "I see some things," she answered, sounding half bored. "I can hear what's going on if I actually pay attention. Unlike Tessy, I try to utilize our situation as best I can. If I concentrate enough, my awareness allows me to see what she does with her time with our, you know, body. Otherwise, I let her have her time. This period though has been interesting, so I've been paying attention to your affair like an old woman with a soap opera. I may not approve, but it intrigues me."

Troublesome. The things spoken to her Copperhead were private sentiments, and that went double for the actions associated with it along with the tears shed or areas clasped unto. How much detail did Tez exactly have? Did she see instances in the town, or that strange failed dare in the bathtub, or even the kisses and embraces in the hotel room. To make matters worse Tez, the Latent Side, specifically stated that she did not approve of what could be called 'the relationship.' This was understandable if in fact they were two separate entities like both sides claimed -watching another aspect doing things with your body that you didn't ever want to do must've been jarring; if they were merely split personalities, however, then the picture was far more insidious in implication. Somewhere, Tess' subconscious was telling her this was not choice. Possibly.
The Major begins to frown with her lips parted and teeth clenched. "That is. . . not acceptable. What I have said to her is private, and to think this entire time there is another being watching, judging?"
It was just a tiny bit hypocritical to be concerned with visibility and secrecy. After all, the women weren't exactly being secretive with their companionship. They had spent a week running about Saarlan, challenging any person who was stupid enough not to quickly follow their commands. "I will not apologize for what has been done. No one forced you to watch. And I love you -I mean her. Hm. The core concept here is that aspect will continue. Though I must say this situation even brings me pause."

"Let me be honest with you here, Major," Tez was saying as she re-fixed her low-slung pony tail. "I don't care what you find 'acceptable' in regards to Tessy and me. In case you forgot, I've been around longer than you. If anything, you're the one who should be trying to impress me. You should be worried about proving that you're good enough for her to prevent me from doing something... brash or extreme. But don't take that as a threat, okay? Obviously if I hated you I would have done something already. I hate to admit it, but you're the only person that has ever made Tessy happy. I feel how secure she is these days, how confident and strong. In fact, I think this is the longest we've gone without the transition in a very long while. Heh, you must be doing something right. It's very admirable of you to stick by her knowing of this precarious life of hers, so that already gives you a plus in my book. Hell, we could even come up with an arrangement of some sort between the three of us if you keep this up."
